That would be insanely overpowered, especially with SWF.

Cooldown and tokens. Maybe like the current version mixed with Distortion's mechanics

  • Legion is a little underpowered and really can't get the same value as other Killers unless you specialize in them. Fortunately I do. I'm at Rank 2 on Legion and they're the only Killer I play on a regular basis. I do really well because I used to be a hardcore Survivor main so Leg's mobility is very strong in my hands.

Legion's biggest strength is their Killer instinct tracking. There's no counterplay to it and its much more subtle than a Killer like Plague or Doctor. Most people aren't even super aware that Legion knows where they are (especially when you run Monitor to get up to 56m of info). You can make a lot of plays with that knowledge. Like hitting someone in the middle of the map and realizing that someone is heading for the unhook so you can leave the current chase and intercept the unhook. Or hitting someone and using the tracking to figure out which generator is being worked on. Or heck even just hitting a Survivor with Frenzy near the end of the game so you have an idea where the last person is because they'll probably hide in a locker to avoid BBQ. Or hitting someone that hasn't been hooked you to get info on someone that's on death hook. So many options its crazy what you can come up with.

And another "How to make DS trash"-Thread. Pretty good job so far.

Or give Decisive the same effect but give it a condition like Second Wind or Deliverance. So you have to earn it instead of just passively having it

Like you have to save or take a protection hit for the Obsession. With DS reducing your odds of being the obsession at the start

  • @Tarvesh said:

Add in "Decisive Strike deactivates if another survivor is hooked while Decisive Strike is active" and you got yourself a deal.

It's not an anti-tunnel perk if it can still punish the killer for not tunneling.

Heck I'd even settle for "If a teammate uses Decisive, all other active Decisives are deactivated"

Yes, I've been triple DS'd at the exit gates before and wanted to scream

  • Legion can't see scratches in Feral Frenzy. They can just see them during the fatigue animation so now when you cancel your power the Survivor you were chasing doesn't have 4 seconds of Dance With Me.

  • It might help for mid range shots. But if it's a snipe shot the lingering effect might end. We'll have to see how generous it feels in game

    Stop telling BS on SWF!

Yes, SWF can be a problem, especially if you use a HEX. But most SWF are not a depip squad. Most of the times a good killer will kill most of them if not all.

I just played against a SWF on Crotus Pren as Doc (Rank 1 btw) and I won with a 4K. They screwed up with a 3 gen and I had PGTW. There was no coming back from that.

Sure it's in the SV's hands to dominate or not. But mostly their mistakes stack up and they will lose.

But against a very good team, even the best Killers will struggle. No denying that.

That three gen was the only reason you won. Crotus Penn is an awful map for Doctor normally. It wasn't necessarily that you played super well, but that they messed up. You took advantage of their mistake.

I get your point. Beating SWFs isn't impossible. Sometimes they make mistakes with gens or have an overly confident Object that ends up feeding. But that's all based on the Survivors, not the Killer. As Killer the best you can do is react to their misplays and capitalize on them... I just feel like a Killer should have the option to win against a perfect SWF given enough skill... but even the top Rank 1 streamers with thousands of hours can have games where all four Survivors escape and they get rolled.

  • I'm a rank 3 Killer and a rank 4 Survivor

SWFs make me want to scream. Some games against coordinated rank 1s in voice chat are unwinnable, like to the extent that getting even one kill is a legitimate challenge. Once, I spent 5 minutes playing whack a mole slugging an entire time but they had FOUR UNBREAKABLES, 4 BT, 4DS and 4 DH. I had their entire team down at one point and I still only ended the game with one kill

  • @Deadman316 said:

Psst, they forgot to address the hitbox problem...

There's not actually a hitbox problem. It's issues with player's connections and ping and how the lag between players appears on screen. They literally wrote an entire post on this last month

  • if you bring a key. copy someone else's outfit and survivor so the killer has a hard time tunneling

  • I don’t think it has anything to do with licensing for Freddy’s DLC. His dream world effect probably probably just makes the Switch’s walmart GPU have heart attacks and 15 fps.

  • @Dustin I really like it because it gives Legion a little more potential in the 1v1 chases. Like you if you use Frenzy and no one shows up with Killer Instinct, you can just cancel it and continue your chase.

It also makes Frenzy finally viable for mobility because you can use your power to travel the map and canceling it without hitting anyone will give you barely any penalty.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Legions base power effect is fine, you easily injure multiple people and force people to mend before healing or leave them injured if they choose not to heal. Legion needs reductions to the sheer amount of penalties that their power has. A power that isn't lethal shouldn't have so many downsides.

    1. The base power cooldown is too long
    2. The power stun recovery is too long
    3. You get punished for missing one hit by being stunned for 4 seconds and losing you ENTIRE power, it feels horrible
    4. The base power duration is often too short to reach further targets
    5. Hitting a survivor with an M1 attack cuts your power in half, pointless, that's like Nurse having a blink charge taken away when landing a hit
    6. You can't see scratch marks (and blood, if I'm correct). which is horrible considering that messing up a power usage is mega costly in the long run.

These penalties would be just fine on the old legion and would have actually made them a little more fair to face, but changing Legions base power AND ADDING these negatives was just a big oof. Take away and reduce these penalties and I guarantee you Legion would not be OP, they just don't want survivors screaming about how annoying Legion is to face so they put on all these negatives to give survivors the illusion that Legion is a "fair" Killer. It's sad because Legion is a solid Killer, but the negatives to their power hold them back HARD.

Remove the penalty for hitting Survivors (why is that even a thing).

Reduce the Frenzy cooldown stun to 3 seconds so they're not so add-on dependent (maybe even rework the cooldown add-ons to do something different).

Even just that could go a long way. Also, not being able to see scratches is fine for Legion because once you get the first hit you have Killer Instinct to track Survivors a lot of people forget that. Activate Frenzy a couple seconds before you hit them so they stay in your line of sight. If you barely see them out of the corner of your screen, Frenzy isn't the play because you can't see scratches and I think that's balanced

  • As a Rank 3 Killer who plays Legion as one of my signature Killers, I'd definitely recommend them.

Legion doesn't play like the other Killers much at all. They're high mobility and focused on chaining hits and tracking Survivors. Ideally, with Legion you'll be like a mosquito that never goes away and is constantly annoying the Survivors. Legion's biggest thing is keeping people injured and coming back to find people who haven't healed and are quicker downs.

Their best perks by far are Discordance and Monitor. Discordance to find groups of people to chain hits. And Monitor so you get to generators with less time for Survivors to spread out because of the 24m Terror Radius. Also, once you hit the first Survivor you're in a chase so your Killer instinct tracking lets you see all Survivors within 40m, which is also amazing for map awareness. When played right, Legion has better tracking than Doctor and most Survivors aren't even aware you know where they are.

Legion is one of the harder Killers in the game so don't expect to be perfect right away. Frenzy removes all scratch marks from Survivors so you have to keep a close eye on your target to get the first hit (killer instinct will help you find the rest though). Also, Frenzy relies on landing the first hit so you have to be super accurate since Frenzy doesn't have a lunge, the power has a higher sensitivity because of the increased movement speed and a lot of Survivors will try to 360 you out of your power.

  • The game is fun once you've played enough to understand it fully. You might get farmed as a new player, but once you kind get over the learning curve it's good.

  • "Spreading pressure evenly" will lose the game. Camping is a bit trashy, but soft-tunneling is very strategic to win. Basically, keep track of the first Survivor you hook and chase them every time you find them.

Ideally, the first survivor will die at around 2-3 gens. You'll have a second Survivor who has been hooked at least once to start tunneling when they die. And if you can get the game down to the last two Survivors before the final gen pops you'll most likely 4k. The goal is to pick out the weak and medium Survivors and pretty much ignore the best one(s). Because if the only time you can dedicate to a super long drawn out chase against a high skill looper is near endgame.

  • No. Iridescent shards are a way to reward extremely dedicated, mostly free to play, players. They're meant to be an option for players who don't want to or can't pay for the new content. But not an easy one (because that would cost the Devs money).

  • The Walmart servers lag. It benefits both sides. Sometimes the Survivors teleport and the Killer misses a hit. Other times the Killer teleports and the Survivors feel cheated.

dude i swear to god every time i see you reply to me the first thought I have is oh god here comes somebody who's never played killer. Legion runs fast and gets a hit but cannot down he is by far the 2nd worst killer in the game try playing legion in red ranks its infuriating.

That basically sums up Leg. Best in the game at getting hits. Worst in the game at confirming kills

  • @Mister_Holdout said:

Big booty Julie is allowed to camp me anytime.

Same but most Legs play flat frank

  • @BlueFirebilly I meant synergy with the Killer.

Discordance is amazing with Legion and helps them use their power effectively. Knockout is perfect for slugging Killers and well Bubba does slug a lot.

Monitor and Abuse is troll tier on Doctor because having a 24m Static Blast is depressing. Beast of Prey implies that Huntress would loop... which isn't going to happen if you want to win. Same with Territorial Imperative and basement camping Huntress (unless you want to be that b1tch and run iridescent head)

  • @Yamaoka said:

So we are ignoring the fact that some killers can pip/rank up brainlessly easy compared to others?

Legion is really good at ranking up. But they're also one of the harder Killers to play. So you'll breeze through the low/mid ranks with them, but at high ranks you'll struggle because Leg is good at injures and bad at actually downing people

  • @ASurvkillivorer said:

    Uhm. not even remotely true.

I get 8k in objective nearly every single game because I push gens without PT. Just doing gens with 1 other person increases the maxing of that category out by so much.

A perk that can net you 32 thousand more BP in a match is the lesser option than a perk that gets you capped in ONE categor faster? wut.

2 people could use WGLF and the other PT. The person with WGLF could do gens with the person running PT...fail to get a single stack in 4 games. Game 5 get 4 stacks and would have earned more BP than the person running PT in all games combined. When in reality you're going to get stacks every game if you know how to do it.

I don't even really use it but its beyond easy to get stacks especially with borrowed time. You run to hook and take a protection hit while unhooking then you get the safe unhook stack. Hell sometimes BOTH hits against me seem to count and I get 3 stacks for a single unhook.

But is hook bombing in front of the Killer's face to get WGLF gonna increase your chances of escaping or decrease them?

  • @Shocktober said:

He didn't even depip from rank 1 for it. And when I say facecamp, I mean literally standing right in front of the hook not moving. Watching your teammates die like that is super lame, and since it was a nurse with a brain, it's pretty much impossible not to go down once she sees you.

And what do you mean? I hit multiple rank 1 hard/proxy campers today who tunneled everyone off the hook and were still rank 1 at the end of the game.

The only "nice" rank 1 I saw in my games today was a freddy, who is being carried by freddy, so he doesn't really count.

2k because the killer scored 2 hits on someone with an overpowered killer is good game design? I don't think so.

Proxy camping hook isn't boosted if the Killer is using it to draw people off generators and winning chases. Like it or not that's a strategy. Just like slugging

  • @BattleCast said:

Match making is really testing my limits with my past few teammates. Boosted monkeys definitely exist in red ranks on both sides.

For sure, but boosted Killers at least have a base line of skill. Boosted Survivors can play like rank 20s if they queue with the right people

  • @Shocktober said:

    "Boosted killers don't exist"

Tell that to all the freddy, spirit, and hag mains lol. Huntress is pretty bad with the hitboxes nailing you around corners too.

I hit a rank 1 facecamping NOED nurse today who gets run for 4 gens by one guy, then gets to facecamp out like 3+ hooks (because nobody wants to let the guy who did all the work die) and still gets 2 kills even though we actually got to key out the hatch. Probably would have been a 3-4k had they gotten to use the NOED.

So I disagree, pretty much all you have to do as killer is stand in front of the hook with a 1 shot and you are guaranteed 2-3 kills if you combine it with NOED and literally every survivor isn't running BT/DS.

Yeah but you won't rank up by face camping. You actively lose points for being close to the hook when not in a chase. So if you recognize the face camp and gen rush. The most they'll get is a 2k and they're guaranteed to de-rank.

They might rank up if the survivors are blindly altruistic, but especially in high ranks that won't happen in a face camp scenario

  • @WRussoW said:

Can we all agree that mostly all killers' adepts are hard?

Some aren't. The only Killers that are hard are the ones that have no synergy with their own perks.

Like Deathslinger and Huntress would be hard. But Bubba and Legion are easier.

That wouldn't even be good though. The problem with Camaraderie is that pausing the hook timer when a teammate comes near your hook is only useful once in a blue moon. IMO the perk needs to be changed completely.

How about making it like aftercare?

Safe Unhooks/Heals give you tokens. Each token pauses the hook for 20 seconds when you're hooked. Max of 3 tokens. Use all tokens when hooked

Run We'll Make It with Camaraderie so you can get 40 seconds of extra hook pause from one unhook

Well it only activates in Struggle Phase so yes, that is 1 time per match and yes it is one of hte worst perks for many reasons

Yeah. If it activates every time you're hooked and the timer stays paused even when teammates leave the 16m range. Then it could be good, which is what im suggesting

  • @BattleCast said:

    It does work like that.

The problem with Camaraderie is that pausing the hook timer is useless.

I've used it on Adept Steve before. It only activates once per match and stops when someone leaves im pretty sure (not that it activates that often anyway)

True. I don't think the Devs thought jump scare M1 killer Ghost Face would be a thing either. You can tell they must not have many high rank people playtesting the Dev builds to find the optimal playstyles

  • @YaiPa Maybe. He's still a very strong Killer just not the one shot stalky Killer the Devs had in mind

    just a thought

I rather have the perk deactivate if a survivor begins to repair a generator, or complete some sort of complicated action, such as unhooking (which was mentioned above). So because your teammates were dumb, you should be punished for it? Yeah, definitely the logic of someone who only plays killer.

I have more playtime on Survivor. And it's the logic of someone who plays Red Rank Killer against coordinated SWFs every other game

  • They didn't change the matchmaking. It's always been bad. It's just especially bad this morning because server errors are preventing people from SWFs

As someone who uses it purely for an anti-tunnel purpose, I feel like killers have themselves to blame for this one.

Part of the reason I never tunnel deliberately. If it's been 2 minutes, and you're the only one I find, too bad. You had your chance.

If it takes you two minutes to find a chase mid-game, the gens are done and everyone's escaped.

  • @inferjus said:

Ironically DS exists to stop behaviours like these.

The ironic part is that getting DS'd pisses off Killers and makes them more likely to commit to you because you're injured and obviously not on first hook.

i chain if i can, i always go for as many hits as possible, but i know if they are at 32 meters it's almost useless to go after them since they'll run away from me and even more so if you use monitor with a 40 meters, so if there's no one really close i'll cancel and hit back as soon as possible

It's like BBQ with no counterplay. Even if you cancel Frenzy, you know where the people who are 40m away are. Which can be very useful for deciding which generators to hit with Pop. Also, I'm kinda scummy and will hit people I have no intention of chasing to track people I actually want to find. Like people on death hook or a person who's playing immersed and probably planned on camping Hatch, so I don't have to spend 4 minutes slugging for the 4k.

  • @notsonew said:

i understand the point on monitor but i refuse personally to use that perk on him, waste of a slot in my opinion, i usually only use monitor on 24M/110% killers

I guess that makes sense since your playstyle seems to be focused on canceling Frenzy to get follow up hits instead of chaining it

  • @notsonew

You need Monitor and Abuse plus Discordance in any strong Legion build. Their best perks by far.

The 24m terror radius means people have less reaction time to spread out for Frenzy when you ambush a generator so you can more easily chain hits AND once you hit the first person you have a much higher detection radius for tracking because your Terror Radius jumps to 40m so you have more information about where everyone is.

  • @Cheers said:

This sounds great, except when you think of one perk.

OoO. Even though I love this perk, Open handed would make this ridiculously over powered.

Additionally some perks it would be useless with, such as Aftercare.

SWFs have voice chat most of the time, which is infinitely more OP combo'd with Object using my version of Open Handed.

Because they can have info on the Killer anywhere on the map with chat and with my perk they'd have to be within 20m

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

I think it'd honestly be better if instead of doubling the range, it let's you use other survivor's aura perks if you're close enough to them. For example you have open handed and someone you're on a gen with has better together, suddenly you get the better together bonus too (if someone is downed see the aura of all survivors). Or it'd work for empathy, aftercare, bond, kindred, dark sense, maps, the list goes on. It'd have some cool interactions and would be a great perk imo. Obviously there'd be an exception for mettle of man, that'd be a bit strong. Maybe OoO too.

Also could work in reverse to make it a better solo perk, not something for swf. If you have kindred and open handed, then people near you get the kindred info too.

I actually love that. It essentially lets you share perks. So Open Handed could let you see the Killer with your teammate's Alert etc.

It'd need a decent range though maybe 20m so you could share a perk like Kindred to coordinate a save even if the hooked person doesn't have the perk.

Also very thematic with Ace because it's like a Wild Card because you never know what you'll get when you load into a solo queue match

  • Bubba. BBQ, Franklins and Knockout are all high/mid tier perks. And very annoying to play against

  • It's easier to proxy camp a hook than it is to patrol generators on large maps.
