Loss of progress is a huge issue but yeah I don't believe there's any reason to gatekeep cosmetics to a certain platform and player base. I think the solution would be to just gift all legacy clothing to players whom P100 the classic characters. Aka Dwight-Nea earns all legacy at once and same with Trapper-Nurse. Nobody currently considers the cosmetics a feat of skill or proof of commitment. They have almost universally been assumed to be hacked in leading to lobby dodges and distrust. Obviously at the time nobody could've predicted the current state of DbD, let alone 8 years of success, but making earnable cosmetics should be an option.

Yes, it should be an option, hence my contribution

  • Not only on console. Platform Steam, PC too. Also the same error on Archieves

  • Something has already been reported in the forum under the heading “Error”. I hope the developers will take another look at it.

    Dear BHVR Interactive Devs,

PC Platform by far. Unsure about consoles.

After the 8.1.1 update, Stridor's increases are supposed to be additive, which implies that when survivors equip Iron Will, there should be still 50% of normal noise made by survivors. I said this 'implies' because the 'additive to multiplicative' change was made a long time ago to insure that Stridor does not make survivors grunt when they have Iron Will; since now it's reverted back to additive, I assume that it works in the way it used to be. However, in the games I have played today, on a Springwood Map and a custom game, survivors made 0 noise when they have Iron Will and I had Stridor.

Please check this and I would love to hear your feedback.

I have the same problem. Stridor does not work. I dont know why….. In any case, nothing happens if the survivors are equipped with Iron Will or OTR. That shouldn't really be the case on the Spirit.

I tested it on diffrent maps, vs diffrent survivors. Plattform PC Steam

When the Killer sacrifices one person the next gen counts as 2. If 2 are sacrificed before a gen gets done 3 in total are completed. Its unavoidable and hope the devs can fix it soon enough.

absolutely against it. It would lead to murderers who play fair being punished

I can respect this sentiment. You don’t have to apologize just because some people disagree with you. Your feelings and opinions on the game are just as valid as any of ours.

This is the best thing I've read in a long time. Thank you so much for this <3

  • The thing is. If the developers don't change WoO, it will stay in first place forever, and that can't be in anyone's interest.

Exactly what I been saying for a very very long time. As a killer the vast majority of my matches I go against loopers that want a chase and when things go tits up and they all die, they rant about how bad I am at the game for tunneling, slugging, camping, using boring builds such as double iri Myers or using noed. They do also complain at their own team mates for not doing gens quick enough or for hiding. It's crazy how many people try to dictate to others how to play the game, what tactics are acceptable and what's not.

I offer friendly advice to people that I beat by suggesting they don't loop because I play anti loop killers and tombstone Myers. Looping builds my power up on Myers so not a good idea to try it. But that's just my advice, they are free to loop if they wish just as I'm free to tunnel and camp or whatever works and your free to do gens, unhook or use whatever perks you want. I say do what works. That's what I do

absolutely right. This is how it works thumbs up

  • @alpha5 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3765229#Comment_3765229

Are you trying to convince us or yourself? Have you considered improving your looping?

Play lone wolf all you want. Doesn't change the fact that some games you lose for the entire team because you refuse to adapt. It seems to me you are one of those guys who unhook, maybe even superfast, and then just leave the guy to die taking no hits whatsover against a killer who already showed he will tunnel relentlessly.

I'm just trying to make it clear that stealth is very strong and many survivors don't even try to use it because many think that playing with the killer is the most successful. But it's not. No, it's not.
Are you a good looper? If so, then congratulations.

You want attention? Then you'll probably get attention. But that's not me. I have other strengths for that. I make gens, I help my comrades, I heal them. Guess what, I even know how to play skillfully to replenish my distortion charges.

The difference is simply that I survive, and that's all I care about. Call me a rat or whatever, I don't care. I know this style of play is very successful and I know most killers don't like playing against opponents like this, but that's not my problem.

No, it's not always about action, but about survival.

If I get caught and die, I'm out of luck. But I can't buy anything if I give everything for the team and get killed myself.

Oh, maybe a thank you for the help in the endgame chat. No, sorry, I can do without that

Sometimes it's good to be an egoist and If you die, you lose. It doesn't matter how well you played.

    Think about it

People like you are one of the main reasons why soloq sucks so hard. One of the main strengths of swfs is that the players actually play like a team and support each other.

Nobody is talking about SWF here. If you had read my posts, you would know that I am traveling alone. I am certainly not the reason why Soloq is bad. 🙄

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/421188/a-prime-example-and-the-difference-between-2016-and-2024

    Need a bit more details:

    How many survivors escaped?

Did only you survive? If yes, escaped through the gate or hatch?

I survived alone (escape via Exitgate). After there were only two of us left, the other one got caught because he thought he was trolling the killer. (By the way, this is the one who said I had no right to speak in the endgame)

Crazy or ? I'm not upset about these reactions in the endgame chat. I was just surprised. There were no such discussions back then. Today, everyone thinks you have to play with the killer and if you don't, you get judged for it.

  • I'm traveling alone (the best exp you can have). Everyone for himself and safety first.

Being selfish is sometimes a very good thing. If my teammates get caught, is that my problem? No, I don't think so. If I get caught and have a disadvantage, then I'm out of luck.

I'm not a good looper and to compensate for that weakness I play my own build. As I wrote before, I repair gens and if someone is hooked, I help and heal too. That's pretty much it. Other than that, I focus on surviving and finishing.

I am under no obligation to participate in a chase. Not for anyone (unless I do a challenge in the rifts, but then I play other builds)and that hookstages are supposed to be like palette revives is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. It's not always about trading.

Whether you like it or not but that's the way it works if you play solo

    Wreck everyone and Leave

  • knight feels absl. horrible….no fun. I stop playing him. Its a desaster

Gens get completed randomly, exit gates turning on even with 3 gens still remaining, gens get completed yet their sound are the same as one with progress instead, and so on.

Killer is almost unplayable as it’s impossible to tell if it’s a hacker or a bug. Scratch marks continue to be bugged for months now.

I would say I'm disappointed, but I'm genuinely surprised. I didn’t think it was possible to break the game this much. This has never happened before.

Bugs can always happen, but even I wouldn't have expected such serious errors. Something like this should never happen

  • @TiredDBDenjoyer said:

Just had this happen during two Singularity games back to back, one on Nostromo and the other on Dead Dawg. The attached video is the Nostromo game where I was down to 3 generators, a Survivor reparied a generator and it counted as two instead of one, all 4 generators were still on the map but they only needed to repair one more as you'll see in the video. The Dead Dawg game was the same, I was down to 2 generators and a Survivor repaired a generator and it instantly counted as two and the exit gates immediately became powered. The Dead Dawg Survivors confirmed to me that no one else was even remotely close to finishing their gen when it was repaired. I was using Languid Touch, Rapid Brutality, Spies From The Shadows, and Surge with Foreign Plant Fibres and Kid's Ball Glove. The Lara Croft in the attached video was using Dramaturgy, Any Means Necessary, Resilience, and Windows of Opportunity.

yes happend on me too. Steam PC. I was repairing and finishiung a gen and than instantly another gen popped on from 0-100. This is absl. Gamebreaking

  • its must be a bug…..i was repair a gen and another one instant pop on from 0-100

  • and that's why I say that those who play fair and get a lot of hookz under the current conditions are better than those who only get kills

  • @Nazzzak said:

"If the developers want killers to focus more on chases, why are more and more elements being added to the game that affect the speed of generators?"

Have they outright said that, though? That they want killers to focus on chase over gens? If they're releasing more perks to help in chase then perhaps it's more to do with them wanting to provide more options than anything else. Particularly to those who feel they are weakest in chase and have little issue with gen pressure.

You're not wrong, but how is that supposed to work if the generators are activated too quickly?

I want lots of chases and, if possible, lots of hookz, but at the same time I want to be fair.

If you play fair, you get punished. That's how it is with DBD at the moment.

If you play unfairly (tunnel, camp, etc.) and get a lot of kills, you get rewarded....

    That's terrible

that’s not hard to deal with. Those gen regressions got nerfed LOL. I rather that than permanent aura reading with an additive effect of not knowing where the killers coming.

Ever heard of counterattacks? Distortion and co are not the only things....

  • @Legendary_deedee said:

This needs a nerf it’s way too easy to use and it’s oppressive on certain killers and it also has no counterplay. Even if you pick up the item the aura is still revealed if they’re using Lethal Pursuer. Since, y’all changed Superior Anatomy to not work with lethal pursuer why is weave of attunment working when it has almost the same function just activated differently. That needs to be changed and I think the perk needs a complete rework because I shouldn’t be able to drop a item at will and get revealed by the perk nor should I get oblivious when I pick my item up. So it’s either the oblivious status effect has to go and lethal purser shouldn’t extend the aura or this perk needs a complete rework.

do you prefer Pop, Painress and Co?, no problem

Just slapping a trap with mint rag applied for added measure just gives immense rage . It's probably the only build I can see getting this combo nerfed. So I guess people can be the judge. Those who have tried this how does it feel? Personally I don't like hag that much but it might be worth a shot.

Seriously, this whole debate about a perk combo like this, is just ridiculous. A lot of Survivors get upset over every little thing. Anyway, they'll have to settle for POP Painress and co again..... this will never end and is rly annoying.

    Easily >= 10 years old.

Made me wonder how much of the playerbase is similar.

not only that.... I could tell you even more stories

For me, it is simply important that I am heard. I'm holding on to that. DBD thrives on all these effects. Far too many of them have been taken out of play

First of all, I want to be completely honest: I think spies is the best info perk by a mile. It's image is mostly tainted by older bad map releases that used to lack crows in the first place, but that mas LONG ago. Now every map has crows one way or another, and with distortion essentially removing aura reading from the table, spies is top tier at giving you info that no other info perk can give you.

The thing that makes spies so good is the crows spawnpoints. The crows ALWAYS spawn on common hidding spots, making spies a stealth killer altogether. The only reason it isn't ran often is because of people believing RNG affects the perk, which used to, but not anymore.

I cautiously doubt whether the perk will really be meta. Apart from that, I completely agree with you

It looks 'possible' i guess, but the problem i see with this build is the amount of setup you need to begin repairing a single gen. Starts the game and...

You waste time looking for the basement

You waste 60sec doing the invocation

You waste time searching for a gen that has at least one other teammate.

Roll the dice and waste 15 sec doing bard perk.

And then, you fiiinally can start repairing the first gen. And this is considering an ideal match where nothing goes wrong.

you waste, you waste, you waste…..ok

seriously. Everyone who plays a computer game is wasting their time. But that's another topic.

It's just a different way of playing. Something other than just the standard stuff

  • and don't forget them. There are still challenges and achievements that many players want to achieve. That requires certain perk setups and there are also players like me who play a meme build for fun.

Do you seriously think that it will change anything if I show you my loadout? Quite the opposite: many players will then come and say. He has no DS, DH or other metaperks at the start. I'm not going to play with him and dodge.

as I said before. Let's just have fun

  • No, because nobody knows which perks I play. It's like the secret MMR or the anonymous mode. I'm not going to let people spy on me on Steam or harass me after the game just because I didn't play the way they wanted me to. Like I said, there are players who take DBD way too seriously

  • @Peanits said:

Some of us have, and some still do! I myself used to do exactly what you're asking to see (killer w/ no slowdown).

I'll be frank, it's not the eye opening experience that you're hoping for, it's just a scapegoat. There are people on the team who play at that high level regularly, and there are people on the team who can't play at that level - just like everyone playing the game, we all have different skill levels. We make sure to include those higher skill devs in playtests internally in addition to our team wide playtests to help test content at different skill levels, and we work with an external group of consultants who are highly experienced to help bridge that gap as well.

Having streamed myself in the past, I can confidently say that not only will it likely not change your mind, but it is exhausting. No matter how well we could play on stream, someone would always have an excuse for why that match didn't count (e.g. those survivors weren't good enough, you got lucky with teammates, etc.). Meanwhile I'd end up with some people hate-watching, waiting for one bad match to pounce on and use it ammo. The goal posts were always shifting.

To be perfectly honest, it's not a point worth proving. If someone wants so badly to believe that everything they dislike can be blamed on a single developer's skill level, they likely aren't going to be convinced if they see someone play well anyway. To do so, there would already have to be a huge misunderstanding to think that content is balanced around that one developer's skill level with absolutely zero oversight. That is absolutely not the case.

If there's something that you dislike, by all means let us know, we're here to take feedback. Let us know what you don't like (or do like) and why. Constructive criticism is invaluable. But if you're just hoping to hate-watch someone and hope they fail (and I genuinely hope this isn't the case for you), there is no productive discussion that can come of that. It's just trying to pin blame.

That's exactly how I see it. People should just have fun. What's not to understand?

No one can convince me a No mither survivor goes afk for 1 minute to make the Gen goes back to pre 6.1.0 a "decent play".

Assume you're being chased with only 1 teammate on Gen

    • if you as a survivor have running skill so low that extra 3 health states can not buy 50 seconds of Gen, you should not use Invocation to begin with.
    • if you as a survivor have running skill so great that extra 3 health states can buy 3 minutes of Gen, why would you trade 3min of chase for 50sec of Gen?

and that's exactly the problem. Some players take the game too seriously. Just have fun....

As we all know, Franklin's is a mediocre perk that's typically only used to put survivors on tilt. It's just not that valuable. But every anniversary, item usage goes through the roof significantly enough that it's viable to consider running as this is the time that medkits will consistently have styptics and needles. That's the generous assessment of the perk. At any rate, the Franklins gang always come round this time of year.

This year though, we're most likely going to see a surge in Weave Attunement in conjunction with Franklins and people are going to be upset just by having Franklins exist in their lobbies.

Do you folks think that people running this 2 perk combo for the anniversary is going to be what gets Weave Attunement nerfed? I hate to be pessimistic but I personally think Weave+Franklins is going to be a hot topic come Anniversary.

It's not even so much as the Weave value I'm concerned about but rather the emotional response that Franklins evokes.

I don't think "Franklin's + Weave attunement" is problematic at all. On the contrary, playing with Aurareading can be interesting and fun. There will always be people who get upset about every little thing. You can't change that, because you can't please everyone.
