On PC, it's definitely Feng. Technician is like training wheels for working on gens, Alert is great, regular information, and Lithe is a solid chase perk.
Zarina is a solid meh. Red Herring takes too much wasting of your own time to have a positive impact, and the situations where you want it are few and far between, over just working on a gen. Off the Record is nice, but it doesn't really have a good effect if killers are coming back to the hook anyway. For the people is certainly not for noobs.
Jeff is average. Breakdown is rarely valuable. Aftercare is outclassed by Bond or Empathy. Distortion is too few uses to be used outside of specific builds.
Kate is 50/50. I love Dance With Me, and have had many times where it's single-handedly won me chases, great synergy with vaulting perks. WoO is terrible. Boil Over is terrible.
Jane is alright. Poised is situational, and largely relies on gens going off at good times which you can't really control. Head On is a VERY powerful perk with very little counterplay, but you also run the risk of irritating the killer and having them focus you more than basically any other exhaustion perk. Solidarity is a nice time-saver, but there's plenty of other healing options.
Overall I'd probably vote Kate, but it'd definitely between her and Jane.

I mean. They can always change the mechanic of how RBT's to be a better stall tool. Look how many new and reworked perks are now affected by the entity. You know what? I think when it comes to pig update, if the killer will interput the survivor with RBT when he's looking for the key in jigsaw boxes, the entity will just take off the RBT like items for Franklin's Demise. Something like that you know...
That basically hands any survivor with a trap on immortality. They can make stupid decisions all they like and the killer loses their power (which already has limited charges) if they capitalise on that.
If you don't want a Pig going for you with a trap on, then don't search a Jigsaw box when the Pig is chasing someone nearby, don't go directly to the closest box when you're unhooked, and don't run out in front of her thinking you're immune to being hit.
The answer isn't taking away the killer's choice to capitalise on your mistakes just because people behave stupidly when they have traps on.

I made a pretty in-depth suggestion on how I believe her add ons should be reworked, it's old (from right before they merged half of combat straps into the default power) but it's still pretty much exactly as relevant today: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/37567/pig-rework-suggestion
I really can't understand why the devs create killers with these multifaceted powers, but then go "ok, we'll give 1-2 common add ons to the useful part of the power, then the other 20+ to the crap part!" We've seen it with Pig where most of her add ons give debuffs on the traps, or alter how Jigsaw boxes work in almost meaningless ways or actively make them better for survivors, and we've seen it again with Demogorgon who only has like 2 shred add ons and a plethora of "barely alters portals" add ons.
I think for Pig, any debuffs should be moved from the traps to the ambush, reward getting hits at the start of chases with a stealth attack rather than make standing up and swinging a better option half the time. She should have add ons that improve the ambush, and those that affect Jigsaw boxes shouldn't be reliant on skill checks to be useful.

People want real, tangible counterplay to Spirit, not "run Iron Will every single game in case it's Spirit, and if she has Stridor you just die anyway."
Going from a completely 1-sided beast that has cues the other player simply cannot match or really play around to something with counterplay would categorically be a nerf, it's only a negative for the killer.
-
I mean when is pipping and ranking up really a good thing?
If a survivor's head pops that means the dynamic of the game shifts drastically in my favour, anything less than 4 survivors is WAY better for killer. 1 hooked, 1 saving, 1 being chased, 0 progress.
It means I can play more calmly and make safer decisions without losing huge chunks of gens. So you may get less points from that one survivor, but the ability to make better decisions for the rest of the match can make up for that a little.
-
I don't see much value in a chapter spawned from a single-console exclusive. This is a game on PC, Xbox, Switch, PS4 and mobile, and only one of those communities has access to TLOU. The only thing like it so far is Bill, who is free and has actually been allowed on other consoles now, where Sony is notoriously protective of their licenses.

But ruin caused builds to be extremely stale. At least now we get some slightly decent variety with Corrupt and Pop, I personally still run ruin on legion and nurse.
And in what way is 4 people running dead hard, decisive and bt every match not stale?

The problem with this suggestion, is that like most of them, it's based on what you want the game to do because of a bad experience of yours, and not exactly what would make the game better.
"That happened to me, thus we need this change so i can have a better experience."
As you said before, there is situations where this kind of behavior should be tolerated (slugging for a 4k, for example). And the presented "solution" would not really fix the issue. The last survivor could hide for 60 seconds until the hatch is free, and else, the game would turn into a mouse hunt situation for the survivor, who alone can't do much versing a killer for at least a minute without being able to escape.
There is also situations where a solo survivor would be punished for ragequitting DCs, or people getting penalized for internet problems of other players. If that is a problem with SWF teams, the DC penalties should be enough to deal with it. So we just need it back as soon as possible.
Or we can think about a solution that doesn't hurt a lot of players just cause we have a few problematic ones.
I absolutely disagree with you. Slugging may not be friendly, but it is categorically not cheating, and cheating is not tolerable just because you don't like how the other team is playing.
The solution would at least give the killer a chance to find the hatch, rather than instantly ending the game by it opening under a player's feet. And the amount of cases of cheap, scummy, cheating, far outweigh the cases of "2 survivors left and my internet just happened to drop out at that moment!"
The devs already said they were thinking about making the survivors' husk remain after a DC, but that was over a year ago, so I'll believe that when I see it.
-
For most people it's that the devs didn't literally get down on their knees, pull down Billy's pants and whisper "you're the most balanced killer in the game" sensually.
Anything less than that would've set off this tantrum.

Yeah, THANKS GUYS. God I HATE that I don't have to run charge speed or movement speed add ons every single game AND now I don't need to clip the model of the chainsaw through a survivor before I even start to charge it to land a hit. Absolutely terrible that he's good now.

Please can this fnaf ######### just end.

100% it's the rabbit Legion costume. They see something that looks like a mascot and go "WELL THAT MEANS FNAF IS OK."
No, Silent Hill is ######### iconic. Fnaf is kids garbage.
I really wish they'd condense it all into a megathread, because the ######### isn't even in the game and they're just flooding general discussion with "i think fnaf is really scary, and 5th grade is hard."

Midwhich is the opposite
The doors should be further away cause its impossible to open one if youre the last survivor and killed patrols them
In my opinion, you have 2 indoor maps with a guaranteed escape, 1 that's 50/50, and now one that's killer favoured. That's a pretty fair spread. I just wish they were all RNG to be fairer.

Yeah I more meant Lery's and Hawkins.

Nemesis would still be better. It's easier to get stunned than to gain and maintain bloodlust.
It also reveals their aura so you can rev the chainsaw silently behind a wall and then nail them as you come around the corner.

This would be a great addition. It would also be cool if you got something like a charm or cosmetic for reaching rank 1.
It'd be cool if you got the killer/survivor rank icon for the highest rank you reach. Not a different one every season just "I have been rank 1 once" sort of thing.

Sloppy, Surge and STBFL all work off weapon attacks, not power. I can't think of any others.
Infectious seems to be the only one.
In which case only more reason to just remove this chaining one-hit-down from IF thing.

OR we have consistency in perk design and say "Basic attacks. Use your weapon. Your power is NOT a weapon."
Yeah. I'm struggling to think, are there any perks besides Infectious Fright that actually work on all downs any more?
-
They're definitely scared to make substantially strong add ons.
Plagues were hreat. There's basically permanent aura reading as long as people stay sick, and shorter, slower corrupt purge every time a gen goes off which SEVERELY catches people off guard.
Pretty sure since they reworked Legion though, they're scared of anything that feels like it dominates the game.
I completely agree with you though, I'm very sick of haemorrhage and blindness add ons wasting slots on killers.
-
Honestly, I say this not being a fan of Billy or Oni either, I really think they should make Infectious Fright trigger on a basic attack.
These high mobility AND one-hit down killers get too much out of it. Hell, swap it with Surge and let surge be all downs.

@Kebek said:
If that's a really new feature then prestiging needs a rework to make it viable to prestige even after you've maxed their perks.
@Peanits If this is a thing shall players who didn't prestige their characters for any reason now be punished and lose all perks and hundreds of addons and offering if they want to prestige ?
Well it was never promised prestige wouldn't change in the future, and it was your choice to pump points into what you knew was an 'incomplete' character. Why should you be given anything that players who chose to spend 200 levels of points to prestige aren't?

Can't wait for PTB to go live 😎
Hello, killer main here, killer nerf good, killer buff good.
-
Personally I hope that this replaces prestige. Rather than only getting a bloody default option, you get a toggle for blood effects when hit.
It has a few positives.
One, the only reason they've been against prestige for all cosmetics is they need to manually bloody every single one, this being a dynamic overlay seems to remove that.
Two, it means we can use P3 effects without being lobby dodged for looking experienced.
Three, screw Blendettes.
-
Yes, the more charges you use, the longer it lasts. He also tantrums if you rev for too long, but using the charge clears the tantrum meter.
-
@Peanits said:
Currently, killers have the authority over hits. If they hit a survivor on their end, the survivor will get hit on their end (no matter where they are). This is a carryover from the days before dedicated servers where the killer was the server.
In the PTB, this is actually being addressed though. The killer still has authority over hits to ensure that everything feels the same as before, but if they have a weak connection, the game will reject hits that are too far away. Testing for that starts tomorrow.
Any clarification how it will work? Am I going to get stuck in a blade wiping animation while an uninjured survivor runs away?

Ok, so what is your deal? Why are you here posting nonsense?
Can't say for sure, but I think they're pointing out how annoying it is when you have people nagging for constant replies to every little thing.
-
That's not their job. There's community managers and even then most of their job isn't sitting on the forums listening to constant whining.
It's not like people are grateful either, as soon as one thing they want changed is changed, they just latch on to the next thing to ######### about instantly.
These people are paid to make a game, not to spend half their day justifying every change they felt was necessary. Go watch a devstream or look at the dev update posts, and nearly every time they'll say why they changed things or are looking at changing them or not. They don't need to waste their time copy pasting those reasons to everyone who doesn't read and instead makes the 50th post with the same content expecting a personalised response.
-
Won't happen to survivors. The point of the pass is that from killer to killer they each have a similar spread of similar strength add ons so that they are on a more level field. Before Billy had like 75% of his add ons as brown and yellow, while Doctor had a whole heap of purple add ons. It made levelling them up cost differently, it meant Billy was more likely to have exactly the build you want available more often than doc, etc. Survivors all have the same items so there's no discrepancy between different survivors going into a match.
I would also agree that Huntress is next other than Myers (who only has 1 yellow add on that would have to be made brown) she's the only killer without the right add on numbers at the right rarities. She's also got basically the most complained about add on combination in the game; Iridescent Heads and Infantry Belt.
I do believe the devs mentioned Pig was somewhere in line for an add on pass after the chainsaw bois, but it was years ago and I can't remember who else was mentioned. She seriously needs one too, as 90% of her add ons are absolute garbage.
Personally I think Wraith needs a revisit, because the entire point of the add on pass was to make killers more equal in terms of each other, but for some reason they decided Wraith's brown add ons should be closer most killers' purple/pinks.
-
- Anything said on the forums will immediately have them held accountable for every word. Any acknowledgement of a complaint gets brought up later as a 'YOU PROMISED TO CHANGE IT.'
- People only want to hear what they want to hear. Would you spend your time responding to "BILLY IS DEAD NOW!!1!" when no matter how fair or justified your response is, you will just be yelled at and berated because people don't agree with you?
- There's only like 2 people whose job it is to interact with the public, and they aren't allowed to give you the 'we'll change that' answers you want to hear unless it's coming from higher up. All those other people are probably hard at work, either tweaking these changes, or just continuing to fix the countless bugs that will doubtless be brought by them. In fact there's already issues with PTB matches, so would you prefer someone spending hours responding to complaints by butthurt Billy mains who thought he was untouchable, or actually making the game function?
-
Looks about as scary and detailed as FNAF.
-
Have you ever considered people like things you don't?
I really enjoy the game and Midwich. The only things I don't like about indoor maps are having preset exit gates that are ALWAYS further apart than the time it takes for a survivor to open one. That is blatantly unfair.
-
Because he's above and beyond the last outlier killer.
His power had no real drawback, no cooldowns, charges, no downtime. At worst, it's a minimal stun if you suck REALLY hard and hit something.
It allowed constant insane mobility around the map, on top of being a cheap one hit down. It doesn't even slow him slower than survivors while revving allowing you to rev indefinitely to wait for the slightest slipup by survivors and instantly down them.
Having a killer so far above basically everything else means that nothing can really be adjusted for killers as a whole without being ludicrous with Billy.
But people with just chant "BILLY MOST BALANCED" and think people don't actually see the issues.
-
If every fountain is corrupt, they will all turn clean again and you will gain the buff automatically. So if too many people cleanse too quickly, you will be forced to take corrupt and lose like 5 charges of it.

I'm a big believer in placing a trap near the hook. It forces the unhooker to take longer to unhook and then both of them waste like 10 seconds crouching that could otherwise be spent on gens.
That said, unless that trap goes off, or there's nobody else alive/unhooked to find, I don't go back to the hook.
The unfortunate truth of Hag is that most players will place traps near the hook, then sprint back regardless as soon as someone is unhooked because you either run and set off the trap or crouch away and she has time to get to you.
-
When you started the game for the first time, you agreed to the EULA. Part of that in nearly EVERY competitive game is that you are agreeing that the devs can change characters, weapons, powers, anything they like for what they see as balance.
When they then change something, in line with that agreement, you don't get to revoke your accepting that and demand your money back.
You can't have a refund, you already agreed that this was ok.

There may be 8 year olds watching, that's the parents decision to let them watch, but it's geared towards adults. In the show there's multiple implied sex scenes and the books are not found in kid sections of the book store. The demographic is largely adult also due to the nostalgia.
Fnaf is geared towards kids so their demographic is largely kids. It's found in children's sections because that is where they grow their fanbase. There's a difference between a franchise targeted to adults that maybe a some kids are watching and a franchise targeted to children that some teens/young adults are still into because they grew up on it.
And there's a pile of dirty jokes in most Disney movies that go way over the heads of kids.
Stranger Things is not an 'adult' show that some kids watch, it's a kids show that some adults watch.
-
Old Legion was so problematic and fundamentally broken, so no.
On the other hand, new Legion is legitimately terrible so I hope they don't stay like this either.
-
Ew, no.
Her prestige hand/hair goes well with the red chemosynthesis (mud medusa?) body with its red glowing veins.
Her green chemosynthesis set and cabbage patch hag sets both mix well together as well.
Why would you want her more limited for no reason?
-
My favourite is:
"When you hook someone in the endgame, and a gate is already open, you must walk to that gate like an idiot and look around wondering 'well gee, why is nobody here, OH NO THEY ALL PREDICTABLY SAVED THAT GUY AND WENT OUT THE OTHER GATE.' You are categorically not allowed to stay near the hooked person and get 3 kills out of them being stupid."
-
Jesus Christ, I nearly want a FNAF chapter just so we can stop ######### hearing about it.

Survivors have limited resources. Items expend quickly, and there are only a finite amount of pallets.
It's true. These idea like "cooldown on pallets, or tokens" may be sarcastic, but the fact of the matter is that the survivors as a team share a fixed number of pallet uses in the game. They use their "power" too much and they get tremendously weaker. I came back from a 6 month break and WOW are there not a lot of pallets any more. Survivors do have "tokens" on their strength, it just isn't a red bar on the hud like killers get.
Also suck it up Billy players, he's had it coming for YEARS.

This. At bookstores fnaf books are in the kids section. On Barnes and Noble and Amazon it's recommended for 12 year olds, but reviews say kids as young as 8 are enjoying it because it's not scary. DBD is supposed to be for mature players, adding fnaf would increase the kid player base - which would bring in complaints from the parents groups that don't fully look into a game but buy it if it has a kid thing in it, they like to make complaints when they should've followed ratings. I'm not sure DBD really want to increase child fan base and deal with that.
I mean do you really think 8 year olds aren't watching stranger things?

Even if you disregard the archives lore it doesn't change the fact that Jeff was taken by The Entity years after the legion.
While the Legion are all teenagers around 16 to 19. Jeff is clearly in his late 20s maybe even early 30s. The original lore also makes it pretty impossible for it to be Jeff's father
The only linking factor is the fact that Jeff was commissioned by Frank. Once again many wrong assumptions have been made about the legion. Jeff's father is one of them
"Many wrong assumptions."
In your opinion.
-
Ok, not sure why the cheap shot on Pig. She's both an interesting killer to play, and Saw was a big draw for me to the game in the first place. She definitely isn't anywhere near Bubba tier of bad.
Adding to reasons, FNAF is just a poor franchise. It wasn't a unique concept when it was made, scary mascots and animatronics have been in countless things before it. The game itself was so utterly dull, and jumpscares aren't really even jumpscares when they're the entire game, they're just annoying things shrieking on your screen.
Building a whole franchise on something as bland as "jumpscares," with (from what I've seen) a story that just keeps rewriting itself despite never making any sense with previous entries, just doesn't go down well with me as something to be celebrated.
It wasn't a unique concept when it started, it's been ripped off and repeated countless times since, it's not the sort of memorable horror that will be known 10 years from now the way horror icons like Freddy and Myers still are.
-
Loathe them.
SO MANY safe pallets. The school and the house of pain are both insanely strong to waste a lot of time, and the gens are in awful spots to check on. The maps are also pretty large.
What's worse is that the 5 different version really don't feel different at all, the only effect it has is being 5 times more likely than any other map to show up, and I never know where anything is. I sincerely hope they don't do more map 'reworks' like this one that just shuffle identical elements around and make remembering them suck. I'd prefer one map I know over 5 of the same map that are all confusing.
-
CORN.
Corn sucks, it's 5 times more likely than licensed maps, and it plays out the exact same way every time.
Corn is not an interesting feature, it SUCKS. Even worse is that their theme of "4 maps with a cornfield section" got topped off with "1 map that is just goddamn corn!"
-
Depends on the survivors. If some flashlight clicking, dead-try-hard tool makes it out but I killed off their obvious newbie SWF who basically runs right into me, it doesn't really feel like a good outcome regardless of the numbers.
But if I kill one cocky person and 3 escape, that still feels like a win.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/168780/is-carl-the-cashier-related-to-jeff
I doubt it's Jeff's father considering Jeff was taken years after the legion.
Legion was taken recently after finding their identity as the legion. Meaning it had only been maybe a week or two since Julie came up with the name Legion that they were snatched.
Jeff painted the mural for Frank meaning he painted this in the interval between Julie coming up with the name and vandalizing Joey's old job.
If Jeff's father was the cleaner Jeff would have still been in Ormond by the time his body was found.
However it's quite evident that just spent a couple of years outside of Ormond before the news of his father came back to him.
Conclusion I think a lot of people jump to the assumption that the legions first kill was Jeff's Dad.
Honestly it wasn't the first time someone jumps to conclusions when it came to Legion especially considering everyone was under the impression that they were one split personality killer
I'm more in favour of the theory that the devs forgot they mentioned him in Jeff's lore and in rewriting the origin story in the archives missed the point that they were called the Legion long before.
Most notably, the archives lore basically has Julie declare them the Legion right on the way out the door to kill the man, in which case there's no possible time for them to go; "Well, we're the Legion now, quickly let's go hire an artist to paint a mural in the clubhouse THEN we'll go trash the place that fired you."
It was also around the time that the devs put more into having the survivors and killers be a little bit linked, like Adam moving to and teaching in Japan to be linked to the Spirit.
-
It's a tie for me between Claudette and Nea.
Neas generally play more toxically and always have disgusting neon outfits because they think they're good enough to be seen all the time. They usually aren't which is nice.
Though Claudettes make me angry as someone who plays both sides, the way they tend to hide over running, they stand in the corner self-caring, and most importantly, they use dark oufits to play the game for them rather than learning how to be good themselves.
If it comes down to a Nea and a Claudette and one is getting hatch though, I'd probably hunt down the Claudette.
