Any dull or Hex totem I come across I'm still going to cleanse, I'm not getting hit with NOED because someone brought a totem perk. If a survivor is running a boon totem a killer just needs to go over and snuff it just before the last gen pops (or they close hatch) so it's dull when exits are powered and can become NOED. Since survivors can't destroy a blessed totem a killer could potentially choose their NOED location so even more reason for me to cleanse all the totems.
-
People are too busy freaking out over survivor perks that won't make it into the meta once patch goes live to care about the key change.
I did see a few complaints that keys needed more of a nerf. One about how it's not fair that survivors can 99% the hatch to then hop into it in killers face. π
-
I just want to know who all these survivors are that will spend time blessing totems because they must be ones that are willing to cleanse dull totems to prevent NOED, right? Why don't I get these survivors as teammates to help me cleanse totems and prevent NOED???
-
Oni and Doctor are my guess.

As you've found out, it was saved for the patch notes.
With all the posts about PTB, I was hoping you hadn't missed that update in the Patch Notes...I sincerely hope when this patch goes live this will help out a great deal, from what I can understand these are the issues that affect consoles the most.
I'm definitely happy to see not only performance fixes included in the patch notes but also which ones are included. It's definitely good to finally see fixes for ones that have been triggers and cause of frustration for quite awhile now.
-
Mandy had said in another post you could bless a different totem, it'd automatically remove blessing from first totem and move it to new totem.
-
Totems only have so many spawn locations on a map, it would put more out in the open which would increase chance of killers hex totems spawning in the open.
Survivors already complain finding/cleansing 5 totems to prevent NOED is too time consuming, adding more would just increase the nerf NOED posts.

I don't think it's personal. I can't even imagine players who do something like * Oh this player killed me, i will write down his name and mb someday i avenge myself*. It's like u met bunch of trolls.
I've seen FB groups a crazy amount of people that keep lists of players they didn't like in previous matches. I couldn't believe it. There are also name and shame groups where people exchange their lists. It's sad.
I'd love to be able to have my name hidden until end of match. Too many times I have run into same killer in back to back matches, or multiple times in same game session, where they camp/tunnel me out if I escaped the previous match. They play normal in first match but then throw second just to make sure I don't escape again. I don't do anything toxic - just do gens, cleanse totems, unhook teammates, and try to avoid getting hit in a chase.

The entire team can only have one boon totem at maximum. All Boon perks will be attached to one totem. So at most, it will be 28 meters of worse tracking.
I thought it was each survivor can only have one boon totem not the team can only have 1. Be weird for 2 random survivors going in for Adept starting across the map and only one gets to bless a totem.
-
This survivor you can atleast get with shards and not spend real money.

I can't wait for the back to back "x is op" and "x is weak" posts π

I was wondering same thing. Can hex totems please explodes when we cleanse them?

So you're telling me that you would bring a green key with add-ons to track your team mates instead of Kindred and an actual useful item like a medkit or if you're confident enough a flashlight. There is a reason running green keys are a meme their aura add-ons are a joke. Sorry you cannot say keys have a use out side of opening the hatch cause they really don't. Joke of an item that went from broken to borderline useless.
You only mentioned map aura reading which is why I responded that they are different when it comes to the aura reading and depending on your playstyle one is more useful than the other.
As for medkits or flashlights. I'm terrible with flashlights, so much so that if I find them in a chest I will give them to a random teammate I see without an item. I play swf with 1 other so getting a teammate to heal me really isn't difficult, I also have no problem playing injured.
While Kindred is a great perk it is situational - someone has to be hooked for it to activate and killer needs to be near the hook to see their aura. With aura reading on key I could see the auras whenever I want without the conditions required with a perk.
All the survivor items have a perk you could run instead, just because there is a perk option it doesn't make that item useless. You either use a perk slot for what the item can do or you bring the item and use perk slot for something else.
-
It seems weird they have to change the names. I thought the names were already pretty generic.
-
They went from one 90s soda name to another. π
-
Finally a Sloppy and exposed status fix?

Yes please. Here are some baby otter pics as thank you for taking the time to make post. π

That would make sense if we didnt already have maps which do the aura reading WAY better than key's aura reading. And not just that if u find keys in chest it has no add-on's so what is the point? Im glad the keys got nerfed but like everything else, BHVR don't plan ahead on how this item will be used in the future.
Key add ons show you different auras than maps, they let you see the killers aura and teammates auras. That's like comparing Bond or OoO with Detectives Hunch - the only thing they have in common is aura reading, how useful they are depends on your playstyle. Do you need help finding gens/totems or would you rather know where teammates/killer are?
If you find a green map it will only show you gens, that's only useful if you are someone that has trouble finding gens otherwise it's about as useful as a key without add ons.

#########? How hard is it for people to find lockers? Conveniently, they're right in view of most generators. Also, fun fact for people who don't seem to realize it: You can synchronize your recharge time with time spend in a locker avoiding BBQ, hiding from a nearby killer, or using other locker perks.
3 recharges of 99%, 66%, and 33% is definitely going to be more powerful than a single charge of 50% even if you don't know how to effectively use lockers.
I run Flashbang, locker placement is oddly inconvenient to alot of gens. There's handful of clumps of lockers but they aren't as widely spread out/available around the map as you think. When you aren't running a locker perk they seem like they're everywhere but when you start running one they are kind of a pain to find. π
-
I'm mostly indifferent. Some stuff seems cool, most stuff people are freaking out about being OP or too big of a nerf seem to be an overreaction. I'm mostly concerned about performance issues when patch goes live.

Because u don't be to see killer aura when every second lobby is swf. But yeah, it broken too.
Biggest OoO complaint before they changed it was how powerful it was in swf not solo. π
-
Survivors won't take 14 seconds to cleanse a totem beause it "takes too long" but they'll hide in a locker for 12-14 seconds to refill a toolkit? I don't see many willing to use a perk slot for this.
I also love that everyone is focusing on toolkits but not keys with killer aura reading add-on. I'd think having survivors be able to see killer through out match would be more of a concern since OoO was such a hot topic before it was changed.

Who the hell said that about Power Struggle?
Do forum search for "Power Struggle OP" and you'll get some posts in feedback section from 2020. I remember seeing the posts of people freaking out in feedback and PTB sections before that DLC went live and thought it was hilarious. π

What do u think if there were revive cooldown on hex totems. Like if your Ruin was destroyed it reappears on free dull totem after 1 min.
That'd just be old Undying with a cooldown, may as well just bring old Undying back at that point.
-
I'm all for letting killers set their own hex totem spots, will help me find them easier. Most times I find a hidden hex totem at start of match it's thanks to a killer checking on their totem first thing.
If killers were to set their own hexes all survivors would have to do is pay attention to where the killer goes. Killer goes to area not near a gen? Odds are that's where they are placing their hex totem.
Killers will probably also end out only going to the hidden totem spots so survivors will just head straight for those spots and either destroy the Hex after the killer places it or destroy the hidden dull totem before the killer even gets there. If they destroy the hidden totem before it's hexed then killer will be left with totem out in the open for their hex - so not only is it still in the open where it could've been anyway with rng but now killer has wasted time they could've spent applying pressure setting up a hex totem.

it's an iridescent... it better be 4 free traps.
I'm guessing it's not and automatically using all your traps is downside they decided to give the add-on. It's like Trappers new purple add-on, you start with all the traps but you can't pick up the traps after you set them.
-
It's like every time we get a new survivor, people freak out about the perks during PTB thinking they'll be this OP game changer but then once it actually goes live the only time you see those perks really are when the player is going for Adept.
Counterforce was the OP perk for RE chapter. It was supposed to destroy hexes and eliminate NOED from ever activating.
Power Struggle was going to be more OP than DS, EVERYONE was going to run it and killers would never get survivors to a hook.
Any Means Necessary was going to have killers spend match just getting stunned over and over by same pallets every match.
Now boon totems are apparently destroying hex totems like Counterforce was supposed to and are OP even though we currently have very little information on them. Apparently survivors who currently think NOED should be nerfed because finding and cleansing 5 totems during the match takes too much time will now be running a perk that requires them to spend that same time finding and blessing totems that can be quickly snuffed out by the killer.
-
Keys have aura reading add-ons that you can use instead of using a perk slot.
-
If you just look a little bit to the side Spine Chill won't alert the survivor.
-
In 5th Anniversary video when they announced boon totems they said you would need to be near them so I think you're right. This would also make sense why survivors can change which totem is blessed. Needing to bless nearby totem, and multiple times at that to use it through out match, I really doubt these are a perk we'll see much of.
-
@Mandy said:

Survivors can bless a Hex Totem removing the Hex.
It takes the same length of time as cleansing the totem does (or a little bit longer).
If killer snuffs that totem does it go back to hex or dull?
-
From comments I've seen by Mandy to bless a boon totem it will take the same amount of time as it takes to cleanse a totem and Killers will be able to snuff a totem quickly. I imagine it would be similar to grabbing the crowns during event, killer quickly swipes while survivor stands there for few seconds. Currently survivors don't cleanse dull totems for NOED because "it takes too long" so I doubt they'll spend time re-blessing totems.

Omg thatβs hilarious!! Itβd be nice if the devs made the green key in lobby look different than the pink and purple ones.
I'm hoping that with the key nerf killers no longer feel a need to tunnel out someone bringing one so look won't matter. Not only because of green keys but also so I can get those stupid "escape with ultra rare item" challenges done faster without being tunneled out for bringing a key or relying on plunderers to hopefully get me an iri item.
-
They're holding back the Spirit kicking up dust because killers complained.

I was in a lobby once with a green key and a Steve brought a hatch offering assuming it was a pink/purple key. Once the hatch spawned he was trying to signal me to open hatch. So I had to set my key down to show him it was a green key. He died and I escaped, kinda felt bad for him.
There was a time someone brought a green key without add ons in one of my lobbies. My swf teammate and I had found the hatch so I brought the key person that they killer had been trying to tunnel out over to the hatch. They dropped it to show it was only green key and I was just like why would you bring something that makes the killer go after you? π

Their boon totem could change to NOED if they leave before me or die on hook while I'm trying to save them during end game. I need to cleanse all the totems to protect myself. π

@Mandy said:

Yes, if a survivor dies, escapes (or disconnects), the totem is returned to a dull totem - so the blessing goes with the survivor.
So if killer is running NOED that didn't activate thanks to a survivors boon totem but then that survivor leaves does that mean that totem could potentially turn into NOED? π²
-
@Mandy said:
If the killer snuffs out the Boon Totem, it turns the totem back into a dull one. The Survivor can then choose to rebless that totem or another one.
Also, whilst they have a Boon Totem blessed, if they choose to bless another one - then they can, and it will remove from the original blessed totem onto the new one.
(edited as I keep writing Boom instead of boon!)
If a survivor dies while they have a boon totem up does it automatically turn back into a dull or would the killer still need to snuff it out?
-
PTB is this week, patches are usually between 2-4 weeks after the PTB ends. Rift ends on the 13th so I'd guess new rift starts following week and based on previous rifts/patches they do patch on Tuesday and rift on Wednesday so my guess is mid-chapter patch will probably Oct 19.
*edit to add - they won't give us an "official" date until few days before.
-
Two part dev update, nothing on any performance fixes they have planned for mid-chapter. Based on amount of changes I'm a bit worried about the impact to performance. The Mindbreaker change adding additional status effects concerns me quite a bit.
-
Hopefully now I can bring a stupid key to get archive challenges done that require "escape with ultra rare item" without killer tunneling me out or using Franklin's.
-
The hatch will only spawn if one survivor is left. For that survivor to use the key you would have had to already close the hatch which would start EGC. At that point it's the same as a survivor waiting in an open exit gate as time runs down. If you hear noise over by the hatch you closed treat it the same as a survivor making noise by the open exit gate - ignore them.
