Maybe it has something to do with the license?

New bugs are appearing at a faster rate than the devs can fix. The game still needs a ton of quality of life updates to smoothen and balance gameplay. Also they have to create new chapter every 3 months. And they are currently working at home. Not sure what they can do at this point.
I'd rather see bug fixes only for a year or 2 while they just develop a brand new engine with non-spaghetti code so it's less of a pain in the ass in the future and we don't end up here again.
-
When a single perk enables teams to hookrush with ZERO fear then it's busted somewhat. I don't think the idea of a safe hook rescue perk is inherently bad, just when it enables whole teams to do the thing.
-
They've said that now that everything is more stable and progress losses shouldn't be happening anymore that they will probably not give out event cosmetics in the future like they just did.
Also I don't understand why everyone is getting their panties in a wad over this. It was 1.) a free cosmetic so even if someone who didn't play got it who cares? 2.) Why do you want limited cosmetics that can never be gotten again? Over time so much cool ######### will be locked behind walls you can never get over if you missed it. Paladins does this and there are a lot of skins I'd love to get but never gonna happen now even if I did want to pay for it.

If you arent able to get downs very few perks are going to help you and you should be focusing on addressing that before worrying about what perks to run 🤷♂️
I guess i should've included more in my original post. Although yes, you're right there are currently very few perks that can actually help you down and not just benefit off of it.
It terms of Ruin + Surveillance on killers that can't travel the map well it won't help much with map pressure initially. Even if you get 2 downs and hooks at the same time the other 2 can still choose to finish their gens and completely circumvent the combo.
If you're playing a killer that has map travel then yes it is very good. Although still has problems, it's definitely much more map pressure.
-
@Dead_by_Gadfly said:
Yup. Its great on killers that struggle with map pressure. Run it on bubba to wreck #########
Only if you're able to get downs and force the other survivors to recuse/abandon gens. If you don't get the initial pressure going Ruin + Surveillance won't help you at all.
-
It's great until Ruin gets destroyed. Then it's meh.

I won't disagree with you; I was similarly hoping for a "use whenever" ranged attack.
And even though I'm personally having a blast with the 'Doctor's Shock Therapy but it damages you' strategy, I can fully see how facing him or playing him with that strategy could be quite dull.
I mention it here though because I think calling Punishment of the Damned a "joke" is a bit of an injustice.
I agree with you there, an ability that can hit all 4 people at once is no joke even if it's extremely limited in its usage.
-
A Mummy killer with an Egyption/Pyramid map.
Alien creature/future survivor + asteroid base map?
Gorgon/Medusa + survivor, maybe an ancient Greek map?
So many more but those are my top 3 I guess.

They kind of said they want their survivors to KNOW how machinery works.
I think the furthest possible survivor we'll get is from the Industrial Revolution, where hand processing changed to machines.
So about....1860-Current.
This. But we can have futuristic survivors!

@TheRockstarKnight said:
If you think Punishment of the Damned is bad you're either facing people who are using it wrong, or you're using it wrong.
PH's secondary power is insanely strong: if you're even passable with it you basically counter looping as long as you just hold it at a pallet or window.
The Survivor vaults or drops the pallet; you attack. The fake it; you cancel and M1 them. If you time this right it's impossible for them to avoid getting hit.
I'd even go so far as to say that because of this PH doesn't actually need to break any pallets he can walk around.
His Cages can be okay too.
I won't disagree saving for Final Judgement is better than using a Cage, but that doesn't make Cages useless.
Being able to advance a hook state and immediately push people off a gen or advance someone a hook state and bypass DS or BT when they're rescued can be a BIG game changer.
That said, you can easily never get Tormented. Just run past loops with the Trails even if it gets you downed. You'll be able to use DS and force him to spend time hooking you after you're downed or in the future.
Triangle Man is still a 115% Killer who has to hit you twice to down you. As long as you and your teammates don't get Tormented and split up and do gens, you have a pretty good chance of getting out.
-
TL;DR - All of Pyramid Head's kit is good, not just his mini-Mori and, much like Pyramid Head himself, Final Judgement is strong, but it's not broken or overpowered. If you have DS just don't get Tormented and hope your teammates actually do gens.
I can't tell you in enough detail how uninteresting PotD is when it's only useful as a Doc shock at loops. The main appeal of it was that you might be able to use it anytime if you're good enough to aim with it. The reality is though that's it only good at certain points where animations are locked or a loop holds a survivor relatively in place for a chance to hit with PotD.
I didn't want another "only at loops/windows" power.

Going against a swf is just going against a more coordinated team, it's nowhere near 2 different gamemodes. Not every swf is a 4-man, and not every 4-man is swf team six. As I killer main with a heavy killer bias, sfw is fine, it's not an automatic loss when an obvious 4-man joins my lobby.
That's not the point. There shouldn't a dramatic difference between survivors other than their skill. Comms artificially raises this for everyone involved.
It's not about how many of them are being seal team 6. There should never be the possibility of it in the first place.
-
I don't see how a visual overhaul would dramatically increase new bugs other than visual bugs. Maybe if they're doing mesh changes?
I'm more concerned about losing vision inside the shack and other places where you could see through the planks of wood.

they have literally said themselves that they dont care about comms or anything that makes it easier to survive aslong as its not cheating, but if eac detects it they're not getting rid of your ban SWF has been in the game since 1.3 , THE WORST TIME for killers, and its now being complained about PeePoLUL
It's always been complained about. It is objectively better than solo survivor. I don't know any other way to say that to you. The difference between solo and SWF is almost enough to warrant calling them different gamemodes. If almost unanimously every killer says SWF makes the game worse because they are not only harder but usually more toxic and embolden, there's probably something more to it than "lul people complain git gud scrubs"
-
It's very unfortunate but consider it a blessing in disguise. Take a break from the game and wait for a patch.
There's nothing fun enough in this game right now to wait 72hrs to play lol.

actually no, they dont "refuse to balance swf" swf was added to the game for a reason i dont get why people are so upset ovefr a mechanic in the game yes they can be more cordinated then a group of solo's but so what? its in the game for a reason
The game was designed around survivors having no communication and being solo. It's cool they added it because playing with friends is fun but it is a separate tier of power and needs to be balanced. It doesn't matter if it's in "for a reason" if the reason was to appease and not to make the game better.
-
They refuse to balance SWF directly and are only going to indirectly address them like in the new perk that doesn't work if you're not the obsession. It's better but not going to be good enough imo.
Hopefully MMR will help though and after everyone reaches close to their true MMR SWF groups will be placed with killers that can handle them or at least on the skill level a SWF gets in the system. Right now the ranks are meaningless. SWF gets no true metric in it.
-
I mean it's cool you're enjoying the useless addons (literally useless since they don't increase the 8k cap........) but honestly if having tough games and being constrained is what makes you play better just using Nurse will do that. So many bugs and bullshit misses, no need to add even more imo.

She was literally the best killer in the game for years. Just because she got nerfed out of SSS tier and alot of people moved on, and the new people don't want to invest hundreds of hours into learning her, doesn't mean she is bad. There's a handful of streamers who still play her and they completely slay.
And a 110 killer with no power is definitely someone you can hold W against. The last time I met a chasing hag we would run to a loop, i'd run it once or twice, she traps it, and during her trapping I just ran off to the next loop and we repeated the process while my team pounded out gens. Then she finally left me, hooked someone, and put like 10 traps in the area around the hook and camped it and surprise; my team started to get murdered.
I see no reason to play hag as a chasing killer. It's not where her strength lies. She CAN chase, but as a last resort. Why not just play Freddy, who also shuts down loops with a single M2, doesn't take any time to cast it, is 115, and can teleport across the map with no setup?
I laugh and spit in the face of anyone claiming she;s still god tier.
What the ######### is god tier about a killer that literally loses their power half the time to bugs? Where some maps are literally entire deadzones?
Tell me when an S tier killer can work only half of the time and then I'll agree she's still godly. But it aint gonna ######### happen.

I'd like necromantic powers or shadow related powers.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but should most of the blame for all these bugs be put on the QA team? Like arent they supposed to be the ones who test all this stuff and let the programmers know about these issues before they make it out into the actual game so they can be fixed?
This is such a simple one that you wouldn't normally look out for after it's been done successfully and without issue before. You're right, it should lay on their shoulders the burden of blame but you have to admit this is something that would've flown under the radar (and did) when they're looking for much bigger issues in the rest of the game haha.

People think Nurse is not as good as other strong killers because she is very difficult to master and if you suck you are not gonna get anything done at all, in the other hand great nurses will decimate pretty much everything and god nurses will decimate even the sweatiest of the SWFs.
In terms of raw power Nurse is the strongest killer by a huge margin, its so higher over the rest of the killers if she were to spit on them they would think The Entity is spitting. Tiers are not based on our own personal skills but in the potential a character has.
I like the narrative that she is so much stronger than any other killer by miles that they fear her like she is the Entity.
Her backstory and her power are so disconnected but it makes sense if it wanted her to be the top dog.

The best twink is obviously Dwight. The ugliest I'll let speak for itself:
It's a shame in the movie he is a snack but in the game he's a monster that's lived ten thousand mortal lifetimes in his search for skin cream.
Ugliest female survivor is probably a tie between Nea, Cheryl, and Laurie. At least the models they have in game like poor Quentin. Prettiest is Claudette in her dress cosmetics, Kate in some outfits, and Jane for being so thicccc.

@Fiv55 said:
considering its this window you probably did a medium vault. You can get hit from medium vaults for way longer/far than from fast vaults (my own experience, nothing official etc). Freddy is a small character that doesnt really carry a big weapon (claws are not big and extend while lunging) like the wraith or trapper, so it looks weird if you compare it to them. Also latency / killer sided hit detection is an issue as well. It might look like you vaulted on your end, but on his end (due to HIS bad connection) you're still vaulting. This will be changed at some point this year (it was announced I think at the 4yr anniversary or Q&A stream before that) to a server sided hit detection.
But until then it feels like this:
Honestly I wish he had gotten that as a power. Extendo arm attack that's very quick but only works on asleep survivors would've been so cool and very much a Freddy move.
OP His power is famous for causing slow vaults (not sure if you were subject to that or not in the pic) and the way his model is forces the game to stretch him to have the same lunge as other killers who have a weapon in their model which helps make that distance look normal as opposed to him having to swing his hand very close to you.

She can teleport through windows and pallets, the two things survivors use to make distance from the killer. Anyone who says she’s bad is just wrong, she has weaknesses and bugs and she’s difficult to master but she has the greatest potential of any killer in the game.
The fact that there are people who think a teleporting killer in a game about chases isn’t good really makes me scratch my head sometimes.
This game has many tiles that are full of walls and LOS breaks. Just because pallets and windows aren't good against her doesn't mean 1.) they can't be used against her, they can but it's much harder and 2.) her equivalent of windows and pallets is LOS breaks and stealth.
People act like pallets and windows are the only thing survivors have in the game and conveniently ignore everything else when discussing Nurse.

I still dont get how such a dumb mistake could get past the tests, at this point I am starting to think they are doing this all on purpose.
I would just dismiss this as silly normally but it's been days now and such a simple bug is still hanging on. Idk you might be onto something.
-
If she was bug free, she might deserve the S spot even with garbage rework and addons she now has.
If she was bug free AND rework free she would be S tier along with Spirit/Freddy.
But she's neither bug free nor rework free so she is definitely A tier. Her power is still incredibly strong but it's plagued by bugs and a timer without addons so she's fallen from her spot she held for years. Even if you're good you can still get ######### over randomly by bugs or deadzones so your consistency is largely out of your control after you've learned the basics.

@twistedmonkey said:
its probably due to survivors needing to escape and really what is the point in staying to farm until the cakes are working?
Each player has a range of characters to play if they want all the cosmetics so there will be rushing from a lot of players.
Both sides are as bad as each other In any events. I myself managed a few survivor games to try and get crowns last night on various chars with 3 out of the 6 having ebony mori's. This could also be a good reason to rush and try to secure the crown.
It works both ways unfortunately.
I wasn't trying to imply there isn't killers ruining games too, I just didn't focus on that aspect. My bigger point is that people suck lol.
-
I've had many games where someone is unhooked and healed extremely fast so I'm guessing it's becoming more used as time goes on because of how much time it can save you.
-
"...his speed and range of his basic hit."
This is all I needed to see that you don't know what you're talking about. His speed is fine, he's actually kinda meh even with it, and his basic attack range is the same as every other killer barring Myers T1 & T3, Nurse with bugs, and killers who get speed bonuses that increase the lunge range by making it faster than normal.
-
@Bronwyn said:
I thought it would only take a few hours, it seems like a simple thing to fix but I’m not a game dev so I wouldn’t know. It does seem a little ridiculous that we haven’t even had an update yet though, since the cakes are one of the main parts of the event.
I can understand this for PC since they can just push updates on it very easily through Steam.
But the console versions have to go through processes to get their updates, doesn't that include hotfixes such as fixing an event offering?
-
Maybe for that aesthetic?
-
I'd be happy if we could equip the crowns to any head. That alone would be enough for me, even though it should've been that way from day 1.
I'd also like somewhere around 100,000BP or like ~2k shards. Nothing crazy but if I can't get my crowns on the right heads I am entitled to financial compensation through the Entity.
-
Hopefully they're putting it together with a fix for the cosmetic that lets us wear it with other heads... a man can dream can't he?
-
Afaik this is a known bug. For killers it even shows them having a different power lol.

After 4 years this game is still heavily unbalanced, doesn't have a proper ranking and matchmaking system, the dedicated servers are hated by a huge part of the community, the game is full of bugs, the performance is getting steadily worse instead of better...
Seriously, HOW?
Because I still want to play the game and see it become something better. Yeah it's riddled with flaws and bugs atm, but I do believe they want to see it become what it can be. What's holding them back though, idk. Sometimes their hubris really gets in the way though.

So 10 seconds for 1 bottle, making a full reload 40 seconds. Sounds good.
I really like the idea of an indicator for where the bottle lands. Kind of like giving the huntress a crosshair to see where hatchets will go.
Would he still be able to manually reload if he uses all of his bottles in that 10 or so seconds to recharge?
@[Deleted User] said:
after thinking more about it.
The devs won't simply throw the reload mechanic and the animations away.
and even if the passive bottle regeneration happened. let's say a bottle every 15 seconds. you'll probably still find yourself without any bottles in the middle of the chase. basically being an m1 killer without an ability.
how about making use of his reload. but without forcing him to reload every now and then since it takes 2 blue moons for him to finish reloading without reload speed add-ons.
what I mean by that is giving him a real regeneration ability that goes down slowly by time.
let's say after you reload your bottles (in addition to the reload itself). the first 30 seconds. you get a bottle every 5 seconds. after a minute. that goes down to 10 seconds. after a minute and a half. that goes down to 15 seconds. etc. until it reaches something like a bottle every 30 seconds.
I think this would unlock a new kind of mindgames to it. and maybe make him viable?
Again, Your idea is a pretty good one though.
Your idea gave me an idea.
For every generator completed the reload time passively gets faster and faster?

Maybe if it was an addon. Part of the skill of Clown imo is learning where his bottles will land, like where Nurse will blink to or Huntress hatchets will fly, Deathslingers shots, etc.

I think that a pyramid head nerf is inevitable. This smells a lot like when they added Ash last year. Instead of luring you into a purchase with an insanely strong perk (Mettle of Man), they're using a very strong killer. And just like Mettle of Man, once BHVR makes a certain profit, pyramid head will get nerfed.
I don't think/support the separate hook and cage states idea but I think the nerf will be a longer cooldown from rites of judgement to basic attack or torment cooldown will be shorter.
No one is saying he's very powerful outside of tunneling off cages, and even then I don't really think he's that strong at it either. Hag would probably be better for camping/tunneling.
Most everyone is in fact saying he needs a buff. Not to cages, but to PotD.

For 1 bottle or total reload?

It would have to be pretty slow ngl. We don't want it to devolve into just throwing them willy-nilly for ez zone control. The reload forces you to decide when is a good time to throw one.
-
Yes events tend to bring out the worst people in this game sadly.
-
If you're looking to blame a single person or group for the toxicity you'll find none suitable. I think it comes more from our culture that cultivates these personality traits and also this games core loop of Cat & Mouse attracts people who are more prone to unsportsmanlike behavior like we all encounter in-game.
Best advice I can give you is to get better at the game to the point where you crush most of the toxic wannabies who aren't good enough to back up their clickyclicky. Or just ignore those people and give the game breaks. I give the game 2 bad days in a row then at least a week away. You're going to learn to hate the game really fast if you don't give it space.

The suicide on hook is bad but some people have been playing only to get the crown, hide on the border all map and aim for a hatch escape with Left Behind and a key or Plunderer, making the other 3 people sacrificial lambs.
They could put a bare minimum point treshold, if you get less than 12000 points you dont get to keep the crown, that number or a similar one ensures you get to keep it if you collaborate, do gens, hook saves or totems and it would leave out of it the leeches who do nothing and aim for a hatch.
Possibly a high point requirement like 12k could work. Maybe just giving surviving with it incentive and reward it just for grabbing it regardless of survival.
But yeah something should be changed.

It's getting boring playing against the same killers using the same meta perks over and over again.
One side can't complain about the other when both sides do the same thing, constantly.
Both sides use the same perks, both sides are equally as toxic, both sides play scummy.
You're not entirely wrong but there's a better reason for killers than survivors.
Only certain killers are capable of putting up a fight against the current meta, and only a few select killer perks are good in general and even fewer that are good on all killers. Killers get much more diversity due to the nature of being way more unique than survivors.
Survivors aren't unique and the all benefit the same from perks no matter what. Something I'd like to see is maybe only 1 of that perk per match. No more x4 DH, BT, SB, DS, etc. Only 1 person gets that perk. Force diversity up in this #########.
