  • Totally. What is that main building? What is that junk around the edges of shack? What is that car loop in the corner? This map is insane for survivors!

  • I'm all for scrapping gen defence and gen speed-up entirely. Then we'll really be able to see SWF gen speed vs solo.

Killers have basekit aura-reading. They can see the auras of gens. The killer needs either game sense or mechanical skill to justify one-shot downs. Wesker needs neither. Myers and Ghostface have no mobility and there's a lore aspect to their power. Billy needs mechanical skill and Leatherface needs to play tiles. Wesker is like none of these examples.

    So Wesker doesn't play tiles?

Tunneling is still SUUUUUPER easy, particular with the DS nerf.

If slugging becomes non-existent, I'd imagine there will be an uptick in camping/tunneling to compensate.

So I can just tunnel with Freddy and get a 4k?

  • @SkeletalElite said:

You did get the same treatment.

You know in the update that increased the kill rate to over 60%?

Y'all just throw numbers around and don't question why they came to be.

  • @I_CAME said:

61 percent kill rate and people think killer needs basekit perks. Lol.

Have you played killer lately, I mean really?

  • @Raccoon said:

Technically, killers have Brutal Strength Tier 1 and 2 permanent stacks of STBFL.

Probably not the perks you're looking for, but they are definitely there.

Long time coming, unlike survivors getting invincibility off hook and on the ground.

  • @jokere98 said:

STBFL doesn't work on blink attack (you get the stack, but it didn't reduces your cooldown)

It does only if you basic attack, like without blinking. But why would you do that? I know what you're saying though.

  • @Ayodam said:

Killers recently received some QoL updates whereas survivors received nerfs. Camping & tunneling are more efficient now because of changes.

    But also needed.

Oh don´t worry. Once people start to play "normal" again. The mmr will correct itself. It might just take some time. But you´ll see killers struggle again.

No, they're already struggling. When I play Hag, tell me why I can't even get a down. It's not for lack of skill, because I know that I know how to play that character. It's got nothing to do with perks or maps. It's just that the survivors know how to play against her, so whoever's playing her automatically loses. Last match I played with her 1, maybe 3, hooks all match. Ghost Face, Freddy, and Pig you can just drop pallets against. Wraith and Pinhead, I don't even want to talk about it. You can't really do much without Nurse or Blight.

Killers whose power centers around hoping Survivors are Solo's should be reworked and given better powers.

You're describing 90% of the killer cast.

If you haven't played in a while, no need to go back to count for this. i can just get good as killer and figure out how to deal with gideon. Crap, just got gideon as a map again...

Yeah man, you can just face camp the first guy and get a 4k.

  • @Wowie said:

i like the twins but her boob grosses me out really if i had to pick a part of her that made me puke it'd definitely be her boob

    they should rework her

The one she would have exposed is where the kangaroo sack is, so I don't know what you're talking about.

  • They 100% did not think this through. Killers like Twins who need to slug will be dead after this.

  • Can't hit and run, can't tunnel, can't camp, can't slug. How about can't even down next? Although certain killers like Hag and Demogorgon already experience that.

That's one of the main reasons this mechanic is being tested. Killers will sometimes slug survivors until bleedout for no reason other than a power trip.

How is that a power trip? Wouldn't a power trip be them being the power role and always pushing for changes that maintain them as the power role? It's not something you can do in-game as much as it is a mentality.

  • Why not increase killer fov as a base thing? And why do it for both sides? Makes no sense, what these devs are doing.

  • Me, because my Weskers literally can't down someone in time to tunnel or camp them at 5 gens.

  • "Oreo."

I'd like to see Hag more, so I could confirm how weak she really is.

No, not all the bad killers who could not adapt will leave.

It is possible to play without being able to adapt. However, they are reminded that they are bad killers by the abusive and insulting BMs against them.

Mhmm. Play every match fair, no camping, no tunneling, no meta perks, and get spat on. The perfect storm to force killer players to tunnel, because they don't have anything to lose since they'll be insulted either way.

  • @GrimoireWeiss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3204177#Comment_3204177

    It's not.

Huntress slows down to a snail pace to prepare a hatchet, takes 1,25 seconds to release one at minimum speed and also has a harsh speed punishment if you decide to raise a hatchet and not throw it.

Compare that to Nemesis for example. If a survivor goes through a pallet you raise the tentacle and if the survivor decides to drop the pallet he takes a M2, and if he decides to continue the loop he takes a M1 because Nemesis has a very short wind up and cooldown for his power. A Huntress in this situation can't get a M1 because she actually has good designed cooldowns.

The same applies for Artist, Trickster, Dredge, Slinger... basically killers whose counterplay boils down to WWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

You can do more than hold W vs those killers, but I can't be asked to explain it. It should be obvious.

  • I also think TINH (lol) should get a buff. Let's just try it for 1 patch or ptb: The great skill check zones are bigger while healthy as well. It could be a good learner perk and a useful perk in general, instead of the noob trap it is now (literally just a worse Resilience).

  • It's very inconsistent and it makes me angry. I could bring a chill build as killer and get sweats, then the very next match bring a sweaty build and get babies. I tryhard either way, because I'm playing to win, but it still bothers me when suddenly it's too easy.

  • That's not really going into the power of survivors' perks as much as it is base mechanics, but I get what you mean. The stuff they allow survivors to do, killer would never get away with anything close.

  • Wouldn't Unbreakable + Exponential be 200% faster recovery speed? If so, what does that come out to?

  • SWF has probably caused more problems for this game than anything else. I don't have anything against people playing with their friends, but they need to understand they need to be taken down a notch, because the ones who are queueing up together with the sole intention of winning and playing serious are benefitting from having no downside whatsoever whilst the killer is having to think 3 steps ahead just to keep up. I've suggested a gen debuff for SWF, because the people who are supposedly "just playing with friends" are playing for fun and shouldn't care, while the ones who want to win and walk all over the killer will have a slightly harder time doing so.

We need to bring the strength level of solo and SWF way closer together, and the easiest and most obvious way of doing that, besides what I've already suggested, is making solo matchmaking consistent. I'm tired of having baby teammates, awesome teammates, then baby teammates again. It happens every time I play solo. You have no clue what build you need to bring, because you don't know how dire or chill the circumstances of the match are gonna be. Obviously the killer and their perks/add-ons as well as the map are big determinants in that, but teammates are moreso. Should I bring Adrenaline because we're barely gonna get the gens done and that's the slight edge I need? Should I bring a gen rush build because my teammates aren't gonna do gens? Should I bring anti-tunnel, -camp or -slug because I can't count on my teammates to help me out there? You haven't got a clue.

Those are the problems you have to address. The game is easy as heck for survivors when everyone knows what they're doing. What is so difficult? You hold a button on a gen and drop pallets and hold forward. But because of matchmaking, only 1/2 of the survivors will know what they're doing. The solution isn't to give BT and Unbreakable for free. Those are abusable and not at all thought-out. It's the matching. Kills and escapes do not directly correlate to skill.

  • @fake said:

    No.

The good players who were able to adapt will remain.

As before, the bad killers who could not adapt will leave and the good killers who could adapt will remain.

And survivors who lose to those adapted killers will ask for a nerf. This will be repeated.

I'll stay and adapt. It doesn't mean the killers who leave are bad though. Have you played killer recently?

  • @Tsulan said:

This has a very simple explanation. 6.1.0 has caused a lot and i mean a LOT of survivors to rage quit/suicide on first hook. Now they got moved to a lower mmr bracked and so did their teammates. While the killer got moved to a higher mmr bracked. Thats the reason, why you encounter boosted killers. That don´t actually belong to that mmr bracked and struggle to stay there.

What does a killer that struggles do? He resorts to the most basic (or scummy) tactics. Which is camping&tunneling.

Solution for that issue? It will take time until the mmr fixes itself and everyone goes back to his own mmr bracket. Until then, we get wild matches like this.

Most killers should be struggling though. We can fix MMR for survivor, because good survivors don't deserve to get placed with bad teammates constantly. But with killer, you're just going against people on your level. Unfortunately, killers can't beat survivors who are on their level, except at low MMR where survivors don't even do gens. You can be flawless in chase as killer, but because the survivors were efficient on gens and ran to strong loops that you can't mindgame, you get 3 hooks and everyone's out. I think this whole "boosted killer" talk I've been hearing recently is blown way out of proportion. The only killers getting boosted are the ones who get bad survivors, because then they can get away with playing Freddy with Pop and Ruin. You know, meme stuff like that, because they don't get punished at all.

  • We can't imagine these changes playing out any different from what has been said already.

  • The smaller rocket boost from getting hit as survivor, the faster attack recovery for killer, gens being 10 seconds longer, and the actual regression from kicking a gen were a long time coming. Survivors having Endurance, Haste, and Unbreakable for free, we could honestly do without.

  • @Gamall said:

45 seconds is enough time to press the space bar to pick up the survivor and bring him to a hook, don't you think?

So when the killer HAS to slug, then what? They just accept that the survivors is gonna pick themselves up, with anybody having to get off a gen to get them?

  • @rvzrvzrvz said:

Because killers can tunnel/camp/slug basekit they don't need a perk, you can win games perkless if you play really scummy, survivors need perks to counter the most common tactics. What's the point of having 4 perk slots if you can only use 1 or 2 ?

Oh so I can JUST camp, tunnel, or slug from the get-go and get a 4k?

  • Dude, survivors get everything they want. We just need to accept it.

I listed unique interactions for Killer and Survivor, and Killer has more unique interactions that can be used for BM. Killers and Survivors both can "taunt" in chase, so that isn't unique. I will say you seem to disagree with yourself when you say "We're not supposed to care about the other side's feelings..." then also claim in the same post claim clicky clicky tbag during chase is toxic.

Comparing things you have to do to win - You don't have to camp or tunnel to win unless you are garbage at the game fullstop. I regularly win my games going for the ole 2 hook tango (2 hooks each Survivor) before I go for kills. Anyone claiming otherwise clearly lacks the skills required to win without using the easy way out by hard camping and tunneling.

In the case of the 4 minute bleedout due to no hooks that is on the Survivor and it is their choice to distract the killer in the corner of the map instead of taking a hook. I was speaking to the intentional "average Nurse player gameplay" downing everyone and letting them bleed out when you know you can hook them. In the middle ground equation if it is the last Survivor who was slugged for some time now and Hatch is closed I can't quite blame either side. The Killer did the right thing in killing everyone else and once they closed Hatch the onus is on the Survivor to not wiggle if they want to not wait out the Bleedout. If the Survivor does wiggle and run back to the corner it is clear they chose their method of death.

Also I never defended endgame chat being a sore winner. But I will defend now calling someone out for their BM. If you call someone a loser for BMing you are well within your rights, it just can't cross the line into the full on legitimate Harassment (dox/death threats) not only because it is wrong, but also because it is bannable. Edit: Also you can turn chat off and never look at it, so both sides have agency in never being insulted in the first place.

Also to your final line about "calling people bullies who are just playing the game without any foul intentions." I would quote Dr. Julian Bashir.

"Causing people to suffer because you hate them... is terrible. But causing people to suffer because you have forgotten how to care... that's really hard to understand."

You don't have to tunnel or camp unless you're garbage? I'm done.

I agree, Which is why we're all going to test it and try break it on the PTB so its somewhat balanced. Whether its once per trial at 22 seconds or its changed to like 30s or something.

Either way, the change is going to be a breath of fresh air. Fair play, I took a break from the game for 2 months before the update because it was stale.

Escaping 80% of my games got tedious. 2 gens popping in the first chase was way too strong. I'm glad they buffed killer into making it more challenging, though now the pendulum has swung quite far into the other side. I rarely play killer, if I do its bubba or spooky myers. I play 0 slowdown and I'm not really that good at it and im still winning a majority of my games by attrition.

You play zero slowdown, but I doubt it's against good survivors if you're beating them. Even Nurse and Blight need slowdown. The pendulum has not swung far enough into "the other side." You admit you rarely play killer, and when you do it's "Bubba" and "Spooky" Myers, and you're apparently not even that good, and you're still winning a majority of the time. Why would you think that your experience is anywhere near comparable to killers who play to win, and who face survivors who also play to win? It's not exactly normal to speak on matters of balance when you're in your infancy of playing one role or the other, although let's not kid ourselves, it happens in this community all the time. Maybe you should keep playing killer, no slowdown, no strategy, meme'ing as you do, and see how far that takes you. You haven't seen anything yet.

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

    Why though?

Because it hurts my feelings when the gens get done too quick, just like how survivors' feelings get hurt when they don't have free Endurance and Haste off the hook.

  • @mizark3 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3192526#Comment_3192526

Hard false. I consider actions that have little or no agency for the other side of the interaction as BMing. The only action Survivors can take that removes all Killer agency is tbagging at the exit gate. That however is limited to 2 minutes max, and the Killer doesn't need to watch the Survivors tbag. The Killer can even hit them to force them out early, taking ~22s to get rid of all 4 Survs (~32 if they all perfectly time DH or otherwise use one instance of Endurance each).

Killers on the other hand can 4 minute bleedout slug. They can also facecamp on hook. They can also hard tunnel off of hook, facecamped or not. So Survivors have 1 instance of giving no agency BM that can be cut short by the victim. Killers have 3, with 1 instance of no agency end early BM and 2 instances of no or low agency from the victim. (Facecamping can give up on hook to end BM early for the victim, but that benefits the Killer. Tunneling in deadzones with no pallets/vaults is no agency, low agency if they already got deepwounded and reached a loop/vault. Bleedouts can be countered by pickup perks but those are typically limited.)

Any other gameplay acts are like an MMO taunt to draw aggro. Alternatively they are the equivalent of trashtalking to put your opponent on tilt and snowball misplays. Prime example for Survivor being clicky clicky tbag at a vault. The Killer still has agency and can outplay the Survivor and do their own trashtalk equivalent with nodding or shaking their head. Like "nono you vaulted too late" or "yep you suck, I got that hit before you dropped the pallet".

We're not supposed to care about the other side's feelings when the goal is to win. This is fake virtue signaling that's been done to death. We don't have to be jerks for no reason, which is what you were attempting to argue, but you're drawing on examples of things that are toxic and you claim they're not, and things that aren't toxic that you're claiming are. It's crazy to me how you think the killer slugging, camping, and tunneling is meant for BM rather than strategic advantage, but you excuse tbagging and clicking, conveniently the survivors' BM, and admit that it's to make the killer angry so they misplay.

I'm comparing things you have to do in order to win with things you don't have to do to win. Survivors being toxic isn't a "mindgame". THAT would be being a bad sport, not all this other stuff you're saying. "Draw aggro." Please, as if you can't do that without clicking and tbagging. And like, are you still mindgameing in the endgame chat when you're being toxic, making the killer misplay in other games that you have no business being involved in? But it's the same with killer. Hit someone on hook once, they get the benefit of the doubt that they don't want to hear the scream over everything else. Hit them on hook multiple times, and that's clearly BM. You can let someone bleed out and it be toxic, but if they're the ones who crawled to a hook deadzone and refuse to leave, it's very much their fault, not the killer's.

Y'all talk a big talk, and smoke the Sherlock Holmes pipe as you're delivering your intellectual dribble, but at the end of the day you're just defending bullies, and calling people bullies who are just playing the game without any foul intentions.

  • They should still be used as things that let you mori. Nobody complains about moris these days, so why change it? And what's worse, if the specific text on the mori offerings isn't fulfilled, you lose out on bloodpoints. If you put up an ebony mori and only got 2 kills, well you just wasted an ultra-rare offering and got no bp in return. Or if you got a 4k but only put up the cypress mori, so you only get credit for 2 kills. This is stuff nobody wanted.

  • They've been doing this since "forever" Freddy and M&A Deathslinger. "Stop coming up with fun/unique builds! It's not allowed!"

  • You don't see them much because they lose all the time, so they're at low MMR.

  • @lav3 said:

Even if live update wouldn't come soon, killers will see mori animations frequently if they played well.

Why not make survivors also have same thing to make them feel interested and rewarded?

If only when all of them escape, I think people will do more artruistic teamplays in solo survivor.

And killer's result 'The Entity Hungers..' should also be changed to something like Killed when they get killed by survivors.

Great. More bragging rights for the bullies.

IDK I am a low-mid mmr survivor who duos with a survivor main and killer's maybe camp 1/4 of my games but not really. If it's huntress it's pretty much guaranteed but other than that it's pretty rare. I would imagine low mmr killer's are the ones who camp the most due to them not really knowing how to pressure correctly.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3198051#Comment_3198051

Uh they can, camping is never worth it unless there is less than 15-20 seconds left until stage 2 or death. Tunneling is way more effective. Camping is mid at best, especially face camping.

Well the way people portray it, I can just face camp the first person I down with Ghost Face and get 3 or 4 kills.

  • @Dustin said:

For the most part I feel Wesker's kit is almost perfect but one thing I would do is remove the killer instinct from survivors when they use a First Aid Spray. To me that's just unnecessary information that encourages tunneling on a survivor with an already strong killer.

I'd probably remove the addon that increases infection rate too but that's because I prefer direct interactions rather than passive playstyles of fire and forget.

Past that I see him as absolutely fine - Probably one of the most balanced killers they've released in a while - granted the most buggy but that seems to come with the territory when they make a good killer.

How are they tunneling if they allowed the person to spray themselves?

  • They "nerfed" DH and buffed killers' basic attack cooldown/sprint burst given to survivors at the same time, so we don't really get to see how the new DH affects survivors' survivability by itself, because killers also got buffs. Not saying that we can't say if it's strong or not, we just can't make a straight comparison between new and old DH on match outcomes.

  • Trickster. Can't play him on console, moreso than Nurse, Huntress, Oni, etc.

  • People keep saying she's underrated, that she work with X build, that she's OP. They're only talking about her when she's using her pink add-on. Without it, she's nothing.

  • Thank you for specifying "some" of us. I rarely get the luxury, but when a survivor seems like they're crawling towards someone, or they run straight to their teammate, I just try to down them both and get the 4k. I don't think much about the reason. If I suspect they're trying to sell out their teammate because their teammate hid and did nothing all game, I'll gladly kill them, although it won't be in exchange for letting the snitch live. As killers we automatically suspect that if you've been hiding, you weren't helping your team much that game, because of the stereotypical immersed players and Blendettes and BlendAdams. But it's usually about getting the 4k, so if a survivor wants to team with me and do that, I'll comply and then kill them anyway. Just know that it's nothing personal and that I'd rather not play scummy to get the same result.
