  • I think its fine except 1/2 second is a little too short considering all the latency issues.

I consider this game to be a competitive game, not a party game.

Thats a you problem. Like.. you're the one who has a problem. And its your view of the game. Its a party game, regardless what any of the hard pvp'ers want.

There are non-party games you could try.

Its definitely not a party game. Maybe it started out as one.

  • Just to clear something up I am not advocating for no dc penalty. I just want Bhvr. to make the game a little more fair. Im not even saying make it 50/50. Sometimes just a slight change can make a big difference. I dunno maybe for one idea they can fix things that completely destroy solo que but have barely any effect on swf's. I have a lot of ideas but I'm not the developer. One thing I know is that "punishing" survivors and forcing them to stay in games they are trying get out of would both not work and in addition probably just hasten the decline of the game.

    Details preferably.

For example: What did they lose, what do they have now, and what do killers have before and now that make it so easy compared to what survivors have currently.

I mean there's too many factors involved for me to know without making it my full time job to analyze the game. I will say for just one example they keep making the maps worse filling them with unsafe loops and deadzones. Another example would be them adding all these aura reading perks but also nerfing distortion. I know you can say well this killer perk and this killer were nerfed as well, but thats why im saying you need to use some circumstancial evidence to see which side actually has the advatage in the game. In this case that evidence would be things like the statistical advatage killer has as well as the fact that the dc and hook suicding epidemic is worse now then it was when there wasnt even a penalty for dcing. Now maybe the problem is just with the mmr system, but I have a hunch that even though that is part of the problem it probably goes deeper than that.

  • Because the game used to be survivor sided and in trying to fix it Bhvr went too far the other way? I mean i dont know what kind of answer you want.

I mean I've seen give ups for a variety of reasons. Some being because frankly their own fault. Like me hitting a survivor. They get a speed burst. Immedately run into a wall or get stuck on something because they weren't looking where they were going. "Oop going next" or they just ran a loop wrong. Or they were found first. Ect. It's kinda funny tbh.

Well I mean people will dc for whatever reason. In my games the majority of the time it happens the game was most likely unwinnable though.

If they want to test it that it is a option. I would not be opposed to that approach. It was frankly a waste of resources to make the whole bot system to address dcs making landslide victories for killers because it didn't leave a survivor in the match to help the team. But then people jump ship to dying on hook giving their team no bot anyway. Other games like I mentioned don't have the bot system so DCs have to be met with the harshest penaltys available. DBD is not that same game. I do think we could still use a penalty but it could be not as heavy handed. Because chronic dcs that just do it every game isn't helping anyone ofc. Because then idk how even they are having fun at that point.

Well i could be wrong but i think if they just get rid of the penalty completely people will be dcing even more than they are now. I truly believe the giving up epidemic is a symptom of the state of the game and Bhvr. should work on fixing that.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3820313#Comment_3820313

A lot to unpack there. Firstly, i'm not even a killer main i started on survivor back in 2017 and have been playing strictly 50/50 since the start.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/4046GCU4GN50/image-2024-10-16-010154614.png

So i know how the game was back in its original states without any dc penalty and even more options for both sides to absolutely destroy each other. I also know most of the people commenting on this post also are mostly either 50/50 players or still play at least some survivor so calling it a "Killer circle—jerk" is just wrong when you don't even know to what ratio which side we all play. Secondly. None of the games i mentioned are balanced at all. Overwatch just had a few of its most controversial patches yet, Rainbow Six is known as dropping the ball pretty much every patch as well. And league has its pitfalls as well. They just don't let people exit the game and ruin perfectly good matches. It is reasonable for most of us that play in general (Actually even more as survivors because killers don't care about free kills though it does ruin the fun of a game about purely chasing) have seen the stresses of having a perfectly fine match be a landslide because that one survivor that got downed by Unrelenting Freddy once decided to go next. So i would not defend it with just "oh its because the games unbalanced" because most give ups are before anything even majorly happens in the match. Just like instant DC's. And i personally don't care if BHVR acts on this post or not. Its a general discussion after all. But i want to see improvement in my survivor and killer games where people actually play out their matches instead of deciding they want to throw perfectly fine matches because of whatever reason. The major suggestion removing the purposeful die on hook system. Because no other game allows you to do it. Then if the survivor wants to still get out. They have a leave game button to do so. No point of making the bot system just for people to jump ship and still strand their team anyway. Wouldn't you agree?

You said a lot there but I would just say no matter how unbalanced overwatch or rainbow six is they are still way more balanced then dbd. And just a question, are you saying they should take away the abiity to kill go next on hook but then also remove the d/c penalty?

  • @PuddleOfBludd said:

plain and simple. This is supposed to be a team versus a single player. The problem lies in the fact that you cannot force players to be a team if they don’t want to be. No amount of changes will fix that if people want to be selfish or if they want to be a troll they are going to be that.

If it is so much easier to be good at one role than the other though that shows there is something wrong with the game. And from oldtimers in the forum I read that back when there was no d/c penalty players still didnt give up as often. Hmmmm... wonder why. I mean Im not discounting the possibiity that its actually the mmr thats the problem, but if thats the case then Bhvr. needs to fix it already.

  • I think it is easy compared to (at least solo que) survivor because I have played.both quite a bit and it is just easy in comparison. Not to mention that statistics show it.

👍 so then I guess you should not be playing since according to you every game is unwinnable. Why are you here again?

I think (hope) you understand what I am actually saying. Im not saying dbd as a whole is unwinmable for survivors, i am saying it is often easy to tell that a specific match is unwinnable.

you’re another one who makes me laugh. The reset just happened. I got maximum blood points for survivor, I got 20,000 blood points for killer that shows you how much I played each role. Granted, there are months where I max out on both roles, but I play Survivor a far greater deal than I play killer and I don’t seem to have these detrimental problems that some of you all talk about.

do I go on losing streaks? Absolutely. Mostly on solo queue, but I also understand that that’s going to be the case because the quality of my teammates is just up in the air. Sometimes I will get insanely cracked teammates, and other times I will get useless potatoes. Neither one of those instances means that the killer needs to be nerfed into the ground. The game does not need to be balanced around making you feel better and making you think that you are some video game god. There are a lot of people on this forum that just need to accept that they are not as good at video games as they think they are.

Okay you can get on your soapbox and write an essay about why you think its okay for one side to be overpowered, but then dont complain when players choose not to stay in unwinnable games.

See your not pointing to anything. That 60/40? Maybe its because killers are working hard to murder everyone. Maybe survivors keep screwing themselves over and bloating it. Maybe it is easy, maybe not. What we do know is from personal experience is that killer has only been stupid easy once in the years we've been here and that time has passed. Right now its not as hard as before but saying killer is easy seems ridiculous unless your against people who are way below you or they sabotage themselves.

Killer.mains think it is not easy because every once in awhile they dont get a 3 or 4k.

  • @PuddleOfBludd said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3820328#Comment_3820328

They are supposed to have an advantage because they have to deal with four players. It’s not one versus one. You can’t balance a game to be in favor of the four because sometimes you get trash teammates. There is nothing that can be done that is going to help that situation. The only thing that you as an individual can do is play with friends or find people who you play with that are decent enough at the game and add them to your friends list so that you can play with people that you can depend on.

And if you don’t think that the player who is ALONE should have an advantage over a team of four, then you are part of the problem. Having four players is your advantage if you are playing solo and getting stuck with three garbage players like I said, start finding friends who are better at the game and you’ll see how much of a difference it makes.

Im not going to keep arguing because you are saying that I am saying something that I am not actually saying. I just hope you have fun playing easy mode.

  • @PuddleOfBludd said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3820323#Comment_3820323

Go play a different video game. Seriously just go play a different game. You’re trying to argue that in a game where one player is going against four players that each individual from the side with four players should be as strong as the side with one player and you somehow think that would be fair? Yeah, you definitely don’t need to be playing this game.

No thats not what im saying. Im saying that even after you take into account the 4 vs. 1 thing one side still has an insane advantage. And I'll play a different game when I feel like it thank you.

  • @PuddleOfBludd said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3820314#Comment_3820314

1v4 … your advantage is the 4. That’s why the one is stronger and it always should be that way. Everyone who complains wants to be able to defeat the one player by themselves and that is a ridiculous ask. You’re asking the game to be balanced around the fact that you ended up with bad teammates and again that is a ridiculous ask.

What is more actually the problem is there are a whole lot of people on here that just think they are a lot better at the game than they actually are and because they perform poorly they think that the game is at fault and not their own self. I hate to break it to you, but just because you think you should be looping killers like the streamers that you watch on YouTube doesn’t mean that you will. And no, the game does not have to be changed in order to make that be the case for you.

60% to 40% . 33% advatage. Thats all you need to know and the only argument that matters. Killers not only want to play in easy mode they want to pretend it isnt.

I was only saying that it really sucks OP had such a string of bad matches. We're told MMR is based on dying vs escaping through the exit gate, it doesn't matter how well or how poorly OP may have played in the matches, the simple fact they kept dying should, according to BHVR, lower their MMR and put them in a match from which they'll escape. So why didn't that happen? What is going on with BHVR's SBMM? Because even dying 25 times in a row shouldn't happen. Not if BHVR wants people to keep playing survivor, anyway.

Well I think once you pass a certain point you cant go back down or something? Thats what other people have said i dunno how it works. You are right though it definitely does not work well.

The answer i always get when i ask the question is.

    "because DBD is asymmetrical"

But nobody has ever been able to answer me, what about asymmetrical games is so special that this basic idea doesn't work?

Its not just that its assymetrical. Its that its assymetrical with one side having an insane advantage.

  • @supersonic853 said:

Considering overwatch just upped their dc penalty recently to ban you for up to a whole season. I went through a couple of games to see how their penaltys stack up to dbds. (None of these have a go next button like giving up on hook) I choose 3 games to start and if anyone has any other games they'd like to add they can.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/YXZTLS0RZ2BE/yqv1gf751q8y1712187580255.jpeg

Since this update blizzard has announced their leaver rate dropped by 90% meaning you rarely see a person just hop out of the match anymore. Their dc penalty just ramps up way faster than dbds does, and afking and griefing are strictly bannable (same as dbds)

Rainbow six siege even went further to give you a actual title based on how you play the game.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/Y57OK8FSFSU5/rdt-20241015-0727341075307971850094436.jpg

And the title restricts how long your penaltys are and what you can do in the game as well as you basically walk around with that title for others to see. So go nuts I guess. I haven't played this game in a while but I know after like 3 dcs in the same day when I last played it was like a week ban. And since this new system their leave rate has dropped by a good amount.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/3Y8YETI1DAWF/low-priority-queue.jpg

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/RSTTGOOG21FU/leaverbuster-afk-warning.png

League has something called the leaverbuster which they use to keep people in matches and if they want to leave they won't be viewed as the same as others for que times. So if people want to leave, they can. Just the people who commit will probably get faster matches than they do.

    https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/LeaverBuster

These games don't even have the option to abandon early like the hook system. So they mostly punish for afking, griefing, and dcing. (Sound familiar?) And they come with their own flaws as well. I don't see why dbd wouldn't be able to follow this example and see a benefit as well. And i rarely see complaints with these systems because "i wanna play and leave when I want" coming up. People act like improving stuff in the game will stop people from leaving in most cases (though I've seen people go next on unrelenting freddy). I personally think removing the die on hook system and increasing the dc penalty ramp up will do just the same.

Everything you just wrote doesnt matter. Bhvr. is not going to do what you want because they know survivors will stop playing if they are trapped in every unwinnable game in this horribly balanced game. If you want to play baby easy mode you'll have to put up with it, if Bhvr. ever actually balances both sides properly then maybe anyone that matters would give your proprosal the time of day. Its funny reading the circle jerk of killer mains comparing this game to actually balanced games

  • @Thusly_Boned said:

That's what it was designed to be. It's an asym horror game; as a survivor, death is supposed to be the more likely outcome, like in a horror movie (whether it's actually scary or not isn't relevant). Not so likely that it's oppressive, but certainly not a 50/50 coin flip. Escape is meant to be an accomplishment.

Balance is a relative term, and 60/40 is what the devs are going for, to keep in the spirit of the game. Relatively speaking, DBD is closer to balance than it ever has been. But perfect balance isn't as was never the goal. I mean it's an RNG dependent 4v1, for god's sake.

I'm not sure why so many people have a hard time wrapping their brain around this.

If people want a nice evenly balanced competitive experience, they are looking in the wrong place for it. That isn't what DbD is, or was ever intended to be (or likely ever will be).

I play mostly survivor at this point (probably like 60/40 over the past year), and I am fine with it, because it's what the game is supposed to me. If I wasn't, I'd go play something else.

And frankly, anyone stressed out and wringing their hands over the fact it's not 50/50 should probably just move on.

Well then people are going to keep dcing or killing themselves on hook. Hope you are not one of those who whines about that. And it is not more balanced than it has ever been, stop lying please.

... but did you try playing the lute?

Seriously, though, this seems like really bad luck. I've never gone 50 matches without seeing multiple friendly, farming, AFK, and/or in-way-over-their-heads baby killers.

You must be really low mmr. Actually its only posts like yours that make me think mmr is not actually a myth in this game.

Can you actually list how its "baby mode easy" instead of saying so? Can you list actual facts in-game? Not what this or that streamer did. What you have done yourself or what you think makes killer easy.

Well i would agree because when i play killer it is quite easy. When I play (solo que) survivor it is very hard. The statistics also prove it. 60% to 40%. No need for logical argument when simple arithmetic easily proves it.

  • @Grigerbest said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3819469#Comment_3819469

If you are losing 8 games out of 10 - your MMR will be so low that you are going to be matched with VERY unexperienced killers and escaping the same amount until you reach "YOUR mmr cap".

With 60-64% killer "win-rate" - it suppose to be 6 out of 10.

I hate the sentence: "Skill issue" - but if you dying more than 6 out of 10 games all the time - you either on much higher MMR than you supposed to be, you just playing bad\making a lot of mistakes, or killers (somehow\unlikely) tunneling exactly YOU all the time…

I can assure by my experience with soloq - MMR system is working. If I got killed in 4 matches in a row (doesn't matter how) - my next 2 or 3 matches I'm usually escaping because I get matched with "not really" experienced killers. Which is almost the exact 60-64% of the opposing side "win-rate".

A lot depends on the player's skill, and honestly… Luck. When it comes to soloq.

The thing is your logic doesnt really work because even if you are getting matched with worse and worse killers you are also getting matched with worse teammates as well. This is assuming mmr is even working, the quality of the killers and teammates I am matched with seem to depend more on what time of day I am playing then whether I have been on a winning or losing streak.

  • @Massquwatt said:

I don't think it's a balance issue, for the most part the game is at it's most balanced it's ever been. So it's either a fundamental issue of the game or a behavioural one. I'll choose the latter since I personally think so, for every person that kills themselves on hook or dc's for justified reasons there's at least 8 more that'll just give up for the most inane reason and that isn't from balance, that's just entitlement. I'm still of the opinion that a low-priority queue would solve a lot of problems with people giving up too early. People who engage in that kind of behaviour regularly can go play in low-priority queue with others that are just like them. They'll quickly realize their ways and stop that, or they'll be banished there for a good while. Either way, win/win for the rest of us.

Killer mains always say the game is the most balanced it has ever been. Explain how 60% kill rate to 40% escape rate is balanced please.

  • @GannTM said:

Whenever I see someone say the game is killer sided, I assume they’re a survivor main and vise versa. I know a lot of people aren’t ready to hear this, but the game isn’t favored towards either side. There are just many variables that could skew the advantage towards one side in certain matches. The game isn’t balanced at all really and it affects BOTH sides.

What are you talking about. Killer players are so delusional, its like a psychosis, they refuse to admit the game is killer sided even though the freakong devs say it is.

Windows (of opportunity) should just be basekit

The hot takes thread is down the hall and to your left. In all seriousness, and as a survivor main i would love this but it would be way too powerful to be justified.

I doubt it would actually be but if it was they could buff killer to compensate in some way. Making it basekit (with ability to turn off) would help lower the gap between solo que and swf.

  • @GonnaBlameTheMovies said:

It's not really Killers that are the issue, or the Kill versus Escape rates. No.

It's just the same thing Survivors have told Killers for years now rehashed and the same things Devs did to Killers back then rehashed - stop playing in a way where you HAVE to win to have fun, these nerfs are actually buffs, see?. The Devs are clearly, CLEARLY trying to take this game in a more casual direction, everything screams it. The game is not meant to be competitive just because the player base is and because there is a versus element, it's meant as a casual versus game.

Wanting to win a bunch is by definition, not casual. If your mindset as either role is to win a bunch or you feel like you HAVE to win to have fun at the role, your mindset is way too sweaty. So yes, this horror game is 100% asking Survivors to be okay with, and up to the challenge of, trying to do their best against a foe they can't beat. The game for Survivor isn't meant to be about winning, it's meant to be about TRYING.

Well its not going to be. So expect survivors to keep dcing or going next on hook and don't complain about it.

It's funny when survivors are complaining about 4 aura perks meanwhile they use windows of opportunity or aura perks to see the killer.

aura reading is much stronger on killer than survivor. and windows should just be basekit.

I've honestly been playing more solo queue lately after avoiding it for years, and being forced to play solo queue due to my friends moving on with their life and doing other things and to be honest, I've been having tons of fun with it. I get the occasional match where I'm wondering what's happening when the team is down or making no progress. But for the most part, it's been good. I've escaped the vast majority of matches, seen a different variety of killers and also had fun looping against them (normally loop up to 2-3 gens, or even less if the killer is aware that they have to put pressure on other survivors and will leave me). Also, I've had good moments where I've remanded stealthy avoiding a chase and that's worked… It's not all about gaining the killers attention all the time, that's something people should learn…

Also using exaggeration in your message for "101 aura perks" just makes me not want to even treat this post seriously, I'm just seeing it as the average user that have "loads of hours" complaining. If you're tired of the game, have a break and come back when you're better frame of mind…

What region/ mmr are you in that you escape "vast majority" of matches in solo que? Or was this a sample of like 5 games? Doesn't pass the smell test.

I don't know what is happening there at BHVR, but i came back to DbD, to spook some kids for holloween. But, every single time i play chucky (my main)… I get disconnected from server…. EVERY….. SINGLE…… TIME…… and to that extent, I'm usually doing very good… then, i get DC'd by some sort of server error (or some butthurt kid DDOSing).. then i gotta sit through some sorta matchmaking lock, for something that wasn't my fault, other than being good……. get your stuff together BHVR..

Also, just wanted to note, something fishy has been going on since my return (its only been approx 6 months, or less).. nothing has changed on my end, so it's gotta be server side, but changing characters, and loading has begun taking much much longer… before dracula, it would be instant, now, its like 15+seconds just to switch between characters… again, I know it's not my end, cause everythings still up to date… also…

Did you guys make everything brighter or something? I remember when I started (back when the latest killer was pig) and everything was dark and creepier.. Now, it kinda seems like disneyland, and the game itself has completely lost its horror feeling, dipping too hard into 'esports' territory, people pleasing and appeasing the 'balance'.. It's like DBD has lost its soul… it's heart of being, an asymetric, HORROR game. I miss the days when it actually felt scary to play as survivor… I remember my first time, i was against a freddy…. my heart was in my throat, and sweating all over… now, just simply due to the visual changes, it's become very bland, and not scary or creepy in the slightest… #bringbacktheHeart …. stop giving into all the 'whaaaa i can't see or hear things because its too dark'… THATS THE POINT… ITS A HORROR GAME… back when the 'frosty eyes' was all you could actually see from the distance of some killers..

    Love from,

    Kable

Killers whined so much that they could not find survivors so Bhvr. really did turn it into disneyland. That wasn't good enough though so now killers also have almost unlimited aura reading / wallhacks as well.

Running perks means you have the same mentality as a cheater?

Who's your yoga teacher? You're REALLY good at stretching.

Well in the case of using it when it is bugged at least its not even debatable. Unless you think the potential energy exploit was fine as well.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

It sounds more like "i dont like this perk, i dont think it should be in the game" to me.

I dont even play that often anymore and i still dont have any problems countering it.

The perk is broken in 2 different senses. It's overpowered and NOT easy to counter, and its bugged. So you are doubly wrong. I basically consider any killer who brings the franklins weave combination, even before it was bugged, as having the same mentality as a cheater. If we're going to let killers have all the most broken ######### imaginable then bring back buckle up for the people, bring back the bugged potential energy. With this new update Bhvr. has.made the game even more killer sided and I don't see how Bhvr. will get the message unless survivors stop playing or just start killing themselves on first hook every game.

Thanks at least us survivors managed to get the game about .0001% less killer sided.

it's funny that, after playing Chaos Shuffle as both sides for a while, you can see how killers are still able to adapt to playing without the aura "crutches" far better than average survivor without perks like WoO and Distortion. It really is crazy

    @A_T_E said:

Ah, is it that time again?

    Another thread salty about aura-reading.

Aura-reading isn't guaranteed to find Victims, but if it happens, ask yourself: "What should I do, if the Killer finds me?"

You run. Also known "a chase".

So run some chase perks. Vault perks, speed perks, etc.

Give it a try, you'll feel a lot better.

Too bad Bhvr. has ruined their game and made it impossible for survivors to do well in chase or anything else no matter what perks they have. People are just going to keep giving up more and more and i don't blame them at all.

They've killswitched problematic perks before that were bugged. This is game breaking because it literally makes it impossible for one side of the players unable to discern whether it not they are actually safe or not. I don't see HOW that's not gamebreaking. It gives an unfair constant advantage.

Bhvr. wants this game to be unplayable for survivor. Why, I do not know, but it is so obvious.

  • @upsideinsanity said:

It is bugged but its just the icon showing on your screen all the time when you pick an item up, they do not see your aura the entire time. Easy solution - don't pick up items. This is why I dont bring items into matches anymore because frankies/weave is everywhere.

No. Survivors are done with killer gaslighting. Until Bhvr. fixes their game survivors are going to keep giving up and i don't blame them one bit. So you know what you can do with your "don't pick up items" advice. (I'm talking about all the ways Bhvr. has made the game unplayable for survivors. This is just one example of that.)

The reason I switched to killer was due to many reasons.

    1. Survivors ratting out fellow teammates
    2. Inconsistent delays in skill checks
    3. Looping around killer being boring and pointless if no one does gens
    4. Survivors suicide on hook
    5. Survivors all trying to go for flashlight saves instead of doing gens
    6. All survivors are exactly the same, pointless changing characters.
    7. Survivors body blocking teammates in corners
    8. Survivors doing individual tasks such as cleansing totems for a challenge

I think these are the real issues that survivors should be complaining about, not slugging, tunneling, camping, aura perks, op killers, basekit mori, regres perks, noed, map design or whatever else so many survivors feel they need to complain about.

Most of the issues is due to survivors own teammates. I switched to killer and never looked back. I still do survivor time to time for tomes and things like that but I see the survivor role as a Mickey mouse role not to be taken seriously. It's more fun going into a match with that mindset thinking "meh probably not going to survive but will go for the challenge and never know might escape". Going into a match with the "I want to win" mindset as a soloq survivor might not be the best approach and may result in a salty attitude developing over time lol.

Bhvr. is trying to.make survivors stop playing the game or switch to killer. Why they are doing this I do not know, but is obvious from their actions that they are. So good job, you are following Bhvr's guidance. I will keep playing survivor because I am more stubborn than is good for my mental health. Enjoy playing the game in easy mode.

You literally griefed your teammate by going AFK. Killer picked you up, you didn't struggle free, so he could just go around to find the last guy. If anything, you should be reported for this clip.

Lol. Reported for not struggling? Some people on this forum are truly delusional.

I don't think that is the case, though.

It is very unlikely that survivors giving up is being caused by the game's balance. That doesn't mean the balance is perfect, far from it, but several disconnects or hook suicides have nothing to do with scenarios where survivors are at a disadvantage.

As I've mentioned, I've had people give up against me while playing Pallet Freddy. I've had teammates who abandoned trials that were clearly winnable. And recently this has been happening way too much.

It's not necessarily balance on who is stronger although i think thats part of it. But its like edgarpoop was saying, the flow of the game is flawed. I would say in my games the vast majority of the time it happens the game was lost anyway. I think you just remember better the times when the game was winnable and it happens, but from my experience that is more the exception.

Lethal is like 8 seconds? You really shouldn’t be going down that quick let alone a second person lol.
If you aren’t waiting to see what killers are going to do then what’s the point in queuing up at all at that point? Someone has to go down sometime; or is that the only time you’ll stay, when there’s 3 gens done before the first hook? What if killers just start DCing if they don’t get a down in the first 40 seconds, no one will ever get to play a full match out.

Just for argument I would say if the killer gets one or 2 downs super early in the match survivors will have almost no chance to come back and win whearas if the killer doesnt get a down in the first 40 seconds it really doesn't affect their ability to still win in any significant way. Maybe against a super good team it would.

Yet you made an assumption about me to try and devalue my own thoughts, bit hypocritical of you.

The reason I say I feel killers have had to develop thick skin is because I’ve been playing since the console launch and things were so much more heavily in survivor favour and killers just stuck it out.
Now things are evening out and survivors quit way more than killers did when the balance was completely skewed against them, in my experience over the years of course. And survivors in my experience still quit back then because they got caught first or lost a mind game and went down.

If quitters are playing the game but quit when things don’t go their way then it screams they only have fun when they are winning and styling on the killer, and screw over their team if they misplay or get outplayed. It happens so early into the game that they don’t even know if the killer is going to tunnel camp or slug which is the usual excuse people give aside from crying killer op.

Things are not evening out though, it's just completely in killers favor. And when you say it was skewed against killer in the past, was it ever as bad as it is now for survivor, i.e. were the killrates at 40%?

Killing your self on hook and this are 2 completely different things.

This is clearly holding 1 player hostage to troll them to stroke you nonexistent Epeen.

Im just making the point they are both things you can do with the basic game mechanics so by Bhvrs. definition they are both perfectly fine. I'm not expressing an opinion on if Bhvr. is right for thinking this way.

Things get changed for reasons other than being considered "toxic". Flashlight spamming got changed because it could give people seizures, not because it was "toxic". I have no idea what mori canceling is, but if it got changed, it was likely because it was an unintended bug, not because it was considered "toxic". I stand by my comment that anything not specifically mentioned in the rules as bannable is acceptable. The only thing they need to do is tell us what is bannable, not tell us everything that we are allowed to do in the game.

Yes and suiciding on first hook is also perfectly fine.

I mean some people say that without exhaustion they ended up becoming better at looping so that 80% wouldn't last too long.

Iv played with and without exhaustion perks. If you're playing against a really good killer player who is also one of the killers with an anti loop it will be hard to last long in chase on most of the maps these days. Now against a basic m1 killer maybe but that still depends on getting a decent map. Besides that there is still the question of why we would be nerfing survivor more when they're already at such a disadvantage.

Teach me your secrets, please. How do I keep the average chase around 20 seconds? I am genuinely curious because it seems that I missed something very important in this game's design.

20 seconds per hit is closer to the truth and even that is cutting it close on some killers. I mean, when I play Freddy I'm happy to get a hit after 30-40 seconds. And that's with STBFL because otherwise I'd need even longer just to catch up after a hit.

I mean you are playing freddy. The average is from all killers so freddy probably has some of the worst stats for this.

It's not about tilting in favor. It's about seeing the major flaw of allowing 4 exhaustion perks in a game based around the base movement speed. The simple fact of allowing a free speed boost causes so many balance issues for the game to where more killers would be added specifically to counteract the mechanic by either making them a dash killer to end chases quicker.

I mean the game is unbalanced that ship has sailed. At this point if you gpt rid of exhaustion perks it would make it almost impossible for survivors. I wouldnt be surprised if kill rates went up to 80% or something.

When your playing Killer, High MMR is so frustrating, my gaming session is filled with VAC Banned players every other match which leads me to believe these people are possible DBD Hackers, Im led to believe they are hacking when we get into chase and it always seems like they can read my movements thru walls. Now I play survivor and im well aware of the red glow from killers and im also aware of using holes in loops to see where the killer is and when I play survivor I admit its pretty easy to prolong a chase around obstacles however, I have no idea in the heat of a match who is a subtle hacker and who is legit. I have been pretty successful in my reports against subtle hackers from the feedback I've been recieving from BHVR but this is getting very old fast. I hate MMR. Im at a point I only want to play survivor because of the MMR all of my killers are stuck at. I typically get 2-3ks in my killer matchs and I have even noticed some of the survivors I go up against are in Comp Teams or Big name TTV's….im so tired of playing these super intense matchs and its so much chiller as a survivor.

Are there any plans to make Killer a little less stressful? Again, the hackers hasnt been addressed and im guessing most likely never will so whats the plan?

Why are you complaining if you normally get 2-3k. How tilted in your favor do you need before you'll be happy. And people wonder why DC's and hook suicides are so high.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

Unfortunately most players won't heed this. I've seen so many people message me back, "Don't tell me how to play my game." You know, using the most bare bones justification. Not saying it's not a justification, but it's heavily copout leaning. I just don't understand turning on the game, joining a lobby, starting the match, and then just not playing.

People are sick of how.unbalanced the game is in favor of killer. Thats basically all there is to it. They probably feel like "why should I have to quit playing the game because Bhvr. blatantly favors one side over the other". They're just trying to get to one of the small percentage of matches that are actually fun.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

It counts as holding the game hostage and is reportable. Here's one instance (there are many) of a mod saying so:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/9Q46N2K2E5TB/hostage-eqwashu-2024-08-23.png

As for what a killer can do in this instance… not much. Finding the survivors is dependent on bringing the right perks, otherwise you're searching every corner and locker. The devs need to fix this in-game.

    @jajay119 said:

This topic comes up once or twice a month and it’s always toted as an easy fix and suggestions are always something that gives the killer yet more of an advantage. The issue is caused by things being stacked against the survivors and an expectation the killer is going to slug for the 4K. It needs to be addressed in a way of balances that and allows normal gameplay to continue in a way that is fair.

Yes the game is so ridiculously killer sided now and people want to make it more so. Balance the freaking game it will help so many things like making dc's and hook suicides go down. Its like im only playing in solo que anymore out of stubnorness and hope that Bhvr. will eventually fix their game.

And also even though everyone posts that quote no one has an example of anyone being banned or even warned for that. Probably because Bhvr. knows it would be ridiculous to punish a survivor for doing their objective i.e. trying to survive.
