@Kalec84 I know how you feel. I lost my legacy back in 2017 and every year since then, I tried to contact the devs at least once every year to no avail. While I did get bloodpoints back, I never saw my legacy again. By the time Summer 2020 comes by, it will be 3 years that I have lost my legacy. The only thing I think we can do is just hope we get our legacy back someday.

I feel really bad for you. I think if I would have lost legacy skins I would be extreeemely pissed.

  • @Mr_K said:

    I feel for you.

This has been the longest running "We are looking into it" thing BHVR has pulled.

I'm pretty convinced that this "we are looking into it" is just said, it's been 3 years. If they couldn't do up till now then they will never

Sorry but I disagree, I have none of the items, no legacy no other event stuff.

People earned it and it is okay that way. Why they are giving away for nothing is kinda strange. I would be pissed as well tbh. I mean idk, maybe back then made a decision to grind for those items or whatever instead of doing something they wouldve prefered.

I think generalizing about a whole group of people because they have an opinion or issue is bigot to say the least.

Dude you compleeeetely missed the topic. I was nowhere talking about event cosmetics. I'm talking about these exclusives which were given away for free from bhvr and then sold by 3rd parties. Pls, read the complete post carefully before responding

Bhvr doesn't really host tournaments themselves, they only give codes for the tournament hosts

Doesn't change the fact that these codes were for free.

  • As far as I know NOONE got his legacy back. I heard that some did but I was never able to confirm it by myself. Your evidence is probably the best someone can provide, but I fear you will still not get it back. I feel sorry for you and everyone who lost them beautiful skins

  • Complaining about bugs is alright imo, devs need to understand that bugs are really pissing us off. I'm more suprised about the winning from some people about the free cosmetics. Some people need slaps.

WLADO93's 2nd DBD Tournament, Jurinko's 4v1 Tournament, The Entity's Curse, many Rite of Ignitions, worked so hard for them and now everybody is gonna have them :)

Soooo, all of them were custom tournaments from "random" people of the community? Sorry to say, but you earned nothing. These weren't official tournaments from bhvr. These codes were free in the first place.

  • @yoyoyo said:

And people that have won tournaments with exclusive prizes and now every casual is gonna have them. Spent 4 weeks to play with my team in a tournament against 20+ teams, won and each of us got PAX codes and apparently that will mean nothing rn, cool. Literally the people that like the change are casuals that had no chance of getting good at the game and getting the exclusives themselves.

    What tournament?

  • @tea said:

What I don't understand is the devs' logic behind having no more exclusives in the game when there are still a good handful of cosmetics that are unobtainable/exclusive after the change. Plus, any cosmetic in the current rift will become exclusive once it closes and the next opens.

    Double standard, much?

As far as I know every cosmetic from the rift pass becomes available in the shop after some time.

  • @derperson said:

A lot of people enjoy having a valuable item for being a supporter of the game at that time, which is usually what exclusives are for. Exclusives generate a lot of value for people who take a risk and do things to earn them. Sure, some people may have bought them, but that's not everyone. I'm sure it's frustrating because giving everyone free exclusives decreases their value; it reduces a player's uniqueness. A lot of us strive for uniqueness in games.

Ultimately, though, BHVR is doing the right thing, because as long as those codes still exist, there will be scammers ripping people off. By giving away these items they're definitely going to stop those scams.

"supporter"? The money went straight into the resellers pockets. Bhvr had nothing from that since it was giving out for free in the first place.

Im sorry but it really hasn't gotten worse they've made it much better than it used to be and using one person is not a good example since they could just have a bad PC. Ive never had any

It's not just one person, many in my friend list have this issue. And it happens right after the update, previously no lags no freezing and 60 fps most of the time.

  • @marvelmovie said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/837802#Comment_837802

Yes yes I did, obviously if this was happening, wouldn't their be some type of trace left behind a coding that could show that they had those skin's and why didn't I lose mine. It just sounds like one of those thing's people complained and complained about until the dev's we're like ok we could do this. But anyway the point being people who had a chance to get these exclusives worked their asses off for them it just wasn't opportunity the game's we're so bad it was actually hard work for people you were either being gen camped or face camped trying to get these skin's and don't let me get started on killer games they saboed hooks, body block consistantly or ran I mean made sure they wasn't in an area for an event hook. They should let people appreciate all that torture we went through plus three year's is dedication and I should be able to show that without feeling guilty.

Talking to you seems pointless. Talk to the devs for more details.

  • @Boss said:

It'd be nice to get like 1k Auric Cells per exclusive cosmetic piece or smthn.

But why? Bhvr gave them out for free, why would they give you money just because you got them, uhm, for free earlier? Doesn't make sense to me honestly.

  • @Rydog said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/837289#Comment_837289

They aren't worth anything, beyond what you attach to them.

In terms of expensiveness, if you're talking about what some of these things go for on eBay, it's out of control, and I absolutely don't think it's out of line for Behaviour to want to tamp down on that. At best, the secondhand market is preying on extremely artificial rarity, and at worst, people are getting scammed in ways that Behaviour can't control. If you're looking at this from a dollars-and-cents perspective, I think you are on the wrong side of it, because I think it is absolutely in Behaviour's interests to put a stop to it.

It is a win win. The hundreds of dollars saved from a player spending into them exclusive skins from a random guy can potentially be used in the in dbd store or battlepass. It's really a step which benefits both sides.

I just stated that it's my badge of honor showing how long I've been playing this game, I don't flex or show it of it's not my fault that people are jealous and I believe it's a lie and people are just trying to manipulate to get what they want if it happens tho by some odd factor oh well

What? Did you just accuse hundreds of players just lying that they lost their exclusive skins? Jeez.

  • @HamdaN said:

again we asked for consistent counterplay not a straight up nerf. (although the addons needed it) all they did was change the iceing and not the cake itself. the core issues are still the same and everyones gonna be complaining about the same thing

Yeah this my understanding. I can actually really picture it how survivors continue disconnecting or giving up on 1st hook. At least the most broken addon prayer beads got changed, it was really the number 1 reason of most rage quits.

  • @marvelmovie said:

Man what's the point of this you guys are changing everything about this game I love and it's drawing me further away we earned those exclusives and now there just going to be available, people who've been around since the beginning have these as badges of honor to show our support. They are medals to show other's the time we've been here since the beginning, if you want fine I give up horse head. I messed up and pre order wrong but my DbD skins are a vaule to me, I don't think this is a good move for the core players now you want be able to tell who's been around, and besides behavior you know as well as I do they'll wear them for a couple of weeks and change to something else or want more. Let's the legacy's be legacy's and the hounds be hound's it's not our fault you wasn't here for those event's.

Yes, we earned them. But it's a QoL change for us. Everyone is at risk to lose his exclusive event cosmetics, it happened to me, it happened to others and it will possibly happen to you aswell. Do you want to take the risk to lose them and never get them back instead of making it available for everyone?

You would only take the risk if your need for showing off and flexing exclusive skins is higher than your enjoyment wearing them skins because of how they look.

Or maybe they dont know. Maybe they hate versing her because they faced her too much, because other Killers arent as good as her leading to little variety.

Or they missed their nap time and need a diaper change.

Or just parroting at its finest.

I asked and discussed with many friends I play with which killer they hate and why. The response was 95% the same: spirit cuz guessing game aka coin flipping. And this is also what I see in the forums. People don't hate spirit because she's to string, many complain about her core design.

  • 1) Nurse is a deadcase. Since the nerf I versed 2 handful of nurses. NONE of them was able to kill more than 1 survivor. It usually ended with gates open and last survivor facecamped. Nurse is to weak, there are no "godlike" players anymore

    2) spirit is easy to master, you don't have to be pro player to slaughter groups.

  • @Pennosuke said:

    Let's think about it...

    • Spirit no longer has collision while using power
    • which means she no longer get free hit from bumping survivors while using power
    • which means survivors can scracth mark juke which can help to increased chance to make Spirit guess wrong position and no longer need to worry about accidently bumping Spirit while running anymore
    • which means survivors have more option to avoid from Spirit mindgame situation while her power is still strong.

These changes make both side can really play mindgame now. Spirit still can track the injured sound but survivors also has scracth mark juke as a last option to survive if they can't find pallets or windows around there.

I really love this chance tbh.

I think you don't know why survivors hate versing sprit

The thing about optimization is that people rarely notice when things are running smoothly; they only remember the times when things aren't running smoothly.

  • @SpacingLlamas said:

They mentioned it sometime around when they first announced they would do some optimisation, which almost was a year ago. I'm not saying I know 100% for sure but it definitely wasnt no large amount of people specifically doing optimisation

And they could have more people doing it I don't know for sure obviously

I remember the same, 4-ish people in a team just for optimisation

  • @kate_best_girl said:

Lemme just say, as someone who plays on ALL systems except switch, its gotten better you just dont notice. Things like Nurse going to 15 FPS when blinking happens so little if at all anymore, Clown can throw bottles without extreme lag at first now, doctor no longer lags as well. The changes are big yet minor and also subtle.

You just don't notice? It got noticeably worse lol, this is how many are experiencing dbd atm: https://youtu.be/a7xDlakPTcg

Actually the last hotfix fixed most of the performance issues the Rift patch caused. Menus and bloodwebs aren't 3 frames per second anymore. The issues I have with Freddy Vision in the Dreamworld also improved. Performance in general is a lot better since the hotfix.

Idk what game you play but for me it got even worse.

For the first time I'm really considering to use spine chill. I haven't used it since 2016 but the frequency of prayer beads might make it very very worth picking now

I did read the entire comment but what you're suggesting is irrelevant because you don't get to decide how the compensation works if it were to happen, so you don't get to ignore the complications of deciding or working out which part each player had just because YOU think they should get all of it back.

Secondly, how do you know they weren't? Theres no way to tell, so we should just give everyone the benefit of the doubt because justarandy says so? lol

Sorry but I can't see any logic in your comment.

Proves nothing, achievements have been abusable since the dawn of time, just because someone has the achievement before that time doesn't prove they unlocked it, it also doesn't prove which character they had it on.

Your last part is irrelevant since I already said how I would workaround this. Are you even reading whole comments or just the first words?

How do you know achievements were abused?

Although spending £600 on an in-game item isn't one of my proudest moments, I still justify it. I wanted it, and so i spent my own money on it. I am allowed to? It took some time to convince me f buying of course, I'm not COMPLETELY insane.. but I don't think there was anything wrong with spending a substantial amount of money on something that would bring me joy, especially when I would never have thought that it would be taken away from me. I'd also like to reiterate- when did I say that I spent £600 on the game rather than 'on an exclusive code'. Don't pick unnecessary arguments when you don't need to.

Whatever reasons you developed in your head to justify it: from a reasonable, logical and rational POV there is NO justification to spend 600 bucks in cosmetic. It's a luxury for rich people at best. Are you rich? No? Then get some help because I fear you can't control money. Or are you rich? If yes then it doesn't hurt you anyway right?

  • @Seanzu said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/835613#Comment_835613

They aren't "identifying" the lost event cosmetics, though, they're flat out giving it to everyone.

I assume the difficulty with legacy is if you had it, there would be a flag set on your account, would probably look like

    "Legacy_Head_Meg ✓"

The issue lies in a save issue that was once present in steam that would clear the flag, and without any way of telling who actually had the flag enabled before the save issue anyone who wanted to would be able to request it, it sucks but it is what it is.

There is a way to tell if you had them: Achievements. Tho, you couldn't tell what character really had prestiged, but imo everyone who lost his legacy and waited for so long should get them on all characters as compensation. For example, if you had legacy 3 on all survivors and lost progress, you would get legacy on all survivors and killers.

  • @Peanits said:

    There's two main reasons:

    1. Loss of progress. There is an issue where early event cosmetics would sometimes disappear due to an error. We would have to manually re-apply them to each person one by one, which can take quite a while. Often times we would get a surge of those tickets and it would make a huge backlog of tickets, slowing down support across the board.
    2. There's no way to get them. Lately, we've started to make sure that things are available to everyone. The Hallowed Blight and Withering Blight events are a good example of this; you play, you earn event currency, you trade that currency in for cosmetics. Missed the event but really want a particular outfit? You can grab it from the store. This way you can earn it for free, but you're not totally out of luck if you miss the event.

The simple version is because we want a clean slate. We want to make sure that everyone has the same opportunity to earn them going forward.

As for legacy, we're not looking to re-release that because we have promised in the past that it wouldn't be returning. We don't want to go back on that promise if at all possible.

I knew the loss of progress was part of the decision. Honestly it was the right decision, no scamming anymore, consoles get some love, ACM team (or whoever is working to do the tickets) get less floated with that stuff etc. I only see a win-win here, I'm really looking forward to get my lost hound mask back :)

  • Imagine cosmetics are more important than the actual game. Are you a shopping Queen irl? I wouldn't be suprised honestly.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

imagine complaining about getting free cosmetics this community is definitely a lost cause...

Idk? Just confirms that this Community complains about every stupid thing.

  • @Squoose said:

I spent £600 on a golden feng code, which was a big decision but I was okay with it and that it was my responsibility. However, I did pay £600 for this exclusive, and many people have spent money on these because of their exclusive ranking in the game. This feels like a kick to the face and thrusts a large chunk of their core consumers and loyal fanbase to the side. I have never had an issue with bhvr, through bug and unwarranted deaths during gameplay. I love this game, but this decision on their end is absolutely devastating and no compensation for such a drastic decision would be a final blow. They haven't done it yet, they can still make it right. Anyone who is okay with this has their reasoning or are just super happy about getting a FREE exclusive cosmetic which I would also be. But if the devs have wanted to do this, then they shouldn't have waited until after three years have passed, plentiful time for many members to lose money, it's just completely immoral.

You already kicked your own face by even making the decision spending 600 bucks for a virtual ingame cosmetic which is just a colour variation of an already existing base skin. Take this as a wakeup, you have some serious consuming issues.

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

I have no sympathy for anyone who spent a shitload of money just for a cosmetic code

Me neither cuz they have some serious consuming problems or simply are so rich that it doesn't matter anyway.

I really hope you realize how pissed people are about this... Its a reason its called exclusive, its a reason that its Ultra rare. People didnt ask for this, are you just trying to piss of the community, because if it is, then you've done a pretty good job... Why dont you just catch the person who creates the codes and gives them to resellers? and why is not the hype nea skin coming, thats the most used skin to scam with. If you stop making codes, people cant sell them

It's people's own fault to buy free given codes for so much money. They should have considered that free given codes might come back for free again.

  • @Bravo0413 said:

Just dont support them anymore... if there is no reward feeling to be had in this game why is there reason to continue to support it....

bhvr seems to not understand that players enjoy earning a reward that other players may not earn or were not here for.

With no goal (exclusives) there is no actual reward... everyone else will have what I have and that's boring AF. Where is the unique feeling?

I personally can't take people serious who only value stuff high if noone else has it. If something is good it's good. No matter who many people have it. That's just how I see it.

  • @Squoose said:

I cannot believe anyone is actually happy with this decision.. Of course there's going to be more people WANTING this rather than the contrary because who doesn't want free exclusives?? BUT THAT'S WHAT THEY ARE! E X C L U S I V E S, not only are golden feng, brazil claud etc becoming free, even the event exclusives? Donkey Jacket, Huntress wolf mask. This just feels like a terrible and I cannot believe anyone thought this was smart. If this is happening, then Legacy should be free also. YOUR LOYAL AND CORE CONSUMERS GRINDED FOR THE REWARDS AND THIS IS A KICK IN THE FACE. Absolutely disgraceful.

I lost my event exclusives due to a bug. I don't care if anyone else get it aswell in exchange to get my deserved skins back. All I care about is having them back and usable. I really couldn't care less about others having them aswell, I don't value a skin by rarity but about how I like them

It required you to make a purchase through the merch store, so there's a monetary value attached. It wouldn't be right to make that free.

Oh I didn't know you can get it from there. Maybe the bloodletting shirt should be shown in the ingame store greyed out with this information to prevent people getting scammed.

You aren't at all getting what I'm saying. Legacy outfits weren't from an event, these players bought the game DURING BETA... and played when prestiging was more difficult, it wasn't from an event...

Legacy is not tied to buying dbd in the beta. The only requirement was prestiging before 24.11.2016 00:00 Canadian time zone.

You basically could see that as an event. Just a very long event with a trade off.

Honestly I feel the same about that, but the big thing I found was that since he can't move the camera or himself at all, it makes it very easily dodged. Not even dodged really, but you will land on them and your arms go through their actual model and deal no damage because they are not directly in front of you.

I think locking the camera until the last phase of the attack is fine, but in the end of the attack you should be allowed to move/look/aim the last part of the attack in like a 45 degree angle or something, that gives them plenty of dodge room and time, but doesn't lock you up and punish you for being like 3 inches to the left or right as hard.

It shouldn't be like Billy honestly, after ending your chainsaw hit you have full control and check all your surrounding
