Because the gap between solo and SWF there is way smaller. You're actually able to communicate with the team through a ping system and also there's a text chat.
Ah, I see. Thanks for the info.

I should saw it again, with an adult view 😂
Just with memories its still one of my favorites horror movies.
You should. It totally holds up. In fact it's even better. As a kid I was more wowed by the fantastic effects and all the cool violent gross stuff but as an adult I came to gain an even deeper appreciation for the fact that it's actually very well-acted, extremely tightly-written, and really a sad tragedy. It's an excellent film. One of the greatest horror movies ever made.
-
Not against it, but it would definitely complicate things.

Whenever I see "depiping" I always picture a plumber, lol. If it were an actual word I think there'd probably be two "p"s in there, as in "de-pipping".
Not a big deal. Just something I've noticed. :P

Thanks for the details, my child memories are just playing with my mind I guess haha
You're welcome, I've seen the movie many times (it's one of my horror favorites) and maybe a lot more recently. I think you're probably remembering the film accurately, you may just be confusing a scene where he jumps through a window or crawls up to the ceiling as him flying. I understand though, I've remembered movies and other things from my childhood WAY more incorrectly, lol. It's weird to catch up with an old TV show or something and anticipate entire scenes that never even happened. :P
-
I'll stick around only if I think there's a possibility that I may be able to help a teammate who's still out in the wild. And I never teabag, ever. Even if the killer is an ######### I don't think I've ever done that. It's just not my instinct to do so, you need to be younger to want to do something like that.
A really funny thing happened though: A couple days ago I was on a team who went against the Twins in the hospital. It was weird, while I was out doing gennys I saw their auras and at one point when Victor was released they all quickly surrounded him and were either bowing to, teabagging, or somehow trapping him (a combination of all of the above). The three were in a tight circle around him and just bouncing up and down. It was really weird. By the end of the match though we won, and after I left first I spectated to see what the others were doing. They all made it to the gate and were right there by the exit line. The Twins were there at the start of the gate and kept releasing Victor who kept bouncing off of things. Every now and then a player would get hit and the others would heal him or her. This went on for a good minute as the endgame collapse took place, with the killer player just tossing Victor knowing that she couldn't win, and the survivors just stalling to goof around I guess. But then at the very last second, when the survivors turned to leave, one of them was apparently just BARELY too far outside the exit line and died. XD XD XD

We talk about the same movie, I watched it when I was young, my first horror movie, it dont fly ??? 😂 I have some memories of this giant fly, flying, but thats just memories..
(Spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen The Fly, which is honestly an outstanding film): Yeah in the 1986 version with Jeff Goldblum, he DOES crawl up the walls on a couple of occasions but he never actually flies, no. By the time everything is said and done he hasn't actually developed wings (but you're absolutely correct that he DOES become a human-sized, grotesque fly creature. The puppet and makeup effects they used to make it were absolutely amazing). If I remember correctly the character's son, in the sequel, also does not fly, though he also becomes a giant grotesque fly creature. I think that one might even had had wings, but I don't remember it ever actually flying.
-
Lol "Large Russian Woman". I like Huntress, both as a killer and survivor. She's a solid build (no pun intended).
I don't know some of your other references but I myself hate facing Wraith, Hag, and Spirit. They're often played by people who are either really good, which makes those characters frustratingly challenging, or really cheap, which makes those characters frustratingly annoying.
Plus Trickster, because ######### him.

Not a teleporting killer, a flying killer, it could be very interesting. Not flying everytime, just when he uses his power.
Ah okay. I was just going by the film itself (the 86 version anyway) where teleporting is a major theme but he doesn't actually fly (which is sort of weird in a way now that I think about it). You're right though, that would be interesting.
-
I thought the devs already said that this is unintentional, is basically a glitch that's being exploited, and is going to be removed.
-
The Fly would in fact be awesome, but then we'd probably just have another teleporting killer.
I despise Ju-on. I despise most Japanese horror. Oh look, a little pale kid with black hair. So much the scares.

Just a plus: the solo survivor experience in HSH is much, much better than in DBD.
Can you explain why? As a solo who's never played HSH I'm legitimately curious.

Ace can go. He's utterly useless. To reference King Pow, they intentionally made his perks wrong, as a joke.
As much as I kind of want to say that they can get rid of The Hag and The Wraith because I'm constantly running into players who use them really cheaply (which is to say, very effectively to the point of barely having any fair counterplay), I think that Trickster is just an obnoxious failure all around and adds pretty much nothing of any real interest to the game.
-
Difficult for my playstyle to function without aura perks. It's a bummer because I would enjoy some of the other, more powerful ones but I've become so accustomed to being able to get periodic reads of where everyone else in the game is that it's difficult for me to move on.

Bubba in general needs a rework, his power is insanely uncounterable if he is basement camping or just face camping. If you bt on you and the killer has Iri flesh then your still gonna die. Bubba has became very common to face for me, every time I hear his dumb chainsaw I wanna DC.
Bubba, Wraith and Spirit for me. I've been getting way more of them lately than I have over the last month. It's getting annoying, I seem to only encounter people who are cheap experts with them anymore (to the point that I honestly wonder how easy it is to cheat in this game). Whenever I hear the chainsaw or that ######### bell I roll my eyes and tense up for an annoying game. Then of course Spirit is Spirit, as always.
-
I wonder how much of it is psychological, like from all the horror movies and just the common sense of looking at a bunch of regular people whose opponents are all vicious beasts I wonder if we don't expect that the killer should always have an easy time slaughtering everybody and feel demoralized when we fail.

Last three nights have been great to play, tonight left a lot to be desired.
The killer side was really obnoxious tonight too. More tunnelers than I've faced since the weekend. Everyone was playing the Spirit, kept on getting the same two or three damn maps. I often have a lot of fun playing the game, tonight was one of the semi-regular exceptions.

This 4 man swf all ran Object and were so toxic it was physically making me angry all match they'd just sit and tea bag while flashlight clicking and since they knew where all my traps were they knew where to run since all of them had object and in the chance I'd injure them theyd heal 40 meters away from me knowing I was powerless to stop them. So they ended up 4 genning themselves and I DID get the 4k since I got one in basement and well 2 traps with a hag in basement is a death sentence. But in the end game chat they sent me a lot of hate and called ME boring to play against and said my life sucked so I just wanna know like...why are they so mad at me? They were extremely awful all game and played the most toxic unfun build. Thank god hag exists, any other killer I would've gotten demolished.
Don't let pathetic idiots like that bring you down. The online gaming world is full of vile little children who get off on bothering people and ruining the enjoyment of others even more than they enjoy winning the game. Just shrug them off, report them and take some screenshots or video if they're playing against the rules of the game, and ignore anything that they have to say. Their opinions don't matter. They're people who define their self-worth by how good they are at irritating others. Pity them and know that you are better.
-
Depends on who I'm up against. Generally speaking I find that playing a killer effectively is more hit and miss and thus more frustrating. That said, killers don't have to worry about useless teammates who hide or literally just AFK all match, being hooked within the first 30 seconds and then tunneled and / or face-camped for the rest of the match once you get free, there are no survivors who are individually as OP as Nurse, Spirit and Hag, etc.
Playing as killer is more frustrating but playing as survivor provides way more opportunities to be frustrated, if that makes any sense.
-
I've actually seen about three or four Twins over the last couple of days. Without exaggeration that's as many Twins as I've seen over the last MONTH. Maybe people are finally giving her some attention now.
-
I have an anxiety disorder so I don't like playing as killer because all of the attention is on me. Every mistake is magnified, every poor performance makes me stand out.

My fav killer is Wraith only because he has the power to gen patrol better in my opinion. Clown is very fun but he gets his fat butt handed to him in high ranks so he’s not viable. My favorite survivor is Jane for obvious reasons. I usually take a survivor Jane to hatch in most of my matches as Killer. I’d marry a jane main if I could. Bonus if they looked like her.
Jane + rockabilly outfit = yes please
-
My favorite survivor is Meg because she's beautiful. Shallow, yes, but most of the survivors strike me as about even. I think the best ones have maybe 2 really good perks at most, all the rest are less. So I just purchase the best perks and put them on her, she's not using any of her originals. She's also wearing the fortune teller outfit. Hubba hubba.
My favorite killer is, lore-wise, Pyramid Head. Silent Hill 2 has one of the greatest narratives in video game history and in a way I'm kind of bummed that the character - who is pretty specific to that game - has become a sort of mascot for the series and shows up everywhere now. Still awesome though. In terms of gameplay I haven't tried them all yet but so far I find Michael Meyers to be fun.

Can someone explain to me why there is this perpetual tribalism between the two sides? Every day there's at least one thread that just openly mocks the other mains for nothing more than being the other mains. Painting in big, broad, exaggerated strokes. They say it's to joke, but it just furthers the division and arguments and toxicity.
I even agree with some of the things that each "side" says. But why do we have to keep treating each other like this? Doesn't anyone just play the game, have fun, and accept that both mains have their pros and cons, their sportsmanlike and toxic behaviors? Why sustain the mentality that we have to be openly antagonistic toward one another?
It's just a game.
-
Face camping can, and should, be countered by doing gens. Period. That's the best time to do them. Too many people break what they're doing immediately to go for the survivor. The altruism is nice, but ultimately the riskier strategy. Sure, if you can get a sense of where the killer is and get in for a lucky quick save that's one thing, but you have to know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em. Sometimes you just have to leave that survivor (or two) for a little bit while you do gens and only go for the best opportunity for the save when and IF it presents itself.
I just wish that there was something that could balance out the irritation of being the person getting face-camped. It's no fun to just sit there not playing the game. This will probably be met with skepticism or eye-rolling disagreement but I don't know, maybe if there were an item or perk that raised the bloodpoints for being within a certain range of the killer for a certain amount of time, etc., then face-camping would actually be balanced out a bit (I know that killers get a minor BP penalty for hanging out around a hooked survivor but it's not much, nor do I necessarily think that they should be punished). Sitting there just losing and not being allowed to play the game would still suck, but at least a couple thousand sympathy BP would offset the fact that they're otherwise completely deprived of personal progress while it happens. Might also reduce DCs. It wouldn't affect the killer either. So the face-camped survivor gets some extra points for being prevented from playing the game, it doesn't eliminate the (annoying but legitimate) strategy.

Since my number 1 dream chapter is being added(still can't believe RE is coming) my last three dream chapters are Jason(he's my all time favorite slasher), Alien and, yes, I'd honestly love to see Springtrap added. :D
Springtrap is awesome, and he's crossed my mind as well, but somehow he just doesn't seem like he would fit. I honestly can't put my finger on why, it's not as if he's any more farfetched or less established than any of the other licensed characters.
For anyone who doesn't follow Five Nights at Freddy's and would just like a basic summary of what makes Springtrap interesting, (SPOILER), the simple version is that Springtrap is a scrapped animatronic suit that unintentionally impaled, like an iron maiden, a serial child killer when he used it to flee the spirits of the kids that he murdered. The Springtrap suit, a badly decaying rabbit costume, is mobile thanks to the reanimated (and equally decayed) corpse of the killer forever trapped inside of it.

I'm a relatively new solo survivor main and have had issues with the game / other players / the initial learning experience, sure, but I have to admit that the lack of four slots was never a big deal to me. The other three open for a single character after just a night or two of play.
I'm with you on the matchmaking though. Between that and the level 20 reset on the 13th (can someone explain why they do this? I ask honestly, I don't know why they decided on that), it's almost as if the game encourages play between new and experienced players right from the get-go. I'd vote to change the matchmaking (can it not just be based on a players W/L ratio?) before the perks.
-
I would honestly like a killer who's taller than all the rest. It would be an interesting challenge to play against someone who can see over things that typical killers can't.
Would probably screw all kinds of stuff up, but the idea intrigues me.

Yep, I used to see Leatherface every few days or so, now I'm getting him multiple times a day. There seems to be a rush of players looking to raise his level enough to purchase his perk or something.
-
I'm frankly thrilled that the days of seeing a Trickster every fifth match seem to be over.
Unfortunately the tradeoff is that I'm reminded again how much of a pain it is to goo against face-camping Spirits and cheapass Hag experts.
-
But I don't WANT to be in a guild, that's why I play solo. :P
-
If it makes you feel any better I only had one key in my character's possession and it was removed from my inventory when the game went back to the lobby because of some "connection error".
Doesn't quite seem right that items equipped in preparation for a match should be treated as if they were consumed if the match doesn't happen, but here we are.
-
Gen speeds seem too slow when I play survivor.
Gen speeds seem too fast when I play killer.
Perks on both sides can dramatically alter both.
If that isn't balanced I don't know what is.
-
"If you don't play aggressively that must mean you just hide all match and ruin the game".
Though I HAVE seen some of my fellow survivors just hanging back and hiding all match, waiting for everyone else to do all the work (sometimes even gesturing for them to do so) and boy, does that piss me off.

Something I've noticed with this forum is how one side, Either Killer or Survivor, will use the other sides name like a god-damned insults. So many times I've read "It's because killer/survivor mains are Insert insult here!"
Never before have I seen so much malice in the words "killer/survior main." Like it's a damn slur or something. And it's ten times worse with the word SWF. Like Jesus, calm down. I've already posted about how this community has a gigantic lack of empathy (or, at least the biased parts of them do), so I won't go too into it but it feels like it's just getting worse and worse. People just straight up refuse to look at things from both sides.
It's either Killer, or it's Survivor. Black or White. The dev's cater to Killers! No, they cater to Survivors! Killer is too easy, Survivor is too easy! I don't think the issues with the game are nearly that simple. We just need to calm down and have actual discussions- But asking that on this forum is like asking BHVR to make meaningful buffs to Solo Queue or to not shove in breakable walls in just the worst way.
I get sick of smarmy elitist comments like maps being ruined or killers being unfairly buffed "because of the survivor mains". I see complaints leveled at the killers as well, but not as much of them.
I find it stupid that so many people have so much animosity for their opponents in this game. It isn't a war, it's a ######### video game. There's no reason why someone can't express their frustration about perceived imbalance without using it as the millionth excuse to trash the side that you don't like as much. It's childish.
-
This is sounding like more of an issue of control (controller vs mouse and keyboard) than anything. Aside from lower FPS and, in some cases, some lower-textured models, the console versions are basically the same exact same thing. As someone suggested, turning off cross-play would even that playing field.
-
I mainly play on the PC but I also have the game on the Switch Lite and to be honest I notice very little difference. I managed to get a 4K with The Shape last week while standing inside a Walmart. If I can manage that then either I went against really awful players or the console experience isn't that significantly different.
-
I think there was a special event last night: Every killer must play Leatherface, and every second or third game someone must disconnect.
I didn't, but there were definitely times I wanted to. Sometimes rage-quitting is less about throwing a fit and more about the exasperated desire to just get on with the next match instead of putting up with crap.
-
The second or third day I was playing this game I got the hospital and was excited. I'd only gotten it once before and it looked like a lot of fun. I start slowly exploring and within probably 30 seconds The Plague (remember when people used her?) just suddenly showed up before I had any time to react and knocked me down. Hooked me, I get saved, I try to get away from the area. As is always the case the killer was nearby and just went straight for me again, going right past the person who rescued me. I managed to avoid her for a short time and quietly hid in a locker. Terror music went away. But somehow she came right around the corner and knew exactly which locker I'd gone in. I guess my scratches hadn't disappeared yet.
The point is that I was hooked again and everyone was on the other side of the map so I just let myself die as The Plague face-camped me. As the sacrifice animation began I figured "######### this, just get me to the next game already". I wasn't even rage-quitting, I was trying to lessen the time it would take to get into the next match. I'd already had to wait a combined 6 or 7 minutes for this match, which lasted all of 200 seconds, so I was just trying to hurry back to the lobby. I was already dead, what difference did it make?
No warning, no explanation from the game that you can't disconnect, even after you're done for. Slapped with a 48 hour restriction from playing with any of my friends. That's the day I learned that loads of cheap behavior was okay, but trying to hurry up the death animation and get back to the queue to save a few seconds is very very bad.
(I get it, I did something against the rules and was punished. I accepted it and moved on. I just thought that they could have at least given me a 1 time warning or something so I knew. I mean, again, I was already DEAD). 48 hour ban to save myself 20 seconds because the queue was taking forever. Lol.

The point is. Maps shouldn't be survivor or killer sided. Maps should be fun to play. And the game map isn't that. There's no mind games. And an obnoxious amount of safe pallets.
I agree, all maps should be balanced. I'm just saying there's suddenly so much hate for this map when it's just one out of many, and I'm sure that there are others that survivors could claim are way too killer-sided. In other words this probably isn't the only map that needs some adjustment, so I find it weird that every killer has been attacking it lately. And again, I don't know about everyone else but it's probably just about the least likely map to ever appear in my game. I played for four straight hours tonight and got nothing but Coldwind, Autohaven, one Badham and one Midwich, as is pretty much the usual.
Now, having said all that, I realize that my comment does nothing to "help" the situation. I can't tell how many pallets are in the map because the damn game never gives it to me. But if all killers seem to agree that there are too many pallets then sure, reduce the number. I've got no problem agreeing with that. Like I said, I'm a survivor main who can't stand the looping crap anyway.
-
I love the map, it's my favorite one. And not because of the pallet / loop crap (I hate that aspect of this game), but simply because of how complex it is and how much of a mixture there is between narrow corridors and wide open areas. I think it's a very well-constructed map.
I also get it maybe once every couple of days at most, so I don't really see what the big deal is. Even if we ARE to assume that one map is extremely survivor-sided (I've seen people much better than myself lose to killers on that map so I don't know), it's 1 out of several dozen. I'm sure that there are maps that heavily favor the killers if someone wants to break them all down in such a way.

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ZI18Y1WCFW5Q/killer-bullying.png
I have heard that SWF is unfair, yes. I can't speak for it though as I only solo. Yesterday someone else pointed out that some SWF teams exploit the system by having one low-ranked survivor mixed with all top-ranked survivors to make sure that they get low-ranked killers, which, as your illustration indicates, is also unfair. They will all start back at tier 1 on Dwight if you prestige him and if you've got all the other survivor teachables then it may take a fair few bloodwebs to get them back to tier 3 again.
Oh okay, I just wanted to make sure. I wouldn't think that the game would just take away a character's unique perks forever just because they prestiged but the game's got a lot of checks and balances, I figured that it wouldn't hurt to make absolutely sure. Yeah you start at level 1 again but you can unlock all the teachables you've got from other characters on the blood web.
Including your own? If I prestige as Dwight and he is stripped of his original unique perks, but I unlocked them for other characters previously, does prestige Dwight still have the same chance of seeing his old perks in the bloodweb and buying them back?
