doesnt help the ballpit can spawn a god pallet you would think after 9 years bhvr would know to not add such pallets anymore but here we are…

Ikr. Survivors don't deserve God pallets /s

The chatbox has not added anything except toxicity to the community, it's time it goes.

    Agree

  • Disconnection Penalties (not in PTB)

    • Disconnection Penalties are now based on your last 20 matches played.
    • Each disconnect in this set of 20 matches counts as a disconnection penalty point.
    • Disconnection penalty points decrease as you play matches without disconnecting (previously decayed at the rate of 1 point per day).

No just no. JUST NO. Why are you forcing me to play 20 matches to reset it? i play like 5 games a week. what??? if i find a cheater or a toxic killer or internet issues i need to do 20 matches to remove the penalty???? whaaat???

  • @UndeddJester said:

Hmmm... at the of sounding a bit condescending...

I have 2100 hours in DBD... average match and queue time I'd high ball at 15-20 minutes... 3 matches an hour, that's 6300 matches, we'll call it 6000. 70% of my games have been survivor, which is about 4200 survivor games.

I've DCed from DBD maybe 3 times when the game was already seeing people quit, and suicided on hook 5 times that wasn't to give hatch in a lost game, usually as a result of teammates leaving me go second stage completely uncontested for no reason.

8 in 4200 is 1 in 525… I think 20 is pretty generous, personally. Yes this is a bit of a sarcastic point, but genuinely as someone who doesn't believe in quitting games to abandon my teammates, it takes A LOT to force me into DCing... so I find it hard to justify a lenient

Of course that's assuming no false positives, but 1 in 20 seems a fairly reasonable to me.

    that's assuming everyones like you.

    guess what? not the case.

pretty sure theres people with 2100 hours on dbd that cant even loop yet.

And people that work irl play 3-6 matches a week if lucky.

  • @tjt85 said:

I've not been following the streams or developer updates. Where does it say all this about 20 game DC penalty resets?

Anyway, I think 20 matches before your penalty resets a level (if true) is absolutely absurd. Especially since it's not at all uncommon to be kicked from the server through no fault of your own. Surely it should at least decay naturally with time spent away from the game?

Do people honestly think that doubling down on the stick without the carrot approach (which so far is clearly not working) is going to result in players being less frustrated with the game? Because I dunno about that…

9.0 patch notes. on general discussion.

No players will be even more frustrated and do worse than DC. At least before they could dc once a day and play some other game.

Like i have matches constantly where we get a sweaty wesker or huntress that downs everyone before 1 gen is even done. Like a complete stomp. I understand ppl wanting to dc there to not be bullied by someone that far outskills them. but now they can't. So i wonder what they will do while they play a match they DONT want to play.

At some point you have to ask yourself why you're d/cing so much that playing 20 matches without d/cing is such a problem. Likely the answer is something along the lines of you're not finding aspects of the game enjoyable in which case you should stop playing.

The problem that exists now is there is no meaningful punishment for constantly d/cing out of games, because you can just wait out the penalty resets.

most of my dcs were against slugging or huntress.

It hurts that now im forced to play vs her.

  • @Lixadonna said:

Overwatch 2 also has a 20 match penalty reset. If it is anything like theirs you are stuck with the penalty until you play out the 20 matches. The funny thing though is Overwatch 2 has a more lenient penalty for Unranked, Backfills and you leaving affects a greater number of people. BHVR seems to be taking a more Authoritarian approach to band-aid the cause.

matches on ow2 are hella fast compared to dbd. especially loses ( especially if the killer decides to be toxic)

Omg GeneralV, happy to see you too! Doing great!

You reminded me how interesting killer powers were back in 2016-2017. There was never a matter of them being "meta", they just had very interesting unique designs. Killers like doctor (who nowadays would've been made to instead of madness just injure by building up electricity or something like that, plus a teleport to hallucinatios) or old Freddy, who despite being bad, was still incredibly unique.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3933665#Comment_3933665

That's part of my point. Do new killers NEED to be viable to be fun? Myers is bottom tier yet he is one of the most fun killers because of how many play styles he gets; if you get past the competitive aspect, he has a very fun power. Doctor has no mobility, but a power that is very interesting and oppressive, to the point he is viable without a teleport.

What I'm saying is, they could go a route with a killer where they're completely unique, not necessarily viable, but instead bring a breath of fresh air.

With duo iri and bamb myers is the strongest killer in the game

  • @CLHL said:

Start the match with throwing an offering with the idea of giving up would be both hilarious and pathetic.

everything is weak if you compare it to blight, nurse, billy.

Killers shouldn't all b A/S tier. that's stupid. And if you want that, maybe we should just delete 90% of the killers from the game.

Got your nerve i see, basically every killer is op S-tier against solo Q and no this isnt my claim just yours if you think trapper is S-tier agains solo Q.

Trapper works the most when survivors are making mistakes, walking into his traps saving him time on chase and hit/pick up animations. Yes he is beast near basement just like other 4 killers. The last claim that some perkles trapper destroyed a PRO SWF with HHIGH winstreak, whose fault is it? Like if this is true than its compleatly the swf mistake, they have every advantage survivor can have (maybe map wasnt in their favor idk didnt saw the video) and perkless trapper doesnt have any advantage against solid swf.

    lol no you didn't.

Got your nerve i see, basically every killer is op S-tier against solo Q and no this isnt my claim just yours if you think trapper is S-tier agains solo Q.

That's a lie. Some killers stomp more average solo q than others.

Trapper with his best addons is far stronger than vecna.

  • @Akumakaji said:

I honestly have no idea were all this downvotes are coming from. OP is pretty much on the spot, what makes SWF so consistently brutal to face is that they do gens like clockwork and often work on gens the second you drop a chase and turn your back, while in soloQ you often got scared little kittens. But they are also singlehandedly propping up the killrates of some of the lowtier killers, who would be much furhter down if it came just to their powers and capabilities.

Ignoring bro ONLY did 20 surv games.

    Because games are random.

Saying surv needs to do gens to win is like saying killer needs Kills to win

What this ignores is tunnel , camping, healing, gen regress, anti loop killer, killer mobility, bad hooking , bad plans, instadowns ,stealth.

    RANDOM

How AM i supposed to do gens with 2 team mates hooked and One that needs heals?

Saying solo q lose rates is due to not doing gens is honestly....

  • Lmaooo bro called dredge weak.

He is fine. His power needs to BE tunes down a bit tho. Cant see anything

  • First of all enemies arent always injured even with a Legion and oni One shots.

Second oni is a lot easier to play than Billy blight and more successfull. Even a noob like me can Dodge billys and blights but i aint dodging a oni.

Third his power can hit Multiple people with One strike.

Forth his power tells him where injured survinvers are

Fifth his power hás a generous hitbox and can get cheap hits that others killers cant get and those are One shots.

  • @Neaxolotl said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3929771#Comment_3929771

And that's the point, you're being taken down in a single hit regardless, and in my opinion his biggest strength is instant down which is negated by legion's injury, his dash is more or less better billy(which is still meh due to the amount of pallets in 2v8) and his M1 is honestly worse than normal M1, speed isn't any better than killers I've listed either, on top of it "chain down" is also not as strong in 2v8 because everyone has unbreakable and there is too much survivors who can easily pick slugged one up

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3929774#Comment_3929774

He'd be a 2nd most busted killer in 1v4, but here we are talking about 2v8 with infinite pallet and 8x unbreakable with 24 hooks to do

Not to mention the fact you are still have to walk around to find blood orbs so it's not as fast as it looks, not like survivors are everywhere while bleeding repeatedly

Legion definitely isn't busted killer in any way in 1v4, but he is probably a strongest killer in 2v8, thinking it same way as 1v4 balance is strange

Average mmr Legion is pretty strong lol and it gets worse depending on map.

Its easier to win vs clown/doctor than Legion.

Not sure if I say worse but funny you say that, I faced Spirit and Legion several times today and they are a VERY annoying combo. Simply because Legion gets injures for free and being injured and noisy is not ideal against Spirit of course.

I can understand you saying this, I would not mind Oni so much but I feel he needs some adjustment as being in power constantly is absolutely insane.

Legion has to go though, some killers are just not suited to 2v8 in my opinion and Legion is definitely one.

legion needs a decrease in the duration of frenzy, maybe 25% decrease, maybe more. He's really powerfull in 2x8.

They removed his skill expression by buffing his turn radius, only bad Oni players will miss their hits.

believe it or not. gf did like 8 2x8 matches this weekend. since i dont play killer.

She only plays legion, but she's kinda bad at killer, spins etc get her lol.

    6 ghostfaces 1 oni and 1 spirit

the worst game was with a oni. Dude used his power like 4x during the match. With all survivors bleeding out. He would use his power and down maybe 1

best game was with spirit. She cleaned everyone 1 by 1, game ended with 4 gens left. no survivors alive.

  • @LordGlint said:

I feel like it's mostly a issue of ppl getting annoyed at the inconsistencies. Currently there's no time requirements to the survivor abandonment. It's very much possible to get the abandon queue a minute into the game. These were put in to avoid 4 minute bleedout scenarios, but are hitting way more. The killer abandon function on the other hand still involves long wait times of 10 minutes.

Most of the times it's easy to tell if a game is lost in the first mins of a match regardless.

While it sucks killers wait 10 mins to play games sometimes. it's not theyr fault the MMR is AWFULL.

And theres no reason for survivors to be playing a match they don't want to play and are losing.

    .

I Still remember that game i had vs a legion. for 25mins. People died due to bleedout on the floor not hooks.

It was a constant pick up the downed survivors, legion comes slugs again , rinse and repeat. The killer at the end just said people needed to learn how to loop. Meanwhile we were there entertaining him like clowns because we couldnt dc because timer was already at 10mins.

Honestly worst match i ever had of dbd and i hope karma gets that person.

First of all trapper was S-tier only one time in history of dbd and that was when he was only playble killer in the game. Trapper with strongest addons is nowhere near S-tier and him destroying swfs and survivors in general is because survivors are making mistakes. Trapper only works if survivors are making mistakes, thats when his power works and shines.

What we know as last message fron devs they wont buff him, they like his killrates and want him to be character for new players( every content creator or an experienced player will recomend wraith, legion, doctor).

"Trapper with strongest addons is nowhere near S-tier and him destroying swfs and survivors in general is because survivors are making mistakes. Trapper only works if survivors are making mistakes, thats when his power works and shines."

Good stuff, you seem to ignore the average mmr part.

You expect survivors to not make mistakes??? lmao.

Trapper is easily S tier on solo Q/average/low mmr with the best addons. 1 mistake especially near basement is all it takes to win the game.

Ofcourse it will depend on map also.

Remind me if i'm wrong, but didn't a perkless trapper destroy a PRO SWF with a HIGH winstreak?

  • @MaTtRoSiTy said:

I agree very much with this and I think this is a pretty widespread sentiment at this point.

Edited to shorten to just say… Oni and Legion - absolute misery. Ruins the mode completely for me and I am sure many others too

Lmao spirit + legions worse lol

At least oni requires some skills to use

  • @burt0r said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3929514#Comment_3929514

And who defines if a match is lost? (Of course I know you only focus on the 4 people slug.)

But what about for example the swf that didn't get 3 gens done before first hook or simply doesn't like the killer/map and decides to rush the killer to get downed to be able quit without penalty or MMR loss.

What is the killer supposed to do in this scenario of survivor cherry picking matches that go their way?

The killer can't do anything but hitting/downing them and letting them have their way.

And whats the issue? Lol. If nothing else ask them to farm bp and let them rush gens and leave. Stop forcing ppl to play vs when they don't want.

  • Lmao 8 downvoting when average survivor cant loop and game is full of anti loop killers.

+ Insta down perks + stealth perks.

We all have Lost games vs (killers) weskers / bubbas that didnt even use they'r powers just m1. Now imagine the Next game those survinvors getting a Dracula or spirit with best addons because match maker is garbage

Yet killers go and cry on Reddit because they Lost 3 games of the 10 they did that day. Happens a lot.

Its always fun (not) watching pro streamers get matched vs noobs and having they'r chat make fun of those players and call them paid actors.

  • If they are good like you say . You're outplay wouldnt make them insta quit. Or is your outplay camp + tunnel + downing all 3?

  • @Flawless_ said:

I mean yea it's not that big of a deal, but it just feels off to "win" while everyone else just left. I'd like to at least get to say gg to the people I'm going against? Also it's weird to me that if things aren't going well as killer I'm still being forced to play till the last survivor decides the game is over, yet the moment the game goes south for the surv team everyone can just quit with no consequences. I get that you can't force people to play the game but as killer I have to play till the end whether I want to or not, so what are we addressing then? Is it just the slugging or is it that people just can't cope with losing a match?. But again, not that big of a deal. Although I do think regardless of what triggers it shouldn't count as a loss or even a draw for the killer if they slug.

Lmao sou stomp 4 survinvors and want say to them you had a gg game destroying them.

    Gj bro.

Hopefully this gg thing dies One day because people have made its lose its meaning ages ago.

  • Legion was already a problem past 2x8 , but on this one??? oh boy. Now add in oni that has power the whole game

  • @redhat74 said:

So many people cheating in DBD that BHVR class as 'not bannable' it makes you wonder why don't they actually balance the game by introducing communications into the game… yes yes I know the people who like to use communications for unfair advantages (some are actually ignorant to this) but easy solution BHVR.

Choy's excellent explaination of a 'Currency System' is just what is needed for fun and balance to return to DBD:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3DQfbzMhJE

So you want to add communications to the most toxic game in the world?

  • Trapper with the right addons

both red or red and purple (surv injured on pallet disarm, pallets arm auto, surv self disarm = down) is easily S tier on solo Q average/low mmr that's why.

And it can also destroy swfs if they do some mistakes.

  • @TheBubbaMain2003 said:

He is fine for now. I would buff him a little bit more, because if you gonna predrop the Pallet and just play for checkspot he can't do much.

against average survivors he is haaaaaaard to deal with lol

while he is m1 he also has lots of stuff going on

id say he is A tier on average-low mmr.

  • i managed to win vs him… so his nerfs were probably giga bad, since im trash at the game.

  • The actual change she needs is for aura reading to not work when she uses her power.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/445336/dead-mans-switch-is-kind-of-hard-to-play-against

    Killer main here for Reference:

I kind of agree and preferred the perks older state. I'm someone who thinks perks as a whole shouldn't be that good, especially since some perks only exist to counter others (such as exhaustion perks, and Linquid Touch), making the game feel very "Rock, Paper, Scissors" with our loadouts. Some good news, DMS only effects one Gen at a time now. However, it no longer matters when the gen is let go of, as the perk is active until someone let's go of a gen. This means the perk loses it's ant-camp incentive that it used to have. I do appreciate Behavior's intent to make it so low Mobility killers like Trapper or Clown don't have to be so far behind because they can't use perks like this, but this is also stacking really well with the already strong killers.

One way they could make the Old DMS more effective for all killers not camping, and less of a synergy with Pain Res is this: add an 6 seconds delay to it's activation. This means when a survivor is hooked, Scourge hook will make you scream like usual, but won't activate DMS at the same time. Additionally, high mobility killers will still be able to take advantage of the perk more than low mobility ones, but they won't be as much better.

Even if they don't go back to the old DMS, they should add the 6 second delay to reduce the Pain Res/DMS combo's prevalence.

yeah, it's nice that dms can activate on gens that barely had any pogress, granted that still is a lot of value later on the game. It's inconsistent factor is nice, but most of the time it will go for the gens with most pogress. And most of the time the perk is paired with pain res.

  • @ad19970 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3927889#Comment_3927889

I definitely agree that there is more to solo queue being problematic than just teammates not doing gens. Balance wise as well. Tunneling and camping definitely need to be nerfed a bit more, which I hope will happen in the next updates.

I am not sure about gen regress perks though. I think matches are still winnable even if the killer uses three or more.

Not really, if the killer has DMS + pain res + good mobility + maybe antiloop + pop/surge etc It's complete GG you would need to be really bad at killer to lose a game where you are given several mins for free.

If it's a high mmr team on comms they can deal with it. but vs solo Q? it's just a insta loss.

  • strongly disagree with this post for several reasons.

Nr1 if you are a killer player and now decided to do survivor you are getting baby mmr on survivor. And from what i can see it lasts for a good ammount of games.

Nr2 solo Q is random. like really random and you can get teams that can't loop any killer that isn't a m1 killer. Get a dracula vs your average team and the dracula has free hits all game. People just can't dodge.

Nr 3 doing gens is a good thing to say but there's context missing, are the survivors healing? is the gen blocked? is the survivor going for unhook because he doesn't know if someone else is going?

There's many reasons solo Q is bad and saying it's not because of X or Y when Several killers are extremely hard to play against and can win chases in seconds isn't right. Solo Q is hard because OF MANYYY REASONS all mixed together and one shouldn't just blame gens.

In my solo Q matches everyone does gens all the time, does it matter when killer slugs, tunnels, camps, has 3 gen regress perks like dms/grim that block gens? plus killer with mobility just winning chases in second and instantly being on a 80% gen.

  • could had least had been a skin for a fun killer.

Well I for one sure as hell hope not. But I honestly doubt the majority of feedback is negative towards that nerf. Ghoul needed nerfing according to many people before that nerf.

but nurse and especially blight aren't getting nerfed? if those 2 can be op i see no reason for kaneki to be too. I wont even touch spirit because that one is far worse than ghoul

  • @xGodSendDeath said:

I played solo queue survivor tonight for 3 hours to get the new survivor's adept and work on the trophies. The only killers I played against were Ghoul, Blight, Nurse, and Billy. I did not play against a single M1 killer. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Drop your mmr a bit and you will find m1 killers more often.

Not that it matters, i lose vs all killers regardless. For people of my skill lvl ghostface is one of the strongest killers in the game so yeah.

stealth perks and instadown perks like starstruck are extremely overpowered on low skill lvl survivors. You wont win vs them, unless you get a pro Nea on your team carrying you for 4 gens.

  • @Abbzy said:

He is not that strong, if feel becouse ou saw bhvr kill rate then let me tell you few things. His slowdown isnt that strong little bit easier to hit than pyramids punishment but slows you less than clown. Dream pallets arent that strong his counter is just grab a clock. Only thing from his basekit that makes him better m1 is the teleport thats all.

actually other statistic sites FOR CURRENT MONTHS, still have him with a high winrate.

  • never won vs him, Rarely won pre rework when he was the weakest killer in the game, imagine now lmao

at least if we go by stats he has a high winrate. on other stat sites also.

From a noob prespective, because it feels like the forum is full of pros. There's several issues playing vs him.

Nr 1 the explosive pallets make looping him hard. You usually reach them and just like a trapper trap you run away but that's distance lost and he easily catches up.

Nr 2 his invisiblity stealth mechanic. This is the number 1 reason. At low survivor skill lvls stealth and instadown perks are overpowered. It does make freddy scary but also makes him get lots of free hits.

Nr 3 The fact he can teleport to a 90% gen.

Nr 4 people still dont know he can tp when you heal so yeah.

That's low skill survivor for you.

Ghostface is op here :) , Even pig lol.

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

I personally don't think there's anything wrong with lightborn. It's a decent option for killers, and isn't too powerful despite being one of the very few "hard counters" that exists in the game.

That said, distortion was nerfed at least in part because "having one perk that denies an entire class of perks" and "it promoted unhealthy gameplay", which makes lightborn seem like a special case.

Maybe it would be more consistent for the devs to rework it to be something like "gain a token for each unique survivor hooked, each token adds a stacking 25% blindness reduction, up to 100% maximum at 4 tokens", to discourage tunneling. And consider changing "hooked" to either "hit" or "chased".

i do miss distortion with all the aura reading spam there is.

  • @WolfyWood said:

It's a boring perk that encourages more time sitting on gens before the person getting tunneled dies.

I'm not sure why anyone should ever enjoy going against it. It doesn't change interactions it just removes them.

sometimes i get the daily short where i see a survivor bully a killer with blind after blind and sometimes it's a group of several of them, doesn't seem like a good experience. Id rather have them rush gens and leave than deal with that.

  • @ad19970 said:

I couldn't disagree more with this. I have been playing Kaneki almost non stop ever since the nerfs and he feels actually fair and balanced now, but still strong. It's just that he now actually has some counterplay for survivors.

HIm losing two power tokens after breaking a pallet was the best nerf they could have given him in my opinion because it simply allows survivors to have a fairer chance at getting to some resource that they can use against Kaneki, which is only fair. Survivors should have counterplay against a killer.

His vault ability also needed a nerf and now it feels like it's in the perfect spot. It no longer gives you free hits at pallets and instead positions you to mindgame the pallet against the survivor you are chasing. As long as the pallet loop is mindgameable of course.

I also fail to see how Legion is stronger than him. He still easily has some of the best mobility in the game, and his downing potential is also better than that of Legion.

will most likely get buffed to losing 1 less token tho.

  • I found it strange, how i was able to even win a game today on a 4 stack vs this guy, we usually lose every single game vs this killer, but no today we won one… and what i found strange was, he bite me like 2x and i wasn't bleeding, is it a glitch or a severe nerf?

i was ready to fall down and out of nowhere… wait i wasn't bleeding???

1 … 3 4 5 6 7
