As usual - seeing how much suck one can mitigate in a game.

The best thing you can do is memorize the basement location and then play normally until a survivor is on third hook, on that hook you can just go to the basement with iron grasp and agitation and repeat the process for all four surivors
They wont avoid the basement if you dont play near it
This - if every time you race a survivor to the basement then linger around, they'll know what you are up to and avoid the basement like the death zone it is. Kind of like EGC saves - takes several games for lightning to strike, keep the challenge active and just let it happen.
But yeah challenges like these are not only very difficult at the 'better' ranks they are just plain unhealthy.
-
All I know is before dedicated servers - instant, after dedicated servers - few minutes.
I don't know if it is fewer killers - before I would run into the same killers over and over, but now I rarely see the same killer in a night, each one is different, which is fine by me.
-
Not sure why they removed them - even the best players can have a bad game (or two or three in a row) due to camping, getting tunneled into the dirt, disconnects, keys/mori, or just RNG into a bad lobby made even worse by the horrific matchmaking that goes on now.
-
I sometimes like to run Self Care, Botany, Resilience, and Distortion. It's fun. It is far too slow to run Self Care by itself.
-
Several updates ago - they decided to give huntress lullaby an advantage to her by making it non localized, you cannot tell where she is even when she is nearly on top of you.
-
Legion is another one I could live without - not so bad as when he first appeared, but he basically just craps on everything survivors have to defend themselves.
-
Kind of easy to just start up and go. Enough dynamics to keep interest and see if you can do just a little better next time.

I solo survive. If someone doesn't heal you when you teabag them after finding them with bond simply use that person to dump the killer on next time you get caught. I tend to trap people into healing me while they are on gens. If they don't then I leave them on hook. I am not saving your arse if you couldn't heal mine. Almost 90% of survivors I encounter will heal me when I bum dance by them. The other 10% get no help from me what so ever and I tend to leave while they are on the hook. Very satisfying.
I only solo and sometimes that gen needs to get done - so stop sandbagging be useful finish the gen, then you'll get your heal.

Hmm yes. Holding m1 is way harder than :
Learning how to be a great huntress
Using nurse on console
Learning spirit after the changes
Learning Trapper and hags optimal set ups
Learning to manipulate the red stain
Knowing when a pallet is safe or unsafe (this isn't as hard as the rest of these)
Learning to not lose people in the marrow fields (I mean corn fields)
You mean like learning how to counter each and every killer and their add on/perk combinations means nothing...sure.
-
Yeah slippery meat might have been useful when the game was new and you had a good chance of running into Trappers. Now it's pretty useless - with deliverance it is obsolete.
-
Killer there are two that are just tedious to go against - and since I dislike both equally I will list both:
Spirit - Majority of the mind game potential is on her side, unless you run a build specifically to counter her - it's mostly just pure luck against her in a chase. Boring.
Plague - Well no heals, no altruism from healing, playing a no mither round with the added annoyance of having to look at an ugly green splattered screen that obstructs your view the entire game.
Survivor - I could really live without most of them, there's not really a survivor that annoys me since they are just skins, but if I had to choose one it would be Jane's. They tend to be pretentious thinking they are all that and a cherry on top.
-
They should stare at you and you should feel bad.
-
Sure, after all it's not like survivors have challenges they want to finish and it's always great fun running into the 30th+ basement build killer in a row.

No, a person camping doesn't mean they have a toxic attitude. Maybe they just don't like chasing.
It's not up to you to judge people, as people, based on their playstyle.
Again - you not liking something =! that something being toxic.
'Maybe they just don't like chasing'.
lol then they are in the wrong business.
-
One should also realize that most killers do not want solos brought up to the level of SWF. They want SWF brought down to the level of solos.
-
That actually looks like a decent matching. Most of mine I get all colors of the rainbow for ranks.
And I'm going to disagree with 'escape the match using only No Mither' as a suggestion for challenges that don't cause players to ruin the match for others. I can just see loading into a game and seeing three other survivors with no mither. I will likely just give up right there - even one no mither tends to make me sad.
-
I mean there are more ways to distract a killer than just looping them - and we should not confuse stealth play style with fully immersed...the fully immersed just doesn't do anything or if they do they make sure there is no risk to themselves when they do it. A stealth player can waste a killer's time by having them look for them - killer knows someone is there, but the stealth player is good at keeping them guessing. Either way killer is being distracted the same.
There will come a time when one does have to get better at chases. Looping is a big part of that - it's really the only reliable defense survivors have, especially against tunneling.
-
There are many things not worth trying in this game - trying to burn a nurse is at the top.
-
I got it done pretty easily after a couple tries (puts a crimp in things if the killer chases you early).
Just run Bond as well and look for people working on gens, then go 'help' them. If you know multiple people are working on gens prioritize the one that is likely to be done first and be there, then move on to the next.
-
You can be immersed to a degree and still get stuff done - but the extremely immersed, they don't get anything done. They help the killer. Even though you hear mostly about gen rush, there's a time crunch on both sides - eventually the killer is going to kill everyone. Having a fully immersed player on the survivor side is like doing a 3 v 1 - killer is going to have the advantage.
-
I think they've always been on the list but now that pallets, BNP, flashlights, insta heals, Self Care, DS, MoM have been nerfed into the ground there's now time to gripe about mori and keys.
-
Just suicide on hook - now with the DC maybe lessened in favor of suicides, those games won't get thrown out and kill rate stats should shoot up even higher.

As someone who hid in a locker near a gate shortly before the last gen popped (because I was Rancor target) and was promptly sold out a few seconds later, I can safely say with confidence that not everyone in a locker deserves it.
That is why I said probably.
-
It means I'm checking that my mouse button works.
-
@TAG said:
Would suck if you accidentally revealed someone actually hiding in said locker. :P
Extremely low odds - besides if they do get yanked out of a randomly pointed locker, they probably deserved it.

Am I the only one who actually cares for other people's experience and game enjoyment...?
From most of the posts I've seen on this forum - yes.
-
Yeah slugging people to the point where they are crawling on the ground more than playing the game will go over well with keeping the player population healthy.
If they want to suicide on hook so be it - with all the other BS that goes on, the alternative is not to bother even playing this game.

Only reason killers are overperforming now because Survivors are getting dumber. Run Bond and you'll see the amount of incompetent mistakes getting thrown by 'Red rank' Survivors and this is something I noticed prior to the new matchmaking. The new matchmaking would just mix in even more french fries with the good survivors.
It's the same reason Killers only complain about SWF because the actual good survivors are banding up together because Random Q is such a Crap show. It's rare you'll face survivors that actually plays like red ranks nowadays.
Yeah right - it's always the survivors fault and not the matchmaking that lumps together survivors of vastly different experience levels. Least the killer does not have to rely on other people on his side to at least take some care of themselves.
Unless you can run a full 4 man swf which are not very common at all despite what some killers believe, one or two weak links on the survivor side is gg. Then EGC will just mop up the rest.

They’re 7k for a heal over time that completely depletes the med kit. Most med kits with add on will heal you faster than the pink one. They’re too expensive for something that is not that great. Survivors only get around 25k bp a game and that’s if the game was good, not using offerings or wglf. That’s almost half your points from a game.
They should of done it like they did BNP - does not deplete the medkit just uses the add-on.
-
It will be matchmaking.
-
Wah, society did not give me enough love so it made me into a dick and now I want to make everyone suffer. Please.
Does this guy even have a pair to jump on survivor for more than a few games to see how the other half lives, and not just to DC in the first 30 seconds or be so full of false bs pride as to ever touch survivor. At the very least it makes you a way better killer knowing what they can and cannot do, besides moaning about not being able to kill everyone just by showing up.
And if you are up against a bully squad look for the ones doing gens and hook those. They usually suck in a chase, just point your stupid face at a wall when you pick them up. You know the ones with flashlights aren't doing gens, you should be thankful they are saving you the trouble by bringing the party to you. Four flashlights in my lobby always brought a smile to my face cause it was going to be a good time.

Now thats some good tunneling
Or left to die on first hook, which is more likely.
-
Well if it's not potato survivors, it's inexperienced killers in those ranks who don't know anything beyond tunnel and camp. Usually both in the same game.
I'm questioning my life choice concerning this...again - time to retire solo? swf anyone?
-
You mean rank reset? Matchmaking doesn't seem to matter what your rank - as a red I commonly get lumped in with greens, yellows, and and occasional beige or whatever 16-20 is. It happens both ways (killer and survivr) but just last night the killer and I were red and the rest were greens, yellows and I'm not in swf ever (but maybe I should be). I'm sure that was a fine experience for them as they got decimated. It was so bad constantly having to save and pick up I almost felt like it was forcing me to farm and I still de-pip since I could do nothing else - killer would not even chase me the pickings were so easy.
But yeah solo Q is hell - and getting worse. Thanks BHVR.

@FancyMrB said:
The game is better without them, we don't need that kind of info. All it does is give people 1 more thing to flame fellow survivors for.
Another way of looking at it is it allows people to do the job that matchmaking is supposed to do.

@dnj510 said:
I'm indifferent on lobby ranks being presented to other survivors. I did however notice that when I was(and still am a rank 1 surv) paired up with much lower ranked survivors, they practically always got downed within the first 20 seconds of the match and eliminated no more than a few minutes of being in the match. I did sometimes dodge lower ranked survivors because that would decrease my enjoyment in the trial.
Yes it makes it hard to proceed through red ranks when you keep getting non-red ranks on your side, especially when the killer is also red rank. Toss in green or yellow ranks vs. red rank (killer or survivor) makes it likely they will de-pip and robs them of progress through their respective rank when it gets raided like this.
-
Hey I need something to do while waiting for EGC to kill me. Don't take my sabo option away.
If I ever sabo during the main game it is to immediately destroy a hook near the gen I am working on so the killer doesn't hook anyone there.
-
Killers are already racking up great numbers of free kills from EGC overall - I don't see the problem with survivors being smart about when to trigger it. 99% has always been a precaution for Blood Warden since the perk came out.
If 99% gates are a problem to you, then you got bigger problems than just that.
-
What you are seeing is the dark red in of the corner of her eye when she looks to the side during her lobby idle animation - gives the momentarily illusion she is cross eyed.
I agree it still looks bad, there is too much red in the corners of her eyes, but if you turn the model to where she is looking straight at you, you will see she is not cross eyed.
Now lazy eyed may be something, cause once in awhile it looks like her left eye just goes briefly in another direction (looking up and to her left) from what the right eye does, but that may also be an illusion.
Just too much red in the eye corners makes them look like pupils when she is not looking directly at you.
-
So then standard protocol for all survivors will then be to hide for 60 seconds after the last gen is done - every game.
Or does Blood Warden always reveal the aura of someone opening a gate - that is absurd.

Out of curiosity: Why do you prefer to wait 2 minutes for the EGC to kill you instead of letting yourself get killed by the killer and moving on the next match faster?
Well the first minute is to maybe find an unopened chest for a key - but then I usually find everything but a key. The rest of my time is spent destroying totems for 1k a piece and if I happen to have a tool box, hook sabotages for extra points. After that, it is just about time to die.

So I play both killer and survivor a lot. I kinda got bored with how easy killer has been lately and have been trying a couple meme builds and challenges, etc
I found myself deranking from not playing "competitively" and facing a few potatoes.
So unless I get BM'd or see someone being toxic to their team I try and let the "victims" escape/farm because I dont feel its fair not to.
My issue is that few survivors even say "ty" in the endgame chat. I could have easily killed them dozens of times over and they know it. I let them farm far more points than they would have gotten and put myself at a BP/pip loss to help them. I dont expect much but just a ty from at least one of the 4! Am I expecting too much? If I ever face a killer that is friendly I would never dream of leaving without saying ty immediately! Heck, most of my games I usually thank/praise the killer if they simply dont tunnel/camp! Should I just kill them even if its "unfair" to them? Like, is a simple "ty" too much to ask for...? I dont know why its getting so annoying for me but not one survivor has said "ty" tonight...
That's like - sure, I set your house on fire, but I also went in and rescued you - why don't you thank me???
A lot of killers might prolong the game to get more blood points themselves - and it's pretentious to feel you are owed a thank you. Even more pretentious you came to the forum to complain about not getting a regular thank you. Sounds like you are just grasping at reasons to start becoming a scummy killer. Just blame society and take the plunge already.
As a killer it is nice to get a thank you, but you should not expect it.

I actually love it when Survivors bring flashlight since majority nowadays have no idea how to use it. Just saves me the time to initiate a chase on another survivor across the map.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/908364#Comment_908364
Yes, That's the joke. Slight annoyed playing as a survivor instead of generators being done a guy was following me for a long time just waiting for me to get downed and still fail miserably at the flashlight save. Worst case scenario they also give the killer a free hit.
Bright side is I get a free flashlight after every match I guess.
Oh you were talking from the survivor perspective. When I saw doctor mentioned I thought you being cheeky killer.
Yeah, it's sad. I hate having to do flashlight challenges also - I think the light comes out the big end, but not sure.
-
I am scared - of going on a hook for a forced time out.
Making stronger killer won't make me more scared, adding random events like tripping over stones will not make me more scared, adding more jump scares will not make me more scared - all these will do is annoy me. The only times I am nervous are against killers I know are stalking me but I'm not sure where they are - but even then I am not going to be scared.
Humans have this thing called adaptability where they get used to anything and everything. Anything you create to make things more scary will last maybe a day and and half, then it will be business as usual. Especially in a game where the designers want chases and constant interactions to be a thing.
About the only game that maintained a decent level of scare for me for a long time was White Noise 2. Indie game where it was all in atmosphere and the paranoia level was high up there. Unfortunately dead now. You can still see youtube videos on it to get the idea.
-
EGC kills me more times than the killer. Common scenario for me - last survivor, killer finds hatch before I do, killer proceeds to patrol exit gates since they are usually right next to each other.
I find a nice quiet place to die.
-
Crazy - haven't played killer in a few months, but survivor used to be instant queue, now it's like 5+ minutes since dedicated servers are out.
I suspect they are holding us in some sort of lobby limbo until they collect everyone.
