No one is defending the game, I just don’t think basing your whole experience off of one game is the right way to go about things. You do you though.

I understand what you're saying but it's an endless cycle currently & yeah I just don't want to adapt the mentality to keep going hoping for better matches is all.

thanks for letting us know im sure it'll magically change with the RE chapter. that thing that has always been a thing for years I mean, I'm sure it will

Capgod is only thing that can save DBD at this point.

It's my first game against Dredge too! I know nothing about him so let's see what happens...

Got hooked after a good chase (although before getting caught, I like...lagged out a bit and teleported backwards like three steps. Is that the rubber banding thing people are complaining about? I've never seen that happen before...). Eventually saved

    Ahhhhhhhh, everything is dark!!!!! HELP!!!!!

    I don't know what's happening :,(

Oh it stopped being dark. So far I'm the only one who was hooked

I'm locking lockers. I'm not sure why

I broke the hook when he tried to get a second person hooked so I think he's mad at me. He hooked me again :(

Steve saved me! it's dark again and someone is getting hooked. I'm scared!

I saved that lady but she didn't want to be healed by me :(

He's got No Way Out! And is hooking someone else. He's proxy camping :(

Oh, he can teleport!!!! I thought he could only teleport to lockers but evidently he can teleport wherever he wants. Neato

I went into the basement anyway and saved the camped. It got dark and spooky again. He must not have a terror radius when it's dark and spooky, although he glows like a glow-stick when it's dark and spooky, which I guess is handy for us

I died. He had a Mori on so he Mori'ed me. I was at the exit gate and the lady I was with had Sabotage so I thought I'd get away when she sabo'ed the only hook nearby. Then he Moried me. Then she ran away from the gate for some reason and got killed herself by the EGC timer expiring. I'm not sure why...

    HAHA the ending though

Then why didn’t you elaborate that in your original post?

because this is not a salt post or anything like that. Just wanted to state my experience was all. So I don't get why some are treating me like I'm crying when all I did was post one sentence. But seems to me people are so eager to defend their game I guess.

  • I guess what I'm trying to say is that there's no place for casuals in DBD no more it's either conform to play styles & meta or just lose.

    :(

If that's the real reason, that rubs me the wrong way.

The bloodpoint cap has never been a factor for me in deciding when to stop/restart playing the game. Obviously, I can't put my personal bias on others, but I'm struggling to see how the BP cap would be that influential for most people.

It's the only logical sense to me. The BP in general is a sense of progression in the game, to get items, perk tier levels & more and if people could just keep stacking BP then they wouldn't need to boot up the game daily. It's an easy trick into getting people to open the game up and spend a few hours and bucks.

    @bittercranberry to be clear, I'm not saying you're wrong. What I'm saying is, if that's BHVR's logic, I think that's a mistake.

Yeah I get what you're saying & what I'm saying is not factual but I'm just trying to look at it from their side and it only makes sense to me in that way because capping currency that you can earn is absurd especially since they won't let you cap auric cells. Trust me alot of BHVRS logic is just ???????

  • I remember an explanation and I'm paraphrasing but it was on the lines that the shirt, pants or head piece wouldn't fit or look good paired with other cosmetics which in then locks them.

To me it's just dumb & doesn't give the player a true customizable character instead they want you to be happy with how they prefer you're character to look.

  • Not skilled enough to beat 3 vs 1?? Down the MMR ladder you go.

But seriously yeah it's frustrating but what can you do besides hope for better matches.

  • It's literally a reason for players to keep actively playing, if you can't save up BP then you have to constantly spend & gain in order to not hit the cap. It's a sneaky trick but it's got a lot of people hooked.

  • You're not missing anything with the rewards they're going to giving, it's already confirmed to suck.

  • Around $40, I just buy licenses no cosmetics though.

  • The only reason it brings me back is licenses but puts me back off because I'm reminded of the horrendous gameplay

  • People still play trickster??? I haven't seen one in ages :/

  • Silent Hill... I could finally walk away from the game peacefully lol

  • you lost me when you said "Losing the Stranger Things license and not getting another big license since it has really made the player base lose passion for the game." Stranger things was not even top 5 most popular license in this game lol.

  • The only thing keeping this game alive and ahead of its competition is its licenses, remove them and the player base will be obsolete.

  • No they want you to grind and buy everything again

  • As long as it'll sell it doesn't have to make sense. DBD does not really care about their lore.

  • I couldn't agree more, pretty much an easy win especially against M1 killers.

  • Killers after trials suffer PTSD & trauma due to clicky clicks & the tbags.

  • I think no one would have a problem with a higher kill rate as long as their calculating MMR & skill with what you've done in the match.

  • This is year 6... We should have been in the "future" already.

I'm not all that invested in Scooby Doo personally, but I can understand some people would be excited to have the Gang as survivors. I can't really see a Scooby Doo "killer" being in the game. (What would that even be, a serial killer who was running a real estate scam on an amusement park?)

    HAHA true horror.

    @Wylrin said:

It's been so long since I've watched Scooby-Doo, so there are probably more infamous costumed antagonists who would be better suited that I'm just not thinking of. But just the mental image of the Mummy chasing a survivor going, "Coin, coin!" is enough to make me absolutely adore this idea.

Honestly would never hear another complaint by me. LOL

I really love Yamaoka Family Estate, because this map is balanced, good loops, nice hills (different one), good totem spots and the correct size.

The 2nd Yamaoka-map (with the plateau) is ok, but i dont like the "2 parted-map-design".

My 2nd fav map is Midwich.

Midwich since it's easier to patrol gens

  • I think DBD is objectively fine because I know what it is. It's the best 7/10 game ever made HAHA. Can't expect every game to be the best ever made but while saying that the biggest issue is the devs over time didn't process the game which is why it's stale now. Games like Fortnite are live service just like DBD but the main difference is that Fortnite continues to add stuff to the game whether it's new games modes, updates, un vaulting weapons keeping the game fresh while creating No Build Modes to appease newer and returning players. DBD just chooses not to be the ultimate party horror game and that's what frustrates me the most since it has all the licenses to do it...

  • Evil dead is a solid entry in the asym multiplayer genre. It blends variety of gameplay from other games but as an Evil Dead fan I couldn't be more happier!

The advertisement and lack of promotion worried me and delays but I'm glad it came out good. The map has a lot of references to the movies and TV show which fans will appreciate like myself. I haven't tried Demon because it seems like to much for me but I'll get around to it eventually.

What I appreciate most is that both sides is a constant fight without things heavily going one side or the other and allows each side the ability to recover especially in late game so it makes it all the worth while to stick and get invested in your matches.

My only complaint is having to mic my teammates who are just loud or blasting music.

Overall I'm enjoying it but see the problem others as it's just one heavy license which kind of only grasp to an older audience and lack of content but I'm hopeful DLC's will be good and I'm hoping for them to land another license or have a cross over!! It's not really out of the realm or question since more game companies like capcom and others are more than willing to let their characters go to other game franchises.

  • As long as we get Rebecca, I'll be happy and she'll be my new main!!

Yes. It is a competitive game. Go google what the word means. It does not mean "played at the esport level".

Two sides are playing AGAINST each other. That is a competitive game.

    You're an absolute troll.

You're not even going to acknowledge my question but go ahead and blurt your side of things? Obviously you don't want a discussion and just want to throw your own 2 cents into the conversation.

Go ahead and keep talking to yourself because it's obvious you're just tagging me to tell your opinion lol

  • They made lots of promises and amazing announcements but can they pull it off? I truly hope they do, I don't want this game to die slowly. I'm really excited my favorite RE character Rebecca is coming if leaks are true!!

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2964575#Comment_2964575

The difference is that in the case of the Killer that is his actual objective. It is job to secure that kill. This isn't some jerk spawncamping instead of doing an objective somewhere else.

And the "not fun" argument doesn't seem to apply when I'm getting chain blinded or kick 17 pallets in a single game. Every game is going to have things the other side does you don't like. That is inevitable in a competitive game.

You're trolling?? DBD is a competitive game??

How many staring contest does there have to be?? It all leads to the staleness of the game and player drop recently.

I do agree that there are too many pallets on maps but not every survivor runs each map and tile efficiently most people will just pre drop the pallet after making one loop.

You didn't even answer if you feel it's balanced gameplay, never mind what BHVR said when we all know they don't know how to balance, now you're taking their legitimate strat explanation?? So they know what they're talking about? The same balance team that brought CoH into this game? The same team that buffed boil over but got easily exploited and had to be de-buffed? It's quite literal a smoke screen to cover horrible game mechanics but i guess some loyalist can't see that. No one has a problem with securing a kill but making the game a 3 V 1 off the bat is miserable especially when it's a designed 4 V 1 but matches often feel like a 1 V 1.

  • @WesCravenFan said:

Another thread where a Survivor acts like camping and tunnelling are crimes that have been committed.

I'm so tired of seeing this reaction when people tell you it's miserable and not fun to play against which is the reason why this game can't keep newer players and only the older players of DBD can put up with these broken mechanics.

Let me give you a scenario:

You're playing COD or any shooter, let's say anytime you spawn in the game someone has a clear scope and ready to fire right when you spawn back in the match. Is that fair at all? The devs and community are asking survivors who get camped and tunnel to just sit there let your teams do gens. Not very interactive gameplay am I right?

The fact that you need perks to combat this is an issue as well lol.

While yes survivors go over board and cry most of the time and even entitled as well, gamers that actually played balanced games know that it's literally just broken.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I definitely understand the frustration. SBMM/MMR is intensely frustrating as a solo survivor if you're a skilled player. It does a terrible job of matching you accordingly. A balanced outcome =/= a fun or balanced match, and I wish the devs would realize this. Just because you have a balanced match numbers-wise doesn't mean it's going to be fun or even feel playable for the higher MMR players in that lobby.

I often have a similar experience as OP on survivor. I get matched against a killer who genuinely can't down me, and then they cycle off of me and my teammates die instantly as if they've just loaded up DbD for the first time. I die so often to killers who aren't anywhere near my skill level and there's genuinely nothing I can do to change the outcome of the match. I can't force the killer to chase only me. I can't force my teammates to do the single objective there is in DbD (gens). This isn't Overwatch, Valorant, etc., where a smurf can carry an entire team.

"Variety" of teammates isn't fun. It makes the experience miserable.

It sucks that their planting their foot on this system too.. it honestly feels the same as before getting random matches with unbalanced matchmaking. I think the old way was better when it calculated what you did in game, all BHVR had to do was uncap how much points you could rack up because the time you hit max points it's like what's the point of doing more gens or going for more saves/ body blocks if I can't get more points or pip right? All they had to do was fix and work this system and it'd be better then what we have now. Now it's a hidden skill number because why??? Makes literal no sense and it'd be probably further proof and would expose the system if people could actually see their MMR. It just feels so shady and not transparent to your players and having Patrick explain to us what skill is on top of all this...

I like Scooby, but i think it should be something like "Attack on titan", outfits and not a full chapter (Scooby wouldnt be playable and hooking/moring the gang would feel weird lol since that license is not that gore)

I could see it happen this way but I heard the new show with Velma is going to be more gore and aimed at an older audience so maybe???

    @DredgenWar237 said:

As a huge Scooby-Doo fan...I really don't want that. Forsakes what little of the grimdark, depressing tone is left too much for me.

I get what you're saying but hear me out but some of the Licenses don't make sense either if we're thinking lore due to it having survivors well known for fighting back.

Ash - "Shoot first ask questions later" but DBD makes him a whimp and run away from killer???

RE & Silent Hill - Where's the guns and the characters also don't run away from their threats but confront them head on.

Bill - he took an absolute army by himself??

I just think DBD could fit it in the game but yeah I see how it could ruin the atmosphere for some.

Whats wrong with nurse? Just because you find 1 god nurse in 1000 matches doesn´t make the other 99% you encounter OP. She still has the lowest kill rate of all killers.

Most importantly, if survivors actually took their time to learn how to play against Nurse, then no one would complain about her.

This. I've only encountered like 2 or 3 god nurses throughout all my time in this game & the ok and below average nurses are a lot more telegraphed and don't know how to use a blink and always blink to short or to far and I know you hear it a lot but breaking line of sight will make it difficult for them to predict where you're running next.

  • Could you imagine someone yelling at you to come for the save or do gens. lol no this is a hard pass, trust me this game is fine without voice chat and the way people could get tilted in this game.. yikes.

this is certainly not about skill.

Killers on console are indubitably worse than PC killers. Why? Because of what hardware they control their character with.

Survivors are no different, its infinitely easier to look behind you and back forward while using a mouse, you can turn corners tighter and with more precision, 360's arent slow or easily telegraphed (trust me, i play killer too, i know what a console 360 looks like in comparison.)

The only aspect of survivor that isnt affected by being on console is working on a gen.

Oh, lets not forget about Pinhead and the multiple maps for a single button for survivor. Console survivors will constantly accidentally vault when they meant to perform another action, leading for an easy grab for Pinhead.

Looping is not that hard where you have to pan your camera constantly lol just understand distance and what you can get away with is all it is in looping. If you're relying on 360's to loop IDK WHAT TO TELL YOU, just use the tiles and have general map knowledge is all there is to it. Trying to pull a 360 = out of position or in an open area with no pallets

I will say Killer is easier on PC but as for the survivor aspect, meh not much difference. You either can loop or you can't.

The Pinhead same vault/ break chain is console's fault? Or the Devs not properly play testing and taking back feedback that console players have been saying since he released? You shouldn't have to change your controller input for one killer.

  • I can't believe people are still dictating and linking skill to which console you play... gamers these days and their elitism with whatever console they own.

I think a Moderator ought to move this one into Feedback/suggestions, but...

I'm certain the Scooby Doo Licence Holder would like to do some spinoff Chapter with BHVR to appeal to an older demographic.

I would want Shaggy with a Dog AI to follow him around, also jump into his arms when running.

I know the people in their early 20's would love this! LOL especially myself. And that's a great idea! I left Scoob out because I have no idea how to implement him..

  • Yes I'm having this issue as well on PS4.

  • As an RE fan as well I agree 100% with reworking the models. They always looked half done to me as well especially Claire! I couldn't recognize her at first because her face is so weird but I think Leon is fine and don't get me started when Jill looked like a Nanny.

I agree that the tentacle being Nemesis's power is well not really Nemesis and not what makes him such a big threat in RE3 or the remake. You know at any given time he could close the distance on you and you'd have to dodge for your life & his weapons as well! LOL. But I don't think they'll completely change any KILLER'S powers because yeah they just won't and haven't done it to any other killer.

AND I'VE BEEN ADVOCATING FOR THE CLASSIC NEMMY SKIN. WHERE IS IT BHVR & yeah I don't know why they have all the orange things on RPD it just ruins it for me like can we remove these? I'm not a huge fun when they add the blight effect on skins as well it's just not good like one of Nea's tops has it and it's so cute but the blight edit ruins it. :(

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/324554/concern-with-the-upcoming-meta-shake-up

If Solo Queue is really as miserable as most people claim, are those two perks REALLY saving you as much as you think they are?

I didn't say say solo Q is miserable, I just expressed the frustration I have with having to equip two perks every game. Trust me when I say that I want to run different builds and perks but it's just useless to even try when you know how things are going to go. Did you read the scenarios I listed above? I have to literally equip BT for survivors who aren't great loopers and without it you're asking them to loop killer when they're like 2 meters away waiting for them to get unhooked. And DS is because I don't expect anyone to run BT as long as you're unhooking and going for saves thats fine, I'll take the hit off hook and DS them from there. It's not perks saving me it's trying to compensate for the ######### mechanic that allows you to get hit right after hook in which this game deems fair when we know any other game would have addressed this!!!

    @Carrow said:

At the end of it, the balancing team is still the folks who thought that the original COH was a perfectly balanced perk and that the buffed Boil Over perk that was nerfed almost immediately for how easy it was to exploit it was fine, speaks volumes of just how bad things are going to be. They are overhauling basic game related stuff and the most useful perks. I do not see how BHVR, renowned for their ability to muck up even the most simple of things, can do sweeping changes and not just completely break the game. I expect the first 3 months of the perk overhaul to be absolutely ridiculous balance wise. We are going to be seeing so much clowning around, I might just take a break from playing the game and instead watch everything unfold.

I hear you :/ it's super frustrating especially with every update being a buggy mess. And the way BHVR chooses to address things just makes things even more irritating. We just get a lot of TBD answers and "oh were working on things" LIKE WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING FOR 6 YEARS. To me this is make or break it for the future of the game because now we have Evil Dead (which is so much fun) and so many more games coming and don't see how people would choose to play this over those.

  • @Remedicist said:

According to MandyTalk, there will be some base game changes along with the perk changes that addresses why the current meta perks are used so much. Therefore even if some perks like ds and bt get changed, in theory the new base game mechanics should help balance it out as well.

It's tough to imagine since I don't feel their removing hooks from the base game but we'll see where they go.

I've heard people saying Corrupt Intervention and Borrowed Time could become base kit. I think BT was kind of teased in a previous live stream from BHVR. But I actually think BBQ could become base kit... I only have doubt because it's a license. BT too, but Bill is available from the start of the game, without us having to purchase/unlock him.

But I'm wondering if we can expect other changes. Like, not only the perks themselves.

Great point. But I feel BBQ should have already been base kit since it'll always keep the killer active and not have to hunt and find the immersive crouch walking survivors. LOL

  • Is RE4 Remake really their next project?! I know it's been leaked but personally I would of liked an RE0, Code Veronica remake or the Switch Timed Exclusive game instead because RE4 is overrated in my books and doesn't need a remake.
