  • Don't have fun bullying weaker survivors(its lame)---wants to have tough matches---All the best survivors you know are at lower rank because they derank.

Are you implying that you derank because you want to face them more often?

Then you should encourage all those survivor streamers or good survivor players to stop deranking, since they doing it will influence a lot of their viewers/other people to do the same. if none of them deranked you wouldnt need to derank in order to find more tough matches.

Wanting to play at lower ranks doesn't automatically mean bullying. The pipping system for survivor is so screwed up that it's easy to end up at a rank where it's absolutely impossible to enjoy the game.

Was watching a small streamer, plays DbD only occasionally, she's nevertheless rank 1. She played at rank 1 for 5 1/4 hours and escaped only twice during that time, once vs a meme Leatherface insidious-guarding his basement chest. Multiple times the killers had 4ks even before hatch was unlocked. Towards the end the only reason she kept playing despite being deeply frustrated was because she was hoping for one good match to finish off which never came. Despite playing hopelessly unsuccessful at rank 1, she didn't drop in rank either and when she dropped to 2, she was back at 1 the next game despite having a bad game.

I hate playing at higher ranks as well, mainly because the fellow survivors you get in solo queue are on the same skill level of those you get on rank 15 (red ranks didn't change anything), but the killers get better and better and fully perked out and totally tryhard I can't easily 1 vs 1 them anymore (which is necessary considering my teammates are mostly more of a burden than help). Moreover, almost every single game 3rd person got slugged to deny the 4th the hatch. Makes the last four minutes of the game terribly boring.

I am managing my own rank by simply playing at most one survivor game per day, and many days I don't play at all. Last season I managed to never get higher than 11. I would rather like to play more and not be forced into simply playing only one game every couple of days.

So you guys want to play against newbie killers, that chase you a little bit, but they are not able to catch you, just for your own enjoyment?

Maybe you are not trying to intentionally bully, but wanting to play at a lower rank compared to your own skill level just in order to have easier matches is like bullying for those lower rank players.

You guys really, really have to stop equating rank to skill level. Yes, it matters from like 15-20 because those are the genuine new player ranks, but once you get above that, while higher ranks will probably have a few more good players than not, it truly, truly does not make much of a difference. Everyone knows that equating your rank to skill in this game is something only new players do.

You said it yourself "...while higher ranks will probably have a few more good players than not..."

So you guys try to stay on lower ranks on purpose in order to avoid facing those extra "few" good players, just so you can have more amount of easy matches.

I do understand when people try to stay on lower ranks in order to get faster queues.
But staying on lower ranks just for the sake of having easier/funnier matches doesnt seem right to me(it might be fun for you, but probably not for the other side)

Hi everyone. Don't you agree that the licensed killers are being ignored VERY hard?

Michael has been in the game since the first Halloween after the release of the game and has only gotten nerfed and has never gotten a nice cosmetic.
Same goes for the other licensed killers like Freddy and Leatherface but Michael has been in the game way longer than them, so as a Michael main (I guess) this annoys me quite a bit.
You'd think the devs would release a new cosmetic to celebrate the new Michael Myers movies but nothing has been announced or anything like that.

I wish for Michael in particular and the other licensed killers to finally get cosmetics as well. even if they are real-life currency.

They probably need permission from the owners of those licensed killers in order to make cosmetics for them, and very probably pay them.

    Hello there!
    I am confused.
How am I supposed to play the game as a killer?
If I go doctor with Distressing, Unnerving Presence, Thrill of the Hunt and BBQ and just focus to hook every survivor once, not tunneling and not camping. And the rest of the game just try to maximize my BP by kicking pallets and gens, I end up easily with 50k-70k BP and lose rank because I didn't kill enough survivors. What's actually a good thing! Lower rank=less stressful games and more fun.
The only way I end up killing survivors is, when they are throwing themselves at me.
But if I go full tryhard and go for a 4k I end up with 25k-35k BP and rank up. But this is so more stressful and less rewarding.
BP gives me more new and shiny stuff to play with and progress inside the game and on the other hand, ranking up makes everything just more difficult and stressful.
Even the survivors are more happy if I just play easy for the BP. They all get hooked but not camped, tunneled or killed. They are happy to escape and having a fun.

So please tell me, what am I supposed to do inside your game?
The rewards are contradicting and confusing to me.

You can play the game being nice and still get a lot of BP and 3-4 k on high ranks, but you need to be a pretty good killer and know when to let them go and how many of them you can let go and for how long so you dont lose the game, and also needs to know when to pump pressure.

  • @SuperiorityComplex said:
While I do agree camping is a valid tactic and totally within the killers rights, I do think it’s quite unfun for the hooked survivor. The killer should have his aura revealed to the rest of the survivors if he stands within x meters of the hook for x seconds and not in a chase.

Survivors can use Kindred for that.

No, this is the type of body blocking that will result in a ban if reported.

It's not bannable, the killer isnt holding the game hostage, they are just killing a survivor.

I believe it is, it is preventing the survivors from doing their job, therefore holding the game hostage.

    It's for a purpose.
You are killing someone down there in the basement.
It's like extended camping thus not bannable.

Except that facecamping was bannable and they changed the game to allow survivors to unhook from all sides. And that isnt camping, its holding the game hostage to me

Only to you it means holding the game hostage.

To the rest of the people, the killer is just securing the kill and avoiding anyone to save the survivor that is hooked on the basement, the game is not hostage, the hooked survivor will end the game by dying on the hook, while the other 3 can just do the gens and end the game by exiting through gate/hatch----So no one is forced to DC in order to leave the game.

You should think about it, maybe you are wrong or maybe the rest of the world is wrong.

"Yay we didn't die." isn't exactly the feeling I want to feel. "I killed everyone!" Is a much better feeling.

To be honest you just more BP from being a killer unless you get destroyed you'll get more BP. as well as for me it takes it takes a little less skill... not saying it don't take any. I mean I just sit back and relax while I play killer. When I play survivor I have to focus on 10 things at once where's he coming from, the skill checks, my surroundings is there a TR, Make sure I throw down pallets at the right time. Whoa man I just want chill. I want to relax. Sure I'm probably low rank because I don't take the game to seriously.

Though am I the only killer main here who only Tolerates SWF

You have yet to encounter a good SWF group with coms, once you encounter 1 of those, as a killer you feel powerless, unless you play nurse and you're good at it.

well it teaches all the leather face mains to stop camping

I'm not trolling, not even trying to, ya good and mighty killers can enjoy your small little game, lobbies time already gone up because devs tryin' to babysit so called 'killers' who got terrified for so long with all the unfair advantages survivors had, so sad, i guess you went through a really hard time getting blinded and outrunned to hell and back, not stretching this even longer, have fun in your soon empty lobbies

I play both killer and survivor, and as a survivor you can still loop the killer around for quite a long time.

  • Just play survivor for a bit.

I usually play a lot of killer, but when there is a new dlc or some events, i play survivor because faster q's.

So i keep noticing every now and then, I'll fast vault over a window, it makes the "loud" noise thing yet my character still does the slow animation. It might be ping but it happens so often in green ping games... I've sorta tested this thing out and it seems like it only happens if you don't run to the window straight on, so running at it and pressing space sorta at a diagonal angle seem to make this weird animation glitch happen.

You need to run in a straight line to the window to fast vault, if you run parallel to the window wall and then you vault, even if you are running, it will slow vault and make noise like if it was fast.

Example: you are running around killer shack on the outside, circling it and you try to vault the window to go inside the shack, if you dont make like a small move to the outside before vaulting the window, it will slow vault.

    Hey all,

So I've played <10 games so far and I'm really enjoying this game. The perks I am using are iron grasp, whispers and BBQ and chili on Leatherface (I'm rank 17, not sure if that makes a difference or not). My main problem is generators are getting done before I can even find anyone. I'll patrol gens and kick them, but I'm not finding the survivors at the gens. My secondary problems would be I have trouble keeping up with some survivors who can just loop me pallet after pallet. Also, often, some survivors just disappear on me (I have trouble keeping track of them) while I'm crushing a pallet or climbing a window. I do have color vision problems IRL and the "scratch" marks left by survivors are very hard to see.

I know I need to practice, but I was just wondering if anyone knew some neat strategies to help with these issues I'm having?

    Thank you!

Try to unlock the hag and then unluck Ruin, its a perk that might help you to have more time.

Hello all! I am new to the forum, but not the game.
I have suggestions on things I would like to see changed in Dead by Daylight, as I have always found them quite frustrating. More so the frustrations I find when playing as killer.

    1.Generator progression/Gen-rushing.
I feel generators still turn on much too quick. If there could please be more of a slower progression. Many rounds I'm finding that there simply is not enough time to catch anyone/everyone and sacrifice. Especially when each survivor has to be hooked multiple times.

    2.Juking/Zigzagging/Circling.
One of the most frustrating parts to me is the quick evading that survivors are allowed to do when the killer gets close. I have mentioned before on the Steam forum that there should be a radius in front of the killer. If the killer catches up to the survivor and the survivor enters this radius, then it temporarily locks them into a position where they are unable to turn.

    3.Survivor speed.
Another change I would welcome is to have survivors lose speed once hit. More times than not when I hit a survivor they are able to somehow marathon speed around the map, continually pallet looping and dodging.

    1. Body-blocking/Hook-blocking.
I have always felt that hook-blocking has no place in this game. The killer can swipe at the ones who block, but I find that is hardly a deterrent for the blockers since survivors can easily heal. Without enough time, and possibly a perk like "Iron Grasp" to make sure the captured survivor won't escape while you're busy swiping at everyone blocking, then most often the one caught escapes. It's a flawed part of the game that I wish would desperately be fixed.

    5.Notice of last survivor.
I mention this one as I recently played a game where the last survivor ended up hiding in the map. I searched as best I could but could not locate them. The time dragged on as the survivor had a laugh at my expense through sending me inbox messages, and I eventually had to quit. I believe the game should have a timer that sets as soon as there is one survivor left.

If the survivor does not either escape through the exit gates or the hatch by an allotted time, then that last survivor becomes visible on the map for the killer to see. There are certain perks like "Whispers" that can help the killer detect where the survivor may be, but that is not always equipped when a situation like a survivor endlessly hiding happens.

That is all for now, and thank you for listening.

    No trolling please.

But that’s just silly to me why walk when I should be able to run where I want too and then say if I run into the killer I don’t have to worry that I just wasted my perk and now have exhausting. I just think it is silly and you should be able to choose when to use those perks that’s all really doesn’t like a bad idea to me though

Use Lithe, there are plenty of windows/pallets on maps, when the killer start chasing you, just vault any of those and bolt away.

Just a suggestion, make the perk Hope infinite when the generators are powered and not just (2 minutes if i'm not wrong?). It's pointless since it just activates at the end of the game and it's nothing compared to perks like NOED for example.

2 minutes is more than enough to escape after all gens have been powered.

    Here’s how we could balance Camping;

When the killer is in close radius to the hooked survivor for a certain amount of time, the hooked survivor’s life bar depletes considerably slower, giving a killer more of a choice to go after survivors on gens or to continue camping the single person on hook.

And you loose blood points the longer you are that close to the hooked survivor, like reverse basement time points,

I think this could help Balance the Camping problem in dead by day light, and will make it a more enjoyable game for players :)

Why not instead of slower development when killer is near, we have faster development when the killer is away?

Dont like it? then dont suggest dumb stuff xd.

If I’m the one who manages to get stuck somewhere as killer I’ll let the survivors do their thing and escape, and as survivor I’ll leave as I’M the one who is stuck. It’s just the decent thing to do.

plus this guy only stands to lose 2-3k, I’ve worked hard, won the match and have 50k to lose. Why should the survivor be rewarded for a poor match which they would have had no chance of surviving?

Looks like dat zurvivor ain't respectin' yer Code of Honor™ there, son.

But devs ban people based on the rules of Dead by Daylight, not rules made up by salty players on the forum.

What rules have I made up? Im not asking for them to be banned, but they are the one who refuses to leave purposefully to rob another player of any points in a match.

If I was stuck there would be a way for both parties to get points and for the match to end. This way there is not. I’ve tried talking to this player via message but they are happy to ‘wait for me to quit’.

Why do you think is his victory less worth? For example I don’t need any blood points more, I could mb need xp for shards and ranking. I wouldn’t give this away just because you think your points are more worth than anything else. Deal with it whiny killer.

There is no victory for the survivor, as Op stated, NO GENS WERE COMPLETED, so hatch was not and option for the survivor, the survivor somehow glitched on some wall, in a way that the killer cant reach him.

So the survivor is trying to hold the game hostage and wait for the killer to DC, so it counts as if the survivor succeded in escaping(survivor is using a bug/glitch to try to win a game that he will lose 99% of the time, lets be real, its very unlikely for the solo survivor to finish 2 gens while the killer is looking for him/her).

Killer mains are SALTY over decisive strike. It is a crutch perk but so is BBQ and Chill, brutal strength, and nurses calling...not to mention all of the aura reading add-ons that could be called a crutch on the killers side. There are both crutch survivor perks (DS, sprint burst, self care) and crutch killer perks. If it works then why ######### about it? If the player using DS acts toxic, don’t assume everybody who runs DS is a toxic player.

I looked at the most popular survivor channels on YouTube and after heavy research found that ochido's channel is the most popular of all of them. I'm calling the kettle black because the kettle is black, ds is a dead give away that your a toxic player same as a killer running insidious. The difference is most killers don't run insidious.

Also you don't realise how Ds is damaging the upper rank survivor games. Ds players are notorious for letting their team die in order to get hatch. Killers won't pick em up unless there far ahead and many survivors have to take the fall instead of the Ds player who played badly.

Its funny how this perk screws over other survivors by boosting the rank of players whose mechanics are not as sharp as the cream of the crop. I would have never made it to rank 1 as killer if there weren't so many boosted survivor players as their is now. You can thank decisive strike for that.

Of the five main YouTuber DBD players (OchiDo, Monto, Panda, No0b3, Tru3Ta1ent) the most “popular” one is Panda with 512K subs. Out of ALL of them (Tru3Ta1ent rarelt plays survivor as it is) the only two that run Decisive is No0b3 and OchiDo and only ONE is really actually a toxic player. I’m pretty sure you can guess who that is. You can’t say “if you run decisive strike you are a toxic player”. A lot of people who do ARE toxic, but not every last player who runs the perk is toxic. Doesn’t matter anyways, if people want to run the perk then let them and not make a big fuss about it. It’s not any worse that an Insidious Leatherface hiding in the corner of a basement waiting to somebody to come down and make the save.

Except its messing with the rank system. Players who are the obsession are left till last meaning they pip faster and end up populating the high ranks. They then coast on the skill of their teammates as they are hooked and killed last because the killer (in order to remain competitive) needs to target the non-obssesion players first. When people start dying the Ds player will back off and hide until the last member of there team dies.

You might not care about the high rank play but there are plenty of survivors and killers who are sick of this. You can't grasp how frustrating it is to lose at least 4 seconds of time to ds and the reactivation of the chase. If your not always hooking and you lose momentum losing a hook  the game is over. Never mind teams full of Ds that can massively destroy any momentum you could gain as a killer.

It such a massive game inbalance. I had games where I saw a Ds in play with two last second flashlight switchers. Long ago I would play the game as if I didn't even know it was in play and barely land a kill due to the stun time and momentum lost. The next time this happened I choose to go against my own rules and face camp the Ds player when they got knocked down next to the hook. They all raced for the save and sure enough none of them did gens. I continued this strat for the rest of the game until the last player was left. He went for the hatch and I finished with three sacrifices and a pip.

This was the optimum play because I assumed everyone had ds and post game lobby I was vindicated with all 4 players running ds. This is what Ds counterplay looks like its facecamping the Ds players because they all play in a behaviour that obvious. Spamming flashlights and tea bagging. Sometimes stereotypes exist for a reason and the perks a survivor uses often gives you a damn good read on the type of players your up against.

So in summation Ds is a perk that only pushes weak players up the ranks with counterplay that is unfun and boring. But do go ahead and argue how it doesn't matter. The facts will always be at your feet all you have to do is look.

You. Can’t. Say. All. Decisive. Players. Are. Toxic. You’ve gone against high rank decisive players, they are most than likely toxic. But don’t tunnel the obsession because they have decisive. I ran decisive strike when I was a new player to get a a good grasp on the game. Decisive was actually in the shrine about a week or two after I started playing. It was around March/April.

Decisive counters a players mistake, a crutch. NOED is a killer crutch, it can be countered but it is not ALWAYS countered. Oh well...if you don’t like decisive I don’t know what to tell you. It isn’t gonna stop people from running it as a perk.

I never expected people to stop running it. When it comes to multiplayer games players will exploit the strongest strategy to get to the top. They will fast track by any means necessary. I want to explain the damage this perks is doing to high rank play and get across that its counters are not pleasant and only serve to promote a cruel killer play style.

More importantly I want survivors to know that the Ds players are the ones pushing a tunneling killer play style as choosing to chase the obsession will yield no hook as it is likely their carrying ds so when I see you running by a pallet spamming your flashlight. I m not gonna chase you if I know you have ds I'll just chill by the hook or hunt someone else.

So many survivors complain about tunneling unaware why the killer will chase them after unhooking rather then the saver will its likely your saviour is carrying ds and we are not gonna throw our game to chase the ds player and give you a chance.

I saw a truetalent video recently where he teamed up with a survivor to hunt the last player who was a Ds player he had downed repeatedly but never picked up because again killer momentum is lost. They tracked em down and hooked him as he was waiting by the hatch not bothering with gens for the second half of the game.

This is important to note as these players are a dime a dozen in high ranks and pretending their is nothing we can do about this perk is just gerrymandering. Things can be done an incentive to pick up the survivor a forced no mither state or a hook state immediately lost when Dsing. Perhaps the survivour will become moriable immediately after using ds now that's an incentive. Perks like ds need to have heavy consequences so the perk can balance its insanely powerful nature.

I mean EVERY SINGLE update in the game has been killer buffs and survivor nerfs. In the beginning, I will agree survivors were overpowered, especially before bloodlust. Although with each killer buff patch, how many more can we get before killers become extremely OP? Sure some killers probably will never be OP (Freddy/Wraith) but some DO NOT need any buffs (Billy/Nurse/Huntress/Myers). Survivors don’t exactly need a buff but killers really don’t either. The game is not supposed to hold your hand as you try and hook survivors, you will not get a 4K every single round. Decisive Strike is a survivor crutch but with that nerf coming in soon and all the killer buffs, there isn’t a need to complain about decisive strike. I just don’t want to game to be SO MUCH in the killers hands were the survivors have no chance of escape even with a bad killer. Trust me, I don’t want it easy as a survivor but they need somewhat of a chance of escape.

A good survivor can easily loop a good Billy/huntress/myers for like 4 gens(unless on some specific very bad maps).

This game is actually still on the survivors hand by a LARGE margin.

You are right that Hag makes that an issue. But they could disable that for Hag if she has a trap within 10 meters of the hook.

I would be fine with the opposite as well that while a killer is within 10-15 meters of the hook (and not in a chase) then the time would go half as fast. Although perks like Insidious would have to counter act that effect.

no. never, ever. increased progression speed because the killer isnt near?

    absolutely terrible.

there is already an incentive called: if you camp, you lose.

if he doesnt move away from that 1 guy he hooked at 5 gens, he will lose. unless the survivors [BAD WORD] up big time, then he might not lose.

we're not going to punish survivors, because the killer is doing what he can to win, which is patrol generators. thats just silly.

I just suggested that idea because im kinda tired of all those posts: "punish killers for camping"

I think the game is fine as it is right now concerning camping, like you said if killer camps at 5 gens, he kinda deserves to lose.

Why not instead of punishing the killer for staying at the hook, we reward him for leaving the hook.

If killer stays at the hook, normal progression speed.
If killer leaves hook, x3 hook progression speed.

Like this, if the killer wants kills fast, he better leaves the hook and not camp.

No killer will camp if they implement this :) easy camping fix.

I think this is a great idea. Probably more like 2x speed while the killer is at least 24 or 30 meters away from the hook. But a great idea that would promote a quicker back and forth.

its a terrible idea. even 2x faster is a death sentence for survivors and im not even a survivor main.

do you know what my favorite strategy with the hag is? hook a guy, put 2 traps near it. now i dont even have to be around to camp hooks, i just teleport back in.

imagine how fast i would skewer survivors if it was 2x speed.

im sorry but increasing progression speed is a terrible idea for survivors.

Well they can just make it so it applies to certain killers and not others.

Nurse/billy/hag have no reason to camp since they can just teleport or get back really quick due to their secondary skill.

So just make it so this thing/change applies to all killers except those that have special mobility skills.

Here is an idea for a change in the game, I know this is gonna catch alot of flack by player that play like this but let face it if you depend on tunneling and camping you're pretty much ######### at the game anyways so those opinions won't bother me.
I think there should be per say a timer for in which a killer can't hook a survivor again with out a penalty to the killer or no penalty to the survior. My idea is basically if a killer downs a survivor immediately off hook and then re-hooks that same survivor it should be counted at the previous hook not a second if done in a certain time frame. This would deter farming and tuneling. It wouldn't eliminate it but it would give survivors a weapon against this type of play.
Second Camping: I think that a system should be in place that if a killer doesn't break a certain radius , can't be the terror radius cause its different from killer to killer, that hook degradation for the survivor is stopped or dramatically slowed down. The emblem system wasn't enough to stop this type of gameplay mostly because survivors need to be altruistic to build that emblem to pip. 1 survivor save ,1 gen, 9min alive= 1 pip 9 or pretty close. No save pretty much no pip just a safety. This really won't hurt the good players that play good and don't need to camp. It would be just forcing players that play a ######### style of play to get better.
This is is just my opinion and I know that it may not be liked by some, but its just an opinion and idea.

    that doesnt even help ANYONE.

3x progression speed for the hook? are you kidding me, survivors would be SKEWERED left and right if you play as the hag. put 4 traps around the hook and you can teleport back anytime you want MEANWHILE you are out the hooks range so the survivors gets almost insta mauled by the hook and killed in what, 30 seconds?

please think about your suggestions before you post them. they help neither the killers, nor survivors. in all honesty they most definitly dont help the survivor.

right now, killers have a good incentive to not camp, its called: you bloody lose if you do". (under normal circumstances that is)

3x hook progression speed because im not near the hook? thats insanely over powered for killers.

Its just an idea, ofc the devs can decide on the progression speed, they can even decide making it like the further the killer is, the faster the progression becomes, and balance it around the hag trap teleport range and other stuff.

To me i think maps are way to bright for (nighttime) I think we should make maps darker it would be good for survivor's and killer's, more stealth for survivor's and in a way the killer need's stealth too, to be able to sneak up on survivor's from a direction they don't expect. If you don't think so or if you have a similar idea reply to this post.

Most killers have heartbeat, so survivors will know when they are getting close.

Also killers have the red light, so u can tell from where he is coming from.

DBD is my favourite game. I have t-shirst, figures, wallpapers about this game.
I am the killer main, but also play as survivor and I very upset about direction this game is heading towards.
Since the patch which changed pallet loops (no more vacuming) playing as a killer started to be not challenging at all.
    1. No more vacuming destroyed element of surprise, challenge. You said that reworking "pallet loops" will make oportunity to mind games but what u made is completely opposite. Survivors now are dropping pallets as fast as they can and running to next pallet gym.
    2. Exhaustion nerf made the chaise predictable. When I was chaising survivor and he did second time perfect dead hard I was like "Holy crap, nicely done, didnt expect that, now I will remember that filthy survivor".
    3. Picking up time destroyed completely flashlight saves. When I downed survivor I felt thrill of the hunt, as a hunter I was trying to protect my prey, didnt want to let it free because survivor with flashlight. I had many ways to counter it, lightborn, franklins, looking at the wall. After 2.1.0 you dont even think about flashlight save because now its very hard to do.
    4. Playing as a killer is starting to be like find survivor (easy) -> down it (after vacuum patch easy) -> hook it (after 2.1.0 easy) -> repeat. The worst thing about that, that you are ranking very fast, and the better rank you have the longer time you are wasting in lobby. So actually game is punishing you for being high ranked. I didnt play any game since 2.1.0 because I am rank 1. I wasted like 2 hrs waiting for game.
    5. Survivors are starting to be nervous. Since the vacuum patch I am noticing more disconnects, no more "gg" in lobby and so on. Is this what you called "fighting toxicity" ?
    6. You made low-tier killers (trap and hag) to top-tier killers in just one patch. IN JUST ONE PATCH. How can it be balanced ?
    7. Brand new part was nerfed 2 times, and now u have to 4 BNP to do gens, and it is still ultra rare. Is this balanced ?
    8.
DBD is only game I play, and I am scared about decisive strike and self-care nerf, because propably it will destroy the game. The survivor population will go down, beceause with every patch you are nerfing them.

Survivors are fine, any decent survivor can still run around any killer except the nurse for like 4 gens.
