and also they can watch ur playtime on steam so its the same.
all the killers or maybe 90% off them tunnel not beacause ur p100 its the skillissues off them so thats why they have to
And that’s why so many people use anon mode as well. The less info before the trial starts the better.

You are wrong, if the killer can hold you hostage for more then a one hour total. He can literally kill you with the unofficial match timer. But, again, the killer power is all about patrolling Genators and putting pressure on every gens, especially the three closest gens. She terrible in chase, unless you have a chase build; she doesn't have any speed and lethality if survivors are not interacting with her traps or simple hold w when leaving the drones range. That is how the killer is meant to be played, it not bugs or anything; so that is why it will never get Killswitch in the first place.
You want her kill switch so badly; I dare you to find some game breaking bug that only she can do; that makes her unintended gives her something to exploit.
The devs are going to rework her eventually; so deal with it; or take a break and go play a different game until the rework. If you can't handle playing more then 30 minutes in a game; then maybe gaming is not for you. Is this me, being sick of the "Killswitch Skull Merchant" post everytime they complained simply because of the boring power she only provided; yes I do. Should she be kill switch because she unfun to play, no; she not broken in bug/exploits; she broken because of the devs lack of clear vision for the killer overall design.
Again, you didn’t bother reading anything, so I won’t bother reading this + she is getting reworked on the ptb next week already so discussion over. Best regards!

I hope one day survivor’s score will be evaluated as a team, that’d push for more team oriented gameplay.

Yeah, playing against SM absolutely sucks and I hope her rework comes soon, but it doesn't change the fact that she's not going to get killswitched even though most of us hate her because it's not what the killswitch is for.
They teased the rework for next midchapter, which ptb might take place next week according to calculations. Hopefully it will be good!

Grim pantry’s main building is pain for some locker + vaults RNGs… so annoying.
-
In my opinion this pushes survivors to hump the gens faster. Flashlights and going for saves are one of the few things that give survivors a base-kit side quest that’s actually fun to do for them, which means less people just mashing the gens. Gens go much much much faster now. I miss flashlights on both sides.

What they should be doing is implementing the ability to see what perks your team is running. This would help out solo queue immensely. This, this is a silly change. Lobby dodging is not that big of an issue.
I agree on the feature to see your team mates perks for the sake of synergy and stuff, but people also pointed out it could be used as a way to dodge if people don't like the perks somebody else is using. I strongly disagree with you that lobby dodging isn't an issue at the moment, because it is. Lobby dodging is also one of the main reasons why MMR doesn't work at all. You can read the comments under the main post of this debate and will understand why! :)
-
Isn't that just... No Way Out from Trickster? lmao
-
There is nothing more painful than laggy killers istg. I have gotten once hit at the end of my lithe when the killer swang at the window and I had like 50 ping and they had consistent bad ping icon and were teleporting every 3 seconds. I hope one day they can do something about the servers and how connection works, because in most games bad ping punishes you, but in DbD it rewards you (as Killer).
-
If you got 1 hr penalty it may not be the first and only time in the last 24 hours. Every pvp online game has a dc penalty regardless of the reason, if not it would be a chaos. Sorry and I hope this doesn't come out as rude or anything, but you should not play an online game if your internet it's like that, for the sake also of not ruining the experience for the rest of the players nor for yourself either (since you can't even play or will lag like crazy).
-
I’ve always thought about the zombies ever since they changed the flashlights interactions and said they didn’t want them to interact with killer’s powers. I hope they eventually rework vaccines into some kind of gun or item to defeat the zombies, or maybe smack them at the cost of a health state/mending. It’s quite ridiculous to think about all the times they actually carry the game (or some situations) and it’s an AI Nemesis has to do nothing to get. They literally can stand in front of hooks, not leave the gates and stay at gens if triggered in yellow by perks, and so on.
I really wish they never introduced AI in this game because it’s just terrible. Hoping for a Nemesis rework soon to make him more interesting to play as and against!

Its called statistics, i know math can be frustrating sometimes :/
It is a "Us" vs "them" moment. Because some players are benefiting from this system and some players are in a disadvantaged. It has nothing to do with killer or survivors per se, more with the players who play em.
Nobody gives a damn about mathematics if I am telling you I played through that and it happened like that, and it’s my experience. It’s like telling somebody they didn’t get assaulted twice in 4 months because “akshually the statistics says that assaults happen only 1.3 times a semester in your area”. Like be serious for 2 seconds. Also you are late to the party, this was during the peak of the “chess merchant” video brainrot. End of interaction!

Being neutral is boring.. forum is killer sided, reddit is killer sided, most content creators are killer sided and I don't see people complain it's ok, then if someone post a survivor opinion here all of a sudden it's a problem
it's just a funny fact if it affects survivors it's probably fixed in the next 3-6 months, bug affecting killer they're always very quick to react
If you find fun in pitting the playerbase against each other it’s quite odd behaviour to say the least. Sorry to break it to you but are not better than the people you complain about and you are so wrong, and it’s been said here that game breaking bugs have been rapidly kill switched for killers too e.g. Dredge and Wesker going invisible.

The Pickrate of skullmerchant is around 1,4%
So the chance of getting her 4 times in 10 games is like 0.00074%. I think you exaggerate it a bit.
Shes the 4th rarest killer that is getting played. If you really hate her that mutch just AFK or suicide on the next hook. I mean thats what killers have to do against bullysquads too. Welcome on our side.
Since a rework is comeing (hopefully) soon, i think its only a matter of time until this is fixed
Insane to call somebody’s objective experience an exaggeration. Next time I will open stream just for you so you can check and compile the data of my games! So unserious.

I hate the "us vs them" too but I would argue having to do every generator twice because of a perk that could be killswitched and avoided so easily was also game-breaking. But they didn't care for a month. I will forgive but never forget LOL.
It was an annoying af bug but was nowhere near this one that can prevent people from getting hit at all. People would just stay in lockers because they can’t be hit there and wait for the killer to leave the game because they just can’t do anything about it if survivors refuse to finish the gens. It’s just nowhere close for comparison, and we all should be happy and glad they took action as fast as they did with Dredge and Wesker months ago.
-
Why does everything and anything have to become a “Us vs Them” argument or debate?
The MS bug was damn annoying but wasn’t game breaking like the flashlight + locker is. Wesker and Dredge got actual game breaking bugs recently and both got killswitched within a day. Of course they should take better action against bugs such as the MS one (check how Blast mine is still there even though currently can make you invisible btw), but why do people have to get catty and sassy over this.
Looks like devs can’t ever really win. If they don’t take action people complain, if they take action they complain as well.
-
Eruption is fine as it is now.

Wanting to nerf CALM SPIRIT... It has come down to this, damn.
-
If you get annoyed when you get destroyed by 3 P100's I bet it's going to be more annoying for you when you get destroyed as well by 3 P5's. The problem is not the prestige there mate. The new update is perfect as it is.

I guess the healing meta will come back sooner or later. It's been good that there've been changes to these perks, but as it's named, it's a meta and metas come and go. Most likely there will be something that will bring medkits and self-healing methods back and be stronger again, probably to gutter the already stale and boring hit and run, kick gen, go away meta that's been around ever since the perk overhaul of 2022. Let's just hope they keep things changing because it's what makes the game interesting, if not... It will suffer again from stale gameplay for God knows how many years.
-
I feel the exact same way! She feels like old deathslinger, who felt awful to go up against because survivors just could not react to the aim down sights because it was instant. With Xenomorph it's the same + pallets and windows are even more useless than against Deathslinger. It just feels straight up awful to go up against, knowing especially that she can M1 anytime during crawler mode, which she shouldn't and there should be another way fot her to get into the mode.

That would require huge nerfs to survivors to counter the uncounterable advantage the coordination comms give them. Disabling aura perks, SWFs having increased generator repair times per each member in the premade, etc.
SWF mains can't have it both mains, having a huge advantage over Killers while also insisting the game should be balanced around solo queue.
The game will get balanced around SWF once solo Q is put to the same level of SWF. There is still a lot of work to be done. Instead of punishing people for playing a VIDEOGAME with their FRIENDS, think of ways to get solo Q and "randoms" to the same level of coordination SWF can have or very similar with tools that can be given through the game (Kindred base kit, knowing your team's builds, and yada yada yada). Nobody plays a multiplayer game with friends to be handicaped for doing so. Imagine if for playing duos in a shooter game your headshots counted just half damage. Be serious and let the inner pain go, please.

I did this one in solo Q first try... It's really not that hard.

I like Sole Survivor. Each time one of my
potatoesteammates getsharvestedkilled, I get a small buff. It makes playing solo queue feel better. Even if it's somewhat useless sometimes. I don't run a build around it though. The problem is that most do, and players I get on my teams with this perk (or Left Behind) always do the bare minimum for the team and just try to take their escape that way because they are doing some silly escape streak or are people obsessed with their MMR. People who don't care about that will stay on your team, but people who expect some more team gameplay engagement will just avoid you.
-
?
Who would want to play against SWF if they can choose not to and just face solos? The queue times would be hell of a mess with not everybody being even full 4 SWF. Be serious and rational, please. Look for solutions and features to make solo Q the most similar to SWF, and not punishing people for playing a multiplayer videogame with their friends.

Yes! Since I am all here for avoiding lobby dodging, lately it's gotten more common to see people running builds that push an extreme selfish gameplay style and can get overwhelming for the solo team mates. People who don't care will just stay anyway, but I think that something that pushes people back a lot from playing solo is getting people that don't have any kind of team gameplay mentality so they approach premades to secure they will be team oriented. I don't know, but I'd for sure love a test or something to try it out!

wait am so confused
this feature is supposed to help Survivors how is it nerfing Survivors?
also how are you saying you're a newbie killer and at the same time complaining about xeno you should be happy there's a strong killer to play right?
many questions.
plus I'd like to say that when mmr was implemented and before the prestige rework you could only see grades i think and grades were only for monthly rewards yet people took em as a measure of skill and were complaining about getting queued with iri 1 players when that meant absolutely nothing and wasn't a factor in matchmaking.
then it was prestiges, which were only meant as a way to show off your commitment to a character you like but people still took it as a measurement of skill (even if sometimes it could actually correlate to this) and started dodging or harassing high prestige players so imo the necessary evil is that nothing be shown at all so people (me included) stop freaking out about numbers on the screen and just play the game and focus on improving the mm system itself.
Let's hope that the player cards they said they'd implement later this year don't follow the same path now that they understood the problem of too much information given before the matches (prestige in this case)!
-
@saintjimmy456 said:
Yeah why not. You are told what perks other survivors are playing in some cases anyway (We'll Make It/Prove Thyself) so why not an option to see all of the perks being played.
This would save you healing somebody playing Adrenaline if a gen is just about to pop. These kind of things are desparately needed in solo queue as there is no communication (and a lot of the time hardly any team work at all)
Just to be balanced and to consider the killer, as that is what this game is all about, balance. Perhaps survivors should not be able to see the other survivors' perks before the game starts. If we can all see each others perks in the pre-game lobby perhaps it would give survivors an unfair advantage of co-ordinating what is being played. Just a thought, as the devs are all about balance.
I don't think that pre-game coordination is bad, I believe that that was the point of pre-game lobby chat until console got added and well, they can't use it. If anything, I think it will help and push people to feel more comfortable while playing solo Q! It'd never be an unfair advantage to know these prior to the game, remember that if anything it would put them at the same level of playing with friends, so it would be perfectly fine.

@Venusa said:
I would like this feature but only if the perks are displayed after you get in the match. Maybe alongside the details you see when you press ESC?
This way dodging others based on their perks wouldn't be a problem. If they decide to leave after loading in they already get a penalty.
Plus you wouldn't have to memorize who has what, you could just check in-game.
In my opinion it's needed before the match so you can pick perks that have good synergy with your team mates and don't counter them even (for example, I'd never pick Overzealous or Inner Healing if I see a team mate with boons, and the other way around. Has happened to me a lot of times.) A loadout display tab should be cool too in-game (once the trial started) to make sure that the team mate that is on hook and getting camped for example is the one with Deliverance or not, and with so many other tactical movements.

It’s not a pallet to rely on perks, the main purpose is most likely saves like i said. The lithe value thingy is just an extra on top of that.
-
I think that there are pallets that are there for just saves and not for actual looping (or just so hard to do around them) if that makes sense? I think it’s fine that there are some pallets like these. If you run lithe can also be pre-droppable from afar and get value!

Some of the best news in a while. I still want backfill logic to just.. not exist and to instead potentially wait longer to find a replacement player with normal matchmaking, but until then anything that reduces dodging is a great call as it seems like the #1 source of absolutely awful matches.
Hopefully a sign of a drive of complete obliteration of all non-essential (basically everything but survivor choice and item choice imo) information that lets genuine entitlement to stuff like Steam profile information and the creepy privacy shaming that's way more common than it should be in the community be a thing!
The reason why I use anon mode is because of this basically. I don’t want to feel stalked before all my games and it to be used as a way to dodge me or want fo face me. I don’t want to give any information like that to the killer nor to my solo team mates. At the end of the game it’s fine because you can add people you clicked with or that you had some sort of funny interaction with or whatever (I have made tons of friends in this game this way and I love it.) Pre-game lobby information ruins the mentality and is so destructive for a lot of people with stalking boyfriend complex and I hope everybody realizes it now + learn to play the game going in fully blind.
I can only be thankful for this new feature, really. A lot of people will finally have fun again playing with their most loved survivors with high prestige, a lot of people will realize how dumb is to have a mindset about the match early on based on prestige numbers, and a lot of people will as well get better quality matches (doesn’t mean a win or a loss, means more skill bases adjusted.) Hope finally more people will enjoy the game for what it is!

In a game that's a 5 person experience, why should the killer be the only one to be able to decide which games are worth slogging through, then?
Fighting games have no problem sharing that information because it's a 1 v 1 scenario where you both have access to the same resources, the same health pool, and the outcome is entirely based on skill alone. You can make the informed choice to dodge, and so can your opponent. And while you and I may be of equal or greater skill than the other, there's a good chance the random Nea is gonna be Urban'ing around the map the whole game even if she has 1k hours therefore being more of a detriment than an aid.
Play time does not equal skill, prestige does not equal skill.
And likewise, DbD and fighting games couldn't be further categories from each other so that was an extremely poor analogy on your part. They're not even close. It also seems like you forgot the part where you can both see each other's info, but then want to apply that to JUST the killer in terms of DbD. Just a device to help push your narrative.
By your logic, the only way it makes sense to keep giving the killer as much information as they already have from the pregame lobby (or more info like you suggest) is by making it so we can see as much about them as they can about us. If the killer can see four P100's with flashlights and toolboxes, then we should be able to see what prestige the killer is and what killer we're going against so we can make that same informed decision to skip the lobby.
But that would cause outrage among killer mains, because y'all are biased and not about actual equality and fairness, but about what benefits y'all the most. You want the lobbies that would give you the highest chance to win, regardless of whether or not that lobby is actually fair for both sides. You don't care about the survivor experience. Just yours. How the tables would turn when half the killers in the roster wouldn't be able to find a game. No one wants to verse a sweaty Blight or Nurse. The Alien is miserable to go against in its current state. Half the players hate Wesker because they face him so much. If I had the choice to skip Plague knowing one of my teammates is constantly going to rescue a sick person off hook and immediately cleanse over and over, I would. We won't even talk about Chess Merchant or the Knight. I could go on.
But that would just cause even worse lobby dodging problems, and skew MMR-made lobbies even more than they already are. Which is why that would be a terrible idea, and I'm of the opinion it should be stripped entirely for both sides. No one should have an advantage before the match even begins.
Some of you don't play both sides, and it shows.
As someone with 3k hours, a P60 Chris that I'm trying to get to P100, pretty much only plays solo, and is currently one of the people who has prestiges hidden-- it makes the world of a difference.
To those of you saying that "prestige targeting isn't a thing". I'd of welcomed you to come play my Chris this past two weeks alone. I've literally watched killers run past other survivors to come chase me at the start of the game. I've been camped. Hard tunneled. The whole nine yards. I've literally had to run DS lately because I've been targeted that hard that frequently. I'm not toxic. I'm not even P100 yet. It's made me question whether I want to keep going because every game, or every other game, some killer decides they have to prove something to absolutely no one by trying to get me down and out as fast as they can. Or, they'd dodge the lobby 4-5 times until that super sweaty killer readied up. Meanwhile, I just want to chill and be able to play the game as my favorite character. I play games for fun, not to stress and sweat my butt off.
None of it happened when I switched to any other character, as my other highest character is Dwight (P22) and everyone else is between prestiges 3-10. I got to have normal games when I played anyone else. Hardly any lobby dodging, if at all. And if there was it was most likely because of my hours since my profile isn't private.
I've definitely been getting targeted and dodged less while playing Chris while prestiges are off, which has made my whole experience a lot better overall. Not entirely since the people who don't have prestiges off can still see mine, or my profile, but it's definitely mitigated it a whole lot. I'm definitely in favor of this change going through for everyone. I'd like to see less lobby dodging because of prestiges, and more fair games all around.
Nobody could have said all this better! I relate to your experience a lot, and my games have been also better now playing my high prestige characters again most likely because I went up against people who also got this update. The result of the games have been the same in regards of kills and escapes, the targeting just has felt actually tactical by killers and not pre-set from the lobby.

The solution to the problem isn't to give killers less info, it's to let the survivors wait longer. If you don't understand why information is more important to the person playing the 1 in the 1v4 game, then I don't know what to tell you. Ideally the game would show you your MMR, along with the MMR and play times of the survivors you're going up against, as well as who's in a team so that the killer can decide which games are worth slogging through and which aren't. That would be fair, but I'm not going to pretend like that isn't wishful thinking on my part.
I've brought this up before in discussions like this, but I find it absurd that fighting games don't have a problem giving you all the information you could possibly want before a match. If you're playing street fighter 6 for example, you can see the opposing player's rank, their connection type (which is a much bigger deal in fighting games than it is in dbd) and you can open up their profile to see a detailed breakdown of where they stand as a player including how many matches they've played, both on a per character basis and in total, and their win/lose ratio, again, both per character and in total, and you know what, dodging isn't really a problem there because the game's reasonably balanced, and the matchmaking is mostly fair. God forbid you do anything like that in this 1v4 game. That just wouldn't be fair to the 4 players I guess.
I strongly disagree with you. DbD is not a comp scene pro esports 3 tournaments a year in South Korea stadiums kind of game, hope you understand that. The only points of MMR is to avoid babies from getting matches with more experienced players as often, but lobby dodging doesn't help the cause because those lobbies have to be filled with somebody and disadjusts MMR. The less information regarding somebody's skill level prior to the matches the better. Survivors only need to see their team mates perks, and killers should just see the characters people are playing. If you like that kind of competitive esports mentality and games, there are plenty of others in the market. DbD is not built to do that and is extremely hard to get to that point solely for the asymmetrical nature of the game (and even like that the balancement team has done wonders with years to fix most of the abusive stuff from both sides that was in the game, and they still have a lot to polish.)
But anyways, point blank period end of my participation in this discussion with you because we are just not going to agree and I am done trying to make a point that you are not getting, and I get yours but it's just awful and harmful for the game (and it shows, since they're literally making updates to fix the issue that is being caused) and we are leaving the whole point of this discussion thread. Have a nice day!
-
I hope that you understand that if this happens is because somebody who probably has higher MMR than you as killer thought the same and he was probably more capable than you of fighting that team, but they dipped and now due to how queue works (fast queue times over skill level matchmaking) now you got there, and after that probably somebody that is more baby than you will get the spot and it becomes a vicious cycle.
You are so wrong. Devs care about fairness indeed, because this update is going to put everybody to go oblivious and blind to the match so there is no discrimination and nobody get targeted nor abandoned due to their prestige (solos will not go jumping from lobby to lobby until they find team mates they consider have the "suitable prestige" nor killers will be hunting for babies, both mentalities exist and are too common and make MMR even worse than it is.) The killers should not have access even to the profiles of the survivors, let alone see if they're in a SWF or solo. Be serious, everybody and their mothers would again start lobby dodging and shopping as killer until they face solos. People who think that feature would be a good idea are just naive, it's such a horrible thing that would be implemented.
Killers already can see the accounts of the survivors if on the same platform + even their items. People already dodge because of the items too. "4 flashlights/toolboxes/medkits ugh i'm out". All this information harms the game and the mentality of players. There is a reason why survivors can't see the killer they'd face, it would be hell as well. Nobody would stay in a Nurse, Blight, SM or any killer that displeases them.
Learn to leave the anxiety of the pre-game aside and face the games the matchmaking gives you, and from there matchmaking will be able to be actually improved.

That sounds like that would cause issues too. TCM has that problem right now
That's clearly not the problem of TCM lmao. This feature is already on DBD mobile and it helps solos to coordinate with randoms and get good synergy perks. To think that showing who is solo and who is SWF would do more harm than good is really naive. If anything, that's the problem with TCM, like in any other game people are just scared of duos/teams and prefer to face solos. Again, too much information about premades ruins the experience for everybody out of fear and discrimination towards solos because they're seen as weaker and people avoid them and restrict themselves to which seems more beneficial.
Again, terrible idea.

We can’t even see this when we play survivor, you’re saying that’s too much?
Yes. Some way or another it's going to push some kind of lobby dodging or shopping by one side or the other. The only thing that solo survivors need in the lobby is to know the loadout of their team mates for the sake of synergies and not countering each other with perks (for example, somebody brings boons and somebody else brings totem cleansing perks such as Inner Healing, etc.)

Hopefully we can also get an option to see who’s in a SWF and who’s solo in the pre game lobby down the road?
Directly no. Awful. This is not a team vs team game, it's a 1v4. Stop trying to give overloaded information prior to the matches, please.

I can still see prestige but my wife can't. Thought it was a bug, because it's not in the update notes.
And what do you both prefer? It will be helpful for the team if you give them your feedback here!

I’ve noticed that the gens also look weird when you have that and I personally don’t like the look of it

I personally don’t like the look of the gen display that the perk display is giving off
Lmao they're really testing differt things with different groups of players! I don't mind how this looks, it's more clear for many less experience players. Visually is easier to understand I guess, so it's just whatever is easier I guess.

Is this another test?
The perks is displayed in the lobby since May 18 .
Also the prestige and character names displayed in in the upper left corner.

I very much think so! There is also another one I've seen on Twitter that is some bloody VFX whenever you level up a character's bloodweb. There is a splash of blood surounding the character.

This I can agree with.
Xeno is slowed when emerging from a tunnel by a hooked survivor. Same could be applied for a few seconds after a turret is picked up.
Like I see it happening too often. I don't know if it's from her base kit or some add-on that makes it easier to happen (have not played her yet because I can not be bothered with the queue times, so I am not sure if it's the footsteps or what.) It honestly feels horrible as a survivor because there is nothing that you can do to prevent the hit and you can just walk.

The only thing this will achieve is making people go back to the old system of lobby shopping, which was to check Steam profiles for hours played/friendlists for SWFs/dodge all Private profiles.
People still do it anyways, don’ you worry about that. More people will play anon mode too. People just want to play this game without feeling targeted and stalked, they just want to vibe and do their thing. I hope they also add anon mode for everybody during the pre-game lobby like League of Legends has for example (people get a jungle camp name until the loading screen happens), and then people can have their profiles displayed during the game and end-game chat if they want. Note this @Mandy 👀

I'm happy about hiding Prestiges and all, but I don't see it being very effective unless they're hidden for everyone and not just a lucky few.
Mandy (dev) literally said in the comments here that it’s a feature being tested still and the team wants to collect feedback before they release it for everybody (because it might also have some tweaks of some kind.) If it’s a success and people like it they will implement it for everybody.
