Yes Chucky is very powerful. Let's nerf pig!!!!

I never played skull merchant before the final rework and I hated her with a passion before just as much as everybody but after the rework I played her some to learn how to counter the new powers and since then she has become on of my top played killers next to wraith and pyramid head. I was working on my own post to give my ideas for tweaks to her but now i dont think i need to. I agree with everything you have said and if they implemented these changes I think she would be more fun to verse and play while also having a higher skill ceiling as well.
I understand the release version had issues but they have mostly been worked out and I would like to see the mindless hate that she still gets at least be reduced. Last night I switched back to wraith just so I could have a serious match. Three teams in a row either DC'd or gave up on hook immediately even before I had done much of anything, and I run full chase build too. No gen regression or slowdown.
-
I actually kinda like this idea. A surrender option for the killer side. There are times you load into a match and you know it's gonna just suck. Bring a vault speed build for meme fun and wind up on the game. Bring a pallet shredding build and wind up on lery's
-
I understand my friend. I've become a killer main because the solo que experience. Either your team is great and you wipe the killer out or the killer stomps your team into the ground. There's no middle ground for solo anymore it seems. I miss the close matches where two survivors on death hook screamed out the door with a angry killer right behind them.
-
As a killer main if someone tries to team with me to screw over their team I immediately remove them from the game and allow their team to leave

I mean I'm sure the majority of us would start each match with muting everybody in a SoloQ match. I don't have an SWF group and I don't intend to get into any. No comms please!
Do we have statistical data on how many new players join DbD? Let's say each month. You've got to remember that starting afresh also means SoloQs will underperform.
I'd be okay with voice chat as long as it's proximity chat and the killer is in too. I really want to whisper to survivors as wraith hiding behind a rock.
-
There's nothing overpowered about this so I say go for it. The more interesting perks the better.
-
I agree that the 4% should be removed if nothing else to stop people from killing themselves on hook as well. But the base bt in no way needs to be removed, even in endgame. I mean you no offense but if everybody was on first hook and there was a bot in endgame it doesn't sound like you earned the 4k but that you had a really bad match (maybe not your fault) and then got lucky.
-
Not To set off all the survivor mains out there but stbfl is really the only counter. Eating through endurance as long as your a m1 killer. But of course they're taking that away soon so I would switch to a m2 killer. They're wrecking m1 anyway.

I don't think there's a better display of mob-mentality than that in the World of Blights, Nurses, Spirits, Weskers, Chuckys and Huntresses people call an m1 killer with no map-mobility, weak anti-loop and no remote downing ability "busted".
I can't keep away from these threads, you guys are unbelievably amusing! It's more fun than unironically asking to nerf Pig!
Agreed. I enjoy playing and versing skully now. She's a stealth killer now with a bit of anti loop and a bit of info. In my opinion I think she's the best stealth killer now. Stealth on command without crouching or ringing a bell. Can attack whenever she wants out of it and can't have it taken away like ghosty. People say she can counter any loop by throwing a drone up and forcing a ping and this is true but think how much time she is spending doing this. Compared to every other anti loop power this one is definitely not that strong. She used to absolutely suck. I'm not gonna argue that but people just let there hate follow through. I did to before I started playing her. Now that I understand her power she I fun to vers.

This isn't really a solo queue issue you describe here, is it? It's more the matchmaking that is inconsistent. And honestly, even with tunneling being such a big deal right now I'd argue that solo queue is in a better spot in comparions to SWFs than it was in the past. It's not great but the HUD really helps to keep the overall efficiency of many solo survivors up, which fixes one of the worst issues in solo queue. Objective progression being too slow.
There is not a whole lot that can be done, because as you said any advantage that solo queue players get will also work in a SWF. I think that a chat wheel with some simple comments like "Killer near me!", "Come heal.", "Focus on gens." etc. and maybe some ways for survivors to have more information of each other's positions (no base kit Bond, just something in that regard) would work. But even that wouldn't bridge the difference between solo queue and SWFs completely. After all, SWFs know with who they play, so there won't be anyone that just throws the match, doesn't do anything or is significantly worse than everyone else in that lobby.
Matchmaking is a solo que issue though a lot. A good swf can communicate and adjust there playstyle according to the strength of a killer. Also the swfs players should be in about the same skill level unless they're introducing a friend to the game. In solo que you might get a survivor with 5k hours and another with 500 hours. I would argue that that definitely is a solo que issue.
-
Please no. I don't want punished because one of my teammates is bad. All of us on death hook just because one person went down every five seconds.
-
No? Exhaustion perks add a element of fun and unique gameplay for survivors. As for regression I don't run it often but it's still very much a good thing for killers to have access to. We chop away too many mechanics from the game and it's going to become extremely stale.
-
Absolutely not. And yes there is. Distortion and calm spirit. They completely disable certain perks on killers. Would you like them changed as well? If you are okay with reworking both of those and every other aura read or scream counter in the game then I'm all on board with light born changes.

@Callahan9116 said:
What is the proposed 3 gen solution? Getting 3 gen'd is 100% a skill issue that comes from lack of planning, it would be absurd to punish killers for planning out well the mid game when survivors can get rewarded for a lack of planning.
Of course it's absurd but that's how it works. People complain about something for long enough weather on killer or survivor and it gets changed. The die hards will hang there and adapt to a new play style that will eventually be complained about and changed again. It's just the way it's always been. Neither side will ever be happy about the other.

Killer main here.
Some things should not be touched. Long term movement speed from both sides and hit recovery from killers should always be standardized. The maps are balanced around the expectation of movement speeds and recovery speeds being the same. Changing those fundamentally breaks the balance of the game. We need those recovery speeds and consistent longterm movement speeds to be set in stone. Otherwise, everything falls apart like a house of cards. I feel pre-nerf MFT and STBFL were almost equal in regards to being broken. STBFL is less broken, however, as there is at least survivor counterplay by the obsession being on the front line.
Just my opinion.
With all due respect I must disagree. True it should be standardized for maps but the maps are just too varied and different for that to be true. Going to bedham or garden of hell, could start you with 8 tokens and I still dont like the odds.

How did the Killer get STBFL stacks if they were tunneling?
Clearly I'm not on the side of a nerf but it doesn't take a tremendous amount of effort to get a few stacks if they aren't sending the obsession in for hits
-
As a pyramid head enthusiast I'd like to say it can't be done ......
Lol no I've been blinded too many times for that to be true.

Save the best for last at 8 stacks used to save 1.2s on a 3s cooldown (1.8s)
now it saves 1.08s on a 2.7s cooldown (1.62s)
just gotta turn it down to 7 stacks max (1.755s)
although it should be as simple as remove a stack (because 2 stacks would be a bit much for the dynamic of the perk losing 2 stacks for hitting the obsession) its probably gonna be a more complex rework
That's what worries me. bhvr has a tendency to butcher perks instead of giving them the slight balance they need.
-
There is nothing wrong with hope. It's a endgame perk and was never complained about until it stacked with mft. It's fine on it's own as just a strong perk. Nothing wrong with strong.
-
There are many reason why you would hook the same survivor twice in a row without purposely tunneling. Survivor gets unhooked and than works on a gen in your face. Should I just ignore a stupid mistake just because I brought a perk? Survivors healing directly under the hook? Should I just ignore the injured person right there and chase the uninjured person instead? 1 gen left to do and the only person on death hook comes off right next to me? Should I give up the game or make the smart move and remove a player? Tons of reasons to tunnel without being toxic about it and we shouldn't punish a perk load just because the state of the game.

What important info isnt visible? Perks offerings names, all there.

If i should guess.
"You cant trade hooks if stbfl its fully charged".
You can. Even with 8 stacks their is still time for a unhook.
-
Please don't make these kinds of suggestions. Devs could easily take you seriously and actually think it's a good idea. So many reports are pure bogus by people who are just angry about losing. Every report needs to be examined for real before it's acted on.
-
No no and no. Basement hooks are the only hooks that give immunity to saboteur squads. It's a strategic move to place someone in the basement and it shouldn't be removed. Maybe some tweaks to counter campers would be okay but the basement should definitely not be removed.

At this point, might aswell killswitch garden of pain until it gets properly reworked.
The map isn't "a bit survivor sided" , its "this map is an auto W, if you see an offering for it as killer, close the game on task manager".
Yep

While people clamoring to not nerf it aren't "babies", it's refreshing to see someone having a similar idea to mine.
STBFL is, in my opinion, one of the most well-designed perks in the game.
Why? Because weak/average M1 Killers can get a lot of uses out of it and the powerhouses (Nurse & Blight) can hardly use it.
Perks that are powerful but not made busted by stronger Killers are few, and STBFL is one of them.
Except for deactivating when next to a hooked Survivor, STBFL shouldn't be changed.
Sloppy Butcher is arguably along those same lines (it allows weak Killers some amount of slowdown to compensate for harder chases and potentially having to drop chase while strong Killers don't really benefit from it as much).
I honestly think that nerfing STBFL or Sloppy in any way will just kill the variety in Killers even more.
In higher MMR, it's a lot of Blight, Nurses, Huntresses and Spirit already. I don't want to be forced to play top-tier Killers to compete against good Survivors and I don't want to always face the same 4 Killers despite dozens of them existing.
I know they aren't babies. I was just cranky. I purposely don't run regression so it hurts when they want to nerf my builds.
-
I'm fast on my way to becoming a skull merchant main do to her current form. I play her with four chase perks and use her stealth addon's and go full Rambo on their asses. She isn't extremely strong that way but she is fun and that's what counts.
-
If you really just want to reach iri 1 might I suggest you switch to a strong anti loop killer? Pyramid head for example. Throw on a full slowdown build, corrupt, deadlock, no way out, noed, and just full chase. Evan the very best survivor will go down to p head fairly quickly. I'm sorry your suffering so hard in this mmr. It does suck
-
Because mmr recently just seems broken. I probably have the most hours on my pyramid head and I like to think I'm pretty good at him since I can 4k fairly consistently but this past week every 3rd match or so have been groups of literal babies. For example I had a 2 stack of Dwight's that didn't even have 4 perks yet and they played accordingly. But I was playing skull merchant a little to try and better understand her power so I could counter her in solo que and I was getting match after match of juicers and gen rushers. I have no idea what is happening with mmr but this week it's gone completely wonky.
-
Yes. Yes you can say hello to that friendly t bagger that went down in 5 seconds.
-
It's cosmetics. Complaining about this is ridiculous. Find something real to worry about the game. Not what shirt your wearing.
-
Nah she's not great but she's better than she was. Throwing a full chase build on her and utilizing her drones for stealth at that perfect time when approaching a gen or even in the middle of a chase to confuse the survivor is quite fun.
-
If your team specifically tries to kill you or bodyblock you I will let you have a front row seat while I slaughter them and escort you to the hatch. Other than that mercy is a thing of the past. Since I don't like running gen regression I need to be going full throttle and that leaves little time for mercy.
-
No. I think that stacking haste should be removed from all perks as basekit for entire game rather than individual perks. I think nerfing a entire perk revealed a problem this game has with stacking effects. Strong perks are fine. The problem is when strong perks stack into what would be considered a op effect.
-
Actually I would say she I stronger than ever if you play for the condemned strat with right addon's and perks. If they were going for that I'd say they succeeded in making her stronger. For standard play though I agree she is worse than ever.
-
I don't have a problem with one window per building downstairs but I think when two spawn on the same side of one building that's gotta be a glitch right? Two of those are literally infinites for basic m1 killers. I agree even with them it's still better than old haddonfield but they still suck.

Every chapter recently (with one exception) for killer has had at least one genuinely great perk, as will Chucky's. You're trying to make a pattern out of this one perk that was nerfed, when the majority of killer perks are either pretty good or mediocre in their PTB.
In the past few chapters, we've had: Friends 'Til The End, Ultimate Weapon, Forced Hesitation, Nowhere To Hide, and Terminus. That's just the great perks, let alone the just pretty good ones - and not counting how many good killers we've gotten recently, either.
Also, MFT hasn't even existed for one year, let alone being slept on for "years". I'll grant that was likely an exaggeration, but it's an exaggeration that harms your point rather than helps it.
The real conclusion that can be drawn from this situation is that not every perk's gonna be a winner. Some of them are just kinda mediocre, and while that can absolutely be its own fair criticism, it's not evidence of one-side bias nor is it as dramatic as you're making it out to be.
You missed rapid brutality. Mixed with stbfl it's a great combo on chase builds. Mixed with bamboozle and another chase perk of your choice is a devastating chase build.
-
I actually approved all these options. The kick option could be abused by someone trying to kill themselves on first hook but face it, if they're doing that and you save them they probably won't be any help anyway. The veto might be tricky and need some rules about it but something along the lines would be great. No downside at all for random perk. Especially on killer side for me. Sounds great.
-
I don't want to just stomp on your idea because it has merit from a balancing perspective but players who have spent thousands of hours leveling up and unlocking perks on everyone suddenly being told they cant bring the build they worked so hard to unlock? We would see a massive departure of players. Me included probably. For example I love running 4 aura reads on pyramid head. Overpowered? Not even slightly. But extremely fun for those snipes. Same principle applies for other builds too. If your objective is too limit just overpowered builds I would suggest instead reworking all the perks individually so they can't stack together.
-
I agree. When this happens depending on the game state it can be either extremely funny or literally game ruining if it's a close match. While I can appreciate the humor in it sometimes it has cost me my life enough times to agree it should be removed.

Spoken like a true Windows of opportunity main.
At the very least, the perk needs to go on cooldown / reset its cooldown after hooking a survivor.
I don't actually use windows. The blindness just feels tacked on and sloppy. It doesn't feel like it belongs.
-
There's nothing wrong with the base effect of the scream for uw. The blindness should be removed because it's just a extra annoying effect that doesn't need to be there. But that's just my opinion. It's not overpowered or anything
-
It would be nice if they gave at least the licensed survivors unique animations. And maybe several different ones for originals depending on what hook stage they are when they are down.
-
I just think it is working right now. I just started trying to learn skull merchant. Not really because I want to but so I can learn to counter her. Tired of getting stomped in solo que. And I got a comp team three times. I never played her so why is this happening?
-
Iron will is fine. When crouched or in a locker you are almost completely silent. You just have to use it strategically now instead of getting free stealth.
-
In all seriousness it's not a skill issue. Only the most coordinated swfs can handle a top tier nurse. The killer is broken op. Not a survivor main here just have eyes and can see the obvious. She doesn't need a solo que prevention she needs a serious rework. I play more killer than survivor and when I want a easy match I just play her. I haven't lost a match with her in months and that shouldn't be the case.
-
If it came with the killer buffs you mentioned and safeguards so it can't be abused than I have no issue with this. I don't think people actually want to tunnel, sometimes the game state just gives you a choice, tunnel or lose.
-
It doesn't matter. It's there if you want it and to be ignored if you don't. It doesnt need changes since it's not what the shrine is for in the first place. It's to unlock perks for killers you don't want to level up. Anything else is just bonus.
-
Nemesis zombies. I know they help him make up for lack of mobility and map control but I swear those little bastards are always conveniently placed behind whatever door I'm going through or my gen. They're fine but they drive me nuts.
Residual manifest. Not even strong and doesn't do much of anything so the only reason to bring it is to ANNOY THE KILLER!!!
