I noticed it happening more when I had crossplay on. Turned it off and just usual random bugs.
-
I noticed that happening a ton when I played crossplay, it was so annoying. Was happy turning it off and going back to only ps4 people, gens actually getting completed while I'm in a chase is good feeling. π
-
"Don't do dull totems just memorize where you see them so you don't waste time away from gens, if noed is activated you can go cleanse totem then." Great, except if YOU are the one that is downed by NOED and you have randoms that don't know where that totem is so are just going to leave you on first hook. Just take few seconds to cleanse the dull totems, get some extra BP from it, and ruin a killers end game plan.
"Don't cleanse lit totems until you know what hex it is, could be Haunted Grounds." Could also be Devour Hope that once killer has unlimited insta down can quickly have game become a 4k since they'll also know the area all the survivors will be heading. Haunted Grounds only lasts a minute and rarely do I see the killer down a healthy survivor while it's activated, usually if they down a survivor it's one that was already injured and in a chase. Pretty sure this was started by killer mains so their hex totems would last longer.
"Don't use stealth" If you are terrible at chases but awesome at gens and having safe unhooks then play stealth. If your stealth is locker hopping/hiding in corner of map then you're just useless. As long as you are helping the team you should play to your strengths.
"If you're last survivor don't wiggle and the killer will give you the hatch." Lies. Started by killer mains so last survivor won't wiggle free and keep them from 4k. π
-
I usually cleanse the totems in that area as I make my way to the other gens. Most times I see the killer checking the blocked gens first thing to see if anyone is by them rather than wait for survivors to head to the unblocked gens.

Consoles not being optimized and having crap FPS compared to PC. The response from those outside console is "well just turn off crossplay" instead of "they should optimize to have it be fair playing against eachother."

Well now that 12 Month Gold has been discontinued, I'm really paying $120 a year plus the $30 price tag since DBD is an online-only game. But that's not the point. You gave the Game Pass and PS+ as an example of the game itself being free. With PS+, the game was offered for free on top of the $60/year price tag that you pay to access online, which is a necessity to even play the game due to its online nature. I'm saying that Game Pass isn't exactly equivalent to PS+ offering it for free, as you need Game Pass Ultimate if you want to have the Game Pass subscription alongside the ability to access online play.
PS+ is something the majority of PS Network users have, as it allows you to access major components of titles you own, so the game could practically be considered free there. Game Pass Ultimate allows you to access it alongside other titles, but is considerably worse since if you just want the game, it costs more than to simply purchase it and online access separately.
All this is relevant only to the hypothetical question of DBD alone being F2P, so I'm saying that Game Pass Ultimate isn't exactly the same sort of "free" as PS+ offering the game for free.
People already paying for that game pass have access to DBD without making an additional purchase which is why it's considered free.

"free for Xbox game pass"
$180 a year is a funny definition of free
You are paying a membership fee to have access to games without purchasing them. If you paid $180 to play one game you could've bought for $30 that's a bad decision on your part. If you paid $180 to play multiple games that would've totaled to over $180 had you bought them all then you are essentially playing games for free. I spend $60 on ps+, dbd was included one month for free - I don't consider I paid for the game because I pay for ps+.

I want them to separate pick up item from interaction. I hate that I can't assign different buttons to them.

I play on ps4, I turned crossplay off after playing for hours solo on the first day - I had played over a dozen matches. I was bumped to purple from rank reset, first couple matches were red/purple ranks and the rest were rainbow ranks. The wait was close to 10 minutes which was longer than I was getting before during the day as solo.
Solo experience was not enjoyable at all to the point it was making me not want to play DBD at all anymore. It felt like the survivors from other platforms work more against eachother than with eachother as a team. If I had a lobby that didn't have atleast one other ps4 player I would be left on the hook until I died or hit struggle, usually die. While other platforms wouldn't make effort to save someone from the hook they were obnoxious about being healed, I had someone block me from being able to get to someone struggling because they wanted to be healed. The only times I escaped were when my lobbies were mostly other ps4 players because they would work with team to help others and get gens done. Other platforms weren't helping their teammates and weren't getting gens done, seemed like they mostly just wanted their teammates to die so they could try for the hatch.
Since I've turned off crossplay my waits are only a minute or two for survivor or killer. I am mostly getting lobbies with ranks closer to mine with occasional random rainbow ranks. I have yet to see a repeat of players I've played with/against so thinking a decent amount of ps4 have also turned off crossplay.
I don't know if the bad teammates were mostly pc or other consoles, I honestly didn't put effort into trying to figure it out. I wouldn't mind giving console only crossplay a try to see if maybe solo experience would be better.

Her entire pack of perks are very much gamebreakers the way they can be exploited.
How the ######### you managing to break the game with Sole Survivor???
I thought same thing while reading this. I need to see someone do this. π
-
I'd be willing to buy more like the charity case pack, $5 of random cosmetics.
-
Isn't it already free for Xbox game pass?
PS4 had it for free couple years ago with ps+.
I guess free on pc is different than free on console if there's an increased concern for hackers.
-
I turned off crossplay because solo was just miserable experience. Unless I had another player from ps4 on my team I'd get left on hook (not camped) by my teammates until I died or hit struggle (mostly died). It wasn't like they were busting through gens, they mostly seemed to just be walking around on opposite side of map and maybe one would be chased. It felt like the other platforms the survivors work against eachother instead of together.
-
I think alerting people that they got a thumbs up would help encourage good gameplay. Just alert them with the positive, maybe even have something that shows how many they've received over a certain period of time. People tend to adjust their habits if something they do is liked. Just look at social media, people will post/say things that will get them tons of likes.
-
Should be if killer is within certain distance from hook not terror radius, if you do terror radius then a killer face camping with insidious would get you 0 points. I've said before give camped survivor BP for % gen repair and distraction, would encourage survivor to not attempt escape/not struggle.
-
When I had crossplay on I didn't play one ps4 killer, all from other platforms. Every single match they had iri add-ons equipped. On ps4 I'd see a few a session, never had just entire day filled with just iri add-ons though. It's like the killers on other platforms saved them all up just for crossplay. π
-
The unhooker has to be in the killers terror radius. If unhooker is oblivious, like they're in dream world, or Ghostface is in stealth mode, or killer is running insidious, etc. BT won't activate.
-
They fixed this awhile ago. You need Pyramid Head or Cheryl selected when you do the code on main menu screen.
-
I turned it off on ps4. Wait for either survivor or killer is only a minute or two. Have yet to play with/against same people so can only think that means a decent amount have turned it off as well.
-
π I have a hard time believing self care is rare on pc when there were plenty of posts filled with pc players complaining about other pc players using self care before crossplay started.
-
I turned off crossplay on ps4, survivor and killer waits are only a minute or two. Also have yet to play with/against same players so decent number playing with crossplay off.
-
I'm a ps4 player, I turned off crossplay after playing dozen+ matches the first day because solo survivor was so much worse with it on. I don't know what it is about other platforms that the survivors are so against saves. So many times I was left on the hook to die or atleast hit struggle when killer was no where near me, the only times I was saved before struggle was when another ps4 player was in the lobby. While against unhooks the other survivors are obnoxious about needing to be healed, I guess scared to play injured? I had survivors block me from saving another survivor that was on struggle because they wanted me to heal them first.
Most matches it felt like the survivors from other platforms were just working against eachother rather than work together. The only escapes were when my lobby was mostly ps4 or all ps4 players. If my lobby was mostly other platforms I might complete a gen or two between making saves, then get left on hook while no gens are worked on until I die, maybe one more gen will be completed after I died, another survivor would get killed and the remaining two would wait for other to die for hatch.
-
I like the perk ones as long as they have you do normal gameplay, like starting chases with survivors. Having to hook multiple during EGC with the perk equipped in one match is annoying though.

No wonder!!!!! Heβs 100% correct! Last night a couple of times I saw killers moving super fast. It was awful. Something was really wrong. I kept thing my friend if it was a new perk or something. Bubba was moving crazy fast.
if this is what cross play brings which is hacking from PC then turn off cross play for pc! Just keep it for console players but pc hackers is the worse. It ruined the games last night when it came up. Ruined.
I had a Bubba like that too when I had crossplay activated yesterday. I was playing with my brother and he noticed it too. Bubba didn't have anything that should increase his speed just walking around.
-
I don't take killer serious so I mess around more than anything.
If I'm Mikey and it's Haddonfield no one is allowed in his house.
As Ghostface I'll find a spot and just mark people and watch them scatter. If they get comfortable with me marking them I'll sneak over and down them.
If I'm on Dead Dawg I hang out behind the bar. Maybe go over to the piano and hit it like I'm trying to play it. Sometimes I'll stand over a corpse in a chair hitting them trying to wake them up, survivors will come in and point at the corpse while I hit them.
I'll choose a random gen to guard. Can work on any other gen but that one. Sometimes it's one like Myers house. Sometimes it's one the survivors started - they REALLY want to finish the gen they started, even if I get it back to 0.
I'll bring NOED and leave survivors alone to do gens. Once they finish I'll go and open one door, they have to leave through that door. I'll go guard the other door, anyone at that door will get downed (because who does totems?) and gets to crawl to the other gate to leave.
-
Bring a key and you want have to wait for hatch to open.
-
On PS4 I will smack pallets/gens with my weapon, spin in circles, teabag as ghostface, stand ringing bell over and over, just throw hatchets at wall, etc. Usually the survivors catch on that I'm farming. Do come across the ones that want you to give them chase/stun points but don't want you to hit them. π
-
Killer - ttv/yt in gamertag. Maybe lobby of flashlights if I don't feel like dealing with them.
Survivor - if I'm solo and the other 3 have flashlights it tends to be bad round so more likely to leave, especially if one of the 3 has ttv/yt in gamertag.
-
If no one brings in keys on pc why do pc killers complain about how pc survivors always bring in keys and escape with them? π€

Uh nope
I disabled CP on my PS4 and i find games pretty quickly
We are a lot, more than you can imagine. Theres plenty people that dont want PC players with them thats simple :)
I turned off crossplay on my ps4 and I'm only waiting a minute or two for survivor or killer. I also have yet to play with/against same people and my lobbies aren't rainbow ranks so there's obviously a decent number with it turned off.
-
I don't think he's too strong, I think survivors just get in their head that he is and give up without actually trying to play against him and get better. I think it's like that with a few of the killers that people think are OP.
-

I've gotten stuck there a few times. First time didn't know, times after because I forget. π€¦ββοΈ Most times killer downs and hooks me, last one Freddy gave me the hatch.
-
That's rough. I did it with Ghostface, definitely downed injured survivors. Maybe make your choice isn't activating like it should?

I'm on ps4, I turned off crossplay last night after spending the day trying it out. I felt same way, that if I had to continue with crossplay I'd move on from dbd because it was not a fun experience. After turning off crossplay wait times were better than with it on, I think because by end of the day alot had felt same and turned crossplay off. I was getting matched with rainbow ranks when I had crossplay on. If I was hooked, if I didn't have another ps4 player in my lobby, I would be left there until struggle or would die in first hook. Felt like other platforms survivors play against eachother rather than work as a team.

PS survivors donβt like it becauce even red survivors are baddd... I was Wraith earlier and after hooking one I went all around the map, over a minute later head back to the hook the person had gone to struggle and on the way I see two people standing there staring at her like they thought I was waiting...
When I had crossplay on I was left on hook until dying/struggle unless I had another ps4 player on my team. I actually dreaded having a lobby without atleast 1 ps4 player because I knew if I got hooked I was more than likely going to die on first hook. It was obnoxious. I figured it was a pc thing to just leave people on the hook. Was nice to turn crossplay off and have teammates that will safely unhook before I reach struggle and actually work together as a team.
-
I turned off crossplay on ps4 and wait times have been shorter than they were with crossplay enabled. Guessing probably a decent amount of players turned crossplay off.
-
Because people turned crossplay off? I turned mine off and the wait times on ps4 are way shorter for me than they were when I had it on.

I played a dozen games of cross play. I found wait times longer and teammates garbage. I will stick with my console plebs on this one and opt out. I'd play crossplay with Xbox and possibly switch only but if that isn't an option i will stick with PS4 people.
I turned off cross play on ps4 after spending the day trying out crossplay. Wait times aren't as long as they were with it on and my teammates actual work together.
-
Turned off cross play, waits aren't long which makes me think alot of ps4 players didn't like it. π
-
As solo survivor I had longer queues during the day than I had before cross play. Survivors outside my platform seem to be against teamwork and feels more like they're just trying to get everyone killed. Unless I had teammates from my platform I was getting left on hook until I hit struggle (or die) so just feels like wasted time. Was bumped to purple after rank reset, first few matches were with red/purples but rest were rainbow (few example pics below). After a dozen+ matches it just hasn't been fun so turned off crossplay. Since turning off crossplay the wait hasn't been long, matches are more fun even if I die, and I'm being matched with/against those closer to my rank.
-
Always skip Mori.

Was bumped up to purple after rank reset. First couple lobbies were red/purples, rest of lobbies today have been like this.

Did you disable cross-play? Because that's probably your problem, PC playerbwon't bite.
Nope, cross-play is enabled.
-
I had someone trying to unhook themself, I got to them just as they hit struggle from it. They then led killer to me when possible and when I was on hook stood nearby so no one would come save me. I guess that's how pc plays?
-
Before cross play I was getting quick solo survivor queues during the day on ps4. Now I'm waiting around 10 minutes for a lobby. π
-
I'd love to choose to just play with other consoles.
-
I'm on ps4 too. I think they updated the news before actually activating cross play. Or I have only had ps4 players today.
