Here's one instance. Blind wouldn't take place until after pallet was broken

  • @playingsomedbd said:

Experiencing the same bug. It can happen during the pallet stun animation, while they're breaking the pallet, or picking up players. You can blind them, but its taking around 3x the usual blind length, which means you can't get blinds on killers in the usual ways from fixed animations.

Here is a GIF image showcasing this bug:

In a normal working situation, the plague would have been blinded right as the pallet stun animation ended.

Exactly. I have some clips of it too I just need to stop being lazy and edit them

I mean… please try to explain to me how you would be inconvenienced by this proposed changed?

you would not be character locked unless you hit the ready up in the lobby with killer/survivors. Which you shouldn’t do if you are still changing characters anyway because anytime everyone can just ready up and then it’s go time and then you would be character locked anyways.

unless you are in a swf and your whole ‚strategy‘ is one of you isn’t setting ready up so that you can all ‚unexpectedly‘ change characters I really don’t see a scenario where anyone would be hindered by this but it could help some people which could kinda count as an accessibility adjustment…

so please, without just insulting me or the op, explain how this change would actually hinder you?

Bro you can't argue with people who are set in their toxic mindsets. Thanks for the defense

  • @Mooks said:

Why are people so mean towards a basic suggestion/request that wouldn’t harm anyone

you realize Op is talking about ready up in the pregame lobby and not ready up to start to search for a lobby?!

when I played controller the character switch happened to me too often on accident by just laying down the controller or quickly grabbing something and the bumping into the controller. It happens and it would actually make sense to lock in the character with ready up - while still being able to switch/level up other characters when taking it out without leaving the lobby?!

Only level headed person on these forums. Thank you 🙏

  • Again the change doesn't hurt you and would help anyone who has a similar issue. So grow up and realize the world doesn't revolve around you and your non sweaty hands 🤷

  • @Wowie said:

    get better maybe

i don't want my creature to be locked

what if there's another cheryl and i want to party but i've loaded in as jeff from dumping BP?

Get better......man I never thought about that. Lemme go get better at not accidentally hitting a button while picking up my controller or setting it down or moving it. You wouldn't be "locked" into anything unless you are readied up so don't ready up or unready and change. Use your brain a lil buddy

  • @Superyoshiegg said:

Or, get this, stop pressing the swap survivor button after you've readied up.

There's zero need to take away freedom of choice from players to accommodate your mistakes.

I like leveling up my various survivors while waiting in the lobby.

Idk if you can read or not but when you ready up on lobby that means you are ready to play. If you wanna level up then don't ready up and let the timer run out until the game starts? Literally doesn't affect you at all but cry more please.

That is a nerf though... what you're doing is slashing the whip/tail across at an angle rather than straight down, which is exactly what you would do in real life if someone tried to dodge to the side.

Have you ever tried to land Nemesis whip without dragging? Between accounting for lag, the odd hitboxes, spin techs and invisible walls blocking hits on occasion, it's borderline unplayable without dragging... especially on console.

Xeno tail has all the same issues, but is easier to land because of the speed you can throw it out, however it suffers more with hitting terrain because that stops their tail immediately, which on turn means you have to aim well.

If someone is hitting you with a drag on Xeno tail they have successfully avoided catching any terrain while doing it, and otherwise aimed their drag well to change the angle of attack...

This is an unnecessary nerf that just dumpsters the killer...

Additionally. This isn't real life....it's a video game. The same standards don't apply my dude lol

So I guess in that mindset we should give huntress the ability to control her hatches mid throw and drag them to the side so that even if she misses she can whip the hatched across and score a hit. Since we are doing it for some why not do it for all? Pyramid Head misses judgement? Let him drag it as well and score a free hit.

I main Nemesis and I almost never need to drag whip to hit. The problem with y'all playing him is you force yourself to whip instead of hitting and easy m1 when they are up close.

Killers need to have counterplay and xenos counter play currently doesn't work well because single turrets are weak and the hitbox lasts so long for her m2 that it's unavoidable except by luck or random poor hit scan that needs to be fixed.

Unless killer attacks are only active for one frame, they can be dragged. You can use an M1 and turn immediately to spread the hitbox. Frame data isn't easily accessible for this game, but I don't think killers would be able to land hits consistently if they only had one active frame.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. But killer attacks definitely don't feel like they only have a single active frame.

They aren't a single frame it's a timed hit box. Not asking for a single frame as I play killer and that would be miserable. What I'm saying is xeno has a long hit animation and then can extend that animation after they have missed on a full extended m2 and still score a hit by dragging the m2 across

I do it all the time on ghostie. Useful for people who try to spin to dodge attacks. Bear in mind, xeno doesn't have any long range attacks. His melee is just a further reach on his m2, but it's still just a melee attack.

Xenos tail is a medium ranged attack.....bro what are you talking about? Is it a hatchet? No. Is it a short ranged m1? No. It's a middle ranged lunge that has a good amount of reach to it.

Huntress hatches are just a further reach of her m1...see how silly that sounds? 😅

  • @Devil_hit11 said:

xeno dragging is only thing that differentiates a mediocre Xeno player vs the very very best Xeno player. It is unfun to nerf killer's skill-ceiling.

A good xeno doesn't need to drag because they don't miss typically unless the survivor is at a good loop. the skill ceiling isn't nerfed they just don't have a crutch of "oh I missed let me flick my mouse and still score a hit anyways".

  • @RpTheHotrod said:

No m1 attack drags the full swing animation is how you hit them. The spin you are doing is just turning your melee in the direction of the surv to merge the hitboxes. Once the melee animation finishes though and if you miss, the knife doesn't drag and still score a hit. Xeno however can miss and still score a hit. If you miss with an m1 you just miss. That's why survivor is able to spin killers.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

I mean he can't even hit/register the hitbox on Survivors sometimes...

Which is not okay either and should be fixed but doesn't get rid of the original point.

  • @Seraphor said:

Use turrets to deny the killer their power.

That's what they exist for. Xeno should have a powerful, intimidating attack, because they also have a built in counter.

If Xeno's tail attack is nerfed to the point where is worse than Nemesis' tentacle, then why do turrets even exist?

Turrets don't take them out of power most of the time unless there are 2 set up right next to each other which takes lots of time to plan out.

It's not a nerf it would be a fix as it shouldn't be dragging in the first place. Deathslinger can't drag his spear why should xeno and nemi be able to?

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

    Xeno is just fine.

I don't think he needs any nerf.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3593735#Comment_3593735

Nemesis can do that as well. And devs never said they are bug or not intended. And they are fine anyway.

I know that's why I said that in what you quoted lol

  • @UndeddJester said:

Xeno is fine though... Good options for counterplay, fun and engaging for both sides if you use your brain... probably one of the better balanced killers BHVR has done.

In fact my only criticism is we didn't get to see how Xeno played at the 2m/s miss slowdown without the game breaking 0 slowdown bug... but Xeno is plenty fine with a high skill ceiling and engaging chases.

Maybe a little too good at tunneling... but what killer isn't right now?

Not asking for a nerf just to fix the drag effect the tail has after a miss. The hitbox should end at the full extension of the tail

  • @CatnipLove said:

But, that's just how killer attacks work in this game. If you think it's an issue, fair enough. But it's not a Xeno problem.

No they don't? Name another killer that can drag a long range ability or any ability for that matter? All m1 killers either hit or miss and all range killers hit or miss. The only 2 with the "drag" effect is xeno and nemesis.

  • @neasbasement said:

Maybe not change the spawn but the distance it’ll register so that you have to be touching it to get in. I think this would help with the vault issue but also wouldn’t change up the plays if someone had like quick and quiet because you would just have to take the loop tighter to be hugging the wall and brush the locker.

Nah I'll add some clips where the locker would still suck you in no matter what

Damn, you really want her useless.

If you get tagged by her drone with Sprint burts, something is wrong with your pathing...

How would she be useless? One trap scan is 5% haste for free, no bloodlust or requirements needed. Go to next loop or survivor not being chased gets scanned? Another stack of haste for free. It would just make her less oppressive.

Or if you go the hindered route, each scan hinders the survivor for 5 or 6 seconds helping to end chase.

The problem with her is the stacking hastes and hindered combine is literally impossible to play against no matter how good you are unless it's a baby killer just learning the ropes. Nothing I said is unreasonable as she has a high kill rate just from my experience against her. I haven't had a single game where she didn't 3k. Again this isn't comp SWF this is SOLO q which is a majority of players.

Reporting the dev won’t do anything. It’s their game, and they decided they want killers to have this negative quality of life, even though it’s easily fixable. The “drop survivor” button could be changed to a “pickup or drop survivor” button.

So now we’re in a situation where both sides should suffer, out of fairness.

It's not "their" game it's BHVRs game and one person doesn't dictate the state of things. If enough people complain about something broken it gets fixed. That's how it's supposed to work.

By your logic survivor should be able to slug the killer and watch them bleed out since the killer can do it to survivors. Eye for an eye right? Something about the world going blind right? Again, horrible mindset to have. "Instead of fix world hunger make everyone suffer the same" essentially is what you just said in an extreme scenario of course.

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

A while ago, I asked if killers could have a separate button to pick up survivors, and a dev literally told me to “deal with it”.

So I think windows and lockers absolutely should be thrown next to each other, and survivors should “deal with it”.

Or the dev should be reported and made to do better? Horrible take on that brother.

  • Her speed bonuses + hindered makes her impossible to play against. The fact she can keep pace with a lithe or sprint burst just from the drone scan haste alone is ridiculous. She really doesn't have counter play other than hold W but that doesn't get you far for long against her. If she had one or the other haste or hindered from scans it would feel less ridiculous to go against. Both is way too much imo from playing against her a lot.

My only other change is the 8 seconds of undetectable she gets per trap. That combined with her add-ons that increase the duration and haste make her impossible to see coming in anything other. I truly don't see how she can have so much going for her just by preswing 1 button.

My suggestion would be a survivor can only gain one claw trap PER trap. To gain another trap they would have to run through a different trap scan. Undetectable duration is 4 seconds and add-ons can increase this.

Just get on a gen. Not once in the history of DbD has a killer stopped tunneling because another survivor ran after them and witnessed it. Maybe tank a hit to buy them some time, but that's it. Exactly

No, I mean I never said every game I do a 5 gen chase, but most of the times on average if the killer is good I can do 3 gen chases, some times 5 gen chases. How do you explain that both survivor and killer players who have 10k hours and high mmr do it?theres lots of youtube videos demonstrating it, you think they also always go against potato killers every match too? Obviously not.

You can either try to be best everyday or cry about how everything is miserable to you and how impossible it is for you to reach your goals and give up from the start and never try it or you can literally just try to get better. It seems like the player mentality from this community tends to be ''i'm never gonna get better so I'm gonna cry about it on the forums''

"How do you explain that both survivor and killer players who have 10k hours and high mmr do it?"

My man you are answering your own questions. Most players don't have 10k hours and not everyone person on the planet is capable of achieving the same skill level. You sound young and ignorant or are trying to sound profetic to look cool and neither is a good look man.

Get to a pallet, these days there are so many safe pallets you can drop, killer breaks it, bloodlust resets, the whole chase is reset. if the killer is bloodlusting you so bad that they need to get bloodlust 3 to get you then I wouldn't even conciser him/her a good killer and should probably not be a problem for the average survivor to loop him/her. As killer I rarely get to the point where I need bloodlust 3 to catch a survivor, and as survivor is easy to reset the bloodlust with a pallet, just learn to loop and learn how and when to migrate to a different area...

Literally contridicting yourself man. "As killer I rarely get to the point where I need bloodlust 3 to catch a survivor".

Also there's way more unsafe palettes now than there are safe pallets especially with the map reworks. The game is the only map that really stands out and that's just because there are so many pallets to use you don't need to greed them.

  • @Ink_Eyes said:

To be honest the counterplay for being tunneled is getting better at the game, get good at looping. I have gotten into 5 gen chases because the killer wants to tunnel me so hard that we end up winning with the killer getting nothing in the end. But it seems like ''get better at the game'' is an impossible task for some people especially for this community.

You either play against potato killers constantly or are cheating because to loop every killer on a 5 gen chase all the time is ridiculous to expect of every player. That's pro level play and most people who play are average at looping or it's an anti loop killer(which is how it should be or killer would be pointless to play).

So again the counterplay is do gens. Some people will complain about gen times but really it's just them no putting any pressure because they are tunneling out 1 player.

  • Mft is not even that good? The problem is it shouldn't stack with Hope in endgame. MFT is only "strong" against someone less experienced with the slower killers but really it is not worth the perk slot since most killers have ways to outplay it with ease.

The only time MFT is actually super useful is while running Were gunna live forever and using the speedy healing + endurance for a slugging killer but even then it's VERY situational.

  • The map isn't that bad minus a few loops here and there that need to be changed. The catwalks with open centers for instance where you can leap across them as killer and hit survivor on the stairs or as survivor fall onto the railing and glide over to the stairs. C33, Alch Ring, and Vial are really the only add-ons that are strong and need a nerf, other than that, it's fair.

I don't get why people hate one of the most hardest killers to learn that's also the most funnest to play.

It's rare you come across a good Blight like Array, Momo, or V1, most normally make lots of mistakes (also depends on RNG and survivor efficiency) so more power to you.

No offense buddy but even then it is only GG if you give oni the information to catch people and then not loop him during his power which is completely possible if the oni is of similar skill level...

Predrop IN CHASE man, not when the game begin

Maybe learn the basic mechanics and accumulate at least a hundred hours of gameplay before complaining about a killer who is, at most, mid tier

300+ hours of gameplay, good at looping, videos to prove it. Nothing you say will change my mind that he needs slight adjusting with his blood pools. There's a reason that if he gets hits within 30 seconds it's ggs. That's because he NEEDS ADJUSTING. Again SLIGHT adjusting. I never said he was broken or op or needs a nerf to the ground. SLIGHT adjusting.

Y'all act like the game isn't killer sided other than high tier swf which is 1% of players.

You are not supposed to ore drop pallets from a mile away? Serious question: Are you new to the game? Because if not how are you not familiar with what the term predropping means?

And back to my previous comment, if you pre drop, he insta breaks it, quickly recovers and is right back on you. Yes you can do this and chain pallets IF there are good pallets, IF you get lucky with a good layout and then all pallets are gone in 1-2 minutes and the rest of the game is an unsafe map. That's hoping your team was doing gens and not hiding or afk or etc. You can't balance the game based on swf high MMR or the rest of the 95% of players suffer.

Like I said in the post he doesn't need major changes just something minor with the blood orbs preferably

That is just not true, he needs to earn his power, when played against properly he looses 2-3 gens before getting his power. His counter is looping and playing safe when he does not have his power and basically using the fact that he has limited turning while in his power to dodge it and besides that loop rather normally or in ways he cannot turn...

And healing with other people did not get touched, just healing with a med kit...

You act like most survivors can loop like pros. Most solo qs are not pros and you need to realize that and stop trying to balance things around that mentality

  • @Archol123 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3570021#Comment_3570021

If you manage to get hit by a pure m1 killer like Oni without his power that's kind of on you... Also thanatophobia does not influence heal speed does it? So the only thing is sloppy... Come on man...

You realize that half the killers are m1 killers right? And they all are viable with the right build just some less than others at high level play. Saying "just don't get hit" when the odds are stacked against you on purpose is brainless response.

  • @pigslittlepet said:

Oni's power in my opinion is the strongest in the game. That is why it is so hard to get. Pre drop pallets and keep yourself healed and it seriously reduces how much of the game he can deploy. Sure if you just sit on a gen injured he's gonna have unlimited power. He doesn't need a nerf. People just need to stop greeting pallets so much. And I know you love you mft and resilience but against him they aren't worth staying injured.

Don't run either of those much as they don't do anything against mobility killers which are what most people use these days.

  • @Maperson said:

Can we stop asking for nerfs for literally anything we dislike?

It's not about "dislike" it's about balance. He has very strong map pressure, high mobility, aoe one hits with add ons and no real counter other than "heal" which has been gutted for survivor. He's really hard to loop more than a few seconds when in power and has a charge ready after every chase/hook.

You misunderstood. You predrop so he doesn't get a hit until mid to late game.

Solves most of your oni problems.

Except he gets a notification when you predrom pallets and or breaks them as he comes across them before chase even starts. Not sure how you think that's a good strat?

  • @Archol123 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/395081/demon-dash-changes

I think when he is in his power additional blood orbs don't spawn, not sure on that one... Oni is a killer that basically has no power before he gets at least one hit, just delay that one hit. His power is as strong as it is because it is time limited...

No killer should get the billy treatment, they butchered him way too much... Oni is fine as he is...

Also I don't really know what you mean by unlimited power? Because you could just heal and play stealthy while he is in his power and there is certainly much you can do against him in chase, watch some good players or guides.

The way healing has gotten nerfed to the ground you'll never get a gen done vs oni with any anti healing perks like sloppy, thanstaphobia, etc.

I think once he hits power blood orbs on the map should all disappear and once he ends power they start pooling again from injured survivors.

  • @radiantHero23 said:
