I'm not taking about the Spirit if you think I am. I'm talking about the OP's topic.
yeah i know, i haven't seen any complaints on any hair graphics

They changed it because they got so many complaints that it was ugly (which I think it was). When they get so many complaints about a cosmetic that they physically change it, it's safe to say they're not gonna revert it.
I didnt see any complaints about the hair being ugly. personally i liked how it was before, it's ugly now.

I just played another game and I got gas heaven. ######### is happening.
-
ah yes, but the game decided that I don't get to have any map offerings except for autohaven or coldwind... I think I got one ormond one and I used it
-
I have been a Spirit main for a while now, but I have really gotten into Legion recently. If I have to choose i'm still a spirit main at heart ♥
-
As far as I'm aware, the fog doesn't make a difference on ghostface's stalking. Pig doesn't get cold wind maps 100% of the time anyway.
-
@TAG said:
Can we remove the fog-increasing offerings from the Killer side? I can't imagine why a Killer would ever use one.
Stealth killers might want them to make them harder to see (ghosty, pig, micheal)

Okay this topic has gotten away from the main idea. Yes I think Mori's aren't what they should be and people abuse them.
I don't really see these toxic Mori users and I typically hook + leave to find someone else, then if I find the hooked survivor later then I'll get them.
Besides, killing everyone early or tunneling until death doesn't award BP. And I know, "those people don't care about the bp". I do, so I'm just saying that people DCing early because of a Mori ruins my experience and BP gain.

balance moris, then actually make them secret
How would one balance Mori's? Also, this discussion isn't about balancing Mori's. It's about secret offerings.

So you're telling me I can get a free 4k by using a shroud of separation? Wowzers!
Anyways here are my solutions:
A - Add more secret offerings. Here's a list of offering idea's I've posted, 2 of them are secret Killer offereings:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/82567/new-offering-ideas
B - Not show secret offerings at all. Survivors won't see that you even have an offering in the first place.
Yes I like the hiding secret offerings completely idea

@Weck yes I forgot about those

for ghosty the hooks could have grey ribbon tied to the hook that floats in the air around it, like ghosty's outfit has. or maybe they could have security cameras on them

This should be posted in the off-topic section.

I really have a problem with Nancy's voice... When she runs, she makes erotic moans instead of the regular heavy breathing. No other survivor starts sounding like theyre having an orgy after a few seconds of running.
-
To everyone that says standing still is a bs mindgame, let me tell you something.
As a spirit main, the mindgame of standing still doesnt work on as many people as you'd think. It rarely works at high ranks (10+). I try most of the time and you know what it does? It wastes time. You all complain about how she can see where you're running away, but really, she's just standing there wasting time.
As someone said above, the blinding thing is a big giveaway. Either they try to blind the husk and get nothing, or they blind and get away.
Spirit does not need to give off a cue of when she is phasing, as the whole point is to be unpredictable. Other killers are at least predictable. Just learn to play against her and bring Iron Will.

Guys how you define rude except for tbags and flashlight click bullshit? 🤓
sometimes I get mad when i've been run around for more than 2 gens so I leave, and when I come back to the person looping me I get them. Usually it's a nea, kate, or feng.

@Liruliniel They aren’t official polls by DBD. It’s just polls I come across on Instagram and Twitter. A majority of them have Feng, Dwight, and Nea toward the top. Surprisingly I see Laurie up there too.
Not to mention A LOT of people have a fetish for Asian women.
This has to be why people say "sPirIt iS hOt"
Weird Asian fetishes

Some characters are more well liked than others. Killers tend to dislike Meg, Claudette, and Nea. They tend to like Feng, Jane, and Kate a lot though. At least in my experience.
If I give a survivor the hatch it’ll probably either be a Nea who is memeing or Jane.
Interesting.. I usually hate Feng as every one i've encountered as killer have been really rude in-game. Usually flashlight bm and tbagging.

Spirit doesn’t move grass
I thought she did? Or at least make the sound?
Anyway you can still hear her footsteps
-
I main spirit and I face way more toxicity then if I play hag or other killers. I once said GG at the end of a 3k game (last got the hatch) and they said "no, spirits don't get a GG. That's the law"
Like what's the big deal?
I do think that prayer beads need to be changed to ultra rare, but I don't even use them. Green add-ons are my favourite.
-
Spirit is really fun to play. I main her and though I'm not the best, her mind games are really fun. I get a good laugh when I stand still at a pallet, feigning phasing, and the survivor jumps over it into my arms.
The unique thing about her is that she's one of the only truly scary killers in dbd. Most of the killers aren't scary anymore, cause we just go "oh it's a trapper" but it's not really a worry. But with spirit she has that element of surprise and scaring survivors is a lot easier.
I guess the passive phasing is scary for some too.

A perk that can counter an add on is not equivalent to balance, as you cannot put it on in response. You should not have to run a perk every match for the CHANCE that an obscenely broken add on is in the match.
Spine chill is a pretty good perk for most killers, so it's not like it's a waste of a perk slot for the chance of matching with a spirit.
-
As a spirit main, the best perk a surv can have to counter play prayer beads is Iron Will. Also, watch the grass/listen for footsteps.
I do think that prayer beads should be moved to an ultra rare addon instead of very rare. Spirit's ultra rare addons are pretty garbage unless you're a super pro.

This isn't as related to the op but I see a lot of talk about swf having voice chat. Sure, the solution is to add in-game voice chat available to all survivors in the lobby. But then, annoying-ass people will have lots of background noise and it is really distracting.
The solution to this is make the in-game voice chat PTT only. There should not be an option for an always-on voice chat.

More Bloodpoints are nice, I prefeer the Salt Reward System we have though.
I love to recieve a Steam comment where some sore loser wishes some disease to a member of my family, just because they could not get their little avatar escape a horrible death in a video game.
This reminds me of how sometimes people will go to my steam profile, see my displayed name, and go "nice noed, [name]".
It creeps me out

Just don't get mad at teabagging survivors? You don't need to tunnel them to beat them.
Control your temper and just play optimally to beat any toxic peoples' butts. Flashlight clicky clickies don't work too well if you have ears to track them with, and pallet drops don't work if you mindgame. If the survivor is just better than you and toxic, ignore them, let them waste time trying to bait you into a chase and kill their friends instead. I understand sometimes if you're going to play optimally you might need to tunnel someone to get it down to a 3v1, taking resources away from the survivors, but in the end if you're doing it for a reason as stupid and petty as "PUNISH THE PERSON WHO MADE ME MAD, UNGAH BUNGAH", then you need to take a break and go outside.
If someone wants to piss you off, don't give it to them. If someone wants you to chase them, don't get mad, just let them be stupid and waste time, and find someone else. Dealing with toxic people is actually really easy if you aren't a Neanderthal and actually know how to control your temper.
I don't get mad at games to the point where I get violent. But this is the kind of thing I said in my original post. I shouldn't have to "just ignore them" or "just don't get mad" because that's not the point. It shouldn't happen in the first place.

And? What's your point
-
@HatCreature said:
Splinters are cool but annoying, I keep getting the one for Cannibal and none of the others ones even though I own Cannibal.
But this would be kind of hard to do though, if you have the splinter and the Killer and you already have perks and add-ons on that Killer but you use the Splinter you're using the add-ons and perks. No you can say why not just play that killer and get rid of the splinter? Well there is nothing in the game to let it know that you own that Killer now so there isn't anything to make it stop giving you the splinter, which is where my complaint above comes in.
I agree they should add a feature that takes into account the killers you have so it doesn't give you splinters for them.

I don't think playing nice really has much to do with letting people go, or cutting the killer a break once in a while if they have had an utterly poop game (works both ways), though I will add that its nice to sometimes not take all your frustrations out on what is essentially another human on the other side of that character.
Being nice can really boil down to just accepting your win or your loss with some dignity. You can be a decent human being by not using god awful threats or wishes for diseases despite relative internet anonymity, and STILL play the game.
In nearly 30 years of gaming I have not and will never accept "That's just how it is these days" or "Grow thicker skin"
Not a single person would accept that sort of thing in real life without getting upset or angry, why should they have to swallow it just because the aggressor is doing it via the internet?

Honestly, if players would consider each other as people rather than just survivors or killers, this game would be a whole lot better.
For example: Just recently, this pig let me live. She didn't need to let me live because she earned her sacrifice fair and square. However, she decided to be nice to me, which really brighten my day! :)
https://xboxclips.com/NMCKE/ef9b5805-de4a-4614-8ab6-5abcdb363336
I'm not sure if she remembers me when I let her live as a survivor, but if so, as you can see, the community can improve if we go out of our way to give others a good time. :)
I totally agree. Just today I was killer and a 2 man swf joined. I hit one within 1 minute of the start of the game, planning on letting them get away, when they both dc'd. So I went around farming bp with a feng, slamming pallets on my head and then me breaking them. I let her and the last person get the hatch.
People think that because it's the internet, their words have no real effect and they can't be punished for what they are saying to people. Maybe the devs could do a little anti-bullying campaign for the game that features clips of real players. Could show it's not just a little character in a game
-
I'm a spirit main, and I think the best perks you could run to escape me are
- iron will
- poised (maybe, could be switched for something else)
- urban evasion
- spine chill
- breakdown
- lightweight (this one is very good against spirits, we rely on scratch marks)
- quick and quiet
- technician
You'd probably just want anything that makes you as stealthy as possible. Keep yourself quiet and run as little as possible, try to stand still while spirit is phasing so she doesnt see your scratch marks, hear your footsteps, or see grass moving.
I also forget if there's a perk that makes you bleed less/not at all. If there is, use that one too cause if they have Father's Glasses addon, they chase blood. Also use it for The Game, or any indoor map.
-
The only change I think should be added to EGC is if the entity kills the last survivor(s), the killer does NOT get those bloodpoints and those deaths do not count towards their kills. Remember, the killer did not get those survivors by their hand, either hooking them or otherwise. They should not get those bloodpoints, or at the very least they should get less because they didn't do very much work for that survivor to be stabbed in the head by the entity. If the EGC activates, then the killer did something wrong OR very right. Good job to those killers who kill the 3 other survivors and then close the hatch and kill the last person. They did their job. But if the entity has to take them out because the timer ran down? The killer didn't do their job.
-
There better be a spirit basement with katana's on displays, Japanese tapestries everywhere, and a nice bloody sakura rug on the floor by the steps or chest.
-
Scratch marks aren't the easiest to follow considering they're spread apart and don't last a super long time, and even less with survivor perks.
I think Spirit's ability is good as is, (im a spirit main) and any nerf to it would make her useless.
Like @Carlosylu says, following the pain groans gets me to survivors 8/10 times. Spirit is one of those killers that requires you to use other senses than just seeing the survivors. It also makes it more fun imo.

This has been asked for many times, and while unfortunate, the Devs and Mods already said no. There are hundreds of skins, and Prestige doesn't have an overlay effect, it's a entirely new skin in and out of itself.
Much as I wish it, hoping for it won't make it so.
That's truly unfortunate. Makes buying the outfit kind of a waste if I want to show my prestige. While it's not an overlay right now it could be made into one.

Dude i've seen rank 14/16 killers wipe out entire teams of rank 9 to 6 survivors. No offence but probably you're not doing your job correctly. You just need to refine your hunter instinct and you'll see they fall like flyes regardless their rank. I'm rank 8 survivor and i still fall miserably with rank 18 killers as well, and i play a lot of SWF, but we get rekt anyway if the killer is really good. It's not everything about rank, but also about hunting instinct and intuition. There are killers you can't escape because, somehow, they already know where and when you're going somewhere. They're simply good at it.
This is actually kind of offensive considering it's not like i've been playing for a long time. I've literally owned the game for no more than 2 weeks and i'm not the best. Somehow I rank up faster than I get better so I get matched with people who are much better than me. It should be harder to rank up IMO, but that's another discussion.
The ranking system should match players with killers based on the swf's highest ranked player of that group, not the lowest. It's not exactly about skill compared to rank, it's about similarity in rank.
-
Even when I was rank 20, I was getting rank 10 or higher survivors

You see that's something everybody (me too) would like to see implemented. But think about the downsides:
-you would get even sweatier match at red ranks then now, basically only swf for killers and killers who stall the match to pip for survivors;
-once somebody reach rank 1, he would probably drop the game 'til the 13th, so that he could not lose the rewards, this may create a massive playerbase loss.
As always, we need to wait and see how this new mechanic, the archive is going to work.
I think in order to prevent people from dropping the game once getting to rank 1, the discount could apply to only one purchase. You get 30% discount on ONE item/set/character/ for that month/rank rotation. Once you use it you have to wait for rank reset to get another one.
And as mentioned in the OP, each colour/rank could have a different discount percentage, and that discount can also only be used once. I hope that makes sense.

You said it yourself: You got the game 1 week ago. Therefore you know little to nothing about the game and its mechanics allowing ANY "somewhat" experienced killer to dominate you easily. Let me explain what a strong killer defines. Strong killer attributes:
- can find people easily
- can end chases quickly CONSISTENTLY
- can control generators efficiently
- can move from point A to point B in a few seconds allowing said killer to spontaneously check hooked survivors while patrolling generators or the gates IF the survivors manage to repair all 5 generators.
Leatherface has:
- no tracking
- no map pressure since he always moves at standard movement speed
- can't protect generators or gates due to the standard movement speed
The only thing he has going for him is his ability to instadown survivors that don't manage to vault windows or drop pallets in time. That's why he's considered weak by most of the community. If someone loops EFFICIENTLY most Leatherfaces will never use their chainsaw turning him into a killer with NO ABILITY.
Strong / top tier killers are:
- Nurse
- Spirit
- Hillbilly
- Hag
All of these killers can generate loads of map pressure, down survivors quickly even if they try to loop AND protect generators/gates. The complete package. See the difference?
Thank you thank you thank you!! I'd much rather read something like this than watch a 15 minute video with information I can't use.
Im strictly survivor (until i can get spirit, that is) and I really want to get better...
I just wish it wasn't so easy to rank since i'm rank 9/8 and I really don't feel like im good enough to be playing with people of the same rank as me.. I just play a lot.

All I know is I have been downed from this problem countless times even if i'm trying to loop. He just follows me around the corners and there's nothing I can do.
