I have played enough killer to know that you can play at high levels without too much practice. Yeah, you aren’t going to take on a team of rank 1’s or a 4 man swf, but those are hard to do anyway. Point is that in a few hours, any player who plays red ranks regularly should be able to stay in red ranks with a new killer.

Stay in red ranks yes possibly because the ranking system will give you a safety Pip with 0 kills, even if you just Chase One Survivor the entire match, long as you literally don't stand still you don't drop so that's not a very good argument dropping rank. I'm just speaking as an overall voice I wish I didn't have to learn blight at Red rank I have been tinkering with him lately and I've been doing much better than expected considering my rank and it has been so fun he is much more fun than I thought you would be. But it took me a while to try him because of my rank I was waiting for the MMR to learn him cuz i didn't want to learn him at a high rank I did turned out fine doesn't mean it would for everyone nor be fun for everyone so I understand where others are coming from.

I mean, plenty of good players have said this before. Good survivors will get on those totems, only 5 spawn per match, all in pretty familiar/well known spots (albeit indoor matches are a bit tougher but regardless). They will get hammered out fast by a good team/good players. I have never complained about Undying or Ruin (I even would go as far to say I'd want Ruin to go back to its old state) but it is what it is. Actually happy the bad killers will be leaving/quitting.

Leaving over it as a little absurd. But I've been using lullaby on my Huntress I've had one game where it stayed up the entire game a few games were made it to 4 but for the most part by the time I hit three it gets cleanse mostly because I play on the same three or four maps in the totem spawns are not very well on those. I always seem to get those right out in the open totem spots Branson's last game it was the totem spot in the killer Shack. Like that one's not going to get found quickly I'm surprised I made it to Three Stacks.

You can't get 8 second chances on a survivor.

    You clearly don't play Survivor.

And technically you can there is no limit to how many times you can use dead hard but you can use three at least, decisive strike and unbreakable if you pull both off is two add soulguard to it that could be number 6 how about a med kit with a septic agent that's 7 I'm sure you guys can put your imagination together and figure out an eighth one.

I think OP should go watch some killer mains like Hexy (who doesnt run Undying, and who hasnt lost a game since Jan 1st) or Otz. Both really smart players, both don't even touch Undying anymore, hell Otz usually runs 3 perks instead of 4 and none of them being Ruin/Undying. Comes out with 3k/4ks regardless. & yea, I don't even touch those survivor perks. I don't remember the last time I ran DS/UB/SG/DH.

All this is, is a temper tantrum. I don't see this as a legit complaint, if you are actually going to leave because your favorite crutch perks you relied on thus far are getting nerfed and you don't know how to play w/o them, then so be it.

Agreed as I've said before I might actually run I'm dying now so that I can play with Lullaby. I know it's not super strong but it's just a funny perk to me. And devour hope is always really awesome if you can get it to power up it's just really hard in its current state to pull off.

Exactly ruin undying, tinkerer, surveillance combo is the equivalent 2 survivors who need to run spine chill, dead hard, ds/ub/sg together, or just Sprint burst away anytime they hear a terror radius you're just not as good as you think you are if you're relying on those crutch perks.

And just to be crystal clear I have no personal beef with what anybody runs it's your game play how you want just don't think your king s*** when running those builds.

  • @Volcz said:

Meh, no loss here. Not like it'll be bad, it just won't be as strong post nerf. There's plenty of good killer mains who don't rely on it and use it every game, while still getting 3k/4ks right now. If you can't play w/o it/when its nerfed, just makes me think you were never really a good Killer player. SWF or not. Just a dumb excuse. Have a good one mate.

I get that at low ranks its strong, but ranks 1-3 its simply a way to help you get some trackion.

I as a killer do not wanna sweat 2/3 matches against good swf with all their op perks completely untouched for years when the killer finally gets something to help early game at red ranks and its nerfed within 3 months.

The devs say they want something to help with early game... well you had it but all the bad survivors complained so you nerfed it into the ground immediately.

If they complain about something as simple as doing totems what the hekk are you ever gonna be able to do to help early game lol

Devs need to get a back bone, stop babying bad survivors and force them to learn how to loop in a chase.

Bruhh as a fellow killer Main disappointed every time I see an undying ruin post and I mean from both sides the perk is being changed get over it start practicing other builds now. There are other very viable gen regression perks. I personally only run Pop Goes the Weasel every once in awhile on certain Killers maybe thano and not once do I feel ruin and undying is a must. On top of that I am very excited for this change because I'm a big fan of Huntress lullaby end of our hope and this change can help both of them. Two different parts that aren't ran often then gives a much-needed change

It may take practice to compete, but it’s not like playing a new killer has a high enough learning curve to make you de rank to yellow. Realistically at the worst you would derail to 4 or 5, but the idea that this rank 20 level of MMR is necessary is ridiculous.

So I've said this before on here MMR worked for a few of my Killers when it was released the first time I'll use plague for an example I hadn't used her in Forever my first match was against like you said some 16 to 20s. But the next match then immediately upgraded me and threw a green or to into the Match. Then all greens then a couple of purples then all purples so on and so forth so it's not like you got a build from rank 20 to 19 to 18 with each killer or from 0 to 20 or however they want to word it your opponent's get upgraded very quickly depending on how you perform. Which is also why I truly believe you will not only see Freddy spirit and nurse as a rank 1 Survivor you will see other killers smash them right back down to the purples but then see them a game or two later hypothetically.

  • @scottymo said:

Gee wait 10 minutes in survivor queue check

get matched against a perked and Mori L2 spirit check

the rest are 10+ except the 1 L4 check

the L4 basically throws and dies first check

the spirit camps and slugs check

    Hot trash mode activated check

See the same will have 3 5+ and 1 L10 against a 16 killer. Naturally 3 of us run gens in while the killer gets looped into submission. Check

we all have a tea bag party at low level killers expense check

hot trash level 2 mode activated check

You played spirit nothing else matters. They all tunnel every single one I have played against they can't seem to help it soon as they hear the hook notification they phase straight back to it it's like a dog hearing the food hit their bowl.

Survivor perks do get nerfed like the examples people have stated. Not to mention that all recent killers have been strong additions barring twins

while perks like gearhead or coup didn’t need a nerf nobody was going to use them anyway so does it matter?

Most maps have become more killer sided with the three most recent maps being the most killer sided in the game(saloon Hawkins and midwich)

Not to mention perks like ruin and tinkerer getting substantial buffs to help them.

As a red rank killer I have little trouble 4king most matches

Obviously, my profile pic will tell you I'm a killer main. I have been playing Survivor all day though I have only died twice with no exhaustion perks no spine chill I will admit I have been running prove thyself even though I despise the perk as a Killer. Nonetheless I agree with what you said about the maps those three are the most killer sided maps perhaps that's why they rarely show up? The maps that spawn the most you ask? Corn, Azerov, McMillan, and Haddonfield. I might get to play on one I repeat one of those three Maps every few days.

  • You can get your Eight Second Chances on any Survivor each killer is unique in their own way it takes practice to be viable with when playing against intelligent survivors.

An escape really always ought to result in a safety pip at minimum, no matter what.

Well so the camping Claudette that hid in a bush the whole game and then hopped In hatch with five gens remaining should rank up?

  • Same I only found out recently when I searched the wiki on Google but I had to specifically type in Portals and was looking or something else entirely about portals and I seen that in there I was like really never knew that. And I've played to P2 on him I'm 98% sure it does not say that in his power description on the game what could be wrong

I don't think he will, I was just saying that because that would be the requirement for me to stop playing this game sooner. He's absolutely not a weak killer either, he's really good. It's just the general opinion on the forums that certain killers like Demo are low tier even though he has one of the best map mobility tools in the game if you set it up right, and a power that can shut down the strongest tiles in the game. I definitely recommend buying Demo, he's really rewarding and fun to play.

This. He brings a lot to the table and he is one of the last Killers you want to 3 gen yourself on. Not bottom tier but could use some add on changes.

  • I'm about a month-and-a-half away from my year mark and I almost have all killers except for nurse and blight at Prestige 3 bet your ass I ain't stopping now. Play my first game with blight tonight had a daily OMG he was so fun did much better than I expected for my first game considering my rank can't wait to put more time into him.

  • I'm excited about it can't wait to have some protection for lullaby and devour. No better feeling than pulling off a Devour hope win.

  • @GoobyNugget said:

Unnerving presence isn't that much of a problem for me, even if its a doctor, sure its annoying, but it doesn't make me mad enough to go full ape mode and start trash talking the killer. UP is just kinda.. there, y'know?

Idk seems to help hit greats imo as survivor so I don't run it as killer. Have been using Lullaby tho and been seeing explosions everywhere at red ranks.

  • @DecisiveDwight said:

Why do I even need to ask this why are you killer mains giving THE WORST survivors the hatch? Example I sit there and do 3 gens and I get caught over the complete wuss hiding in a locker or just crouching in the corner of the map then the killer gives the hatch to the last survivor aka Mr Ash who did Jack all game. So tell me what makes you give the last survivor hatch do you feel bad for them because they're a noob and can't do a gen for a second without blowing it or do you just like to torture us survivors that work hard in the match?

Sorry this happened to you. I personally keep an eye out for this as killer. Just last night had a jane on hook, claudette on my shoulders carrying to hook, nancy free out in open I assumed going for rescue right? Nope lets Jane die on hook I drop claudette and go on the hunt for nancy who I was going to give hatch to because that's my survivor main but that is just unacceptable, she died claudette lived.

  • he's in my top 3. I personally have not put in the time YET with nurse, I just don't like spirit I'm not good at guessing and personally I took her to P3 and she not me. Bubba I know can lack map pressure at times but the insta down can down multiple enemies at once that is very dangerous. I run Infectious on him to keep the train going so ya my personal top 3 is not the usual spirit freddy nurse/billy. Well I do love freddy but that's a childhood thing not a dbd thing. he was my fav way before this game made him hated and OP.

  • What? Where did I say she was? Where talkin fun killers to play not tournament style/ play for money style which is what I exactly said If you told me to pick a character to play for money I would choose freddy, bubba, or hag. Indicating those are the 3 I feel most comfortable with not that hag is licensed. Btw

  • @Mikeasaurus said:

Without his add-ons he's incredibly tough to win with. Personally, I let survivors work on gens at the start while I set up. I always try go for a 3 Gen so I try make sure they stay away from my area as I set up. Most times this gives them a false sense of security that they think they'll win easily until they suddenly begin to realise they just 3 Gened, and traps are in every possible entry to the gens. Combine this with the Bloodied Coil so when they attempt to disarm them, they're hurt and boom. Add on the Insta-Down add-on if they free themselves and they soon become paranoid of going near gens again. Doesn't always work but it's a lot of fun seeing survivors trying to figure out how to bypass traps like ninjas or face being injured/downed.

Bloodied coil and honing stone is good but the 30 sec reset with honing stone is crazy good if you have good trap placement. Only bad thing for trappers is honing stone is very rare to get in bloodweb the red add-ons are easier to get than the purple honing stone.

  • So to me fun does not mean to killer I am best with I actually have the most fun with lower tier killers. If you told me to pick a character to play for money it would be Freddy, Bubba, or Hag. However when I am done with the grind the characters I will use the most will be as follows based solely off the fun I have when using them even with 0 kills. Plague, Twins, Trapper, Hillbilly, Legion in that order.

Sorry for late response I fall asleep early. Anyhow no misread no where did I say make fun of you I said I won't make fun because I can't see wraith either maybe I should have been more clear and put just like your team in there oh well just clearing that up.

  • @hatchking said:

Another is the fact that I'm the only one on my team that can see the wraith

Lmao I won't make fun I can't ever see wraith either. Not sure why. Wraith was the first killer I used and is still one of my favorites and I get seen almost everytime but I never see him when I'm survivor smh. I am also corn blind usually takes a few swings to hit in corn if not trust me I got very lucky with my blind swing, also can't see nothing with Deep wounds so if i'm being chased i will run into a wall at some point and go down, so needless to say I cry when I see badham and corn as killer. Idk maybe I need glasses? Maybe it's the game? Maybe both lol. My most annoying thing to go against tho as survivor is trapper as since I'm blind don't see traps and as killer Spine chill I despise this perk especially for stealth killers to bad too would really help with my wraith blindness.

I've lurked in these forums for a little while now, mostly to get a feel for how the community feels about different game aspects. For reference, I've been playing the game off and on since it dropped on Xbox and have just about 1200 hours logged, so, not a veteran but not new either. I play both roles, have multiple killers and survivors P3 and such (not an accomplishment but meant to give scope to the roles I play).

Is solo survivor truly the miserable experience that many claim it to be? I've played solo survivor for 99% of my survivors games save for 4-5 games I had with an SWF 2 years ago. I tend to have a great time in solo except for the times I run the killer for a long time and no gens are done or when I'm being camped and my teammates swarm the hook leading to slugs and a loss for all survivors. I don't expect to escape, just pip the majority of my games. If I pip and die but some of my teammates get out, then I feel accomplished and I won.

Is it possible that other solo survivors that are having a miserable time are just thinking of the game as a 1V1 instead of the 4V1 that it is? Bad games like I mentioned ( long chases with no gens completed or being camped and being one hooked while team all dies) happen but are not the majority of games. I noticed a difference in the way both killers and survivors play when I moved from Japan (where I lived for the last few years) back to the United States so maybe region and players attitudes in said regions has something to do with it, but the difference was not significant.

I just hope that other people can see the good that solo survivor is, the great coordination that goes on even though no one knows each other or can talk together. The friendly messages that get sent when one random teammate goes back to save you by the skin of their teeth, even when they could of just left to save themselves. The relief in seeing a borrowed time icon when being saved and the killer turns around the corner or when a survivor jumps to thier feet on their own from dying state when you led the killer away on a chase. These are the positives I see in this aspect of the game, to be able to win when at a disadvantage without communication or familiarity and to see people's actions when their teammates are not those they know or friends.

Anyways, thank you for reading and I hope to see you in game!

I completed 3 of D Kings tome 2 challenges in solo play yesterday. Played 4 games got escape with d king, chased for 30 sec and escape, and protection hit and escape, 4th game tried another one but hardcore tunneling ghostface poor meg was dead in 30 seconds and I couldn't do nothing to help since my d. king was only level 8 except take a hit for her and try to get him to chase me but he had tunnel vision. But 3-4 games with 2 yellow perks I was happy.

  • @richtofen1202 said:

I am relatively new to the game, I have 130 hours and I just learned that on the map "the game" the hatch can't spawn on the upper floor.

Does this also apply to other maps that have a second floor? Like Midwich?

Maybe I am just dumb but I feel like the game should tell you this, maybe as a tip during the loading screen?

I remember when I checked top floor once because I swear I checked everywhere and couldn't find it. It's make logical sense you jump through a hatch on a 2nd floor your dropping to the 1st floor in the same building so I never checked a 2nd floor again. btw hatch was on first floor that game in a place I swear I looked pesky hatch.

Blindness is the one thing that's completely worthless against SWF on comms. I suppose you think you go against SWFs more than you actually do.

And one of my teammates plays in the same room on another TV which helps but still takes time so don't tell me what I play against like you live in my house an know all my opponents cuz if you do start chipping in on rent

No offense bro but when I play with my friends and blindness pops up nothing sucks worse than trying to explain to one of them where I am on the map is it as hard as playing against it in solos no but not everybody knows the exact location and spot of every single map an can tell you the fastest way to get there still slows you down.

If they need nerf SWF, those players will leave. If they don’t do anything to SWF, killers leave. I honestly would not want to be in the Devs shoes when having to decide what to do in a situation like this but I hope at least something will be done about it.

I have said this before but they should give Solo survivors Kindred basekit without the killers aura reading and give that aura reading over to Camaraderie (Steve’s Perk). That way players could make an unhook safely and get more time to decide what the play is if the killer is nearby. Thoughts?

I used to feel The same way about swf but they do make you better and Survivor should be allowed to play with their friends. I want to thank the person yesterday in a post I'm sorry I can't remember your name but you told me a build and I just tried it and I loved it work beautiful against swf. Third seal knockout and infectious Fourth perk I can't remember what you said but I personally ran BBQ as I'm leveling up killers. Bubba was the one who had the belt now I only ran it in the Green version and it still worked great can't wait to see what it does with maxed perks also going to try his add on where the chainsaw Hides auras as well.

About the hatch escape, the description of RBT is very clear that it will trigger if the survivor try to escape through the gates, and gates only. You can check that out when you look at her power's description.

But other than that, it's a gg.

check it again matter of fact I'll save you the trouble a survivor with an active reverse bear trap is automatically sacrificed when they're timer expires or if they attempt to leave the trial with an active reverse bear trap still attached is what it says check it again. LEAVE THE TRIAL so nea should be dead

  • @MonsterInMyMind said:

Okay i mean i don't see how this is the developers fault you commited to a chase with what i assume to be a full health jake instead of slugging the nea and then complain that she found hatch im failing to see what your point is they made it very clear that you can escape through hatch with an active trap on your head so what is it exactly you're trying to say?

so I should have went back to hook slugged her off of it which must mean that's how you play and obviously it's not clear enough if I didn't know that and I've been playing for a year where do they say that at?

  • @EvanSnowWolf said:

Normally I defend Killers, but in this case I need to point out a lot of Survivor perks have requirements. Just a few examples include:

    Inner Strength (Totem)

    We're Gonna Live Forever (Various)

    Deliverance (Unhook)

    Detective's Hunch (Generator Completion)

Wow do I totem get a 8 second damn near Insta heal. Wglf you have the entire game to either take a protection hit or unhook somebody to gain stacks same as barbecue with the hooking. Detectives hunch do your objective which is repairing Jen's and you see every totem in chest in the map very difficult. Now Deliverance yes that one I agree with as that one can be difficult you got to hope you don't get hooked or tunneled before you can unhook someone else and then not Farm unhooked by a teammate

I don't mind spine chill, but i think that this perk is a real crutch perk.

Most players that like spine chill, can't play without it.

Maybe my only beef with the perk is that it pops up for undetectable killers kind of defeats the point. It's called undetectable for a reason! Anyhow been using blood favor recently and if it stays up can really cause some Ruckus especially in the killer shack it's so hilarious to watch a survivor get hit and then run to the pallet in the shack and get hit at the pallet because they can't drop it. Apparently the video is being sent to the devs because I'm a hacker another person in that same Lobby I said good game but who uses blood favor LOL me today apparently worked on you.

  • I know Windows of opportunity helped me a lot to track down resources throughout the map just a thought help me a lot when I was learning Survivor I still use it from time to time.

  • What I do is have an Escape Route planned before I HOP on a gen so I know the exact route I plan to take. I'm not expect Aguilar Survivor by any means I play mostly killer I'd say about 70% of the time. I have terrible luck is killer I only seem to get three Maps Haddonfield, Auto Haven, and McMillan truthfully I hate all the maps the only ones I get excited for or Hawkins at midwich because I see them so rarely but I noticed when I started Chase maybe it's just my luck but I feel like I have to eat seven pallets a Chase I know if I'm using my top three killers not that big of a deal they're built for it oh and I use the other 90% of my roster it becomes a problem when I have this bad RNG this game I just played it was probably the worst I've ever had hey baby Meg could have ran me through that map for 30 minutes I feel like. I suck as a survivor and I'm finding it easier to run killers which tells me that there are much more resources being put into the maps.

Easiest 2 ways are when a killer is carrying a survivor and at exit gates get in between another survivor when killer comes.

Plague needs a lot of help.

Yes she does but Bhvr don't know who plague is she was accidentally added to this game by an outside source and they don't know who or how to fix so they ignore her lol. Anyway wraith, trapper, ghosty, and clown all needed help as much as her maybe more. Clown will HOPEFULLY be better, wraith I don't see the invisibilty changes helping much at least not in purple and red ranks, trapper they might have made worse or 1% better. plague is buggy and controlled by survivors.

Hey man I didn't play DBD in tome 1 didn't start playing till end of tome 2 and that is one Bad ass trapper outfit so thanks Bhvr I scooped that one up real quick. Good looks.

On top of that you earn 70 tiers worth of ######### for the same price as I paid for this trapper skin so you still got the better deal.

I just need to know Behaviour. Why are you guys making these outfits that players worked on getting during the time range to unlock, as a item that can be bought now? At this rate, you guys should just put Legacy up there for sale, seriously though.

but will he be the goodest boi?

honestly I just want to see more monster/animal based killers. the one thing this game really lacks is killers that aren't guys with knives or other assorted instruments.

Ya demo and vic all we got really. Main reason the zenomorph is my dream chapter just want something different. I get why it won't happen now though:(

I want a werewolf because I want the community to fight on whos the goodest of good bois between the werewolf and demogorgon.😖

Bhvr would prolly make a weak werewolf so demo would prolly be stonger. Would love to see a werewolf in this game though a unbugged one ofc.

We all know what tunneling is, but sometimes seem to forget what tunneling isn't.

    Tunneling is not:

    • Punishing someone bodyblocking you because they have BT after getting off of hook.
    • Punishing someone bodyblocking because they have DS and want to abuse that.

The main point is, if you just got off of hook and aren't trying to get away from me as fast as possible, but instead try to bait me with BT/and or DS, I have every right to tunnel you since I deliberately went out of my way not to and that's the thanks I get.

This is the exact reason Mend needs to be more punishing. Everytime someone has BT they feel the need to bodyblock me going for the unhooker I used to always hit them to make them mend but then I realized that cost me more than them. Maybe it will help next patch idk doubt it. As for DS I completely agree survivors need it there are alot of trashcan killers out there in ALL ranks that bolt straight back to the hook soon as they here it no matter what there doing (assuming they left it in the first place) but there is nothing worse then hooking someone going to a gen finding survivors there starting a chase downing someone hooking that person and x amount of time later you catch the original person at a gen, or unhooking, or just heading to another gen and get his with ds from 2 chases ago. Every time I'm like what the hell oh yaaa damn it I hate that perk.
