Trickster didn't need that knife count nerf on his power and his add-ons in the first place. He has to hit you 14 times just to down you, and he'll miss plenty. Because of the knife count nerf from way back when, he has to reload like after every chase, which cripples him.
-
Against popular opinion, I don't think Blight is S, but why on earth is Huntress S? How is Deathslinger better than Artist? How is Plague worse than Trapper?
-
The fact that Freddy's add-ons barely do anything alone makes me not want to play him.
-
I agree.
-
There's a surprising amount of people in this discussion who actually know how to spell "scourge" hook.
-
The community has always been okay with killers being weak. This game's A tier is like any other game's C tier. You need S tier to beat even decent survivors.

you wouldn't pick a perk to give exposed, you'd pick a killer who already has exposed. An example of killer that has exposed base-kit is Hillbilly. Why bother using situational exposed perks when you can just play a killer that has 100% up-time on exposed.
I mean if you've watched trapper mains like otz or hag mains like michi who main hag. these killers that are largely territorial are based around 3 generator gameplay. those player don't use expose perks. expose perks are just not good. a more reliable way for non-instant down killers to capitalize off 3 generators is running stbfl. Hag mains run it because it shorten cooldown of m1 attack allowing them to chain-teleporter easier and it keeps survivors more claustrophobic towards one area which is important for trapping based killer. trapper's do this as well for exact same reason. if you pick an instant down killer than you do not need stbfl.
3 generator strategies are all about claustrophobia gameplay that often revolves around abusing narrow map design(like azeroth resting place) and unlimited regression. The reason 3 generator strategies do not really work vs high-level teams is because killers have pathetic level of base regression on generators. The only way to regress generator's infinitive is through skill-checks like overcharge but good survivors won't miss skill-checks. that's why this stuff mostly labeled as rank 20 strategies, but now a days, we do not have ranks, so I'd just call low MMR in modern day.
If you ask me, new Ringu killer is like... rank 20 balancing/killer design and rank 20 perk design. Do they seriously think that survivors are going to get mori by directional audio TV teleporting? Do you think anyone going to get fooled by passive spirit phasing as a power at loops? The people saying she is fine without anti-loop are complete fools. It is like watching comedy.
Agreed. NOED is probably the only Exposed perk worth bringing.

its not what perk is for. about 4 weeks ago, Mandy said that the team was discussing internally about 3 generator strategies and I can see exactly why they were discussing it.
This perk is designed for 3 generator strategies. currently killers regress generator 400% slower than survivors making them ineffective at 3 generator strategies because survivor progress 400% faster and killer regress 400% slower. survivors will win the war of attrition just by the progress vs regress on the game.
a famous build known for 3 generator strategies was doctor's 3 generator strategy, though its not really exclusive to him, anyone can do it and its related to these 4 perks when put together.
Unnerving presence+Overcharge+Surveillance+STBFL.
now you can run Unnerving presence+Overcharge+Call of brine+STBFL. simple concept is that if survivor touches generator, they better hit that tiny white ruin skill-check or you lose 15% regression. even if you do hit it, the killer can kick it again until you do. If you don't touch generator, than it regress at 200% ruin speed.
what fascinating gameplay.
Dragon's Grip won't help solidify a 3-gen more than an other perk would. The survivor who taps the gen is now exposed, but you have to commit to them to get the down, which means leaving your 3-gen and potentially losing the last gen. Y'all always act as if when you have a 3-gen, they're all starting at 0 every time, instead of taking into account how a game normally is.

That's why utilizing it with another perk makes it better.
You're making it sound like every survivor is capable of looping for 5 gens and you'll never get a hit on them?
No, but to go back to the gen for the person who triggered Dragon's Grip, you'd have to drop chase with whoever you're chasing, and they may be about to go down. But if you don't drop chase, you might not see the other guy before their exposed is up. So you're taking a risk of getting no value no matter what you do.

Right and there's even the possibility that the new slowdown could not work with the current meta.
Yeah. I was excited for Eruption. Don't know why. It sees no play.
-
You're kidding yourself if you think killers don't need slowdown, which is why it's bad that survivors that believe that are coming up with all the balance decisions.
P.S. The variety of slowdown perks in the game now does not translate to killers getting "more slowdown". You have 4 perk slots, as always; To add 1 new perk, you have to remove another.
-
Dragon's Grip will never be amazing. It almost was on pre-nerf Wraith, but now we don't have to worry about that, do we?
Literally just early drop pallets, that is if the killer actually has time to come back to you.

Sounds cool. 🙂 I like some of the add-ons but for the love of Pete I wish they’d stop making useless Brown add-ons like Videotape Copy which handicap the killer but make related scoring events higher. It’s such a bad design, who runs these perks that they keep making them?
Bloodweb filler.

Nope, sorry. The devs wanted to let them be limited time so you could be more immersed or feel special during that time, or something like that. Clearly, lore over convenience is always the best route.
-
We can tell she's gonna be terrible because she hasn't got an ability that can beat the top. Survivors can just pop a tape in and get rid of your ability you've been building up on them for the past 4 teleports. Sure, it's slowdown. But it slows her game plan down more than it does the survivors'. Hit and run was dead even before CoH was a thing, because all people had to do was bring medkits. So why now would they release a hit and run killer? This killer is pandering af to the survivors, with built-in counters and everything else.
-
Can't compete against the top.

Would love it if someone could answer his question
They buffed Robin Feather and Solvent Jug. An equivalent exchange, in their mind, for nerfing Pinky Finger and Flask of Bleach, whose nerfs were insanely undeserved.

@Azshhh said:
of course she needs 10 traps.
How else is she gonna camp the basement and send your camera view to Pluto?
Something that noob Hag's don't realize: you only need 1 trap around a hook.
-
You're complaining about 1) a killer's brown and yellow add-ons getting buffed, which won't be used at high level anyway, and 2) a killer who can be crippled by people disabling all her traps the moment she decides to pick up a survivor, even if it's just 1 person being that nuisance.

Sure the last 2 new killers had scoruge hooks so it makes sense.
Basically the devs found a new mechanic which is really interesting and want to have some fun with it. I'm really happy we're getting new scrouge and boon perks.

Probably 1 or 2 in the last 2 months.

Kindred and Windows. Good information which you'd get for free in a SWF.

None of that happened. I got disconnected from host when I was hooking/killing a survivor
That would be more in line with a pulled plug, where you literally disconnect from the game. Pressing "Leave Match" is not disconnecting from the game, it's a forfeit, hence why you're still in the results screen and are able to chat. That's what most people don't get with this topic.

Killer is soo much more stressless than playing non-4man-survivor, why its quite hilarious to see all those rants everyday.
If you actually want to win, and you're facing survivors of equal skill, it absolutely is not stressless.

Survivors are going to leave the game faster if all they see is bubba face camping at 5 gens for an EZ 4k. Don't you understand that you have to allow killers to be powerful so survivors can have fun? Otherwise its no fun for literally anyone. Also Pinky finger was gutted even though its trash, and iri head is now worse than having no addons. Of those the only decent example of a good addon is alchemist ring, and I think every killer should have an addon thats just as strong.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2807284#Comment_2807284
1. They returned god loops with map reworks and breakable walls.
2. The only reason the gens aren't the fastest they've ever been is because old BNP used to finish whole generators.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2806871#Comment_2806871
Killers are also balanced with their addons in mind. Survivors are not balanced with their tools in mind. (If they were, those 8 second heals with medkits + CoH wouldn't be a thing.) I feel they are only OP because no other killer has anything of the sort.
I think other killers do have just as strong add-ons. Nurse has blink recharge, Clown and Huntress have faster projectile speed, Hag has teleport distance, Pig and Pinhead have hidden auras for the side objectives their killer powers spawn, and that's all through add-ons. So are those OP too?
-
Predator. Why is it even a thing?
-
The joke add-ons? They're still around. It's just that nobody uses them for obvious reasons.
-
Yes the problem would get as bad as it is now eventually if they removed perk tiers, but that would be years in the future which we're not even thinking if the game is gonna survive that long right now.
-
That's what happens when you make a game that can't differentiate between "Leave Match" and a pulled plug or a closed application.
-
Were you at least looking behind you most of the time so you could confirm he wasn't stalking you during that time?

Killers can already EZ 4K every match by face camping at 5gens, of course its not that hard. But thats going to drive survivors away faster than being able to face strong, interactive killers. Its hard to interact with bubba's chainsaw on the hook. People complain about blight all day every day, but I bet if the only killer survivors saw at high MMR was bubba and face camping then the game would die.
You can't 4k every time by doing that. The survivors you face eventually learn.
Just don't go for a save if they're camping, or save at the last second. If it's Leatherface, do the former. It gives you a huge gen lead on the killer.

I guess if you're arguing specifically that they're not auto-win, which they're not, but I can make the same argument for skill replacer dead hard and circle of busted and be just as wrong. I genuinely do N O T care for either C33 or Vial to be nerfed, but I just don't think that's a good argument.
You said Compound 33 was dumb.
-
I'm sure there's plenty of survivor streamers out there. It's very easy to play and talk with chat at the same time, unlike killer which requires way more concentration on the game.
-
People rage quitting against Pinhead? Bruh.
-
Grade isn't linked with MMR.
-
I'll run Small Game or Counterforce as survivor to deal with hex users. I don't run hexes because they're literally perks that survivors can permanently take away from you, and most of them aren't that strong anyway. I also don't know how people get so lucky with them, either having their hexes up the entire match or having it in the most well hidden place on the map. As I said, some hexes aren't even that strong under certain conditions like Ruin/Undying, but these killers seem to get max value every time where I'd get zero in my killer games. It's such a frustrating "worst of both worlds" situation.
-
Smart survivors are like mind-readers when it comes to traps. They'll literally know exactly where it is, even if it's in a super clever spot, or disarm it, or run in weird directions that happen to be far away from your traps.

Just too afraid to buff killers until they all have nice things like alchemist ring, blighted crow, and adrenaline vial
And those things are "OP", right?
-
"I 4k with Clown, easily, all the time at high MMR, with no perks and no add-ons."
-
Just make it like it used to be, where if you pressed the button too late you actually got punished for it instead of rewarded.

Yeah, this whole thread is pretty absurd. Blight and Nurse have high skill floors, for sure. Many of the best killer mains out there will agree, but some salty surv main is going make a compelling case to the contrary? Yeah, no. Blight has some op add ons, but to say he takes "no skill" is high comedy.
Some people just can't cope with killers who make them do anything but basic looping, and get bent all the way out of shape when they get owned a few times.
Every killer has a counter, but for some loping isn't it, and mediocre survs can't cope. That's really the bottom line here.
I don't think any of Blight's add-ons are OP, especially considering their rarities. They make a strong killer better, but not by that much. And he is undoubtedly beatable, not just by top % SWFs, but even by decent survivors.

I hope you know, you've proven my point exactly.
Also I've escaped plenty of blight as solo survivor.
I escaped just the other night against an Adrenaline Vial/Compound 33 Blight. You know, that killer and those add-ons these people are saying are an auto win?
-
I don't see why they would discontinue the tomes.
-
MMR as a concept is fine. But the way the devs have gone about creating it is just horrible. If all killer has to do is kill, pick Leatherface and facecamp 2 people to death. If all survivor has to do is escape, get downed by the killer in seconds, but run out the gates anyway because of gen rush and second chance perks. Anybody can do these things, so you're matched with different people of wildly different skill levels between matches.
-
How can y'all even say that? He does have a complex ability. Needing to bump to hit people, understanding how hard you can turn, baiting out Dead Hard, etc.
-
@BoriskyTheFox said:
Eh.. at least demo cant get unfair hits through pallets and windows. Thast why people complain about Nemesis and Pyramid Head more than Demo. Nemesis is literally a low budget Pyramid Head and their powers are so similar. Both are boring desings for this game and need to be nerfed.
It's not unfair. That's how their ability works. You can't just use Nemesis's whip or Pyramid Head's ranged attacks in the open, or they'll just get dodged every time.
-
@BoriskyTheFox said:
Its fine. Killers cant get unfair hits anymore.
If anything, its one of the best things they have ever added.
They were actually deserved hits, because the survivors waited til the very last second to drop it because they were greedy for the stun. Now pallet immunity is just normal for survivors, because they're never gonna get punished for unsafe plays like that.

People want killers like Blight nerfed because they are the type of killers that were designed without considering the solo survivor aspect of the game.
So because they're solo, they individually play worse than they would in a SWF?

Oh you mean the video where he spends the whole time talking about how bad he is at Blight, yet still 4k's both games at 3 gens? Not exactly making a great argument for Vile being balanced.
His survivors were beyond terrible. They weren't doing gens. They let him get away with having such long chases, especially by Blight standards. He missed so many rushes. He's talking so much he must have been barely paying attention. And still, they let him 4k them. If we're gonna talk about how good something is on the killer side, they have to be facing high level survivors, not just anybody.
