You're letting your dislike of the guy take ahold of this. Try to avoid that, you're currently making a fool of yourself.

    You're honestly right

  • @ScottJund said:

Can you show me? I'd be happy to ban them from my channels.

I'm honestly laughing at them. I don't take them seriously.

  • Oh a lot of people I ensure.

Come on man I know you dislike me and that's perfectly fine, but name a single time I have done that other than the very obvious one you have on your mind, and even then I explicitly told people to not do that. I don't think its fair to boil 10 years of thousands of YT videos to a single instance and then define my entire character based on that.

As for you, I am not attacking you. At all. I don't even know how you are perceiving it like that. Your stance is that you shouldn't be shamed for having Lightborn because it denies the "survivor's fun." My stance is that Lightborn is a bad perk. They aren't even the same topic. I didn't even make the video about you, I made it about the comment the guy I responded to on the first page made. No one is attacking you dude.

Huh, if you didn't want people to attack why didn't you blur out my name or just not show the thread at all.

  • @Marigoria said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2706714#Comment_2706714

He should have at least blurred your name in the video. I know youtubers/streamers always say they don't tell their viewers to attack anyone, but what are they expecting when there's so many "yes ma'ams" in between them? It wouldn't be that difficult to blur your name, or even not show the thread at all, just state his opinion.

He always does this BS. If someone has a different opinion then his. He makes a video and then has his viewers attack that person.

  • Rude? Huh sending people to attack me on the forums isn't rude? Just because i can't have my own opinion when me, myself is playing killer. Now do you see why I don't like him

Content creator Scott Jund disagreed with the OP and they didn't like that. I'd honestly advise you not to bother getting involved. Unless you have more animal pictures, of course.

Oh you got that wrong. I just don't like Scott period.

I agree, no reason you can’t run Lightborn if you like it.

Thanks for agreeing. I have my reasons why I don't like Scott. But it's fine if you like him.

  • @dugman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2706080#Comment_2706080

Fair enough, certainly not saying you need to like him or whatever. 🤷‍♂️ I’m just saying from my outside perspective I didn’t see where he personally attacked you, I think he just thought you were overestimating Lightborn’s value overall.

I was telling about a game I had where survivors was using the locker for safety blinds and cussed me out and gave threatened my life I used lightborn so couldn't bully. I was also telling people don't let other people tell you what perk you should play. There is no shame in perks you wanna play with.

  • @dugman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2706041#Comment_2706041

For what it’s worth I didn’t read anything he said as attacking you personally. He just was saying Lightborn is a bad perk in his opinion.

He attacks anyone who disagrees with him. I honestly don't care what he thinks or what his opinion is. I don't really care about him

  • @dugman said:

And Scott posted a video on Lightborn in response to this thread

    https://youtu.be/C8eCJdmuTWM

Scott’s main point above is that Lightborn is detrimental to the killer because the moment the survivors realize they can’t blind you it forces them to just do gens which is a more time efficient playstyle than going for blinds in the first place. I definitely agree with him overall here, generally speaking if survivors are trying to blind you they’re playing sub-optimally so as a killer I’m typically happy when I see them do that.

There are a couple of minor technical points worth noting though that he skipped over

    • He only mentions flashlights, but keep in mind Lightborn also protects against Flash Grenades and Blast Mines, both of which are annoying in their own way. Again, I don’t think either grenades or mines really does much other than lose you a few seconds here and there, it’s rare for a grenade or blast mine to actually save anybody. But they’re also harder to avoid than flashlights (aside from flashlight blinds at pallets and maybe lockers) and it can get a little annoying if you kick a generator multiple times and get blinded by Blast Mines each time and have to rekick them. I admit that I’ve considered running Lightborn sometimes just because I get tired of being punked by Blast Mines. Again, this is more a quality of life benefit, not a strategic one.
    • While Lightborn does encourage survivors to play smarter, prior to that happening it does often result in a free hit or down or two assuming someone is trying to blind you. It can even potentially save a hook that you could have possibly lost against a really well timer blind. And it does save you small amounts of time occasionally picking someone up since you don’t have to worry about a blind at all. I don’t really think a potential extra hook is probably worth the survivors being enticed to play more efficiently on gens, but it’s significant enough to at least keep in mind when evaluating the perk.
    • Personally I sometimes run Lightborn as an all in gimmick build with Brutal Strength and a combination of Agitation or Fire Up or Enduring. It’s basically a free hit or down after a pallet drop or during a carry if they try and blind you. Again, absolutely not a great build, it’s just funny catching flashlighters offguard with it. 🙂

I was literally laughing at him, just glad I made him waste his time making a video to attack me.

For reference, Tru3ta1ent had a game his week where a swf was doing exactly what the original poster described. Basically they jump into a locker midchase and a partner is on the second floor waiting for the locker grab. The instant Tru opens the locker the person drops down and gets a 100% guaranteed blind save. If Tru instead ignores the locker and goes upstairs they just loop around and jump in the locker again. All four of them are at the building so the game isn’t progressing while this happens.

    https://youtu.be/8TJSvaDTrWA

Wow I honestly feel bad for Tru going through that. My game would've been like that if I didn't use light born

  • @Sludge said:

"Let us flashlight blind you or we'll genrush"

    ok?

How about this try to blind me, use that locker exploit. I'm sure lightborn will give me the hooks instead of none

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2705952#Comment_2705952

I don't see any of that. All I see in those pages is killers demaning nerfs about everything.

Oh really what about deathslinger? Instead of adapting to the game like killers do. You cry and cry so devs nerf that killer to a point where's he literally garage

  • @ThanksForDaily said:

This thread and forum is why devs don't hear killer mains opinions and suggestions.

Constantly crying about everything, not valid points, biased, ego, and hypocricy.

    Keep it that way.

Devs hear survivors crying more. Nerf this killer, nerf this killer perk. Until they do.

  • @AnneBonny said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2705926#Comment_2705926

doesn't really answer my question. sorry to hear but how does any of this relate to lightborn as a perk? i can kinda get felling ######### about being shamed for using certain perks but if you're getting hate to this extent i feel like you're dealing with a lot of ######### people and your perks don't have much to do with it.

Some survivors simply talk to me and try to understand, which I talk to them calmly.

  • @VikingDragonXii said:

Here's the thing using Lightborn dosnt mean a Killer dosnt have Skills or is new to the game just like the constant whining about NOED because thier precious Boons have made them not break totems allowing NOED to spawn. Yes alot of new Killers use both Perks to supplement thier lack of Skills but others who use them have the Skills and want that surprise factor.

It's like Clown with Pinky Finger and Confetti Bottle......oh Hahaha you hit me with Confetti Hahahah *gets downed in one hit* Lame Arse Clown you dont have skills because you used Pinky Finger addon.....

Or Spirit using Dried Cherry Blossom and Mother Daughter Ring.....again Survivors will whine and say the Killer has no Skills because they used that combo......just because a Killer uses a perk or addon or uses a Killer like Bubba dosnt mean they dont have the experience and skills to knock down hook and win.

Survivors who fo this are trying to mind game everyone into thinking it thier way so no one uses those things anymore....I say SCREW THEM and play how you want with what you want......as long as you dont become a Toxic Tunnler or Bubba Face Camper.......now if it's done to a Dwight or Ace......go right ahead because those two survivors dont deserve to be in the Entities game and need to die......SLOW AND PAINFULLY!

    You're absolutely right

are you putting your stream name in your username because that's generally not a good idea if it attracts people like that.

I literally stop streaming months ago because it gotten so bad.

that second half should go without saying but a lot of people here need it to be said ig lol. also, can't you just hide the endgame chat?

Doesn't stop the threats, racism and cussing now does it? Sometimes I stream and they come to my chat and do it.

  • @AnneBonny said:

i'm sorry but needing your usage of a perk in a game to be validated is the most pathetic ######### i've ever heard

Mmm that's your opinion. I used it and after I got the 4 k they cussed me out and threatened my life over a ######### video game. I'm simply telling people you can play anyway you want, so don't let others tell you how to play.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

Also anyone who is saying "You can easy counter flashlights and if you get blinded it is your fault usualy because you didn't look / didn't pay attention" is wrong. Yes, sometimes it is your fault but I remember I got and saw many times Killers get blinded even when they looked away, even when their whole screen was in front of big wall. Also there is that locker play where someone can blind you while you opening a locker, etc.

That's the main reason why I bring light born

  • @Sludge said:

You get genrushed regardless. Besides most flashlight squads hate afking on gens, so forcing them to do it is a win itself. What they really want is to toy with the killer before escaping.

My question is why waste a perk slot on Lightborn when you can just dodge and let them rot in queue?

    Waste a perk slot even though I got a 4 k. I don't see how I waste a perk slot if I got the 4 k

  • @Marc_go_solo said:

Thinking about it, if I get Lightborn in my mix I often hide the fact I have it, so of someone tries to blind I'll look away, leaving them thinking I don't have it, but in return I am protected and get the aura ability, which can be overlooked as a good effect.

If I were to just deathstare the flashlight, then survivors would leave it, but by leaving them to think I don't have it gets a lot more value out of it.

Smart tactic. That's what I do

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2705875#Comment_2705875

Sometimes that happends even when you play the most optimal meta builds + best add-ons on any killer. It will happen less offten for sure but still, happends.

I don't play for win, I play for having a good time and to have fun & decent games. Sometimes I get 4K, sometimes 2K, sometimes 0K like any other killer.

Don't listen to daily he's just entitled survivor main. As long as you enjoy the game way your fine

  • @ScottJund said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2705862#Comment_2705862

Where was I shaming anyone for using Lightborn? I actually think the perk sucks and was just trying to explain why

It sucks for entitled survivors yes.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

I like and play Lightborn for simply having a better time as a Killer. Just a comfort perk.

Good! That's also the point I was trying to make

…Not sure how he could possible have known that, nor how he made fun of it.

As for OP’s situation, good for you. I really don’t see how Lightborn was a wasted slot there. At some point, just one LB interaction in your favour is enough to gain momentum. This locker play completely shut down their play, which would’ve been miserable for you otherwise. They won’t be doing gens more than they would without a flashlight, and chances are they designed their builds around the thing they were trying to do as well. All in all, good stuff, I’d say.

    Thank you for agreeing.

  • @ScottJund said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2705850#Comment_2705850

While that sounds super awful to deal with, what on Earth does that have to do with anything we are talking about? I am also trying to help you. If you think gens go fast, they will go even faster with Lightborn because people with flashlights won't try to save anymore. Learning to deal with flashlights with skill is a better choice in my opinion. Either way it just sounds like you are unhappy with the game in general so I'm not sure what the point is.

My point is this people shouldn't be ashamed or threaten to play how they want. They don't need you tell them how to play. Let them play themselves. Also I sacrificed one perk for a 4 k seems like a smart idea to me

  • @ScottJund said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2705838#Comment_2705838

i promise that was not the sweet burn you thought it was. for the record, i don't even know if you disagreed with me. you have more fun when people just genrush you because they can't attempt blinds? i'd rather get blinded than not play the game at all, but to each their own. either way have a good night

I have scoliosis, and a rare disorder where my skull pressed against my spine causing me miserable back pain. So no it's not a sweet burn I'm just being honest. Also it doesn't matter gen gets done quickly regardless. The game is literally unbalanced and again I don't care what your opinion is.

  • @ScottJund said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2705834#Comment_2705834

lmao that was the most completely unnecessarily antagonistic response I have ever seen, thank you for the chuckle.

Oh are you making fun of me for being disabled?

  • @ScottJund said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2705799#Comment_2705799

Agreed. I think Lightborn is one of the worst perks in the game. As soon as a team full of flashlights see you have it, you no longer have a team that wants to mess around and get flashlight saves. They will all do gens as quickly as possible to spite you. Even with four flashlights, its so rarely a problem to deal with. If you down a guy, just look around for two seconds and chase the saver off for a second, turn back around and pick up. If theres ANOTHER guy then frankly no one is doing gens so who cares at that point.

Well Scott I prefer having fun over being bullied. Also I don't care what you think. I don't care what your opinions is. I generally don't care about you.

    @ThanksForDaily said:

How many hours do you have? 100? I don't blame you.

I guess Lightborn the biggest waste of a perk slot is good for new players.

Lightborn actually is bad for killers because when survivors realize that, they will stop wasting time for flashlight saves etc. And what they will do? Generators.

Not a big waste. I stop them from blinding me and escaping. Honestly you're not me and I play how I want. Did you know those survivors cussed me out over a game just because I used lightborn. So they can't locker blind me. God I hate people with this mindset. Killers are allowed to use any perk they want.

Also I been playing for 5 years and if I use lightborn sometime survivor threatened my life because I refuse to let them to bully me.

  • @Starrseed said:

Using light born is fine that's a trend I see more often the last few weeks that survs try to manipulate our mindset to think using it is a sign of being bad so we stop using it and they can continue to bully us. I even heard that some surv main streamers encourage that cause they want to have funny content where they jest swf bully all day

I mostly watch killer mains play. Watching survivor mains are rather boring. As they use the same builds over and over or have a 4 men to help them win most of their games.

  • @MrPeanutbutter said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/300965/lightborn-is-a-valid-perk

They’re just salty because they didn’t get to have their fun bullying you. Well done!

    Thank you.

  • If I see one flashlight, I don't add lightborn if I see 2 or more I will use lightborn. I don't like the locker blinds or if I have my back to them and still somehow I get blinded. Besides I like it because I can track the survivor's aura if they use mine blast. Also makes fireworks completely unless

  • Better idea.

Make the gate regress base kit, and once the gates are opened then add the kill option to kill the survivors. Leaving the exposed status effect active.

Or leave it as it is.

Look I'm just going to be honest noed is a 2nd chance perk for killers and they have just as much right to use the perk as much as a survivor using 2nd chance perk

  • Not at the beginning but after the map rework yes. I honestly love the snowmen specially if I see a krampus trapper

  • I play on playstation and I know how that feels and the best advice I can give you is to turn off cross play until the hacking problem is gone. True you get longer times but no more PC hackers

  • No he isn't easy, he takes a lot of practice to learn to be able to read survivors movements and also to learn the map which would help with his power and once you develop muscle memory with him, he becomes fun to play.

I'm a blight main and I been enjoying him once he came out and it took me month to master him. True I play on console and blight is harder on console. Look blight is a fun killer and if the devs are going to nerf him and making him unfun, I'm leaving dbd. I draw the line at blight nerfs

  • Yes and no.

I agree with the terror radius.

I disagree with the removal of the quick shots.

Quick shots made him unique. But now he's less useful as a killer. Still he's better then trickster.

  • She's gets some what boring after awhile. Look I play with almost all my killers and the most fun I have is with blight.

In my opinion she's slow and her crows hardly do any damage. True she can track and do damage at great distance if the survivor isn't pay attention

  • @NAERUUU said:

I mean you didn’t have wrong, if someone is afk … just don’t start a trial.

that’s alright men, kill them all

Look mate as killer I don't know who goes afk before the match. And also like I said before if I see an opportunity I'm going to take it

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

I played a game with Lethal Per. perk and see that Steve is AFK. So I down him, hook and go for someone else.

Then I was tbagged by him at the exit gates and I asked him why he is toxic and he said because I hooked him when he was AFK.

Like this is such one sided thing, if the killer is AFK you would do the same thing and you wouldn't even care about the killer. You are right, it is not my problem you are not playing the game you joined to play.

Exactly. I'm a type of person, if I see an opportunity I'm going to take it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2678395#Comment_2678395

Flashlight clicking/teabagging at pallet stuns is so dumb I just a assume only noobs do it. They haven't yet realized that:

    A) Good killers don't respect pallets and are perfectly willing to eat them

    B) Getting you to drop them is usually a win for the killer

I don't get mad at teabagging because it wastes their time and just makes them look stupid. And of these little things (running around in circles after vaulting/stunning, looking back over their shoulder at you after they drop a pallet, etc.) they do that wastes even a second of their time is fine by me.

Teabagging at the gate is just noob #########.

In that light my hatred of body blocking makes even less sense, since the whole team is wasting a ton of time, but it just irks me for some irrational reason. It's like "I don't care if we don't do our objectives, I just want to prevent you from yours". I'm generally very, very difficult to tilt, but that one just gets me for some reason.

Body blocking doesn't bother me as it's a chance to hurt more survivors specially if I'm playing basement trapper.

  • Flashlight clicks and teabagging at every stun they get and if I do really well and they teabag when the gate is powered as they know that they can easily escape as soon as I can get to them. Look survivors get very cocky on how easy their side is.

  • Blight or trapper

Blight: his cosmetics, power and lore and also I have a soft spot of Halloween themed characters.

Trapper the first killer I ever main and how he is now is honestly wonderful and I do enjoy the game with him and my favorite cosmetic for him would be the krampus.

  • In my opinion swf makes the game easier for survivors. But when I play survivor I honestly don't need a swf to play. As I feel swfs makes the game to easy and I'm a type of person who prefers a challenge over an easy victory.

I honestly don't care if people play swf or not, I honestly don't respect them either. True they may say that they are solo but you can always show them proof that they aren't.

Why they claim that is because they don't want to called weak or scummy players as they desperately needs their hands held even more to play an easy role of the game.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 8
