Pretty much... Game is in a pretty good spot, so I kinda have an eye roll at most of the things ppl claim to be unbalanced. Keys and moris I can agree are BS, but you cant tell me its impossible for a killer to apply pressure and that only like 3 killers are "viable". I'm a fan of playing alot of various killers, many of them being low or mid tiers (if you give any value to tierlists to begin with...) and many people THINK what they're doing is the obsolute best they couldve POSSIBLY done, no matter what that is, and them losing must be a sign of imbalance. The killer holding W and vaulting every window a survivor vaults without ever trying to mindgame or split pressure... That guy is very likely going to see his own gameplay as playing perfectly and doesnt know how he could POSSIBLY improve to avoid the obvious "genrush" he's experiencing.
I can agree, gen times could be pretty BS in the past with suped up toolboxes and such...but nowdays, you dont really have much room for complaints.
The issue is the game is actually forcing survivors to learn and improve..up till recently nurse was the only killer who dod that and when she fell from graces..well..now killer isnt allowed to have anything that hints at real resistance

You said he wasn't overpowered but then said he has so much in his kit and all Freddy's use certain perks. I'll say it for you:. He is overpowered.
Teleporting across the map to remove objective progress is grossly unfair on top of it.
As much as I hate to say it, he either needs reworked again to be "fair" or BBQ and PGTW both needs nerfed. No more aura reading to be exact.
Lol yes the perk with 7 counters needs nerfing but ds and bt cant have any or its infair..sorry I just couldnt resist being amused XD

I wasn't intending to be mean spirited, however I am calloused from the traumatic events as a Nurse main and may be more aggressive in my arguments.
Didnt mean you lol, but I feel you as a nurse main

Well it's a Nurse thread discussing the rework. What else did you expect other than discourse about Nurse?
Yeah but theres discourse and then theres just plain mean spirited
-
Extremely overrated..I find it hilarious how people like me who called out his weaknesses day one were called crazy..well look at him now XDDD hes free gen time the killer..hes even worse than n8rse in that regard and that's an achievement

Maybe if more than 5 people tried to run differently when facing her they might actually live longer.
An overwhelming majority of survivors never tried to do anything different than run around pallets. They still do, but now I get punished extra hard for missing or getting ######### over by the game with the numerous bugs so it's fine now. They don't have to change anything and can just loop her like any other killer.
Because that's so fun.
Hes always doing this..best to ignore really

Spirit, doc, and oni are my faves..its quite exciting

I mean, there was a Thread a few weeks ago where someone said that she feels better now. But apparently this is not true.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1313012#Comment_1313012
I think saying that they did not test it is as wrong as it can be.
Also PTB Feedback is not really valuable.
They weren't delicate with a delicate character..that's the worst mistake you can make..they had made the mistake before and had to revert it..as for the ptb well..perceptions havent really changed..after all..here we are..in fact the push behind nurse is growing and rightly so, it's nice for people who dont play her sure..but they arnt all who matter in this case

^ basically this.
If you were able to use Omegablink or slap on multiple Blinks, it helped a lot. This is not possible anymore (or at least with a bigger downside), so players who relied on Add Ons dont play Nurse anymore.
The only thing that NEEDS fixing (and it is a really strong NEEDS, like, it should 100% happen) is the fixing of her Bugs. As long as her Bugs are not fixed, nobody can really do any statements regarding her Balance, because you cannot really apply this to a broken character.
Besides that, using the Silent Hill Chapter to justify a Nurse Buff is... questionable.
Her bugs do suck but they arnt around 100 percent of the time..just remember nobody is calling for omega blink nor does anyone want it..some of us never relied on it to win..some of us just hate how she feels and realise shes a free win to anyone who knows nurse even remotely
-
@LapisInfernalis said:
The reason you don't see many Nurse's now is more because many players relied on Omega Blink or liked to abuse it. Now with that gone, many stopped playing her. Yes with the recharging it is more difficult than before and Nurse has more counterplay now, but she is still very strong in the right hands. I have faced God like Nurses who decimate everyone even against really good Survivors.
Most Nurse players just didn't want to invest time in learning her again. It's like with those kids you stole their favourite toy from. I have seen Streamers reacting like that when she got changed. They did not even try to learn.
Funny..ice seen possibly the best nurse player in dbd who used her addonless like the legit good nurses did..say shes unfunny and destroyed by the changes..not everyone relied on omega blink nurse..messing with her base bot only made her harder but even weaker than her base self even with addons! Shes unrewarding now..almost every time you see a nurse now they lose..because she gives too much free downtime..its exactly why death slinger crumbles at high level play
-
Agreed. They should have tested that first..they flew off the handle with the change and ignored feedback even during the ptb..my biggest disappointment in the team to this day
-
@WRussoW said:
Ugh, I want people who say that the Nurse is SO strong play as her for a long period of time against viable red ranks.

Pardon..?

They did, while removing auto aim. That ended up buffing nurse to obscene levels which made her a target for nerfs. Maybe it was before your time?
Ah yes it was..well without auto aim she needs the lunge..its way too easy to avoid her now that theres more telegraphing
-
I just love how unique his map pressure tool is..hes constantly prowling about..much more interaction to be had
-
@smexxyhexxy said:
Agreed. She feels so clunky to use. Just take back the lunge range which no nurse main asked for, and give us back our 2 blinks. The (garbage) add-ons rework can stay if we get our base power back.
They didn't touch her lunge range, but the recharge is just aweful

Her first blink is recharged by the time she comes out of fatigue though. So you're still only waiting about 1 second for your second blink.
It's still longer than that even with double cd...I should know
-
@thrawn3054 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1307434#Comment_1307434
3 of those seconds were already there from the fatigue timer weren't they though? So didn't it literally add 1 second?
No it adds bare minimum 3..because she cant even begin to charge till her recharge is done
-
@coppersly said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1307386#Comment_1307386
The power bar was a sloppy addition by people who don't play her.
If they did it like PH's powerbar though, it might be different.
She was already given a cd and an over reliance on her power..a second cd was overkill
-
@thrawn3054 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1307414#Comment_1307414
Not really. Her fatigue is 2 seconds. If you use both blinks you add half a second a piece. It's like 4 seconds for both her blinks to come back. She's not as good, but the bar hardly killed her. Agreed that the majority of her addons are trash though.
Add 4 seconds to a gen every time she blinks..which she has to do to even move..then you start seeing why it's a problem especially with anti gen perks on the chopping block ..that's just from the recharge..not to mention blink wind up and travel time to boot..for killers it's all about details
-
@coppersly said:
The new map is GARBAGE to me for any killer besides Nurse or Hag. The hallways it forces you to walk down before you can leave the 2nd story or interior building is bleeeehhhhhhhhh. Nurse might actually have an advantage here if you can blink really well.
But yeah the rest of your post I agree with 100%
-She's weaker than ever
-She's more broken by bugs than ever
-She's the least fun she's ever been
-Her addon pass was a failure
And I'm EXTREMELY tired of ghost hits, dead zones, and having to run only 2 addons (CD) while the rest are useless or bugged to hell.
I'm just so sick of seeing my favorite killer reduced to stun and stress simulator
-
@thrawn3054 said:
Are you referring to the addition of the power bar or the various bugs that have cropped up? To me the power bar is honestly a nonissue. It would mess with the timing people used to have down for her. But by now they should have adapted. If you mean the bugs, then yes they need fixed.
The power bar was overkill..you get time to react as she reappears before she can even strike and her addons were butchered..the power bar killed her viability

You'll only be able to use it when they:
- Have Torment.
- Are on death hook.
So at best, you might save yourself a trip to a hook or avoid DS once.
This could be an interesting thing to add to other killers with similar prerequisites of course

Right mindless plays, like how a killer can just sit in front of the hooked survivor and guarantee they die. Funny how that works. Almost like there should be a perk that can give some kind of added protection so that you can actually save the guy in an otherwise unsave-able position.
Sure..up until it gets abused constantly as a free save perk..see that's the issue..these perks have a putpose..they're just lacking in downside

They changed BT to apply Deep Wounds specifically so that you can do it without the need of another survivor. We don't need to revert back to that.
Getting out of the TR of Doc is easier said than done. Most Doc's run Distressing, which makes their TR 40m. This besides the fact than unless you have Spine Chill you can't know for sure if you are out of his TR because there are a lot of fake TR effects with Madness. Therefore this is not always a valid option.
Failing 1 skill check reverts progress, so that 12 seconds is now 15. With Doc's skill checks being backwards or not always on the center of the screen it's actually not that hard to miss a skill check, especially if you are unsure if he is even near you.
The threat of Madness 3 is that it blocks specific actions, namely repairing and healing. Healing from injured to healthy makes sense, but blocking someone from being healed from dying does not as it just gives the killer free slugs. The fact you need another survivor to heal you off the ground is the deciding factor here, as you can still run from the killer and avoid death while injured, but in dying you are at the mercy of other survivors being able to help you.
Again tell me why Doc needs either of these things? You haven't done that. You've given me what to do against it, which are not really valid all things considered since several of the potential circumstances lead to you inevitably going down, or being completely unable to get back up. No other killer has the ability to completely block survivors from healing slugs. If they want to do that they need to actively stop you. Doc doesn't, he just needs to use Static Blast and Shock Therapy a few times and now there is no way to recover. It's just a losing situation that he gets for free.
Legion was able to cheese DW timer, but it's somehow okay that Doc can do it now? Sorry no, that shouldn't be a thing no matter what killer it is. There is no harm in pausing the DW timer when in Madness 3, or allowing survivors to heal slugs off the ground.
Except it removes all risk from already mindless plays but I know well enough you dont think that part through...

The game grants you the ability to unhook survivors while at Madness 3. Healing dying survivors is really no different.
Wrong
-
No...they made madness super easy to reset already..if doc has you in chase healing in front of him should be a death sentance..this is seriously not a helpful idea

Yeah, I had a larger previous post in the past, explaining what was wrong with current ebony, why it was wrong and how its impossible to nerf its current state(2 hook requirement is too much, 1 hook requirement is too little), which also got kinda ignored, but not as much as I initially expected. However, like I said, I am gonna move this to feedback and suggestions with a more in-depth reasoning. Just here to have some people quickly read the idea for the set up, which they can figure out quite quickly what the effects could be in game and then leave their opinion on whether they think its good or bad and what they think is good or bad about it.
For example: current ebony mori has the "weakness" that it requires 1 hook before you can kill someone. Which must definitely be acknowledged an actually is why I am tempted to say 3 tokens instead rather than 2.
It is rather interesting I'll admit it
-
Hmm..definitely better than the lazy "ideas" people usually have for the mori..I had a huge end game rework focused around moris and keys..but very few people really took the time to read it
-
Alright check this, I personally use bbq, ruin for convenience and pressure , distressing for big tr, and iron maiden as people actually use lockers vs doc sometimes and it can lead to good pressure but otherwise most perks will do , doc is less perk reliant than before so just prioritize what type of perks you value

Whats so wrong about that?
Stealth killers and legion follow more or less the same design.They have an easy time getting that first hit but downing them will be harder.
Freddy would have a harder time getting the first hit but the second one would be much easier.And that would only apply to survivors that managed to stay awake up until they get chased.
It would also add a bit more strategy to his decision making.Should he chase the injured survivor that is awake or the healthy one that is asleep.
No..giving survivors a free hand is not healthy, ..giving too many counters to what is supposed to be the power role is game burying levels of a bad idea...besides stealth killers for the most part are very weak as well, and even then their powers come from mind games and flanks..they're still underpowered so they arnt even a good example for balance
-
@OniWantsYourMacaroni said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1296074#Comment_1296074
But why is it like rewarding survivors for hiding?
He doesn't have proper counterplay.His only counterplay is staying awake,but even that won't stop you from falling asleep without freddy having to do anything for it.
I compared freddy and old legion because in both scenarios survivors aren't rewarded properly for making the right play.
What play? Your presumption is survivors should have 0 risk from freddys power until he hits you..which is rediculous in itself..he plays like most other killers and has similar counterplay..with the added staying awake to give you a head start..failure to apply this is on you
-
@OniWantsYourMacaroni said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1295745#Comment_1295745
It kind of is though.It feels a bit like old legion.Doesn't matter how much you made him miss his frenzy hit you will get hit at the end anyway and there is nothing you can really do against that.
Same like freddy,it doesn't matter how often you went to clocks/failed skill check/got help from your teammates you will still fall asleep when he's chasing you without him having to touch you at all.
Don't know why one shouldn't reward survivors for staying awake and not getting hit.
Thsts like rewarding survivors for hiding , not a good idea and no it's not the same..not even close, you dont get hurt unless he catches you...your not being passively harmed

But freddy is the only killer that doesn't even have to work in order to use his power.
Killers like Huntress,Oni or Nurse are strong and representing the killer role as the power role,but they have to work in order to apply their power.
Freddy can just wait a bit until the survivor falls asleep and then use his power on them.
I agree that the killer is supposed to be the power role but you should also work for your win.
Because then one could just say that old legion was totally ok the way he/she was.
Just because he doesnt have to put you to sleep is not a passive use of his power..it just gives you varying times of vulnerability to his powers which he does have to use himself..difference being your not always vulnerable to them
-
@OniWantsYourMacaroni said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1295662#Comment_1295662
My problem with freddy is that a survivor can go to a clock/fail a skill check/find an awake teammate but will still fall asleep in a chase withou the freddy having to hit that survivor.
It will happen sure..but the killer is the solo role..your not supposed to be able to evade him forever , the sense of impending struggle with the killer chases is the entire point of the power role
