  • It doesn't feel like I'm getting teammates of equal skill. My swf teammate and I keep being the only ones going for saves or working on gens. Our random teammates if they get found in their hiding spots are downed after a short chase, after they are saved/healed they go back to hiding. My swf teammate keep being left on hook by randoms if one of us has already died or is in a chase. If one of us dies we spectate the other teammates and see they just aren't doing anything while one of us atleast tries to get gens done. Before SBMM bad teammates like this happened occasionally but now it's most matches.

If they want to keep SBMM they need to include actual skills into it, not just escapes/death. If I have multiple safe unhooks, complete gens, and have good chases I should not be matched with teammates that spend the match hiding and avoiding doing anything but locker hopping.

  • Twins. They are designed for a playstyle that is highly complained about. Devs always say "if killer is camping focus on gens to punish them" but then release a killer that can both camp and chase survivors off gens.

Also, they suck for points when playing against them which is what annoys me more than anything. Since chases with Victor don't actually count as a chase you can loop him for 5 gens but get 0 points because game doesn't think you were doing anything even if you were dodging hits from him for 5 minutes and distracting the killer in a chase. If you're unlucky to be downed you are then slugged and then camped for no points. Survivor sucks for getting BP and then they release a killer that lessens ability for survivors to get BP. Playing a match against them just feels like a complete waste of time with the low BP scores.

  • If not downed/on hook I go check the finished gens, most times it's a hex totem the randoms decided not to cleanse even though it was right next to them.

If I'm on second hook I'll let myself die so teammates have little longer before mori activates.

The unhook freeze is on the patch notes to be fixed, and balanced landing is also so I hope that affects sprint burst and lithe as well.

Ive got some clips I can upload later related to perks and killer powers.

As survivor when blast mine triggers I freeze, when Demogorgon enters portal I freeze as survivor; and playing as freddy when a survivor drops a dream pallet it freezes me.

I noticed though that even the unhook freeze doesn’t happen all the time and some of the clips have an unhook that doesn’t freeze followed by a killer power freeze.

Don’t think they can be ignored as killer performance problems any more as they also freeze me when playing as survivor against a lot of killers, PH and Nemesis still cause freezes when I’m no where near the killer and seems to be related to the tentacle/dragging sword.

I use Flashbang and Blastmine. Before last update the freezes from both were pretty terrible for me as survivor. I wouldn't even be near the gen I put Blastmine on and I would freeze pretty bad when it went off - I think part of it was the notification bubble I received. The freezes from them now seem to be more related to the map I'm on - if it's a map that increases performance issues like Coldwind, Ormond or RPD the freezes are rough and can make match unplayable. On map that I don't experience increased performance issues like Haddonfield the freezes don't feel as harsh - still annoying and can totally screw me or the killer but not as much as on the maps where performance is just terrible.

Huntress and Wraith have been the worst for me lately when it comes to performance issues. I can feel myself just giving up because I don't want to deal with a stuttering match, especially on maps where the performance issues are the worst. My swf teammate and I just go wait under a hook instead of dealing with the freezes everytime a Huntress winds up/throws a hatchet or Wraith goes in/out of cloak. Had a Huntress on Ormond running addon that basically was Sloppy effect on top of running Sloppy - I just killed self on first hook because it felt like slide show from the freezes, I just didn't have the patience.

Removing Pinhead's chains is mapped to the action button on console, so it's the same button as throwing and vaulting pallets. This causes the survivor to vault directly into Pinhead when trying to remove chains at a loop.

You can change the action button (pallet, vault) to a different button from interaction (Pinhead box, heal, gens, etc) in the controller settings in game. It's dumb action and interaction are default the same but it is possible to change. I'm on ps4 and I did it awhile ago after one too many pallets dropped when trying to heal a downed teammate.

  • I'm going to guess it will be sometime during the week before mid-chapter release/Halloween. That gives them time to come up with answers and run them through pr department. Also will probably have "sneak peak" of Halloween event.

They're misleading and there is 100 posts about "unfair" matchmaking when ash killer plays against iri survivors etc. There is no point of showing them. better replace them with character portrait

Replacing with character portrait is a really good idea.

  • Evil Dead mostly because I'm a huge Evil Dead fan. Also helps it will be available on console, others as far as I know are PC only with no current plans for a console release - just the generic "we hope one day..." response.

If you see this, its a team. and you should be ready for 4 escapes. The chance of this happening by random is 24 factorial which is 1 in 304888344611713860501504000000. No chance at all really.

I have had so many matches where I'm first in lobby, second one enters and changes character/cosmetics to match. 3rd and 4th do the same. All solos yet dressed the same. I've had matches playing with 1 other and the 2 randoms choose to match one of us. I've last second switched my character just to avoid it multiple times. It happens more often than you think.

I run Bt, Spine chills, Kindred and SB. It's not meta and it gives me very comfortable gameplay. I think those who rely on 4 meta perk builds just refuse to get better and are meta slaves.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2539961#Comment_2539961

Ds, Dh, Bt + boon perks. Meta won't go anywhere.

I was being facetious, I agree meta won't change. Mostly amused that there's been posts for days that both boon totems will get equipped by all survivors and then here's a post asking why survivors only play 4 perks.

  • Aren't survivors supposed to be ditching atleast 2 of those meta perks for the boon totem perks when the mid-chapter comes out? I keep seeing people say that's going to happen so just wait a couple weeks and you won't have to deal with 2 of those perks.

  • I'm on ps4. I've been getting alot of I stun the killer but I also get hit and we switch sides we're on when pallet is down. This started fairly recently after one of the pallet stun updates. I think between hit validation and pallet stun changes some of the pallet stuns/hits are feeling a bit wonky lately.

  • Thank you for taking the time to make this post! 😁

  • SBMM has basically created the same issues we had around the anniversary event. Survivors focus on gens to escape more because as far as we know only escaping matters for Survivor mmr - just like how survivors had to escape for crown. Because survivors are trying harder to get gens done killers start playing harder to stop them. This then becomes vicious circle of both sides playing more sweaty matches, which then makes bad matches feel much worse. So you're not playing against swf each time - just stuck in the crappy loop of sweaty matches from all players with (unfortunately) no way out except to stop caring about winning.

Best thing to do is take a break, most times that helps. If you don't want to take a break then maybe start giving yourself different goals to "win" in a match or meme around. Survivors getting gens done quickly? Open one door and prevent them from opening the other. Can run NOED because they probably aren't doing totems and first door will make them think you're running Blood Warden. Survivors will legit kill themselves during end game trying to open a door you won't let them open. On a map like Haddonfield? Protect the Myers house. Don't let anyone work on the Myers gen or get the item from the basement. Again, they will kill themselves trying to do both of those. Play as GF and play hide and seek - works best on maps where you can be on second floor of building. Go into stealth mode, randomly mark players and watch them scatter worried about being downed, if they find you go to a new spot and repeat. Be basement Bubba and protect your chest. Any other main building just protect the gen there, no one can finish it - survivors will die trying to do the one gen you decided they can't work on. 😂 Overall just find other ways to make the game fun for you if you want to keep playing.

  • When I played solo I stopped using Kindred pretty quick. While the information I got from it was nice, when I was on the hook it seemed to screw me over. If the killer had obviously left me and was chasing someone else I would be left on the hook until struggle or die on first hook. Sometimes I would even see the chased survivor lead the killer to the other survivors because they could see their auras, that was awesome. If the killer was camping my teammates would hang out around the hook, unsafe unhook without BT, I would be downed and hooked again for same thing to happen while struggling. My random teammates made better hook plays when I stopped running Kindred.

  • I think the other designs were probably just random. In 2016 when the masks came out the only original DBD killers were Trapper, Billy, Wraith, Nurse, and Hag.

  • Yup. I didn't have Felix or Elodie when they did the codes for Xmas sweaters last year or when Felix had outfit in a rift before Anniversary event. When I bought them with shards I had the previously unlocked cosmetics on them.

Some time there will be "exclusives" like the rift for example - they're basically exclusive for a short period only. The people who obtained the code last year, have had exclusive use of it for a year. We never stated that these wouldn't be released in another way at any point, nor did we say they were not going to become available again, the decision was made after the popularity of the code. Players who obtained it back then have had exclusive use of it for a year, we can't guarantee this will happen with every exclusive/limited item.

Can it stop being a killer exclusive so my survivors can wear it? 😁

I've been running into "subtle" cheaters. Yesterday I went up against a doctor who was just holy ######### fast. Like I'd hear his terror radius and run to the next tile and he was just there. Hit me, I'd use the burst of speed to get the hell out, proc lithe too and turned the corner he was just there. I have played enough games to know that he was "subtle" cheating by being faster than he should have been. Went to his profile and saw several people comment the same thing I witnessed. One of those was from last year.

Been seeing survivors who I would unhook, refuse to get healed and just work on a gen, then get fully healed while working on it. No anti hemmoragic agent either.

Had a game where 3 of my hexes were destroyed within 4 seconds of each other. One survivor was on hook, another was being chased.

I watched a dude dead hard then sprint burst away. He only had dead hard on.

These have all been within the past two weeks.

I've had so many killers that I'll see moving around the map way faster than they should be yet have nothing equipped that would cause speed boost in any way - not even like Agitation equipped and its just bugged giving them speed boost not carrying someone. It's especially noticeable when you play like 2 Bubbas back to back and see one moving faster than the other.

Few that without any aura reading somehow immediately find me or teammate in a spot that they have 0 reason to check at start of match. Like you think maybe Lethal Pursuer or Whispers but nope.

Survivor teammates that are usually fairly loud when injured but for some reason they are barely making a sound while everyone else is normal injured sound level. No IW or other perk that would decrease sounds of pain. Survivors that walk at Fixated speed without having Fixated equipped.

The codes are not going to be limited use from what I know, but they will be limited in time.

I'm glad to hear, limited time feels like fair way to deal out codes for exclusive items like DwightCrow - especially since it seems like you generally have few days atleast to use the code when limited time codes have been given out. The limited use codes just feel unfair and put sour note on what should be fun event.

  • As someone that managed to get a DwightCrow code last year I'm glad they're making it available for everyone. I hope they don't do the limited use codes like that again, it's not fun and it's a crappy way of making a cosmetic exclusive. It also seems dumb to encourage people to not play the game but instead watch a streamer play the game.

  • @Rey_512 said:

I run into way more survivor cheaters than killer cheaters, anyone know why that is? Killer cheats harder to come by?

4 survivors v 1 killer - you just have higher odds because there are more survivors.

  • I've made multiple posts in feedback asking them to include cage rescues in challenges since PH came out because his cages make completing tome challenges take that extra frustrating bit longer. The "unhook someone that unhooked you earlier in the match" is already annoying enough, then throw in the cages and it makes it even more frustrating. All they have to do is change it to safely rescue someone so both hooks and cages count.

  • Was playing 3swf. Random got hooked and face camped by Billy so we just focused on gens. None of us ran BT so attempting to save just wasn't worth it. When random died I got a friend request while still in match, they used loophole on ps to send me message through friend request since I had my messages turned off. Was just simple "expletive coward." My favorite part is that my two swf teammates didn't get anything and they have their messages turned on. Apparently it was just my fault they weren't unhooked and they were so mad that they used ps work around to send me angry message. 😂

I play solo. It didn't start happening until recently.

If I played solo for a day I didn't notice it happening. Maybe it's desync issues that have gotten worse? Like as swf more likely to run into it but now whatever was causing it is happening to solo too?

  • Mandy, do you know if there's anything being done for ps4 fans going crazy in menus, lobbies and archives? They sound wicked bad and it's pretty worrying.

  • @Shaped said:

Anyone else gets unresponsive inputs after the match is over? It doesn't freeze but whatever I press doesn't work.

So I am forced to close the game and start again because I can't continue to the menu.

It happens a lot but not always. Most of the time tho.

When I'm playing with my swf teammate after a match he'll be kicked from my lobby and we both need to restart the game to play together again. I won't be able to back out to the main menus or invite him in until I restart the game.

It's been a thing for me for like a year. There's no consistency to it. Sometimes it's after a couple matches, others it's after a dozen. Sometimes it's after we both escape, others one of us dies and was spectating.

Exept if every totem is a boon you cant get hit by noed so cleanse 1 and get 4 insta heal around the map

How would there be 4? I'm not changing up my load out for boon totems. My swf teammate has no plans to change up their load out for boon totems. Then it's relying on the other 2 teammates to maybe be running them - which I don't see happening because what perks in meta loadout will survivors be willing to give up for boon totems in live game?

Then there's the killers ability to either snuff out the boon totems or kill the survivors before the last gen finishes which would return the totem back to dull and allow NOED to activate. I'd rather not run into NOED at end.

  • At time I was going by this but then it later was clarified it would need to be dull before the gens finished.

Does NOED not activate the second you... um... Dispell the boon totem? Or do you need to time it to make sure one totem is free before the last gen pops?

If you snuff a a blessed totem or kill the survivor that blessed totem (which will automatically snuff it) before the last gen pops it will be a dull totem when doors are powered and will become NOED.

  • I'm not changing my build but I'll be cleansing any dull/hex totems I see like I always do. I'm not changing my play style because someone might be running a boon totem, increased healing speed in a corner isn't going to help me if I'm instadowned by NOED.

  • Green keys can be found in chests and unless you are running Ace in the hole they do not include add-ons even though their only use comes from equipping them with add-ons. Devs intended this otherwise they would have given them some base ability.

Medkits, which you are more likely to be able to use, are a common item making them appear more often in chests. Keys, which you would not use as often, are rare so they do not appear as often in chests. Would you rather keys were made common and you have higher odds to pull one out over a medkit?

I have had many matches where a teammate brought in a green key with aura reading add-ons or used the aura reading add-ons on a purple/pink key. I've seen people say that thanks to the nerf they'll be more willing to bring a green key with add-ons since they'll be less likely now to be tunneled out if killer sees a key in the lobby. This comes down to a play style choice - while you wouldn't use a key for aura reading there are plenty who will to save a perk slot for something else.

  • Killers setting up their own totems would help survivors.

Most times I find a hex totem at start of match it's not because I started ontop it, it's because I see the killer go and check on it first thing. If killers were to set up their own hex totems all survivors would have to do is pay attention to where the killer goes at start of match. Killer hanging out away from gens? Probably placing their hex totem over there.

Then there's the predictable hex totem placement by killers - their go to will be the hidden totem spots. If survivors happen to miss the killer setting up the totem they'll have a pretty easy guess where to check.

Aside from survivors having easier time finding/cleansing totems thanks to just paying attention to the killer this would also waste killers time. All you need is 1 survivor to pay attention to what killer is doing, rest can work on gens without worry of being interrupted.

  • If you don't already have BBQ you get that from Leatherface.

If you are regularly going entire matches without being hit. You should create a youtube channel because you have to teach your skill to the community. Also read my initial post, I outline the 2 specific scenarios that the key can be used but it is no guaranteed. I already addressed the points you made.

I didn't say I'm regularly not getting hit. I said you can go through a match where you don't get hit or players are in broken state. These matches do happen enough with camping killers or vs Plague.

Having an additional option to escape the match when you're the last survivor, especially if door RNG is terrible, makes the key useful. Better to have the key and not need it than not have the key at all. Then on top of that you can equip add-ons that give you aura reading through out the match, adding to the usefulness of keys outside just being used for the hatch.

  • @Icaurs said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2530215#Comment_2530215

Maps have a purpose of revealing generators, totems, traps ect, useful.

Medkits have the purpose of healing yourslef. Useful.

Even toolboxes can be used to slightly increase gen speed.

Flashlights blind, even if your bad it still has a use

My issue is you can go entire match with a key and never even get a chance to use it, without any addons. No other item is like this. That is my my problem.

As I said, you could go an entire match not needing to heal which would make the medkit useless. Medkit is only useful if you or a teammate are injured and not in broken state.

A purple/pink key without add-ons you still have a chance to open the hatch if it is closed which allows you to avoid the doors, this is very useful if they spawned close by or you have a killer that can cover distance quickly. Before the nerf you were never guaranteed to be able to use the key during the match - you could've died before the hatch was even revealed.

  • @Icaurs said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2530154#Comment_2530154

Kindred Either your teammates are on the hook revealing your entire team to you and the killers aura or nobody is on the hook in which case you don't really need to know where they are. While I believe the key may have addons for aura reading that is only secondary to the real benefit of opening hatch. Also as I said, there is no guarantee the key will have an addon for aura reading. If the key was intended for this by the devs the keys would now have addons by default in chests. This is clearly not the devs intention. If you get a pink key from a chest with no addons, you may never get to use the item thorughout an entire match. This is somehow still 'ultra rare." My point is this idea is clearly rushed and now keys serve no real purpose during a match.

There are definitely times to see killer and teammates auras outside of a player being on a hook. Being in chase with a killer and finding teammates to heal/work on gens are just two examples.

None of the items have add-ons when pulled from a chest unless you have ace in the hole equipped. Green maps without add-ons is only useful to find gens, if you know where all the gens are it has no purpose like a green key. If you don't get injured or you're playing against the plague you may not be able to use your item just like you wouldn't be able to use the purple/pink key for hatch - but atleast the add-ons make the key useful outside the hatch while the medkit add ons do not make it useful outside healing.

  • @MrBuffalo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2527724#Comment_2527724

You say Kindred is situational but it is with out a doubt the most run solo survivor perk. That is not "Situational" that is meta also its not just used for tracking the killer its also used to track your team which is the better trade off.

Okay good you have a friend to help you heal that doesnt make medkits worthless? Same with flashlights just cause you arent good with them doesnt mean the item is bad. (im just assuming you think medkits and flashlights arent good cause of your statement so do correct me if this was not your meaning)

Yes all survivors have perks you can run instead of items yet a very little amount of the players use the item over the perk, cause the perk is almost better in every way than the item. If key's aura reading was actually useful people would use green keys more but they don't they use purple and pink for hatch and nothing more. To add more to this there are only 4 add-on's for aura reading for keys and 2 of them are basically the same one just increases the range of it and only 1 tracks the killer.

You can only use Kindred when someone is hooked, that is the only time you can use that perk. Just because many run it doesn't change you only get use from it during a specific situation in the match. You can't track your teammates or the killer outside of someone being hooked and the killer near the hook.

I never said medkits and flashlights are bad. You said "you're telling me that you would bring a green key with add-ons to track your team mates instead of Kindred and an actual useful item like a medkit or if you're confident enough a flashlight." and I responded with they are just not useful for me because of my play style.

As for "perks are better in every way than the item" - You heal much faster with a medkit (especially with add ons) than you do using the perk Self Care. Sabotage with a toolkit is better than the perk simply because the perk has a cool down. Using pink map to find totems is better than waiting for gens to finish with Detectives Hunch or running around waiting for a sound to go off with Small Game. Using a key with add-ons to see killer/survivors at anytime is better than waiting for someone to be hooked (Kindred), someone to be injured (Empathy), or killer to kick something (Alert). Like I said before, you use an item to free up perk slot for something else more useful based on your playstyle. All the items can be useful depending on your playstyle and the perks you could run aren't necessarily better than the item/addons you could use instead.

Many times when I saw someone bring in a purple/pink key they had aura reading add-ons attached. Until recently you could use all the charges on a key with it's aura reading ability and then use it to escape. Alot avoided running green keys with add ons not because they weren't useful but because killers would use Franklin's or tunnel them out if they saw a key in the lobby. The keys aura add ons are extremely useful and now keys are nerfed killers will be less inclined to tunnel out survivors they see with a key so more will run the green keys with aura add-ons - if they ran an aura perk they can now free up that spot to run something else.
