Now that we have an update on the Patch can anyone say what's in the Shrine? Steam is down right now, for me at least.

For me aswell, would like to know the perks this week.

Its a reflex at this point.

True, I see man streamers who immediately press escape and click "leave match" when bullshit happens. But then they realize they shouldn't and then decicde to stay. It really is a reflex for some people.

  • We seriously need a minigame during waiting times. Sometimes I run 2 games at the same time, the 2nd game only because of dbd which obviously eats up fps when I switch back to dbd.

so? there is nothing wrong with face camping and tunneling just like there is nothing wrong with pallet looping and gen rushing and don't come at me saying it is not fun because most people do not care about my fun so why should I?

    Ohhh, Leatherface facecamper detected?

  • ..... (im seriously very disappointed if the basekit nerf goes live)

Press F guys, the nurse was such a great killer to dominate sweaty swf groups.

Spirit. As soon as you get in a chase your odds of surviving are close to null. The entire sequence is in her favor since you get little to no information to what she is doing and when.

Even being stealthy and using Iron Will won't work if Spirit uses Stridor (and she should, since that nullifies her only weakness).

At least she requires some skill, Hillbilly is just free.

Spirit requires less skill than Billy. All you need for spirit is good headphones and good ears.

  • Damn, I have still to many insta heals and puddings on Nurse left!! Ooof, rushing now!

Except, if W.Ward worked on dropped items, what happens if you drop/get Franklen's(d), someone picks it up, and you die while they escape?

Do you keep your item AND they keep it? (Could be abused to duplicate items)

Does it take it from them? (Unfair for them)

Do you lose it because they took it? (Unfair for you)

So W.Ward CANNOT work on dropped items, be it dropped by you or by a Franklin's Killer. It's working as intended to prevent a whole mess of problems.

It shouldn't be possible to pick someone's item in the first plays. It's just super frustating in solo Q when someone else steals your stuff.

Uhh..I remember seeing this argument a few months back.

No, White Ward does not, and should not, counter Franklin's. Even the devs said this was no oversight and is working as intended.

You missed his point, nowhere he said that it should directly counter FD. You would just keep it at the end but still drop it when hitted (which is the only reason why you would use FD)

"Oh, I hear a completely directionless chainsaw noise, I should get behind cover."

"LOL [BAD WORD] YOU, you hid behind the SOUTH side of an obstacle instead of the WEST side so you're instadowned when I come around the corner in under half a second, no chase for you!"

Oh, you went through a window and around a corner? Nah, you're still downed.

You went 180 degrees around a wall? Nah, I turned at the start so I still hit you.

"Counterplay" is not "50/50 shot that he'll turn left when you go right" and vice versa.

I NEVER got chainsaw sniped. Like, legit never. Everyone who gets chainsaw sniped is a complete noob or just had a potato moment and just has to git gud. Just wanted to make this one clear

You have all the rights to feel disappointed. They missed two important release back to back (i.e. dedicated servers release and the event), this makes them appear as a team that put a random deadlines without knowing their skill.

Nothing bad about it honestly. They could just say nothing instead. I rather get a date and delay than nothing and just a suprise update when finished

  • @Rivyn said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/792921#Comment_792921

What's got your britches in a bunch? So the event had been delayed. You make it sound like your grandmother is being held hostage.

I may not be an expert on how releases work, but I can use common sense. Any PC update needs to pass console inspection. While the original delay is on the devs, it is slowed down by the console process. Nowhere did I say the devs are free of blame. I simply meant that however long it takes now, it's on Sony. That's not a bad thing, and why you make it seem like such is beyond me. Again, an event was delayed. Big whoop.

It's not slowed down by the consoles, it's a requirement already known so it has to be calculated into the plan beforehand. I'm not complaining tho cuz idc when the event drops, just wanted to make this part clear

  • @Rivyn said:

500 hours since August. . . my god.

Honestly, I don't see why postponing the event is such a big deal. It just delays the rewards. Not like we'll be doing anything knew.

There was a tweet earlier that the event passed Xbox certification, it just needs to pass Sony before they release it on all platforms. So, take it up with Sony and the PS4.

I thought the same, like how can you have 500 just since August? He played this game like it's needed to breath in and out lol

  • @Peanits said:

Until it's ready. That's all we can say right now. If we had a date to give you, we'd give it to you, but this is the sort of situation where we can't possibly say for sure. It's the type of deal where as soon as it's ready, we're sending it off for certification and then the update is out.

Can you at least give us this update aka "hey community, we send the update off for certification so expect the update to drop in 2-3 days" when you have done that? Thank you.

  • @Huntedfailure said:

A making and updating a game is incredibly hard work so you can expect bugs to pop up at random or for one little tweak to break something completely so give them time.

Other game companies have better quality, why is it so difficult for bhvr to get their stuff together and fix all these (reoccurring) bugs? Because it's not their highest priority.

  • @Fibijean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/793400#Comment_793400

Again, I'd be interested to know how much SWF you yourself play. I play SWF quite a lot, and my experience has been much more aligned with Peanits'. Every SWF player I've seen on the forums and in this thread also seems to have that same experience.

I'm not denying that in the hands of an expert, and I mean like top 0.5%, player, voice coms can be a significant advantage. But for the vast majority of players, that's not really the case, because they don't have the game knowledge to take advantage of it. Although potentially people could be going "I found the killer's ruin totem, it's in the north-west corner of the map behind the T-wall, and I'm looping them about 50 metres away", that's not really how it happens in practice. Most of the time the conversations in my game run more like this:

    "I found the ruin totem."

"Awesome. [Thirty seconds later] Have you cleansed it yet?"

    "No, I'm in a chase."

    "... Okay, where is it?"

"It's uh... kind of near the middle but also not really... behind a tree somewhere."

"Thanks, that narrows it down. I'll go look for it, then. [goes to cleanse totem, runs straight into killer] I thought you said you were in a chase?!"

"Oh yeah, no, I lost him."

That is, if we bother to communicate about what's going on in the game at all. And I'm betting that 99% of SWF players have a similar experience.

The other thing is, a lot of people who like to complain about the unfairness of voice coms don't take into account the disadvantages of playing with friends as opposed to solo, such as the impulse to do dangerous things you know you shouldn't do, like go for a hook save against a facecamper, for the sake of saving them. They're small, maybe, but they can and have cost me a lot of games.

To reiterate, I have never denied that in the right hands, SWF with voice coms can be a problem. I'm just saying that it's unrealistic to assume, as many seem to, that teams like that are anything more than a very small minority. And as Peanits said, there is a degree to which skilled and well-coordinated players will always be skilled and well-coordinated, regardless of the tools they are given to communicate.

I play 90% solo Q. But WHEN I just play "swf" without voice coms (just having actually good mates) we dominate majority of killers. And as soon as we use voice chat we completely stomp any killer on any map. The only time we struggle is omegablink Nurse with ebony mori on THE GAME and stuff like that. But even then, we manage to get at least 2 out.

  • @Fibijean said:

Specifically, what he said was "it doesn't make a whole lot of difference", and he's not wrong. You only have to look at the solo vs SWF survival rates to see that in the vast amount of cases, the gap is nowhere near as huge as most people assume.

I would caution you against this logic of "the devs clearly have no clue about their own game because they don't agree with me". I'm sure there are gaps in their knowledge, just as there are gaps in ours. But I assure you, Peanits is far from the only person who sees that the difference coms make, in the vast majority of cases, is negligible.

That's not to say that they don't have the potential to be gamebreaking, but it's important to keep it in perspective and recognise that very few survivors take the game seriously enough, and only the tiniest minority of survivor players have the game knowledge necessary to take full advantage of that potential. So in other words, I'm not saying it's not a problem at all, but it's not the widespread disaster that many people like to paint it as.

Logical fallacy my friend. If you put potatoes on voice coms and experts in solo of cause it doesn't look like a big difference. But when you out 4 experts in solo Q and then the same 4 in swf voice coms you will notice a huuuuuge difference. Everyone who denies that is lying to himself.

Again, how? This is solely for entertainment. If broken ######### happens it will frankly be even more entertaining. No one has any expectations. This is not an eSports tournament.

I mean if you think gamebreaking bugs are good promotion then hey, believe it I don't care.

  • This game is a buggy mess, even more with dedicated servers. Rubberbanding and stupid lag is always part of dbd and on top of that it's unbalanced af with all the rng. It's going to be very embarrassing.

  • No. I want to change my build according to my team mates (I sometimes check steam profile or just simply guess by the skins they use). Also it would just nerf solos even more because they can't communicate at all anymore. Nope sorry, just wait the 60 seconds.

  • @ChainsawCharlie said:

I went against a Nurse last night on Lery's on PS4 and she destroyed us. She's still very playable. I wouldn't even consider it a nerf, more than it was simply an adjustment.

Lmao if you get destroyed on Lerry's you 100% just bad. Lerry's has so many juke potantional on Nurse, taking this as example just shows you have 0 clue how to counter nurse. And that this hapoened on PS4 makes it just even more funnier lol

and you wont hear any "good" argument when you keep ignoring them away.

    here is a good argument:

nurses base power allows her to break any mechanics survivors should have during chases to avoid the killer and therefore makes it impossible to escape her.

as i have said before, i wont go into the whole debate of objective times here. that is a whole different topic.

It seems like you know only one mechanic escaping the killer called pallet looping and that you don't know about LoS looping.

  • Versing a decent killer while you team is full potatoe. You are the last man standing with all 3 slugged and you manage to pick them up one by one while the killer is still on your butt. Not only once, but multiple times and at the end 2+ survivor escape.

  • The biggest positive I see is that the insta heal and Nurse nerf is delayed aswell so I can milk em out as long as it lasts.

  • Everyone hates this map. It looks ascetic and really good, but it doesn't play well on it.

  • Just pick nurse and lea.. Oh wait, she's nerfed soon. Pick up spirit and learn her.

  • Isn't it absolutly standard that you rather die because of stupid team mates than the killer being actually better than you in solo Q?

  • @BBQnDemogorgon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/789952#Comment_789952

    Very weird.

On PS4 i see nothing interesting from survivors anymore just gens 24/7 and maybe pallet blinds.

Survivors used to body block/sabo/go for flashlight saves and so on but not anymore just do the gens and get out no attempt at cool plays.

"cool" play just gets punished to hard nowadays.

  • @bomb1720 said:

i'm not sure if they will. from a survivors point of view it can be really funny when you manage to do infront of killer and then survivor escapes. i have managed to do it a few times but as you said time consuming. sabataging 3 hooks near exit to 95% is fun too, especially when they are running noed.

from a killers point of view (especially me as killer), it makes the game too hard.

i don't know what sabatage was like before or when it got changed, but i've been playing for years now.

i hope they will bring it back where somehow it doesn't hurt killer too much.

At release hooks wouldn't respawn anymore. Jake was absolutly meta, you don't do any gens, no no. First you sabotage ALL hooks and then you do gens. If the killer wasn't running iron grasp and agitation it was gg, no chance for the killer unless he manages to slug all 4 at once.

  • I personally see spine chill as a noob perk. Maybe the best perk for noobs/newbies together with sprint burst and selfcare. But on high level it's not meta.

  • @Mandy said:

If you're spamming a mori at someone with the intention to grief them then it's bannable - we'd need video evidence.

Quite simply, just don't mori spam and you won't have any issue.

So, then unhook spamming is bannable aswell?

  • I don't want to voice chat with randoms in order to have a fair match. The game should be balanced in a way that voice chat isn't required. The only way is by buffing solos.

  • I can see where you coming from, it would finally punish those who are anti mates and just want to get the ez escape at the end. However, there are some situations when you can't do anything besides hiding, for example a killer who slugs to find you.

  • @Mandy said:

Mori Spamming can be seen as griefing and can be bannable

At what point? I do that sometimes like 10 times in a row to pay back all the flashlight clicking, teabagging, taunting etc.

Sometimes the survivor DCs, other times I just mori them after the 10th time.

I would guess mori spamming the same survivor 100+ times is seen as grieving but just a handful of times is fine? A clearer definition would.be helpful.

  • As soon as I notice the killer wants to defend his totems on all costs I do that the whole match. I spam, then hide when he comes and repeat. It's not unusual to 4 gen the killer with this tactic till he just gives up, especially when another random team mate does the some on the other side with his 2nd hex totem.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/788680#Comment_788680

Yes but that can happen with out without any system. I think it's a bit of a reach to say they would just go afk and be ignored foe the game.

If someone wants out the game when dc punishments come then going afk and being ignored loses them even more time than playing, trying to do at least something and giving up when found or purposefully finding the killer to be hooked.

You can always alt tab to youtube, clean dishes or have another game open to play in the meanwhile. That's what I did as killer last year when the lobby time took 20+ minutes. I just took one whole day to derank by being afk. I was just watching youtube or played cod

  • I just want the ultra rare perk color perk. Idc about them costing more, I just want a beautiful UI and the pink/red colour is just awesome and gives me an old-school feeling. That's the reason why I use custom icons.

  • I couldn't care less honestly. If it's out its out, if not it's not. The event isn't going to change my whole life. And actually, it's playing into my hands that the event gets delayed, it gives me more time to play nurse and use up my insta heals till the latch drops.

  • @jeyers said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/98850/flashlights-need-a-buff

Flashlights wont get buffed, literally every item or addon that was good for survivor except keys have been nerfed.

You should use your keys now while they still do something useful and not inventory waste of space.

I can't even use keys lol, they are just collecting dust in my inventory. I only find them useful in a swf group

  • Have you messaged him first? Why tho? Seems like your goal was to trigger him and get any kind of salty reaction.

  • As survivor under 5% rage quitters ruining the match and 90% getting matchmaked with potatoes doing bullshit and ruining the match.

As killer around 1% when the second last DCs to give his buddy hatch. But well it's not really ruined, the rage quitter ruined his own points by getting 0.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/788650#Comment_788650

Yes but that all wastes time along with a suiciding solution and awards points for the remaining ones making it less obnoxious over all.

The point is its not a punishment as I said it's a qol improvement for both sides as they can each still get the points and it allows survivor to punish the camping strat.

It doesnt fix it all but it would still be a lot better than how it is now for both sides and as it wastes more time than simply pressing a button.

If one survivor is afk the whole game and the killer decides to ignore him all time it's still a bad game. A very bad game. It's a 3v1 on 5 gens while it was designed for a 4v1 scenario.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/788595#Comment_788595

You never punish for an in game mechanic but you can rework it.

Right now you can try to kobe and then choose to not struggle and die.

    Couple of solutions.

Stage 1 you still get the same attempts at a kobe but it only removes 30s so doesn't take you to stage 2. When in stage 2 it auto struggles for 30s and then you can press a key/button to suicide.

Or kobe attempts don't waste anytime and you cannot suicide in stage 2 at all.

The reasoning is not only to stop suiciders but to allow the other to have saves.

To make more strats it could also only be different when more than 2 survivors are alive. They can still suicide on the hook to give a hatch for example.

It's not hard to make a system that could give others more time in a match to punish camping or make saves for points as it's not a punishment keeping someone in a game for a small amount of time they actively chose to play.

Well, the next step would be going afk. How you wanna punish that? Even if you find a solution to AFKing, people will just Starr running towards the killer everytime after unhook. You just simply can't punish those who want to go OUT OF THIS MATCH because they will always find a way out evading the ban.

  • @megdonalds said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/788117#Comment_788117

Fun fact: many other pvp games punish ragequitting and DCing by increased timeouts and it works very well and exactly as it should. That suiciding on hook argument is only a bad excuse, it's just part of the game design and people did it actually since day 1.

People already suicide on hook when they see its spirit. But hey, if you think this is just a bad excuse go ahead and keep pushing for punishments and just come back with a surprised pikachu face when everyone who DCed previously just suicides instead to evade a ban.

  • I'm currently (whole day) Only getting 140+ ping server lobbys as killer and also as survivor. Did they turn off EU servers? @Peanits @Patricia did you turn off EU servers? I'm trying for hours to get low ping lobbys but it doesn't work. I tried other games and always got into low ping lobbys so I'm pretty sure it's not on my end.

  • Almost every survivor runs self care??? What? Are you stucked in 2016 mate? Selfcare is long gone from the meta loadout, since the healing nerf to be precise. I only see it once every 10 matches and usually only used by noobs.

1 … 7 8 9 10 11 … 29
