Not trying to downplay your experience so far, but give it more than a few hours before talking about how op he is. I've escaped with 3 out 6 of 8 games so far.

Bam is an addon, is not basekit. I agree it is somewhat strong.
Without that, TPing to a window in chase is mostly useless. The survivor sees you transforming into a cloud and going into a window, and he can just go into another direction while Dracula keeps teleporting to it.
Also, what is wrong with hellfire? It has cooldown, slowdown, counterplay (bait it and dodge) and its hindered by not being able to go through high obstacles.
He can trap you at tons of locations with hellfire being on a 6 second cooldown, guarantee hits through vaults and pallets slides but take no drawback being able to shape shift to bat and catch up in seconds and repeat. It's just too much counterplay to anything a survivor does. 6 second cooldown on miss is fine but on a hit and then you bat form, catch up and hit again with it is wild

I get hit through so many pallet drops now it's discouraging me from even playing.

Ill take a totem any day 😩

By it not being bannable means it is an INTENDED FEATURE. Bleeding out has even been said as a valid way to end the game as it's a way to make the sure the game doesn't go forever, just because YOU don't agree with it doesn't mean not intended. I pointed out clear mistakes on you and your teams side but it's something you don't want to hear. You and your team made mistakes against a killer player clearly not meant for your guys' caliber. But even then you guys yourselves incentivize the slug by staying near one another against an insta down killer. This could literally happen with old billy btw.
What you guys SHOULD have done is spread out on gens especially against a billy and start running at the first sign of terror radius until you're forced to actually loop. But your one mistake spiraled into the whole team getting slugged. You might not like to hear it but that is the absolute truth of the situation.I spy a killer main

So it can't be you or your teams fault at all? Got it. But either way you and your team incentivized the slug and not hooks by not going for objectives and forcing chases away from the slugs.
Also saw in a previous message you said "not playing the game as intended"
Hope this helps (specifically the timestamp 1:38)Man you are so disconnected from the survivor side or the game it's no wonder killers keep getting stronger and survivor gets weaker.
That vid proved what exactly? That it's not bannable to slug? Never said it was I said he didn't play as intended. You know hooking survivors. The way the game was meant to be played.
-
That's exactly what the randoms did. Billy is so fast with so little recovery that he can instantly be on you the moment you are up
-
@Brimp said:
So at 18 seconds in the video what are you even waiting for? You spin in place losing you distance to the pallet which ultimately ends up getting you downed way earlier. Hell you should have been holding W from the moment he downed Zarina, especially after he decided to randomly saw presumably because he already saw your scratch marks from before. Your mistake there was either altruism or hesitation which lead to over altruistic actions of the other survivors.
No the problem is killer refused to hook anyone until he slugged all 4. That's the issue. Guess all the killer mains or on the forums tonight.

This is just a video of you and your team getting rocked
Solo q bud. And yes rocked by a billy not playing the game as intended. Leaving no time to do anything but scramble.

Anti slug perks like what? Name ONE that would have helped and tell me how it would have helped. He went from person to person downing one at a time leaving no time to do gens as we had to focus on pick ups since he wasn't hooking and the second someone got picked up he would m1 back down. Even if we had buckle up thats only 10 seconds of endurance and then you are back down. "Mistakes" such as? Losing at loops not designed well against a killer with good turn, high speed and a insta down that gets better as you use it with no downside? Oh right. Mistakes.
-
Because one hatchet injures you and has unlimited range. Deathslinger has 15m range and trickster requires multiple hits to injure you. Her windup time was reduced, her movement speed while holding was increased and they gave her some haste add-ons when landing a hatchet. She's good and especially sinister on a seasoned player.

So which killers do you LIKE going against?
Literally any killer but plague and SM. Wasn't a fan of clown simply cause the bottles made nauseous from the old effect but play wise he's fine. Hell even The Artist at least takes some planning to use right and they give a way to drop the birds off with lockers.

Do you think you would have won if she had different addons? Sounds like you got guys got rocked by a good Huntress.
Won? Who knows. Lasted longer? Definitely. That extra haste is the difference between making the next loop or getting dropped quickly, especially with her increased movement speed while holding, wind up time decrease, etc. not to mention stacking that with other haste related perks like batteries included, pwyf, etc

3% haste for 5 seconds is literally nothing lol. You spend almost 2 seconds recovering from the throw and no one is gonna use both add ons together because Shiny Pin/ GC is better. I can’t believe a single person finds these problematic. They aren’t strong enough tbh, Yew Seed used to hinder survivors for 30 seconds, Coarse stone slowed gen repair speeds for 60 seconds.
Played 2 games against killer running them game was literally over before at 4 and 5 gens. The already good buffs to huntress are now way more noticable.
-
Yes and no. There are a lot of perk builds I try to make work like sabo builds, heal builds, escape builds, endgame builds, etc. The problem is i have to run them multiple times to get value out of them even once due to the killer and perks they are against. Some killers and perks completely negate entire builds which is fine and why I run jack of all trades type builds now. A little bit of healing, something chase oriented, something for anti tunnel and usually a flashlight or medkit related perk depending on if I'm going for saves or long chases.
The problems with some builds like sabo or saves is they get you tunneled out pretty early on unless you wait until endgame to utilize them.

trapper and hag can re-arm and replace phantasms. I have no issues playing vs skull merchant. Ohtofu is right. survivor that d/c vs skull merchant are simply entitled/whiny.
They also need to go to where the trap was placed, spend time placing it. SM can recall and replace her drones at will which then give her undetectable.
-
@HamsterEnjoyer said:
The more people try and describe her power to make her seem stronger than she actually is the more I doubt any of you actually understand what she does
Pushes button - passive scan, gets haste, 2 scans, more haste, 3 scans , injured, hindered, more scans, hindered. All while gaining Undetectable for each drone and no slow down to plant a drone. I don't think you play her if you can't understand those basic concepts. She pushes a button and the drone does all the work passively without any further assistance
-
Trappers traps are one small tiny area. Her drones are a huge radius. Big difference. He also doesn't gain Undetectable or the ability to track as a passive when picking up or setting traps.
If they made her drones a smaller radius, took away Undetectable and only kept the haste or the hindered not both she would be better. She has too many buffs from one button

Nah cant agree, tunneling doesnt take anything away from the survivor. We still get all the standard chances of a typical match, the just get pushed back to back.
Tunneled or not the survivor gets multiple chances to succeed;
1. Use stealth and Avoid detection
2. Escape the 1st chase and avoid damage
3. Escape the 2nd chase and avoid a down
If unable to escape a single chase then the survivor has lost out on no gameplay and is completely dependant on teammates, not the killer, for additional opportunity. Being unable to work on or even touch a generator is the personal responsibility of that Survivor player until hooked.
Unless the killer is sending messages, I see now reason to assign malice for situationally beneficial tactics.
This comment is how I know you don't play survivor at all LMFAO.
-
Good killer design? Yes. Balance changes needed? Yes
More slow down when charging uvx. He should not be able to charge a ranged shot while keeping pace with you enough to cancel with little cooldown and m1.
Shots should not be able to go through floors and walls. I'm not talking like nemi whip hit box where you can crouch to avoid behind short walls. I'm talking being long full size walls. It makes absolutely no sense why those should go through floors and walls.
Change those and I think he would be perfect

What does slugging for the 4K really have to do with his power?
Against any insta down killer you are probably not going to get the pick up easily.
You have to choose between the risk of helping a team mate and self preservation.
Did you even read what I was replying to?

@DemonDaddy said:
I dont get the emphasis some survivors put on the # of gens and how that should dictate the killers actions. Its never a bad time to use effective tactics.
If I'm running survivor with flashlight and killer is getting run around pretty good I'm less inclined to go for saves as it would make the experience miserable for the dude that's already struggling. It means they were queued into a lobby with people they should be playing against and it's not their fault or they are on a new killer and trying to learn. A tunneling killer is totally different as they are being toxic and should suffer the consequences.
if it's a sweaty match where both sides are fighting for their lives then I absolutely have no problem doing what it takes to win and killer should do the same. But to tunnel and slug when not a single gen has been done is extremely toxic and killers need to be punished for not playing the game as intended aka hooking survivors. There's a reason survivors have multiple hook phases and to by pass that and let people bleed out on the ground or all get 1 hooked before a single gen is done makes no sense
-

Of course. Because you understand very well what kind of killer SM is and what it wants to do. It's as simple as having the knowledge and being able to do the right thing, but it seems that many survivors, unlike you, are unable to do that.
They then shift the blame for problems caused by lack of knowledge and skills onto the killer. Because it's much easier to do that than to develop the knowledge and skills to do the right thing.
Most people know how to play against SM. The problem is the playstyle is run to loop, drone gets dropped, you get zoned, scanned or hit and move to next loop IF you make it while she has haste or perks like rapid brutality which makes her faster than God stacked together. She can drop drone mid chase to lose red stain and mind game at an instant. No other killer gets these amount of buffs from the push of a single button
-
@Crowman said:
The only thing sending out a drone does is make her Undetectable for a few seconds. The haste only happens when the drones actually scan survivors. Hindered only happens when a drone scans a survivor with a claw trap. The damage only happens when you get scanned 3 times and become claw trapped.
Also drones around gens aren't the most effective, because working on a gen makes you immune to being scanned.
Did she do anything other than put a drone out to get those buffs? Nope. No other interactions other than wait for somebody to walk through it. Therefore one button five statuses
-
I forgot to mention you ALSO get Undetectable!! AND the ability to track tagged targets! 5 buffs from one button! AMAZING!

I'm talking about overheat not overdrive, the mechanic he has before overdrive that gave him a cooldown/resource meter for his chainsaw and was universally hated and ruined the killer for the vast majority of players and made him one of the least played killersin the game.
Sorry overdrive*
-
@Friendly_Blendette said:
We are slowly going to revisionism ourselves into saying overheat was a good mechanic lmfao.
He never needed over heat just better control over turning and slightly less collision to prevent hits that made no sense. Overheat is cool but WAY to powerful for crossing the map and almost no cooldown between saws
-
Billy was way over tuned. No downside to using his power and missing which every killer needs especially high mobility killers like billy who can cross map in literally a couple seconds. Ridiculous control now and less collision makes him impossible to juke our outplay at most loops. Lack of cooldown especially in overheat and pair that with bbq it's ggs unless everyone runs distortion.

Given the fact that u can only use an effective Dead Hard twice in a match, it should be able to be used if u haven't used it yet after the killer hits u off the hook. Killer hits u immediately off the hook then tunnels, we should get a dead hard usage during mending. Complain and cry about how dumb this is tunneling killers
DH strait up sucks. Not worth using. It doesn't work 50% of the time which is unacceptable for a perk you get to use at most 2 times. It should be usable for ever hook stage so a max of 3. The activation time needs to be faster. It feels so delayed and often doesn't happen at all.
-
Tunneled at 4-5 gens 10/14 games today. The other 4 someone else was tunneled. DBD is boring now and it's the players faults

@Nazzzak said:
It's not bannable or reportable. They don't consider it hostage taking since you're actively bleeding out so the game will end in a few minutes. I just walk away from the game and find something else to do in that situation. Let them amuse themselves.
I either need an instant bleedout button or there needs to be a penalty for this. It's obsurd how often it happens.

Looked like a valid hit to me, was barely even through the window.
You realise the killers hitbox reaches through the window right? It can look a bit funky on Chucky because he's short, but all killers share the same basic attack hitbox.
Cleared the vault and almost on my feet running away, she swung from the side and turned through the window to hit. No it doesn't make sense and it wouldn't make sense regardless of the killer. A straight on lung MAYBE should hit there but from the side? Never.

Okay, I normally don't do this but:
Buddy, did you really assume my playstyle there with "your tunneling meta".
Dude, I haven't played this game in the last 3 years.
And I don't know how often I said it on this forum but the 2 years prior to me quitting I played exactly as I described above. No tunneling, no camping and slugging only to avoid killing someone before the 8th hook. It was an experiment to see if survivor show appreciation for this kind of killer going by how much complaints I have seen over the years. (Hint: 80-90% don't.)
I don't really care what survivor run nowadays but saying tunneling is the exclusive reason is a bunch of BS.
If you haven't played in 3 years anything you think or say is completely invalid. Hop off the forums or hop on the game.

100% agree. He's very strong at pallet and window denial, winning loops/mind games from the uncloak speed and has good map pressure not knowing where he is or seeing him coming 99% of the time. He almost always gets a free hit when catch you on a gen just from his speed.

You say it's Not Problematic?
Ight.. Lemme know how you're gunna counter that once you get to Endgame and they Ftp + Buckle up in your face to the Door, =D
The Combo IS problematic and it needs to be changed for the Health of the game.
There are so many uncounterable or near uncounterable killer sided perk combos and add-ons. I think y'all are just seeing this more often because it's currently popular as one of the few survivor perk combos that actually work well to counter tunneling and very oppressive killers. It takes a lot of coordination to do and almost never happens in solo q. I've seen it maybe 3 or 4 times solo q which is a majority of the player base.

@Raconteurminator said:
like there are killers who can insta down and take people out of the game at 0 hooks, but picking someone up off of the floor and them having endurance for 10 seconds is where we draw the line? i think people need to stop being babies and let the game have some variety and enjoy it as it is.
It's not the picking someone up with endurance part that's the issue, it's the being able to do it in the Killer's face with no repercussions part that's the issue. Counter-play is minimal, sometimes just non-existent.
You mean just like the killer taking someone out at 0 hooks, with no repercussions, in a survivors face? Almost like there's no counterplay? Stop complaining about something that is already in use by the otherwise unless you want both taken out.
-
@H2H said:
I don’t really have an issue with it either. I mean, it takes two perks, requires a second person to be in a dangerously close position to a chase to even pull it off, and now you have two people injured instead of one. Seems like a fair trade.
And the second person near the chase is not doing gens nor will be after as they both will be chased by killer or need to mend.

Honestly don't think they care anymore. Pretty sure it's time to retire DBD for good. Too many bugs and a team who doesn't care about anything but the next cosmetic.
-
@Xernoton said:
Ok. I'll keep that in mind.
So I start a chase after walking across the map for about 10 seconds, then switch after 30 seconds (that's about the time it takes to realise, that It's taking too long) and then go for the next chase, which takes just as long. The first 3 gens usually pop around the 90 seconds mark and I still don't have a down. Now I realise I can't commit to the second chase either because it takes just as long, so I switch targets again. So in the time it took the survivors to finish 55% of their objective, I haven't made any progress at all and the map still has almost all its resources.
Do you see the problem? The killer's early game is always bad because they haven't applied any pressure yet and survivors still have all their resources. But if the killer can't get a down, then they don't build up any pressure and the survivors continue to progress unchallenged.
Also, tunneling and slugging are the most effective they have been in years because nobody tries to counter them and they can turn around these matches. The killer will not just give up because you pre dropped 5 pallets in the first chase. They will more than likely try to turn the match around and the big 3 of DBD (tunneling, slugging, camping) are always available.
If that's how all your matches get then
1. You are playing bad or in the wrong MMR
2. You chose poor perk combos
3. You lost to better player's which is supposed to happen 50%-60% of the time otherwise there's no point to playing survivor if you always lose.
If you take that long to find survivors in early game then you gotta play more and recognize spawn points for easy early game pressure. If your excuse is "those strats work well" then killer mains can't complain that survivors do gens because that start also works well. Survivors don't just wanna sit on gens though it's boring for us, we want another objective or a new way to interact we just don't have one so it's either aimlessly walk around or so gens.
-
@MortallicDemons said:
this game is sooooooooooo boring. do yourselves a favor and just uninstall and move on man
Honestly I think a lot of the problem is gens. If there was something more interactive and more fun that sitting on a gen and pushing a button every once in awhile survivor would feel more fun to play and killers MIGHT feel less inclined to play that way. I say might because I think half of them enjoy being as toxic as possible
Unlike survivor who's only objective and only thing to do outside of being chased is gens (which needs a serious mechanical overhall) killers have the option to play off 4 survivors. So tunneling and camping 1 is super childish

???
You know that the delay is most probably in there because the killer isn't instantly teleported away from a hook when hoisting a survivor up there?
Why should it start to progress at a point where killer physically can't do anything but be next to the hook?
The second the hook animation completes the bar should start progressing to force killer away from hook and encourage them not to stick around. Especially with so many killers having mobility or teleportation abilities it's easy for them to be gone in seconds.
Either that or the longer killer remains within the hook "camping" distance the faster the bar begins to progress so that killers without mobility aren't screwed more than others.
-
https://youtu.be/yZG3CgQMy9Q?si=KV-JUlVR_ZnGgOD6
This has happened to me every game for the past hour now. I've reset my console, playing with a wired controller doesn't make a difference, my internet is working fine, this is the only game this happens to me on. No it's no my brand new ps pro controller.
-
Most of this issue comes from high mobility killers using Lethal Pursuer and getting quick downs. The solution would be to add a downside to lethal which would prevent killer from using power for the duration of the initial aura reading at the start of the game. This would prevent blight, nurse and Wesker from instantly being on you within the first 5 or 6 seconds and getting a free hit.
-
The bar just needs to fill up faster and start filling as soon as killer hooks you there's a few seconds of delay post hook. I think that would fix the issue. As far as gens being close by on 2 story maps it should be tied to floors as well so a survivor running underneath hook doesn't stop the progress bar.
