“I don’t like this strategy because it doesn’t work in my favor. Therefore, it is deemed an exploit. Because of this, it needs to be removed immediately since I am an entitled forum user.”
-
I honestly wouldn’t expect them to fully launch for at least another year.
No sarcasm intended.
-
In all seriousness, run Small Game.
I will continue to preach it here. If Small Game enters the meta you will destroy the HEX meta.
I don’t play without Small Game. I stopped playing the game for 9 months. Came back at R18. Been playing at R1 all month after 4 days of ranking up.
-
It’s used in 86%+ of games at R1.
You’re not going to get any traction here since so many people crutch on the perk.
Don’t worry though. Self Care was used by 80%+ of Survivors at one point. This made them all scream “OP!!!! Please nerf!!!!”
80%+ of Killers use Ruin? They need it. /s

Survivors do not adapt. They never do.
Do you need for me to quote that post for the millionth time?
2016 would like a word with you.
Edit. 2016, 2017 and 2018 would all like a word with you.

The game? With like 19-20 pallets each game for sure? XD
It depends on how it spawns. But Survivors are least likely to escape on The Game compared to every other map.. The devs have showed us these statistics.
I would say that makes it pretty good for a Killer, most of the time.
-
Define "strongest." For a Survivor one of the Farm maps most likely. For Killer, probably The Game or Treatment Theatre.
The best map overall is probably Coal Tower IMO.
Really small so it is good for a Killer.
Can have some nice juke spots, so good for Survivor.
Probably the most balanced map in the game.
-
It would be a lot more balanced if doors couldn’t spawn at a 90 degree angle.
-
It's so weird. It's almost like.. You don't have to open the locker and grab them.

I'm convinced all the people who whine about this game being survivor sided are just awful.
The good players are busy actually playing 🤷🏻♀️.
The game isn’t perfect, but it’s never been a better time to play Killer IMO.

Fake stats! Just like the stats shown by the devs these statistics have obviously been fake. I don't have any proof that these stats are fake but it must be another bias'd survivor trying to sway people's opinions with fake stats.
All live streamed 🤪🤷🏻♀️

Wow, your detailed spreadsheet puts my half-arsed forum post to shame. My witnessing of 40 deaths were:
- 5 Spirits (in a row)
- 3 Hillbillies
- 1 Cannibal
- 1 Nurse
The Nurse 4K was the most painful because it was a console Nurse. The Spirit games all felt fair and balanced but the Hillbillies killed everyone pretty much instantly in all 3 games (so would not have earned any pips).
🤪. People keep talking how unfair the game is. I decided to keep track of my R1 games to see how they really go.
I think a lot of people spamming the forums just aren’t as good as they think they are.

Don't you know they're not "REAL" red rank survivors unless they're a 4man SWF consisting of former military radiomen with a total hour count of over 20 000 hours? Your statistics are clearly invalid 🙂
Lol.
Balance the game around the 1% of Survivors, but please don’t balance the Killers around the top 1% 😊.
Here’s the chart if anyone wants to see what actually playing solo at R1 is like :
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Fmwuhlmag8s32myoqtKQvCxneF5WNWhRvE4bz6pWfRQ/edit?usp=sharing
-
21 out of my last 50 games played at R1 ended in 4K’s for the Killer (42%).
8 out of 50 were 3K’s (16%)
8 out of 50 were 2K’s (16%)
5 out of 50 were 1K’s (10%)
8 out of 50 were 0K’s (16%)
Quite a frequent occurrence for a game that is so survivor sided (supposedly), and for an achievement in game that should be a rare occurrence.
-
86% of Killers at R1 crutch on Ruin in my last 50 games (43/50)
70% crutch on BBQ and Chili (35/50).
Personally, Small Game has become a staple in my perk set since I came back to DBD. Ruin gets spammed every single match, and the faster it’s gone the better off chances of surviving are.
-
Not a single game at R1 I’ve played and tracked this season has been that short. They all averaged about 16.9 minutes after 50 games.
How many mistakes did he make? There was a point around 3.5 minutes where he missed every single bottle point blank on Jeff, where it extended the chase out.
Never once uses Pop Goes the Weasel.
I don’t have any issues with Tru3, but there are a LOT better Killers than him that can easily apply pressure. The Survivors were better than him that game, period.

First they nerfed exhaustion perks now stealth perks. At this rate, next patch they'll remove survivors ability to run completely. With all the surv nerfs and recent killer buffs we should have the old exhaustion back. The status went away so damn slowly while running but at least it rewarded a good chase. Now you just get downed and face camped. Fun stuff.
Survivors have been getting nerfed since day 1 lol.
But Killers have dealt with nerfs as well.
I don’t run exhaustion perks excluding Adrenaline. They’re generally overrated in 2019.
Leave Spine Chill alone.
-
I took a long time off the game. I haven’t dc’ed or suicided on hook, so I consistently stay at R1.
Idk. People are pretty damn sweaty at R1, but to be honest.. I think people are sweaty in general playing this game.
You find some really good players at R1.
Your friends may look down on you?? lol. A lot of my DBD friends have been playing since day 1. They make fun of me for being rank 1, but they know I’m not sweaty. It’s just a meme. Nobody that’s played this game long enough cared about rank.
-
”We want Survivors to hide more.”
Nerfs perks that help you evade and hide.
🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️.
Spine Chill is a great perk and has become solidified in my build since people want to spam Spirit at R1.
Maybe I should equip DS instead.
-
Let me see all the Survivors.
Let me see their names.
Let me see their profiles.
Let me pick the maps.
Have you ever heard of a choosing beggar?
-
Imagine a mint rag hag with a charge attack. That’s The Demogorgon at base. The difference is Hag traps can be insta destroyed with activating or a flashlight.
His traps take time to destroy .

Question. Can survivors see inactive portals? I know they can close active, so they can apparently see them open. But ones that have been placed, but not used. Are they visible to survivors?
They're given a white aura when a Survivor is working on destroying them. Otherwise, no they are not.

It can only teleport from one portal to another. And there's a cooldown after each use. ( he also needs to use the portal at least once before it can detect other survivors)
With a little bit of coordination, It can be done while someone leads it away.
At least, not gonna be worse than 3 gen doctor.
I'm just trying to workshop a counter strategy, I like doing that.
Playing as him would probably help understand where his weakpoints are (wish my computer wasn't a potato)
Coordinating as a solo player is.. not a strategy I would try to go with.
-
@Alice_pbg said:

What if you ignore the portal and just do the gen?
He can't change the location, if the gen gets done that's 2 useless portals
If you ignore it he will just port onto you.. I didn't play as him, but it seems his traps don't have a range.
I'm not asking for nerfs or trying to complain. I am just expressing that in my games, he was very unfun to play against.
-
@Alice_pbg said:

With a max of 6 portals...
Using 2 per gen seems bad.
3 gen master. All it takes is for him to see one is destroyed, he goes to the closest one.
It took R1 killers about 3 hours to figure out this strat, and I played against it for the rest of the night. I actually got irritated with DBD for the first time since I came back. I queued off the PTB, I'll just wait until he's live.

Really? I havenr versed a lot demos so far. Most of them were good to handle. The chases were feeling fair and skill based (unlike spirit were you constantly flip coins and play guessing games).
What exactly don't you like? His m2? Or the teleporting? And why?
This is going to be his meta :
Run add ons to increase time to destroy traps.
Equip Hex Ruin and Pop Goes the Weasel.
Put two traps near gens. You destroy one, he goes to the other. You spend time working traps, gens never get finished.
It's actually so boring. At least Spirit has to dedicate some time to cross the entire map.
-
I played the map a few times. The last variation of it, every single pallet I found was unsafe. Much fun!
-
It's really too early to tell, but he is extremely unfun to play against. This is just me speaking from my experience. I was having a lot of unfun playing against Spirits, but tbh.. I would rather play against Spirit than the Demo.
-
A lot of the map can be a dead zone.
It USED to be pallet town. It’s nothing like it was before.
-
Leave Adrenaline alone. It’s a reward for surviving until the last gen is powered.
You can have the rest, sounds like a good offer.
-
It’s used in 90% of Killer matches at R1.
No.
-
It can help, but anything other than a get away for free card.
However, I always run Iron Will.
-
Relying on a totem perk was your first mistake.
Your second mistake was assuming I wouldn’t run Small Game when 90% of games at R1 consist of Ruin
-
People used to cheat bloodpoints.
At one point the cap was 500K 😥.
-
People actually thinking access to names and profiles is necessary..
-
Just woke up, debating having a bowl of cereal. Most of my lobbies are all red rank survivors. One game last night I had two rank 15 survivors, with 1 perk each. It was a R1 Ruin Nurse. So it went as well as you would expect.
-
I had two rank 15's with one perk each against a R1 Nurse tonight.
The game didn't go well.

30 matches are nowhere near a good sample size to judge all games off of.
I am keeping data on 100 matches. That is the current data, but I doubt it will change that much.
-
@Kilmeran said:
@altruistic I'm hearing that quite a bit. I haven't played in a few months, and plan to give it a shot again. I'm just waiting for Behavior to fix the matchmaking fiasco currently going on.
Here are the results of my past 30+ matches as a Survivor at R1 playing solo.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Fmwuhlmag8s32myoqtKQvCxneF5WNWhRvE4bz6pWfRQ/edit?usp=sharing
Tonight was a bit rough, I only escaped once.
40% of the games have resulted in 4k's, something that should be a HUGE accomplishment and not happening so frequently. I would say Killers are in a great spot at the moment, based off of my data.
-
Bad players need to git gud.
The game is in a pretty good spot right now in terms of balance IMO.
-
Mori’s are pretty terrible mechanics of the game.
I would be all for removing them in trade for insta heals and skeleton keys. I don’t think anyone would take the offer though.
-
Body blocking is not bannable 🤦🏻♀️🤡.
It does not happen that often tbf. I’ve been playing at R1 all season, it rarely happens. (Suicides on hook.)
-
No.
-
In 25 games at R1 that I’ve tracked (solo) :
Spirit - 6
Legion - 4
Freddy - 4
Nurse - 3
Huntress - 3
Hillbilly - 2
Trapper - 1
Doctor - 1
Pig - 1
92% or 23/25 games the Killer used Hex Ruin.
48% of games resulted in 3/4 Sacrifices, or 10 4K games and 2 3k games.
14 games I escaped from or 56% of the time.
I haven’t played a Ghostface at R1 yet. I am tracking 100 Survivor games to see how they end up. You can look at the stats here if you want :
-
Small Game alerts you of a fake pallet, along with his blood spools.
-
It used to stack to 300% if you saved 3 survivors within 180 seconds lol.
I made a lot of players rage quit healing myself before they could break one pallet.
I love We’ll Make It, but it would be pretty unfair.

I wouldn't call Ruin a crutch. It just helps in slowing down the game, as any perk helps in some specific way, e.g. Spirit fury in chases or Barbeque for finding survivors and applying more map pressure. I feel like otherwise you could call many perks, if not at all, a crutch. It simply allows you to go for more chases and longer ones, but you still have to apply map pressure as well.
It gives you time normally not granted. There is a reason 90% of players at R1 in my experience are using the perk.
-

I love it when killers use ruin, greats aren’t hard to hit and totems usually go out fast. Wasted perk slot on most killers imo.
I destroy totems before I even touch a gen. Small Game is a sleeper perk. If it entered the meta, Ruin would fall heavily out.
-
Ruin is a crutch, like so many other things in this game for Killer. There are plenty of crutches for Survivor, don't get me wrong.
But it's not uncommon, in the games I've tracked over 90% of R1 Killers use Ruin. That's fine though, my Small Game Meg loves eating totems.
-
Most games at red ranks (I am EU) are Spirits. It's pretty boring to be honest. You just gotta deal with it. They're not impossible to escape from, but far from fun to play against. I would still rather play a Spirit versus a Nurse.
