That doesn't answer my question at all.
Why not make a topic asking Clown mains (people that MAIN him) their thoughts on his current viability - I doubt their views will align with yours.
I don't main clown, but play him frequently. I think he's better than Myers and Nurse on console easily. Probably better than Demo, pig, legion. Same tier as PH, Deathslinger, and maybe wraith. Mid tier.
Just one guys opinion obviously.

You should have plenty of time to risk NOED. Both doors are being opened at the same time if the killer commits to camping a hook during EGC, while the other remain alive and relatively unharmed most of the trial.
Well I can tell you from numerous experiences that you don't always have time to escape. And again, even if everyone but the camped survivor get out it was a boring match where nobody scores points and everyone likely depips. Nothing like waiting ten minutes to play and then having one of these type of games. Really ruins the experience.
-
Yeah. With an upvote only system it wouldn't hurt you if you didn't get upvoted, but it would reward you for being a good sport. Again, that's completely subjective, but generally speaking players with more upvotes would likely deserve whatever reward they would get.
-
I think there should be a reputation system, but only with using upvotes. Play with a good survivor that risks his life at end game to save you, you invote him. Play against a good killer that played fair (up to your interpretation of fair) up vote him.
Players get an upvote blood point gift and possibly matched with other upvoted players. I wouldn't do a down vote system as certain swf groupings would just downvote any killer that beats them.
-
I only slug if I see the last person or if I have some sort of tracking perk/ability where i know I can find the last survivor in seconds (whispers/doctor shock).
It's crazy how long these slugging marathons can go. Boring game play. Just take the 3k and move on. With the hatch mechanic the way it is, you can usually get the 4k anyway.

Literally, survivors empower camping. Survivors make it miserable.
Do gens.
Do gens. Okay, but then I don't have time to cleanse totems and then Noed. Even if 3 people get out it just makes for a boring game. No bloodpoints and everyone depips.

I don’t get it. Not everyone has the skill to loop, so why is it bad that a survivor tries their best to stay out of the killers LOS? I mean, as long as they’re doing objectives like working on generators or cleansing totems? Heck, I spend plenty of matches having to traverse the maps to unhook people because people keep getting caught and no one else is trying to save them.
Don’t get me started on the impatient survivors who wiggle their arms at me trying to make me hurry. I’m sorry, I don’t have BT, so I don’t want to unhook you and let the killer farm. Especially when I could still see him or Spinechill is still lit up! You even have survivors who demand I heal them at the hook that I just unhooked them from. Seriously, would it kill you to sneak away to a safer location for me to heal you. Do you live chases so much that you want to leave scratch marks that lead to me healing you? Even when it’s obvious that the killer will come back (Spirit, Hillbilly, Invisible Chicken Legs) they still insist I stay exposed for their sake.
Even the devs seem to not promote it since I could play perfectly and accomplish more goals than anyone else in the match and yet have less blood points because I didn’t get in a chase or hit the killer with every pallet on the map! (After playing killer for a bit, I kinda feel bad to use pallets or blind, I know I shouldn’t, but I do).
More equality for the Bush People please! We deserve respect! We also deserve all the butt rubs you can give!
Thank you for taking the time to read this rant, have a blessed day!
P.S. Devs, I would also like a bush costume like Fortnite provides. It will complete my ascension to full Bushette status.
I find immersed play to ne the equivalent of a killer camping. Its just boring to cruise the mapa couple of times not finding anyone, kicking gens, scanning the area, not seeing anyone and moving on.
I understand why people play immersive like I understand why killers camp. It's just boring and nobody pips or more importantly gets any blood points.
-
Can't speal for PC, but on console she is trash. Before the rework, I encountered about 5 really good nurses. Since then I've yet to encounter a great nurse. Some okay nurses, but nobody where I'm realising 30 seconds into the game that we are in trouble.
Usually it's gg ez. Or maybe a 1 k.
-
In over a 1000 killer matches, I've mayne had 3 or more escape by key 10 times (maybe).
I've been hooked/tunneled/mori'd out of a match probably 50 times. Maybe more.
Mori's are easier to use than keys. You actually have to get gens done or have your team get rekt and escape, but probably not PIP.
Mori's are lame. I literally only use them if I have a daily. Which luckily those type of daily acheivements are pretty rare.
-
Mettle, tenacity, breakout. Tank two hits and get two mettle stacks and crawl away. By the time the killer loses the hook, you're gone and half way recovered. It doesn't always works but makes for some fun plays when it does.
-
Agreed. I've been running it quite a bit lately. Same complaints (protection stacks not always registering/healthy insta down hits), but when it does work it's a lot of fun.
-
I've been running MoM a lot recently. It's a fun perk to run when it works amd in some ways is better than BT. The caveat here is the "when it works". Protection hits are still iffy as far as if it will register.
Also, it should definitely counter Noed. If a survivor works his ass off to get MoM up and running, the killer's passive exposed hit shouldn't over ride it.
They really just need to have it where I don't have to run directly up a survivor's ass to pick up the stack. Make it any hit within 8 meters of a survivor injured or not.
Fun perk when it works though!
-
I play both. Rank 1 at both. I think those that "main" as survivor or killer just don't fully understand the game.
The issue is not that killers have it really hard. Or that survivors have it really hard. The issue is that RNG and certain add-ons can really impact the game. Add in the fact that SWF makes an impact as well, and you get games in which survivors roll the killer (often but not always Swf with map offering) or killer rolls the survivors (not a full swf).
A couple simple solutions would be for the killer and survivors to know what the swf and ranks are. If I'm a survivor playing with friends and I see we have a rank 10 killer, I personally would alter my play (less emphasis on gens, take my time to find totems/chests). I would probably also use less used perks. If I see It's a rank 1 killer I probably hit the gens a bit harder and run the meta.
As a killer, if I see It's a 3 or 4 man swf I'm probably going to use better add-ons. I'm not a mori guy unless it's a daily, but I can at least understand using one.
However as it is now, you have to assume that the killer is good and running high level perks no matter what. And killers have to assume that it's a bully squad swf no matter what. This is why solo survivors suicide on the hook and this is why killers tunnel or camp. Obviously you're going to have some scumbags that play like jerks anyway, but I do think a large chunk of the player base would play more fair and have more respect for each other if we actually knew what we were up against.
Killers often complain about all of the second chance perks, but as a survivor if i don't run DS/Unbreakable it seems like more times than not I regret running them. As a killer, the expectation is that survivors are running the meta so, now I have to slug, occasionally tunnel or proxy.
I think those changes would help a ton and would also help with survivors playing with randos. If i see a rank 12 survivor I can try to hold his hand a bit more rather than think "######### is this guy doing".
All that wall of text being said, killer is definitely more stressful, but you get more blood points. Survivor is more frustrating, but at least you can take a breather sitting on a gen. It's less mentally taxing.
Usyillis had a remark that for the most part in one of his videos. I'm paraphrasing, but basically he said the only perks most killers need are perks where you can find survivors and perks that help end chases. The best pressure is getting someone on a hook. I believe he is right. Ruin and pop have their place, but you don't need to run these to win at high ranks. Pop does no good if you can't get someone on a hook, and even then how often do you have pop up but end up finding another survivor and begin chasing him while wasting pop anyway?
Anyway, that's my take. Try to have fun out there. This game can definitely be a bummer sometimes.

It wouldn't fit if he was shorter, also I never seem to notice his breathing myself tbh.
Myers in the movies wasn't that tall. DBD Myers is built like Lebron but maybe even taller. Corn maps? People spot Myers a mile away. He doesn't need to be Freddy/Legion height, but dude isn't 6'10" either.
-
Just eliminate tiers for perks. The differences are pretty negligible anyway.
-
I don't have the answers, but I actually think the change to ruin really hurt his early game more than most killers. Getting out of tier 1 can be a bear.
Probably a quick bandaid fix would be to make Michael a bit shorter and to quiet his breathing a bit. That would make his tier 1 a little more palatable. No real advantage to tier 1 when people can see him and hear him pretty easily.
-
Yeah Nurse is a bear on ps4. I was just starting to get a handle with her before the update. I've maybe played her 10 times since. I don't do very good with her and rarely come up against a good one as a survivor as well.
Congrats fellow platinum player!

-
Grabs are still too broken. I tried a few games and then just farmed it.
-
The point isn't whether it's doable or not. The point is you're taking about 1/10 of the match (at least) just being completely useless.
It took me 7 games and I finally got it when 2 of my friends and I played with a rando. My friends were basically sacrificing themselves while I crouched. Super fun game play. Sure.

Can't speak for PC but on console it's definitely killer favored. And I play both. Survivor is almost unplayable.

No. I'm closer to uninstalling than buying the next pass. Survivor on console is almost unplayable. Killer is just boring.

If they gave kyf players bloodpoints I would probably prefer to play kyf. No progression though? Biiiiiiiig nah.

Not a focking chance.

Maybe he should have used perks to help him get there then.
Its not up to the survivor to make it easy. I have said many times it wasn't right for either side. But its up to the killer if he wants to get it done
Some maps are big enough that both iron grasp and agitation won't get them in the basement. Again, the survivor has every right to play like a troll and stubbornly deny the killer the basement, but that makes them the one holding the game up- not the other way around.
"Killers are jerks for trying to complete tome acheivements!"
What a weird hill for someone to die on.

LOL
Look I said it before and I will say it again.
THE KILLER HAD THE GAME WON, HE SHOULD HAVE JUST HOOKED HIM ON THE DAMN HOOKS. THAT'S ALL IM SAYING, THE SURVIVOR DIDN'T HAVE TO LET HIM HOOK HIM IN THE DAMN BASEMENT YALL ENTITLED AS HELL
do yall pout if someone insta kills themselves on hook and you were going for an adept? probably..who am I kidding.
You are very dense. Why would a killer select an achievement on the tome, put himself in a position to acheive it, and then say "nah fam, I'm good. I'll do this ridiculously difficult challenge some other time"?
I mean at this point you're obviously just purposely trying to be a troll or accidentally being an idiot. It really doesn't matter to me. But just a pro-tip; digging your heels in and busting out the caps lock only makes you look like a bigger idiot. You do you though.

I had no idea where the basement was.
It was on the swamp map, my teammates were being chased I got hit once and lost him went to big boat to do the final gen teammate stepped in his trap. Me being the nice person I am went and got him outta the trap and that's when I went down. LOL
I mean i probably coulda actually not got camped and got out, but I was helping a teammate who in return farmed me off the hook while I had my arms flying a mile a min but it didn't matter. LOL
Im not mad that I or my teammates died from him camping basement. I just don't understand why some things are okay for killer but they are not for survivor. I play both sides and I don't need to play like this scummy dude, If Im doin the challenge for the basement and I can't get it but I can get the kill guess what...there are other games and Ill keep trying.
Im not wasting 20+ mins in one game just to try to get ONE challenge done for the rift..LOL some people hard core about that crap. not me
And some people apparently try just as hard to deny someone of their acheivement. Imagine being that type of loser.

yup so that killer should hook someone WHERE EVER he can..Not just one place. that's the point that im trying to get across to you big headed killer mains.
LOL
If the hatch wasn't insta opening and the gens still needed to be done but the survivor wasn't doing it yall would be pissed at the world cause they are holding the game hostage.
ITS THE SAME DAMN THING.
I play survivor and killer about equally. If you have no chance to escape you've lost. At that point you're just being stubborn about not giving the achievement, which is your choice, but it's not the killer holding the game hostage. That's just a ridiculous take.
-
@MrsMaliciousX said:

But why should the survivors stop fighting the win just because someone is refusing to hook them on an actual hook? Its not fair..Everyone just wants the survivors to give up and die but there comes a point where the killer could have taken his loss (NOT EVEN A LOSS) and just hung him on an actual hook.
Because if you're slugged, don't have unbreakable, and the hatch is closed- the killer has already won.
-
@MrsMaliciousX said:

But one side shouldn't have to give up just because the other side wants to win lol..
as I said before its not fun for either side. The rift is a joke lmfao
Not buying it because I experienced it yesterday multiple times. Survivors that know they're going to lose but just want to block the killer from getting the trophy. They just run to the opposite side of the map, get downed, carried, and wiggle out. It's obnoxious and that's on the survivors who at that point have no chance at winning.
Is the killer entitled to getting them in the basement? No. But also, they're not taking the game hostage at all. The survivors have a real easy way to end the game without DC'ing. Just don't wiggle.
-
@MrsMaliciousX said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/930758#Comment_930758
Because the only thing that the survivor could do is DC
because the killer was REFUSING to hook him..I watched for 20 mins and he walked passed every hook just to try to get to the basement..then they just stood there and stared at eachother..Its not the survivors fault..The killer needs to be punished for ######### like this..who's the bullies now?
Just don't wiggle. You're obviously losing anyway.
-
Amen. We don't need new content right now. We need current content that is well-balanced and actually works.
Plus Just adding more perks to the ridiculous grind drives me nuts too.
-
Nothing specific, but it's always a little funny when you get a 4k with multiple gens left and the survivor messages you unironically to say "ez" or "baby killer".
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Grind - It's not that bad, but it is kinda silly that we have to grind so much to unlock the same things over and over again. Still, not that bad at all, and you get plenty of fun stuff out of it too.
Balanced - I think they do a good job of balancing the game for the most part, but they need to get much much faster at it. I don't know if they need to like hire a bunch of new staff or what, but what ends up happening now is they nerf things that DO need it but the problem is they end up taking all the fun out of the character at the same time or nerf them way too much- OR a killer comes out and is already weak as it gets. Then, while they make balance tweaks somewhat regularly and get things into a decent spot, but they still have huge problems that need fixing that take FOREVER, EVEN YEARS TO FIX.
That's nuts, the stuff that ends up getting done I've seen other developers do in like months, but it takes them years.
Take legion for example, after all the changes he's going to need a total rework now, because it's obvious the deep wounds injury aspect of him is going to just need to go, in order for him to get more fun and effective/interesting mechanics....and we may have to wait another year for that to ever even start being looked at.
Bugs - Okay so the game is buggy, but to be fair, most of the bugs are not THAT bad. When they are, they are usually rare or patched out pretty quickly. Take the basement bug it was major and happened almost every time and was fixed in like a day. Still, the game has soooo many bugs, but it's fully functional in all aspects with only the occasional game breaker that you can just leave a match and restart the client and it's right as rain for a long time again.
Creativity - I think they are very creative....they just....don't work very fast. I am sure whatever they are doing to Doctor will be creative and very fun, probably make him much more interesting. Just it takes sooo long.
Objective - Yeah, the objectives for survivor are really boring. Holding M1 on a generator for like a minute or two... Most people I tried to get into the game were bored of this pretty quick as well. Especially when they realized they had to mash the space bar on hook, they were just like "This is stupid, I'm sorry but it's just stupid" and uninstalled. It's not for everyone, the enjoyable aspects of the game are mostly found in the mind.
Repetitive - Yeah....but you don't have to play it EVERY day either. I usually just do my dailies each day now, some challenges, or play when friends invite me to play with them, that kind of thing. Survivor is a lot less repetitive when you play with good friends, and I wouldn't say killer is Repetitive at all.
Community - Oh yeah, they can be toxic as all hell, but I'll be honest i play both survivor and killer- and even with new players that don't know any better I RARELY have toxic players. I get some sass in chat but I ignore it, but beyond that I don't really have tunneling/camping killers, and if they have a mori you can literally just let them kill you and there is no penalty for it remember, and if they don't you can just leave with no penalty, as long as you are not leaving every game you've earned the right to leave those one kind of matches that you just can't stand to play. I stick it out, but not everyone is the same.
As for player abuse, I find that it's not a problem until you get one of those SUPER toxic SWF groups, you know the ones and they are BAD. They make you want to quit playing the game- and worst of all they know EXACTLY how to do it so that they will never get punished for it, how to insult you and stay within the not punishable behavior realm. It's disgusting, these are the worst people. Thankfully it's like 1 in maybe 50 matches sometimes more before I run into these kind of people.
Most are actually VERY nice, I generally give hatch to last person when I mori, and end up with generally polite or entirely silent folks in post game lobby. Sometimes i take a mori and don't use it at all cause they are playing well and imo it's worth it to see their reactions in post game when you don't mori when you could have.
Some of the mods can be problematic too. There is one who english is not their primary language, and a guy was passively aggressively insulting everyone, but he seemed to have a hard time catching that. I said "This guy is being a jerk to people" or something to that effect when I reported them- and they gave ME a warning for saying "Jerk" in the report box - but never the guy who was demeaning and harassing other people. If people looking into game chats have the same kind of problems, it's no wonder a lot of the really toxic people in the game, as rare as they are, get to continue to behave that way with no repercussions.
Matchmaker/Ranking - I added this one because you missed it, but imo it's the actual worst problem in the game. It's super unfair, and if you reach rank 7 just by doing OKAY in a few matches, you get like nothing but rank 2 SWF red ranks cause of queue time equalizer- which means you could have like 20 hours as killer and it's time to go against the 2000+ hour SWF teams that Otz and Tru3 and them all play against, what the hell is that about? They can't do anything about it really because they don't have enough players to narrow the brackets significantly or anything. Our only hope is they add some sort of match equalizer down the road; where folks can earn more or something by taking handicap objectives when they are winning really bad, or something like that.... but it will never happen so yeah....
Those are my thoughts on the game state anyways, take it all with a grain of salt.
Lol. The grind is the worst I've ever seen in any game I've ever played.
To original poster's point. I agree. Killers seem to complain a ton, but I've kept track and one stretch very recently I survives once out of 18 games. Mostly some combo of swf, a few solo games mixed in between. It gets tedious after a while when most matches the killer just proxy camps repeatedly. I'm not saying you can't proxy camp, but with 5 gens left do killers really need to play like that? It's just boring.
But yeah, I've been playing more f13 lately, even though it's a broken piece of trash and the opposite happens there (too ez to escape). At least I can play a casual game instead of a bunch of red rank early match proxy campers.
I know I know, git gud though.
-
They should just give bp for kyf.
"But they would just farm"
People farm anyway and just make it where you cant use bp offerings. That would lower the amount of 3 and 4 man swf groups that killers seem to complain about. That lowers the wait times for swf since they can just play amongst themselves, while still giving them some progression since this game's grind is truly outrageous.

Waiting on matches is not "stress".
As example, while I wait, I watch videos on YouTube, or writing here in the forums :) and as killer can it be enough to make 1 mistake and you will lose.
As survivor you can multiple times miss a skillcheck by a gen, or while you are healing someone and it doesn't matter at all. You should only change your position then, but you don't lose the game (well... as long as not run then in the killer of course).
Aww thanks for telling me what's stressful or not.
I enjoy playing the game. So not being able to play the game for long periods of time is annoying to me.
As killer I get to play which is usually not stressful.
-
I used to think killer was more stressful. I've done a 180 though.
Survivor queues are terribly long. So if the match is terrible, you get mori'd super early, get no points. It's a big bummer. Also as killer a mistake can hurt you but at the end of the day it's your mistake. In survivor sometimes it's the other survivors that hurt you. Maybe they run the killer to you. Maybe they boom a gen. Maybe they just play like turds and body block or try to sell you out. Maybe they suicide on 1st hook or DC.
Their actions whether malicious or not can really put a damper on the game. And if you're playing solo you won't get another crack for about 5 minutes. Playing SWF, you gotta wait until the end of the match and then wait at least 10 minutes for the next one.
As killer, if I have a bad match I know I'm going to still get more bp than an average survivor around (usually) and I know I can immediately find another lobby. No waiting, just another crack at more bp and redemption.
-
At least give us our bbq stacks
-
Early game pressure is way more important than end game. If there are 2 or more on a gen early on and you guess the wrong spawn point, it's now a four gen game.
This makes discordance better in my opinion. Though both perks are nice and zi respect your well-written opinion.
-

Its amazing how playing killer makes you feel like more of a victim than playing survivor.
Yeah, I think thats more of an issue with the player than the role. I play killer all the time and generally enjoy it. Win or lose. I think more people just need to learn how to take a loss.

I think people shouldn’t put such heavy stock into what streamers say and form their own opinions and thoughts first. There’s such a creepy undercurrent of people just repeating and following what streamers say like mindless sheep and following what they do like some weird cult.
