A big part of the reasoning is wanting to remove the stale meta. Something I agree with. Unfortunately now some of my favourite perks are now in the firing line as they are rising to the top. If too many are running the same perks then it makes sense to ask the question why? Often it is to fix something broken in the game. such as tunneling/camping. The best fix in my opinion is to try to bring things into the base game and nerf the perks to make them less necessary.
My biggest worry though is they don't look at the reason why perks have a high pick rate. They just nerf the ones that do. Pain reso, pop, coh, spine chill. They don't look at the core reason the perks are run they just say, kill the perk. But as he said some of my favorites are moving up on the board and it worries me that some fun perks are gonna be on the chopping block soon.
-
Also the no mither challenges in the archive would be impossible to finish. As survivor I would 100% dodge a lobby with anyone running that perk.
-
No to the base speed change. But you could add more of a fatigue state for missed attacks if you wanted. Alchemist ring should probably be nerfed soon too but not the speed add-ons.

I've never had a fun match against a Skull Merchant. They've all been drawn out 3 gen slogs.
It's either long 3 gens or she tries to chase and everybody walks out the gate because she doesn't have a decent chase.
-
I like this idea. It needs some fine tuning but anything to make her more interactive. Right now she is boring to play against and boring will drive people away from the game. They need to make versing her fun.

3-gen slow healing Skull Merchant has been the only matches I've played today. In one of the matches, two gens could be covered by one drone so she always had a third on standby.
I'm not actually convinced BHVR playtests anything. They just have different teams throw crap into a patch and call it good.
They didn't really address the issue with skull merchant in this patch. Other than that I don't really have much of a problem. They do need to do something so it's not miserable to play against her. Not even from a balance perspective but from a fun perspective. If something is this unfun it's bad for the game.

At the very least, if there is only one survivor left standing and you're slugged in the ground, there should be a "press ___ to die" option after 30 seconds or so. That way, you can leave with earned BP, you don't have to spend minutes on the ground unable to play, and the hatch can spawn. The match is likely over at that point so imposing a DC penalty is stupid, and killers shouldn't be able to easily cheese the entire hatch mechanic through slugging.
I agree that you should have the button to die after 30 seconds of there is only 2 survs left. As killer I only slug for the 4k if the team was in my face with flashlights and t bags and all the fun stuff. I don't mind bming and stuff but I will bm right back if someone starts it.

Does he have some extra mobility? I don't use beastmarks or knife scratchers - so no extra mobility for me. That makes him M1 killer AFAIK.
But sure. Let's check other killers I play - pinhead as mentioned is also extremely good this patch. Plague absolutely is M1 killer in case of survivors that don't give u power (minus one fountain - and I don't use apples if I don't want to win extra much). Legion feels super good, but nobody should be surprised with it. I haven't played ghostface this patch yet, but I presume he will also feel much better (yes, assumption in this case), with Dredge I had some bad games recently - but considering how little I play him these days - it can be just pure bad luck.
Bubba has a chainsaw. He should use that for the majority of his downs. That literally means he's not a m1 killed. A m1 killer downs people with his m1 ability aka smacking the survivor with a stick.
-
What time do you mean you want to go back to? When infinites were in? Machine gun build? When bugs whent through the roof? This game has never been balanced or bug free. I think people just forget how bad it used to be. In my opinion it's the most fun it's been right now. (As long as I'm not playing against pinhead) lol personal problem there.
-
For I addon change I would bow on my knees if I thought they would change pyramid heads. By change I don't mean nerf the range. Leave range and duration but completely rework every other addon. They are All completely useless.
For a killer rework I would agree to Myers. He is a iconic killer and fun to play as and against but he has sadly fallen behind. As everything else in the game moves on he just keeps getting weaker and weaker.
-
It needed reworked but I think they did it wrong. As a anti tunnel perk it's all but pointless and only two uses a game means any other exhaustion perk will give more value. I've heard this idea around and I think all you needed to do was give incapacitated effect for a few seconds after activation. No pallets no vaults.

Oh right, but I can say same about Blight mains. It's really hard to play against master Blight if you don't have full squad of equal level.
I have seen some gameplay from V1rtual_reality and it's insane what Blight can do.
But when I see that, I know they have on that character probably more hours than I have total, so understandable.
He is very strong but the difference between him and the nurse is he has counterplay. His mechanics mean if you position yourself correctly he can't get you with his power no matter how good he is. If you drop a god pallet he has to break it even if it's only a second you earn, every second counts for gens. If the nurse perfect blinks that's it. No god pallet is gonna help. No positioning is gonna do anything. If her blink lands it doesn't how strong the area is your taking the hit. I'm fine with a killer being super strong as long as their are ways to counter them even if those ways are hard. I'm willing to learn them. I used to think there was counterplay to nurse but those only work against low and mid tier. A really good nurse isn't going to care.
-
I had this happen to my pyramid head. So frustrating. But it fits the theme of bedham. Bang head against wall until exit gates open.
-
I like this. I'm a pyramid main and if I plan on tunneling someone dead hard Is pointless in its current form. I just aim my knife at the hook and pull when they come off. Tada! Deep wounds on exit and all perks pointless. (I don't do that often just using it as a example) the new perk isn't even good as a anti tunnel. I don't like dead hard as a killer but I understand why it's here. Just because I don't like something doesn't mean it should be nerfed into the ground.
-
We're just going back to how it used to be. Deciding if you want to take the extra time to find a way to heal or stay injured and work gens. The killer in me says please take the time and heal, but the survivor side of me says, "to the generator!"
-
The dash was my big problem with the perk. I don't have a problem with the endurance effect. I didn't like how if you screwed up in a chase you just hit the button and you made the pallet anyway. I'm not gonna crap on your idea because you have some interesting ideas but the way it is stated right now would be way too strong. Maybe with some tweaks. I would definitely make it a exhaustion perk for one. Think they use it to get to a window then they can proc lithe too. I would be okay with the burst of speed but only if it had a steep price to get it. Maybe you have to do the equivalent of a whole gen or something. If you make the requirements too easy then we'll be back where we were.

Barely a nerf? The fact that she can't instadown you is kinda big deal and range add-ons were busted.
She is still best for sure, but those things were super annoying with her.
Counterplay against nurse is break line of sight, but that sadly depends on map.
I actually don't really mind playing against her. It's fun when you manage to pull off some mind games.
I don't mind playing against her either but if you come against a true master who knows all the counterplay there is it won't work against her.

They did nerf her, making her attack special and removal of range add-ons were good.
It doesn't really matter who is best killer. If you overnerf her, it will piss off people and nothing is going to change, next gatekeeper will be Blight, then Spirit etc.
There will always be some best killer. We don't really need overall killer buffs, just focus on specific killer buffs so everyone is happy.
I agree mostly. Except about nurse. That was barely a nerf. Truly good nurses have 0 counterplay and they don't need anything beyond locater perks to turn you into survivor pudding. She breaks the very basic fundamentals of the game. Blight should be the strongest killer. He has counterplay at least.

You can't balance around soloQ either. That would be really bad.
It's same like this for both sides:
-what will this change do with SWF
-what will this change do with Nurse
Nurse just needs nerfed. I'm sorry and I like her but Its infuriating when they nerf a perk for my pig just because it's op on the nurse.

Not true. 32s self care was not ideal, but it worked. If you are talking about even more veteran players, self care used to be 16s if I remember correctly.
I'm not refuring to heal timing. I'm talking about having to make the choice of finding alternative ways of healing, inner healing, renewal, self care botany, or just staying injured and doing gens.
-
Tunneling, camping, and slugging. None of those are toxic in the right conditions. There are times when all of those are appropriate to the game condition. Sometimes they're necessary. Sometimes they're toxic. It's all a matter of the current game state. Also not sure why looping is in your list. Kinda the only way to not get hooked, unless you think we should just stop and wave whenever the killer comes to visit.
-
Problem is this is how it used to be before coh. Those of us who were here will adapt and move on. For people who started after coh was added it's gonna be a hard crash back to reality. The perk held people's hand through low and mid tier mmr and now it's gone. Gonna be a rough transition back to normal for some people.
-

Those are not alternative. Those are just slowdowns.
Deadlock, no way out, jolt are still good.
Eruption with nowhere to hide is also good
Pain resonance is fine, but you can't just spam it whenever you can. You have to pay attention, I am lazy, so won't use it that much anymore.
CoB got nerfed into oblivion, but 3-gen was pain to deal with.
With medkits and CoH nerfed, hit&run is viable again, which is an alternative to tunneling.
Pain reso wasn't something you could spam whenever you wanted. It was a reward for downing a survivor. The medkit change was needed and welcome. The coh nerf is nice for low and mid tier killers. Won't really matter at high tier anyway. People just stay injured and pound gens. Also it's op as all get out for swfs. But you can't balance around a swf anyway.

If you don't want to lay around for 2 minutes you wouldn't equip the perk.
You would only be unable to hook the survivor who has this perk, you could hook another survivor instead.
Regarding your first point, it's a matter of opinion that killers are weakest early game. I see many times where killers slug before 1 gen is done regardless, so this hypothetical perk would not stop that anyway.
If it's a totem, it could be snuffed or there could be a different condition for it to enable/disable.
There are so many factors about this that everyone seems to ignore, probably because they are killer/survivor sided. I play both equally so I have no agenda here. I just notice that a survivor can be hooked within the first minute sometimes and nobody saves them. And when I play killer, I don't like hooking a survivor within the first minute, I usually leave one on the ground and pressure a gen. But it seems like some players are sweaty for the hooks and the bleed out mechanic doesn't even come into play.
It's not a matter of opinion. It's just a fact. The killer has no hooks, downs or any kind of pressure yet. There are 7 gens and survivors can work on any they want to. He can't keep track of all of them like he can when there is only 1 or 2 left. By late game he can monitor his gens. He should have someone on death hook. People injured, out of position. Also less resources on the map.
-
My main question is in solo q you have teammates who won't let go of gens? Can you send them to my solo q games please? I would be happy to stay injured if they would do gens instead of totems and chests.

I still use it, it's great with Nowhere to hide.
Nth and eruption on pyramid is great. You put a bomb on the gen and a lot of the time you get a free snipe on someone hiding near the gen..
Good on wraith too with kick speed add-ons.
-
As hard as it is to imagine there was a time before coh. If you need to heal to be able to play then that's the problem right there. How do you play against legion or plague. There are times to heal and times to stay injured and work on a gen. There are still plenty of ways to heal. Inner healing, renewal, resurgence and a medkit.

You didn't use exactly good example. It just means you are tilted because of your team and decide it's not worth your time. Yeah, so there is no reason to have DC penalty at all with your logic. You are basically one of reasons why there is a DC penalty.
Better example would be last two survivors alive, one on hook kill himself so other have chance for hatch. That's valid.
I'm not here to sit and watch team do nothing. If they're not trying why should I? If they are trying I'll stick it out even if we're losing. But if my team isn't even trying why should I try? Your example is also a good one as well

One of my favorite to play and to verse. Whoever is better will win.

My personal tier list has pig trapper And legion down with Meyers but sadako has mobility. It's not great mobility but I can't put her below Meyers. And skull merchant isn't week. She's annoying and not fun to play against but her style isn't week. This is my personal opinion but I think skull merchant is more b tier is the right hands.

I think disarming traps should come with a skill check (can be easy and slight harder with a Yellow addon). Missing skill check will get trapped.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/SJUZR1FK96RH/image.png
And traps should not spawn at the edge of maps.
And some maps really need grass.
Other than that, he will be good.
This is a excellent suggestion. I never thought of it before and I like it. A failed skill check would result in getting trapped. There should be some risk reward for disarming his traps. You are essentially removing a killers power for free. I know it would be hard to code but my other idea would be of you have a item on you you could sacrifice the item to disarm the trap. It makes since. Throwing a item onto a trap would disarm it but the item would be destroyed. Without a item you would take a damage state. If injured you would receive deep wounds. I think survivors should be able to disarm traps but I also don't think it should be free.
Another idea I had, and I'm surprised I haven't seen this on here yet, was lockers. he would start with 2 traps and can refill at lockers until max map limit is reached.
-
I don't approve of this approach but I understand why it happens. Say you put the fast vault on Meyers for some fun. Superior anatomy, bamboozle, and fire up. You want to teleport through vaults just for some fun and get some cool reactions from survivors. Then you wind up on the game map. I would still run around as killer just so I'm not sitting their but I probably wouldn't even really be trying.
I wouldn't want to just sit their but I understand why people do it. Other reasons why people do it I won't try to excuse. Tanking mmr is another one I've seen and I agree they should have penalties for that but unfortunately as of right now I don't think they have a way of telling why people are doing it.

He's weak, but he's still far from being the weakest killer. He's low mid at best all things considered the issues he has have been there since day 1. The problem isn't his kit so much as everything else around him has changed. He's not a killer that was ever meant to have antiloop because antiloop wasn't thing to consider for him as he's a stealth killer who's power revolves around the exposed status. He's one of the few killers that have built in exposed that actually aren't harmed by it being there. He himself hasn't changed, but the tools survivors have to deal with him and the way maps are made now with being gigantic have changed.
Tier 3 is also not rendered completely useless by survivors staying injured. He still has a longer lung and faster vaulting which while ultimately small still constitute an increase in power which can then be combined with perks to give him a sharper edge.
I'm not saying he's not viable or doesn't have his moments but compared to almost every other killer he has a lot less to work with. Even compared to other low tier killers he has not luch. Clown has a strong chase without too much counterplay. Legion has mobility and info. Who would you say is weaker than Meyers. If theres not at least 4 or 5 he is one of the weakest killers in the game.
I'm not trying to be difficult. If you can change my mind I would be happy to. I love Meyers but that doesn't make him strong. I have no problem with weak killers as long as they're fun. I used to be a pig main after all.
-
I'm surprised no one has said him but I think doctor. He's not the strongest killer but he doesn't feel week or overpowered. He's fairly easy to pick up but he also has a surprisingly high skill ceiling. He has a lot of tools and techs he can use with his power to deny pallets and windows but he also has counterplay from the survivors so he can be beat. His add-ons are good but not overpowered and he has a nice selection to choose from. He can utilize a wide variety of perk builds and fun play styles.
My other answer I have is wraith. I know people either see him as week or overpowered depending on who you ask but he is fun, has good mobility, and a excellent set of add-ons to pull from. After this much needed fl change I think he'll be in a excellent place. Not many killers base powers got scrapped just because you went against a lobby of flashlights. I'm expecting a lot of flack for this opinion but it is just my opinion and you are free to disagree with it.
To finish up I would also say huntress. Strong killer, high skill ceiling, but counterplay is there too.
To me a balanced killer isn't about strength. It's about 2 things. Are they fun. Is their counterplay. That's why huntress is in their even though she is very strong. There is almost no better feeling then hitting a trick hatchet as killer. From the other side their is almost no better feeling than dodging that hatchet. I think a good balance is about the counterplay the most. If their is counterplay then whoever is better should truly win.
-
Just because it doesn't work on you doesn't mean it doesn't work on other people. Whenever you basic attack as killer your head pulls up for some reason. It doesn't work against really good survivors but mid and low mmr youde be surprised how many times you can make people pop it early. Like I said though. It's not going to work on top tier survivors. They'll make you eat the dh anyway. I play a lot of wraith though and starting to ring the bell is almost indistinguishable from attacking. A nice little bait exclusive to my boy Phillip.

It's already the highest tier rarity that exists. Both Tuft of hair and Tombstone are iri addon's which means they are ultra rare. They are fine considering the massive setbacks they impose to reaching tier 3, a single survivor can't produce enough stalk charges to get myers to tier 3 when those addons are used. It requires stalking multiple survivors nearly to the max. It's just as likely that he loses as it is he gets a shock 4k. It's the most interesting thing he can do considering it alters his playstyle substantially with the second most interesting being Scratched mirror. The addons are fine and it isn't if the devs didn't design a tell to let you know when he's got tombstone once tier 3 actually pops.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3402388#Comment_3402388
He's far from the weakest killer in the game, but he is one of the oldest killers in the game. He was built different than the way killers are made today where all their addons are good for are covering their weaknesses or making their strengths marginally better. His addons in large part were meant to modify the ways you can play with him. Trading a certain amount of risk/time investment for reward. I'm not saying he doesn't need buffs or more correctly QoL adjustments cause he hasn't really been touched in a long time. Though it's gonna be tough because he already delivers so well in terms of gameplay mirroring the them of his actions in film.
I'm sorry but you are incorrect. Myers is incredibly week. He has no anti loop that actually matters and no mobility. Smart survivors won't group up so you won't get more than one survivor for each deployment of tier three normally. Also good survivors don't heal. They sit on gens instead rendering a tier 3 pointless. To wrap up he has less in his kit than almost any killer so he is objectively one of the weakest killers in the game. Fun. But weak.
-
First off, I think you mean tombstone piece. And it is a broken add on that is way to strong. But the only reason he gets a addon that strong is because he is almost the weekest killer in the game. They need to buff him up and nerf both tombstone add-ons at the same time. But until they buff him there's no point in nerfing the only add-ons that make him viable at highers mmrs.

-buff most addons outside of tombstone
-remove stalking max on a survivor
Yes to everything you said. Poor Michael needs a lot. If they buffed him he wouldn't need a overpowered addon just to be viable. He's such a iconic horror character. It's sad to see him treated so bad.

He does better than you apparently instead of nerfing the few viable ones we should bring the week killers up.

Well, if you need 4k and don't want to gamble, this is way to go. Simple as that
what is worse imo are two last survivors hiding, ignoring gens and hoping I am going to find other survivor first. I have been stuck in games like this several times. Record they had was almost 40 minutes of hiding. I was just watching anime and randomly running around map...
As a survivor, you are going to at least bleed out, so it will end quite soon.
We definetly don't need keys back or anything like that. That was so annoying time to play killer.
I agree entirely. Old hatch was busted and annoying. If a killer has a really close match where he was running hard to keep ahead and just managed to pull it out there is a very low chance of him giving hatch to last. I personally in this case will slug for the 4k. If it was a chill match where I didn't feel too pushed then I won't. But hiding survivors at the end is annoying. I understand why it's done and is just part of the game. Last two both want the escape so will throw each other under the bus to get it.
-
I like your idea but I think it should activate when the killer hasn't been in chase for 3 4 minutes. I have a member of my swf who is the gen jockey. He's ######### at chase but he has a knack for never being found. He quietly does tons of gen progress but never gets found while we run the killer. I don't want to see him suffer just because he did his part of the job.
-
I agree but they aren't gonna do it. They want to keep a good bit of the grind to keep us coming back to play. If there wasn't a grind Lot of people would have no goal to push for a would play something else.

Universally unhelpful. I hold deep preference to information over opinion.
The very fact you want to remove his dash hit shows that your preference should be ignored. When in power he has one of the strongest abilities in the game. But it is a timed ability And good survivors can counter it with tight loops and predrops.

It's not even a comp game though. You get nothing for gaining mmr. It's not even public. Bhvr didn't want to anyone to know how mmr is gained or lost because they didn't want people to game the system to intentionally gain or lose mmr. People CAN be competitive but the game itself is not competitive whatsoever.
Who cares if someone tries to go for 11 hooks? Why does it matter to you what others do and find fun in this game? What's wrong with this community?
It shouldn't be a comp gaim I agree. But the sad fact is the devs made it one. Mmr and balancing is pushing the game into the comp side of things. Also putting 2 sides into a game with the objective of beating the other side will almost always breed a competitive mood in the player base. I wish it wasn't competitive and I don't play that way (unless the red mist depends) but that's the way they're pushing it.
-
Your idea won't work obviously but they should revert pop to its old version. There was nothing wrong with it. It just had a high pick rate so they nerfed it. That's just what bhvr does.
-
No. Just no. Survivors don't need another thing they can use to stun a killer. Wraith isn't even that strong of a killer. Blocking a pallet or window is just one of his strengths. Don't take away what little he has.
