It probably won't be. No other state was mentioned to be changed.

When she phase the survivor will know the direction you are going and they will see cloud of dust where you walk. Her herself is the same but survivor have more info on what you do compare to you knowing what they do. That mean i can pallet stun spirit more often and i can jump a window without guessing what you do because i have all the info i need but the spirit will need to guess if the survivor is healthy or have iron will. Lets be honest we know what they do with addon they rarely make good nerf to them and when they buff them its so minimal compare to the drawback they put. Its not all bad i like the addon that make her go back to the husk i think this addon is really cool if its powerfull this will depend on the survivor you have but its a cool addon

  • @DwarvenTavern said:

She's very strong with little effort. I'm not against that normally, but a few things feel a bit over looked. Overall I'm happy for the changes, plus it's not even official yet, no one knows if this will truly be a disaster for her

Its probably going to be a disaster she give more info to the survivor compare to what she get

Obviously, you must not actually be very good at spirit if you have this mindset which is sad compared to the fact spirit is incredibly easy to play. You CAN hear footsteps on every map, and still having good tracking through scratch marks, breathing, etc is still very strong. You are acting like her power no longer works when it still works the exact same but you can't get easy hits on survivors who have nothing to go on. You must have been playing her because you liked being bad and getting high rewards

I always suck with spirit shes not the type of killer im good with. But when i play survivor against a spirit most of the time i do really well so when i talk about her i talk when i play survivor. Right now i cant see her power give her an advantage so im sure she will suck because the survivor will have more info then her.

In high MMR if a SWF has a key no matter what happens or what you bring the game will be over if they get the gens down to 1 generator, there is nothing you can counteract that even gimmicky perks that you are forced to bring just to combat a key do nothing if they just drop the key down somewhere and wait until one of them finds hatch.

I get tons of matches with people with keys and its awful, I never had a key in nearly every match be used, but people are just getting so competitive unfun, what tends to happen is if they are down 1 person and have 1 generator left the entire team is going to be looking for the hatch, it's so awful when you finally secured the last 3 generators then notice the hatch open and you realize that you cant do anything about that.

It's the same thing with people complaining about having to bring iron will to face against the spirit, but the sad fact is what killers have to combat keys is very very easily countered itself, so in the end, keys just = free escape no matter what.

Even other means of getting survivors have lots of counters themselves so you are just going to have setback after setback and the only means of victory is if the survivors don't find hatch which is impossible not to, 3 people on comms is too easy not to fail.

Like I wouldn't be this unhappy about it if they weren't constantly bming the entire match, jumping in lockers filling my screen with notifications, and just being annoying, a coordinated SWF is only fun for the survivors themselves. Especially when you are using non meta builds I was using bbq and beast of prey because I wanted to have fun without using meta perks and beast of prey for a killer challenge.

What i like to do about key is changing my entire loadout for a slug build. Hex third seal is kinda good in RPD so i slug and never hook anyone

  • When i play survivor my match are kinda fun ofc i see a lit of blight and spirit but i like facing them.

My killer experience is awful i play well and the game are close until im put in a mmr that suck the fun out of me then i need to reduce my mmr on killer to have fun again and its a rince and repeat cycle that i hate to do but i need to do it to have fun

"now I can't confuse her when she phases to throw her off now because I can hear where she is in phase"

Wat? Knowing where she is now mean you can't confuse her? Making no sense.

She still moves at 176% base line and has no fatigue or anything when coming out to hit as well as a post phase speed boost, you don't have LOS all the time either. I think she'll still be fine. We'll have to wait and see, but it sounds fine to me.

Instead of having a fatigue she have a cooldown and if im not mistaken its 15 second

How big do you think this smoke is going to be? It says it will just be a little big of smoke where her footsteps are, that is all. She is going from a killer that gives the survivors 0 information, to a killer that gives them a little more information, while she still has loads of info to track survivors.

The smoke will look like the offering that slightly increase the fog that how i imagine it. The little info the survivor get is huge compare to the info she give. The survivor will know exactly where spirit is meanwhile the only thing she can track you with is scratch mark and they spawn everywhere around the survivor and footstep and the injure sound funny enough most survivor run iron will so you have footstep and scratch mark and its not like you can ear the footstep in every map but you can see the smoke on every map. Its a huge nerf she drop from a S tier killer to a B tier killer and B tier killer get stomp when they face survivor with the same skill has them

  • I think most people are happy about the trapper change over the perk buff.

Have you literally ever played spirit, like these comments are honestly baffling, the only one I have seen that is legitimate concern is the use of iron will now against her, but even then you still have footsteps. She still LITERALLY DOES EVERY SINGLE THING THE SAME. EVERY THING. She still has a speed boost out of phase, she still has insane movement speed, she still can approach like a stealth killer from unknown angles, she can still beat most loops, she does everything at the same level of power EXCEPT now survivors don't play a guessing game, and also get info against the spirit. They took the thing everyone knew was awful about her (the standing still mindgames and other mindgames that required 0 skill for the spirit to do at a higher reward than nurse), and made survivors have a very little thing that helps them out. The only people that don't like the change are people that liked using spirit because she was laughably easy.

I dont like spirit this wont change much for me. The change are awful regardless survivor have more info then her and she still going to be play the same way. Worst case we did not see everything yet her addon change are still hidden. Imagine playing a killer that when you use his power you cant see the survivor exept the scratch mark and the footstep meanwhile the survivor can see a cloud of dust beind them this is easy to beat.

Its a wait and see but honestly i dont think she will be good anymore its just better to play wraith at this point.

  • When 80% of the player base ask for spirit to be destroy ofc the majority of the player will be happy :)

  • @Lochnload_exe said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2514217#Comment_2514217

And that is exactly what happened, her power still works the exact same, survivors just get a little more info

Survivor get the same info as her even more while she phase. At this point just give her a speed boost XD

  • I will probably use Vigil with for the people this look like a nice combo. I just hope i wont miss BT to much.

  • That mean less viable killer and instead of having 3 good killer the game have 2, meaning less variety but you know survivor want that so its fine :)

  • Forget it, spirit is dead she wont be a top killer anymore. Spirit did not change her gameplay but survivor gain the ability to know where she is when she phase so bad survivor are still going to complain but the average and up survivor are going to destroy spirit

  • Im a simple gamer i just want old freddy with good addon. This is enough for me to make me play mainly killer again. If they camt do that i will take some nerf to the survivor meta and killer meta i need a changing meta for a game to be interesting. That why i play a lot of survivor they are so strong that i can play the perk i want and do good with no drawback

  • Honestly i did not play against pinhead exept during the first day. But what i did is i was always solving the box the second i pick it up

The counterplay doesn't ruin her, it makes her less awful to go against. That is it, all her strengths right now? Still there. Except for the mindgames that give survivors 0 options. She will still be a good killer by a long shot lmao

It will ruin her i think, dont forget its only part one so maybe her addon are going to get destroy too. Honestly its a wait and see but if she feel like ptb spirit shes going to be awful. Dont forget you will be able to tell where she is when she use her power and she wont because iron will is in the majority of the survivor loadout.

  • @GrimoireWeiss said:

Apart from the Spirit change, the entire update consists of killer buffs.

Dont forget survivor get some buff too. I know that most of perk change still wont make them good compare to the meta but its something. I personally think the trapper buff are good he still cant compete with high mmr survivor but maybe now he will stand a chance vs the average survivor.

  • @Lochnload_exe said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/281985/remember-ptb-spirit-well-now-it-will-be-even-worse

Good lmao she was extremely strong for an unfair reason. This killer now has actual counterplay while still being incredibly strong.

That counterplay like you said will ruin her and the only strong killer are going to be blight and nurse so less variety for the top mmr survivor

Who like to be slugged on the ground for 4min and unable to play? You?

No one like being slug for 4 minute but i dobt think its against the rule maybe a mod will see that and we will have an answer

I wasn't saying your post was bs. I was just making the assumption that they got tired of getting bs tags and having to check them all, hence the new rule.

True i should really read their forum rule i always expect the rule to be the same on every forum im on but i think this is the forum i saw the most ban

It is against forum rules to tag mods or devs.

Wasn't always like this, but they changed it recently. I guess they got tired of people tagging them for bs.

I saw but i dont think its BS its a really question the game dont explain and im sure the mod have more info on it instead of us stipulating. If they ban me then i will know their stand and leave the forum

  • @MandyTalk can you help us with that issue plz

  • I dont think its reportable i do that a lot when i have some RPD offering and i never got ban for that. But you can ask a mod to be sure they have info the normal community dont have

Or, instead of just going afk, you can include the first games into your learning process. Sometimes I really think that "learning a new Killer" means "Getting a 4K in the first game" for some people. (not you specifically)

In my opinion you dont learn anything when you get dominate exept the mistake you just made trying a new character. Close game are when you learn the most because you can clearly see where you could have done better. This is a matter of opinion obviously.

  • @Peanits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2511943#Comment_2511943

In the past, each Killer used the default rating when you first played them. In theory, this is great. You try a new Killer, you get to practice against easy opponents as you get used to them.

In practice, however, it's a different story. When this was tested in the past, it ended up with incredibly one-sided matches as really good Killers would get paired with new or inexperienced Survivors just because their rating started at the default. This is because most of the skills you need to do well are shared amongst different Killers. Things like time management, how to run certain tiles, zoning, etc. are more or less the same whether you're playing Wraith or Legion.

There are some exceptions, of course. Nurse, like you mentioned, plays completely differently from other Killers. The mindgames you normally use don't transfer over, and there's a mechanical skill involved with nailing your blinks on top of that, though most Killers do not have the same problem.

The shortest way to put it: Starting at default ends up with a lot of unbalanced matches as you gradually climb to the rating you're meant to be at. Starting at the average typically ends up with you in the right place within only a handful of matches. Most skills are transferable between Killers, although there are a few exceptions.

Does that mean if i want to try a new killer before i can learn him for real i need to go afk for x amount of game because that want i learn from all of that

  • A game that release at the end of july had balance patch in the first week and now the have a balance patch every 2 week.

So you are all telling me a 5 years old game dont have enough data to do a balancing patch after 2 week of mmr im sorry but at this point its call incompetence.

They already do balancing patch during the mid chapter and the main chapter. Why would they need to say again they are going to balance the game when they have no intention to change their schedule.

  • @GHOSTfaceP3 said:

How do you feel about something like this it would obviously have a cool down anywhere from 30-50 but this would be great for mind games

The idea is great but never a perk like that will see play for one reason gen are too fast. But nice idea

So killers who "lose" (a 2k with 10 hooks is not even close to being a loss) feel "robbed" but survivors should say gg when they get 4ked? lol

That my opinion and most of the time i feel robbed cause of DH or the map. Personnaly i never say gg only because its a team game and no one know what is a win.

  • @GrimoireWeiss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2510338#Comment_2510338

This happens with both sides. I almost never see a killer that lost saying gg.

Most of the time a killer who lost got destroy too. For me a gg is when the killer can get a 10 hook game because like that its a close game. But i know im the killer who just got a 10 hook game i will be mad because i see that as a lost because 2 people escape and i feel robbed.

  • With sbmm i played a lot at the start but now i cant play more then 2 match a day

Played DbD like 2 years and never saw a cheater. Then in recent weeks I run into a couple a night.

Tonight: guy gets downed, teleports to us, picks himself up, finished our gen (it was at like 50%) then flies away. Infinite flashlights the wrath, the stun was like 15 seconds long.

This is not some subtle hacking, this is in your face I am doing this and you gotta deal with it stuff. They even admitted to it in chat.

    No fear of reprisals?

They do nothing to cheater or when they do something they ban the guy for a week and they leave him alone after

Could be that, but I think balancing the game would be in their best interest in the long run. More people will tell their friends about how wonderfully designed the game is. Now it is a game that people play, but wouldn't recommend it.

I 100% agree with one of my friend wanted to come back because of the RE chapter i told him to stay away and keep his money for other game. I said that because of the balance and bug.

If the game had a better balance people would be less likely to take a break

  • I dont think balancing the game is in their priority. The reason i think that is balancing the game wont give them any money.

  • The game need the penalty if not people like me would DC when they know they lost the game or when they get a map they dont like. When they remove the penalty every game you had at least 1 or 2 DC per trial it was kinda stupid.

And some survivors want to get rid of bloodlust. Imagine how much longer it would take to catch up without it.

Its not like BL help because they start running before the chase start so you as a player the chase is on but for the game its not you need to be at 10 or 12 meter of the survivor when he run with the LoS on him so this can take 15 to 20 sec before the game see you chasing someone

MoM was badly designed. It did basically nothing against killers like Huntress or Nurse (because of a bug) since they largely hit you with their power so they could ignore the perk entirely meanwhile low tier at the time killers like Wraith and Doctor could not play around it and basically had survivors running it a free hit against them.

What i remember is the perk was broken with that setup and a lot of survivor use the setup i said. During that time i was only playing freddy because he was my favorite killer so i cant say if the perk was bug or not when other killer was playing against it.

If you’re losing to old mettle of man, the problem isn’t the perk.

Old mettle of man was strong because you could chain it into a DH then a DS into a insta heal. If you could not chain it in those perk old mettle would not have broke the game

  • That opinion is 100% biased but honestly the dev make it feel that way

  • The dev dont like killer its just that nothing the community will say can prove otherwise because for every good thing the dev did to killer the survivor had 2 better thing done to them before that

  • @WishIcouldmain said:

This is the most with time thing I’ve ever seen. I was scrolling through comments of old Blight release videos and here is a quote. “I am astounded by this design like hey, remember that COOL Halloween lore and #########? Hey look here’s a killer that’s directly based off of it. The power? Oh it’s a faster legion that bumps into walls and can’t hit unless he bumps into them and the reward for this painful power of bumping into clunky hitboxes and somehow making use of the strange speed? Yeah a single health state. This killer is disappointing in so many levels”. Or “This looks bad. The design is so cool and they had so many ways to give him a cool power but they went with “rush”? This just doesn’t look powerful or fun”.

Now Blight is a community favorite killer who is 99.9% of the time in S tier. And a power said to be very enjoyable most of the time. With a few nerf posts here and there. There were small changes here and there, but nothing that really changed the gameplay of Blight. I feel this could happen with Pinhead also. Or with future killers. That’s why patience is needed

You need to remember when blight got release he was sliding on structure the colision was bad and the FoV was awful. The dev fix all that so now he took his spot as one of the top 3 killer in dbd personally i still think he required more skill then nurse but the reward is less then nurse.

Yeah yeah, just like Breakout, For the People, Soul Guard and Power Struggle were going to be OP and make killers quit the game. I know, it's absurd that survivors get to have perks.

The perk you name are strong the issue is they are too weak compare to the survivor meta. Boon totem if they work like a hex need to be strong so high risk high reward is the issue because killer dont have the time to go out of their way for that.

You are right we dont have any info on that yet. Still killer are scare of that because they know from past experience its going to be a strong perk. It may not break the meta but most of them are sure its going to be strong

  • Depend on the time of the day during the day i never feel like i need a certain perk during the night i feel like i need 2 or 3 gen regressing perk that for killer

For survivor i never felt like i need certain perk unless its night time then i feel like i need dead hard the rest i dont care what it is.

It's strange but I really don't see Spirit very much since the buff to Iron Will. I don't even use Iron Will that much anymore either. Were they really crutching off of Stridor?

Its the fact that a survivor with iron will is sure the escape the chase against her. At that point yeah we can say its a crutch but at the same time how can you find someone who do no sound and you cant see the blood plus its not like scratch mark will help you more often they will give you bad information plus they can just walk away.

Any killer that got a 50/50 chance to hit someone with there power is not a good power in spirit case its only because of iron will whitout iron will i think spirit could still be one of the top killer but not now shes A tier for sure but in my opinion Blight is better and for some people huntress or oni are better now
