They're doing so to the point that it's no longer a contest.

"Most of the player base plays survivor, isn't good at the game and refuses to learn or practice what it takes to be a better player, they just make up terms for actions they lose to and yell at us. How about we make developments around the made-up terms that most of the player base clings to (ignore the reasons those actions are practiced in the first place) and screw over the people who dared to get good at eliminating survivors. We don't need to respect killer-players who are good at killing, the survivors just call them 'sweats,' let's just treat them like second-class players. The fun of survivors is paramount, it doesn't matter if it isn't even fair to our second-class players."

Pretty awkward stance for a game company to take.

It's so weird how many killers are acting like they're tragic victims here. These measures aren't even severe. Tunneling and slugging aren't being good at eliminating. They're ways to stay bad at pressuring gens and winning chases. Like talk about refusing to become better lol

  • I'm okay with some variation of this concept. I think it should be the three gens closest to the survivor spawn (instead of the furtherst from the killer cause thats wonky sometimes), to force people to move inward and not all hop on the first gen they see.

But if killers get more basekit perks then I would also like the slugging timer to be less than 90 seconds to make things a little more even. 90 seconds is kind of a joke. You can slug and hook everyone in that amount of time.

  • The internet is wild bro. Who cares what people have to say about something that doesn't even exist yet.

Yeah most of the time when its not a swf the remaining 2 are left with what 2 to 3 gens and they hide because they cant finish the match.

If the killer tunnels that is.

I wont mind it stacking againts a hardcore tunneler that just only has one goal and it is to wipe the person that got unhooked, wont even go break gen or injure others around him.

Im pretty sure this effect wont go in motion due to survivors self sabotage on hook, and not being saved when there has been only 2 or 4 hook states or 3 even.

As long as there has been a literal 2 unique hook states this effect shouldnt concern majority of killers.

Im 100% sure this will be clarified that it cant be abused by swfs and probably be taken down a notch to 4 unique hook states to match pain res, grim embrace

I feel fairly confident that letting people die or go second stage isn't going to punish the killer. Which, unfortunately, means hook camping might be moved up to the number one spot for trash tactics. Then that will need addressing.

Grants/gives the ability is not used strictly for permanent effects, though? When used for basekit abilities (see killers like Dracula and Vecna) and certain perks like Apocolyptic Ingenuity, it goes on cooldown or turns off until the pre-requisites are met again. I do know not everything does - notably Devour Hope - but it is not end all be all on permanence.

It would be useless if they had to do it again for another 90. The killer would just slug them again.

  • It's a lot less words to say, "If I tunnel two people in a row do the remaining two get a double buff?"

Gen Rushing and Tunneling are rushing ur objective. Regardless on how hard it is too Gen Rushing and how Easy it is to Tunnel they are still a very much the same idea of Rushing there objective.

Gen Rushing has been a problem for a good long time and still nothing. Yes the buff to Gen Regression is great and Haste is good but I don't think it's a enough. The most concern I have is that the Gen Speed buff will be Abused by triggering it intentionally by Survivors will be a very big issue. All they need to do is very simple. Have one Survivor Sacrifice themselves to the Killer by running up to them and "give up" then have someone else unhook them and that person who was just unhooked goes to find the killer to get tunneled out on purpose btw.

What else would you like survivors to be doing? If three survivors get on three gens with no toolboxes or perks and get them done in 90 seconds killers will still call it gen rushing even though its the base speed. Are they supposed to just go in the basement and paint at one another? Stand on a hill and wait for the killer to see them? Like what else can they do but gens?

If an unhooked survivor pursues you then just...ignore them? Like, if they're not doing gens and they're just chasing the killer they're currently useless. You could also just slug them and they can lay there for 90 seconds and be even more useless. Or you can hook them. The penalty doesn't mean it's a game loss. Losing a teammate is probably going to work out to be worse than the penalty. The buff survivors get from it is solely to make an early tunnel not a guaranteed loss. That sort of hopeless situation is why going next was such a big issue.

The solo players' situation is getting worse. I got betrayed by the premade party plays from time to time (like unhook right in front of the killer; obstruct the way so I can get killed faster, thus they can use flash lights etc.) so that they can get more blood points. Now they can even get a bonus by accelerating solo-players' death.

Lets be honest, solo-players cares nothing about tunneling and slugging, looping the killer is the best part of this game and get tunneled means you get to experience that more efficiently. When I get killed, I go to the next game. And no killers will intensively slug the surviver for no reason, most of time they just can't find where the survivor is. I can just leave the game and find my next game. You know who is angry about tunnelling and slugging? The team players who radically want to get an edge through team communicaiton, but ending up with the same game experience as the solo-players. They get ashamed into anger, and crying as babies for special treatment.

I'm a survivor main and I am really furious about these changes which further increase the gap between solo-players and premade party players. Your flase step that punishing killers for killing and awarding the survivor for loosing teammate will end up into completely new form of toxic behavior from premade party players . And you know their previledge is generated because of the solo-players in this game.

PS: I think a significant proportion of team players is toxic enough, its the game mechanics that prevent them from hunt me down directly. Your "promotion" is forcing the solo-players facing 4 killers in the game. Nice try DBD.

    "I love being tunneled."

"Killers never slug for no good reason "

Yeah I totally believe you're a survivor main with this one random response in this one post.

I've actually always maintained that tunnelling isnt as frequent as people claim it is. I tracked 420 survivor games a couple years back and averaged a tunnelling killer about 1 in every 12 games. But, in the 5 years I've played it has most definitely been the most complained about aspect of the game I've ever seen. I think negativity bias is a big part of that.

I think certain popular content creators, who rely on things like winstreaks for view$, give their audience the impression that that is just how killer is meant to be played. It's not. I actually dont think the majority of the killer base will be that negatively affected purely because I dont think most tunnel. It's the rapid online content consumers who become obsessed with 4ks that will feel it most. Especially since their content creators will not be happy. Kind of like the Wicked Witch sending out the flying monkeys

I agree. Content creators and whatever trash they spew seem to be a big issue in perception for both roles. But I don't engage with that. I only know what I experience. I also track my survivor matches (420 is awfully specific lol) because I was curious about the rates.

I played 13 survivor games yesterday, for example. Two had hard, intentional tunneling. Two had egregious, multi-person slugging. One had non-end-game hook camping. I flip back a couple days to one with 18 matches. Three with slugging, five with tunneling. Not great. My morale drops pretty severely from all this. I think that's the big issue, not so much the frequency (though 8 out of 18 is a lot) but how these things affect player mindset. I go into my survivor matches expecting cheese tactics and also failure. I don't go into my killer matches feeling that way.

I think at this point the devs also need to take a close look at the end game. It's been turned into something where literally anything can happen to flip the game heavily into the killer's favor, and so it incentivizes the least interaction and gameplay so survivors will just leave. No I'm not talking about tbagging at exit gates, but rather when someone is inevitably left hanging on hook and then people have to make the tough choice of even attempting a save or leaving them to die.

Perks like noed and no way out flip the game around into what was once a decisive victory and back into terrible danger. Or what was just barely a passing win into a crushing defeat. Blood warden still keeps survivors afraid of opening exit gates, or panic leaving before one of their team gets hooked.

Everyone is always saying "What else is the killer supposed to do!" but camping the last survivor on the hook is by far one of the most boring parts of the game, and arguably still frustrating if you happen to be a killer without any instadown or multi-hit capabilities.

Something really needs to change about the endgame.

I don't know what it needs but I agree—the end game needs to change.

As a survivor, getting hook-camped on my first hooking and being helpless is miserable. It's amazing when a group of randos rescue me, but it's infuriating when they abandon me, especially when I was the highest perormer in the match. I hate that I can't make any choices.

As a killer, I usually don't camp but that tends to costs me, but camping is so lame and boring. I don't really know what to do as killer in endgame.

First off buddy. I never relied on Tunneling and Killers will Leave the game because Tunneling is not A Exploit or a noob thing to do. Even the most Skilled and most experienced Killer mains Tunnel because its a strategy.

Its like saying Gen Rushing is a Scum thing to do because there rushing there Objective. If Killers can't Tunnel then Survivors shouldn't be able to Gen Rush because there literally the same darn Thing.

Killers Shouldn't be punished for playing Smart or Effectively. I was pissed when Survivors where being punished from the go next prevention system for being new or bad at the game.

Also The Gen repair Speed bonus for a survivor getting tunneled is possibly the most obvious survivor sided idea I've ever seen. All survivors would have to do is all use the game Survivor and Outfits all be injured and die on purpose to get the Gen Speed Bonus. Trust me Players know how to abuse stuff there's only a of time before it gets abused.

They might as well remove killer as a Role to play and make it a survivor Team horror game.

People are all over this forum comparing tunneling to gen rushing. The difference is that gens are the only objective survivors have to do in most matches. There are no other objectives. If I sit on a gen for 90 seconds and the killer just never comes by, how is that my fault?

Pretty sure they said they're updating the HUD so you can see who you last hooked. Then all you have to do is see if that's who you're chasing. Pretty easy to avoid if you just pay attention to what's right on your screen.

here I am, dying 10 survivor matches in a row, very often to players worse than me that played cheap.

If they beat you, they weren't worse than you.

Winning doesn't mean you were the most skilled. I've beaten teams that had better players than me on them. The game is killer-sided and one screw up can snowball for a team.

But if someone is incapable of winning without tunneling and slugging, then no, they weren't better than me. I've been killed by killers who can't land basics or specials, lose their chases, get no hookings all match and then get lucky and slug everyone. Their skills were actually trash yet they won.

And it's a team game. If I get three potatoes that doesn't mean the killer was better than me, it means my overall team was worse. Escape rates don't reflect skill, especially with slugging denying the hatch.

"These tactics" wouldn't have come into play if killers didn't have to use them against knowledgeable survivors to stand a chance at winning. If a team is experienced, you've got about 2 minutes from the start of a match to do something real enough to make a difference or you lose. Rotating hooks in perfect sequence instead of catching/pressuring whomever you find is a great way to lose the match as a killer, especially if you're playing an M1 killer. It's pretty lame to push the weaker killers on the roster to adopt a playstyle that sucks for them so casual survivor players can have more fun.

Unless there are plans to give comically weak killers like Ghostface and Trapper actual improvement passes on their lethality, these changes are a real dick-move.

Most players are casual players. The game should cater to its majority, not its stat-obsessed sweats.

And it's pretty likely we're going to see a ton of changes coming. This is just the beginning. They have to see how things go to know how to move forward. But if everyone just cries then there will be no changes and the game will stay stale.

  • @Dadeordye said:

By turbo tunneling (doing it at 5 gens) you're not giving a fair chance for survs to fight back, but at least you have to beat the surv in a chase. Survs use 2nd chance perks to avoid tunnel and these are REALLY annoying, but they need a certain lvl of skill to be used and can be dealt with.
Now with this proposed change they will surely be weaponized WAY MORE against killers.

Then we get to gen rushing. You don't need any skill to just sit and do gens faster than they should be. The killer is not given a fair chance because they ran out of time way sooner by a strategy that anyone without a brain can do.

And gen rush was never punishable, will still not be survs can always do this and you can win MUCH easier than a killer who tunnels.

Yeah it's super easy to win as surv yet here I am, dying 10 survivor matches in a row, very often to players worse than me that played cheap. I've never lost 10 killer matches in a row. I also barely find myself affected by second chance perks. If you don't tunnel or slug, you might get the occasional DH or DS activation, but I never even notice when people have Unbreakabke or OTR.

In what way would you like people doing the objective to be punished for doing it? What else should they be doing? There are no other objectives unless the killer has some built-in, like RBT and the lament configuration. I'm all for having more of those secondary interactables.

And clearly what's been shown isn't going to be all there is, forever. If half of this even gets past the ptb, it's going to need constant adjustments, especially in regards to how perks interact. If stats suddenly shift insanely towards survivor, the devs will notice and changes will be made. This is going to be an evolving group of complex changes yet everyone is instantly doom-and-gloom about it.

  • Ah yes, these mythical, super-skilled, god-tier 4-mans on comms that make up every single match.

  • @drag27 said:

no, they do. "killers play dirty?" oh you mean playing smart, you know since its 4 players (the survivors) vs 1 player (the killer). so lets make the 80% happy and heck with the 20% (the KM's).

these tactics were rare until survivors kept whining about getting gen regression perks gutted (Pop, pain res). survivors had the means to combat camp/tunnel/slug but felt entitled to not use perks and say that KM's should "just not do it". if you really think these changes are buffs and harmless, thats some next level delusion or you're a wolf in sheepskin (survivor main in KM skin)

I'm not a killer main or a survivor main. It's possible to play both halves of a game. Anything else is boring. And I simply play fair regardless of the role. Slugging at 5 gens is something done by people who refuse to actually play. They just want to inflate some stats no one cares about. I understand that my opponents are humans and they want to play a full match. It's crazy how hard that is for some people to understand.

  • @drag27 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/454906/im-kinda-done-with-dbd-rn

yea a lot of us are feeling that way. KM's no longer can play how they want and survivors decide how we play. be funny if these changes dont go live though

Survivors didn't decide. Killers decided by playing dirty too often and taking away other players' agency. And those players make up 80% of a match. It's logical to give the 80% a buff if they're all universally unhappy.

If these tactics were rare, this wouldn't have been an issue. And if you didn't engage with them before, you'll be buffed and unharmed going forward.

Not quite you see with this change you know taht a survivor on the ground will be up in 90 without you so you can stay on the gen. Also as killer you can't just chase another survivor easily because you risk to lose all the pressure you have. Normally if you have slug a survivor they will need to have another one to come and pick them up now yhey don't.

90 seconds is a crazy long time. Three survivors can do three gens with no toolboxes or perks in that time. Leaving someone in time-out that long is nuts and doing it on purpose won't be common.

And you could just, you know, hook them instead.

I don't tunnel unless someone is asking me to with body blocks (which won't work anymore) and flashlight clicks, and I only slug briefly if someone is nearby and I think they're gonna try for a save, so they're on the ground for like 15-20 seconds. I don't know if you'd even call that slugging. It's just caution. Leaving someone on the ground for 90 seconds is just gross. They should be able to get up and re-engage. And if you lose them as killer, aura reads will still show their location.

Despite not using these tactics, I have a 60% overall kill rate and an exact 60.00% with my main. I'm playing the game fair and I'm at the goal percent. That's how it should be.

  • @KingOfGhost said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3990498#Comment_3990498

Yes it's a buff ( we don't know the numbers and most likely will be low numbers) but this buff come with a lot of changes that force a particular play style for the killers and the play style is not fit for all killers ( example pig, twins, sadako)

You can still slug. 90 seconds is a hell of a long time for someone to be off gens. And you can still tunnel. You're just going to suffer for the choice. It's not like the game suddenly ends if you tunnel someone.

But you're not being forced to play one certain style. You're being discouraged from playing a largely frowned upon and dirty style.

Most likely adjustments will be made for those characters. RBT and Condemn will be considered as null effects or something. The three people that main Twins will be okay.

  • Killers are getting buffed. I'm about to have a hasted killer find me with basekit aura reading and get increased damage on my gen just for hooking someone. Both sides are gonna have to change. The shake up will be good to rattle everyone who's let their playstyle get stale and repetitive.

ofc, but seeing how the last ptb went…well let's say i don't have much faith lol

Oh it's 100% going to be a buggy mess. I think we can all agree on that.

  • So gen jockies should be punished through tunneling for doing the objective instead of clicking their flashlights and running the same obnoxious exhaustion/chase builds? Like what build to killers want? No gen build. No chase build. No second chance build. Like legit what do you want them to do? Cleanse dull totems with a meme build? I'd rather see a gen build then another godforsaken Lara Croft with Windows/Finesse/Lithe that loves looping the shack.

And you can still tunnel, you're just going to be punished for it. You can still do it and win.

Okay but BBQ is also one of the most common perks as is and in my killer matches almost no one tries to counter it when I run it. In my survivor matches I'm almost always the only one going in a locker or positioning myself behind a gen to block it (and other aura perks). People don't think.

one smoll issue about that statement, you are running the perk

meaning survivors don't know about this, this one they do.

You can still go after the unhooker. No one had a problem with that. The rescued person just gets to get away now. And they can no longer bodyblock, which makes it even better.

would love to, but with that unhook delay notfi they most likely have healed and moved on, especially with how overtuned healing is atm

You can tell when people are running BBQ when they run straight to another person after an unhook. Just pay attention. I hide anyway, as a precaution, until I figure out the killer's perks. Again, people don't think. The average potato will continue to not counter.

The game never should have announced unhooks to killers to begin with. I only run back to the hook if they unhook when I'm still like 3 meters away or I have nothing else going on. Basekit aura will provide me with a new target. And two people engaging with unhooks and healing means max two people on gens for you to pressure instead. People also tend to (stupidly) jump on a gen right near their unhook. You also still have other aura perks to utilize. Killers are getting basekit buffs with no perk nerfs.

You haven't even seen how this is going to play out. Everything in this will be adjusted. And by adjusted I mean nerfed.

yes i will get BBQ and chill on basekit but the survivor knows about it so they will just move and there u have i just lost my pressure looking for another survivor

it just show how disconnected this update is

Okay but BBQ is also one of the most common perks as is and in my killer matches almost no one tries to counter it when I run it. In my survivor matches I'm almost always the only one going in a locker or positioning myself behind a gen to block it (and other aura perks). People don't think.

  • Yeah I can't play it either. So half this stuff will be obliterated before I can even touch it.

  • I play both roles.

I'm anti-tunneling so as killer I'm completely happy so far. Basekit is being buffed. I'm getting mini perks for free. I'm finally being rewarded for playing fair. I'll have to see how gameplay goes, but so far I see no negatives if you aren't using cheese tactics. I actually excited to play killer more now.

On the flipside, as survivor I'm getting the worst issues addressed: tunneling and slugging. BUT as a sneaky gen jockey, my own personal playstyle might be negatively affected. I might be forced to improve at chase. And I'm okay with that if I can avoid spending the game on the ground or getting stuck spectating with an 8k score.

The birth of the "shift-W" meta seems to imply that was most players. More sweat-oriented players do take more to eating a ton of crap until they best the cheesiest tactics, and I'm always thankful when I'm matched with them against the Killers that employ it the most while I play gen jockey, but the majority are definitely struggling.

Chase also just isn't my favorite. I don't run any chase perks. I'm also a gen jockey, and I like being sneaky and stealthy. I like looking for hex totems. Objectives are more interesting to me. I wish there were more things to do. I don't really enjoy running in a circle endlessly.

You sadly expect too much. Especially in a game where eliminating your opponent asap is pretty much the main goal for one side.

Yet here we are, with a massive overall to the whole system for that very reason. Because people can't exercise good sportmanship on their own the game will now force them to. Had a match with a Sadako yesterday where every person was slugged at least 5 times. Had a Spirit play the same way and humped everyone repeatedly. This constant trashy, miserable playing is why we're here.

I play fair and all I'm getting from this as killer is a huge buff.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3990287#Comment_3990287

    That's another issue.
Sometimes you find a surv that is indeed better than you. Part of the process of playing killer efficiently is knowing this and go after another surv.
Chasing these survs is a good way to improve, but there's a limit on how many matches you can lose before going mad.😂

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3990284#Comment_3990284

Makes sense, but these "tunneling scenarios" are great to put your skills on test.
What I mean is that BHVR should stop taking survs by the hand so much because:

    1-How will they improve?
2-Favoring survs because they are the ones who spend more money in skins is a trash move and makes sense in a financial way, but I think they keep forgetting that they need people to want to play killer or else this game dies.

Hope so.There's also other two things bothering me:

1-Tunneling survs is indeed a more efficient way to win as killer, but survs will still be able to "tunnel" gens and nothing is being done to prevent crap like Hyperfocus+Stakeout.
2-They'll also keep using their 2nd chance crap anyways and now weaponizing them against the killer more than ever.

I've never really improved by being attacked again as soon as I'm unhooked and downed before I can even get to a safe spot for looping. It's not like chases are ending now, they're being spread out.

I think in short this new changes especially BBQ baseline will make it a bit tougher for swfs 4 mans.

Like by now they have everything down from releasing the gen when pain reso is proc, if its not dms.

Even with BBQ baseline this should make it a bit tougher because all 3 will have to hide and waste time by not moving closers for save.

    Pop will punish them too

    Haste helps as well.

120% or 125% on myers lingering a bit with his new lunge dash ability will be lethal xD

It might just be a 50/50 rival factor here

    I think so too.

I also think the ironic thing is that I feel I'm being helped with the big issues as survivor, but being hurt with a lot of my own gameplay methods. I'm a sneaky gen jockey. I use gens and lockers to counter BBQ and other aura perks. Sometimes I walk out the exit gates without the killer even seeing me once. That's gonna change now. I might need to get better at chase. It's a shake up I didn't want but probably needed.

But as killer, I feel only positives. This crying from other killers is bizarre.

    handholding for killers?

damn bro didn't know bhvr was holding my hand by the fact they literally been adding more restriction to my role for the past year

but i guess that is holding my hand and stopping me from playing the game

Removing the unhook notification is an excellent change. This is has been a simplistic basekit method that allows killers to tunnel without requiring much game sense, instead the game just tells them 'go here now'

just say u like to heal under hook and tbh im still gonna see it on the hud and come back i don't need a notification lmao

The whole point is to throw off people with bad game sense who don't even know where rhey hooked the person. Sure people will come back. That's expected. You're just supposed to go for the rescuer, not the rescued.

    Play with friends then.

It may sound rude but one should not expect a friendly behavior from the opposing side while playing against randoms in a competitive game.

    I expect fair, not friendly.

  • As someone who swerves on recent unhooks, doesn't slug, and intentionally spread hooks, I'm thrilled. Basekit is getting a big buff for fair players.

I have a friend that plays pretty bad as surv (never touches killer) and I'm helping her to improve.
How TF she is suppose to get better if killers start to simply ignoring her?!

But also, how can she improve if a killer identifies her as the weakest link and tunnels her out with minimal gameplay? The longer the weaker players can stay in the match, the more time they have to improve at skill checks, learn maps, understand gen and totem placements, try to identify and counter killer perks, etc.

    XD

Im telling you im going places with these new changes, im about to rival Pulsars 90% killrate.

If a high kill rate can be achieved without tunneling and slugging then I'm all for it. It's the 80%+ players who play dirty that I can't abide by.

I'm hyped for these changes. I'll probably be playing more killer now. My ethics have lost me matches, and now I'm going to be rewarded for them with buffed basekit.

  • Stayed quiet? The fog vials were the first fun thing survivors got in ages and killers cried until they were nerfed immediately, and they weren't even strong.

And the killer basekit is being buffed. I'm happy to have gen regress, aura, AND haste as basekit. I'm actually really excited to play more killer now. If you play fair, this isn't an issue.

Talk about whining about every slight inconvenience. This hasn't even hit ptb and your talking like survivors are winning every match already.

I think you can probably vouch for me and so can

@Pulsar Related to my myers post from few weeks ago where i complained higher mmr lobbies are not that playable because of how i cant spread hooks well no reward and i have to run meta perks.

Yet here we are finally BHVR doing something allowing killers to not rune pop, bbq, or PWYF even.

Generally speaking im really happy that this is coming i can finally feel happy to run grim embrace in my build.

The post i posted related to myers at 78%+ killrate where its not viable because cordinated teams and by the time i find them they finished gens and such.

Yeah I feel happy about this as both killer and survivor. I play fair as both, so it's a win for both. I like my matches to be long and close, not painfully one-sided. If anything, my favoring of stealth and gen-jockeying as survivor might be hurt a little, but it's worth it if the killer can't fastball me back to the lobby with a 6k score. It's also going to help killers who don't run aura perks avoid that one player who's great at chase and tries to take them on the whole match. They can find the others (me lol) now.

And yeah, this might actually shake up the killer meta, which is stale as all hell. Now I just want the survivor meta shaken.

I still think your wild for complaining about that kill rate though lol

These changes are awful. Anti-tunneling aside, the anti-slugging is problematic too! Maybe if they make it take a little bit longer, because then a teammate can get you up, but every perk in the history of the game that let you get up for free had to be nerfed because it's so strong, so now they're just giving it to everyone basekit? I really hope the ability to crawl and get yourself up at the same time doesn't go through, but I don't know what they're thinking anymore

How much longer than 90 seconds? That's a long time. Three gens can get done by three people in 90 seconds.

  • Mini basekit haste, BBQ, and Pop are insane buffs for fair killer-players. So is post-hook anti-collision. Even if they're not as strong as the perks, I'm absolutely thrilled. I already avoided tunneling so this is all positive for me. I can't see many negatives to this if you're a fair player, except for abuses by skilled 4-mans, and they will always find a way to abuse things so I'm not going to judge changes that help the majority based on the behavior of the minority.

  • Legit just let it play out. Half of this is going to get nerfed or adjusted anyway.

But dude, you have no argument on WHY they should stop disabling them at the end. Our argument is the fact that it'd make it even harder for killers to get a kill at the end if they've already had a terrible game. What is the killer supposed to do during End Game if they got no kills? Just give up and walk away and let the rest of the survivors simply free the hooked person and leave because the anti-camp feature will free them anyway? They need at least a chance to get a kill, and disabling the features gives them a slightly better one.

Here's a scenario that happens to me a lot:

Killer chases me. Loses chase. Chases me again. Misses basic attacks. Loses again. Chases again. Gets whacked by 5 pallets. Loses. Killer gets 0-2 hookings the whole match. Killer finds me because I finished the last gen. Hooks me. Camps me to death.

Explain to me why this terrible player I did better than for the entire match deserves this free kill consolation prize.

  • As a killer who actively avoids tunneling and tries to play fair (sometimes to my detriment), I'm getting some much needed buffs with haste, basekit BBQ, and increased gen damage. No collison is also great. Adios post-hook body blocking.

As a survivor who gets tunneled and/or slugged every third match, I'm tired of trash killers who can't even land basic attacks or mind-game getting 4ks. 90 seconds is a mighty long time, but punishing killers for tunneling with gen speed-up and no more regressions is very nice.

My only concern is coordinated teams that will try to sacrifice themselves to boost their team, but I think that'll be minimal, like how coordinated 4-mans are already minimal. There are way more soloqers and average players than there are sweats. I also think there should be a timer for hooking the same survivor twice. If I come across the same person, fully healed and on a gen, I'm supposed to ignore them? Or am I supposed to slug them and leave them in time out for 90 seconds?

Really happy the lore is sticking around too.

Glad for the adjustments to Dracula's bats. They were a little clunky. A little sad about wolf form but I will still love being the wolf so whatever.

Very curious to play as new Myers.

Buuuuttttt I'm also sure half of this won't make it past the ptb. We couldn't even keep the fog vials.

I do agree to some extent. If the feature doesn’t hurt killers who try to avoid flashlights and locker stun saves by slugging until the pickup is possible, maybe it’ll be an okay change? But if it’s not accounting for that it’ll make 4man bully squads more difficult to catch and punish. Can’t pick because of stun and can’t chase because of antislug, a lose-lose through no fault of the killer.

The skilled 4-mans are actually my only concern. But I also don't think the game should revolve around that small fraction of players. They're damn hard to deal with no matter what's in place anyway. They already do quite well as is. It's the mid level and soloqers that really need some help.

You are literally rewarding survivors for being bad now…

Bad survivors need to be able to spend time in a match to improve, not die immediately because they were easy to tunnel. And bad killers have been rewarded by tunneling and slugging for a very, very long time.
