That's not true, if tunneling and camping were made so ridiculously hard that they were near impossible to do then killers would have no choice but to play the game without doing them. My suggestion is make every hook act like cage of atonement. Here I'll talk you through it.
The killer runs after the survivor, downs them, and hooks them. When they get hooked they instantly disappear and appear on another side of the map, from that point until the point of them either dying or getting unhooked the other survivors have a chance to get them out of the cage. If by some miracle the killer happens to find them first(because remember he can't see the cage until he's physically near it) then and only then can he camp. But at that point it's hardly the killers fault that the other survivors were too lazy and stupid to get their teammate out.
One other thing, once this change is implemented ALL anti-camping perks are removed from the game.
Say they tested your idea how are you going to buff killers like hag, trapper and a few others that there whole playstyle is based on setting up a web of traps around a 3 gen and hooking a survivor inside the 3 gen so they can patrol the gens plus the hooked survivor or will the hooked survivor get moved across the map allowing them to be healed fully before they come back to try and finish a gen?

This is categorically false. I've been watching hardcore survivor and haven't seen a single hard camping killer. I also don't see them when I play.
Same when I've played survivor i don't see it and even a streamer I mod for her stream last night she didn't run into any killers that were camping or tunneling if anything most of the survivors got out in most of the matches.

So because a minority of players will be dicks regardless, we shouldn't even try to disincentivise camping and tunneling?
They are not saying we shouldn't try to come up with a way to combat camping and tunneling just that no matter what gets put in place some players will still camp and tunnel because that's just how they want to play, so when the time comes and things are put in place to combat camping and tunneling survivors have to face the fact at some point that some players out there that will be dicks and camp and tunnel and they will have to take the L and move on to the next match. It will suck for the survivor but there is nothing more they can do if things are put in place to combat camping and tunneling.

But no matter what BHVR does some killers are going to camp and tunnel. No matter what you tell them to do or changes to make it will still happen. People wanted BT to be basekit to stop tunneling/camping. It still happened. Whatever they come with next it'll still happen. It won't ever stop. Just take the L and move on or hope you have a somewhat decent team to help.
Pretty much they could put in 10 things to stop camping and tunneling but at the end of the day if the killer wants to camp and tunnel they will even if it means they get zero BP, the best outcome they can try to get is if a killer is camping they can't down more then one person to give survivors a chance. So even if its Bubba after he hits one survivor his chainsaw will stop along the other survivors to get away and if the hooked survivor took the hit with BT then both should get away.

On the next game I could. I don't know why sometimes it doesn't work. (Only when I "need" it, it seems ^_^)
if they have a globe over there name you won't be able to get steam id, i would keep a eye out and if you can't click on view profile see if they have the globe and if they do that's why hope this helps.
-
@drsoontm said:
That makes it quite awkward to report a player ...
Or don't we need the steamid anymore?
Depends on what platform they were playing if you and the killer were on steam then you should be able to get there steam id if they are on another platform then you won't be able to as you can't see the killers profile.

17 people found my thread useful. See upvote counter. Nobody finds any of your complains useful. It's time for you to move on my guy. This is my last reply to you.
LMAO prob all survivor mains that only look at things from the survivor point of view and shows how much you read my msg as i wasn't complaining i was pointing out flaws with what you were posting and not once were you able to come back with a answer for any of my questions, grats you camped with a stealth killer that can mark survivors and 1 shot them would you like a medal thats just as easy as camping with bubba but yet you weren't willing to do it again with a killer that's not a stealth one, funny how you didn't want to step up to the plate when called out for using a killer that can camp well, wait 5 min and ill camp with myers to prove the same thing then ill do the same with freddy and get 2 different results because 1 of them is not a stealth killer and can't one shot. But for some reason you can't seem to understand that just cause one killer can camp well doesn't mean other's can.
But hey camping is not going away anytime soon so survivor mains can upvote as much as they want and guess what killers will still camp but at least players with skill can pull of camping using harder killers, so you stick to the easy path while the rest of us try to show why camping is a problem all round and not just with some killers, i really do hope one day you understand if you want things to change like camping you need to show how easy it is to do with non camping killers like Freddy and not ones like Bubba or ghost face.

This. I think the thing that annoys me is people saying things to this idea and others ‘No this won’t work because it’ll be too easy for survivors” as if all ideas are final and a vacuum that other changes can’t happen alongside or in time, that everything has to be fixed RIGHT NOW!!!
Because they have learnt from the past that if they drop a nerf or a change to one side and its a major one and it favor's the other side big time that it puts them even deeper in a hole, perfect example is mori's killers knew that it was coming but got no warning or heads up on the day they were going to change them they just did it, because they didn't do keys at the same time a LOT of survivors started to bring keys into every match knowing that keys will be changed at some point.
They can't just rush out a fix for camping and a lot of ideas people come up with just favor's survivors and when people try to point out why it won't work and the problems with it or even that they have tested stuff like this some people just don't want to listen and only read what they want to.

They should just make hooks akin to pyramid head's cages and be done with it, unless it's basement. I'm so sick of it.
On the "strategy" aspect, yes sometimes it is very helpful to tunnel someone out, but I've experienced it enough at 5 gens to know most people just do it for an easy win.
But you can't do that with out nerfing some killers into the ground big time i.e hag she has to build a web of traps and most times it's set up around 3 gen setup, doing what you suggested would make her even weaker then she is, she hooks someone in the 3 gen setup and web setup and survivor gets put to other side of map with hag its no point going over there once they unhook the survivor as she is weak in chase so she can't really leave her setup so that allows the survivors to reset then come back and try and get a gen done.
If it's another killer and you start a chase and they run to the cage/hook then the killer is forced with two options keep going with chase but caged survivors moves to other side of map where another can unhook them and then you still need to down that person, the other choice is to drop chase and let them get the save the killers hand are tied with that idea and are forced into a no win situation.

"Camping for ez kills therefore means skill... right? Illustration of very "skilled" play." you used a stealth killer pick a harder killer to camp with next time.
"Exactly! That's my point. It's stupid easy to camp solo survivors with stealth killer. And it should not be. Yes, it's a waste of time for survivors and again, it should not be. Hence, once again, I'm saying that solo needs ability to share information." your point and post would of stood out more and got more discussion if you didn't use a easy killer to camp with.
"Stealth killers can camp solos for 4k with no effort. Do you believe it's fine that the game allows that cheap "strategy" for wins that frustrate survivors into DC or do you think it needs changes? That's the whole point of the post." camping as a whole needs to change anyone can pick a easy killer and camp people on the hook hell just use bubba but wait make sure to post a image of your DC and kills to let everyone know that it's not right and Bubba needs to change how he camps (even though you know everyone knows Bubba is the best camper).
"The purpose of the post is to prompt discussion: here is what we have -> I don't think it's fair -> it needs to be changes." you used a stealth killer to prove camping with a stealth killer is not fair instead of trying to do it with a harder killer.
You made a thread and about how easy it is to camp with GF (which pretty much everyone knows) at that point it was open for discussion but the result you got wasn't what you wanted, people called you out for using a stealth killer and you don't seem to see the problem with that and how stealth killers are good at camping and why people are saying to do it again with a killer that is hard to camp with.
I'm open to talk about camping and how it needs to change and talk about ideas that might work but using a stealth killer is not the best way to show how bad camping is.

Here is what we have _> already know about it _> survivors DC nothing new_> nothing new that the devs, balance team and player base doesn't know about already_> new info would be better then something we all know about already and in your own words "But that is exactly what I was trying to illustrate.
Stealth killers can camp solos for 4k with no effort" everyone knows stealth killers can do that. does that sum it up for you all you did was show us what we all know already and not bring any new helpful information that can help with camping, its like me camping with Insidious Bubba then making a post i tried camping with Insidious Bubba it brings no helpful information or anything new that everyone doesn't know about already.
Where as if i did it with the Nemesis and not using Insidious then that would bring new info to the table and show that with Nemesis its easy to camp for the 4k.

We all know that stealth killers can camp well, also bubba, hag, basement trapper, DR nearly everyone knows which killers can camp well and which ones don't, showing you had a match as GF and camped isn't showing anything new that we don't already know and add on top of that survivors DC just because a killer looked at them, killing themselves on hook because they don't like how the killer beat them and got them on hook.
Showing a game where you played a killer that can't camp well but you were still able to get the same results would mean a LOT more then showing a game with a killer that can camp easy that just shows nothing new apart from survivors DC and screwing over the rest of the team.

If Gates regressed, survivors would just open it (direct buff to Blood warden), and Killer still camp hook. Since the hook is the only thing Killer needs to look to. Point is to give something for Killer to leave hook that can be more benefit than staying.
Which at end game there is not really much left and if i was a survivor and it was a close match and we are all on death hook having a gen go back down to 90% would be bad and give the killer more chances to get more then 1k because he could kick the gen the furthest from the gates.

@C3Tooth said:

There must be some other mechanic that Killer may prefer not to camp in end game, perhaps Killer is able to kick completed Gen (once per match) instantly down to 90%, no further regress, then the Gates de-powered.
It will makes 99 Gate much more risk, and Killers have something else to do
As much as that might come in handy it feels like a cheap shot at survivors after all the work they did, if anything make it so they can't 99 the gates if they don't open it then it start to regress, which might help end game camping and also force survivors to pick when to open the gates making it a bit of a challenge for both sides.

This "it's a horror game so killers should be the power role"-argument has always been complete nonsense. It's a pvp game were both sides should equally be able to win and no one would play it if it was like a horror movie simulator were survivors are running away and try to escape but in the end they all die except maybe the main character. Not all Dbd players are horror movie fanatics and masochists who are into getting killed every match.
That's were your wrong if its a pvp game where are my other 3 teammates when im the killer to make it 4vs4 16 perks on each side but its not it's 1 vs 4, 4 perks vs 16 perks so that 1 needs to be able to keep up with the 4 plus be a bit stronger as the 4 can work as a team hence the killer should be the power role, DBD is a Asymmetrical game not pvp and the killer needs to be stronger it some parts as they are limited in other parts i.e 4 perks vs 16 perks not 4 perks vs 4 perks its not a 1 v1 game its 1 vs 4 if those 4 don't work as a team that's on them.
In terms of winning 2 kills and 2 escapes to me is a draw if the killer gets more kills then 2 they won if more then 2 survivors get out then they won, its not about if people are into getting killed each match it's just how the game is by design, it should be a challenge for survivors to escape but not impossible and it should be a challenge for killers to get 4 kills and 8-12 hook states (not even bringing camping into this the killer never camped) but to do that the killer needs to be a bit stronger because they are facing 4 survivors, 16 perks, 4 items and offerings.

What I'm not understanding in your scenario is, did you cage the survivor? Because if you cage them then it automatically ports him to another spot. So at that point you don't have a choice anymore. And if you give chase and their teammates leads you to their cage, that isn't your fault. You can down them both, or chase the teammate, or chase the survivor he just saved. All viable and reasonable options.
What they are trying to say is if a killer gives chase to someone and they lead them to the cage soon as the killer gets close to it then it ports to a new spot on the map, so the killer has 2 options drop chase giving them a free unhook or keep chasing and cage ports for another survivor to get the unhook and you might still not down the survivor you were chasing. The survivor is in full control but yet the killer got punished as if they were camping just because a teammate lead them to the cage.
So using your idea survivors could lead a chase to a hook to get it to port to another spot for someone to get the unhook while the killer is busy in a chase the killers hands are tied they can not do much at that point apart from drop chase or keep going and have cage port giving another survivor the chance to unhook.

I don't understand what the abuse there is? I mean if you continue to chase them and don't back off, they don't get the rescue and you get a second survivor down, so what's the abuse? Because remember it's not camping if they lead u to the cage, it's their own fault. So at that point its 100% on them.
But we all know that there will be survivors that will still call that camping they do that now when they lead a killer right back to the hook during a chase and not away from it.

The killer has always been the power role. But if you're talking about balance, it hasn't been survivor sided in a very long time.
After CoH's release, kill rates were around 55%. Before CoH, the kill rates averaged around 67%. In both of these scenarios, the forums held an unshakeable mentality where the game's survivor sided. But 'forum killers' have always refused to consider their own skill in the equation.
Killers win? Survivors bad. Survivors win? Killers UP.
The game's survivor sided, because look at tournament level play!
The game's not killer sided, Otz getting consistent wins on every single killer without any perks or add-ons and with the first 30 seconds spent AFK is not an indicator because Otz plays this game for a living and is way too high level a killer.
The game has been varying degrees of killer sided for years, killers just aren't as good as they think they are, and/or just aren't having fun and are confusing that for unbalanced gameplay.
That same logic can also be used for survivors this update dropped and all meta survivor perks got changed and the games unfun and killer sided, survivors just aren't as good as they think they are and those perks made them better then the level they were at.
I gave 2 examples which were very survivor sided even if we just look at mori's when that changed happened you can not say that was killer sided, that was a pure survivor sided change otherwise the devs would of changed keys at the same time.
This game has the habit of one update being killer sided then the next one survivor sided and people forget what the last one was and which side had to suffer after that update, when CoH dropped killers had to suffer with that for a while and not just that it was strong but the only real counter was to kill the survivor running the perk as you just put it out you didn't break the totem.
People can go back and forth listing each change a side got be it a nerf or a buff and how the other side might of had to suffer or have unfun experience until problems got fixed, the update has been out a week which is not enough time for them to fix or adjust stuff as they need more data and stats to show what needs to be addressed.

That's not actually addressing camping though, that's addressing having the ability to teleport back to hook. Because each one of those killers can still face camp without a problem. And with my solution they wouldn't really be able to. Let's say you're playing a dredge right, with COA cage it will land most of the time far enough away from lockers to where even if he did somehow guess where it would be, there's still only a 50/50 shot that he beats 1 other survivor there. And if he does that's entirely that survivors fault. So if camping does exist in that scenario you can't say "oh the killer camped me it's his fault", you can only say "the other survivors didn't play it right".
Doing it that way pretty much allows survivors to reset if they 3 gen themselves or if killers set the 3 gen up killer has to pick let them reset or try and guess and let the survivors do the gens both screw over the killer be it survivors fault they 3 gen themselves or if the killer set it up because they are playing hag and also doing it that way they will have to remove BT as basekit.
And most of those killers are just M1 killers so even if they camp they have to go for a grab, same as DR he can't shock you to prevent you getting the unhook so he has to time the grab right, GF and myers can no longer 1 shot people around hooks so its back to grabs or they do a attack. You will never be able to get rid of camping as there will always be people that camp just cause they want to the best way is to limit killers powers around the hooked survivor like drege turning them into a M1 killer which they have to go for the grab or attack but they can't down a survivor in one hit anymore and if you get the unhook better odds of both of you getting out if the hooked survivor takes the hit with BT.
Parts of the game are meant to be a challenge to survivors but not impossible say they do the way im thinking then it will be a challenge to get both people out but it's not impossible, if people think camping is bad in this game go play F13th where there is no hook states once your caught by Jason your pretty much dead and he has better tracking then DBD, better ways to get around the map and even better stealth in a way and once he has rage its pretty much game over as only 3 things stun him at that point rest of the weapons do nothing.

Knowing people, I dont think increase repair speed is a way to solve camping. Some players just play for a single purpose of ruining somone's day, purposely target them and make their game unfun as possible.
The only way is to remove the camping completely.
Spot on even with bloodpoints the ones that camp won't care if they get no bloodpoints, camping can still be in the game they just have to make it not be so effective like it is now as there is times you do need to camp you have a 3 gen and a hooked survivor in the middle i don't think any killer will leave unless they have to, EGC its fair game at that point one way or another the match is ending soon.

There is no other fix that will work better, but I welcome you to think of one that even comes remotely close to being as efficient at stopping camping dead in its tracks, without breaking the game and making it unplayable.
They take the time to address each killer and how there power works around hooks and give them the same treatment as drege i.e hag, trapper, demo and freddy so far out from the hook is blocked off so if a gen is next to a hook freddy can't teleport to it, hag can't put traps down within say 10 meters of hook same as trapper and demo, DR powers are blocked if so close to a hooked survivor both static and blast, killers like ghost face and myers can't stalk survivors when they are so close to a hooked survivor so no more 99% then 1 shotting survivors and endgame is fair game so killers can camp at that point.
That's just of the top of my head people that don't camp with those killers won't notice the difference, killers that do will camping will no longer work as well as it does now, it will take them time but if they get it right it will fix the problem once and for all and no one can really say they got camped at 5 gens because at that point survivors will be able to get the save.

all of that is cool and all, but what does that really mean if A LOT of the player base are complaining and uninstalling the game dude? yeah the meta can change sure, but at what cost? its NOT FUN anymore for most people.
The first sign that killers might be the power role and survivors have to work to escape and they quit, but survivors were very happy to run old DS+UB+DH for how many years and lets not forget the classic i used my DS at 55 sec after spend 45sec on a gen the killer was tunneling me, lets not bring up the mori nerf and how killers had to sit though lobby after lobby of people bringing in keys but i guess it was killer sided back then and getting out the hatch with 2-3 gens left was fair.

There are some complications, but none that are so bad that killers won't have a huge problem camping. Like I'm sure there will be a tryhard that finds a way to get there fast, but not enough to where the survivor won't be able to be saved 99% of the time first. And I'll take those statistics over the ones we have right now anyday of the week.
I would rather them spend the time and put a good fix to camping that solves all the problems then push something out where one side or the other will abuse it and we have seen with dredge that they can block powers around hooks, but that's just me and i play 90% killer and i want a good fix to camping not a rushed job cause if they rush it then it will come out bad when nearly everyone would like to see camping fixed so it can't be abused, can be used at the right time and both sides come out even with it.

Rush over where? You can't see where cage comes out, that's part of how it works.
Take Freddy you could take a good guess where it will come out and teleport to a gen then look for it as most times it spawns on the other side of the map that's just what i've seen by playing survivor and killer, then the other part is your making killers like hag, trapper pay because they are best played by setting up a 3 gen,
His not letting his friend die for the time he spends with the killer the 10% buff could make up for him being on a gen solo then having to stop part way to come for the save, the devs have tried stuff like that and it resulted in the same thing survivors found a way to abuse it which is why it never went any further.
Take nurse she could just wait outside the range and then blink in when she sees a survivor going for the save, freddy could do the same and teleport to a gen, demo portal, DR could save his blast and check it towards end of first stage so it's not just survivors but killers can find a way around it and still camp.

I told them about changing the hooks to act like cage of atonement and removing anti-camping perks from the game, but they haven't done it yet. Plus I imagine its much harder to do that than to just make a 10% gen debuff via proximity.
Changing hooks to act like cages won't really change much as the killer will just rush over there and camp and what happens when the killer sets up a 3 gen and hooks someone in the middle, some killers the best way to play them is to set up a 3 gen at the start i.e hag if the hooked survivor got moved to other side of map it takes away a lot of pressure from a 3 gen.
Survivors will just abuse that they will wait run in then run out and keep doing that as much as they can to try and force the killer to go within the range to get the buff while leaving the survivor on the hook as long as they can before they have to do the rescue to stop them hitting 2nd stage.

And this goes especially to killers. The survivor side has such a big change. Nearly every meta perks were nerfed, you need longer for a gen, Thanatophobia has more impact now, Pain Resonance is still good, Overcharge has much more impact than before, they changed the enduring/deep wound so you can't take 2 hits (Yea, with Mettle of man is it possible, but how many times this will gonna happen. We can all agree that it shouldn't be that much).
In my last few games (Should be 17-20 games since the newest patch) I got 4 killers who play normally. The rest were only toxic, were tunneling, were facecamping, toxic in the endgame chat.. For no reason. No gen rush, no toxic looping or toxic behaviour.
It's only frustrating to play survivor. I play killer too and I only noticed that survivor are trying out something new. I played 10 matches and there wasn't such a big toxicity. (Yea, just 10 games, but 40 other player. This should be included). I know it's an unpopular opinion, but Dead Hard is still good. More situational, but still useable if you time it correctly. And you gain more distance. I still get value of DH. With DS too, but only just because the killers are tunneling harder than before. But Iron Will isn't useable anymore, I agree with that.
I just hope this will change until the next chapter. Just because of some changes that everyone evolves into tunneler and facecampers, more than before the patch. It has reached a new lowpoint
Survivors do the same thing to killers when they get a change that is more favored towards them, a perfect example is the mori nerf killers knew it was coming but got no warning when they planned to change it they just went and changed it, after that survivors knew keys would be next at some point and can you guess what happened killers started seeing keys left, right and center along with where the hatch would spawn offering.
Not all but a lot of survivors used that chance to be toxic towards killers and the fix they gave killers after a while was a change to franklins until they changed keys and hatch, so it goes both ways when it comes to changes in the game be it killer or survivor you will always get some players that will go out of there way to be toxic and not care for the other side.

People here say it's legit strategy. BHVR says it's like hockey. Okay, sounds fair...
I'm sure those solo survivors loved the "legit strategy". Game lasted less than 2 minutes. 2 DCed when they realized they are not comin g out of basement.
Now the question is: will BHVR give solos basic communication tools and make it into more fair and enjoyable game or will it be always that easy to camp a win in this hockey game?
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/K8AQ1ZEFK84C/camping.jpg
Now do the same thing again but not using a stealth killer to hide your terror radius or equipping Insidious then people might take your post more serious, camping in the basement using any of those two things is going to be easy even more if your facing all solo players. I can bet the results will be different as survivors will hear your terror radius and not come down, putting a post up about camping while using any of those two is not the best example when try to get a change all you did was show us all what we know already that stealth killers can camp well.

The fastest and most efficient way to stop killers from camping(or at least being able to camp effectively) is to make a debuff that if a killer goes within 20 meters of the hook after 5 seconds of the person being on it the gen speed increases by 10%. That's all. That's literally the difference between a guaranteed 2k and, 1k with 3 people escaping. I should add this debuff deactivates if another survivor is within the same range.
They can't just change camping as a whole as someone said the devs have said it's a valid strategy, it's going to take something that can't be abused by survivors, not needing survivors to equip a perk but also make it so if a killer has no choice but to camp i.e endgame it will be a challenge for survivors to get the save but not impossible.
The only way i can think of that they can fix camping is by looking at the killers that can camp well i.e bubba and ones that can't and the ones that can they need to adjust how there power works around the hook, so for bubba i.e if he is to close to a hook then his chainsaw can only injure and stops after 1 hit this will allow for survivors to try and get the save it will be a challenge for everyone to walk away and worst case he gets a hook trade, something like that won't affect players that don't camp with bubba but the players that camp on first hook it will affect.
Then they move onto the next killer and see what they can try and change to get the same outcome best case everyone gets away, worst case hook trade and by looking at it from that point of view it will be more easy to adjust camping to affect the ones that do it at 1 hook to killers that don't camp.

That's all good and well, but we have hit a point where survivors would rather give up than play. And instead of asking why people are giving up people on here are calling them whiners and that they are just throwing hissy fits. Let's not forget the people whining right now make up the majority of the player base (soloQ survivors). Would be a shame if we all just stopped playing and killers had 20 minute killer ques... oh wait.
They have hit this point on both sides in the past when ruin ,PGtW, undying got nerfed killers stopped playing and did the same thing survivors are doing they came to the forum to voice there view on the changes guess what survivors were calling them whiners and that they are just throwing hissy fits.. Take the mori nerf that happened with no warning killers were pissed that mori got nerfed with no warning and keys got left alone and survivors knew to start using keys before they got nerfed.
Killers need survivors to play and survivors need killers to play and a lot of people will have the mindset of us vs them, without thinking how the other side is or seeing how bad it is by playing it, If people started to drop the us vs them and tried working as one things would be a lot better.

I don't know if you have had the pleasure to play against some slowdown, regression, or save the best for last. But that's just a short list of unfun things that exist right now.
Both sides have had the pleasure of playing against unfun thing i.e old DS+UB 1 min of you can't touch me, COH when that first dropped it's not just survivors killers have had to deal with things in the past and i'm sure in the future both sides will. Be it bugs, perks, maps and patch's 1 side will seem like it got the short end of the stick then next patch it's the other side.

A clear way to really punish camping and tunnelling (as promised)
Solo survivors better communication and buffs
gens back at 80 seconds
COH removed or nerfed into oblivion
There is no simple fix they can do to fix camping/tunnelling if a player wants to camp they will camp and nothing will change that, i said this on another topic the best way for them to fix camping is to look at each killer and how well they can camp and adjust from there,.
Take Bubba prob best killer to camp with i would change it so when he is so close to a hooked survivor his chainsaw can only hit 1 person and can only injure not be a 1 shot into dying state, then you look at Freddy not the best to camp with so he might not need any changes and gets left alone, least this way they are fixing camping but on a level that won't nerf some killers even more but the ones that can camp well will get the nerf/change.
Yes solo survivors do need some way to communicate with over survivors be it icons or a ping that you use to let them know what your doing, as a survivor it's meant to be a challenge to escape but not impossible that also goes for killers it's meant to be a challenge to kill all the survivors but not impossible and players seem to have forgotten that.
Gens are fine atm the devs need time to see what needs changed be it a buff or a nerf if kill rates get to high and not enough survivors are escaping and not many gens are getting done than they can look at putting gens back to 80, If survivors really want that to happen they need to stop killing themselves on first hook cause that's not going to show them whet they need to see.
COH just needs to be adjusted but its the same thing they need time to see how it affects the game, if its to strong then killers need to wait it out till the change comes. i play 90% killer but i play for fun i get my hooks then mess around and have fun even sometimes with the survivors and yet i agree with you but they just need to look at things from a different angle. Same as survivors when thinking of ways to fix camping try not to look at as that it needs 1 nerf, see if you can look at it at a different angle and what you come up with.

When can we finally get over the idea that survivors should have the tools to ‘prevent’ camping and tunnelling?
Things like BT, DS and OtR are great and all, but they don’t prevent camping and tunnelling, they merely aggravate the killers that do. That’s not a counter or a preventative measure, it’s an aggressive arms race. Who can wield the bigger stick?
They don’t stop tunnelling, because as soon as a killer is hit with one of them, they know that they’ve now eliminated that counter, and are free to tunnel that survivor without risk. And they certainly don’t do anything to prevent camping.
You know what things do prevent camping and tunnelling? Killer Perks
Devour Hope, Make Your Choice, BBQ & Chili, Ruin, Floods of Rage, Gift of Pain, the old Pain Resonance.
These perks legitimately prevent camping and tunnelling, because in order to utilise them, you cannot camp or tunnel. Yet three of them were just nerfed. (although credit where it's due; thumbs up for Gift of Pain)
These perks should be buffed, and we should get more perks like these, effective (read: meta) killer perks that when utilised correctly, drive the killer away from the hook and away from recently unhooked survivors.
Ruin: In order to capitalise on the regression from Ruin, you need to pressure gens, that means you need to leave the hook. While survivors complained about Ruin and it had a high pick rate, this perk was healthy for the game, it got the killer away from the hook, it got survivors looking for totems. This perk was over-nerfed. Now the killswitch on the perk after a survivor is eliminated is not a terrible idea, but this didn’t also need to have it’s potency nerfed at the same time.
BBQ: Separating the BP bonus from the perk is great, but this perk needs to maintain it’s incentive to spread hooks among the different survivors. It still works great as an anti-camping perk, but it’s lost it’s anti-tunnel trait. It needs to gain something from hooking each survivor once. Perhaps each time you hook a unique survivor, it grants a speed boost for a short time.
Pain Resonance: Yes, this perk used to do a lot all by itself, but it's a high-cost perk. It requires a specific circumstance (scourge hooks aren’t guaranteed, and can now be easily sabotaged) and it only affected one single generator. Moreover, with the increase to gen times, this much slowdown is no longer as necessary. You nerfed the wrong part. You should have reduced the amount of regression inflicted to perhaps 10%, and removed the scream that notified you if a survivor was on the gen and triggered DMS. But it NEEDS the loud noise notification. Without this information, the killer does not know where to go to pressure gens, and has no reason to leave the hook.
The changes to these perks alone will have resulted in a marked increase in camping and tunnelling, especially as there is less pressure on the killer to defend gens now due to the increase in repair times.
Meanwhile…
Thanatophobia: Completely unnecessary buff. The increase to gen times alone is already compounded by the percentage slowdown this perk provides. This would have been perfectly fine at 5% per stack, maybe even at 4%. This is currently leading to a psychological aversion to generators among survivors, which is far more problematic than any singular buff to killers. Survivors simply aren't doing gens when they see this perk, they're giving up.
No matter what changes they do or what perks they adjust in the end killers that just want to camp will camp no matter what change is put in place same with tunnelling, the players that just want to play this way will for me i would look more at the survivor that is camped then the killer, if a survivor is camped out of the game change it so they safety pipped and not lose one they could even add a new BP category so they also walk away with some BP.
Where as now if a survivor is camped out of the game early they depip and get next to no BP if they change those problems it will still suck to be camped at the start but at least you know you will safety pip and get BP.

Temporary Solutions for Camping, Tunneling, and the Solo Survivor v Survive with Friends Gap
Lengthy discussions are often ignored; as such the purpose, detailed reasoning, and explanations of individual changes will be kept to a minimum for the sake of brevity. Moving on, Camping, tunneling, and the ever growing gap between solo survivor (SS) and survive with friends (SWF) game-play are notable sources of frustration in Dead by Daylight; the following changes are intending to address these annoyances with temporary, but quickly applicable solutions.
Having said that, camping as well as the gap between SS and SWF can be neatly handled together. The first action will be pausing the entity progression of a hooked survivor if a killer is within sixteen meters of the hook (disabled if: the exit gates are powered, the killer enters chase, or another survivor enters the range). Additionally, if a survivor is on hook, all survivors auras become revealed to all survivors. Tunneling can be dealt with by applying a short (perhaps twenty second) grace period where after being unhooked, being picked up by the killer will result in a four second stun (disabled if: the exit gates are powered or performing a Conspicuous Action).
They only really need to look at a few killers that can camp well and adjust how there power works around hooks, take bubba if he is to close to a hooked survivor his chainsaw will only hit one person then have him go into the rage like when you hit a locker, this allows one if not both survivors to get away if you hit the person with borrowed time both will prob get away if you hit the one that did the unhook then hooked survivor will get away.
We know they can address killer powers around hooks take dredge the lockers around a hocked survivor are blocked and you can't teleport to them and wait, its just a matter at looking at which killers can camp well and how they can adjust killers power to only allow them to put one survivor into dying state.
-
It's killers like this that give's every other killer a bad name, so when a survivor loads into a match they think the worse about the killer right off the bat even if the killer is trying to be nice for whatever reason survivors will not trust them.
I play prob 90% killer but i just play for fun, the chases in the game and anything funny that me and the survivors come up with during a match, @Pulsar is right they need to fix that killers will camp but there is always a chance to get the unhook and escape but with Bubba survivors hace zero chance of getting the save. The devs really need to look into this and find a way too fix Bubba so he can't camp like he can now i.e when so close to a hook his chainsaw will only down 1 person then stop, but something has to change with him.

Sry but if killers need 20 minutes games and 2 minutes chases every time to get a 4k then this is not skill. Many killers did fine before. Either give us strong anti camp and tunnel mechanics so the killer is FORCED to go for 12 hooks or revert some of the changes, especially the training wheels like bloodlust or the forever m1 perks
And a lot of skill went into pushing 1 button to undo survivor mistakes and for them to gain distance, but it is funny how a lot of people are overreacting to this update its only been out short time and people are complaining about buffs/nerfs, take bloodlust it's been in the game for ages but now its a problem because they made the timer a bit shorter to get it.
If survivors want killers to go for more hooks/chases to get kills then something had to be done to slow down how fast gens were getting done and how long it could take a killer to down a survivor, there will always be people that camp and tunnel no matter what changes the devs do to try and fix it. Give the devs some time to get some real data and feedback with the changes to see what they will adjust, if survivors really want changes then they need to play the match not DC or kill them selves on hook it might suck but killers have had to do the same thing i.e DS killers had to deal with it for ages until it got changed to a good spot.

Let me guess, survivors should fear you and respect the power role right?
You are big bad scary killer, how dare survivors having chance
you are right survivors should fear and respect killers as they are meant to be the power role in the game not survivors but yet how long has survivors been the power role for?, people need to calm down about this update instead of running to the forums to have a cry about something, yes the devs changed a lot of things and made killers more of a threat now the next move is to leave these changes for i.e couple months then adjust what needs to change.
They can get feed back from the PTB but not everyone can play the PTB and people don't take it serious in the PTB, but once it hits live servers that's when they can really get good feedback because people play the match serious.
Survivors do have a chance but they also have to remember it's a 1 vs 4 and the odds are better for the 4 survivors when they work as a team, which is what solo q really needs is a way to work as a team be it action symbols showing what your doing or a ping system they need something.

Solo survivor game. Instant DC, down to a 3 man. 2nd survivor gives up on hook. 3rd has been hooked twice and is in chase again. To this point I’ve made saves, did 1 gen and been a good survivor. The killer slugs the 3rd survivor and looks for me. I hide. The game is hopeless and I’m not dying for this other survivor who I don’t know and has played terribly. I’m hoping for at least a chance at hatch. The killer gets the survivor to turn traitor and work with him to find me. I have empathy so I can see where she leads him and move away. The game lasts about 15 more minutes like this. In the end I died, he let her crawl out.
This is the garbage that just eats me up about this game. Survivors can’t quit in terrible situations so they are forced to tolerate this sort of play. If quitting was allowed the 3rd survivor might have just quit when she was downed and avoided this. Or the others might have quit early, like they did, and then we both might have just quit rather than waste time on an unfair game.
Instead, this situation brings out the worst in both the survivor and the killer.
You can't really blame the killer for what happened you need to blame the two teammates that screwed you and the other survivor over and not just you two but the killer to, yes the killer could off played nice and let you both go for getting screwed over but killers shouldn't be forced to do that or feel like they have to. Letting players quit in a unfair game is not the way to go because people will quit over the smallest things, the best thing the devs could try is have AI take over a dc body and can do basic things like repair gens but it's not a easy task to find a way to fix these problems without screwing over the people that stayed in the match.

Killers are at fault for camping and tunneling.
Are you gonna tell me a facecamping killer didnt have a chance to walk away? I'm sure that's why they already had insidious in their kit wasnt it?
The OP said nothing about face camping or tunneling except lets blame them and i said nothing about facecamping or tunneling but you keep coming back to it, yes some killers will face camp and tunnel but this post is about survivors unhooking in front of killers before they even have a chance to walk away then complains and blame the killer for hooking them again and not the teammate that made the wrong choice.
-
@Marigoria said:
We can blame both. People who farm you from the hook and the killers that are still tunneling and camping.
The killer is no way at fault here if survivors rush the hook and unhook someone in the killers face before they even have a chance to walk away sorry but your going to pay for your teammates choice of actions, why couldn't your teammate wait 10 sec to unhook you giving the killer time to get away from the hook. If your teammate unhooks you in front off the killer start blaming your teammates not the killer yes the killer can be nice and let you go but then survivors will never learn to wait to unhook.

It's weird how such a big company with so much money doesn't have a dedicated QA team that actually works.
They probably do have a QA team but like any other game they might not find bugs or problems with the patch cause there might only be 10 people testing it, but when it comes out you have thousand's of people testing it and that is when bugs or problems will show.
One game i know that when it came out in early access you couldn't load into a match and they had to push out a fix in the first few hours of it, yet before it came out the bug never showed and i was one of the people that was playing the Beta version of it and had no problem loading in to a match. So people need to keep that in mind what i.e 10 people don't find when 20 thousand+ people play they will find things.

You want the game to win for you, I want to win my games. That's the difference between you and me.
I said nothing about winning be it survivor or killer just that the killer is meant to be the power role in the game, if you take away all the perks, items, addons and offerings and have 1 killer vs 4 survivors the killer should be the power role in that match and the survivors have to work as a team to get out.
The game can only do so much they make a killer i.e ghost face and give it a power after that its up to the player if they win or lose, before this update a lot of perks were to strong on both sides and because of that some of the perks carried people to a win now its coming back to your skill level.
Everybody wants to win there games/matches but sometimes thats not going to happen and you will lose. did you complain before this patch about some of the OP perks for survivors and the game pretty much letting you win no matter how hard killers tried?

Because this was the bad killers patch. The kind of killers who want "to be the power role" and "be respected and feared", without actually deserving any power role, respect, or fear.
Back in 2016-17-18-19, when killers were not nearly as powerful as they are now compared to much more powerful survivors, you were taught fear and respect by actually good killers who just outplayed you. That's when you respected them.
For a while now though and especially after this last patch, killers are a joke. The game is forcing a win for them, they don't achieve anything. So at this point it's just hard to tell who's good and who's not good.
This is looking more and more like a cutscene rather than an online PvP game.
killers are meant to be the power role in these types of games as your facing 4 survivors not 1 in other games it was 1v8, survivors have to learn to work as a team to outplay the killer. Soon as survivors can't bully the killers any more they get upset and quit, take F13th when they changed Jason rage so you could no longer stun him apart from a few things survivors got upset big time because the couldn't bully Jason for 20 min.
Survivors should have a good chance to escape with perks and working as a team but in the end the killer is the power role and if survivors can't work as a team even with good perks the killer should win. people need to stop this 1v1 thinking of this game its 1v4 if your other 3 teammates are bad and you lose tough luck but that's not the killers fault you had weak teammates.

Many survivors don't say anything at all no matter what you do. I facecamped and tunneled as bubba and got nothing I wanted some salt... But some survivors say bad things when I played with my friend as survivors our teammate was sacrificed at the endgame and he blamed my friend and started to spawn on his profile that he should let him kill him in real life.
When it gets to that point of someone putting stuff like that on someones profile then there ass needs to be reported.

No need to be sorry but to answer your question survivors will always be survivors (not all of them, i have run into a few chilled players) if they lose they will insult you if you lose and they all get out same thing.
If need be turn off the chat window so you don't have to put up with the insults. if they are to bad i.e they turn them into racist comments then you can report them for it. Otherwise just leave the end screen and move onto the next match and hope you get better players.

Unfortunately the only people who defend nurse in her current state are nurse mains who want to keep their OP toy, and people at a lower MMR who don't go up against a nurse who can use her kit effectively.
The former group would defend nurse even if she could insta-down on a single hit. The latter group hasn't met the kind of nurse who breaks the game. Can't reason with the first group.
I play killer and i pretty much haven't touched nurse at all even dailys i tend to skip nurse ones but i think she is fine, survivors just need to learn how to counter her yes you will get god tier nurse mains i think Superalf is one off the people that really know how to play nurse on a god tier lvl.
Survivors really need to stop complaining about every small little thing be it a new killer they don't know how to loop, heal teammate they just unhooked under the hook and then wonder why killers come back and put that same person on the hook again, a lot off complaints survivors make are just them making mistakes and trying to pass the blame on, when i play survivor i make mistakes even though i have played the killer im facing a lot i still mess up.
The killer is meant to be the power role of the game and yet survivors are what makes it worse is some killers survivors can take away there power by bringing a item in i.e hag.
