How was old Dead Hard a crutch perk? its a worse sprintburst, easier to bait out and you knew everyone had it so its 1 perk slot wasted

    You can’t be serious

  • @Gamall said:

Due to the reduced Cooldown time after a successful hit and to reduced duration of the Survivor speed boost when hit, the perk achieved a higher resonance. Now the cooldown even after few stacks is tremendously ridicolous, the surv literally does not gain any distance and if you do not have a safe zone, the chase literally lasts 10 seconds. "Eh but the killer must hit the obsession sooner or later", well I see that many killers avoid it on purpose or simply go on m2 whenever possible, so the argument does not hold. Not to mention the fact that if they decide to tunnel the obession from the beginning, you have the perk practically at its maximum power all the time. Reducing the number of stacks or the gap between them could already be an idea imo

i really don’t want to I love ten stacks on demogorgon😂

How do you define a crutch?

I've seen a few popular definitions.

    1. Something that lets you play above your skill level and gives you rewards you didn't work for.

Now, far be it from me to ask how you can arbitrarily define someone's skill level and how much they do or don't deserve a perk's rewards. But isn't this what literally every perk does? Adds rewards for things you're already doing? At what point do you suddenly stop deserving the rewards, and who's the judge?

    2. Something that helps in literally any tangible way.

An opinion I'm sure we've all come across a couple times. Even if it doesn't make sense. Especially if it doesn't make sense. Flip flop? Crutch. Third seal? Crutch. If you can't play perkless, why are you even playing?

    3. Something that's annoying ME at the particular moment.

This one's an interesting one. While what annoys people is usually something strong and you'll hear the same old perks being yelled about, the quiet seethes against weaker perks does make itself known sometimes. To moderate confusion.

    4. Whatever I can say you're mad about losing so I can ignore whatever you say.

This one's gotten popular the past few days. Schadenfreude is apparently a good community building exercise.

As for my personal opinion about what a crutch is, I'd have to say a crutch is Jesus Christ shut up and let people use good perks without shaming them to salvage your brittle ego.

    Old dead hard and noed

Even if using Discord in a full team of coordinated loadouts-people is obviously cheating.

You know, imagine having free auras on you as Killer.

How many times do people have to tell you that swf isn’t cheating for you to get that through your head? Do we need Cote to tell you that?

  • Seems right to me lmao. And actually it’s 99% you let someone go remember?

Survivors never complain about SFW and Discord though.

No one is gonna take someone that says swf is cheating seriously.

  • @AcelynnBen said:

beside the fact that its really not

its the still the same for people who didn't use the "crutch perks"

sure SoloQ might be a bit rough but the game still feels the same in fact i've seen more ghostfaces lately, even i enjoy playing him atm, you know things have changed when you see ghostface which was extinct before this patch

I played serval games on survivor today, and honestly i manage to escape and the killers weren't bad hell they were cancerous but not to the point of unplayable

So my dear tryhard sweaty devoted survivors, learn and adapt, just like you told every single killer mains here who complained about something that was obviously broken or saying JUsT GiT gOoD, well maybe its time you do the same

and im not seeing people here complain about perks, im seeing complain in GENERAL, so you wanna return to 30 mins of waiting for a game on survivor and 4 seconds on killer, and more games of only blight or nurse, because if that's the case i mean....we might as well limit the game to only those 2 killers

im gonna be honestly i can give hatch right now and feel good, hell if you use dead hard and somehow manage to get it, you HAVE MY RESPECT, you managed to pull something really hard and i might even lay off you, unlike before where i just see a dead hard and just die inside

TL:DR ADATE ya damn genrushing, epilepsy causing, pallet dropping, snoot booping, tweaking near the exit door with an obvious bloodwarden numnuts, seriously just wait a bit and someone will find some broken build and everything will go back to how it was

    probably

Another horrible take from you but no surprise

    • pressuring another gen is never a waste of time.
    • you are not playing 1vs1 but 4vs1. If your team is not helping you by cleansing the obvious totem that everyone can see that’s not the killer fault.

What’s the point of cleansing the totem when you can’t even save the person in the hook? Against any other killer except for maybe Billy sure but against bubba?. You get downed by noed and it’s over that’s the point. The only way to prevent noed is by doing all the totems and there’s no way to do that vs a bubba that’s camping. Also you are wasting time looking for a new gen. Bubbas camping is busted and it needs to be nerfed. With noed and dead lock you probably get only 1 escape if your lucky

  • @Murgleïs said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3085675#Comment_3085675

    • Deadlock : pressure another gen and come back to the blocked gen later. Blocked gens don’t regress. You are not losing any time.
    • Noed : break the totem, you can now see the aura.

With gens taking longer, looking for a gen waste time especially with the hook timer being the same.

yeah let me cleanse the hex totem while I’m being chased. That’s what happened to me last time I went up against a camping bubba. After the last gen was done I got downed by noed and I even got it on video. So now the “counterplay” you laid out doesn’t work. Not to mention that you can’t rescues someone off the hook with him just standing there

  • and what are you supposed to do about noed or if he has deadlock? Actually come with counterplay

  • @Tostapane said:

To be precise i don't want swf in regular matches... As I said before it could still be a used feature in custom matches, but normal ones should be only solo q players.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3084748#Comment_3084748

Eh, maybe you aren't wrong, I versed too many swf bully squads and until now the only killers that could gave them what they want are the usual 2 killers and bubba. Anyway the things that I've mentioned aren't all 2nd chances perks, but I can assure you that it feels extremely unfair when those things happen, especially when you know that you don't deserve it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3085102#Comment_3085102

Absolutely not. I already did a couple of examples of why swf are a problem in the 1st answers in that thread.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3084814#Comment_3084814

Also this. Those matches are more common that you will expect.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3084759#Comment_3084759

Again, typical answer for people that play only a single side

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3084684#Comment_3084684

True, certain maps are simply unplayable with certain killers

“To be precise i don't want swf in regular matches... As I said before it could still be a used feature in custom matches, but normal ones should be only solo q players.” Gee I wonder why. That very well sounds like someone that wants to win every single game since solo que is so week. Thank god the devs won’t listen to you because your ideas are horrendous

  • @CyberRoninX said:

Killers that keep letting survivors win are doing nothing but messing with the numbers. When killers do this they just pad the metric that the devs are looking at to decide how to buff or nerf things. I personally will waste a killers time instead of them allowing me to escape.

    No

  • @Vetrathene said:

Bring Kindred. Bring Bond. Bring BT and OTR. Hell, bring DS and OTR and they will stack! Sure its only 3 seconds, but then you also have OTR. There are ways to get around it. You just have to be willing to invest if those are the things you are worried about.

Wasting perks slots to counter game flaws

  • @hailxsatanxeveryxday said:

Clown. I've been running Brutal Strength/Bamboozle/STBFL/Call of Brine with Flask of Bleach and Ether 15%. There are no chases, only downs.

Brutal Strength is actually a useful perk now, since running it is like having old Brutal Strength with a couple of Fire Up stacks, except you don't actually need to run Fire Up, and you get it at the beginning of the game. (Fire Up in place of Call of Brine is also highly effective in this build, but Clown needs some information and potential for slowdown, and Call of Brine synergizes with Brutal Strength and provides both.)

Legion went down a tier, in my experience. Thana buff is extremely overrated. On the other hand, Ruin/Undying/Thana/Pentimento isn't an effective combo anymore. Legion was A-tier with 200% autoregression and/or 30-50% gen slowdown the entire game.

The Overcharge buff brings a lot to the Impossible Skill Check Doctor build. Easy 4K if you have the right map addons.

Oh yes clown definitely improved with this update

  • @Crowman said:

I think in particular. Clown got a lot out of the update. Faster cd from M1 hits with his slow bottles with faster pallet breaking means that survivors really aren't getting away from Clown.

That’s a good point! Stbfl is also good on him

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3082884#Comment_3082884

Before she was D-tier. But honestly? Even with the buffs she got last time to her addons, I would place her in the lowest of C-tier. This is because her ambush ability does nothing against survivors who just hold W. Against better survivors you are essentially a slower m1 killer with slowdown. A lot of her addons still suck too. The stealth can sometimes help, but is also kinda weak.

The only thing that makes her strong is when running tampered timer and crate of gears. But again, she is an m1 killer. They might be stronger without dead hard, but they can still be dealt with very easily.

Yeah I hear you mate. Still her being better now than before is a step in the right I direction. Maybe they can make her m2 more lethal m?

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

Demogorgon already was A tier, but he was the worst A tier Killer. Now he's mid-A and that's perfect.

Demogorgon just needs a few Add-On reworks (and 1 base-kit buff, but that's a maybe at best) and he'll be the most perfect Killer in DbD

I’m just happy that demogorgon who’s not even in the store no more still finds a way to be one of the better killers in this game

  • @Mister_xD said:

Baseline, I don't think anyone in particular, as everyone received the same basekit buffs, so their growth is the same across the board.

However, when taking Perk synergies into account, I do think Demogorgon slightly moved up the ladder due to its great synergy with Save The Best For Last and also Legion and Plague are slightly better now due to the Thanatophobia buff. MAYBE Nurse, because the number one counter Perk to her, Dead Hard, is now gone (then on the other hand, I don't think the other chase related buffs help her at all so that's a bit of tough one).

But outside of that I don't think any Killer in particular is in a better place than before (in terms of tier lists). But maybe I'm forgetting someone?

The legion plague point Is very Intresting. You could have made it about basekit or with perks. I just wanted to see what other people would say and who they would pick

I want to see Pinhead's win rate against four solos.

Gens being slower definitely made him go from B to A also in my opinion

  • @Yords said:

All of them technically. Without dead hard I do feel like I am more threatening with Pig, or any other m1 killer. However they still do suck and still need full changes or reworks.

Pig's change/buff to her traps should not be seen as a rework, or massive buff. She still needs a rework to COMPLETELY remove RNG from her power. More consistent doesn't mean totally consistent, which is what every power should be like.

Ok so where did you think pig was at before and where would you place her now?

  • @AarcvanDemen said:

Their perks got changed and now they're unhappy with the results. Their actions now get backlashed because their bully mechanics are hardwired in their brain and doesn't apply in this game anymore. Sorry about your twitch views but that's a hard pill to swallow for most.

No, you can't bully the killer no more, even if you're going to use Boil Over every match.

    Have a nice day 🙃

    Cringe

  • @Rovend said:

Dont get me wrong, i knew it was op but hear me out.

Yesterday i played 10 dbd matches mostly soloQ, 5 out of 10 were Thana Legions with perks like Sloppy butcher, eruption, deadlock, jolt, dms and of the other 5 were also thana killers with slowdown perks (thana plague, thana oni, thana blight) and let me tell you, i am bored as F of this new meta.

Thana legions are extremely hard to win against if you dont have like some gen rushing build to somehow counter all the slows they get to you, and the mayority of games consists in them dragging the game as long as possible until you literally throw yourself at them because you dont want to spend 40 min playing a single match . Most of them didnt even bother to chase me if i was injured like 5 feet away of a gen.

How useful was the old hatch for these kind of slow matches

At least you had the incentive of repairing 4 gens and look for the hatch with a key, or 3 if there were only 2 left, but now:

    The game starts

One of the survs gets tunneled/facecamp

You are left with 3 surv at 4 gens, 3 gens at best

Slowdowns begin to stack, killer camps 3/4 gens

You already now that you are not going to escape with door

Begins a hide 'n seek where you hope your teammates die so you can try nerfed hatch

70% killer finds hatch first, you die, next game.

This are my games right now

I hate the challenges that require you to open hatch with a key

  • @kaskader said:

Are some of you guys seriously crying about 10 more seconds to generators? i barely notice the difference its bitching and crying over nothing.

I also see a lot of survivors crying about killers tunneling more (like i didn't warned that would happen after the update in my previous posts) as long devs don't understand the killers need a reason and reward to not camp and tunnel this strategy will never go away... Also survivors got a new perk that is ds on steroids which is off the record (and yes you can stack them both to be untouchable).

And the cherry on top is crying about dead hard nerf... If you were addicted on dead hard to not go down in 10 seconds then im sorry but its only a skill issue and only solution is just git gud and learn how to loop.

Not even gonna say killer perks also got nerfed into the ground (which is a good thing).

And also the mmr is broken right now and simply doesn't work which might be a real cause of all of that nonsense going on.

Reward not to camp? They buffed killers hard in this patch and they nerfed the most OP perk in this game dead hard. What else do you want? 1 million bps per every game you don’t camp and tunnel?

  • When did they do that? Because it’s gotten worse

  • @Tostapane said:

... and people still think that SWF isn't the main issue of the game. whenever i look at the forum i see always the same things: survivors who complain about killers being buffed/tunneling/camping/etc etc and killers complain about survivors who genrush/abuse 2nd chances perks/bully squads with flashlights/etc etc. Both problems have something in common: swf. you are probably wondering how... well, killers wouldn't probably feel the need to play in certain (unfunny) way if swf wouldn't exist (mainly due to the HUGE amount of toxicity and disadvantages that they must endure when aganist those kind of teams) and survivors would have probably be buffed accordingly since swf wouldn't screw up the statistics... imo SWF shouldn't be in the game (or to be more precise... it should be available ONLY in custom matches)

Yeah I’m not listen to someone that was defending bubba camping at five gens.

How about ash dcing 2 seconds into the game and this demogorgon starts to slug and hit on the hook. Solo is terrible. Bvhr fox your matchmaking because right now it’s pathetic

  • @konchok said:

If a player is playing by themselves (Solo Q) Let them see who the killer is when they queue up for a match.

There are some problems that this could introduce, so lets clear those up right away.

    1. Pre-game chat is disabled, to stop you from sharing this information with the other individuals who are queuing up
    2. If you dodge a lobby you lose the ability to see who the killer is for the rest of the day

But, I hear you ask, won't this unfairly punish specific killers?

Yes, it is true that this is intended to give solo survivors more of an edge in their games. But the killer will be in a match with solo survivors, the killer is already at a huge advantage. This will just help solo survivors to prepare a bit better before the match starts. They may be able to grab a flash light if they verse a hag or decide against using no mither against an Oni.

This isn’t the way to buff solo que

  • @PaintedDeath said:

Remember, this is a game and you don't have to play. If someone is being skeezy and playing like a garbage person, just give up. Give them hook, end the match and move on. Don't give them the satisfaction, they can choose to not play like that, you can choose to not play at all.

I thought it was gonna say "said no one ever" when I clicked on it..

Im not sure if you've actually played solo queue, its not about not being SWF or being more close to the lore or immerse in the game, its about not being balanced for solo survivors. Solo surviving was bad before the changes, we complained about it before all these changes, we arent crying cause they got rif of "crutch" perks, its because they destroyed the few perks we had to help balance the lack of communication.

We don't have teammates to tell us where the killer is, if they are being chased, if its safe to unhook, ask for someone to take a hit if we are being tunneled, we rely on perks for that, we use spine chill to know if the killer is close, iron will to try and lose the killer if we dont have teammates to take hits for us or help us if we are being tunneled, etc. and now they are mostly useless, the few things we had were nerfed and solo queueing is worse than it ever was.

If we are lucky we get competent players or 3 SWF with us, which rarely happens, even if its not "lore accurate" wether u want it or not its a team based game, all survivors need to work together to open the door, each accounts for themselves when it comes to surviving at the end of the day but they all need to work together to do gens and unhook, without it they can't escape. So yes, we need those perks.

    We need dbd content again!

Legacy portraits, lethal purser buff and prestige system

  • @NoirGhost said:

So with the new AOT collab and having enjoyed the anime, I decided to get the Hange skin since I thought it was my favorite out of them. But after playing games while wearing it, I had many instances where survivors let me die on first hook or times where the killer would tunnel me the moment they saw me and then proceed to face camp me.

At first I simply thought this was dbd players being dbd players and didn't think it had to do with my skin. But as it kept happening and had certain moments like in where a survivor would come to unhook me but once they got a clear view of who I am they would simply run back.

When I shortly played with another survivors with a non AOT skin, these issues rarely happened. Once I went back playing with the Hange skin, these issues spiked right back up in frequency.

And then recently after a game with the skin in where I was left to die on hook again, around 15 minutes later I received a dm on my PS account saying "Next time don't support a racist and his antisemitic anime" which left me in shock. After searching online, apparent there are those who find AOT to be "antisemitic" and thus are ruining the games of players who even have just charms from the crossover.

Have any of you guys experienced thr same issues wearing anything related to AOT and is there any truth to the anime bring "antisemetic"

I haven’t experienced anything but I’m sorry that happened to you. I hope your games go better. Im also on PlayStation and I turned off my messages a long time ago for jerks like that

    Hello everyone!

I hope everyone's doing okay! I don't know if this post will reach the folks at BHVR between (quite) hot takes about the update, but I have to try as I'm one of those players who usually do not speak up in this forum.

    First things first

I thought I'd start with a quick introduction about myself. As the title says I'm a long-time DbD player. Funnily enough, I don't remember the exact day I started playing it! If I recall correctly, it was during a Halloween event before the Curtain Call chapter, so that'd make it either October 2016 or October 2017. The woman who was not yet my girlfriend (shoutout to you if you're reading this, sweetheart) introduced me to this new game in a tiny Kill Your Friends session. I was heavily mixed at first, but with a bit of time the game piqued my interest.

Today, I'm not far from 2.5k hours in the game. My knowledge of the game is in theory quite extensive (though not absolute of course), I can make plenty of mistakes in a match and I can make nice plays in another. I suppose all this makes me human ;) I didn't P3-50 every single character, chose to focus on characters I like more than others. I bought some DLCs with Shards and some others with actual money, but I don't own all the DLCs/Chapters.

In the matches I play, what I try to aim for is having fun (a noble goal that videogames want to reach). Sometimes it's been easy, sometimes it's been tough. Sometimes you stumble upon people who think first and foremost about their own fun, sometimes you see farmers, and sometimes you just have a blast against strong yet not unfair adversity, where you had to fight your way to victory without going into the sweaty territory. Many types of matches are to be expected in this game, you don't just face toxicity, hacking, cheating, exploiting and so on. All this aside, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. C'est la vie.

Last important thing to mention here: I play both sides equally. I think It's important as it allows you to know and understand both perspectives on top of having fun with two different gameplays.

    I was there

Like most of the games out there if not all, DbD had ups and downs. And all this time despite my "silence" I was there. Pallet vacuum? I was there. The then newly released Freddy Krueger who quickly received nerfs? I was there. The launches of some Chapters plagued with bugs (e.g A Binding of Kin)? I was there. The red skill checks version of Ruin? I was there. The launch version of The Legion's exploit? I was there. The pre-Realm Beyond maps? I was there, as I was for many things I forgot to mention.

Evidently, I was there to see the META becoming boring, stale. It needed to change, as it was working against one of the game's strengths: Its unpredictability (what perks are the other players going to be? What about the map and the tiles? What is the strategy I'd better use to increase my odds of winning?).

I'll admit I have also been here to leave a negative review on Steam, as I hardly saw how DbD could be appealing to new players with all the things going wrong with it, on top of a community plagued with toxicity. But I might have to edit it fairly soon.

    I wasn't there

As a human being, I don't pretend to be perfect. And in my opinion it's wise to do that. You see, I wasn't there.

I wasn't there to praise the team for The Realm Beyond initiative. I wasn't there to show them my gratitude for the release of chapters like Resident Evil. I wasn't there to express my enthousiasm when dedicated servers, crossplay, hit validation improvements and other technical enhancements have been implemented. I wasn't there to share my happiness about The Legion latest pass (Oh, they're coming let's crank the volume up to 11 it's headbang time). For many nice things I forgot to mention, I wasn't there.

With this 6.1 update, it's about time I address this just like the team addressed important things.

    To BHVR

As a videogame, though DbD doesn't pretend to be perfect there're still things to do to make it reach higher heights. And yet, you deserve these little messages.

    To the "art team"

As time went by you stepped up your game for this game, be it character cosmetics or the larger The Realm Beyond initiative. Some maps are GORGEOUS to look at, like the revamped Haddonfield and Eerie of Crows. DbD's "art team", thank you for delivering eye-candies.

    To the "tech team"

Just because you're working behind-the-scenes doesn't mean that what you're doing is meaningless. You've done a great deal to make the game run better, you're not just the guys and gals who deliver new bugs at every release. DbD's "tech team", thank you for bringing such important improvements to the game.

    To the "balance team"

You've been at the center of a love-hate relationship with the community. You've heavily been looked as biased, survivor-sided to some, killer-sided to others. But you also had such sights to show us. I do hope the 6.1 update is indeed the first step towards an actually balanced game, where killers are the true power role they're supposed to be and survivors got to try to find a way out of strong adversity in a fair situation. DbD's "balance team", thank you for your commitment, your dedication, your passion.

To the CM staff and everyone else from BHVR

Thank you for your contribution to this game, it counts as much as everyone else's.

    To Mathieu Côté

You can be proud, you're doing a pretty good job so far. Merci pour tout.

    Conclusion

Wow, I actually wrote all this ha ha. I have no clue if my post will reach them but I had to give it a shot, me a long-time DbD player who usually stays quiet. At least, my gratitude is expressed :P

I also would like to encourage the more positive side of the community to step up and show kindness to one another. We're living in a troublesome time so we should make DbD a better place. Call that part of my post cheesy all you want, but I do hope we can send a much better message to everyone else than "Oh DbD, it's that game filled with toxicity right?".

Thanks for reading, enjoy your matches!

Hello! And yes it’s nice to see someone give credit to the team

Is it just me, or did something about Jane's model change?

her thighs and posterior bulges in weird places, it almost looks like the joints in her 3D rig were scaled up without adjusting the base mesh.

I always liked her thicker build but the 3D model quality looks off now and im not sure if that's new?

    10/10 ass

I didn't say anything was wrong with the perks. I asked for tips to work around them. I'm confused by your response lol.

Yes but people predicted that after dead hard got nerfed that lithe and sprint burst would be complained about since they would be used more
