You don't need to take the complaint personally.
The developers are the ones who design the game in a way to the point where these types of perks are just so much more powerful. I don't think people should be blamed for picking up on something so clear and free.
But i don't think we should attack devs for this either. It is a game. Their game. We can try steer the direction of how we want the game with posts like these but it's up to the devs at the end of the day.
Personal?
It's just my honest opinion and my amusement over the now side switched behaviour.
Back then we whined about the same thing and often got dismissive comments but now the shoe is on the other food, not for years but weeks to months and it has reach already peak levels from back then. Which shouldn't be surprising when the problems affect the bigger part of the playerbase (probably minus the pure swf player).
Also not necessarily the same people that have been dismissive back then and complain now, but there is a certain overlap here and there.

Hi, this is just a short summary of stupid changes/implementations of the new forum ui on mobile since i am on this forum exclusively from my smartphone:
1. Notification button is hidden behind the profile button.
Why do I need to open that extra tap to see my notifications? It took a week before i even knew where it had gone and only noticed because I tilted my phone and then all buttons become visible on screen simultaneously. I don't need to see that i am in the DBD forum with the logo, better show me that i have new notifications/messages directly ON SCREEN.
2. Whose idea was it to make the "New" note on discussion black on a dark background? 🤣🤦
Same with the dot that shows which notification you havent read, also black on black.
First pic, new notification dot being unrecognizable
Second pic, comparison of headline in vertical (also the logo clips over several other things)
Third pic, the dark "new" signature that others have already mentioned and the missing notification on the top compared to vertical mode.

Others and me have proposed spider killer concepts years ago. Sadly nothing came of it.
I would've loved a killer with a wall/ceiling crawling movement like the alien from the old alien vs Predator 2.
But then they would have to recode many interactions and limits around Hich objects like trees, outer walls, main buildings like the nurses asylum.
It would be awesome to be able to pounce across half the map up from the wall of the asylum or the roof of some house on Haddon field, true jumps cares. But it would probably be a hell to balance when the killer can simply crawl over loops, probably slow movement speed and a hefty cool down on the pounce so the spider can't just crawl over a loop and immediately pounce.
-
Damn i find the irony hilarious at this point. All these complaints about seeing the same killer perks again and again.
And the only thing i have to say is:
Welcome to how killer felt during the years 3-5, dh/ds/ub/BT/.... Any combination of those plus one extra, on 4 survivors, in the majority of games.

Harsh penalties will only kill the game. There's a reason people d/c. Maybe we should address those reasons, in the best possible way, so that they are happening way less (Because let's be real, people will d/c for the silliest reasons). The AFK thing, people will find a loophole around. I don't know what sandbagging is.
Should there be penalties for bad behavior stuff? Of course. I don't think giving harsh penalties is the answer, though. I think addressing why people are doing it should be the better route.
Ehm aren't you contradicting yourself here?
"There's a reason people DC. Maybe we should address those reason..."
And then two sentences later:
"Let's be real, people will DC for the silliest reasons"
How can you address silly reasons?
You cant address people throwing at the slightest bit of inconvenience/not having fun/having an effort demanding match.
And let's be honest, times when the penalties have shown that's it's by far not only camping, tunneling or slugging. I know from experience since i was a friendly killer and even i had a disconnect upon first down, playing the wrong killer, having the wrong perk or us ending on the wrong map (without any map offerings being used).
People a little wussies when there are no consequences to their actions.
Edit: Sandbagging: blocking other survivors at bottlenecks like pallets, doorway or narrow hallways so the killer can hit/down them.
And to the afk loophole, either they are truly detectable afk or the can still work as a distraction for the killer. And if they decide to hide all the time, simply implement a condition that survivor need to do something like progress a gen or cleanse a totem for a certain amount of progress in a certain timeframe otherwise they get notification crows. This would btw also solve the problem of the last 2 survivor outstealthing each other and holding the game hostage.

You don't want to punish selfish people
You want to punish people with bad internet, crashing PC, having to be AFK due to an emergency, etc
People that try to play with others while knowing that they have connection problems or regular crashes and don't care that they might inconvenience their teammates and other players in the match deserve it and only have themselves to blame.
And if it happens rarely then they have to take bullet for the rest of the playerbase. I know because I also had isolated crashes or disconnects during a net hickup and took the penalty without whining because I know that they are necessary in the time of online anonymity.
And if i have reoccurring crashes or disconnects? Then i simply switch to a singleplayer game, read a book or do something aka take the hint that this is not my evening to play a certain game.

So in other words, you can go past 90° with a mouse with ridiculous settings, but cannot with a controller...
Seems fair
Well that difference goes for any aiming as killer, or camera movement on PC vs console?
With mouse you can make precise motions or turn any angle up to 720° on the spot even without dpi switching just by the amount you move the mouse.
With controller you have a minimum and a maximum turn speed, that has always been the case. The minimum where tilting the stick starts the motion and the maximum when tilting completely to one side depending on the sensitive set in the setting.
That's nothing new and one of the biggest differences between PC (M+K) and console, aside from performance.
It's a physical limitation, just like the controller is infinitely better for slow sneaking movement vs keyboard switches that only go on/off.

Like people already pointed out, if the survivors want to quit but don't want to DC, and if they can't hook suicide, they will just throw the match.
I much rather see people quitting than staying in the game giving me a false sense of winning. I don't want to waste my time with hopeless games. But that is just me.
And other have elaborated the options those people then would have:
Dc-> increasing time out penalty
Afk -> needs a kick after a minute + leaver penalty
Sandbagging etc. -> report followed by ban.
Aka consequences for those people. But i get it you don't care. Then maybe stop caring that people like me want to punish those people for their selfish actions and if they leave the game, better for the rest that has the guts to push through.

Why play multiplayer games? Because I want to and because it's fun
And also, you basically already said every multiplayer game has DCs. So why with DBD would be any different?
Other games have either refill or rejoin mechanics or punish quitter without exception.
DBD doesn't have any of the first two and survivor only can circumvent the penalty by hook suicide, the thing that this thread is complaining about.

For all the non french speaking folks like me, a quick Google translation:
"Hello,
Will it be possible in private game to have a bot playing the killer?"
-
I stuck with my trusty Lightborn, BBQ (rest in piece old friend 😢) and a variety of passive action speed up perks:
iron maiden for locker checks, brutal force for kicks and pallets, bamboozle for the windows and one or two others, depending on what i had on the respective killer.

Yeah the thing is you can say this all you want to but it wont change anything. In an ideal world, sure. In reality....?
"You call it self correcting but uhh boy, the amount of swf i expect to load into a game only to get instantly ditched by the killer for a bot with no penalties"
Again, you say this but in reality if they are going to leave one way or another, they will regardless. Most people actually want to play a game through and taking them out of queues just makes matchmaking times worse.
As killer, I never tunnel off hook and I never camp and you know what? I pretty much never get DC's and I don't think that is just coincidental (though people still DC very occasionally for no apparent reason).
I think DC's would no doubt increase at first if removed, as we see currently. But eventually things will even out as the vast majority want to actually play matches and DC's or suicide on hook clearly ruins that.

Sorry but this last part alone is incredibly naive. People will better themselves over time?
Please. 😮💨
Online anonymity brings out the worst in people and they will continue to do so when there are no consequences to their actions.
And you (not as a person) want to remove the DC penalty aka the ONLY consequence there is right now? Good luck, especially when lackluster bots will dampen the effective outrage, relative to what happens now upon a DC and especially in times of no penalties, but not really solve to problem. Only leave it in a half satisfactory state.

Address the problem, not the symptoms.
You can't force people to play a game they aren't enjoying.
I'll show you exactly what'll happen.
People keep DCing! Increase DC penalties. Playercount drops. Hook suicides rise.
People keep suiciding on hook! Remove the ability to self-unhook. Playercount drops, people going AFK rises.
Something has to be done about AFK players! Penalties for being AFK. Playercount drops, People sandbagging or rushed action spamming rises.
It's a cycle. You can only fix it by addressing the root issues.
Ah yes, the usual doomsday prophecy caused by DC penalties. And the root issues is still a missing backbone in ragequitters.

Yes. I think the DC penalty is dumb and should be removed.
The bot system that has been proposed would be infinitely better. Until then, I'll begrudgingly and graciously tolerate DC penalties.
But I genuinely don't care when they're off. Nothing changes in my games. People DC more but hook suicide less.
Oh the bots. At first i was on board with this idea but when thinking again it will be hilarious and not much better than your prophecy.
Certain killer character will probably play against bots 90%+, in popularity threads even trapper gets hated from some.
And obvious or confirmed swf/last second switcher won't get their match cancelled during loading screen because someone "crashed" but instead will load into the map only for the killer do instantly DCing with not penalties to be left with a maaayybe "satisfactory"/enjoyable/most probably boring in the long run killer bot.
A new form of petty will arise.
I don't expect the devs to manage to program truly satisfying bots. To be honest, I never have seen any in my other pvp games (rocket league, lol, R6S...), either ridiculously stupid and easy to beat or so hard it's no longer fun but never the sweet spot. Either to predicable and braindead or bordering on what deals like cheating (instant kills and stuff).

My idea is remove DC penalties and replace DC'd players with bots.
Those who quit for random reasons will always do so no matter what and its an unfortunate reality you cannot really prevent.
However most people want to play matches out otherwise they would just stop playing fairly fast. If killers want to tunnel off hook and play in a very unpleasant way they will find they are constantly playing against bots only as everyone will leave. This could be community self correction to the issue of playing in a very unfun way.

It got absolutely slaughtered in the PTB because a couple of killers were complaining they couldn't just facecamp anymore.
Ehm didn't they change it from limitless to limited so survivor couldn't grief their teammate on hook indefinitely by not saving them and denying them the suicide?
Edit: This is a sarcastic question since i know it was at least half the reason for the prob change.

I will not force anyone to play a game that they don't want to. If they want to leave, so be it. I never unhook someone that is attempting unhooks and not pressing the skill checks during the struggle. You know what I do? If there are 5 gens left, I find the killer and do exactly the same, because this is just a game. Who cares? My life is not gonna change because I lost in a videogame.
Caring too much about a game is beyond my comprehension if being very honest right now. I think people need to chill more. If you want to be upset, okay, but my suggestion is just to try not to. I promise it will feel better.
Then why play multiplayer games in the first place when you cont care?
I wouldn't want you in my games when you don't care enough to stick around and quit at any personal inconvenience.
And if people don't want to play a certain scenario, that they KNOW can happen in any given match, then they shouldn't queue up in the first place. Multiplayer team games aren't made for cherry picking and leaving at the slightest inconvenience.
And I call BS on your claim that there wouldn't be a butt load of ragequit disconnects when they games would be "balanced".
R6S, overwatch, rocket league, league of legends... All balanced and still riddled with ragequitters of not for their respective leaver penalties.
People want to cherry pick their matches? Then they can take the boot if they ditch.

I'm sure that'll go great. It went smashingly every other time it happened.
Yeah, the game sucks sometimes. It's not always fun. Occasionally you want out of the match.
Thing is, at the risk of sounding a bit heartless, I literally could not care less. You queued up for the match. I assume you know what video game you're playing. I assume you have some prior experience. If you're so liable to flip the board the instant something goes wrong, don't queue up. Have a little bit of personal goddamn responsibility for your decisions and take the lumps.
I'd love it if the game was improved so people didn't want to DC, but i'd also like it if those people couldn't basically ignore the DC penalty that we have for a r e a s o n .
This, this and a thousand times THIS.

The past 5 games summed up:
Game one: Camped out
Game two: Camped out
Game three: Camped out
Game four: Teammate disconnected early
Game five: Hard tunnelled.
Just a little rant, it feels horrendous to go through this game after game. I know a lot of killers will say tunnelling/camping's an effective strategy, but should it really be this effective for what it is? I play almost exclusively solo and it just feels awful. When I do play swf it feels a lot better, but then we just steamroll the killer and that isn't fun either. It's like there's absolutely no middle ground. Where has the fun in this game gone? I'm not even surprised by the amount of disconnects anymore on both sides.
Well DBD is a game playing around snowball potential for killer.
And you gave the reason for the (seemingly) average killer behaviour yourself, in your swf you steamroll over killer. The killer player doesn't know if they go against swf or solos and have to try hard from the get go to not get left behind.
It's the same with the "it's boring to only see the strongest perk on the other side all the time" discussions, people that want to win will have to anticipate the worst and prepare/play accordingly.
DBDs nonexistent matchmaking is another reason. You never know what quality of opponenslts you will get in your next trial, so people stay on edge all the time and the casuals suffer for it.
-
Well you don't "have to buy" anything, right?
Don't succumb to the FOMO.
-
It all boils down to a non existent matchmaking in this game since its release.
It would be way less of a problem if the people that want to win and equip the mentioned meta perks would only go against their own kind and chill people with off meta stuff would be matched with each other.
Of course there are always smurfer trying to circumvent the matchmaking to get matched with chill people while maintaining a hard "must win" mentality.
And the problem is of course also more complex than just a basic ass working matchmaking. It wouldn't magically solve all these problems but it would make them less harsh.
BUT we all know that DBD is way too diverse, in terms of perk-map-killer-"survivor lobby makeup" rng plus a playerbase that's too small for the mass of rng combinations, to facilitate a working matchmaking. So after seeing their attempt at a different form of matchmaking we can conclude that it's never going to happen, or at least not in the next roughly 5 years (if the game survives that long).
-
One of the many promises/ideas that got scrapped along the way.

Last try...
When one side are WILLING to waste the time of the other side, (and given the chance they do it 95% of the time) with the argument, they can just push us out.
But the same side cry when the table is turned, which is rarely happening compared to how often they do it, because it have no counterplay (except for those mentioned already).
Thats double standards, they loose 4 minutes for every 20-30 mins they wasted of other peoples time, and then they complain about their wasted time.
When i was killer i started slugging just to give back for the exit gate camping, so there is your connection.
Stop wasting the killers time and the killer might do the same, - unless that train already left the station.
That train has long lost the station is already a burning wreck on the side of a cliff.
Both sides have conditioned each other to do their worst because the "other" started it.

It’s poor sportsmanship. Too many killers wouldn’t finish their matches if they were losing. That’s not an ok thing, and it’s not a healthy way of thinking. This is not “conceding,” it’s being a poor sport and a sore loser (IMO).
Maybe give the killer an option to concede via in game menu and at least “X” amount of survivors would have to accept the concession in order for it to go through? Just spitballing an idea.
Ahahaha, sorry but just the idea of the survivor having to accept a killers surrender is hilarious to me 😂.
There is already an army of jerks playing the group role, they would have a field day when the killer would even announce to them that they don't have fun and want out.

1/4 of my killer games that I don’t get 2 kills or more. More than half of my killer games are 2-4 kills since the last rank reset. You know they need to group up at exit and tbag and blind and if they are alone at exit or just two of them left they run out asap LOL
Well that's the case for you with 3700+ hours, which isn't representative for the average killer.
But the amount of you getting slugged to death is also not representative for the average survivor.
Both instances of toxicity maybe way more or less frequent.
I can only speak from my casual killer viewpoint and say that exit gate tbagging plus waiting for the last second of egc can be rampant on eu west.
At least until last year, haven't really played since then.

unbreakable basekit would destroying slugging in the whole game, and would destroy one tactical element of the killer. In my opinion the problem of slugging people to death is not that bad to remove the whole slugging mechanic
And that's the reason why the thought of unbreakable basekit was making such an uproar on the forums and the whole idea of instant mori+ basekit ub went back to the drawing board.
And I personally can't say anything about the frequency of slugging to death since i am a friendly killer main and never slugged to death (except when they crawled into hiding and I felt bad afterwards).

I would say in 1/4 of my killer games, survivors ‘camp’ exit gates for 2 minutes. Like I said I just go around the map to hit snowmen, or you can break pallets and doors for points.
I do not camp exit gates personally. The only times I dont leave at exit is a) someone else might stilll be in chase in map b) my buddy and I are gesturing at each other to take ss but we pretty much leave immediately after the ss are done.
You seem to make these two issues related to each other so I guess since I don’t ‘camp’ exit I don’t deserve to be bled out for 4 minutes? :)
i would say I was bled to death for about 10-15 times in the past 3-6 months. Way more frequent than in the past year or so. Some of which was understandable like I crawled away from the spot to try to find hatch. The others were just malicious gameplay.
I wonder how bleeding for 4 minutes while standing over the slug is acceptable. Whats the points of having hooks in the game then?
Uff 1/4 vs 10-15 times in 3-6 MONTHS? How many games could that have been, hundreds? That would be a huge difference in frequency.
Edit: ah okay i retract my statement and noticed my mistake: 1/4 of the games WITHOUT OR ONLY ONE KILL.
But with such a vague statement the comparison is completely and entirely useless.
-

Sounds like camping
Camping with the knowledge of survivor on the direct vicinity is justified. But the abused mechanic made that also a lose/lose for the killer and a win/win for the survivor.
The easiest fix would've been a check for survivor in a certain distance waiting and the killer being in chase or not to keep the timer running in those cases and completely scrap it during egc.
But non of these extra criteria were implemented and tlsurvivor could abuse the hell out of it and killer lost all pressure from a hooked survivor. Also back then chases took way longer because survivor had even more resources on maps.

I'm not thinking of jflick. Turning 180 with demondash is the "oni flick", Bhvr tried to put in a turning hard cap for turning on oni but players found a way to get around it, aka exploiting.
Also DH is a parry. Parrying is as easy or hard as the other player makes it to be. If you're finding that you get DH'd all the time i got some bad news.
That survivor even have a "parry" aka extra healthstate ON DEMAND every 40 seconds is still a joke. This isn't dark souls.

Yeah, but a few things have changed:
- There are less loops to be chained, let alone loops that are incredibly powerful to the point of basically being an infinite
- Generator speeds have been dropped, twice.
- Generator regression has been made more basekit
- An EGC has been added
- Toolboxes have been nerfed
- Chases have been made faster
- Maps have been scaled down quite a lot
So simply stating "when the killer is in X radius for Y time and not in chase, but there are still gens, stop the timer" is a really good method to stop facecamping early on. It gives reason for the killer to go away from the hook. Back in the day, it was a lot more abusable, because a lot of killers that really relied on camping would suffer from it, and killers that didnt rely on camping didnt really care anyway. So you were just making weak killers weaker.
Right now, not a single killer really needs to rely on hard camping or tunneling to win games. There really is no reason to camp. And the moments that would need camping, are not really early in game. So for the heck of it: "while more than X gens are remaining" could be added to the mix, so that survivors can at least finish Y amount of gens so an insidious camping bubba with NOED, Dead Lock, No Way Out and Bloodwarden simply is not viable. Because the only reason its viable right now, is because he can facecamp and survivors that are not on comms cannot coordinate. You can "easily" finish all gens and escape with coordination, but its nearly impossible without.
So just to create the clause:
- has to be within 16 meters of the hook for 10 seconds or longer, with a buffer of 5 seconds(which the game considers camping too)
- has to NOT be in chase
- has to have more than 3 generators remaining
Once all 3 clauses are true, pause the timer. If any of them is false, continue the timer. And the only thing that truly suffers in viablility is basement bubba.
And while I personally would not like this solution, it is the second best solution. The best solution is simply adding a system like pings in the game, so you can convey information regardless of comms, but that solution has been ignored for 3 years.
Well, i never see any of your additional conditions in any of these "fresh takes" which were the point of my original comment.
It is nearly always the same basic ass unconditional "hook timer stop" without any specifics as original "new" argument. And THAT didn't and still won't work.

Well, you're just weird then.
I leave QP OW games all the time. I hope around Arcade games. When I played Siege me and the boys would just dick around in casual and then leave.
I guess we're weak minded idk it was fun tho
Good job missing my point about pvp games without refill, which is part of sieges normal queue for example and yes, if i were a random with you and your buddies dicking around i would hate you just as much. Just like my group hated every individual ragequitter.
A whole friend group is hardly subject of this discussion and therefore a mute point but go on. I was talking about individual ragequitter and not team wide decisions like leagues surrender majority vote.

You normally have decent takes.
I'm disappointed.
Sorry but not sorry.
I have only once ever intentionally ragequit in any of my pvp games and that was here in DBD because a group of survivor blatantly abused a fat shaming spot right into my face.
Other than that i have never rage quit neither DBD, rocket league, R6S, lol nor overwatch no matter how boosted my teammates behaved, i got spawn killed (R6S) or how much they fed the enemy team.
I always dug through a bad game because for me it has something to do with decency in those games to finish what you signed up for and anything else, outside of real life issue, is a weak mentality. Either pull through to the end or don't try at all.
I hate ragequitter as much as cheater, maybe even more since the former vastly outnumbers the latter.

You can say this but when a killer tunnels someone off hook at 5 gens can you really expect that person to want to keep playing the game with them?
We aren't captives here by force, we are all here trying to have fun and enjoy a game and if you cant play nicely or fairly with others then you cant expect them to just be your plaything and they will inevitably choose to just leave.
Maybe don't fixate so much on your "tunnel at 5gens" scenario.
I as a friendly killer had my fair share of people DCing simply upon getting downed first and faster than they liked. No tunneling, no camping and no slugging but often the instant DC. And don't get me started about times when penalties were off.
And no you arent captives but when you hit ready you say that you are ready to play this game with 4 other people knowing that you can get any of the ~30 killer on any of the however many maps. You KNOW what could come and don't get to cherry pick, neither the opponent nor the map nor how the first minute of the match goes.
IF you have a problem with that and want to leave to the detriment of the 4 other players that now can no longer play in any normal gameplay loop: DONT QUEUE UP IN THE FIRST PLACE.
That's what responsible people do.
Edit: And i am not.talking about you specifically, matriosity, but in general in any team pvp game without refill.

How do other asymmetrical multiplayer games deal with this problem?
Imo you can't "fix" the players, people will DC for any reason. The penalty system was a good start, def keep that.
Just not for the remaining players in the game. Are bots still planned to fill the gap?
They die. (The games i mean)
Afaik DBD is the ONLY asymmetrical pvp game that has managed to survive for a longer period of time.

I don't think it's a problem. Like someone said early, this is a skill based game. If you don't have the skill to be in a particular match, you leave, instead of wasting your time. People who complain about DCs are really saying that they can't win without other people to help do the heavy lifting, i.e. it's really a lack of skill on their part. Be good enough to 1v1 a killer. That's what hatch is for.
Ehm, this being a game with the concept of 1vs4, it should be basicly impossible to 1v1 the killer indefinitely, aside from a matchmaking mismatch, so your whole point is "hope the killer is worse than you and matchmaking bored them".
-
@Pulsar said:
We should stop trying to punish people and start idk, looking at WHY they DC?
Maybe people DON'T find being slugged the entire match fun? Maybe they don't like getting gen rushed? Maybe these things aren't good?
I'll show you exactly what's gonna happen.
People keep DC'ing.
Increase DC penalty. DCs drop. Playercount drops.
Hook suicides rise. People complain.
Remove the ability to self unhook. Hook suicides stop. Playercount drops.
People go AFK. People complain.
Banning people for being AFK. Playercount drops.
People start throwing themselves at the Killer and spamming rushed actions.
You see? It doesn't matter what punishment you think up if you don't address the root issue.
The root issues are a weak spine to tough through pvp games and the missing balls to simply quit a game and switch to anotherjf it isn't 100% to their liking.
Pvp games never are or were games to chill and relax.
I would never start a round of R6S, lol or valorant with the intent to chill and relax because me being absentminded and unfocused would lose my team the game.
And unlike a whole lot of people i still feel a kind of obligation towards the team when queuing up for such games. Sadly that makes me part of the minority and a dying breed.

Please play stardew valley or something if you want to relax and chill. When one person gives up just because they get downed or the killer isnt someone they wanted you ruin the game for 3 other survivors. Even for the killer in some sense.
Many killers just want to get the game over with after the first ragequitter so they just kill the remaining 3 as fast as possible, making the survivors think the killer is being sweaty. No we just want to move along. Not everyone likes farming.
When first person ragequits for whatever reason, survivors give up. If there is 5-4 gens left there is absolutely no point to continue and prolong the game. So i personally go to the killer and ask to be let out.
Play the game. Lose or win. Dont just babyrage and DC or first hook #########. If you want to relax. I really do recommend stardew valley. Excellent game and can be multiplayer as well!
Also whoever is supporting and saying survivors DCing is valid due to camping and tunneling and because or eruption... I have no words for you.. Stop supporting this bad behaviour.
You don't know how the game is going to go and if the killer is going to tunnel and camp if you babyrage quit in 15 seconds of the game! Thats just you being entitled.
Hahaha i was thinking about answering with the exact same recommendation for a relaxing game 😁

Because internet, and the fact that this game is virtually unmoderated unless you're using slurs, and the devs have an...interesting concept of toxicity.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/SOZI8MIOBMFA/toxic-mandy-jpg.jpg
For instance, last night we had a really obnoxious game against a Ghostface who hard camped from the first down and basically just accumulated slugs, letting them bleed out.
The really annoying thing - 3 people had brought flans and 1 had brought streamers. The sort of game where I, as killer, would probably go 'okay, let's try to make sure that everyone gets some BP once I control the game'.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/X3M1L3YCT48Z/20221222164506-1.jpg
People don't enjoy this sort of thing and I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of incoming players ran right into the wall of general nastiness this community often represents, and just quit.

Ugh we had a game last night like that. We all brought streamers, trying to capitalize on blood rush and the survivor bonus. Killer brought a survivor pudding. He continued to facecamp and slug. Needless to say we did not get to capitalize and the messages were similar to your SC above. :,)
This kind of behaviour is what finally broke the camel's back for me when I returned for the anniversary from my 6/7 month break.
5 anniversary cakes, i take it slow to medium like always.... Boom, game over after 1 hook, much hook denial and roughly 5 minutes.
And I am there in after-game chat Just "Why?".
No answer and I was finally done with DBD.

Urgh as if the game didn't have a long, long list of other than some first world, useless animation problems.

I already pointed out that is a false equivalence. Don't try to dress an argument up to attack it. This an asymmetrical game that is designed specifically to have a shifting power dynamic where the advantage changes, by design, from one side to another. By design there will always be points where one side has an advantage over the other. There is also never a "lone barracks in a corner of the map" scenario for the killer especially, they are never that declawed even by the worst of skill matchups due to multiple mechanics that are built into this game.
Not only that, but there is a way to forfeit the game, it just carries a penalty for being unwilling to play the rest of it out. You don't even need to pull the plug on your internet or anything that drastic, its a literal button ingame. It carries a penalty because you are taking back your agreement to play out a game to its conclusion, so your disruptiveness is punished accordingly.
Do you know why the "team" stipulation keeps coming up? Because quitting ruins the game for your team. Quitting also ruins the game for your opponent, which have consumables on both sides (addons, offerings) which get used up regardless of how the match plays out. Thats on top of the most basic of considerations that many people want to actually play matches more than they care about winning, which I honestly don't understand how or why that seems to be a foreign concept to some people.
Edit: Also since you hyperbolized adding things like tennis and air hockey, yes, even 1v1 games have disconnect penalties. Fighting games especially have been cracking down hard on them in more recent years, for the same reasons I have provided.
Oh for Christs sake, i am half through the comments and you are still comparing either 1v1 or 4v4 games to a 1v4.😩
The only unfair aspect DBD has in the regard to giving up is that survivor can circumvent the penaltyby suicide on hook.
And yes, killer should've the option to open the exit, GIVEN CERTAIN CRITERIA like X gens done vs only Y hooks or only after 5 minutes (like league with it's no surrender before minute 15).

It’s not a permanent effect cause it wouldn’t be fair for 2 people left to have 12.5% regression all game. It’s for killers that don’t want to tunnel and give them an incentive not to tunnel or camp
As if the last 2 survivor would ever try to do gens instead of trying to outstealth each other.
You would need a whole other incentive for survivor at that point, besides getting reported.

I'm honestly tired of the combinations of perks survivors can stack in this game . Stiptic, dead hard, off the record , medkits w/boons, adrenaline, and SWF teamwork make this ######### impossible for newer players just trying to have fun and not get destroyed .
Well survivor hate to see stacked anti gen perks all the time but that's what DBD has devolved to, maximum efficiency on both sides.
That's the way it goes with every major pvp game in this day and age of social media and YouTube were the best strategy crystallizes and spreads in a matter of days.

Probably something similar to what sadako got.... Oh wait. /S
-
Well what can I say other than "welcome how killer felt about till a year or two ago with dh/DS/UB/coh".
Of course it wasn't all the timeut some evenings you could play something akin to bingo and bet if it would be 8+ of the 16 perks coming from the hard meta back then. And you would be right way more often than not.

Well all new cosmetics and stuff for licensed content has to be discussed and approve by the license holder and is most probably a pain in the butt to deal with.
So i would guess it comes down to an expense vs profit consideration for Bhvr.
