Actual gamechanging tip:
Leave gens that are in structures or special buildings (Like the ship gen in the swamp, or the saloon gen on the Saloon) for last. The killer has to waste a lot of valuable time to get up the structure and chase the survivors working there off, while other survivors can work on other gens.
Yes, this is a very good one!

I'm gonna go ahead and bump this thread so as many players as possible has the chance to see it.

I don't disagree. Luckily, I don't purchase the pass until I've reached Tier 60+. I only spend the money if feel like I could comfortably finish the Rift with the time remaining. I saw the opportunity to mitigate any potential loss. I just hope that other people aren't falling victim to pre-purchasing the pass during these tests, changes, and unacceptable disruptions.
Well put.

I agree that it's way to powerful in a SWF.

If i'm not wrong, All killers with a certain height have the same hitbox regardless of model, Huntress being no different.
Latency also plays a role in this "stun radius" thing
Unless it's a bug that makes the Huntress's hit box slightly larger, but it'd be very hard to believe. I'll be more inclined to believe it's a Latency issue and DBD hitboxes being ... you know... DBD Hitboxes
Makes sense. Could it be camera plecement?

@manicmonday report it as a bug, maybe?
-
@IronKnight55 Agreed. Honesty would have been the path with least resistance.

Interesting how Tome IV is only worth about as much as Tome I in Rift progress. Though it has also been a very easy set of challenges thus far (like Tome I was).
Tome III, worth the most Rift progress, had all the controversial challenges like Dwight the Brave, Seizing Discord (two grabs in one trial), and all the "Hit X amount of survivors with a single use of Feral Frenzy" nonsense. IMO, it was the hardest challenge set we've faced by a large margin compared to other Tomes.
Tome IV also has far fewer Collection entries than Tome III did (34 vs 43, respectively). Fewer Master Challenges definitely helps to make it an easier Tome once again, but also means fewer Rift Shards and lower bonus BP. Tome II also had 43 entries, whereas Tome I only had 33.
Basically, Tomes I and IV are just inherently smaller than Tomes II and III due to fewer lore entries and, by extension, less Master Challenges.
Though I'd be fine with these smaller Tomes if we could just nerf the Rift itself. I would much rather ditch all the re-skinned charms and shorten the Rift to only be 50 levels instead of 70 (and get a nice parallel to the Bloodweb system). The Free Rift would then have fewer "dead levels" between rewards, and the Premium Rift would lead to desirable cosmetics much faster (and likely be more enticing for it). It would be a tale of Quality over Quantity.
Exactly. Many of us struggled with completing the rift because the progress was so sluggish. They addressed it and 'atoned' their mistake. They basically said they hadn't accounted for time spent in lobbies and thus needed to up the amount of fragments to make the rift attainable for a bigger audience. The challenges may be easier but they have increased the grind with 70 games worth of playtime (if you compare it with Tome III). That doesn't feel very honest to me.
I wouldn't mind a smaller rift either to be honest. I already have a ton of charms that I won't use.

@manicmonday there is literally no steam, bubbly, witch-cauldron stuff! Even the rift preview is a scam? lmao

I noticed after level 1 of this tome it felt like I didn't progress as far as usual, same with level 2.
Well, now you know why. You're not going crazy :-)
-
@manicmonday Okay, now that's a whole new level of dissapointment though! I thought it looked really neat. T-T
-
@neko @Warcrafter4 @kaeru Yah, this reeks. I was hoping they'd take the high road, but it seems unlikely.

Can someone confirm the level 3 challenges for me? It should be 12 normal and 8 rare for 76 fragments.

They reverted the changes for monetary gain, it's that simple. It's not something that affects gameplay in barely any way, so it doesn't matter. This isn't rocket science and it's not hard to figure out.
Yes, but I still feel you are missing the point. They are bamboozling their players by providing a false baseline of sorts. In January they announced that the upcoming tomes will reward more fragments and be easier to complete. Then, two tomes later, they revert the values without saying a single word about it. As is obvious by this thread, players assume that the January statement is valid (as no one has told them different), and buys the rift on false ground.

The rift is not something you need to complete to gain an advantage over other players. I don't see monetizing it as anything bad or underhanded. I'd much rather they monetize cosmetics than monetize DLCs / make them more expensive.
Another strawman. We're not discussing whether monetization is wrong or not (spoiler: it's not). We're discussing why they reverted changes that they previously made to comply with the fanbase without communicating they did so.

Hey everyone! I did some more comparisons. The current tome (including non-official stats) yields a total of 348 fragments. That's only 8 more fragments than Tome I that BHVR stated was too grindy. Now, obviously our queue times has approved somewhat since back then, but they cut 57 fragments since last time, almost 6 levels. You get approximately 0.8 fragments per game played. This means you need to play approx. 70 matches on top of the one you needed to play since the last tome. That's quite a few games.
Tome I: 340 fragments
Tome II: 393 fragments
Tome III: 405 fragments
Tome IV: 348 fragments

@VSLI thanks.

Thanks for the input @SenzuDuck and @VSLl . I have updated the post accordingly.

CURRENT TOME (IV)
Level 3: 12 common and 8 rare challenges = 76 fragments (+10 for completion)
Level 4: 12 common and 8 rare challenges = 76 fragments (+10 for completion)
Obviously, there are fewer fragments in tome 4. Each level has 20 challenges.
Wait, you saw level 3 and 4?
-
@Chappy04 You're beating a strawman here. The post is about the fact that the rift was changed without any acknowledgement, while the favorable change was clearly communicated. Also, the rift progress is linear and relative to minutes spent in games + challenges. The 70 day span has not changed, but so has the amount of tome challenges. The grind is therefore objectively worse.
It doesn't matter if it's supposed to be a grind or if it's 'just cosmetics'. The formula changed.

I've almsot completed the second page and am only rank 21 or so. That's with tons of time spent played inbetween rift page unlocks.
I don't see how I'm supposed to get 50 levels from 2 more pages. I feel like they've ignored all the feedback on the grind.
Well to be fair they did listen at first. But I think it's even worse that they actively reinserted more grind to the system. Ninja-style.

I wondered why it felt off after finishing the first two tiers. Perhaps they will include more challenges in tier 3 and 4? can always be hopeful for that. I'm only on 22 currently on my rift gotta get to grinding it away.
Yes, I'm hoping the amount of fragments will be the same but distributed differently (that would mean a TON off challenges in the last two levels). Or that this was some mistake that will be adjusted.

why does this matter when you lvl up at the speed of light anyway. if you just get the challenges done and play couple games a day you will easy get the pass done. ive bought no tiers and im tier 52 with 45+ days left before the rift goes away.
I can only speak for myself but it matters because
(a) Fragments are awarded at a fixed amount based on time you spend in games + challenges. I do not have enough time in my schedule to 'level up at the light of speed'.
(b) It was not addressed at all. On the other hand, the change that granted more progress was very much communicated. Everybody knew BHVR was the good guy. If they change the formula: fine. Just let me be aware of that when I make my decision to buy it.

Yes, very interesting indeed. I did not break any of the forum rules so I'm hoping it stays!

@Madjura I would prefer them being upfront about it. If they announced it, it's at least not sleazy. Just greedy :)
-
@Madjura Also, they were very quick to communicate the positive changes they made beforehand. If I recall correctly, they announced it with a big banner. Where's the banner now?
-
@Madjura But surely this must be worse, no?
-
@HectorBrando Yup. I'm just glad I didn't have the auric cells at hand and decided to wait.

I managed to dead hard out of there.

@EmpireWinner I think it's fine when it's a dress or something along the lines of... I didn't get the logic when it came to the Nea skin, but who am I to judge?

I wish they would just add a mechanic that if you stamp on Corn it would stay down or something like that, it would make Corn Maps MUCH more bearable to play.
Yeah, that would be a nice feature actually. I get a terrible headache when I'm trying to discern details in the corn. I'm just gonna throw all corn map games from now on.

Well, to make it more accessible for people of different variety.

No. I wonder if it is glued to his head?

I agree but also - a 4.6M/s killer with a ranged attack that ignores obstacles and can target multiple survivors seems pretty strong to me.
-
I agree that Haddonfield still has issues with the long walls. I would also like to see a rework on Hawkins to make some of the pallets a bit safer.

I’m cringing so hard at this. Big yikes.

I know, I know. I want a search function so bad. But still! There is some order in the chaos :)

I reported it yesterday. You should go ahead and upvote it though so that the devs can see that more players have the issue: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/150452/huntress-exhaustion-add-ons-doesnt-work#latest

Same here
-
@zakazan I'm talking about games where killer and survivors stop playing topwards the objective and just do actions to farm bloodpoints. In my case: killer downs me, another survivor revives. The killer then downs me again and the cycle repeats itself. I do not bleed out and I cannot really do anything to break the cycle.
@tippy2k2 But this means I have to record the ocurrence, right? My computer doesn't have the juice for that.
-
What bothers me the most is that the grind increases exponentially with every new chapter. The latest adjustment was a step in the right direction, but it doesn't make up for the increase in grind with each new chapter.
-
I would use it if I could control whenever I wanted to leave "infinity" scratchmarks. If 4 survivors use it and it has no cooldown/limit, the scratchmarks would be all over the map making tracking very hard for killers. That may be too OP.
-
Cool idea! But maybe with certain conditions like Dance With Me?
-
I feel the same as you. Gonna grab the last rift progress thingies and then I'm putting the game on a shelf.
