Nah, it's abuser issue. Abusing bugs.
We will see real skills when devs fix his bugs.
You're not going to be happy either way if they do and Blights bump logic more. You're gonna want hug teching to come back.
-
Don't know why this is still being dragged out, we all know and can agree after that 50 minute scrim, her playstyle is busted.
Yes, depending on the situation, it can be the survivors fault for not breaking a 3 gen and working together, however;
Her power offers nothing but an unhealthy playstyle that's not fun for either side. It's not always the survivors fault for getting 3 genned. If an SM is going to 3 gen, they are going to 3 gen, and they probably are not going to leave that 3 gen leaving it to be a boring match and battle of attrition.
The hate towards the killer is deserved, primarily because of design flaw that allows her power to be abused and drag games out. The killers design really offers nothing but a boring playstyle. Don't get why we're trying to defend the killer and point blame to the survivors.
I feel that SM main that went against Eternal knew they were going to lose so they chose to make Eternal's time a living hell, and it was not Eternal's fault for the match lasting that long.
If SM could be a chase killer with fair passive slow down, I don't think she'd be that big of a problem, but when the killer's only strength is babysitting her 3 gens for an hour, there's no reason to defend it. No skill ceiling whatsoever. Instead of arguing and blaming survivors for it being their fault for getting 3 genned, you could also acknowledge Skull Merchant's problem and agree.
-
I could go on forever about this. It's a chore trying to get these performance issues heard.
Can't even play against Twins without my FPS dropping to crap when Charlotte switches to Victor. And my PC is surely optimized so it isn't a "me problem". It's like certain killer actions just make my frames poop
Only thing I've been able to stabilize is my ping. Went from averaging 80-120 ping to a stable 60, but there's still times where I'll end up on the wrong server.
Overall, I'm happy we don't have to suffer from the god awful lag from the Anniversary anymore, but just disappointed at how unserious the devs are taking this.

For the record, the Killer was not good.
They did not chase well at all and relied SOLELY on holding a 3-gen. A bad player held the best players in a 50 minute lobby. They were a pub player (with a huge ego lmao) and had zero comp experience, iirc.
Apparently, Eternal had to deal with 42 Overcharges. Contrary to what people say, Overcharge IS a difficult skillcheck. If it spawns at 4'oclock, you're screwed. It's an RNG check without a cooldown.
Funny enough, I’ve gone against them a couple times as killer in pubs and they’d say how they dog walked me even though I 4k3’d them. They had terrible pathing and looping. When I saw them trash talking KnightLight and agreed to vsing Eternal, I knew it’d be a walk in the park.
If you can’t beat pub players, then you for sure ain’t gonna beat the best comp team. Happy Eternal beat them so maybe, hopefully, they do something with that ego.
edit: not only that, but they are toxic and racist so it was deserved
-
What’s what? The spasmodic breath/agitation bug? It makes the nurses base movement speed faster than 4.6 m/s when they’re carrying a survivor when spasmodic is active. You pair this with iron grasp and starstruck and mad grit even, it’s free and uncounterable unless you hide & stay away, because they’re going to be way faster than you.
I’ve seen a lot of Nurses do this now since everyone is finding out about it, while it’s goofy and silly, just not fun to go against.
-
I’m probably the least tryhard survivor there is and I can still easily loop a Nurse. It’s not about being casual or not, just predicting where they will blink. And looping them around LoS blockers to make them guess and making them auto-aim tiles is probably the efficient way of looping them. Eventually after awhile, you start learning how to counter certain killers by going against them often. Nurses are pretty easy to loop, on the other hand, when they’re bug abusing spasmodic/agitation with iron grasp and starstruck, there’s nothing you can really do but hide and hope for the best.
-
It’s normal tunneling someone out for pressure (if you’re wanting to win), while I agree sweaty games can be tedious and boring, but gen efficient teams, you really can’t screw around if you’re wanting to win as killer.
It’s inevitable. You have good killers that can tunnel efficiently, then, you have the ones who tunnel just to tunnel and that’s where user error comes in.
-
If I had tbh, Nurse really isn’t as strong as she used to be. What I will say is BHVR really needs to fix her spasmodic/agitation bug because I will dodge a Nurse anytime I hear/see one specifically for this reason.

You can’t just tell someone to play another game if the current one is making them miserable
Buddy, it sounds like you’re struggling with the same addiction they are. The same one that I struggled with for several years.
It is not healthy to chase dopamine highs. If I can’t make anyone here realize that, I hope someone else can get you all the help you need.
I love DBD and I wish BHVR all the success in the world. But I cannot in good faith recommend y’all keep playing the game
I am addicted to this game, yes, but that was not what I was getting at. You can't tell someone to play another game if they're not happy with this one when they're a victim to bad actors. Things will never get fixed that way.

You should sit there on the hook, because if you D/C or sac yourself, you’ve taken 2+ minutes of objective time away from your teammates. You queued into the only team role in the game—you should feel obligated to help the team escape.
If you can’t take one for the team, you need to acknowledge that while the game can be fun, most of the time it is not…or acknowledge that you’re not a team player, and you either need to work on yourself or go play a different game.
All that said, BHVR should definitely address the elements of DBD that players use to torment their opponent.
You should consider, however, that some elements (such as sitting on a hook for up to 2 minutes) are problems that may have no real solution.
Sitting on the hook is like being a benchwarmer. You’re probably doing it because you’re the weak link, but you love the game and your team is going to need you at some point so you endure.
So it's their fault for being slugged and getting facecamped on hook?
Also, I doubt it's because they were a "weak link", there are way too many killers that will tunnel to tunnel, or, bleed out or face camp to be toxic or think they're in for an easy 4k. I have seen so many killers mindlessly attempt to tunnel people better than them, and often times will stand there and watch them bleed out or camp them on hook hitting their body until timer runs out.
And most of the time, killers fail to apply pressure slugging and struggle doing so.
I have legit ran a killer for basically 3 gens before and when they finally caught me, guess what? I was getting camped on hook, teammates go for a save, killer tries tunneling me. You can't just tell someone to play another game if the current one is making them miserable. Blame the mechanics being too easy to abuse for malice with little punishment.
Killers putting in effort to win =/= being toxic
"Taking one for the team" works when you're buying your team time to escape, but getting bled out or just face camped on hook til timer runs out is not excusable behavior.

So this is actually a very interesting topic, and yes, we have discussed this (and many other solutions) before settling on this one. The main issue with having some sort of active communication- something that people need to manually use to communicate with others- is that it only helps if people are actually using it. In this sort of case, if someone is bumbling around not quite doing anything as is, we'd be putting an awful lot of faith in them taking the time to use the communication options. They may be a newer player who might not even know about the communication options, might not think to use it in the moment, or may not even care enough to use it.
This is a big part of the reason why we settled on a passive HUD instead. It takes no effort on their part; the moment they do something, everyone knows. It doesn't put the pressure on the player to use it, it happens automatically in the background.
I personally think a communication wheel would've been more helpful. The HUD icons were nice, but all it really did was lead to disappointment. I still get solo queue teammates that will be opening chests while I'm on hook nearing 2nd stage, or cleansing a random totem with 1 gen left when the killer is pressuring gens. It would be nice like DBD mobile where you can tell people to do gens or go for saves or not.
Getting left on hook at endgame collapse when my teammates have 1 to no tallies even. lol

I thought the problem was the hit validation having some weird priorities or something? Not sure I understand the technicalities of it, but can't that be addressed in some way?
At leats in LoL if you have bad ping the only one who is affected by it visibly is you by lagging and freezing etc, The enemies can massacre you meanwhile. Can't the same thing exist for DBD where one's ping affects only their performance and no one else's?
Usually it would impact your performance, survivor definitely, but killers can abuse it I guess. Really might be something that has to do with hit validation. Being extremely laggy should make you whiff your shots, etc, but on DBD it doesn't even matter because you can just stretch your arm out like Reed Richards and are guaranteed a hit on a survivor.
-
I feel bad for those who have to suffer on 100+ ping due to problems out of their control, but it's not fun going against a killer with ping from Mars, or specifically a killer from Japan VPNing on NA servers. Hit validation is absurd, vaults aren't safe because they're just going to swing around the corner and hit you regardless if you've already left the tile. These servers are in need of a major upgrade and more servers expanded.
Killer ping is legit free hits that should never happen, it's like basekit coup + Freddy lunge, and it's one of the most boring and not so fun experiences.

These are all nice ideas. But it doesn't account for the fact that without a penalty, survivors tend to DC the moment they're inconvenienced or begin to lose, or simply encounter a killer they don't like. This will royally screw up MMR, as survivors can DC the moment they're sure to die, or even when they suspect they won't escape, and they will avoid all negative MMR, catapulting survivors up past the soft cap in no time and voiding the entire system. That's simply never going to be allowed to happen.
I think there's other ways around it. Instead of having an escalating DC penalty, you instead have a consecutive DC penalty. As in, if you DC twice in a row, you get a penalty, but if you break up your DCs with full games, you don't. Or you simply allow a couple extra 'free' DCs per day, so instead of starting at 1m and then 5m (essentially 2 free DCs a day), you make the first one free and give players 3 free DCs per day. If you're DCing more than that, you really shouldn't be playing at all.
that's one way to do it
-
@Madjura said:

Instead of removing the penalty because there's a lot of disconnects already and it supposedly can't get worse (it can, it would) we should increase the penalty.
Increase the penalty so it takes even longer for you to find lobbies because of how little people are playing. Got it.
Pulsar explained it perfectly. I'm against bots coming to pubs to begin with, but that really defeats the purpose of keeping the DC penalty.
-
@appleas said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3487495#Comment_3487495
Removing the DC penalty means the amount of people DC-ing will increase because there is no punishment to DC and no incentive to not DC. In the long term, this will mess with the data gathered from trials which may lead to more balance mistakes from the devs because there is a bot in every other game.
People getting annoyed at the DC penalty works both ways, a Survivor can also get annoyed at the Killer DC-ing because they will have to spend more time waiting for another game or might even depip at higher ranks because the game did not go on long enough.
Maybe instead of trying to argue the validity of DC penalties with shallow points, you could think of the long term advantages and disadvantages removing the penalties would have on everyone?
There's DCing left and right already, it can't get any worse removing the penalty. I feel like either the kill rates are going to shoot up from farming bots or it's going to decrease because killers are going to get bored facing bots. Either way, double edged sword.
People are still going to DC when bots come in, so what's the point? As if they don't DC already. Making the punishment harsher will only hurt the population and disincentivize people wanting to play.
It only makes sense to remove the penalty.
-
For it, personally. No point playing it out if everyone DCs and all that's left are bots.
Would rather play with and go against real players.
Plus, if it's a Skull Merchant making the game last an hour or a slugging Nurse struggling to slug and won't pick, I don't want to stay. They can have fun with the bots. I want to have an actual game.
-
I'm hoping the DC penalty will be removed once bots are in, because if my teammates are just going to DC, you aren't going to see me stick around. That's really my only opinion about it.
-
Would love to see it like new DH. Have 2 uses when you're on 2nd hook but keep the difficult skill checks ofc.

Relies on good ping
okOnly works against people who fall for it
So are you saying that Eternal / Elysium players are bad players? Because I just watched tournament yesterday and it worked against them, the Blight would never get hit without the exploit on some of the tiles. So your claim is literally false.helpful against bad tiles that are sometimes hard to bump logic or go through
Meaning it's used for advantage. :)every update changes collision and makes it harder to hug certain tiles you always used to be able to
Good, maybe players can play the Killer the way he was intended?some survivors will hide at a safe tile so it's fun catching people off guard
yes yes it's funif you see a blight looking into something to bump off of, good indication they are going for a hug tech so just leave the tile
One of the worst takes ever? You know that Blight has 5 rushes and can just rush to you when you leave the tile lmao. I feel like only PUB Stomper Blight mains have this argument.subjectively weaker than his add-ons, again, it only works against survivors who stand there instead of leaving
Ah yes, so stay at the tile = get hit thanks to exploit, leave the tile =get hit because of his busted addons.Let's also complain about Wesker hug teching then and not just Blight. I could also bring up survivors abusing bugs against Blight. Why not just fix those bugs that hurt him? Why hug tech over his busted add-ons?
Could hardly care about wesker hug tech, you mean crouch "tech" ? That's one of the most cringe "techs" in the existence of DBD, anybody who uses it doesn't know how to loop billy, blight, demo. One of the worst takes ever? You know that Blight has 5 rushes and can just rush to you when you leave the tile lmao. I feel like only PUB Stomper Blight mains have this argument.
lol.

There are plenty of Survivor techs that have been in the game for years that are barely complained about yet have much more of an impact. Here a few just off the top of my head:
Trap Buffering: At first was declared a bug which was fix, and was intentionally reintroduced in a later patch
Crouch Tech: Makes some killers glide right off of you instead of landing a hit because of crouching at a surface that is lower than the killer (Most notable killers are Billy, Blight and Demo)
Window Tech: Allows you to phase through the killer while theyre performing a vault. Al though difficult and inconsistent, can still very much throw the killer off
CJ Tech: Vaulting into a locker, window, or most commonly a pallet to make the killer pick up a downed Survivor thanks to overriding the prompt.
Vault Tech: While the Wraith or Sadako are cloaked/demanifested, spam vault at pallet to force them to uncloaked/manifest.
Stagger Cancelling: Using a prompt (most commonly vaults) to cancel a stagger from either a drop down or killer power
Phase Tech(?): Using a map, key, or the perk Clairvoyance grants you the ability to lose collision with the killer.
Input Buffer: Allows the person to complete an action that they otherwise wouldnt be able possible thanks to your action taking priority. Most commonly shown with The Doctor with vaulting or dropping a pallet despite being shocked. Can also be done by getting a fast vault by buffering the input at an odd angle.
Then there are several other killers who have insane techs, way more impactful than hug tech will ever be (Not all of these are as strong as hug tech, but they are still clearly unintended and can still be very impactful depending on the situation)
Input Buffering: Similar to Survivors, but can be used with some killer powers instead. Most notable being Trapper who can place traps in places he otherwise wouldnt be able to, causing the trap to be shoved into the ground (only works on specific spots)
Curving: Utilizing certain obstacles, allows killers who have some sort of collision mechanic to slide right off of said obstacle despite running directly into it. Most notable examples being Billy, Demo, and Blight
Flicking: Allows certain killers to ignore their camera restrictions while using their power. Most notable being Oni or Pyramid Head
FL Cancel: Allows killers to cancel their powers due to being blinded. Most notable example being Legion
Locker Bend(?): Allows the Dredge to exit a locker at a different angle. Some what inconsistent and can leave him stuck inside the locker instead.
Drag Tech: Allows the Nemesis to drag his tentacles hitbox with him while moving.
Urobend: As Wesker, dash while looking in a different direction than youre going and then colliding with a Survivor will cause you to go into the direction your looking instead of forward.
Un named Tech: Looking up or down has a variety of different benefits for certain killers. Most notable examples being Freddy who can place Snares through walls thanks to this or Bubba who can hug some surfaces much tighter.
And finally the most loved tech of all which is still possible in certain places... Skybilly: Allows the Hillbilly to reach new heights when colliding and dropping with some obstacles at a certain angle.
I’d also like to add:
- F11 tech: mostly used on Wesker or Demo, pressing F11 to frame cap as you M2 allows you to get outside of a map (mainly RPD) or literally “lags you out” as an advantage to dash farther – much worse than hug teching and exploitable
- Gesture teching: can be used for distance (especially at the exit gate or a pallet), hell, you can even do this while in chase to gain a few extra steps.
- Vacuum tech: a lot of killers accuse survivors of cheating for this but vacuum teching is manipulating your movement and the prompt to vault or drop which allows you to literally suck yourself into a vault or pallet drop
- Pluto tech: mostly used against Blight, also works against Wesker sometimes but this bug makes both of them slide off you when you run at them in the start of their rush/dash.
- To add to crouch teching: it also works against Deathslinger & Victor
- Linger/Drag/Slide tech: as Shroompy mentioned, holding & dragging Nemi’s tentacle gives him a wider hitbox
- while rare but can happen: the WGLF bug that literally allows you to vault or do actions 100% faster
-
Hug tech:
- relies on good ping
- relies on a 50/50 collision tile meaning a tile that is both slippery and bounceable
- only works against people who fall for it
- helpful against bad tiles that are sometimes hard to bump logic or go through
- every update changes collision and makes it harder to hug certain tiles you always used to be able to
- some survivors will hide at a safe tile so it's fun catching people off guard
- if you see a blight looking into something to bump off of, good indication they are going for a hug tech so just leave the tile
- subjectively weaker than his add-ons, again, it only works against survivors who stand there instead of leaving
Let's also complain about Wesker hug teching then and not just Blight. I could also bring up survivors abusing bugs against Blight. Why not just fix those bugs that hurt him? Why hug tech over his busted add-ons?

MFT really isn't that big of a problem unless you pair it with other haste/endurance perks. I maybe get a loop or 2 worth of MFT value until I get caught, yeah, sometimes on Blight survivors will gain like an extra 2 steps ahead of me but I don't find it threatening.
Resilience is a good "in case of an emergency" perk. Like trying to loop on bad ping, etc. Not that huge of a problem.
Hope only activates when gates are powered, although I feel MFT should not be allowed to be stacked with other haste perks, that's when it becomes troublesome.
People still have terrible pathing using WoO. Honestly waste of a perk slot unless you have trouble navigating on some maps.
Yeah it's unfortunate when you're trying to slug for pressure and last gen pops and your slugs have adrenaline but is it really that problematic? It's just to be expected at this point.
-
yeah I've been seeing lots of killers run devour and noed recently, did I miss something?

yeah, it's been bad. had a wesker down me through a window when i was already inside the middle of shack and he was still turning the corner.. and had a pig teleporting and doing the same from how laggy they were. have also been going against survivors who are really laggy and i feel it as well. the servers were doing better when PTB went live but they're starting to get bad again. i also hit a nea through a pallet stun on wraith

Situation in EU is also miserable. In game ping does not appear high, but you get rubberbanding and lag, or get disconnected, all the same. It's damn near unplayable in the evening.
Hopefully with the PTB being released it will channel some players there and make the servers suffocate a bit less. Otherwise I don't think I'll be able to even play the rest of the event.
yeah, I was watching Ayrun a couple days ago and he was rubberbanding trying to vault a window on 30 ping. I was also just in a game where I was rubberbanding but had no packet loss indicator.. Array had to get off killer earlier because it was bad, and was getting high ping/packet loss SWFing when he's supposed to be on 40. praying I wake up to a tweet saying servers and/or event has been extended & fixed.
-
NAE servers are currently experiencing a lot of ping spikes.. I have gone as far as optimizing my ethernet settings, verifying it isn't a me issue. My IP comes back with 0ms and no packet loss - a lot of the DBD streamers on NAE are experiencing the same issue currently. I'm going from 68ms to 112ms, I've also seen a teammate on 28 ping shoot to over 40ms, and I keep getting put in lobbies where everyone is averaging 80ms with spikes over 100ms. I don't know what happened to the servers when the anniversary event kicked off, but they are needing attention. This just isn't fun. I have not been enjoying this event at all

Would it be worth it if huggies were gone but they ironed out most of his collision issues and a bunch of his bugs? Made him much more consistent on most of the tiles and maps that aggravate him?
personally, i'll take better collision; as i love going for hug techs, it can be a bit frustrating when you slide off something you should be able to bump off of. getting his bugs fixed would be enough for me.
hug techs are such a dopamine rush when you pull them off (i find bump logic boring) and i'll be torn if they get removed. but can't complain about better collision in return.
-
Unfortunately, I can see him getting the Billy treatment. Wish the people who complain about him having no skill actually played him. Then it would be the other way around.
Hug teching shouldn't be a bug, it should be a part of the game.
Let's rework C33, Alch Ring & Vial first and fix his most important bugs and collision before removing him from being able to hug. Hug teching depends on latency and the right tile. Do you really think hugging a tile is more broken than literally negating his hitbox by standing still or crouching?
-
I have gone from reinstalling, checking my drivers, internet, etc and it is not a me problem. NAE servers are a perfect example of being super unstable right now. West doesn't seem as bad but is noticeable from killers side.
One lobby, I'll be on 46-54 ping, next lobby 79-90, next lobby, everyone's on 100+ ping. I even got placed in a Jap lobby a couple days ago and I am on NAE.
Even if the servers don't get fixed right away, it'd be nice if the anniversary could get extended or DC penalties turned off for the time being because this has been a not-so-fun experience with the lag. I am a Blight main and suffering from the delay.

devs were saying in the feedback/bug forum that the issues are on the user/player’s side, not theirs
It's not a user problem. It isn't. You can tell the difference between a server problem and a user's internet. Did everyone's internet mysteriously become horrible where we all have 100+ ping in one match and everything feels so delayed? It is 100% server sided.
-
Had a Pinhead that couldn't be blinded (they didn't have Lightborn) and never missed an M2/activated chain hunts pretty quick and always knew where the box was and then had a Jane last night that was way too fast and it seemed obvious, checked their steam profile and it was mostly negative comments so that kinda answered it. During an event. Also gonna assume I had a Wesker trying to abuse the F11 tech because they looked very laggy but could have also been because of the servers.
-
Yeah, it's like NAE servers just don't exist right now.
Even trying to join other people's lobbies through steam is laggy, and hitting a prestige in the bloodweb can get laggy when the screen transitions.
Hoping they fix it soon and can find a way to compensate for it.

I promise you it isn't an internet problem. I have really good internet for where I live, and started using a VPN that reduced my ping by a lot up until the start of the event where you can clearly tell it's a server problem. The big DBD content creators are also suggesting concerns. NAE servers are a perfect example.

"He has many weaknesses" forgets to mention what weaknesses he has if he is piloted by a decent player.
When I play vs Nurse I can run her for a little while because her counterplay fits me a lot more than the looping you do vs most M1 killers. But those Nurses are also not usually that good I find, despite my teammates falling like flies to her. Can you really counterplay a decent to good Nurse even if she does not run her strongest add-ons?
- Performs terribly on bad server latency
- Gets stuck in the slam animation while rushing sometimes
- Coming into direct contact with a survivor can sometimes make you slide backwards
- Tile collision is wonky after every update
- Randomly going into fatigue at the start of a rush
- Randomly gets hit with double fatigue
- Rushing right as you get fatigue makes you rush in slow motion sometimes until you do a killer interaction to cancel it
- Bumping into random collision tiles can cause you to bump backwards and be frozen in this animation until you DC (sent a ticket to support with video proof but it never got acknowledged)
- Crouch & pluto tech
List goes on.

You make the same thread over and over. Truly thinking blight has no counters destroys any credibility. He has tons of counterplay.
c33 and alch ring need changing. His basekit is perfect and should be the example of a fun, interactive killer. Unless you’d prefer the majority of the roster that is m1 killers, that are just plain boring to play against. I don’t know how anybody finds a challenge in looping against basic m1 killers anymore.
I would happily take all your blight games in exchange of all my m1 games. Atleast the game is fun.
People also don't realize he has lots of bad bugs (not talking about his techs).
The simplest techs can counter him. I've had people catch me off guard plenty of times

There is no fun when you know you gonna lose against him whatever you do.
Why S-tier killer allowed to have that strong add-ons. What is his cooldown, what is his weakness? Nothing.
How long we will allow him to stay in his unbalanced state?
He has many weaknesses. lol
C33, Alch Ring, and Vial are really the only add-ons that are strong and need a nerf, other than that, it's fair.
I don't get why people hate one of the most hardest killers to learn that's also the most funnest to play.
It's rare you come across a good Blight like Array, Momo, or V1, most normally make lots of mistakes (also depends on RNG and survivor efficiency) so more power to you.
