I don't think he should start with all traps, but I do think they could maybe reduce the spread of the traps lying on the ground across the map. Make them all spawn in the middle 50-75%. It is absurd that some traps on the swamp maps can spawn in the far far corner and never get used.

Devs in 2018: We are thinking of making Kindred basekit.
Devs in 2019: We decided to balance solo queue in other ways.

I play against streamers with "Top MMR", "Max MMR" and "Highest MMR" in their titles. They wouldn't lie, would they?
I honestly have no idea what MMR I am because one game I'm playing against some uber god Nurse who never misses a blink, the next I'm playing against somebody playing Trickster for the first time to do a challenge.

Altho I would prefer proper full screen support like I used to have, not scaled/stretched to fit.
-
That sounds awful. I don't want my teammates hoovering up all of my tokens.
Just make it:
- Self care at normal speed
- 20% bonus speed for healing others.
No tokens please.

Map is fine, the players are bad.

Glad it wasn't just me.

Still better than playing against Legion, though.

Not sure I could stomach anything related to creepmeister Joss Whedon.

I like to run these when there is a live Twitch streamer in my lobby so I can see their reaction.
I wish we could still use the old bouquet offerings too, even if they had no effect.

Inuit culture has a monster called the Tupilaq. A recent example was seen in the TV series 'The Terror', which featured a huge Polar bear-like creature known as Tuunbaq.
No idea how this culture would fit into DBD but the prospect of a killer who can summon a vengeful giant Polar bear monster sounds pretty cool to me.

RPD is fine. I play Trapper and it's a hoot.

Any time they give details like this, the community assumes that it is completely set in stone and then gets all outraged when things are delayed or abandoned down the line.
So now they don't tell us anything until they are ready and I don't blame them.
The community is full of babies who don't have the slightest clue how game development works.

This was originally posted a year ago but with the prevalence of gen-blocking killer perks these days, I thought it would be good to bump this thread.
OP's condition that you can only unblock a gen that you yourself have blocked is unnecessary, IMO.
I don't think this would be unbalanced.
Thoughts?

At 7k hours I had to hide my playtime on Steam because teammates would expect me to give the killer vertigo with my looping skills but really I'm just too
lazychill to try hard.If somebody brings a coin offering, I 99% every chest I find for them.
-
Certainly moreso than solo queue.
Killer is where I go to chill when survivor gets too miserable.

I would say playing fair simply means understanding that you are playing against human beings who are simply trying to have fun and that certain playstyles pretty much destroy any sense of fun for the other side.
That's all. It just means having a modicum of empathy, which is is a bit of a challenge for some people.

I played her for a while back in 2018/2019 (so before her many nerfs) and honestly, I just got bored of winning.
There was a really good SWF that I would encounter quite often and they would destroy me when I played my other killers (Trapper, Clown, Bubba). With Spirit? They didn't stand a chance.
Teams like that are rare, though, so the average gaggle of solo plebs might as well have spawned already on the hooks.
She's probably more challenging now but I have yet to go back to her.

Sounds like a standard Meg tbh.

Why? Devs said kills matter more than hooks. So why not go full basement Bubba?
Imagine wanting to raise your MMR so that you get harder games when the only way you can get kills at your current MMR is by cheesing it with facecamping.
Genius, truly.
-
Probably better to just uninstall if you are this bad at the game.
-
Question: does this actually affect self-healing speeds?
The perk description clearly distinguishes between "all healing speeds" and "self-care healing speeds" with different values for each.
-
Did you happen to catch tonight's lottery numbers while you were in the future?
-
AYAYA Spirit would be cool.
-
His power would be to kill off half the playerbase.

When Killer Instinct was introduced with Legion, survivors had some indication of when the mechanic was in play (terror radius). With killers like Demo, Twins etc. they have no indicator and either don't know that they are being detected or simply forgot.
Most survivors are casual and do not read every single killer power in depth. KI is not a very intuitive mechanic to begin with.

Basic quality of life to make one small aspect of the game less frustrating.
Less frustrating for Survivors only, you mean. Meanwhile, Killers lose out on the loss of gen progress for chasing Survivors off gens.
Funny how Survivors are now demanding buffs as 'quality of life improvements'. Did demanding Killer nerfs 'because unfun' stop working?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2756888#Comment_2756888
OP is talking about gens popping when they have to run away, or when they leave it to go help someone. You know; something that causes gen regression & helps a Killer, and changing it would be an direct buff for Survivors/nerf for Killers.
It doesn't only happen when the killer is coming and you know that.
The killer is not entitled to free information and gen regression because of poor UX design.

How is it only a "quality of life" change when you flat out no longer are either rooted in place or need to hit that damn skill-check?
I get that this should have some consistency but asking to do a repair skill-check on the run seems a bit weird to me. I have another suggestion: Skill-checks are now for the generator and not per survivor. You can leave the generator while a skill-check is running but the next survivor to touche it takes over the skill-check at the point where you left it.
Say the skill-check appears and is a 9 o'clock. You let go at 3 o'clock. Now the next person to touch the generator is met with a skill-check starting at 3 o'clock with a success zone at 9 .
This would allow you to get back onto your gen to not miss the skill-check or leave your teammate with a very difficult skill-check because it already started running.
You get you quality of life, the Killer still gets regression unless you show you skill.
You would still have to hit the skillcheck, though. You decide to leave the gen, suddenly you get a skillcheck at that exact moment, instead of the gen instantly blowing in an unfair manner that you can't control, you are allowed to complete the skillcheck (gen still blows if you fail it).
Like the way Overcharge works.
Basic quality of life to make one small aspect of the game less frustrating.
Sorry but your suggestion sounds too complicated.
-
Better. It's not even close.
I'd love to see all the current whiners playing against the original insta-gens, insta-heals, 0 hook moris, true infinites, 7 blink Nurse etc

@ShinobuSK said:
You mean those instant skillchecks that happen as soon as you leave gen? Those are truly horrible and should be fixed.
Like let me hit it after I let go just like Overcharge

Idk how this wasn't implemented years ago.
Also, have to laugh at killers being outraged at the suggestion of basic quality of life improvements.
-
The conclusion is that unfun strategies are too viable.

How so? This is basically Blight but instead of bouncing off of things, you stick to the surface and can better pinpoint a return Leap. There's just a vertical element to it as well.
It's a daytime map.

Might be a bit hard to play on Coldwind.
-
Idk, I still remember 2019 when the mid-load crashes plagued the game for half a year.
This was back in the days when you had to re-invite your whole lobby after every single game.
Sometimes it would take an hour to get a game. It was the reason most of my friends abandoned the game entirely.

Coldwind cow tree.
Every time.

Horrible to play and when played effectively, they are even more miserable to play against.
With a few changes they could actually be somewhat fun and fair. Devs seem to have forgotten about them, though.
