I'm a rank 1 killer I know lol I just thought eventually the match would timeout haha
no worries :D
-
Yep, if you recorded the match, you can upload the video and attach the link to your report. The steam id is important too.
-
as a killer, you can start the ECG by opening the door. If the generators are not completed, you have to close the hatch to do so.

Came here with flowers and chocolate.
Well, your loss! T_T

How? Killer side we just have a circle with 12 marks. No idea who each one corresponds with
Oh, my bad. Only played survivor so far, but we have the 3 marks for each one.

What things do you see survivors do that you simply can't understand. I'm going to ask everyone to refrain from calling things stupid and such as I am hoping to see people explain doing things others don't understand. Explanations are generally more clear when people don't feel attacked.
I'll start....
The survivors that confuse me the most are the ones that get slugged and never move from the spot they were slugged. I'm not talking about someone that heals first. I'm talking about someone that simply doesn't move at all. I personally can not come up with any thing that even seems remotely strategic about doing that.
Did you slug them to down the last one standing? If that's the case, they wanted you to find them easily instead of waiting to bleed on the ground. Another possibility is that they took the opportunity to go grab a drink or something.

Had a match recently where someone tried to body block me on the way to the hook, but didn't have a flashlight or anything to actually save their teammate, so they just went down and got put on the next hook. He did it twice, the second time causing his own death.
He had Breakout or was farming Mettle of Man stacks? XD

Oof if the bubbles don't show up if they are too close this part of the perk becomes much more limited
I went back to the wiki and only found the max range for loud noise notifications (48m BTW). I am not sure about the criteria for the min range, but I believe there is a radius associated and possibly a LOS component. that requires testing tho.

Sounds pretty cool, I glossed over the part where the killer could also trigger it and you wouldn't know. The problems with this though is that if someone is working on a generator it will constantly trigger the perk and you would not get much use out of it, it would be more annoying than helpful (most generators have crows that are disturbed by working on them).
The notification bubbles do not pop up if you're too close to the origin, just like a survivor in chase fast vaulting in front of the killer. IDK the actual radius for them to start showing up tho.

Stake out or Resilience and Trail of Torment and ohh boy, let me tell you something about Trail of Torment, i caught so many unsuspecting survivors with this, it's so much fun :p
There is a meme/somewhat effective build using Stake Out + This is not happening. If you keep landing great skill checks, you can keep the stacks from stake out, while gaining 2% progress bonus instead of 1% for each skill check basically reverting the nerf :P.
-
On a side note, It helps you keeping track when you have multiple survivors with the same outfit.

The clowns I faced didn't use the antidote at all, not sure why.

What if a crow is disturbed when in 36m radius, you receive a noise noti. Cool down of 5sec. An opposite to Spies from the Shadow.
You dont know its from Survivor or Killer.
In return, I would love to see Spies from the Shadow gives Killer ability not to disturb the Crow.
Just as I said above :P
for the Spies, I'd rather increase its CD a bit and make the crow follow the survivor creating notifications for a few seconds just like the ones you get after going AFK.

Balanced landing doesn't seem like a bad perk, I don't play much survivor so i could be wrong but still I feel like it's better than a lot of other perks.
Balanced fell from meta after the nerf, even Lithe is more used RN due to easier activation. The issue with BL is not the perk, but the maps. In some of them (ex: Shelter Woods) the only way to activate it is to drop into the basement because even hills will not spawn. It would be nice if the devs added some assets like the small stairs from Hawkins bc at the moment using it is risking entering a match with 3 perks.
-
it's a nice addition, but I am not sure if it fits the context of the perk. Wouldn't it be better if it worked like Spies from the Shadows where you see the notification bubble, but not the aura on a small CD? Since killers and survivors can trigger crows, it would have some depth involved.
-
Detective's Hunch, Balanced Landing.
-
The previous ones with the inclined posture seemed anxious, threatened. The survivors now stand straight and look more human to me. I like the fluid movement of some transitions, especially dropping on the floor after being hit. Running while injured looks goofy, but so did stepping on PH's barbed wire. To be fair, I have no idea how I would run if I was stabbed, probably in a goofy way trying to hold my wound.
In general, I really like the changes.

Wow, that’s super abusable, I hope Swamp’s getting the redesign next because this seems like a core map issue with tile generation, there’s constant bugs, fatshames and exploitable spots there, I’ve just never seen one like yours or what I played today where it was so exploitable that it turned the whole game around. Let’s hope BHVR get on this ASAP with a hotfix
I think the swamp is a high priority on map reworks. They should fix all of this in a big batch.

Mine doesn’t need the gen, but that just goes to show how riddled swamp is with bugs :(
Mine did. There has been a lot of fat-shaming spots on the map that affect killers and survivors due to the random spawn of assets. They seemingly fixed a lot of the trapping spots on trees, tho.
-
If a gen spawns in the smaller boat, one of its sides blocks the killer passage. This bug has been reported already (I did 1 month or more ago I think).

I wouldnt knock it just yet. We'll have to see.
It's not good, believe me.
1- It suffers from a similar issue as Deliverance. If you're hooked before you can activate it, you lose half of the perk value.
2- To avoid the problem above, you need to play stealthy until the killer finds someone else, and you need to stop what you're doing rescue/heal a teammate.
3- If a teammate rescue you, they can heal you in 16 seconds, or 8 if they have WMI. And it's not like you have the option to be healed as the perk causes the broken status effect.
4-Inner Strength, for comparison, can heal you 5 times instead of 2 and also in 8 seconds.
I wish my statement ages like milk, but I doubt it.
-
@PodgeNotRodge said:
So yeah, 20 seconds now... pretty... pretty cool. Totally cant see a backlash to this 🤣
It's still bad, you won't see much in matches. It has an activation requirement along with a triggering at most twice a match. Worst of all, it renders your rescuer's We'll Make It useless. A yellow medkit with a brown bandage is better.
-
I am gonna go against the flow, here. The new HUD might take some time to adjust to, but I am excited about it, the same for the new animations. It's gonna be easier to hide behind trees by standing straight.
-
What's the point in continuing a match if there is no chance to escape?
DBD is snowbally by design, and it's not uncommon for a survivor team to smash a killer that lacks experience or good RNG. The same is true for the other side, and Killers can destroy the survivor team with the right conditions. The issue is: while the killer's final score ranges from 0k to 4k, Survivors have only a binary set of outcomes (escape, die) tied to a hefty 5k BP prize.
As a killer, you can always try to turn a loss (0/1k) into a draw (2k) or a draw into a win (3/4k). There is always a reason to continue as you deplete the resources, the map gets smaller, and one use survivor perks get wasted. Survivor is the opposite: start strong and lose influence the longer the game drags on. If you expect someone who had bad teammates or bad luck to fix 2 gens alone and open a door while looping the killer, then you're delusional. If there is no hope of escaping, why continue in the match at all, to entertain the killer?

On a more light tone, there is some stuff that makes me laugh out loud that would never happen in a competent team.

Face camp is scummy in the middle of the game, but necessary after the objectives are done. Is the killer supposed to leave the hook after the doors are open?

The only change he needs is BT should work against him.
nah, they need to raise his skill floor and give him more depth. It takes too little for a player to translate their efforts into wins compared to other killers. Freddy has the anti-looping power of the clown with a Demogorgon teleport that requires no setup and, as others said, a passively increasing status akin to pre-rework Doc's treatment mode.

That is really weird; that there is a survivor perk that can completely counter the stealth of any killer (ik you can just look to the side, but still).
As @Kebek said, the perk serves a purpose. You can easily identify its users and there is counterplay available. If anything, in small maps it can be disorienting with the number of false-positives for new players.

give me the proof of the spaghetti code.. and don't give me that scott jund video because that has nothing but conjecture as to how the game is programmed. your proof needs to be with the code itself, or else you are just throwing out a term to make things sound worse. want to know something? I have had 1 crash in the last 9 months. and i looked at the coding and it was an issue with my windows making a bad call on bad information. started dbd back up and it ran fine for another 4 hours. the hatch/DC exploit is nothing to do about any type of bad code. it is actually showing that the code is working fine. The code says if there is one living survivor the hatch opens period end of statement and it shows that this worked just fine.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1924225#Comment_1924225
it isn't as rare as you think, but YES it has curtailed because of the time penalties. blood points are a dime a dozen, killers and survivors don't give a damn about one match of blood points if they dc. the penalties are what they care about as well as making the killer "PAY" for their inability to finish the game alive.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1924335#Comment_1924335
so you will not dictate how survivors play but will dictate how killers are to play? well your acceptance of the DC as "OK" and "RIGHT" is accepting what I call an out of match exploit (yes you must leave the match functionality to get the screen and then click another button to do it) and should be punished harder than it is now. I how ever am not a dev for this game and must accept their decisions even though I disagree with their solution. and the fact you have to change what you say to avoid the ban makes it obvious you support disconnecting, and it's your right to thing and support anything you wish and your united states government will not take you into custody what so ever, but behavior on the other hand has no such restriction.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1924486#Comment_1924486
currently disconnecting has has the actual pros for the player:
1) loss of a pip, deranks him and puts him against lower capable killers
2) probably loss of pipping for the killer and that is a win.
3) getting teammate to escape out the hatch and get 7500 blood points (don't forget the hatch escape points.
cons:
1) loss of all blood points (can be gotten back by another escape cake or bloody party streamer so not so bad)
2) killer got 650 points which isn't even a hook plus hook state change. and it goes into the brutality points not the sacrifice points, and the devout emblem is not progressed.
3) killer got a 2K, one disconnect does not equal 1K by the points and no hook state for the devout emblem.
4) irritation for the killer when this happens.
you make it seem like a killer wouldn't give a damn about a hatch escape, but they do in many ways. your list is flawed because you don't look at it from how things actually work in the game. most killers say they consider a dc a kill just to placate their anger at the intentional dc.
Stop trying to frame the situation presented by OP as something else. Someone intentionally de-ranking won't wait for at least 6 hooks to DC, they do it seconds into the game.
Also, this game is not a MOBA and, as much as I hate people suiciding on hooks or DCing, no one should be stuck in a match they don't want to play.
Finally, on a personal note, I do play killer/survivor and face my fair share of DCs. I don't "give a damn about a hatch escape" or pretend to know "how things actually work in the game", I know how they work for me. But if the other team took a major BP and PIP loss to cut the match short, then I made a good job at depriving them of hope.
-
I don't get why you call it an exploit? it's working as intended. Yes, it's scummy to end the match early when the other side is winning, but look at the aftermath:
Pros:
1-The DC took -1 pip and lost all match BPs.
2-The killer got quitter bonus.
3-The killer got a 3k, still a win.
Cons:
1-One survivor got 5k BP for escaping.

Do people actually find this addon helpful?
I tried to use it a few times recently I never really bothered before- but I can't hit any blinks with this on because it's so distracting and it throws me way off the mark. Like, I would rather run padded jaws on trapper, or speed limiter on bubba than use this thing again haha.
It's not too hard to gauge a Nurse blink unless it bugs out; but this addon makes it so unreliable but some folks say it's helpful as can be. Maybe once you can blink with her without it using it is a hindrance? Idk.
I used it in my first few nurse matches. It's generally a nuisance, but nice in places with elevations and straight paths, AKA main building of the Ironworks.
The only application of it that I say is invaluable is to identify blockages and dead areas. Typically in new and reworked maps, the nurse can struggle with invisible obstacles, and that addon makes it so much easier to see them. Here's an example.
https://youtu.be/YkOdy1Ae8lYEvery time a new map comes, I would recommend you to equip this and go testing.

Then why not make it useful because your running one perk at that point
I didn't say it needed to be useless, just that they made it weak. XD
You have to remember that devs create whole characters at a time, with the theme and general balance as constraints for their toolkits. The balance seems to be around the toolkit, which gives them design room to develop strong and weak perks. The last time we saw a killer with really strong perks was Plague, and to this day she is the first purchase recommended by the community. Sometimes they are also very conservative, see PH's perks that required changes shortly after his release to become relevant.
I don't think they want to repeat either of those scenarios.

Like I dont get it it blocks pallets within 16m of you for 15s upon a basic attackand it has a cool down in the speed burst they get you can go 20m just by holding forward not to mention it's a hex like this perk is worse than cruel limits it can be destroyed and has no effect can its range be increased to 24m and lose the cool down or keep the cooldown and make the pallets be blocked for 30s like this perk is almost as useful as monstersious shrine and it's a hex
Know what I'm gonna re do the perk right here
Hex blood favor a hex that gains the entiteys favor when blood is spilt
When a surivor is bit by a basic they will be cursed with blood favor pallets within 8m of the marked surivor will be blocked this effect will last for 20s
Blood favor has a 40s cooldown
Wow who would of guessed 3 simple changes could make a useless perk that's called a hex a real threat
Edit if that's too strong then the mark can be applied to the killer allowing a survivor to pre drop the pallet if they wish at the cost of it of it being gone instantly and the effect will last 23s because of the 3s weapon hit animation
Why is Blood Favour a hex? Bc Undying is purely a Hex support perk.
Undying needs another hex to be fully effective, so they gave Blight a weak one. People going for adept Blight would be screwed if he only had Undying as hex perk.
