I'm glad this discussion is still on. There is no reason the killer shouldn't be able to see individual hook counters if survivors can.

In egc you lost anyways. Not their fault you failed at your objective.
So you think as soon as the 5th gen is done, the survivors should auto-win?
-
@ShamelessPigMain said:
I'd disagree. BT is pretty easily counterable by not going for the recently unhooked survivor, which is a pretty rude move anyhow. Plus, if you're already in a chase, instead of leaving to tunnel a survivor off of the hook, you're already preoccupied.
Yes, it's annoying that survivors can bodyblock hits with BT, but then it's out of the way and you can smack them again. Bodyblocking means that they aren't making distance, and if you have a quick down killer, or STBFL, they're screwed.
Never overestimate what STBFL will do for you. A survivor can just hold forward and early drop pallets and you won't get anything out of it.

that's why you walk backwards, it pulls them towards you faster. If you choose to walk forwards you give them more leeway on the chain. Why should that change?
Because it's like the Clown's yellow bottles where the survivors for some reason get an advantage from the KILLER'S POWER. That should not be the case. It's stupid, plain and simple.
-
I don't think they should have no control but they have way too much control right now, especially when you're walking towards them instead of pulling backwards.

I have no clue what your talking about because whenever I try and do it I always get reeled in.
Maybe that's because our fellow survivors are hiding industry secrets from us. I've seen many times as killer, survivors moving super hard to the left or right, but I'm never able to do that as survivor.
-
That's Nurse for you. Shouldn't have left all those scratch marks, or did you forget about that mechanic?
-
My Ruin Undying: gone in the first minute. Killers I go against: Ruin up all game even if you searched the whole map for the totem.
-
Garbage killer, overpowered add-ons. That's how I see him. Any buffs made to him need to keep his add-ons in mind. Like when they made Wraith faster, they made his windstorms weaker, and that's how they should do it with Myers.
-
Oh my god, yes. Literally cost me a kill because the exit gate was open and the survivor was gifted aim dressing 3 TIMES in a row. There's several killers that just feel like they have pathetic hit detection on console: Hag, Legion, Oni, Nurse. Heck, half the killer roster. It just depends on how the aim dressing is feeling that day.
-
If you don't bring items, you're hindering your team. A map, a toolbox, a medkit. Just bring anything, because it can only improve how you do, never make you do worse. If you have a bunch of green keys or something that's just not your style of item, it's fine if you don't use it. I always bring an item, even if it's a green key, and exhaust every item a survivor has before I prestige them.

Don't camp the hook and BT doesn't matter.
It's not that simple, just like with "Don't tunnel and you'll never get hit by DS." which is false.
-
What'd you do to make the killer do that?
-
@Shoottokill_Shinsou said:
Just make bt activate no matter what, but instead of DW, just make them lose collision for the duration of the timer. There. They can't be aggressive with it.
So that they can go through healthy teammates to the exit gate in egc? Not a chance.

Wraith and piggy just 2foot behind the hook with zero TR waiting to down you again?
That and insidious, yes.
-
@Lynxx said:
Camping and tunneling haven't been nerfed - so, no.
I believe they have. DS and BT are anti-tunnel, and also good against non-tunneling killers. And camping, all I can think of is Leatherface and Doc's shock spam, which are extremes that need addressing. Every other killer will lose the camp/tunnel game to perks and survivor favored unhook latency.
-
@Crowman said:
BT lasts for 15 seconds and if they take the extra hit, they have to mend for 12 seconds.
If you are so worried about accidentally hitting the unhooked survivor at a hook, just don't immediately swing so you can make sure you are hitting the rescuer.
Also Freddy basically hard counters BT right now, so just play him if this is such an issue.
But you see how unhooks look right now, right? The survivors are practically inside each other.
-
@lagosta said:
It's almost guaranteed to be a protection hit if the killer injured the unhooker or anyone in the vicinities. that would render the perk useless.
So your solution is to leave the perk as it is?
-
@SleepyWillo said:
BT needs a buff. Remove the TR requirement.
For Freddy, I can agree. But other than that, it doesn't need a buff.
-
So what you're saying is the survivors handed you the win on a silver platter.

@EvilJoshy said:
It's been a long while since I really played DBD. What if someone goes into the basement and you park Charlotte on the steps? Does that stop them from getting out of the basement or can they squeeze by?
The same rules of killer apply as always. The killer is not thick enough the block the entire stairway.
-
If you're gonna quit because of the killer someone's using, you need to get off this game. It's not for your entitled ass.
-
Probably Pyramid Head.
-
Since killer based MMR is turned off, allegedly, then they should let us switch killers mid-lobby again.
-
They just need to change the emblem system. If course I'm gonna get low gen contribution if I run the killer for all 5 gens. Of course I'm gonna get low chase contribution if I do 3 gens by myself. This emblem system requires you to go out of your way to do these different objectives, sometimes at the cost of overall efficiency, just to pip or 2 pip. It's almost impossible for survivor to 2 pip.

I'm pretty sure that lockers weren't intended as a counter for victor, which later got announced. Then survivors started abusing this and started using lockers. But I agree that it was BS.
As I said before. It may be unintended but is more fun and skillful for blight. As can be said about Billy's flick. Unintended doesn't mean it's bad. Same can be said with survivor the tractor tech was not what the dev's intended but still, it's not game breaking not everyone can do it, and it can be countered.just like blights flicks. Which then the dev's adopted as feature and so did the community. So I don't see why people can't do the same for blight.
Tbh this thread like console players are upset that they can't do it with blight. Which I'm all for. But It shouldn't be base kit. Instead give the option for console to select three own resolution, graphic as and give them more sensitivity. Which would give them access to do the flick aswell as removing the fps issue.
I can get behind that. I'd rather have better sensitivity / allowing console players to do what PC players can do, rather than removing something altogether. But the devs need to get behind it as well, and that's either unlikely to happen or they'll get around to it at a snail's pace.

dead had is terrible, thats why i switched to sprint burst. just bait the dead hard and theyll waste it, gets them every time. whenever i use dead hard at red ranks, the killer somehow just knows i have it and baits it. depending on the killer, it can be the best and the worst exhaustion perk in the game.
I swapped Dead Hard out for Balanced. It's harder to get punished by dedicated servers and less killers expect it.

I stumbled upon this in my recommended and thought I should post it.
All I see are videos of people getting hit by him. Claiming its "uncounterable" or "OP". But here in this video you can clearly see that it can be easily countered, just like any blight. But with the exception of being able to run around a small tree or stack of tires negating his power which is honestly stupid imo.
Sure this blight whiffs a lot, but he knows how to flick and and clearly he doesn't get a "easy" 4k as everyone claims. Even on solo que. So instead of complaining and looking for evidence of him flicking being "OP and 4king". Next time you verse one as most of you claim that you run into flick blights a lot. Get in a locker start recording. Reflect on the recording to see what you could of done. And use that knowledge later. Even better look at streams of blight doing this. Not videos because most of them are the best game out of all the recordings. This way you can see survivors countering them in the moment. Some examples are xeno, knight light and disco. Just check them out when you can.
Please stop complaining. Sure it's an exploit but it's a healthy one that rewards skill. such as timing, how far you want to flick, guessing if the survivor hugged the wall or not. Such as Billy's flick. Which I'm pretty sure is unintended but healthy and skill rewarding. But I must be wrong because its unintended it must be a unhealthy game breaking exploit.
The same can be said for 360ing or window teching. You need to learn timing.
Its not as bad as you all think.
Sorry for the rant. But I love blight.
No exploits are healthy for a game, regardless of the 'skill' involved. No double standards either. If you make an excuse for this one, you'll have to also make an excuse for pre-patch Victor being able to down people in lockers.

You could just wise up and not follow a good survivor to a good tile.
But hey, that's just my 2016 talking. Keep holding W.
That's the problem with killer: having to retreat from good survivors/tiles. And assuming there's no weak link, you're just screwed.

nah i'd still use stridor as spirit. It's specifically amazing for her and her only.
My argument stems from the fact that Stridor makes survivors too loud when they don't have Iron Will. They sound like they're right next to you when they're really behind a wall or 2.

Shift tech is not what that guy posted btw, shift tech is where you use the fact you can queue a vault to your advantage as if you are not holding shift, you cannot start a chase. This is done by running, queuing the vault immediately, letting go of shift then walking until you are out of the killer's line of sight before sprinting again. This can create infinites, and infact does create ones without counter in funbus/Groaning Storehouse, also works at cow tree/shack if chased incorrectly by the killer. I've seen the funbus window vaulted 11 times in a row for example, can't be entity blocked because no chase.
I can't believe the fun bus survived the map rework. It's a really unhealthy tile variation.

And if she eventually gets you and tou are playing solo, watch the rest of your team stumble into traps that only you know exist. and see them crouch around waiting to save while the heartbeat fades in and out from the killer proxy camping.
Its boring when playing solo.
I'll admit that SWF has it way easier against Hag, but it doesn't excuse solos who just play bad, like running into an area that would clearly be trapped or not thinking that a Hag is gonna put a trap on a hook.
-
Is there a good reason not to? I don't think so. Defend the gens, gens fly anyway. Don't tunnel, gens fly and still get hit by DS anyway. Ruin Undying gets nerfed, so the 1 perk that rewards killers for pressuring gens goes down in 1 minute. Try to play nice and fair, get tbagged by 4 survs at the exits. There's a risk of getting fewer kills by camping, but there's also a risk of getting few to no kills by not camping. 2 sides of a coin, baby.
-
You're entitled. You shouldn't DC for any reason.
-
@gendoss said:
She also can completely counter iron will making me a 3 perk survivor against her
No. You bringing Iron Will is the reason she brings Stridor. If Iron Will was not a perk, a Spirit would not need Stridor to hear you. So you're cancelling each other's perks out. She becomes a 3-perk killer and you become a 3-perk survivor.
-
It's kind of a graduation thing. Everyone starts out as a chill player, then they learn the game and become a competitive player. I play this game competitively right now, and that's how I think the game should be.
-
I really think he's overrated to an extent. To beat his snares, you use routing (linking tiles together) and drop pallets early like you would against Clown. His teleport isn't much of an issue, because you can just run away from the gen and come back if he's faked it. His passive slowdown aspect is a problem though. When combined with Thana or Ruin, you're not getting much of anything done. I do believe forever Freddy is still a thing against solos. A competent SWF definitely handles Freddy easily, through good looping and gen rush. Solos however, I don't think are, on average, good enough to beat him. They see a Freddy, or a Spirit, or a Pyramid Head, and they just don't know how to counterplay them so they give up or do poorly. Not everyone watches YT tutorials to get better at the game unfortunately.
-
They're fun to go against because they're easily beaten unless you allow yourselves to be slugged. They're not fun to play as because you need to slug and range camp to win.
-
It's an idea. Shouldn't take any longer to do than breaking a breakable wall.
-
Nurse and Legion are way more boring to vs than Hag. Hag has so much counterplay as well. Trip her traps and force her to chase you, or do gens. That's how you beat her.
-
Spriti Fury/Enduring is like Ruin/Undying. It can be strong. Unless the survivors are smart, then it's not. It also takes up 2 perk slots, so you're looking at a 2 perk match most of the time. It ensures that survivors will play safe instead of greedy, which I don't know is a good thing or a bad thing. I don't think I've ever considered it a super strong perk combo, just a decent one.
-
@landromat said:
Dead hard and Iron will are balanced perks
SWF is not that hard to deal with. 90% of SWF are just playing for fun
Nurse is hard to learn so she's balanced

Yeah I know what you mean, but I don't seem to have a problem with it if I think they have DS I slug them
Yes but you shouldn't have to give them extra time to live just because they have a perk that's supposed to punish tunneling, and you were not tunneling. Good killers down so fast, 2 or 3 people may have an active DS at a time, so they can push gens while injured and stun the killer if he tries to punish them for doing that.

Yes, because Spirit wins by being played as intended, not by doing a flick exploit. Her standing still mindgame needs to go though.

Yeah that needs to be fixed. They're much too close to that window for that to be a fast vault.
-
For survivors, they're all just skins. I don't really main any of them, but I prefer to play as male characters. With killer, I main whoever I have the most fun, and also whoever I do the best with.
-
Gen rushing does exist, and is a feature of most red rank matches. You end chases quickly but the gens still fly. That's why you see people tunneling and camping because going out to pressure the gens doesn't get rewarded, and can even garner worse results than if you camped 1 person to death.
-
I'd be fine with that. Friday the 13th had a 20-minute match limit, so why can't this game?
