People still using stretched resolution? its not like survivor is already easy enough.

Fact is, stretched res gives you an advantage and the streamer had every right to call you out on it.

Did you even read the post? I used it but it had no use on those loops. I didn't play rock pallets but wall tiles on macmillan. Like tl walls and pallet gyms/jungle gyms. The whole connected midsection. He blamed me for false misgivings like "bigger stain" which I said is all false in the post.

  • I mean it's personal preference isn't it? For some people it might actually look better. Like the ppl that play 1600x1080,just a bit stretched but they like it way more than 1920x1080. And then there's 900x1080 which I saw in comp vids which was vomit inducing.

  • Same thing I said to the other guy,If you try to change ur res to get the horizontal fov going the other way around, the game closes ur view and doesn't let the screen compress to give you advantage. Why haven't they done the same thing with stretched?

  • @Mooks said:

You are really trying to defend your literal cheating with the excuse that it doesn’t give you unlimited views on all loops?

Made this post with this exact reasoning to see these comments occur. If it was cheating I'm pretty sure devs could patch it,considering if you try going the other way around with changing it and trying to get horizontal fov for example it actually makes ur view smaller. Why haven't they done the same thing with stretched?

  • @Predated said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/269453/i-want-to-clear-something-about-stretched-res

Not how the stretched res works in DBD. Stretched res changes where your camera is. Meaning you DO see over things you normally cant. The effect might be relatively minimal, but it can make the difference between knowing you can fake out a pallet once more or have to dedicate.

1440*1080 is a big enough difference where you can look over the rock loops on McMillan where normal survivors cant.

"That you can magically see over any wall in the game. Some don't even know it only gives vertical fov, they think you can see around walls more." Extra vertical FOV literally means you can see over certain walls you're not supposed to look over. It's why they started increasing the height of walls in jungle gyms on reworked maps.

It only helps on autohaven walls tho from what I've seen, the rock part is defo true can't say anything bout it. That's why I said it helps on open loops,I meant filler pallets. My mistake.

  • @Crowman said:

If it does nothing, then why even stretch your res?

You are not fooling anyone with this "defense" of stretch res.

Didn't say it does nothing,in fact I did say it helps on open loops. Read again, all I'm saying is it doesn't help on loops with walls, exception being autohaven cause of the low walls.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

you feel the need to point this out why

Cause people keep saying it gives some dumb stuff like bigger stain or that you can magically see over any wall in the game. Some don't even know it only gives vertical fov, they think you can see around walls more. In short, people say it gives more advantages then it does, just that. And i felt the need to vent a bit.

    This "Stun Validation" is garbage.

I hit a David with my Chainsaw, I heard his scream, I saw the blood and he just walked away as if nothing had happened. This isn't fair.

He messed up the timing, therefore he is the one who deserves to get punished. Not me.

I hit the same guy 5 times through a pallet on my screen him being injured and not once did it connect. I play on 60-70ms,like it literally doesn't even matter anymore. This is how it's gonna be from now on prob very unfortunate.

  • @Killing_Time said:

This is a good thing. Killers will realize how Spirit controls the pallet game and then it'll increase the amount of spirit players. Good luck guessing all game survivors lol.

Too bad IW completely removes any audio cues and only thing you can pray on is them not having IW and scratchmarks cause you can't hear footsteps in phase 🀑🀑🀑

Yeah, I think it's an unintentional side effect of the Pallet Validation, because there's absolutely no reason there should even be "Lunge Validation" in the open, but yet there is.

    Very probable,very

  • Gonna be prob regular from now on until they fix it if ever.

  • Asked the same question, never got the answer. Like how devs just ignore questions like these very helpful from them πŸ˜ƒ

That's assuming we are talking about if it happens 1st pallet.

In my experience usually a survivor that knows what they are doing will loop me around 5-6 pallets before I would finally get that chance to down them, and on my screen I'm doing everything correctly because it shows that I am in reach to finally hit the Survivor that I've been chasing for what seems like ever, and then I DO land that hit (again according to what the feedback from the game is ACTUALLY telling me) and the Survivor still remains uninjured.. despite all my hard work on ONE single survivor while the others are working on gens of course, and it basically in these cases extends that survivors ability to loop substantially.

Now my point being, that it's completely unfair to a Killer not just because of the above circumstance, but consider that in these cases that I am referring to, I did nothing wrong, I see a screen and know when my lunge is in distance to land, and I attack then.. the lunge does land successfully on my screen so I did the play correctly as best as I possibly could in that moment with what is available to me, the game indicates so by showing us the down and the scream BEFORE we get hit by the Pallet. It means that we Lunged within distance at the appropriate time BEFORE the Survivor actually had time to drop the Pallet at the right angle for example, and then the Server essentially teleports us backward for a moment and saves the Survivor.

I'd also like to mention that it's not like Survivors have been using this as intended and standing at Pallets waiting for Killers to come near and lunge at them to drop the pallet and stun.. no, Survivors I've been facing have been completely abusing it and just adding very confident additional Loops to their loops.. in fact, they literally keep looping now until you Lunge at them no matter what because they know that 100% of the time the Pallet Stun will save them from getting injured.

It's true too, even if they wait to pallet stun me when I'm already basically across the Pallet and even end up on THEIR side after the Stun, if my attack lands on them they will still end up not being injured, seen it happen now many times and these people who were already godlike at looping can just loop like 2-4 more times in the same loops safely now with almost 0 risk. It has essentially made every single Pallet Loop a Safe Pallet in the game for Survivors. Just something to consider..

    • ALSO - Something crazy happened to me today, but MY LUNGE (not at a pallet, in open land) got "Hit Validated" .. yes, this is a thing, I actually Lunged WITHIN Distance in the open, SAW the Survivor get hit and Scream, then all of the sudden their character model went full on white (like it does with Pallet Hit Validation) for a second, and they were back to being 100% uninjured, and I even teleported backwards slightly with my character at that same moment. But I saw the blood, heard the scream, even saw the red claws on her HUD face in the top left and then all the sudden she immediately went back to being healthy, within a second later whilst slightly teleporting me backwards.

Had that thing happen to me i got my hit cancelled in the open for no reason lmao

  • M1 killers already get looped to oblivion and destroyed enough this just makes them even weaker.

well i have a ping between 30 and 45 ms, so i really don't think it was on my side Oo

i haven't had that happen once when my ping was stable i get around 60-70,only one game when my ping spiked 4-5 times rly dunno

  • @Adeloo said:

From a survivor perpective it's definitly better, i still get hit from 3m of a window tho but i think they onyly change pallet so that's maybe normal ^^

As for killer, it's also better but there is s weird stuff like survivors tping back and forth as the system is trying to sync their position...

Only happens if your ping fluctuates.

It's likely a bug. The time she had her moaning back even when phasing was a bug. This might take a month or 2 for them to patch out. And predictably this is celebrated because of spite and will probably be labeled as "the beginning of counterplay, but more needs to be done" by people. If people think this is a good thing, they're not thinking objectively.

I definitely agree on that πŸ™

  • @GannTM said:

I want this fixed. It makes Spirit frustrating to play as.

Yeah,I can defo get by the stridor change but being fully deaf against healthy/IW survs is kinda dumb.

  • @ukenicky said:

If I'm not mistaken this is a bug with Iron Will but I'm not 100% certain.

Will wait for someone else to confirm lol

Doesn't matter if they use iron will even normal survs don't have footsteps 😳

  • @Bradyguy99 said:

I had a hit with the survivor screaming and me wiping my weapon but they took no damage and then I got stunned.... Wired internet by the way with high speed....

Will be completely normal now had that happen 5 times against the same guy and my ping hovers around 60-70

  • @Jaffycake said:

It isn't a feature, it should have always been like this but you were getting an unfair advantagte, This change corrects that.

Sure does lmao I played surv earlier today a freddy's claw was literally on me and it didn't connect. Like his weapon was on me and it just didn't connect I got a stun. It works better than before ofc but still It seems a bit too good now. Considering m1 killers are already weak enough.

  • Yeah realms like autohaven are terrible cause of the low open loops but farm maps are godlike. Truly depends on the map you verse him on.

  • I thought I was hallucinating the first time it happened, knew immediately I wasn't when it happened again. Had it happen so many times yesterday, thought it was cus of bad ping but I always hover around 50-60. Haven't gotten a single hit through pallet since yesterday.

As a solo player, there are some matches I'd rather not re-live, but the idea it's somehow full of imbeciles is grossly exaggerated.

I've had more fun matches than problematic, and I much prefer the harder difficulty and unpredictability that makes me a far better player, because I have to learn to roll with the chaotic flow of the trial.

With swf, if they're using comms to direct the match then really it's Dead By Daylight on tutorial mode and I much prefer a challenge. Although, in fairness the one time I tried swf I absolutely hated the distraction of chatting team mates and it destroyed any immersion for me.

Overall, for me SoloQ is the best experience.

You put it in a really good way, couldn't have said it better

Honestly,Solo Queue in itself isn't as bad as most people claim.

It's only that bad because of bad matchmaking. That's it

Hope the MMR will fix it as someone mentioned(that is if BHVR doesn't mess it up :D)

  • @GrimoireWeiss said:

Solo queue can be amazing sometimes. I even had to record a match today:

    https://youtu.be/m31Ikc4Bxps

    (Ignore the lag, console pleb)

5 gens done in 4:40 against a rank 2 Spirit. Sure she was pretty bad, but imo it's still impressive. Solo queue can be efficient too.

My hope is that a functioning MMR is what will save solo queue, so you can actually get 3 teammates that are on your level.

That is a thing I have been thinking about too,the possibility of MMR actually saving soloQ,that is if it works properly. Praying for it πŸ™

  • @meatisadelicacy said:

My experience in solo queue is selfish teammates who are either too lazy or too scared to help anyone else. People leave me to die for no reason when I've single handedly finished the last two gens while they hid, and opened both gates, and cleansed NOED, and went down to make a save when I could have left several minutes prior. Fully healed teammates leave me for no reason when they know there is no NOED. I've had games where there is one gen to go, and I find all three teammates literally just standing at the last gate, waiting for me to finish it. If there is NOED, rarely do any of them even take a second to look for the totem. Ive had games where I literally run the killer for EIGHT MINUTES STRAIGHT and they still don't do all the gens, but they certainly all had their crowns.

I'm glad solo queue has been nice for you, but in my more than 1500 hours, almost entirely as a solo queuer, it's miserable.

Hope you'll get better teammates in the future <3

  • @ringwinning said:

My experience has almost universally been soloQ except for maybe a couple months when I had a SWF. I don't mind it; for me it's the default way to play and I think it's intended to be that way. I just think it's annoying that, for me, it's imperative to drag Kindred along for the ride because otherwise I would be blind.

My experience has probably been 90% soloQ/10% swf. I just enjoy playing alone more I guess. Kindred is really good In soloQ games I agree on that!

Yeah I didn't intend to rustle so many peoples' jimmies. This game is kind of starting to lose its charm for me so I may move on to something more fun to me. I don't like things to be easy because the match isn't any fun.

Go into the competitive scene if it's too easy, not even sarcastic try it. Maybe it'll help ya

  • Had a trapper who literally pretended to farm and killed off 2 people. After that me and my teammate somehow got 4 gens done with each of us having very long chases, the killer was quite bad. He was vaulting t l walls over and over. Too bad,he had noed.

  • Just play nurse or spirit and learn them,i didn't need to tunnel once since I learned to play them(and the "genrush" problem doesn't occur either). I barely do it with other killers,I'm more for the hooks over kills mentality but sometimes it just is the best option unfortunately.

  • Had a huntress yesterday, and she was clearly aware of how terrible the latency and the hitbox of the hatchet combined are. She threw the hatchets so far from me around the walls but knowing it'd hit she kept going at it. Really hate going against her since servers were introduced.

  • @Altarf said:

No, you're not imagining things. The Game was changed from the most killer-sided map in DBD to one of the most survivor-sided maps in the graphics update. This is because there are 24 pallets if I remember correctly, and all but a couple of them are incredibly safe.

It's not fun. If you're a killer who can avoid/break pallets easy, like Bubba or Nurse or Nemesis, then you have a much better time. For anyone else though, it's a living hell.

Good to know thank you for the response!

I've been crashing every time I heard the lullaby. It causes my sound driver to crash. I've enjoyed the game more the past few days more than at any time in a very long time. The DC penalty was definitely an anti-fun mechanic.

    Fix ur sound driver?

  • Every 2nd game someone dcs for me,doesn't matter whether I play survivor or killer. It's not better at all without the penalties.

  • @Chewy102 said:

Does anyone remember the first PTB version of dedicated servers? Those had server side hits and they was HORRIBLE. Attacks as Killer would be extremely inconsistent. Id land attacks I had NO right to land (swinging late and hitting the air behind them) and miss attacks that should have been certain. Attacks would also land upwards of half a second AFTER the fact. When the Killer is saying he landed bad hits, something ######### up.

That was a 160 ping if I recall.

DbD was not made with dedicated servers in mind. Forcing them in after the fact is only doing more harm than good. Just look at how many Killer powers flat out broke after servers was added. Look at how many things are STILL JANK today thanks to servers! If you think making damage server side is gonna do good, then you have no idea what you are talking about.

160 ping is terrible tho, just saying.

  • @Cheers said:

To be fair, Ruin turned out for the better imo. They know the game more than most of us do.

I think they are completely wrong here. They are removing the alot more fun aspect of billy by adding the overheating mechanic, which is curving at loops. If you can't hold the saw,you can't mindgame loops. And if you can't hold, then it's gonna also be harder to hit back revs. 0 Reason to give him that mechanic.

  • I loved playing flickbilly/playing against him,not gonna happen anymore with the overheat mechanic so there goes that. You only have like a few seconds of a mindgame attempt and if you take too long you are gonna get punished too hard.

  • Nice. It's probably a PC player like someone else mentioned aswell, considering hackers are able to actually change the platform they are playing on.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    I'd love to disagree heavily.

Maps like these, where people are forced to change their platstyle, are so much better than the basic maps. Haddonfield I get, hate that map with a passion, but I like the rest of them.

Also I wouldn't call Cowshed a particularly skillful map. You can combine so many safe pallets and tiles it's like Ormond part 2. You know how to hold W? You basically win those maps.

I hate indoor maps, and some unique maps as the op calls them(although I hate them cause of their look, rather than gameplay). You're completely right there, they make you play different, the tiles there are different, everything changes and it forces you to play differently overall.

  • PC player who got himself onto ps4 servers probably, happened before quite alot of times. Although without a video, there's just no proof.

  • Blinking immediately with a chain blink is possible by an addon,it's called "Campbell's last breath" ^^
