How are you keeping your MMR “at top” if you are facing so many cheaters? Fast gens and doors immediately opening, I’m assuming that means a lot of escapes.
I forgot to mention. I started to play on ps5 like one week ago, before I was from ps4 with cross play off. Because you can't actually play with cross play off on ps5 because you find only players from ps5, I started playing with cross play on. First matches were ok, from like 3/4 days I'm facing only cheater. Before, never got problem, like gen were fast ok, but I've never seen something like this also against survs with literally 4 bnp, prove and hyperfocus (and trust me, I've met things like this and still won because I played sweaty). And I never saw people who literally disappear in front of my eyes or after they go behind a rock, and since I don't think that behind a rock there is a portal for Narnia, I think that it isn't normal.

I really wish I knew my MMR.
I prefer not playing. I'm at top MMR bro, I'm a ######### veteran of dbd and seeing the game in this state isn't acceptable. And I'm not going to low my MMR only because devs don't want to put a decent anticheat and care about their ######### game

If your numbers are correct, then you are encountering hackers. But I play PC and I definitely don't see hackers every match. I almost never see them in fact.
Bro, I will never say random bullshit. I say this because I'm ######### tired, it's not the first time. I need to play without cross play to face normal matches, the problem is that I'm from ps5 and if I set off cross play I find only players from ps5, and not from ps4. Fun, seriously.
I'm always the one who say "Yes, maybe is only a good player", but when someone disappear in front of you, go behind a rock and instantly disappear, or pop 2 gen in less than 20 seconds, I think this isn't possible without cheating. Oh, and 2 gen with deadlock, I use deadlock in every build because it's a must have in my opinion.

Bro chill out, no need to get nasty with the sarcasm. I was literally asking the question genuinely. You got so defensive. I never once said those things were “good” as you implied. You’re jumping to conclusions. I don’t know what 2019 you were playing but both tunneling and gen rushing were just as much a thing back then as they are today. For the vast majority of the player base tunneling/camping and all that jazz is not necessary to win, but at high mmr against actually equally good survivors in swf it is if you want to win, that’s just fact unless you’re on a couple exceptions like blight/nurse ect. You’re not winning against those level of players going for 12 hooks and hooking them each one at a time without them playing very badly. I’d love a better balanced game to where we could remove those strats entirely but that’s just not currently where the game exists yet. Hopefully in the future.
Bro, literally I thought you were the nasty one going with sarcasm, omg sorry.
Ok, you're right, at top mmr tunneling and camping are needed, but because genrush exist and genrush exist because of the excessive amount of gen speed boost that surv perks give. Devs don't understand that surv perks can be taken up to 4 times. 2 prove brake the game, 4 destroy it. Without prove thyself and maybe only with hyperfocus, gen go fast if survs play efficiently. As I said multiple times, me and my friends played like it is a normal match, so really good chases, gen were fast enough because they depended on how the teammates kept the killer in chase, and the killer didn't take it easy but without tunneling.
I'm at the top mmr, imagine how interested I am in demonstrating my killer skills. I just wanted to see what the game could be like without everything that is considered "rotten", ie tunneling and genrush, also because bot are boring. Chase always the same guy is boring for me, I never tunneled because it wasn't necessary, and as I will always say it doesn't even come naturally to me to tunnel for the simple fact that I had never needed it. Being genrushed is even more boring, in particular when the only skill that 90% of survs possess is pulling one pallet after another without even looping a minimum, perhaps not even lasting more than 20 seconds in chase, but winning all the same because they genrush.

So the conclusion you came to was that if both sides play inefficiently, ie no camping/tunneling/slugging/survivors slow on gens, that the game is balanced with one slow down perk?
So the conclusion I came is that you didn't understand a thing.
Playing inefficient is wasting time, and nobody wasted time in any game.
If you can't win without tunneling/genrush and you think that are the only way to play this game I think you lack in skill. Everyone complain about tunneling and genrush, then you arrive and say that tunneling, genrush and so on are good things. In online matches are needed, and 90% of players complain about it, so I wanted to see a possible way to balance the game. If you like being tunneled or tunnel in every game and live with the anxiety of being genrushed, ok, you're problem, but 99% of players would love to see the game back to 2019 state, where both genrush and tunneling didn't exist, or were very little present.

That's good at least you did something to have an opinion about... seriously
Also I've been wanting to try something similar
We are continuing to do this test, also to see how it goes with the worst killers and we are "studying" the various defects. This night with the knight we deduced that it's power is too much slow, because the time it takes for a guard to spawn is excessively long and, moreover, the guards are too slow to realize that a surv is in the patrolling area.
Tests like these need a lot of matches, it can be long. Even now we haven't seen many things probably, which we will probably realize after many other games.
If you find someone to do a test like, it could be fun, because it doesn't feel too much unfair.

@HugTechLover said:
Sorry but some games with friends does not deduce what you think it does… There are many more things to take into account.
I had a game the other day, 4 brand new parts, hyperfocus stakeout builds on all of them, and they only got me down to 3 gens.
I had another game against a team with normal builds. Maybe 1 or 2 proves, and they got to the end game much better than the genrush squad.
Both games, my gen perks were pain res and DMS.
It’s all about who you are facing, not as much what they bring.
You are right, but we noticed a big difference. My friends, like me with them, don't take it easy and they spared me nothing. We just noticed a huge difference compared to normal games. Without genrush perks, closing a chase quickly means for survs make an enormous effort to close the generators, while with long chases they have the way cleared.
In almost all my killer games, even with very short chases, survs I'm against make at least 2 generators in the first chase, sometimes I don't even have time to start the first chase and a gen is already done. I don't say that my opponents (my friends) didn't make a single gen, because they were very organised and made gens, at the same time organised saves and bodyblock.
So I know that games with friends aren't the same, but my friends didn't take it easy and they played against me as if I were a normal opponent, same thing I did against them. Whoever played better won, which often doesn't happen since many survs I face are carried by genrush.
And maybe you think that we did like 5 matches, we did too many matches, at least 20/30 matches for everyone, with different killers (except nurse). In fact, I did this post now because we wanted to do this test in order to see every slightest possibility, see every slightest difference perhaps between one map and another, between one killer and another in the same map. In short, every possible combination imaginable.
Last thing, I don't have any problems playing against genrushers, I'm a pretty good killer, but it's boring playing in sweaty ways only because if you don't kill faster your opponents close gens faster and you loose a game with 0 kills but maybe like 8 hooks. As I said, in our games the killer didn't tunnel/camp/slugged, so no sweaty plays. No genrush, no need to tunnel, camp ecc., and this is what I will love to see in every game, and before MMR dbd was balanced and fun, now this game can be very very frustrating.
Sorry again for my English, I'm Italian

So, I organised some private matches with my friends where we put some rules in order to make everyone enjoy their match. Except from some stupid rules such as "Don't use the same killer two times in a row", we used the following:
1) Both killer and surv cannot take red add on and objects;
2) Survivors cannot use gen speed perks, with the only exception of "Hyperfocus";
3) Killers can take only ONE perk that interacts with generators in ANY way;
4) NOED banned;
5) Keys banned;
6) No tunnel/camp/slug (except when needed);
7) No Nurse;
The results were the following:
When chases were fast, survivors had more difficult to do gens and, without tunneling and camping, the killer could've win easily or at "medium difficulty", with short/medium chases
When chases last long, gen popped in a reasonable time, where the killer is punished for long chase but don't loose instantly if he doesn't camp/tunnel.
So, what did we deduce from this test? That this game, without gen speed perks and with max one slowdown perk is balanced also with D tier killer. As always, tunneling is born to counter genrush, if genrush isn't in the game killer doesn't have to tunnel to win. I can't wait to read who says "But killer will tunnel also if you fix genrush 1!1!1!1!" yes, because you can't fix one without fixing the other one at the same time.
So, if the game wants to proceed in an healthy way, on a balanced direction, remove gen speed perks, allow killers to take only one perk that interacts with gens, and find some ways to prevent tunnel and camp. I have some ideas, for example base kit barbecue for killer, to consent killer to go find the next victim easily, a base kit reassurance that work only if the killer is camping and not defending/chasing near the hook, maybe in combo with the same mechanic of pyramid head cages, that if the killer is camping the survivor teleport away.
So, this is my opinion, I tested the game without gen speed perks, without tunneling, camping and slugging and with only one slowdown perk for killer, and the results was that if the killer does short/medium chases doesn't get genrushed, but at the same time survivors that keep the killer in chase for a long time can make gens easier but without destroying the killer without a chance of recovery.
Sorry for my English, I'm Italian.
I forgot to mention without any offerings, because buffed luck and potentially map offering could've unbalance the results.

This game is survivor sided and yet you want killers and their perks nerfed? After your wishes are granted, what perks will you complain about next? Killer aura perks? Ha ha don't make me laugh. I can't wait for 2023 and what their new complaints are going to be.
It's fun to read that there are lots of people who don't see this evidence. Survs only want to have easy win. "Eruption op" yesterday I faced some killers with eruption, ez win 0/4, or 1/4. Genrushed like #########, and I was with a friend so not a full swf but a 2 people swf. This game can be broken because Devs think that only one surv take like prove thyself, so you have only one prove per match, but swf bring at least 2 prove thyself, also hyperfocus, and the "destroyed and useless" dh that is stronger than before but now require a brain to be used. At low mmr, killer is easy because there are survivors who doesn't even know how to walk, but at top mmr it's only pain. But hey, nerf eruption and now give survs infinity base kit unbreakable. Next we want a shotgun for survivors to kill the killers.

@RakimSockem said:
So remember back when there was this big hoopla about how 40 perks were being changed and this was supposed to shake up the meta and make different playstyles come to light.....
Yeah that happened on the survivor side, but the killer meta changed very little (if at all).
95% of my games yesterday against various killers were "Eruption, Call of Brine, Pain Res, + insert aura reading perk here". Now while you can argue that "technically" it's a meta change because Eruption wasn't used before the buff, it has the same affect as the old meta perks so the playstyle is the same, except more boring now because killers break chase every 15 seconds to kick a gen.
Meanwhile when I look at survivor perks in most games, there's a huge variety of perks being used and different playstyles at play. Some people go for extreme healing builds. Some go for gen rush (I find those boring), some go for stealth, while a few stick with the old meta (Dead hard, CoH, etc)
So I would love to see an ACTUAL change to killer meta perks to the point where I don't have to run into the same boring perks 30 games in a row
You know, the meta will change when devs fix the game in a way to prevent both tunneling and genrush. I run 4 slowdown perks because it's a must on top mmr, you know when you find every match at least 2 prove and hyperfocus it's quite impossible winning without slowdowns. So, you ask when killer meta will change, and when surv meta will change? All matches the same perks: prove thyself, hyperfocus, dead hard, off the records, maybe circle of healing, maybe ds but it's rare now because it isn't a shield anymore.
The meta will change when Devs understand that tunneling/camping is boring for both parts, but are necessary because being genrushed is even more boring. So, you know, remove gen speed perks would be very healthy for the game, or nerf them to the ground because devs doesn't understand that surv perks can be brought up to 4 times per match, and this break the game. Also, if they remove gen speed perks, slowdown perks can remain but you can bring only 1 slowdown per match (maybe Devs put "perk categories" for killer and you can bring only one slowdown per match, and maybe rework perks in a way that can create synergy between each perks). I say that gen slowdown must remain because toolboxes will never be removed, so you need to have at least a counter to strong toolboxes, bnp and so on.
After preventing genrush, you need to fix tunneling so maybe put a bbq basekit, to see the position of a random survivor so you have an idea where is the next objective, a reassurance base kit that work only if the killer is camping and doesn't work if the killer is defending the hook/chasing someone near the hook. If the killer is camping, a free deliverance that can combo with the base kit borrowed time. You know, things base kit that prevent tunneling/camping and at the same time incentives mixed hooks in an healthy way.
Maybe also some new mechanic, such us maybe a "panic" mechanic when survivors do gen faster when someone is dead but, at the same time, there are more skill checks and are smaller than normal. For example, one survivor is dead, the other survivors are 2.5% faster with gens (I say random numbers) but, at the same time, skill checks are 5% smaller and, if you miss the skill check, the gen loose like 2.5% more of progression, like they think "No, somebody's dead, let's get moving". This is an idea I just thought now, so I don't know really if it will be good or bad, but with gen regression perks nerfed/removed I think this will be good. Also, maybe put more perks for chase and stealth, so the game will not be a gen repair simulator but it would be more an "hide, seek and ######### run".
This is my opinion, hope to be clear and sorry for my English, I'm Italian.

Sure. Mmr sometimes screws up heavily.
Yesterday I played survivor with said group and we got 130h legion. He was good for his hours but still. I was the person with least skill in that lobby (as stated 1400hrs). You can imagine the kind of stomp he got (no toxicity - we don't do that. He just lost hard). But that's not our fault. MM sometimes really does a bad job.
Obviously no mercy for anyone but 0 toxicity. Toxicity only if my opponents are toxic. I remember a spirit who probably had its first match against me and my premade, poor thing he got stomped but it's not our fault. In my opinion they have to get rid of mmr and put like an arena system like clash royal (or something like that), so you would meet more easily survs and killers of your level.
-
@Gandor said:
1, MMR does exist, but it's very... Volatile. If it finds out game immediately, it can mean you were autofilled to someone's lobby (so you are in wrong group). If you wait for long time, it means MMR will be turned off just so that you get any match at this point (so again unfair game). If you wait for say 20s, you should get your game that should be pretty fair. Also if you are huge MMR on other killers and then unlock new killer, you will not start from "0" MMR. It was said you will start with your average MMR minus something - so that you don't play with total beginers.
2, When I play (only SWF now, soloQ is so bad I refuse to touch it any more), I play with a guy with almost 9300 hours and skill to match that. There are other people there with 5K and 3K hours and I myself have about 1400 hours (which were spent with these guys from the beginning of my games) - meaning I think I am pretty good survivor (very far from godlike, sure I still make a ton of mistakes, but I know how to loop and already have pretty good game sense). I don't mean to boast, but you hint at me that I am some kind of noob. That is just not truth
Oh sorry for that, I never meant to say that you're noob. I don't know you and I don't see how you play, so you know it's impossible to say this. I'm a good survivor too, I alway play swf because, as you said, soloq is only pain and also if I'm good in chase (I'm not godlike because I still do mistakes, but I'm not crap).
About the MMR thing, ok, maybe it's supposed to be balanced between every killer MMR, but it isn't fair that I meet the same people I meet with my "top mmr killer" when I play a killer that came out the day before. You know, I didn't play the knight already because I don't have much free time, but it wouldn't be so fun to meet top mmr survivors with a C-tier killer that I don't know how to play, don't you think?

I generally win with wesker or twins. Usually win on spirit or plague, do good on nurse if I play her more then 1x per weak, do good on hag, cannibal, dredge and legion, do OK on ghostface, doctor, huntress, wraith and clown (balanced 50%) and do really bad on pig, deathslinger, oni and billy. This should show that I don't play 1 or 2 killers. Also I see almost no difference between SWF and solo. But I don't camp or tunnel on any of my killers - so they don't need to cooperate really well to get out of those situations.
Also every killer has his own MMR, so after a few games I should have 50% winrate. But that's not the case. Overall I win much more then I loose. Also I swapped to killer after being totally frustrated from survivor plays. Killer is much less stressful for me at least. Also much easier for me at least.
Oh and, with "MMR doesn't exist" I mean that MMR difference between killers doesn't exist. You have the same MMR with, for example, nurse and blight and maybe you never played blight but you're main nurse who win every game with nurse

Bro, trust me, MMR doesn't exist. I remember when Wesker came out I did a test: I searched a lobby with pyramid (my favourite killer, the one which in theory has the highest mmr because I rarely loose with him) and then I searched a lobby with Wesker: same survs. I did this test for like some days, and it didn't change anything. I meet the same survivors also with killers that I never touched such as trapper.
I don't know what kind of swf you meet, because really I meet every game really organised swf with genrush builds.

if you're noob you can still win as survivor.
Yet some people still die every game, how?
Every game? Lol, I don't know which game you play, but trust me, not every game. With my swf, at least 3 escaped every game, I say 3 because we are a 3 people swf so you know, the random is noob or strong. One of my friends is noob, really, he can't do a gen without missing at least 2/3 skill check, and in chase bro it's disgusting, really. And we still managed to escape in 3 or 4. If this game isn't noob friendly, why he managed to escape and he didn't died? Because he used a genrush build, prove thyself, help genrush. And in the end he managed everytime to get out. Do you understand what I mean? Also if he is noob ok 2 out of 3 are strong (me and my other friend) but he is disgustingly noob, he doesn't deserve to escape and in the end he manage every time to escape with us. It doesn't matter what is your skill level, if you manage to genrush you win. Easy, also if you can't keep the killer in chase. Before this, if someone didn't know how to chase a killer he died, he could've try to genrush but he die in the end, now also if you last 20 seconds the other survs manage to do gens. I remember a match in particular with the spirit, like 15 seconds to the first gen, I didn't find a surv yet and they managed to do a gen in 15 seconds. I still won that game, but because I played super sweaty, tunnel and camp all the game. Before was unnecessary tunnel and camp, I would love to see dbd in 2019 condition, when wasn't this frustrating and unbalanced

Today I played against 2 BNP's and 3rd just commodius toolbox. On badham. I had no problem getting my 4k. Sure enough, I played Wesker, but I don't use any better then green addons. How is it possible if survivors can noob win just by staying on gens? Sounds like some kind of miracle.
Or the game is in fact heavily killer sided. 4 out of 5 games I do win. 0 camp or tunnel. Sounds a lot different to what you are saying.
I forgot to mention swf. Obviously there are exception but I don't think that I am the only one who meet 9 match out of 10 3/4 people swf. I had my win with genrush, don't misunderstand me, but saying the game is killer sided only because you win lots of game is not telling the truth. I'm main pyramid head, when I play him it's another thing. Probably I lost like 3 matches with ph, maybe you win because you play killer that you know well? Don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying you're noob, but maybe you're just good with you're favorite killer and it's obvious that if you play you're favorite killer it's easier to win.

More boring = more interesting? How'd you figure that?
Getting millisecond and millimetre precise timing and distances down might be "skilful", but there's nothing 'interesting' about running around the same loop precisely 47 times before you need to drop the pallet because you know the 48th time the killer will be able to hit you.
You know, years ago the game was chase oriented, and in fact genrush wasn't a problem and if I lost a game was only because I met skillful survivors that kept me in chase for lots of time. Now you can spam pallet, spam second chance and genrush perks and you win also if you last 20 seconds in chase.
This game doesn't reward skill anymore, if you're noob you can still win as survivor. You can throw pallet and rush gens with hyperfocus and prove thyself and you still win. It's not surv sided, it's noob sided because this game reward who doesn't want to learn how to chase, how to keep killer for the whole game and, at the same time, doesn't reward the killer for ultrashort chases. If the game focus on chases instead of gen, trust me that in particular veteran will be happy, also because you can run every type of build without getting genrushed

So extremely survivor sided, that I win 80% of all my killer games. Makes you wonder what they are doing wrong :D
You can say this, but I don't think your saying the truth. Because if it's true, your not on high MMR, or maybe you play only nurse, blight and spirit.
And also if it's true and you play every killer in the game, you can't negate that maps are a big problem in dbd, always advantage survivors in any way possible. I think autoeven is the more balanced, I think but I don't know honestly. I win lots of my games as killer, but I recognise that maps in this game are a problem.

I have chases shorter than 30 seconds but by the time I get 1 or 2 downs,at least 3 gens pop.
The killer cant be at more places in the same time and for most killers its almost impossible to deal with it.
No wonder camping and tunneling is so effective.
Survivors dont do anything else besides gens because they dont have to,and that's a problem as gens are being repaired faster than a killer can pressure them.
The only way a killer can deal with it is if survivors make a lot of mistakes,stack gen regression perks,have a quick and fast first chase.
Tunnel and camp. Easy. They rush gen? You rush kills

Damn, bro. Calm down. That's a videogame, not a brain surgery procedure.
If the game was not a genrush simulator, just remove gen rush and gen regression perks and buff chase perks. Easy. You will be forced to pressure gens without relying on a perk to carry your gameplay.
I'm super calm bro, sorry if it seemed like I was salty/toxic or what.
For the genrush, bro is what I say everytime. In my opinion, remove genrush perks, maybe slowdown perks could remain but as a guy said in another post, they could make perk category and like you can take only one slowdown perk and make more combos for chase. That's what I would personally do to balance the game, also remove bnp or whatever could be abused and taken like 4 times and break the game, or put a "meritocracy system" where you take with yourself something strong? You're vulnerable all the match.

Oh, okay! So, what about revert all the 6.1.0 changes? Chases were longer before it. If you want chase adrenaline, let's give to you! Old Dead Hard, Old DS, Old Vaulting Speed Build, More distance after hit, more time to killers clean their weapons. Let's give you the challenge you want.
Of course you don't understand what I say. Old dh was a #########, unbalanced as ######### and didn't need any skill to be used, now new dh needs skill to be used. 99% of survs perks doesn't need skill to be used and can be abused. Killer perks, instead, have a condition: eruption needs you to down someone to be used, pain resonance same, hex totem can be broken and cannot be reactivated (boon, instead, can be used indefinitely). Now you understand? People run genrush perks because doesn't need skill, to make the game a gen repairing simulator, and cry about gen regression perks. This game was born to be a survival horror, not a ######### repair gen simulator.
-
@Ricardo170373 said:
what i supposed to do anything about this perk ? Im playing solo and i never can do nothing against this perk
To activate eruption, you have to down someone. So you know, is not that op and doesn't counter at all genrush. But everyone knows how survivors think: when something doesn't make thing easy for them they cry for nerf. Do you want a repair gen simulator or a ######### survival horror game?

it's only kinda true for green glyphs (2 seconds killer, 8 seconds survivor)
For red glyphs it's 1.5 seconds killer, 3 seconds survivor
And yet, while killer is waiting 8 seconds for survivor to do green glyph, 3 other survivors won't stop what they're doing. and 8 seconds is A LOT of time for the killer
upd. as for "survivor only" glyphs, the longest is yellow glyph, 5 seconds
I didn't know, I thought that both killers and survs glyphs took the same amount of time. But as you said, survivors won't stop, so why I have to wait for the glyph? It doesn't make sense and I don't understand why lots of people wait or they expect people to do it.

No lol survivors make up 70% of the playerbase because it's a 4v1. There is inherently more survivors than killers. That's just how the game is designed lol
No, because lots of people played both roles before mmr. Of course there will be more surv mains than killer mains, but maybe only because they play dbd only with friends, now lots of killer mains became surv mains (70% of the player base are surv mains, isn't this too much in your opinion? And isn't it obvious why this happen?) because, as I said in the previous post, killer is too much stressful and you have to play in awful way to win in top mmr (I don't like to tunnel/camp, but I like to win so you know, but it's stressful and, honestly, I don't like to tunnel every ######### game, also if I win)

Not really. A lot of people play games to be social even if its just with 1 friend which survivor offers. I only play killer if no one else is playing with me.
Trust me bro, I have friends that play both roles that first became surv main (from playing both roles) and now stopped playing because playing only surv it's boring, also if it's with friends. If I play dbd, I play surv in swf, because killer is too much stressful and I hate to tunnel/camp (I do that because it's the only strategy allowed in top MMR)

Killer does a glyph in less than 2 seconds and does so when they have time or happen to pass by, survivor spends an average(!) of 10 seconds per glyph. The only times they casually walk by and are able to spend time on it, is if they have a team that does gens while they do so or all gens are already finished. Any other time, and its gaining the killer bonus time. The killer doesnt really lose any time realistically.
So yeah, best thing you can do is wait out the glyph a little, or make sure you hook them next to the glyph and dont tunnel.
Mh, I don't think I will do that, at least if the game doesn't stop while I do a glyph when I play killer. When you play killer, 2 seconds are important because can change the entire match, so why do I have to wait for survs to do the glyph? You do that if you have time.
And 10 seconds, seriously? Never noticed the difference in time, maybe because usually I skip these challenges.

It is almost as if they need to make the 4 survivor players have more fun as opposed to the single Killer player.
We can argue/discuss the degree but obviously survivors need to be slightly over-tuned as they constitute 70% of the player-base.
Its 70% of the game because killer is too annoying to play. Lots of killer mains became surv mains because surv is chill and killer frustrating. If the game come back to 2019 state probably there will be more killer mains, or more people who play both equally.

idc if you tunnel, camp, spin, knod, devour hope noed....if you see a survivor doing a glyph let them finish before you hit them....
So when the killer is doing a glyph the game stop, survivors drop gens, healing or whatever their doing only because the killer must do a glyph. It doesn't make sense what you say. You do the glyph if you have time, because I bet if you see the killer doing a glyph you run away from him, you don't wait.

I loaded up a custom game and counted, it's spawning literally 30+ pallets every game. This can't possibly be intended. It's like it is spawning every possible pallet instead of 1 or the other.
Because survivors have too many disadvantages and they need loads of pallets because poor things play a killer side game. Just kidding. Devs put too many pallets because they doesn't want survs to use their brains to keep the killer in chase. Now chase are pallet, pallet, pallet, pallet and you win. Before this chase needed a brain to be done

Honestly, im be very, very frustrating with this game, because, when i play survivor, my teammates are dumb and killers are tryhard, slug, 25% escape rate. so, when i play as killer, i go against brand new parts, toolboxes, offerings, squads, gens flying and i cant do anything in my matches, this games at this point is so frustrating, to the both sides. How people can play this and have fun? i always have angry and sad, after 4 years im really thinking stop play this game, unfortunately
If you play survivor in soloq it's very frustrating, because your teammates are lot of times idiot who waste time. Lot of times I carried a match and died in the end because my random teammates can't do a ######### save first hook.
Killer is the most frustrating part, and that's because you tunnel and camp, because if you don't do that you're gens fly, if you don't rush kills you loose. Tunnel isn't fun, I know, but if you want to win it's the only viable option, tunnel since the very beginning of the match, don't listen whoever says "Oh you tunnel at 5 gens, you're bad" because they're the same who rush gens with prove, bnp and hyperfocus. Tunnel and camp if you want to win and run perks based on your play style, also noed if you need it, you're not noob if you run noed, remember that.
-
@TheMetalOne said:
How many of these perks do you use in your own build, and which are they?
I run Jolt + Pain Resonance on my M1 killers, which doesn't work so well on some other killers I play. Just looking for ideas for things to use, basically.
Before genrush wasn't this enormous problem I used pain resonance + dms and deadlock. Now I recommend to focus on chase build and use deadlock, pain resonance won't change anything because 15% for survivors is like 3 seconds. Last time I played I used pyramid with lethal pursuer, no way out, deadlock and I'm all ears, but it depends on which killer you want to use. Since you said m1 killer, I recommend for them to run noed and maybe force penance because their vulnerable to bodyblock. Maybe if you want I can recommend eruption as a gen defence perk, also because with the new perk of the knight it would be good because you kick a gen and potentially instant go for a chase and maybe down someone so eruption pop the gen.

Returned after 2 months not playing this game since the huge patch. Played 3 games and got tunneled all the way until death.
Is this fun?
For killers I bet it is. This game will be dead soon.
gg ez
Because being genrushed is fun? I don't like tunneling/camping at all, but I want to win and if I need to tunnel/camp, I do that. As if survivors cared something not to genrush because otherwise it wouldn't be fun for the killer. Both genrush and tunneling are problems, but community is half blind and only see tunneling as a problem, but don't see that is necessary because if survivors rush gens, killer have to rush kills. If you fix genrush you fix tunneling, but when I say this everytime people answer me like I'm saying blasphemy. At this point I assume that survivors are scared about genrush being fixed because they need to learn to loop.

People started to tunnel most in patch 6.1. This was the patch where killers were having 4K every single game for first few days. The amount of camping and tunneling was way higher then in 6.0 as opposed to way lower (because you did not need to do that). Thankfully 6.2 came with 10s basekit BT and with reassurence which at least limited camp/tunnel viability so camping and tunneling is lower then in 6.1 (but I still feel it's higher then in 6.0 where you had less time for it because gens too 80s).
Meaning - killers will tunnel as long as it's the best thing they can do. If you only change generator speed to 120s, you will see virtually all killers camp - because it will just autowin their game without any effort. On the other hand if the only change was to make hook stages take 90s instead of 60s, there will be virtually (not literally, because some people do it to spite others instead of trying to win) no camping - because this will be so punishing tactics, that very few people will even try them. Same way with tunneling - make survivor run at 200% speed for 10s after unhook and the amount of tunneling will decrease rapidly, because killer will need to find that survivor AGAIN after unhook. (and FYI these were examples to illustrate the point. I am not advocating for such extreme times or speeds)
I know killer will tunnel as long as it's the best they can do, but if you find a way to fix genrush and punish tunneling, killer doesn't have any reason to tunnel. Devs now only punish tunneling, but don't do anything for genrush. If they continue this way, killer will tunnel and camp, but if they find a way to fix genrush and, at the same time, make tunneling impossible to do without seeing gens popping in 10 seconds, maybe killer will still tunneling, but they will lose all gens for 1 max 2 kills. For camping I had an idea: a basekit reassurance, that makes the entity go slower when the killer is near the hook (but if his chasing someone near the hook doesn't activate, because maybe the killer is defending it). At the same time, they can put something that prevent survivor from rushing gens, so killer can leave the hook and be oppressive, not just camp to make the hooked guy second stage and tunnel him. Now tunneling is the best strategy only because genrush exist, and you don't have the time to chase someone. Increasing gen times will not fix the problem, because they make prove thyself a must have, they need to work around genrush perks (and also bnp and toolboxes, I forgot to mention them in my previous post).
The prove that genrush and tunneling go on the same way (I mean, if you fix genrush you fix tunneling) is that before genrush problem I never tunneled in my life, never camped and I'm not the only one. Lot of times I ended matches with 5/4 gens to do because I ######### destroyed every surv in chase, like 20 seconds of chase. Now I still do 20 seconds chases, but gen pops in 20 seconds so you know, it's hard to win without tunneling someone out.

@VaporLion said:
"If you fix Genrush, tunneling isn't necessary no?"
as long as tunneling gives you an advantage, killers will use it at their desposal. so that doesnt fix it in any way whatsoever.
Also im not sure what genrush perks you are referring to because honestly i think that they are generally quite bad with the only exception being prove thyself. and i think prove being gone but having 80s gens would actually be a buff to survivors.
I agree that hitboxes are weird particularly for huntress and wesker. The main problem i see with this is the fact that you cant see a ping indicator in lobbys anymore. this makes it that you have to live with these really bad hit validations in some games. this and also that the matchmaking doesnt really give priority to your own region.
Replays would be nice but i doubt this will address cheating very well. What i could think of is that there could be messurements from the game that check if the killer or survivor is doing something impossible and therefore will get automatically disconnected. ( f.e. movementspeed, itemaddons ). Best would be an anti cheat system that detects if external programs are accessing dbd files.
In matches without prove thyself/hyperfocus I win without difficulty, but it's 1 match out of 20. Some years ago genrush wasn't a problem, so I don't know why now it's a problem. Also, I don't know why prove thyself is used this much in high mmr and it's one of the oldest perk in the game, and I started see it after some months of mmr. And as I said, killer tunnel because gens are too fast, so if you find a way to fix gen speed and at the same time prevent heavy tunneling, I don't see why killer have to tunnel. If both objective can be done without rushing them, why you have to rush them? Also, I think that if a killer see that if he tunnel he can't defend gens efficiently because tunneling is punished and, at the same time, if he can press gen and survivor in chase without seeing a gen done every 10 seconds, he think "Oh tunneling isn't necessary anymore, maybe I can be oppressive without tunneling such as in 2019". Because before MMR, if you were oppressive you didn't need to tunnel, now you can be oppressive but without tunneling/camping you rarely win in high mmr.
Hitboxes are weird in general in my opinion, also with for example pyramid head the punishment require too much precision, that it's a good thing don't misunderstand me, but when pyramid head came out he was really good and fun to play, because you had much more freedom of movement in using punishment. Nemesis it's the worst, the tentacle is the size of a toothpick. The huntress sometimes throw a ######### refrigerator, and Wesker lot of times miss the hit also with a survivor in front of him. Hitboxes aren't really good.
For cheating, the replay system is a way to prove that someone was cheating, and for the "server improvement" I intended everything you said. It isn't difficult to put a thing (I don't know the name) that check if a player is moving faster, repairing faster, destroying thing faster etc. I don't know why Devs didn't put it already, because cheaters problem has been around for months no?
-
@Roaroftime said:
You lost me at "If you can fix Genrush, tunnelling isn't necessary no?" killers would tunnel if gens took 120 seconds each, the game kill always be killer sided.
Mh no, never tunneled before genrush was actually a problem, and I'm not the only one. Before Genrush problem, tunneling wasn't necessary so you met very few people who tunneled. And you can read all the post, so you can see that I said "instead of adding Genrush perks, they can rework Genrush perks in an anti-tunneling way, so killer will stop to tunnel because it's unnecessary and it's punished". No? Obviously there will be poeple who still tunnel, but they may have an hell of a match because of the punishment of tunneling if it isn't unnecessary because both killer and surv objective can be done efficiently without "rushing tactics" (tunneling rush kills, Genrush rush gens).

@egg_ said:
There is no correlation
Killers call generating what most times is the result of their own misplays (commonly referred to as "the game is survivor sided 😢"). And killers camp and tunnel even if the game is going clearly in their favor already
I'm killer main, I play both side but I prefer killer. Trust me, sometimes I tried to camp/tunnel only at 3 gens, it ended up losing/having bad time to win because anybody was dead and the gen were a lot faster. If someone camp and tunnel at 5 gens is only because he/she knows very well that if she doesn't do that the game will be hard/impossible to win.
Genrush and camping/tunneling are the same thing: doing the objective as fast as possible to win, but the first is ok, the seconds are toxic behaviour for the community. Why? People didn't tunnel years ago because genrush wasn't a problem, now people tunnel because isn't fun to "play fair" and loose because you don't have the time to chase someone else.
I'm a veteran of the game, tunneling doesn't come naturally to me, because in the first years of playing I didn't need it. Now, even with chases lasting about 20 seconds, you can't keep up with the gen.

The issue I see with Wesker is, if they increase his hitbox grab, he's going to be insufferable. Unless it's very finely tuned, I don't want another killer (Nurse, certain types of Blight) that is uncounterable, and I'm just there for his fun. If he's on the level of Demo, which I think he already is, he can be a very good, balanced A tier. Buff him too much and you have another killer people will throw game against.
About the infection with uroboros thing, I've got mixed feelings about it. On one hand, it's reasonably "easy" to remove as the spray has 2 charges, so the impact isn't huge. On the other hand, the effect of it is so aggravating that if you allow it to consistently affect survivors it's just broken. 8% slower movement speed is HUGE. Especially if you're getting tunnelled it's just pointlessly strong.
Bro, both nurse and blight aren't uncounterable, you just have to learn how to counter and it's not like I can give you advice for example "If you see that she's blinking, then do this". You have to predict the predict, mind game. And the problem with the hitbox is that a lot of times also if the surv is in front of you, you don't grab him. As it is now it's c tier, in ptb was A tier. Doesn't have any map control and the infection is pretty useless, and also the power lots of times cannot be used because of some loops and you can only go for the m1.
And people already throw the game away with every killer, so it's not the problem of Nurse, blight ecc., it's the problem that lots of main survs want only easy game. This morning I did 2 matches, 3 rage quit and a guy killed himself first hook, so the problem is that surv mains do this for unknown reasons, or only because they want to see every killer nerfed to the ground at the point that there isn't any killer enjoyable.

The dash has ######### hitbox (a lot of times I dashed to a surv in front of me and I didn't grab him, literally in front of me) and has some severe bug (for example if you dash to a surv while he is throwing a pallet, you can bounce away). Wesker must be fixed

Give Wesker a score number (from 1 to 10) for both sides. 1 is the lowest point and 10 the best, 5 is middle (okay, don't mind, etc.). If you can give reasons why you give such score it would be great!
It would be a 10, but it's 0. The dash doesn't ######### grab the survivors, 99% of the time you miss them also if their in front of you. They need to fix the hitbox. Also, sometimes I bounced away if a survivor used a pallet while I dashed. Wesker doesn't need a buff, he needs to be fixed.

Aww thanks <3
Your idea isn't bad, btw, but everytime something similar is suggested, the people here (maybe rightly?) say "oh, so should I get punished for playing good?" or "oh, should the killer be rewarded for playing poorly/losing?". Its a tough beast to tame, thats for sure, with many aspects to consider and both sides to be taken into account.
But at the end of the day, if we find some kind of system that leads to lesser amounts of tunneling and more fun games, everybody wins, right?
You're 100% right bro, less tunnel and less genrush will lead the game to a really healthy state like some years ago, when genrush wasn't a problem and you rarely got tunneled.

Trust me, 20 seconds of buffed haste (now 10%, before 7%) and endurance is insane. Survs, in particular teams, will bring bt a lot more, trust me. 20 seconds of 10% haste and endurance are insane

20 seconds bt, + haste 10% for 20 seconds. And it's only an idea, it might be tested to see if it's good or not, so you know I said the first thing I had in my mind

I never tunneled in my life, and also tunneler don't like to tunnel, they do this to win the match, but if it isn't unnecessary they wouldn't tunnel. If you find way to make the game countering tunneling, without punishing it, and at the same time reward the killer for mixed hooks and give killer the possibilities to make mixed hooks without see every ######### gen in the map done, in max one or two months you will see that find someone who tunnel is very hard. And, if Devs find a way to punish tunneling in a healthy way, probably who tunnel don't make more than 1 kill.
