I mean your sorta expecting a lot from a joke game

Don't we have Jeff?

It's a cycle. One side does something then the other side does something to counter it and the other side does it and it repeats

Another possibility would be have Luck increase the size of Great skill check bands.
That would be great. Luck could also effect chest searching too.

Boons are hard to do. I think with shadow step and CoH they already covered 90% of useful ideas.
Dark theory covers the rest. What other useful idea can they come up with? Can you come up with any?
Well there could be one that increase luck, one that shows the killers aura. Or there could be one that benefits only one person not the team

A few ideas...
Boon: Vengeance
When a killer snuffs out the Boon Totem, they're stunned for 3 seconds and their aura is revealed to all survivors for 4/5/6 seconds. If snuffing the Boon caused the totem to be destroyed, their aura is revealed for an additional 4 seconds.
Boon: Evil Revealed
The killer's aura and the aura of any killer belongings within the area of effect are revealed to all survivors. The effect persist for 1/2/3 seconds after the killer leaves the area of effect.
Boon: Auspicious Aims
Whenever a survivor succeeds at a skill check while within the area of effect, Boon: Auspicious Aims gains a token (1 token for good, 2 tokens for great), up to a maximum of 6/7/8 tokens. All survivors gain a bonus 2% Luck for each token.
These are good I particularly like the second one. That can definitely be a boon worth taking

Luck would be ok but only if they change how Luck works. Right now Luck is a practically useless effect, all it does is slightly increase the chance you can pull yourself off the first hook which is normally not something you should be doing. (The main exception is if you have a perk that makes pulling yourself off 100% guaranteed, that’s obviously fine.) If you’re using up your first hook stage trying to pull yourself off you are not only making it more likely you will die but also giving everybody else less time to react and rescue you.
So I’d love to see them revamp Luck to be something better. One possibility could be Luck is a percentage chance of an attack missing you for instance. So if you’re Lucky then every now and then the killer just whiffs when it should have hit. Or it could modify how often you get skill checks. Those are just off the top of my head, really anything that can actually impact the match is fine.
I think luck should effect skillchecks. Maybe there can be a rare type of skillchecks that occurs that makes it so that if you hit it the gens progress more but it would have to be extremely rare

Right but that’s why they removed the bloodpoint bonuses from those two perks in the first place.
Unfortunately. They will have to come up with a new generic boon perk.
I say something that effects luck

A bloodpoint boon is not a good idea. Perks really should be balanced around things that directly impact the match, not bloodpoints you can spend outside the match. Keep the bloodpoint bonuses on the offerings.
Well it wouldn't just be bloodpoints it would be something else too. The bloodpoints would be a secondary effect like with prove thyself and previous wglf
But i understand what your saying.
-
Why would they not use one of the most iconic villains of the series
-
@Seraphor said:
I'm surprised that isn't a generic Boon perk, now that we have Shattered Hope as a generic.
It could also be cool to have a 'reverse' Boon perk, similarly to Hex: Haunted Grounds and Retribution, penalises a killer for snuffing.
I'm not generally a fan of Boons, but anything to water down the frequency of Circle of Healing is a positive in my eyes.
Yeah I was surprised to that we didn't get a generic boon. I sorta feel they should have made a bloodpoint boon.
But with the recent changes that's unlikely to happen
-
@amazing_grace said:
Probably, they need to keep pumping out content, so I would imagine they would make more boons. When character lore fits towards a certain boon perk, they'll definitely show up.
I don't think it has to do with character. Boons sorta fit with haddies character and she didn't get a boon.
-
Your getting a lot of blood points with the conspicuous action
-
Thank you for the tips. I'm totally not a survivor main and I'm looking at Demogorgons secrets to know how to beat him.

Haven't been playing much this week, I had to go to London urgently for dog/housesitting duty
I played one game of solo survivor yesterday and it was terrible, a 3 hook 2k with a lot of a hook punching by a nemesis who didn't appreciate none of us going down until 4 gens had been done
Also this is Buffy:

Been playing mostly solo survivor last night and the games have been surprisingly ok. Got a couple of bad games, but that's about it.
As killer though it feels like I've been getting paired with elite SWFs. And toolboxes every match. I haven't played killer in a while because of breaks from DBD and long queues, so maybe that's why.
Overall, it's been an ok experience though. Not too bad, not too good. Just in the middle.
Ok that's not too bad. Currently I'm on a break but I wasn't sure if I should get back to playing
-
I can't wait for the perks. I definitely want to try out new things
-
@AcelynnBen said:
what even happened, i never played against or with this perk, what does it do
Before it was Whenever you take 3 protection hits the next hit that would put you into the dying state from injured would be ignored. It also showed your aura to the killer at a certain range
Now after the update it will take two protection hits for it to be active and you gain the endurance status effect but your aura is still shown to the killer and you can't do generators or you lose the endurance status effect.

Because extra health states should come at the cost, which i agree with. That's the stigma Devs are going with.
I agree they should but they shouldn't have too many cost. Otherwise it makes it terrible to use. It's why previous Mettle of man was barely used
-
@CookieBaws said:

They want people to use it, not running around under free endurance. You either USE the perk as intended or suffer.
But it's not exactly free its at the cost of not doing any anything to progress the match.
Why would you bring Mettle of man but not try and get use out of it?
@Sonzaishinai said:

The aura reading is there to prevent survivors holding on to it.
It's unlimited endurance. There needs to be some cost to it.
Especially if they don't make a exception about endurance bodyblocks.
Cause as it reads you get stacks for bodyblocking with the endurance effect too which means that every time you get healed you have 2 bodyblocks in your pocket.
There needs to be some way for the killer to know if they can actually commit to a survivor instead of having to fear someone who takes 3 hits to down to jump infront of other survivors all the time
If it didn't have aura reading it would need a set duration. I prefer the aura reading it's way more interresting
But it has two downsides that are not needed. It shows your aura to the killer and you can't do anything in order to keep the endurance. One of the stipulations is enough to ensure they use it for bodyblocking.
It should one of thr downsides not both.
-
@CookieBaws said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3108900#Comment_3108900
Since it is a permament endurance. I think Devs wanted this perk to be "Fight or flight" type a thing. You endure a hit and get out, that's the point.
I don't think this explains the aura reading though. I feel you can have that same effect without the aura
-
@BrokenSouI said:

If that's your definition of meta, sure. Then it was meta.
The point is for the meta shake up they nerfed the perks most used in regardless of if they were actually meta. That's why self care was changed. Yet they brought back pr which was a very used perk as the data showed. So we essentially when backwards.
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
The point is to protect your teammates with it. The aura reading should never even come into play unless the killers stops going after you and the person you bodyblocked for.
Why is everybodies instinct after getting a shield to run away from the killer and a injured teammate?
I feel people really aren't thinking broadly with this change. Seems to me it's going to above decent.
The aura reading shouldn't be there at all. Please give me a good reason for the aura reading since you agree ir shouldn't even be in play?
-
Yeah but that's two people not doing gens at all. And with the increasing gens times plus the killer stacking multiple slowdowns I don't think survivors have the time to have 2 people off gens
-
@ThatOneDemoPlayer said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3106712#Comment_3106712
And Self-Care was also very popular pre-nerf. Was it meta?
But the point of the meta change was to nerf perks that was used the most even of they weren't too meta.
But reverting back pain resonance to what it was before goes against that. Now killers are going to be using it a lot again
-
@ThatOneDemoPlayer said:
It's worse, and the combo wasn't even meta pre-patch
I'm pretty sure it was I saw killers running the combo left and right.
-
@mischiefmanaged said:
They're also effectively bringing back old Object of Obsession. You can combo MoM and OoO to get unlimited aura reading on the killer from 16 meters or more. Now you just have to take 2 protection hits instead of 3 and you get to see the aura while you're both injured or healthy. And you have Endurance.
Now that you mentioned it yeah that's probably going to be a problem.
-
@dugman said:

Which is why they nerfed the duration of DMS. Time will tell if it ends up being just as popular as before.
We can see but I'm not hopeful what so ever.
30 seconds seems like enough time for the killer to do what they need to do.
-
@Phasmamain said:
This and bringing back DMS PR really makes me question the thought process here
Now I know they don't play their own game because if they did they would know killers can see blocked generators. So taking away the notification is useless.
-
I love how we are going back on out plan to change things up. People are going to go back to running dms and pr again

A Pyramid Head lost quite badly so I asked if he wanted some advice since I played him a lot. Really not the greatest build (Brutal Strength on Pyramid Head, lmfao). He then asked if I was GBK on the Forums, I said yeah, and then he said more or less that with a couple more... Choice, words, shall we say.
Fun experience, 10/10 would recommend.

Tragically your own experience doesn't match with the majority. If I had to count how many times I've been told something reportable (ie. slurs, hope your family dies, "Hey I know you from the Forums really glad your boyfriend died of cancer btw") by killers I'd run out of digits before hitting 10%. Same with survivors. Both sides contain awful, horrific people. Stop making this us vs them.
Did they really day that about your boyfriend?
I'm so sorry

Janes perks are just really bad
Ik they cam use some quality of life buffs
-
@SekiSeki said:
First off, duration it too long. With that buff, you overshadow perks like 'Dance with Me'.
The effect isn't that strong, no, but having something trigger on demand will make it strong.
You could extend the duration to 20 seconds, and it'd be fine. You could allow hiding of aura for the 10 seconds as well. I don't think making it on demand is the solution.
We could just lower the duration. Maybe 6 seconds. We can also make it a limited use like Maybe a max of 5 tokens so that it won't overshadow dance with me.
But main problem I have with the perk is how little control we have over the perk. Unless your in a swf most of the time you won't get use out of it since gens can be completely at the worst time.

Sounds pretty good not too strong at all considering we have shadow step in the game
It would really only hurt maybe spirit
But f her anyways
I don't think it would hurt spirit that much. She still have sound to track survivor

@LittleBigSunset said:
I think my comment got deleted, somehow?
Just going to summarise my previous points. You shouldn't generalise the very vocal minority of survivors that are mindlessly complaining as 'survivors' in general. The developers will make changes, but it will not be based on mindless complaining that doesn't offer valid criticism that they can consider. We're only two weeks in to the game's biggest meta-breaking patch, so they're going to take their time for the game to settle instead of jumping the gun and making quick changes based on little actual data.
And please don't dismiss genuine criticism, such as in regards to easier camping/tunnelling and solo queue being harder due to needing QoL additions to catch up with killers. Especially under the pretense of 'you can't use DH anymore lol get good'. It's super annoying to see and is a common dismissal on the forums at the moment.
I agree with all of this completely
-
To be fair we shouldn't shame people for using the perks that they want
-

The perk does not list incapacitated as an effect it reduces, so I would assume no.
Thats unfortunate. Every new status effect should be included in vigil effect
-
I think the incapacitated status effect is too long.
Also does vigil effect the timer incapacitated status too or not.
-
@Mert_MK said:
Just say you want even more Killer buffs and go. No matter how many incentives you add for Killers not to tunnel and camp, they will still do it because its a braindead way to secure a 4k or just to be dicks.
Aaaaand here we go yet again, Nowhere do i see complaints about DH from Survivor players. Killers are just so obsessed with bringing this up whenever a Survivor player expresses their opinion about the update.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/8LV11MQQ5KAD/unbenannt.png
Judging by your previous posts i already knew this was gonna be a heavily killer biased take anyway and that you're probably not even a Survivor Main
I'm going to borrow this meme as it's so relevant if you don't mind
