They may have asked 2 different questions because of the fact that the killer meta is arguably larger than the survivor meta, hence why so many people complain about DS/UB so often. They probably want to try and address unfun survivor builds by offering them alternative perks first, and then nerfing the others so that survivors aren't left with only 1 or 2 viable builds at high ranks. In comparison, killers have many perks that help in all aspects of the game with most of them being viable at high ranks: Infectious Fright and Deerstalker for slugging, Thanataphobia, Pop, Ruin, Corrupt, etc. for slowing gens, Enduring, Brutal Strength, Spirit Fury, etc. for ending chases quicker. Killers generally just have perks that are more useful than that of survivors, because of this, the devs probably want to focus on trying to add the same for survivor seeing as the last meta perks (subjective) that survivors received were Fixated and Inner Strength from the Stranger Things chapter, which was released over a year ago whereas the last meta perk that killers received was Undying, which came out about 4 months ago now.

Killer mains are constantly saying the devs are biased to survivors and that they only have handful of useful perks which is why they flip when any of those perks are touched. The survey asking survivors about useful perks and killers about fun perks only encourages the argument of devs being biased. What they should've done is asked both sides about both useful and fun perks so it would not come across as being biased to one side over the other.

My favourite part about the survey is when discussing the new survivor and killer perks.

    For survivor perks:

Please rate how Useful the survivor perks are for this chapter.

    For killer perks:

Please rate how Fun the killer perks are for this chapter.

This! When I saw that on the survey I just had to laugh at how ridiculous it was.

  • Since his release I've played against Blight maybe 20 times total, I rarely see him. He doesn't need a nerf, he needs something to encourage people to play him.

Iirc they added a 10 time usage to each code aswell instead of a 1 time use like with the dwight crow.

    DwightCrow was also 10.

  • 1 spectator in addition to the 4 survivors and 1 killer.

It's a shame, so many of their problems are caused by poor communication.

I mean it's an easy thing to fix....it's a choice not to.

Poor communication and focusing on one part of the complaints.

It's like with the limited codes for event charms. Halloween people complained about having to watch streamers instead of playing the game, that they were limited, and that they were biased towards pc players. At Christmas the only change was making a separate code for console, they completely ignored the other issues people had with it.

I think this will be same thing, they'll focus on just the colorblind accessibility but ignore the rest of the complaints and just push out the new HUD. Hope I'm wrong but that tends to be how they handle things.

  • Probably want to tag someone else at BHVR, I don't think Almo is going to be answering anything outside Q&A for awhile after what happened.

I'm on xbox.. I will try the equivalent but there's no button prompt anywhere on the screen saying you could do that

No prompt on PS4 either, I figured out how to do it by accident one day. 😂 Survivor I can spin before I search for a lobby and in the match lobby. Killer I can only spin before searching for lobby, can't spin while they're staring at survivors which is a bummer.

  • On PS4 if you hold x you can use L3 to spin the character in store and lobby.

  • I see Twins about once a play session. I see them way more than Blight, Plague, Demogorgon, or Nurse.

  • Because most players would only test their regular builds. Having to go through bloodweb to open up perks/items creates more scenarios to test. Has also helped find bugs in bloodweb.

  • Why do you complain about being found first when as soon as you spawn you start sprinting everywhere? I don't, someone is going to be found first I have a 1/4 shot of it being me. I do think it's bs that when I'm loading into match I can hear the killers terror radius while the camera is spinning but when that happens I tend to find cover to figure out which direction the killer is coming from.

Why do you loop near the hook your team mate is on? I run to other side of the map to give other survivors shot at a safe hook. If I'm near hooked survivor while in a chase it's because other 2 are dead and I'm going for last chance save.

Why do you open the gates when the killer is nowhere near you? Because I want to leave and move onto the next match. I have a challenge where I need to escape. I accidentally held on just that little bit too long when getting gate to 99%.

Why are you allergic to totems? Only time I don't touch totems are the matches where I'm chased the entire time and don't have a chance to do anything else. I prefer preventing NOED before it activates not after.

Why don't you crouch when you unhook against a Hag? I run Urban Evasion, if I'm playing against Hag I'm crouching the entire time if I'm not in a chase. 😂

Why do you still drop that pallet after you get hit? I was probably already in process of trying to drop it.

Why do you self care under pallets when a team mate is being chased nearby? Teammate was on other side of the map when I started to heal, they ran the killer across the map to where I am healing.

Why do you feel the need to heal 10 times a match? Because I'm playing against Oni and would rather not feed him. Also BP in category that tends to be obnoxious to get BP in.

  • Most players (both sides) aren't as good at the game as they think they are so they find something to blame instead of learning from their own mistakes. Survivors that blame Ruin/Undying for their loss and call it OP are the ones that don't like having the second objective of cleansing totems and/or having a killer that can actually pressures gens for Ruin to be useful.

Parasite Eve. It's not as well known as Silent Hill maybe, but it's not really obscure. Just a bit old.

Parasite Eve would be so good.

  • I would love either of these games being a DLC.

  • I hate being in a chase with Huntress where she'll be just out of range to give you any chase points but can hit you outside that range.

Also think it's dumb you can loop Victor for an entire gen and get 0 chase points.

  • If you want American Chop Suey...

    Ingredients

    • 1 + ½ lbs. ground beef, 85% lean
    • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
    • 2 teaspoons seasoned salt
    • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
    • 3 Tablespoons tomato paste
    • 1 cup diced onion
    • 1 cup diced green pepper
    • 1 stick celery, diced
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 3 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
    • 14.5 oz. diced tomatoes, undrained
    • 16 oz. tomato sauce
    • 2 ½ cups chicken broth, or beef broth
    • 2 cups elbow macaroni
    • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, optional

    Instructions

    • Note: if adding cheese, shred it from a block and set aside before you begin. It shouldn’t be cold when added to the pot. Refrain from packaged shredded cheese if possible as it contains cellulose which prevents it from melting well.
    • Brown beef in a large pot over medium heat until cooked through. Drain grease.
    • Mix in seasonings and tomato paste.
    • Add in onions, peppers, and celery cook for 4 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
    • Mix in the tomato sauce until combined.
    • Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, undrained diced tomatoes and chicken broth.
    • Add the macaroni, stir to combine. Bring to a light and gentle boil.
    • Cover for 4 minutes. Uncover and run a silicone spatula along the bottom. Gently lift up anything that is settled on the bottom.
    • Cover partially and boil gently for 4 more minutes. Run a silicone spatula on the bottom again.
    • Heat for 1-2 more minutes or until macaroni is cooked through. Turn off heat. The pasta will continue to absorb remaining liquid.
    • If desired, gradually sprinkle cheese on top and stir to combine.

  • Focus on fixing bugs and optimization issues.

  • Not consoles fault a rank 1 survivor couldn't loop a rank 9 m1 Leatherface. 😂

Players like that are why end game chat shouldn't exist, they should have to sit and stew in their anger from playing poorly instead of lashing out and blaming everyone else to feel better.

I feel like an idiot doing those “fall from a great height twice” ones, particularly on maps when there is literally only one spot to jump from. It basically entails getting the killer’s attention and leading him to that spot. And if he downs me, doing the same exact thing a second time. I’ve often wondered what was going through the killer’s head when I pull that stupid maneuver that didn’t even work the first time from his point of view.

I've had killers shake their head no at me when I've done same thing. Pretty sure they think I don't know how to loop but really I just want the stupid fall in a chase. 😂

  • Maybe there's not enough Spirit bandage to cover Oni? 😬

  • Because she's wearing hand-me-downs from the Oni?

Because Oni wouldn't fit into Spirits clothes?

  • My swf teammate and I would purposely get ourselves hooked during EGC so the other could get unhook during EGC challenges done.

All the killer challenges with killers I don't enjoy playing that didn't require killing I basically would stand in spot hoping survivors would catch on. As Wraith for ring bell near survivors I'd walk over, ring bell, then walk away. Hillbilly I would find hill and just run around it with my chainsaw until survivors would come up and stand in front of me. Huntress I would stand back throwing hatchets from far away at gen they were working on and hope it was far enough when I'd hit survivor on gen - they ended up just holding still for me until I got the needed hits in.

When rift is open I try to pay attention to what the opposite sides challenges are so I can help them out. Had a Spirit that was slashing wanting someone to follow her and cleanse her haunted grounds so she could down them. I had multiple pallet stun in one match so after she downed me she let me stun her with the needed amount of pallets.

  • I just go around breaking pallets I may have missed or find hatch to close. Most times the survivors are paying more attention to their teabagging than they are the EGC timer and get killed. 😂

  • It's hit/miss if survivors will farm. Many have been burned in previous matches by killers pretending to farm only to slaughter them. If you do farm you gotta do it with everyone and can't force/punish survivor if they decide to do gens while others are off running around with you. Forcing farming is what is reportable.

To get survivors to farm I usually spin in circles, stand hitting pallet, hit gen, teabag as Ghostface, step in own traps... Pretty much anything non-threatening. Sometimes survivors catch on and we farm BP and challenges, other times they rush gens and leave.

  • If I see TTV or YT in the gamertag. They can find someone else to give them content.

If it's lobby with multiple flashlights.

  • I usually bring NOED because it's fun to see if they completed gens if they also did totems. Most times there's only one or two survivors left at that point so it's not often they even bothered with totems. If NOED doesn't activate I'm just impressed the survivors actually cleansed all 5 totems and hope I get them in my survivor lobbies.

  • I have dodged lobbies when I recognize gamer tags of players that worked with killer in past games or were terrible teammate.

Most times if I leave a lobby it's because glitch where I loaded into the lobby but my swf teammate for some reason didn't. Sometimes it's because I was going to play solo but swf teammate hopped on so I leave to play with him.

  • Only if he can pogostick survivors to death.

  • I'm red rank. When I'm solo I get paired with yellow/brown survivors against yellow/brown killers every few matches. When I play swf with my brother he is purple, we get matched with yellow/brown survivors against yellow/brown killers every few matches.

It's not swf, it's just matchmaking.

  • That's too much information to be giving players in the game. Also don't need additional things added to block screen even more with new HUD they're already planning.

yes however a new totem will become a hex totem the next time a survivor is hooked if there is still a dull totem remaining on the map

I like that simply because it encourages survivors to do totems. 😂

I agree, though I will say Bubba's perk Knock Out deafens your hearing by a lot.

It does but you're on the ground anyway so not like it's really doing much. Being deaf in a chase though would make it harder to tell where stealth killer is when you can't hear foot steps/breathing or when killer is about to use power. When not in chase not hearing sound of hex totem crackling nearby, skill check notification, or someone being chased nearby.

  • We have blindness I think we should also have deaf. Oblivious while you can't hear terror radius you can hear other sounds. If survivors were made deaf for period of time similar to the ways blindness is inflicted it could make for some interesting game play.

  • I have fun playing Trapper.

Sound of survivors getting stuck in traps is so satisfying. One time I managed to catch remaining 3 survivors at same time in traps around the map, I thought there was a glitch with the survivor's scream when she stepped in a trap while I was chasing her until I looked at the HUD and saw 3 traps at bottom. 😂

Fun finding random places to put traps to surprise survivors. Watching survivors hesitate in areas Trappers usually put traps only to run straight into one in random area is hilarious.

I've managed to set up series of traps and watch same survivor get stuck in them back to back. Love watching survivors run into same trap over and over.

  • Killers that create a ridiculous slowdown like Freddy can.

  • I don't hate Hag, I hate how dumb the randoms are when I play against her.

  • Because it'd encourage killers to tunnel the obsession out of the game.

  • @DBD78 said:

It should be same for everyone. So remove chat for PC-players aswell. Toxic messages we can all do without.

Would also cut down on reports they receive if they did this.

  • When there's no NOED:

    I have challenge to escape.

Player was one that screwed over the team a bunch during the match.

Killer has instadown ability so avoiding giving them more kills.

I had been left on first hook until struggle earlier in the match and they weren't the one that made effort to save me.

I don't run BT and killer is face camping.

I'm tired of the match and just want to move on to the next.

  • NOED is fine, survivors ignoring totems is the problem. Someone on another NOED post had great idea - only survivors that didn't cleanse atleast 1 totem would be exposed and the exit would be blocked until all totems are cleansed.

  • I see mori offerings played several times every game session. Many times the killer opts for 3rd hook over mori. When killer does use mori it's either to save a hook or avoid DS. Sometimes it'll be camping/tunnel killers that wait for survivor to enter struggle so they can mori after one hook.

Playing killer on console (PS4,Switch,Xbox One) can be extremely annoying because of FPS drops (often times when somebody uses an exhaustion perk, someone loots a chest, getting bloodlust 1 etc.)

Can't tell you how many hits or even games i lost because the FPS drop had to happen at the worst possible moment.

Knowing I've lost a game because of something triggering an FPS drops to screw me over is so frustrating. Think the fact there's a post (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/187573/console-optimization/p1) that has console players listing the many triggers on both sides shows how bad optimization is for console. That weekend they removed bloodlust was so nice to not deal with that fps drop trigger.

Thanks to the lack of optimization it has made more ps4 players turn off crossplay so wait times with crossplay off are pretty nice.

I don't get why you complain about this topic tbh. If you did grind a whole rift without actually buying tiers you got ALL the cosmetics for 1000 Auric Cells.

Technically it's free because you earn those 1000 auric cells back.

I comment because this is a tired issue, and I feel driven to comment on it every time. Totems are objectives. If I had my way NOED would work like this (to truly drive the point home):

    1. NOED activates exactly as it does now.
    2. Anyone who has not cleansed at least one Totem is now Exposed.
    3. The exit gates are blocked to anyone who has not cleansed a Totem.
    4. Cleansing the now lit NOED Totem will end all effects.

Totems were intended as additional objectives by the DEV so that Gen-Rush wasn't the end all be all. I think they should step UP how many Totems hit end game (and hit hard) just like NOED to drive the point home. Do Bones.

I would love having those that do totems be immune to NOED, that'd be an amazing change.

  • I think alot of times when people say "devs" they really mean BHVR - so "devs" instead of the specific department(s) at BHVR responsible for organizing and sharing information. While devs like Almo/McLean are under NDA there are those above them that can work with PR department to put out informative updates more often.

There are some that unfortunately do mean specific devs. I'm pretty sure based on the way those players comment they think Almo is only person working on DBD and makes 100% of the decisions.

  • NOED is fine. Killers are constantly complaining that totems are out in the open and next to gens making them too easy for survivors to cleanse. Totems don't take long to cleanse, the only reason they become an issue in solo lobbies is because of the mentality of thinking they are a waste of time. Survivors would rather risk NOED and leave behind teammate at end than prevent it and have all escape. I see plenty of killers in red ranks use NOED if they aren't running Ruin/Undying because when you get up to red/purple ranks most survivors ignore the totems. NOED shouldn't be changed just because survivors don't feel like doing totems.

  • Exposed only means killer can down you with one hit, not that they can see your aura.

Change buttons immediately so pallet drop isn't same button as heal.

Had no idea for longest time that BT is a perk not something base kit and that's why some players would pull me off hook in front of killer and I wouldn't go down when they hit me. Needing to mend also confused me, didn't understand why I could heal without a medkit while mending but still not be fully healed.

That even though the tutorial has you attempt escape you shouldn't immediately attempt escape every match on first hook.

As killer know when to break off a chase.
