I find this trend of "let's buff some lower tiers buuut..this killer should get nerfed too is going to be made into a fruitless venture once the solo survivor buff happens..then nobody will play anything but meta again be cause matches will end even faster than ever

If they want to take it that way. I just find the overreaction on the forums ridiculous when it comes to nurse. A lot of bad nurses got weeded out and are complaining because they cannot rely on their omega blink nurse to carry them through a game. If you are a good nurse, you will still play well and perform well.
A very shallow and frankly misguided view on the situation
-
Eh it just makes her feel less unique..its sad but hey people just didnt learn and now dont have to
-
The changes will have a lot more impact than you know...anything more and you'll kill her off...

I wouldn't be upset about the exclusive outfits if they had been consistent and also released the legacy outfits. I've been playing this game since the hags release and since then have logged almost 3000 hours into it. In that time I've prestiged as many characters as possible and earned all the event skins that have been made available. If I had the opportunity I would've loved to have been able to grind out the legacy skin for my 2nd favorite killer (wraith). But accepted the fact that they were no longer available. Having the previous skins that I had worked for handed out to everyone for zero effort while keeping the only skins I've missed out on unavailable to me feels like a slap in the face.
Well..I honestly say this..hallowed blight makes legacy a joke..heck the only one I really liked was Billy's pants..however I understand your view but the devs were very clear on why they did it and frankly exclusive items are just..dumb in general
-
I agree the addon will be nowhere near useful but..I'm not crying over an addon I thought was overrated
-
Not really but..at least they didnt hit her blindly like they did nurse
-
It would be too broken..especially now theres no limit on usage..this was ptb tested and it was horrible

@Peanits I had a question for you in the post but it didnt highlight , please and ty

If it was occasional that I would just ignore it. But if people start seing common pattern with huntress' using this add-on than assuming everyone does behave like this is but the most common of consequences.
Maybe..but once again it doednt justify anything..if anything it just makes it more amusing when they get pissed after losing

The thing is it's used more to bully or be an ######### rather than how strong it is. I have yet to see an Huntress who doesn't behave like a ######### child after they win with Iri-head
Someone being petulant doesnt justify anything..otherwise ds shouldnt be allowed to be meta relevant as it's the most bm thing in this game presently...iri heads requires both addon slots to even be semi good vs decent players and even then once you know they have them..its sad how easy it is to avoid

multiple hatchet add ons shouldn't work with it
Yes it should and it's no big deal, base huntress has horrible wind up speed..if you cant avoid that well..you got played
-
Iri heads are severely overhyped, people make too much fuss over using two addons..its annoying hearing people gripe over something easy to avoid as base huntress is slow
-
Lol cant say im sympathetic
-
Am I correct in the change to her out of phase that the purpose is to shorten the window to use her longest lunge therefore stopping you from lunging last second for a huge speed boost? So you have to dedicate your lunge earlier ?
-
I'm glad they took it no farther than necessary..the nurse was giving everyone bad vibes..however the collision change is bigger than many know..now good spirits didnt rely on bumping and itll make spirits need to learn phasing times so that way spirits have to give survivors a moment to react..seems they finally realized they were going too far
-
Theres more than enough time to test her and the new killer..this will just keep players in the ptb longer

it could have been worse for sure but we really wont know until the PTB/release comes out
So far the only major change was her vault..I'm fairly certain the out of phase just makes her gradually move slower instead of suddenly as to reduce the window to get her full lunge

Regarding the Katana Tsuba and Wakizashi Saya, it's not just a shot in the dark. We make sure to do our research first, and these were definitely too strong (especially when combined). This clip alone shows why way better than I could ever explain: https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/dwendd/a_well_deserved_nerf/
To be fair you guys have a history of compounding these things till it's way overdone..so far this looks good but I do agree it seems you just took a hard swing at the addons..but it remains to be seen how much
-
They were quite delicate this time which many will appreciate
-
Honestly for something as small as cosmetics..I dont really care..if anything it's nice seeing more diverse cosmetics..and it's not just some people didnt earn it..some people couldnt even try to get it..how do those people feel? This whole thing is a pure good..exclusive cosmetica in games do nothing but cause entitlement for some and frustration for others..from where I'm sitting this was a good idea
-
@Peanits said:
Basically for the reason you've said. You go to a window (like shack)- which can easily be dealt with through mindgames and knowing how to run the tile- and the survivor has literally no way to tell if you're actually vaulting or if you're just standing there. If they stick around to wait and see, it's too late. If they start running around and find out that you were really just standing there, it's too late. It's a blind gamble and something we'd like to avoid.
We'd like for the mindgames to be something you actually do, not something that just happens for you.
Or you could position yourself to where your sage from both..? There is a pretty big tell when a vault is initiated to be fair
-
Well seeing as they did a much better job with spirit than I thought I have reason to look forward to the new killer,/ the doctor update , and hoping they tweak nurse a bit so she isnt so kneecapoed by her new cd
-
That is cringe worthy
-
Hh..that's the real mystery of it all

yeah...
Mindbreaker is basically useless, Cruel Limits needs to block the vault locations a LOT longer to be even worth considering and Surge only works for normal M1 hits for some reason, which again is killing the perk.
though Surge is at least somewhat decent - but the other two...
The real issue is surges upside is so small its negligible while its downsides are worthy of a meta perk

maybe the next chapter will provide us with with some good perks ^^
i do agree the Demogorgon perks have been rather underwealming... and GF also didnt bring the best perks in - they are better than Demo's perks though.
Lol demo brought some of the worst perks in dbd..mind breaker is so bad it makes sb more powerful lol

the difference here is, that this perk will force them to hold M1 for even longer than they already have to, which is just unfun and not at all interesting gameplay.
and with that in mind, i think -25% with only 5 hooks is just too strong.
also i never said it would be "ok for survivors to get powerful perks with no real need to earn it.. while killers should be strictly medicore".
i never even started talking about survivor perks or how balanced they would be. also, the new Dying Light is not just "medicore". its a really good perk, though it requires you to work for it, which imo is an important aspect.
your idea would just turn the game into an M1 simulator very fast, with no way to turn it off other than the obsession DCing. 5 hooks is just not enough of an requirement to justify such a huge debuff to the survivors, thats all i'm trying to say.
Considering other buffs can be applied in higher numbers and instantly I doubt it would be that huge..but it would be nice not to get a crappy perk..weve had a lot of those recently
-
@Mister_xD said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/833400#Comment_833400
well, its a lot faster than the 8 to 9 hooks you are requitred to get now to achieve similar numbers...
if its a killer with good snowballing potential, 5 hooks can be done rather fast.
Mhm...so you think it's ok for survivors to get powerful perks with no real need to earn it..while killers should be strictly mediocre? That's pretty crappy if I'm honest
-
Nah..itll be
New killer: *something in Japanese *
Spirit: Wahh!!

@Mister_xD said:
imo PGTW is the best perk to replace Ruin with.
Ruin is just so... bad...
regarding your change suggestion:
i think having a 25% action speed slowdown for everyone that is achieved very fast is not going to be healthy for this game.
the devs are trying to avoid the M1 simulator Survivor can be and add more unique gameplay elements, and a perk like that would be very counteractive towards that goal.
Five hooks is fast to you..?

Every perk has counters and downsides, whether survivor or killer. The game is designed around subjective risk.
Yet lately I see far more risk and far less reward for killers..and not just in perks either..do forgive me if I try to get a bone tossed in that direction
-
My only worry is their first original killer in many months will be designed for survivors or tailored specifically to their liking..I pray I'm very wrong and this could be an awesome killer..but the devs have shown their methods for now arnt looking bright for killer players

That’s not its purpose though.
There are already perks that hinder survivors from the beginning of the match. DL is to progressively make the match more difficult as the match progresses, which there’s aren’t many perks that do this.
Additionally a killer doesn’t need to do anything unique in order to get the perk to work. Simply by engaging in regular gameplay the killer gets rewarded with 3 survivors suffering debuffs.
This is why (due to its ease of use) it comes with the restriction of one survivor doesn’t suffer the penalty, one survivor doesn’t contribute to the perk tokens, and they have a 33% healing bonus to mitigate how much longer healing takes for the other 3 survivors, and that’s IF the Obsession can reach an injured or dying survivor.
Yet by the time it activates the objective is basically won..therefore making it very slow to activate..as well as slightly limiting your options in pressure..again..the perk is weak and underperforming..meanwhile detectives hunch went from meh, to being borderline broken, totem perks cant survive anymore if even 2 people run it..heck just one person with it can make noed disappear before 3 gens ..faster if they have a map..so nits not an early slowdown but theres o reason it cant be made into a decent perk with the library of ways survivors can counteract it
-
@[Deleted User] said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/833236#Comment_833236
Oh right, you mean immunity to the debuffs.
Still though, so what?
Plenty of killers are making DL work very well in their matches.
And its worked for me at times too..but it still shouldnt be that weak and medkit got buffed indirectly nerfing slowdown builds..and I think killers deserve a good perk rework when the last few survivor perks were buffed through the ceiling..all I want is for this perk to be slightly more viable early game as that is the real problem with it
-
@Aneurysm said:
Plague and Freddy can mitigate or pretty much remove the obsession buff. Buffing the percentages wouldn't work because it would be too much combined with certain perks/builds, which is probably why they u-turned on the thana buff.
Hence why I added the cap..currently it can go higher than that..so technically I'm calling for a cap to its potential in exchange for a more fair build up rate..and only plague removes the obsession buff but only because she gives out insta heals anyway..it would not be too much because a brown toolbox bare can negate thana entirely..so I truley dont buy into that propaganda speech when the numbers prove otherwise

if you have issues with current nurse, you were never a good nurse to begin with. her blinks now require actually thinking and not just mindless no cd flying around. with that kind of opinion you probably relied on omegablink or multiple extra blinks. its clear as day
Let's make survivors have a six second cooldown on running after dropping a pallet..see how much fun you have

The Obsession doesn’t have immunity.
The killer just doesn’t want them dead early in the game, and will try to plan around that.
I think you’ll find that anyone using DL current iteration well still hook The Obsession twice if coming across them and then continue to slug them once they’re on their death hook (it’s what I do). They’re not immune, and it’s still places huge pressure on the entire team.
Plus even if the Obsession does die in an unplanned way, you’re forgetting that survivors being down a teammate still puts them at a disadvantage, even if they’re relieved of the DL slowdown.
Actually the obsession is immune..the obsession revieves no penalties from the perk..and yes I do as you describe to the obsession..however going after the obsession is still rough because you dont gain anything from winning the chase..that's why the added altruism buff is way overkill...a mediocre slowdown for making the obsession into survivor 2.0?
-
@Scal3r said:
I just wish the perk didn't get disabled when the obsession died, you shouldn't be able to get more stacks, but I don't think you should disable it
I'd still take that over the obsession getting super charged
-
@Lost_in_the_Fog said:

I don't think that's accurate. One survivor gets a buff to altruistic actions, but the other three get penalties to healing. The obsession might not necessarily be an altruistic player and if that's the case the team isn't necessarily in a better position.
Just like many perks in this game chance plays a big role. I see many people wanting perks buffed so there is a guaranteed effect. I don't think that's the best approach to things.
The issue is even if the onsessionnisnt healing hes still got immunity which is already huge, now add a Built in botany and it's just way too overkill
-
Lol in reality hawkins is broken for survibor..the loops look unsafe but there are several areas where they can be used together along with vaults to create some of the dumbest loops in dbd..not to mention they made it so easy to get use of bl on that map it's almost like haddonfield...and dont let me get started on the top floor and portal room gens..yikes..
-
@Artyomich said:
Doesn't need any buff but hey whatever makes my Freddy the God of slowing gens down even stronger.
Freddy can use it well but only because he has addons to synergize with it plus hes a good killer

how I would change it is increase the % of slow down by 1, also make it to where hooking your obsession to death WONT de-activate the perk it will be like STBFL where it will still be active but wont get any more stacks. that way you wont be afraid to kill your obsession.
Not too bad I'll admit but I'd much rather the perk be simple and clean..its dumb a survivor gains more than you do for the perk

- There is a reason for it. It keeps the Obsession engaged in the match actually doing something. It’s built in botany knowledge. That’s it. Relax.
- You get DL stacks from HOOKS (other than the Obsession), not injuries. It doesn’t matter how many times they heal.
- It synergises very well with other slow down perks, especially Thana. It doesn’t matter that the Obsession has an altruism bonus, in order for that to matter injured survivors need to ensure they find the Obsession, or the Obsession be available to run in and aid. Each down and hook immediately results in a Thana & DL stack.
- And the above is just ONE example of how DL can synergise with other perks. I think you just need to work on your creativity.
1..that makes no sense
2.your missing the entire point of what I said
3. No because all they end up doing is covering up for the downside of dying light and not even very well
4. You need to read and try to understand what I'm saying rather than jumping in without understanding what I'm saying
-

Can anyone and everyone agree that Freddy is hella annoying to go against it feels like he was a low tier to someone that can 4 k you in like 10 mins with so many snares it gets annoying especially when there running "Z" block. And i hit box glitch i had a friend that was like 14 meters away from him just get knocked out of no where!
Um..z block is useless..so..yeah..freddy is good now but we need more killers like him..not less

@humanbeing1704 said:
whats bad about the built in aultrism for the obession
1. theres no reason for it
2. It diminishes the perks effectiveness more than it should as it reduces pressure from injuries
3. It is clearly not made to be a stand alone perk but it doesnt synergize well with other slowdown perks as they often apply pressure through healing time

Yes

Those stats did not consider rank. If you took a look at the Nurse before at all ranks, she was the weakest killer by a large margin- something I think we can all agree was not the case. Meanwhile, if you were to check her stats in red ranks on PC, you'd see that she would average more than three kills per match. This is why we don't balance based on data alone, and also why we urge you not to draw conclusions from those stats.
Yes and i imagine nurses stars have plummeted recently...as you've seen people are far from happy with the result..now spirit is under fire and we fear the same will be done to her..and to top off the cake, doc is being "changed" but not being focused on improvement to him..which means theres a chance he will still be poor..but not the doctor anymore...like a poor replica of something cool
