Out of curiosity, what would this solve? It delays the first hook, but a slugged survivor still needs to be picked up and can be camped. As a survivor main, I dont want the pace of the match to be a train wreck of mandatory slugging.
I'm not sure if you're asking me a genuine question or if it's rhetorical, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. The idea was to solve the problem of sweaty killers hooking a survivor(s) instantly at the start of a match. I thought that was obvious? As I already stated, it could be a boon totem that you need to be in its range... There's so many different angles you could look at this but everyone seems to think it must result in what you say mandatory sluggings etc, think out of the box. It was an idea, that can be extrapolated not just shut down and taken to the extreme.45% was just a number I threw out there, it could be 60 or whatever. All you negative Nancy's don't bring anything constructive to the discussion and that is really what is sad.

Both killers and survivors would hate this. This appeals to nobody.
2 votes up for posting opinion with no facts. Well done.

I don't understand the point of baiting like this on dbd forums. You are literally gaining nothing from it. Unless you derive joy from other humans being mad, in which case I am sorry for you.
I'm sorry you're mad but I don't understand why I'm always being accused of "baiting".

Sorry but your idea is just bad and throwing a tantrum at people for saying so isn't going to change that.
A tantrum. Funny. It's not a bad idea at all and I don't need validation to know that. I also know some other things but I'll keep that to myself.
-
It really seems that this discussion has attracted nothing but killer mains who don't want their game made harder for them.

@Aven_Fallen said:
Really bad idea.
As others have said, Killer is the weakest in the early game and becomes stronger during the game, because the Killer is able to build up pressure by forcing Survivors into altruistic actions. This is why the first Gen(s) are usually the fastest and the last Gen is probably slower than the 4 Gens before it.
So making the Killer weaker in the early game does not really make sense.
Furthermore, it would be very boring for the Survivor. I dont want to lie around for almost 2 minutes before I get picked up. And I want to unhook people, because this grants way more BPs than healing someone from the ground.
And last but not least - many Perks which can be useful in the early game will be useless. E.g. every Hook-Perk or Perks like Thrilling Tremors. Healthy Perks. E.g. my Billy-Build includes BBQ and Lethal Pursuer, when I cannot hook the Survivor, both Perks are pointless.
If you don't want to lay around for 2 minutes you wouldn't equip the perk.
You would only be unable to hook the survivor who has this perk, you could hook another survivor instead.
Regarding your first point, it's a matter of opinion that killers are weakest early game. I see many times where killers slug before 1 gen is done regardless, so this hypothetical perk would not stop that anyway.
If it's a totem, it could be snuffed or there could be a different condition for it to enable/disable.
There are so many factors about this that everyone seems to ignore, probably because they are killer/survivor sided. I play both equally so I have no agenda here. I just notice that a survivor can be hooked within the first minute sometimes and nobody saves them. And when I play killer, I don't like hooking a survivor within the first minute, I usually leave one on the ground and pressure a gen. But it seems like some players are sweaty for the hooks and the bleed out mechanic doesn't even come into play.

I'm sorry that no one likes your idea but there's a very good reason people don't like your idea. It's just...not a very good idea. You swung and missed, no shame in that but lashing out at everyone else for not understanding your "great" idea is not the way.

The idea sucks. In any form. Period. For the reasons everyone has already said.
If you're going to whine when nobody likes your ideas and gives you feedback as to why, then stop posting them, as you obviously can't handle constructive criticism without taking it personally.
Really? You guys going to play that card?
Yeah, my bad for thinking we could have a discussion instead of a flame war. Where's the block button
-
Reading all these comments, guys act like you can't be healed in dying state... Or that all survivors run the same perks. I even said what if it was a boon totem then it wouldn't be abused but no one here sees that. But yeah, you guys get all the likes even when you got it wrong. Wow.
-
Or maybe a boon totem effect so it only works when you're in range
-
@Crowman said:
You want the killer to have to slug every survivor on the ground for over 2 minutes before they can be hooked. You're just going to create a meta of killers running slugging builds and that's not going to be very fun for anyone.
It's just a thought, maybe it could be a survivor perk and it only effects those who equip it
-
@Emeal said:
It would be better to tell bHVR what perk is having issues with being better at lower levels so they can fix that instead of changing a whole system for the off-chance a perk might be like that.
They wouldn't have to change anything as those tiers are already in the game and available to you as long as you don't buy higher tiers in the bloodweb.
-
Here's an idea, maybe make it so the hatch only appears if each survivor saves at least once in the trial? Or something along those lines

Horrible idea considering basement bubba (and quite a few other killers like this) exists
Even considering basement bubba can still be dealt with, it's still possible to save.
-
@MikeStev said:
you mean "deliverance"?
No, that's not force, that's a choice. I mean like a killer perk that forces survivors to stop what they're doing somehow and save before next hook phase or death.
-
It's fine because you have perks blood warden, no way out and remember me, though I think blood warden might need a small buff, maybe.
-
Hag with rusty shackles (no indication of traps being triggered) use a perk with undetectable like dark devotion or grandmas heart add-on.
The shape & boyfriend's memo (increases lunge of basic attack), just don't reach tier 2 unless you have to as you can't go back to tier 1. Play with your food is good with this for patrolling gens and chasing survivors.
The Dredge with an undetectable perk like dark devotion tinkerer insidious (it's been a while but I think insidious works, just enter a locker near a gen and wait for survivor).I
If I find other jumpscare killers I'll post it here.
-
Run to cancel option in settings
-
-
I main Dredge. I used to main Hag. Granted I've not played against Dredge much. That said, I thought Hag was very strong until I used Dredge after hiatus. It kind of goes without saying it's map control in lockers is strong by itself, but it is also able to kill loops using it's remnant, AND push survivors whichever way you want them to go. It puts most killers to shame the amount of map control both Hag and Dredge have.
-
I agree. It's harsh just to be killed on first hook instantly as last survivor. At least let me attempt an escape!
-
Also, if they DC on death hook, the hook remains for someone else to die on....
-
Vid of the bug/glitch - https://youtu.be/64zxoZWT5p4
-
So now agitation perk is mandatory to deal with this nonsense.
-
Great, so all survivors are prohibited to play like this. Find a spot far away from a hook, Don't do gens etc and bleed out? Fantastic!
-
@GentlemanFridge said:
Why do you keep trying to hook them...?
The game could've been over way earlier.
The point of the game is to hook them. Grated I didn't know i could mori them. Still no excuse for their behaviour though
-
The camped the same spot so they could bleed out.
-
My issue with the wiggle meter is getting to 100% and still being hooked.
Your idea might be worth trying out though, I'm not sure about that one.
-
When they don't take a protection hit at full health and I'm injured right next to them and a hook.

They weren't asking for a beginner's guide despite the title, they were complaining about teammates.
Actually both. There should be a guide that most people can easily access this knowledge.

Apart from getting cucked in certain Tiles because I like to use Lithe (that is my own problem), my problem is you mentioning BT.
If you remove BT from the equation, how fun is tunneling?
You like band-aid Perks, right? That's good design? The tunneling isn't what annoys me, it's the apathy towards it.
Are we talking about tunnelling or camping? because you brought up chainsaw off hook which sounds camping hook. That's where BT comes into play. Without BT your teammates need to distract the killer, lure him away from hook and/Or take a protection hit. Those are the options and it's doable if your team are on the same page.
In a regular chase, BT is useless, juke, make the killer wiff or strike an object/wall, have teammate take a protection hit, distract the killer and hopefully the killer chases them, vault a window... it's not rocket science.
Like I said, once you get better at losing the killer, tunnelling is rarely an issue.

Oh yes, getting Chainsawed off of Hook is exciting gameplay, isn't it?
It doesn't bother me. If I were saving you from hook you would have endurance, chainsaw, knife, it doesn't matter, you would most likely be injured and going down anyway.
Literally, if you're moaning about tunnelling then you obviously need to get better at escaping.
-
@Pukenplag said:
Because it is unfun to face. As simple as that. You got your answer, there's no counter argument. It doesn't matter if it is needed or not, that's not your question. "Why do people hate tunneling?"-It's unfun to face. End of discussion.
Sir, yes sir.

Survivors make noise when injured, leave blood, scratch marks, etc. It's not that easy to lose the killer if he has eyes. lol
I never said it was easy, but once you learn how to walk to leave no scratch marks, crouch to make less noise, how long it takes for your blood to disappear etc. Tunnelling becomes less of a problem
-
People who hate tunnelling fail to lose the killer in a chase simultaneously failing to own that fact. That's why.
-
I also noticed that sound bug at the start of a match where you hear the item depleting or being picked up since around the time the icon bug appeared.
-
Yes, the past couple of weeks about half my matches the game will lag when unhooking etc.
My last game was on RPD against Ghostface, every time someone was unhooked or whatever they were doing caused the game to freeze for a second. This really messes with my flow and was downed attempting to flee down the stairs next to chiefs office because it lagged as I turned to go down the second set of steps allowing GF to down me just as my team were opening the exit gates.

Uhh wraith isnt better than them.
At least not on the jumpscare aspect.
Otherwise myers and ghostface are weak anyway, so its good wraith is stronger.
And yea, i know silent bell is a addon.
But when you talked about how Wraith is super strong at jumpscaring you didnt talked about the addon.
You were talking about wraith in general and without the addon wraith cant jumpscare.
You don't say, I didn't know that. Thanks for the info 👍 bye now.

Nowhere you mentioned the silent bell. You only said wraith.
Even then, just because Myers and Ghostface are jumpscare kings, it doesnt mean Wraith isnt supposed to do that too.
Yeah but wraith is better than them at it by a long shot. The silent bell is a wraith add-on. Are you intentionally acting ignorant?

if you get jumpscared by BING BONG man you got some serious problems.
Besodes that, he came before myers and ghostface.
Are you aware of his silent bell? Nevermind his walking speed while cloaked.
And wraith coming first has nothing to do with Myers and ghostface being the best jumpscare killers in the game. Try again.

Sprint burst and breakout are a must for me (and soul guard/metal of man. Getting it to work with it is a pain). Sabo if I'm low on toolboxes and add ons, deliverance if ive been left on hook previous games, otherwise borrowed time or decisive strike(mostly useless but occasionally lucky).
So Sprint burst, breakout and some combination of the above.

No. It would be a waste of money. They're already hemorrhaging cash writing and erasing their work constantly.

Yeah, I think he needs some tweaks. I hate going against him.
I think he needs a rework in my opinion. I've never liked using him but vs him now is insane. Myers and ghostface are meant to be the jump scare gods not wraith.

I mean, I'm in this for my own enjoyment, not to make others feel good about themselves. If I'm not having fun, in whatever shape or form that happens to be, why even try? At the end of the day, that's what gaming is about, isn't it? Self enjoyment? Be it by yourself, or with others. In this case, I play DbD by myself, so I look out for myself. If that's entitled, then I'll freely admit it. Still won't change how I see this poorly designed excuse for a map.
That's a pretty selfish outlook to have in an online only game. I hope I never run into you on dbd that's all I have to say.
