Sometimes i'm playing killer and sometimes I'm playing survivor. There are toxic survivor and toxic killer.

Mostly I wouldn't have time to tunnel anyone, because i'm already in another chase to hook the next one.

I was preferring to endgame camping and tunnelling. I find it funny that you don't make a comment on "gen rushing is a valid strategy for survivor"

That's how I know you are a survivor main. If you want to prove me wrong then play nothing but killer for a whole month.

I don't like this quote "camping and tunneling are valid strategies for killers". It feels like this is used to excuse the bad camping and tunneling.

Of course you don't like it, it's because you're a survivor main.

I think it's funny that survivor mains who wants killers to play certain ways but doesn't even bother on playing killer themselves or says nothing when they camp or tunnel.

Just like gen rushing is a valid strategy for survivor.

  • Camping and tunnelling are valid strategies for killers.

I think it's funny that you don't take the killers pov in this argument. Again you're probably a very low rank killer.

Gens are popping insanely fast which causes killers to camp and tunnel.

This strategy is for ensuring a KILL as it is the killer's OBJECTIVE.

  • It works good with deadlock and pop in my opinion

  • There are 16 survivors (each survivor with 4 used perks) perks against a killer in each match.

But most of the time it's DS,DH,UB,BT.

  • Yeah, here's an example on what they say.

    Survivor: "You camper"

Me: I only camp at endgame.

Survivor: "You have to camp to get a kill sad."

Me: What's my objective? It's to kill the survivor, if it's endgame I'm going to camp to ensure a kill.

They also cry if I play as a certain killer or perk builds.

  • Crazy idea, once the hex is cleansed or replaced by a boon the killer can move the hex onto a different totem by cursing it.

  • @coolmacc said:

Just had a game where a 4 escape turned into a 3k because we missed one totem how is this not a crutch perk for easy kills. Killers have had this broken perk for far to long and are outraged and entitled when survivors get good perks. Devs we demand a nerf or survivor queues are going to keep getting longer. Losing a game last minute because of a cheap perk isn’t fun

    Two things

Firstly killers are leaving that's why que times are so long, also console players are turning off their cross play so they don't have to deal with hackers which would cause even longer que times.

Secondly about noed, why do you cry about it? You don't do the bone which is the survivors 2nd objective and you have many perk that literally track totems. Oh wait I know why you don't use a tracking totem perks you don't want to lose your 2nd chance perk. New flash noed is the killer's 2nd chance perk. Killers have a right to play with 2nd chance perks as well.

But then we have the issue of people wanting to try perk combos but not being able to, or trying add one for the first time and not being able to.

Either way, this sounds like in theory it'd be great, but in practice it'd be flawed.

So you're telling me that the MMR is perfect? Well it's not. If it was then I wouldn't make this post, I have been playing for 5 years almost

  • @ilovedbd123 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2658943#Comment_2658943

But then who would choose to play on the "ranked" mode. Even high ranked players would play casual, and we'd have the same issue we had before.

Well I think in casual mode perks and add-on will be turned off.

  • @kaeru said:

Now with MMR it punish you for being creative with builds and I'm basically forced to play with the same meta builds and force to use max MMR killers. It's honestly boring after awhile.

I don't get it. What do you get for being High MMR gamer? There is no reward, so why you consider not being high MMR as punishment? You don't get less BP on your own skill niche. You don't get more BP or Shards or Cosmetics for High MMR. You don't even know what you MMR number is. Why everyone aiming at High MMR and then shitting about how much they hate it?

You are not forced to play sweaty. You can play with any build you want and win. Not every game you win but why would you expect 100% winrate? You didn't win every game before MMR, so why should it change suddenly?

Well funny thing is you don't lose MMR it keeps going. And every game is a literal sweat fest as survivors run the same build over and over and over, if there was a casual mode then things would be different.

Let's say you just got a killer and you decided to play instead of low MMR you get high MMR if you're an old player. You're force to play sweaty with meta builds with high MMR and you'll would want to play with killers you're good with.

As I see it, it punishes creativity towards builds and create a sweatier environment for all. You see MMR increase for kills and survive. Also my friend went up against the same killer 4 times in a roll. So yeah MMR sucks

    Shrug.

If VHS attracts you, then by all means go and enjoy it. Don't play games that you aren't having fun with.

I'm probably going to play it too. And I wonder what they are going to do to ensure fairer matches.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2658661#Comment_2658661

I don't think this game has a terrible rep, BM in-game community aside. It's only getting more popular - numbers are up from 35k to 50k on Steam alone, that's an enormous gain. I predict that we'll hit 60k by this time next year.

I also don't think that giving high MMR players the ability to dookie on intermediate/lower MMR players at-will is something that's sustainable either.

I guess I'm just...puzzled by the MMR complaints. Some of them are perfectly accurate - new killers should have a fresh MMR. Survivor SBMM needs to be more nuanced than 'died' or 'escaped'. The game desperately needs more people to play killer.

However a lot of them really do seem to amount to 'I miss playing against much less skilled opponents' - and to me, that's not a positive thing.

You honestly made some fair points I won't lie.

  • @SunsetSherbet said:

The devs believe they can keep the game alive by just chasing new players forever and not caring at all about current players or retaining them. This can work for a finite time. Eventually you run out of people willing to come to a 5+ year old game with a terrible rep.

    See you get it

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2658649#Comment_2658649

    Yes.

The fact that the MMR of a killer you haven't played for 3 weeks gets pegged to the MMR of your highest killer is patently absurd. That needs to change.

Regarding chill games - you'll unfortunately have to 'shed' some MMR to do it. Which means you'll have to lose. Maybe get some of the BP 'nerf me' addons and run BBQ, Distressing etc. so that you'll get something out of the equation.

Unfortunately, a lot of high MMR players are going to have tougher games now because they are being put up against more even opponents, which at the high-end of things means that the meta is somewhat set in stone. That said, this does mean that their former opponents who are much lower MMR have a much fairer time of it.

It's just easier to quit this game and move to a better game, like VHS as those devs actually listens to all the base instead of one side of the game.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/296416/my-thoughts-of-the-current-dbd

    A few things:

    • If you want to play with more chill builds, do so. You'll lose some games, but so what? Eventually you'll settle at an MMR where you can play more chill. That's exactly what I've done and I'm having a lot of fun.
    • Yes, killers are too stressful to play for a lot of people at times. It's a frustrating role because you don't dictate the pace of the game, and are constantly under pressure. This comes down to maps and the survivor base just getting too sophisticated not to play loops well or flee effectively. About half the killer roster needs a serious buff/rework.
    • I also feel the need to rant sometimes. This game is a snowbally affair, and sometimes you'll get several stompy games in a row. It...sucks. But eventually it'll even out and you'll get the odd winning streak that makes you feel like a monster.
    • I really hope the Artist doesn't get nerfed. What we need to do is raise weaker killers up so every high MMR game isn't the same handful of killers.
    • Survivor queues are long now, but a big part of that (I think) is that MMR and killers actually having match-making protections now (they didn't for a long time) means that it won't just throw a 7000 hour nightmare up against a bunch of 40 hour Megs, and won't throw a stacked SWF against me.

Here's the thing. MMR keeps moving forward and killers you hardly play with is at the same level as the killer you play the most with. It's literally impossible for chill games anymore. Look when ever I play killer the wait is instant. When I play survivor it take 10 to 17 minutes to find a match with and without swf.

  • @C3Tooth said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2657007#Comment_2657007

I feel like when people wants to buff a Killer, they want to put half addons into basekit...

Not all the time. Sometimes people have good ideas like buff legion or buff trickster just to name a few

  • You just literally name the addons he has right now

Makeshift wrap an common add-on that allows the trapper to walk into his trap without being stun. But you have to reset it.

Honing stone a very rare add-on that puts a survivor in the dying state.

Wax brick uncommon add-on increase attempt to escape by 33%. Fastening tools rare add-on increase the speed to set trap by 50% and increase the attempt to escape by 25%

Trapper gloves common add-on to increase setting traps by 30%

  • Devs are and will always be survivor sided. The serum is completely useless until next Halloween for killers and survivors get to use it all year around

  • Maybe you were to close to the hook when the survivor got the unhook or it was on cool down.

Calm spirit makes sure you don't scream and it could be another survivor who got the save.

Maybe the perk is bugged, game can get buggy sometimes.

  • I play solo survivor all the time, most of the time I bring in small game or any other totem tracking perk. Look I get the totems out of the way first.

If I forget to do totems no big deal. If noed appears, then it's on me and my teammates for not doing the bones.

I honestly play more killer and I honestly agree that noed is a killer 2nd chance perk. As it is a high risk and high reward perk. I believe it shouldn't be changed

  • Look playing killer is stressful, most killers are leaving the game. I don't blame them as I am a killer main myself and honestly I'm sick of the sweat feast games, spirit nerf was needed true. Wraith's and deathslinger's nerf wasn't needed. Look survivors cry when a killer does good and they continue to cry to the devs until they nerf most of the killers.

Nerf your favorite killer to a state when you don't enjoy them anymore would cause you to leave the game as well, which causes longer wait times.

Once all the killers are gone the game will be dead. True some will return for new chapters but with every new chapter more the game breaks

Sorry I didn't mean to rant

  • It's a valid strategies, if you play killer at really high MMR you'll understand why they do it. Besides how fast gens go killers have little choice but to as it is their objective to kill the survivor.

True you could run perks like DS, DH, unbreakable and BT, to help with a camping killer but you honestly have no say on how your opponent should plays.

Killer is the most stressful to play well besides solo q survivor. But that's besides the point I'm trying to make.

  • There is a simple perk to counter from being blinded and it's light born. I use light born whenever I see 2 or more flashlights. Look with blast mine and flash grenade light born helps.

If I don't bring light born I get blinded from behind or at an angle which should be impossible to get or look away quickly and somehow I still get blinded.

Also survivors have no say on what perks you wanna use or how you play.

  • I give hatch, if I donate and the last survivor gives up. For example if I get the last survivor and they wiggle, I put them on hook. If they don't wiggle I give them hatch

  • It's simple why boons are so strong. The devs are more interested in the newer survivor players, then they are with killer players.

But I'm going to be honest killers should be able to destroy totems as well or buff hex undying to make it fair for both sides. As the hex used to bounce to different totems after it gets cleansed.

I'm just saying that once the killers get enough of the crap and they're gone then there's no more games. Only reason killers are staying is the dlcs. That literally comes every 3 months.

(Not to mention all the hacking and bug problems they help created.)

  • @JohnWeak said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2644894#Comment_2644894

You are right, those 99% gates are non sense... especially when you have blood warden...

Makes the game more interesting in my opinion.

  • @JohnWeak said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2644851#Comment_2644851

That's why i have said those changes would apply only till 1 gen is left then the regression is 100% whatever is the situation, same as today.

Alright that seems fair. But I still think the gates should have that change.

How I would change the gates

Once you're 25 meters away from the gate it'll regress 100%. (Speed of rank 1 ruin)

Staying near the gate will regress 50%

Tapping the gate lever multiple times so it doesn't regress, would cause it to short out and lose 10% of it's progress.

  • Well camping is a strategy for killers and I do agree with the changes that you come up with but it create problems as well.

Now let's take endgame for example. In endgame, if killer got someone on hook and both gates are being powered the killer has no choice but to camp so they can do their objective which is to kill the survivor.

I feel like in end game once the survivors get off the gate then it should regress, as to keep the game fair for both sides.

  • Well camping is a strategy. If it's a face camping babba then have your friends finish the gens. Don't get upset just because the killer isn't playing how you want them too. My advice go play a different match.

Not every game will be a face camping killer. True if a killer is having a crappy game and only have 3 hooks at endgame, they're going to camp to complete their objective which is to kill the survivors.

  • In my opinion chases are the fun part of the game, as I feel like doing the gens are boring there's no excitement and no real challenge to them.

But then again I am killer main and I do play both sides so I honestly can't speak on everyone else because they're opinion maybe different from mine.

  • I will say this noed is fair perk. As it is a killer's 2nd chance perk. Killers have a right to run 2nd chance perks just like survivors do.

Instead of crying about the hex do the 2nd objective of the game and cleanse the totems. It's that simple, heck ya even have multiple and I mean multiple perks that help you to track totems. So don't cry about noed.

Also on what you said, if it's endgame and he only got three hooks all game long. He's going to face camp to ensure that he does his objective which is to kill the survivors.

Im gonna be a friendly krampus, provided that the survivors arent toxic

Look I'll be friendly if a game isn't a sweaty one or toxic one. Heck if a survivor boop me or throws a rock at me then I'll just mess around with them.

  • @TeabaggingGhostface said:

I love it when they vault into shack when i have the pallet trapped and just blast through it because they werent expecting it

I know right. I can't wait for the Christmas event. I'm going to play krampus trapper. Lol look out snowmen

  • @glitchboi said:

The recent patch was an absolute buff to basement Trapper. Trapper Sack + Makeshift Wrap is NUTS. You get all your traps at the start of the trial, you put a buttload of traps in the killer shack, get a survivor into the basement, and let the magic happen. You don't even have to worry about stepping in your shack & basement traps thanks to the new Makeshift Wrap add-on, and if a survivor DHs through a trap outside of the shack, it doesn't even matter, their fate is sealed.

I haven't tried it but I've seen others use that build and it's really cool.

You should it's a lot of fun.

  • @C3Tooth said:

Despite Trapper just got alot of buff in his kit. But the maps are no longer help him. All the door step, stairs, Ormond snow, Autoheaven glass wreck...supposed to hide half of his trap. Everything is completely removed now.

Not true. If you know how to make loops unsafe and also on midwitch you can hide traps at the stairs.

Yeah that add on is pretty funny. High rank survivors always pull that dead hard into traps as if they were smart and I just walk past it and down them lmao.

I know. I love watching them think oh this will stop him. Come on trusty dead hard, now all he has to step on it... Wait #########?! Oh crap!! Gets down

  • As a killer main myself. The game isn't fun anymore. It's stressful, frustrating and the pole of killer feels like a chore to me.

When I play survivor it's less stressful but yet somewhat boring. As I want a challenge. That's just me though.

True I do take breaks from the game to play something else as this game drains me.

Having killers leaving game is a very bad sign. Both roles are very important to keep the game afloat.

  • Huh you cry about noed? Even though you can easily do the bones and use boon to stop the hex also it's the killers 2nd chance perk.

Like survivors have DH, DS, unbreakable, and soul guard.

Boons are a bit strong. They can be relit multiple times.

I even bet you don't even play killer in higher ranks.

Yes noed is fair for killers. Specially if the games has become a literal sweat feast. Once noed is gone it's gone, it doesn't get relit

You have serval perks that even help you to find totems. So the BS you cry about has no point.

  • Seriously? You're crying about tunneling and camping?

The person who plays killer can play anyway they want, not on how you want them to play.

It's honestly strategy for killers to use that specially if the killer knows they're going to lose. What do you expect the killer to do let you survive?

With current speed of gens being done, I completely understand why killers would camp or tunnel.

  • @RenRen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2594550#Comment_2594550

Like all survivors should have 3 tokens or all of them collectively have 3 tokens? Cause if you mean each one that's 12 tokens in total.

Fair point. Another idea is let the killer destroy the totem or let them place a hex on any totem they want.

  • @RenRen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2594165#Comment_2594165

See's that's what annoys me a lot. They nerf Undying cause it can be used a lot and don't get me wrong needing to cleanse 5 totems for it to go away is dumb. But then they proceed to do the same thing for survivor but rather then 5 times it's literally infinite and on top of that there can be 4 active at the same time.

That's why I call the devs hypocrites. If hex undying returns like it was then it would be fair against boon totems.

Here's an idea for a nerf, survivors should have 3 tokens for boon perks. They could only bless a totem 3 times.

  • @IronKnight55 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2594165#Comment_2594165

Hex: Undying was much, much stronger than boon totems (hex perks affect the whole map and every survivor). Killers can can hear the loud boon totems and destroy them in like a second. I say they are fair atm

Not if you had a really good 4 men swf team. They're stronger then hex undying, survivors can pick any totem to use the boon and also they can be use multiple times even if the killer snuff out them and they're not destroyed. They can even be placed on the same totem again. Old hex undying would've made it fair against them in my opinion rn, but in the past I agree it was to strong.

  • I honestly do. To the simple fact that devs are hypocrites.

I'm just saying hex undying did that for killers at one point. And now survivors have that power and more, it honestly makes it worse for balancing and also the fact that survivors can do it multiple times.

I would feel like it would be fair if undying worked like it did in the past

Or nerf the boon totems where they can only have one use and they only reuse it if the killer sniff out the boon totem.

Or allow killers to destroy the totems after the sniff it out.

Don't get me wrong I do love the new survivor and I have a lot of fun playing her. But I'm trying to keep opinion fair on both sides

  • @WeenieDog said:

What platform do you play on by chance?

    PlayStation

  • Huh, it sounds like he outplayed you. And ya deserve what ya got. It's honestly annoying for killer to have matches like that.

I bet you didn't even play killer and therefore you don't even understand, what the killer has to go through.

Also if it's end game and the killer is camping what do you except him to do? Leave the area so ya could get the save and escape. No it's the killers job to killer not let survivors escape.

Instead of complaining about it be a good sport men about it and if you can't do that play another game.

True but no one really complain about the 4th year anniversary like they did on Halloween. But in all of honestly if this year's Halloween event is like last year's then here I come VHS

  • @Ghoste said:

I can honestly explain why last year's Halloween event was a pathic cash grab. You had to grind for sherds or buy aruic cells for the Halloween cosmetics. And they had a backlash cause of it, for example the 2 years before that year gave way easy and fun currency to get the cosmetics. In my opinion the first one was the verizon of it. Not to mention the best Halloween cosmetics from last year you had to buy them. Don't get me wrong I love the blight skin
