  • Just like the real game. I waited longer in the lobby than the whole movie lasted.

  • Hasn't even been a full week yet. Sheesh.

  • Yep. I stopped playing with my swf group because they couldn't understand that everyone has to take agro and even a hook state or two from time to time. Nothing is more annoying than hearing your teammate complain that they died on their first hook.

Now I just play solo. At least if I have bad teammates I can chalk it up to that and just move on to the next game faster.

  • I could be mistaken, but hasn't it only been up since Monday? That's 3 days.

  • @Ryuzaki said:

I think there should be more ways to earn stacks like healing other survivors to promote good team play.

Agreed. It should be for protection hits and unhooks like it is now, but also any heal that improves their health state. From downed to injured, and from injured to healthy.

  • It's a fun perk and I enjoy using it from time to time. I just wish I didn't have to be running up someone's butthole just to get a protection stack.

If you take a hit within 8 meters of any survivor in chase that should be suffice.

  • Yes. I have fun. I win most games. I can't remember the last time I had all 4 escape.

Usually I 3 or 4 k. I typically don't slug for the 4k or else I'd have even more of them. And truthfully, though I consider myself a good killer, I still miss a lot of attacks and make mistakes. Red rank killer games are challenging, but not nearly as difficult as people claim they are.

  • Adjust your play.

It's the year 2020. We all know gens are going to go fast. If you have a transporting killer (Freddy/demo) bring pop. If you have a set up killer (Trapper/Hag) bring corrupt. If you play anyone else the only perks that matter are:

Detection perks to find survivors as fast as possible to put early game pressure (whispers, disco dance, spies).

Perks that help win chases earlier (brutal, enduring, spirit fury, bamboozle, etc)

Perks that help snowball (STBFL, infectious, agitation)

All hex perks are pretty weak except for in a gimmick build. Maybe devour being the exception. Stop using them.

Find them as soon as you can. Gens will pop but so what. 4ks shouldn't be that easy.

  • Win some lose some. Stop blaming the game for everything.

The whole "killers can only win if survivors make mistakes" is a very pathetic line of thinking. Also, spoiler alert- survivors make mistakes in the game all the time. Even good ones.

Killer is not as hard as you guys make it out to be.

  • David King is going to be paying you a visit very soon. Pay up or else!

  • This was a terrible change for killer. Haven't run survivor yet. I can't even find hooks lol.

  • I think it's a case of it being your call as killer, but in terms of the game it's obviously really boring to spend 3 or 4 minutes bleeding out.

So it's definitely your choice, but also you can expect some unhappy survivors. Sounds like you don't really care though, so you do you.

  • I'm on ps4 and have been going out of my way lately to say gg as killer or survivor. I've only gotten one really bad reportable response and a couple defensive responses. Most people have at least said gg wp. Sometimes more positive conversation from there.

I figure a little positivity doesn't hurt. Even games where I'm a little salty for whatever reason, I still am being positive. I think most people appreciate it. One killer told me it was the first time he got a positive message. He played well too. 4k'd us. Wasn't a turd. I'm sure he probably plays that way most games. Crazy that it was the first positive message he got.

  • @IIITweedleIII said:

To be fair. There IS a Quiter Bonus. You get a decent amount of BP for them quiting. As for a teammate survivor. If one quits you should get the quiters take on BP. That's the only side of it they should have.

600 bp is not enough compensation for a teammate dc'ing. One full safe unhook is 1500, 500 for a full heal, more time you can spend on gens, increased chance of survival if they stay in the game. I mean c'mon.

  • @RedditUser69 said:

I played 10 games yesterday and in 7 of them someone DC'd on their first down. I wasted two hours trying to play this game only to have it ruined because losers can't handle being downed.

Yep. I played a lot of solo games yesterday. Probably at least 4 early game dcs/suicides and about the same amount of afk the whole match survivors. Kind of ruins the match.

  • Yeah. I don't want to get scolded again so I won't give my opinion on Tru3, but my take on gen speed is that it's probably fine as is. You can't take the extreme where survivors do really well and pound gens quickly and act like that is how it is every match. Most games are not that fast. That said, there probably should be some slow down depending on the size of the map (Red Forest/Ormomd) and there probably should be a little bit of a speed up based on the amount of survivors left in the game. These wouldn't have to be crazy gen buffs/nerfs, but it would make things a little more fair for both sides.

  • Mild annoyance, but it is what is is.

I prefer the complete "oh #########" moment when blood warden happens compared to noed, but it's all good either way. They're just perks.

I only consider a couple of perks truly poorly designed and NOED is not one of those. Though it wouldn't hurt to have a totem counter or at least some sort of sound effect when a totem is cleansed because it's impossible to know if all totems have been cleansed as a solo player.

This. Whenever I used to play as a 4-man we’d mostly be talking about other stuff. It’s a game at the end of the day. We weren’t sat there going over our battle plans like we’re about to head to war lol.

I sometimes feel like I’m playing a different game to everybody else as I actually find SWF easier to kill. I haven’t gone against a single SWF that hasn’t thrown the match in some way by being too altruistic whilst trying to save their friend from being downed / hooked.

The teams you should be worried about are the solo ones that don’t care if their teammate dies on the hook. Obviously not every solo player is like this, but there’s more of them than in SWF.

Agreed. Swf can be more difficult, but usually they're just overly reckless.

A good solo team just pounds gens into oblivion. If you find the weak link, then it can be an easier match, but if you find the expert looper, it's going to be tough.

  • Stealth play is the equivalent of camping a hook.

It's boring for the other side.

There are situations for either where it makes sense, but on a whole if you're just spine chilling and urban evading the entire match you're no better than a killer that just camps the first dude.

Also, it's typically bad for your survivor teammates. You have to take some aggro in this game, including at times actually intentionally taking a hook state.

I'd rather face a four man click clack super loop group than a group of spine chillers any day of the week.

  • Reward killers for going up against swf

    4 man = 100% bonus

    3 man =75%

    2 man/2man = 50

    2 man 2 solo = 25

    4 solos = no bonus

Rework Object. Don't know how, but even as a solo it's a terribly designed perk.

I also think swf shouldn't be able to run the same perks. But that's more for variety than balance necessarily.

Mikey is too weak to be called the most balanced imo. You can be the best Mikey in the world and you will still lose to the best survivors.

Spirit is the most balanced to me. Higher skill requirement than most killers but has enough potential to handle the best survivors if played well. Contrary to many peoples opinions that form from watching youtubers/streamers instead of playing as and against Spirit themselves at rank 1, she also has lots of counterplay that isn't just the mind numbing loop the pallet like 90% of the roster. She forces you to play different. My favorite killer to play against because of these things.

Exactly. He may be the weakest killer in the game. He has a lot of gimmick builds that are fun to play, but none of them are OP.

Nothing in the OP’s written trend opinion suggested anything of sarcasm. Just sounds to me like a survivor main that has an extremely hard time with minding their surroundings.

Survivor mains don't post here. It's just whiny killer mains and the occasional reasonable person that plays both that keeps you guys in check.

All the survivor mains are on reddit posting shirtless myers memes and crying about noed.

Well explain the skill it takes to run back and forth from loop to loop, and drop pallets left and right, vault through a window, vault back out, then rinse, repeat. Just hang out at the same loops because they know the killer can't catch them because of bad design unless they go into BL or have Freddy. It would mean less time to play around and be a jackass

There is definitely a skill to looping a killer. Maybe not in looping you if you're not that skilled as a killer, but I can definitely tell the difference when I play killer. Some survivors are very good at looping and some are very easy to down.

I get the idea that you don't play survivor all that often. If you did you might see the other side of the coin and how terrible the game would be if there were a stamina bar.

That said you can always play F13. They have stamjna bars, though it's even easier to bully Jason in that game than it is to bully killers in this one, so it might not be up your alley.

  • @ThisGuuy83 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1421149#Comment_1421149

Yeah, but being stabbed and being able to vault and run at normal speeds isn't though... Yet a chainsaw overheats in 10secs now..

It's a video game. You can't look at every competitive aspect based on realism.

But I'll go tit for tat with you. If I get stabbed I likely wouldn't be able to run. But what if the killer barely grazed me with his weapon while I vaulted and was two or three steps away from him? Would that really impact me a whole lot? Nope.

  • @bingbongboi90 said:

The oni is probaly one of the most balanced Killers in the game.

Only infectious fright might feel unfair on him. But that's the only thing i can think of.

Pallets stuns don't break him out of his power like it does all the other killers. In that sense, it's unfair. I agree with infectious being a little OP, but I think that's more of a gripe with the perk than the killer himself.

  • Lol. Stamina bar for survivors. So dumb.

  • This is a post created by someone that obviously only plays survivor for daily acheivements.

    1- survivors have no power

2- survivors are slower than killers

3- killers have built in balanced landing so to speak

So perks not withstanding, at some point the killer will catch a survivor barring God loops which barely exist anymore.

Killer has never been easier. Adjust your play and stop crying already. Rank 1 killer/rank 1 survivor. Not bragging, but when I see these crybaby posts I just laugh.

  • @cenoflame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/165518/de-pipping-because-killer-is-afk

Take advantage of boldness. Run in front of him, escape, repeat.

You don't get any points for running in front of an afk cloaked wraith.

  • I miss old Freddy as well. I also understand why people don't miss him. Really they should have just decreased the default sleep attack from 7 to 5 seconds. Maybe make it where there is a 10 second cool down on putting the recently unhooked guy back to sleep.

He was an interesting killer to play as or against.

  • Yeah because there is no in between scenario of actually playing the game normally. It's just hook/tunnel/mori or afk. Yep. Sure thing.

  • Only thing that annoys me is when I get spam follows on ps4 for like 15 minutes. Super greazeball #########.

But comments make me laugh. If it's really overboard I report them. The best part is they will always want the last word so make sure to eventually say something like, "I'm going to let you have the last word since it seems like it's so important to you, but maybe next time (insert stupid thing they thought they could get away with during the match)."

That will usually shut them up and if it doesn't just lol at them and leave it at that.

  • Probably should have been the babysitter perk with the bp bonus. But that ship sailed.

I call bs. If that's the case, then riddle me this: why are killers dropping like flies? Why are survivor q times through the roof?

I can't speak for everyone. I can only speak for me. This game has never been easier for me as a killer. That doesn't mean I don't lose, but on a whole I get to rank 1 and maybe lose a few pips before I get them back. I never derank to 3 besides reset. So I can definitively tell you that I can play 10 games (lol actually way more) at rank 1 and stay at rank 1 or 2. So no, it's not that hard for me. And I play literally every killer. It's not like I have a main. I am not some elite killer either btw.

Fun fact. If you are not actively deranking and you get stuck at a certain rank, that means the rank system is working.

  • But yeah the merciless killer trophy should probably just be changed to ruthless. No doubt about it.

  • Survivors can be toxic against all killers. Killers can be toxic against all survivors.

    It is what it is.

  • I've stopped using recently. I've found in most cases if the killer is super tunnelly I can just tank two hits and trade hooks. A lot of times though they'll just assume you have borrowed and just go after you anyway.

  • @ThisGuuy83 said:

Play 10 matches as killer at red rank and honestly tell me the game isn't survivor sided then. You can't.

I can. The game is balanced pretty decently right now. Sure sometimes better players will beat you and certainly rng still can drastically sway the balance from one side to the other. But as a rank 1 killer and survivor (who lately mainly plays solo), I can tell play killer at red ranks for 50 games and tell you it's balanced for the most part.

  • @Pryzm said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/166936/nobody-wants-to-play-as-a-killer

I was unaware of my name change. I'm "Nobody" now? You could not pay me to switch back to survivor.

    1. Survivor bloodpoints are an absolute joke. If you get unlucky and get tunneled from the start of a match (which happens a lot), you can get as low as 4-6k or less bp. If the team really sucks, I've ran the killer for 2 gens, got hooked, was hit directly off the hook, re-hooked (because I don't run meta perks like DS) and struggled to death. Got 3k bp. Yikes
    2. Killer bloodpoints are more than twice as good as survivor. I have run this test several times over the years. Do one and two hour timeframes on off and peak time hours. How many bloodpoints were earned in that timeframe and how much bp worth of items (addons, offerings, etc) were lost? In every one of them the killer makes minimum two times the amount of bp than survivor gets.
    3. As killer, I might get SWF groups that are absolutely insane! I have choices. I can play toxic and tunnel until I get a kill or two. I can chill and just farm as much bp out of chases, gen kicks, pallet breaks, etc. Try to get some hooks and maybe a kill in. It is super easy to farm 20k bp plus out of a 4 escape SWF nightmare match. Why? Because the pinheads work to engage the killer. It's not like you don't get chase points, brutality points, etc. Or, I can give up and go afk. These types of matches used to be once out of 10 to 15 matches. Over the past year it has picked up to 1 out of 4 or 5 matches. I'm talking the most toxic groups. SWFs are common, but those hit squads are still not the norm.
    4. As survivor, if I get a hardcore camping/tunneling killer and I'm not on my looping game, or just got downed fast for some reason, I could easily be looking at a match with less than 3k bp. Furthermore, I have limited choices. I can "just do the gens and leave", in which I'll likely fall victim to NOED because with the avg tunnel/camp match the killer will get the 1st one down and be on the second by the time 5 gens are burned through. If you stop to do totems, it's almost an easy 3-4k for sure. Another choice is to just let him kill me and suck up the bp loss.
      1. If I camp/tunnel killer AND a crappy solo team, I'm really hosed. I have 2 choices, bore through the slogfest and get crap bp for doing gens and leaving, or die fast and get crappy bp and on to the next match.

Overall, I feel like I have more control over the game as killer. I can't control those 4 man SWF hit squads, but I can control how I approach those matches and at least make some good bp out of them. I can also "surrender" the match once the gens are done and open the doors. At least I get some good BP for putting up with the toxic crap. As survivor, I'm at the whim of both the killer and the survivor unless I'm in a full SWF. Survivor can't say "at least I get good bp for putting up with the toxicity" because they don't. They get hosed three times in a match; once by the killer tunneling them down, once by the crap team of survivors that farmed you in front of the killer and a third time by getting crap for bp.

I switched to killer almost 3 years ago because of the frustration of dealing with tunneling/camping and crap teammates combined with the massive bp disparity. I do not regret that switch and would recommend it to anyone playing. Killer role is still significantly more enjoyable and rewarding the survivor has ever been.

This guy gets it. Killer can be frustrating but your always in the action. Survivor, you're holding M1 most of the game. If you play with friends you get an advantage, but also when you get killed early you get no bp and then wait 5 or so more minutes for the match to end. The. Wait another 10 minutes at least for a lobby. I've had nights where I play 2 or 3 matches in the span of an hour and a half. Boring.

  • Gen slow down perks are vastly over rated.

Tracking and perks that help end chases are way better at high ranks. Having a guy on a hook and another slugged/in chased is the best gen pressure.

Don't get me wrong a well hidden ruin or good use of pop can really help you. But it's not always the case. Ruin can get popped super early and with pop sometimes you don't even use it that often because you find someone else to chase right away.

you're upset That for once survivors cant just get something for free ,yeah I understand dude.

Dude. You're just way off base because you clearly prefer killer over survivor. This event is an embarrassment. They should rework it asap.

Your take of "survivors would just suicide" is one of the dumbest things I've read here in a while. But maybe it's because I actually play survivor so I know that survivors kill themself on first hook right now.

There is a lot of good with this game or else we wouldn't be playing it, but it really is baffling that these guys can't get an event right.

But good for you that you get to ridicule survivors about it though.

  • @JesterClown said:

i wouldnt say its that killers are toxic, id say they are tired. I play with someone who would first hook mori if hes running moris, not because hes toxic, he almost never runs moris, but instead its a result of a bad day where he find like 4 swfs in a row or is getting flashlighted or teabagged all day. Is it toxic to try to bite back or lash out if your experience has been really bad today, I dont think so.

To answer your question, yes it is toxic. If I have a bad day I don't go home and kick my dog. A killer shouldn't take it out on the next team. Equip the mori, sure. But it doesn't require you to tunnel the first guy you find and wax him out of the game in three minutes because you had a bad game or two. Maybe play the game out and if that act douschy, then use it.

I'll respectfully disagree with the points you make about nurse, as I think she takes an abnormous amount of kill to play at a consistent lvl, hence it should be rewarded.

I'm not really talking about being able to 4k or not. I'm sure most killers are able to 4k, more than they would like to admit.

I'm discussing how different the experience is from survivors to killers, that it makes people, mostly killers, quit or go on long breaks.

I'm currently a rank 2 killer (deppiped testing out new builds on legion) , and I have to sweat my balls of yo keep within red ranks. While I can causally rank up as survivor, having fun at the same time.

I know is something inherent to the asymmetrical nature of the game, but good Lord.

I feel quite the opposite. Red ranks in both. Rank 1 at killer playing with super stars like Bubba and Gorgon and clown. Grinding to get to rank two because i pretty much play solo (my swf is no allstar squad). Every match is pretty much someone gets hooked early and suicides on hook making it a 3v1. Swf is hard to face because of the communication, but also the facf that you don't get early hook suicides.

I much enjoy killer (besides auto aim and Ormundfield) than solo and even swf survivor play.

would you rather survivors get it just for collecting it? because if you look at past events. that didnt end well(survivors would just kill themselves on hook)

This event is going just as poorly if not worse. Survivors still suicide on hook just like they usually do if they get downed early. BP offerings are broken.

I only have a good time playing killer. Playing survivor and getting stuck with low rank dweebs and sweat bag killers isn't really enthralling.

  • I just don't know why these guys can't come up with an event that is fair to both sides. It's really not been fun at all.

Killer is almost too chill. Survivor is crazy difficult. I have 3 crowns in a about 25 games. Bear in mind I'm playing mostly solo, but c'mon.

1 … 17 18 19 20 21 … 30
