WGLF still has the stacks and incentive, which is good.
Unfortunately, BBQ lost it.
I don't want BP to be involved at all. BHVR is correct, BP shouldn't be on perks. but i would like these mechanics to be basekit instead of locked to perks, precisely because they encourage and reward good gameplay.

But i mean, am i wrong bout it being dope? Also idc about most the changes, only one i hate is iron will nerf and the were gonna live forever/bbq and chilli not giving bloodpoints
there's no right or wrong to dopeness. you think it'd be dope, therefore, it is dope. enjoy that freedom, brother.

what if DS put the killer power on cooldown (if it has a cooldown)? that should help against Blight/Nurse/Spirit, etc., but not bother trapper, for example.

primo TIFU by being a homophobe. XD
generally when ppl ask me that and i legit wasn't tunneling, i just tell them "you just kept getting found."

no worries, we're good - I understood the name wasn't a beef with me <3
As for transparency, I've been saying over and over on this thread that when we're ready to announce DbD on Steamdeck we will - we've not got an ETA on when this release will be yet, which is something we said when we announced that we would support it initially, we made clear this is not going to be around launch at all.
It's not that you've been unclear, @MandyTalk . It's more that, as we approach the one year mark, the response just isn't satisfactory anymore.

been playing some vhs beta lately on my linux install. its a nice break not getting tea bagged and flashlight macrod xD
we should friend up! i'm still terrible, but love the vibe and QoL changes.
-
I understand that everyone will do what they want to.
I can say that the VHS devs have been very responsive, communicative and supportive of making the game accessible to us. If that interests you they're giving away many more beta keys with Early Access being available soon.
The game currently runs perfectly on Steam Native client via proton.
If DbD isn't ready by the time of Early Access, I'm afraid I'll have to move over to devs that care for my concerns.
-
i'm equipping it right now just for you.

Just adding a +1 to this. Ready to play DbD portable, not on the switch because cross progression got pulled back into the upside down. Plus the switch is really underpowered comparatively. Please just go to the developer portal and enable the EAC option (s) already. EAC for Linux is there, the game boots and launches on deck, it just cannot connect to EAC.
agreed. i wish there was more open communication and transparency on this and why it has been almost 10 months with little to show. my concern is that the dev team doesn't take us or this option seriously as something they want to even spend time on, even if it would ultimately be a very short amount of time. i don't want to poo-poo the devs tho,i know they work very hard. we just want to be invited to the party too.
just talk us through it and help us understand. because the lack of action actively makes our experience worse/non-existent.
-
Nope, devs are already making the changes. Why are you all still replying? Just accept I was correct and enjoy the adjusted gameplay.
The thread is over.

Dark Theory gang rise up! I love that perk XD

make it so you can only party with 2, maybe 3 man, but not all 4. need to have one potato rando. XD

I think they should've made the bloodpoint bonuses a base part of the game. It would encourage healthier playstyles and still help out newer players — because while a 75% reduction to the grind is great, there's still a flat 100% nerf to actual BP gain.
quoting again for emphasis. yes, please, this. and for me it's not even about the BP, though i understand ppl's points in here. i really, really don't want to lose the positive reinforcement for healthy playstyle choices. those stacks were instructive for new players, encourage and reinforce healthy play, and DbD, imo, needs that baked in. it's a great teaching feature that would be such a shame to lose.

It's still just a bandaid fix. Plus you'd only be able to ban one map while there's several others that are just as bad or even worse. At max there would only be five maps banned
all of that is fine for me. in no competitive community can you ban everything. you get maybe one or two bans.
of course, you don't have to agree if you don't think it would help the game in the short term.

idk if even this is good. i think the best bandaid for now is make sacrificial ward refund if there was no map offerings
that's ok. while i know that DbD isn't properly a competitive game, if we're striving to reach more balance and fairness, stage banning is a common thing among competitive communities to rule out maps that may be unreasonably disadvantageous for oneself.
-
@dbd900bach said:
Yea I'd rather they focus on actually balancing the maps. This kind of future would be more of a bandaid fix to compensate for the maps being so bad.
The point is that we shouldn't need a future like this in the first place, heck we shouldn't even have map offerings in the first place.
If all maps were balanced, you'd only place am offering because you like that specific maps aesthetic or you know it better than the others
that's fine, but do you expect that to happen any time soon? exactly.
ok, so here in reality, we can switch to bans, or keep things how they are, while we still push for balancing. one doesn't preclude the other.
-
@sasnayahdrezka said:
no. balance maps. dont ban them what is the point there will be just 1 less map forever. i like how everyone including BHVR forgor April 2020 update when they changed 10+ maps and said theyll keep going and then. graphical reworks with MINIMUM gameplay changes is sadge
they, ostensibly, can do two things.
1) no one should be able to pick a map to favor themselves. banning makes more sense.
2) they've shown no indication of major map balancing/overhaul in the near term. so we can take the bandaid for now while still pushing for rebalancing.
-
bump for the midchapter. would love to see this.
-
except that i was right and the balance changes skew toward slower survs, faster killers, slower gens, faster chases. the thread is over.
-
am killer main. it's fine. it's for new killers and killers with no anti-loop.
-
i'm glad they removed the BP bonuses also. it creates too much pressure to use the perk or feel like you're missing out on BP.
it's not needed anymore. though i will miss the stack mechanics in general because they encouraged healthy play.
-
yeah, if their issue is guaranteed escape in endgame, i'm in total agreement. i like the DS changes, but OtR has been overlooked. my guess is best strat is to hit them immediately upon unhook to get rid of the speed boost right away.
in any case, the game needs to lose 99ing. that will help a lot.
-
i concur. Ruin was a bit overnerfed. for consideration, maybe one of these instead:
1) 75/100/150
2) don't make it a hex anymore
either way, it should absolutely not snuff itself. we're putting out Hexes for survs now automatically? really bad precedent. they don't seem to have an issue tracking it down and getting rid of it.
as it is now with this change, it's worse than the Legion add-on, since that won't snuff itself.
-
agreed, lose the cooldown. what is it for exactly? to prevent weird Nemesis/Furtive Chase combos with DD? let the perk breathe. XD
-
Agreed, I think it's a good way to balance the base game while also encouraging see niche perks. I'll use it

Got my Steam Deck today, guess I'll play something different until DBD comes for it. :)
if you can get into VHS beta, it works great!
-
so, if i'm understanding you, what you're actually upset about is the overall nerf to speed boost after hit, and you want the same amount as before. but that's not in the cards. devs want that shorter. so you need to reframe your argument a little.
because if Overcome wasn't changed, but base boost was nerfed, then Overcome is now MORE valuable, because the percentage it is now increasing your boost ability is greater than it was prior, because the base amount is less than it was. this makes choosing to run Overcome NOW, in the new paradigm, more valuable than it was before, because now you get more bang for your buck, as it were.
-
just a little bump for this suggestion for the devs while they're on the topic of mass perk adjustments. Coup wants YOU to give it some love! XD

it lost 25% of it's power how does that make it more "valuable" when the perk was never meta to begin with?
it didn't? base boost changed. unless i missed a change to it somewhere, which is possible.
-
would love a Dev comment on this. it's a noteworthy perk given the game changes.
-
@Viskod said:
No? It's the opposite.
As the distance you can get from a killer normally is decreased, anything that increases it again raises in value.
Correct. Overcome is MORE valuable now.

DS should deactivate when other Survivor hooked after you. Sometimes I hooked 3 Survivors (or 2) and still first Survivor has a DS. It is not healthy for the game.
I've had enough time to fully stalk someone, mori them, get lost on RPD, down someone else, only to then eat a DS.
Absurd. XD
-
I love that people are losing their mind out there and my man is just, "yo, add Solid snake. That'd be dope."
I hope your dreams come true, brother.
-
Total agreement. Doing the box is an action that forwards the game along in the survivor's favor.
-
Man I'm super excited about all these new changes coming! Will be super fun!
I hope EAC is configured soon, because playing in stadia is not great. :/ Have to be local.
Game future is looking good!

Agreed in that I really love the majority of this. Great, bold changes in the right direction.

Correction, nobody fears the killers with little to no lethality, such as Pig, Trapper, Wraith, etc. Billy, Nurse, Bubba, Pyramid Head, etc are all pretty scary to go against.
Right, this is a good elaboration, since I'm making this post after playing Wraith/Doctor/Onryo a fair bit since they're full of my 100% BP boosters.
How powerless they feel from who I usually play is astonishing, and the survs know it.
And again, we're talking about a good group that knows how to play. As opposed to noobs that wander aimlessly and aren't constantly on gens.

It's a forum. I comment how much I want. The lack of understanding concerns those who don't realize why nobody is scared of a video game. Especially, after repeated exposure.
You're just wasting space with your noise since you don't even understand what we're talking about.

It's almost as if people aren't actually going to die and you aren't a big scary murderous dude irl.
Almost like a game!
What a total lack of understanding of what's being discussed.
If you have nothing constructive to add, don't comment.

Total agreement. Though, if they have the pictures there, then technically we don't need the character names then

@Lyonic said:
I genuinely believe you guys are just a bunch of survivor mains who played killer a few times and wants to weigh in like your opinion matters.
Playing killer is not fun anymore and has not been for a long time. If you are a no-lifer nurse or blight main, you are going to do well against anything that isnt a survive with friends. ANY other killer really struggles to get a kill unless they camp under the hook.
The only way to balance this game is to forget about nurse and blight and rebalance m1 killers. Share bloodpoints between survivors - that way people are rewarded or punished as a team for gameplay choices.
it's true. killer is ######### miserable. no one is afraid of the killer except noobs. killer are ######### pushovers, it's pathetic. the game should be balanced 60/40 towards killers.
-
I wish I could say the reverse. I try to be nice, play meme builds, and survs remain jerks, thinking they're awesome and won't even let me get my BBQ stacks.
Unless I play ruthless I can't get what I need out of the event.
-
it's just giving away information to survs for free. no idea why. they should have to make note of it after its first use. then they know that this perk is in play and can react accordingly.
-
just make Shadowborn basekit. FoV exploits are dumb and immersion breaking.

Settle down, Satan.
