  • Wanting to nerf more boons is like wanting to nerf hexes still at this point. The perks are already extremely situational and/or niche on their own, don’t overkill them making them even less attractive than what they already are.

  • I got a couple of days ago an RNG in Aazarovs Resting Place with 5 gens only on one side. Traumatazing to say the least.

  • They said anon mode on Xbox is how it is because of Xbox/Microsoft policies. BHVR can’t do anything about that.

  • Same can be said for killers tunneling and camping. Is there any other incentives for survivor to do anything other than gens? Not really. If they do gens there are complaints, and if they go for saves which is the only actual fun side quest they can have there are complaints as well. So… Expect both sides to rush their objectives.

Not experienced that myself, I've yet to be caught by a double tap since otvwas fixed, but sounds like a bug to me. You should report it.

Try it yourself in any custom game, hold W right after being off hook and you’ll see you get caught still in the same chainsaw usage.

  • @UndeddJester said:

I actually had a camping Bubba get caught out by the AFC in my game the other day. He stuck too close to me and gave me the unhook, and the extra 5 seconds of BT meant I was easily able to get to a pallet and force him to m1 me or let me throw it, in the end his camping really hurt his ability to win the game.

Outside of this, the clearance the AFC provides really makes applying Kinship and Reassurance much easier, and you can really punish a hard camping Bubba, and any of the fast/mobile killers who run away and sprint back to interrupt the unhook.

OFC end game Bubba is still Bubba, but tbh I think the AFC has been a great success, it does exactly what it is meant to, which is stop people face camping. Just the fact there is a small buffer where the killer isn't sat right under hook to give opportunities to counter play, without being abusable by survivors, is a great triumph to my mind.

He still can 2 tap through endurance instantly and he was not supposed to be able to do that after the mechanic was implemented. He 2 taps through endurance even if hasted.

It's an anti-facecamp feature. It was never meant to hinder other forms of camping.

It works well in the new-player mmr-range where facecamping actually happens. If you notice no change, that means you are an intermediate players who doesn't get matched with facecampers.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/399235/have-everybody-already-noticed-that-the-anti-camping-does-actually-nothing-to-the-cannibal

I recall Bubba got extra anti-camp measures in the same update - they can't hit through basekit BT and down with the same swing. Or something like that. I didn't play camping Bubba lately, so I don't know the ins and outs of that mechanic.

I literally said that it doesn’t work even if it did get stated that Bubba could not do that, he still can and makes it a problem.

  • I was so disappointed when on the roadmap revealed on Chucky’s live stream there were no QoL changes regarding hooks disappearing forever after a sacrifice and offerings/survivor items and addons not getting any sort of change.

  • Mostly all survivor items need an overhaul in rarity, tier and strength! They need to come up with more new items too for the sake of more variety.

    It does nothing in general.

I want to believe it’s still a prototype and will get tweaks here and there, just like they did with basekit BT from 5 to 10 seconds!

  • Try to see the aura of anything on Coldwind Farm challenge. Blindness status effect basekit on that map.

I don't really care what my team is running. The people who tend to care are the ones who lobby dodge already for petty reasons like prestige level or character, so I don't think it would benefit the game to let them see it.

Good for you if you don't care and you want to play around yourself, some others would very much like to play around their team mates since you're playing a team game and want others to know what perks you have and want to know theirs for the sake of coordination and synergy. They clearly don't mind the problem of dodging lobbies, since the test of hiding prestige has been removed from the tests even though it's well known it's the main reason why people dodge lobbies currently for either being too low or too high. A penalty for dodging too many lobbies in X time should be implemented for sure, but not adding a feature to improve team oriented gameplay just so people don't dodge those who want to just hide in a corner doesn't sound very smart.

Her following you in stealth is exactly my issue, that's what gives you 0 chance to escape and guarantees the kill. I also think the pig needs a buff, especially to her lunge attack since it takes too long in general, it's a surprise attack not an audio check attack.

Exactly. It's crazy how bad it is in comparison to Chucky's for instance. Hope they push her power to be useful in chase and then they can make her traps weaker and be just gimmicky instead of "me follows survivor with trap in their head me gets guaranteed kill". I don't remember the last time I have not seen a Pig getting 1 if not 2 kills just by using deadlock and NWO because it's a 2K guaranteed thanks to passive slowdown, trap killing the survivor guaranteed and then just camping in end game because what else is there to be done. Just boring to play as and against and needs to be looked into.

While that’s true for Saw traps created by Jigsaw - we are talking about Amanda Young here, so that argument doesn’t work.

i wouldn’t mind the timer getting stopped when chased even in stealth mode though

The power is literally called "Jigsaw baptism" and she is supposed to be following his legacy and it's Jigsaw's traps still. Let's not be obtuse on purpose, please. The timer should for sure stop whenever she is crouching in a certain radious from a trapped survivor, or even regress it if it's for an extended amount of time. Remember that you can guarantee a kill if you use the Iri addon to start the trial with all helmets on, use Lethal Pursuer and you just pair passive slowdowns to make sure the helmet will pop before all gens can be done.

It's sad that such an interesting and actual slowdown for survivors in a power gets dragged down because of lame and boring playstyles. Changes for her have been announced for 2024 so I really hope they try to push her power to be useful in chase and weaken the lethality of the traps for afking pressing W behind a survivor while being crouched.

  • I do think that from what you said what I stand the most with is your complain about her being able to follow you in stealth when you have a trap and it stays on. It does not make sense at all gameplaywise (boring, there is nothing to be done against that and it’s a secured death if paired with deadlock and other passive slowdowns) nor in actual lore of Saw. Saw traps are meant to give a chance of survival to those who are tested, so you are not suppose to make sure somebody dies like she can do in the game if played like that.

I really hope and wish she will get changed to buff her chase potential and remove her ‘me puts trap me follows this person crouched until head blows up” gameplay style.

This issue could be solved by making the feature optional.

Another solution is making it so people who lobby dodge too much in a short spam of time can no longer see perks from their team mates in the lobby. Make this punishment ramp up in duration just like the dc penalty.

But to be perfectly honest its hard to feel sympathy for people running selfish or troll builds. This is a team game and most solo queue players are already struggling even without these kinds of builds on the team.

Exactly. Or as simple as adding a penalty in queue times for dodging more than 3 lobbies in X minutes time, like a low priority queue time kind of thing I mean.

  • @Annso_x said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3598915#Comment_3598915

I genuinely don't think it would be that much of an issue, the only build we'd see people dodge would be no one left behind + sole survivor and honestly, good ! Those perks should be reworked and the people using them usually deserve to be dodged.

(Also this wouldn't be a concern if we had a dodge penalty but I don't want to stray from the subject)

Exactly. Those people don't plan on playing as a team anyway, so their team mates don't deserve to have a handicap on their team that willingly will do nothing to support the team. Makes sense I guess, no? They can wait until somebody with their same playstyle meets them.

The positives far outweigh the negatives imo. More perk viability means more variety, more interaction between perks, more teamplay, helps bridge the gap between solo queue and SWF, etc.

Exactly. Every team oriented game has tools to let to play around your team mates. It’s like in Overwatch or League you’d go blindly into the game without having the chance to pick a character (perks in the case of DbD) to play well around your team. If I see somebody running boons, let me have that info to change my build if I had cleansing totem perks selected. If they add this feature, any similar problem with future implemented mechanics will be solved to allow soloQers to have better synergy.

  • @JPLongstreet said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3599054#Comment_3599054

It would eliminate any increasing in lobby shopping/dodging, which we all know is a serious problem we shouldn't increase. Or we could test out not having lobbies and see how that goes.

The problem of syncronization opposed to SWF would still be there, and the possibility of even countering your team mate's perks with your own. I think that that should never be the case, and chances of this will probably increase more and more as the game goes further and more perks come out/get reworked.

  • @Nos37 said:

With how much crap survivors give killers for cherry picking lobbies, it would be hypocritical of them to then cherry pick teammates if this loadout preview were implemented.

In the long run, probelmatic perks that get dodged often like Self Care and No Mither will be more likely to be looked at by the devs.

It's supposed to be pushed as a team oriented game tho. Lobby dodging already happens with prestige (stupidly), items and even characters, so... At least now for real people will see who looks like a team oriented person and who wants to just be hiding and doing nothing at all. People don't want to play solo because it's too handicaped, this feature at least will allow you to see who is intending to play the game with your similar gameplay style and not force yourself to stay in a game with people you don't match at all. It will maybe push people to play more team oriented, which is supposed to be the idea of any game that has a team on it.

If you want to run self-care, spinechill, sole survivor and left behind props to you, but the price of that would be waiting for team mates that will want to endure you playing like that and not force others to play with you and waste their time. Add an amount of times you can dodge lobbies in 24 hours, or add the option to hide your perks, and that'd be sweet. It sucks that it almost feels like you're punished for being a team oriented person in solo Q now, because my team can not have a clue of my perks and see how they will help us as a whole.

But many other issues would be fixed and it would be way better than current version.

But why not fix all of them from the source? Like I don't think it's that big of a deal to just make it in the lobby so everything can be fixed and everybody can play comfortably.

  • @JPLongstreet said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3598981#Comment_3598981

This would be best. Show builds once the trial loads just as offerings can be brought up. Survs then wanting out deal with the DC penalties.

You're missing the point of my example tho.

  • @VomitMommy said:

You could make it display on loading screen, then survivors can't really lobby dodge for this, unless they want to DC whenever you don't like something.

The problem with my example of the totem builds would still persist tho ): that's what woke me up about this issue. Ever since the introduction of boon totems, it's a problem I have faced in my games and that could be solved if we knew prior to entering the match.

  • @Nos37 said:

What if we went a step further and also made your team's loadouts visible during the trial via the pause/match menu?

I don't see the problem! Clicking or moving your mouse/controller thingy on your team mates name on the pause/match menu could display their loadouts.

  • @D0NN1ED4RK0 said:

Adept David is gonna be near impossible

I mean if the only concern of a feature that would help the game overall is the 0.00001% of the games that have an adept David on them... I think it would be worth it, I don't know.

  • @Nos37 said:

Imagine knowing a teammate has Deliverance and you can decide to intervene in their chase when they're inevitably the first survivor chased.

Camaraderie. Power Struggle. Those pesky heal perks that make 2 injured survivors fight over who heals who first...

Of course, this feature would have to be put off until after No Mither is reworked or until lobby dodging is not as feasible.

Yes exactly. I agree and I can see why it could cause people to dodge, but I think that it would push more people to play team oriented and syncronize than cause people to dodge. Lobby dodging needs to be addressed as well but as a whole, for the health of the game and effectiveness of the MMR system!

  • @bjorksnas said:

I think showing some perks might be nice but imagine how many dodges you are gonna get if you have to do a no mither challenge or a david adept if all perks are shown

Probably just show some perks that benefit a whole team like open handed

Could be. I slapped in the totem perks because it's something that has happened in my games more really commonly, and I think that it can ruin many games. I'd just change my build if I saw somebody countering mine without a problem, but there is no way I can know that for now!

  • @HugTechLover said:

It would increase lobby dodging by other survivors. All self care gamers would be endlessly dodged. Meme build people would be dodged. You get the point.

It would be a nice touch, but I think the possible negatives would outweigh the positives.

I see what you mean, but if the feature is already on Mobile (which I suppose have less players) and it seems to work for queue times and stuff, I don't see why it would be that much of a negative for core. I think they also stopped caring about longer queue times since the feature of hidden prestige was removed from the tests (I was one of those who got it, and got removed a few patches ago) even though other tested features are kept implemented.

In my opinion is very much needed and will make solo Q feel much smoother. At the very least it's worth a test!

  • 3 genning could be on the survivors fault until a couple of years-ish ago. If you have not seen killers (certain ones who excel in that especially) purposely sitting between 3 gens that due to map RNG are extremely close together, I invite you to open Youtube and do a quick search where you can find some of the "best comp teams" in the world struggling against that, and it's showcased how that gameplay works.

Maps are being looked into to be smaller (rightfully). Now, there is no excuse to just be boring and be sitting in the 3 gens from minute 1 no matter what killer it is, and with certain perks that to this day still allow it. The fix will probably fix this and not 3 gens that happen naturally or under certain circumstances, just like the anti-camp mechanic has only punished people who were standing still in front of the hook for no reason (in regular games you don't see this mechanic even triggering, therefore it has not changed at all how fluent and smooth regular gameplay is meant to happen).

Props to the dev team for realizing it has become a problem and makes games extremely boring and stale.

  • I hope you are not being serious. If you are being for real with this... Please, read a book on how businesses work in this kind of scenarios.

  • The same way killers see certain things still if blinded by Residual Manifest. White auras are not affected by blindness for both sides.

  • @Emeal said:

It should be something that stacks up, just like how DC stacks up. If the user does it too much give them a penalty to queue-

How do you identify that when there are perks like Slipper Meat and Luck related stuff lmao. If you're unlucky enough and you run that, you'd get penalized for not being lucky and dying trying to use your stuff. It can't be penalized, as sad as it is that it ruins the game for many people.

  • This sounds actually so good. Nice idea!

  • Now let's get that Blight addons nerf and we will finally be good to go :)

  • No, I was wrong indeed! I watched an interview of MCote where he says they're allowed to change his addons (they already did recently with some of his addons if I am not wrong?). I doubt they would ever give him a new power or anything like that (rework), but for sure they're allowed to change his addons and numbers in his base kit to prevent holes and flaws in design as the game evolves or some kind of exploits!

  • @Sandt1985 said:

I mostly use it to directly counter for the people/buckle up. Please don't take that option away from me

It allows face camping still, which is meant to be countered and removed by default with the last feature, so... Bad news for you I'm afraid it might get changed any time soon.

  • If the gen rng was as bad as you said seems like a problem of that and not of Skull Merchant's design. Any killer could have held that 3 gen like she did, and probably some others even better than her. She doesn't excell at holding a 3 gen anymore, the drones won't ever detect you if you don't move (doing gens counts as not moving).

Well, to some extent we did with Spiral, though that was more charms, but yes lets hope we do get the skin for her later.

Yeah an icon for a charm has definitely not the same weight a skin/outfit has though, like at all. There will eventually be new cosmetics from the new movies coming, the same way there will be from the new games coming for RE and others.

  • @AbsolutGrndZer0 said:

I was so hoping we'd get her prototype Pig outfit from Saw X, but alas we did not. :(

It's impossible for BHVR to have access to that before the movie comes out... People said the same when we didn't get RE4R outfits upon release of the game. Please understand that the IP's holders don't give access to that that early on, it always takes time + the time itself that it takes for the skins to be made. I'm sure we will eventually get them later on.

  • It takes them a while to update avatars for the forums. Only a few months ago we got from the first RE chapter (2021) until Gabriel and Singularity, so... It might take some time. Sorry for you ):

  • Regarding OG’s post… I think that the complaint should be focused on the rank/pip system being so bad and inconsistent (for survivor). It should definitely be reworked and either not let you pip down or be team based score (if players play pushing objectives, altruistic enough and have good chases, everybody gets a good score. It’s a team after all).

  • @Mandy said:

To clarify a few things here, this is not an "Anti Camp Feature" this is purely for the cases of face camping. The bar will not stop if the killer is right next to you but continue to fill until you can hop of the hook at an opportune moment. The best time for survivors to hop off is just before the 1st ends and then before the 2nd stage ends - to waste as much of the killers time as possible.

And I don't believe making unhooks silent will assist in the problem at all, they will likely make killers never leave the hook area at all - as they lose that vital information.

Camping and tunneling are still viable strategies - one that can be punished by the other survivors in the match also - doing the generators whilst the killers are camping for example, or taking hits when a survivor is being tunneled to allow the survivor to get to another loop.

The feature that we just implemented is of course being monitored and we will be carefully looking at the effects of it, but it's most definitely not an anti camp feature and it's not meant to affect "regular" camping.

Do you think it’d be possible to add a “tips tab” in the menu of the game and add these tips you gave? Most of my friends who are new players would appreciate these kind of tips added elsewhere other than the loading screen (the tips there are really…. not that helpful). Tips on how to face certain situations could help a lot of new players to improve and know what could be done, they just run like headless chickens because they don’t comprehend anything, and if they don’t have experienced friends with them playing or at all (they don’t know anybody who plays the game at a more advanced level) it can be pretty overwhelming to learn. Please consider this! Especially since the game has been trying to be more beginner and casual friendly lately (which is good)!

  • @MetalJesus said:

Issue is there are like 3 good add-ons right now.

Rest of her add-ons are around claw traps. I wonder if we will see Nemesis/Twins situation where only decent add-on gets nerfed, because other add-ons are just not used.

Now that they might have finally hit the key with her kit, I guess it will be simpler for them to tweak addons to give more variety to her builds. I am very happy with how she plays with the current good addons tho, but probably in the long run I'll get bored if I only use the same ones because the rest are too hard to get value from.

  • Oh, forgot to say that there is a bug that sometimes when you deploy a drone, you actually don't but it says you did? You gain undetectable and do the animation but the drone is nowhere to be seen. Already reported it, but just in case!

You cannot compare licensed and non-licensed characters. the latter will always get more.

How it is disrespectful? The devs give us characters to play with and then they ignore a bunch of them, because they did not make them appealing enough in the first place. or because they did not have the impact they wish they had, idk. players of all characters deserve some love, not only the lucky ones who love a character who is for some reason popular and therefore can work as the best money grab.

Even Haddie get's more love nowadays.

Mark my words, when the Iron Maiden/Slipknot collab comes out, Jeff (the Metalhead!) will get nothing but Feng, Kate, Nea or whoever will get something even if it doesn't fit them.

Yes, that’s why I pointed out original characters so nobody pulls the “oh but what about licensed ones?” card.

Jeff has gotten a good amount of cosmetics this year, just like mostly anyone else. I would get the complaints about cosmetics until last year, but now… pretty much everyone gets consistent cosmetics. The Haddie situation really opened their eyes and I’m glad now that’s just in the past. If you want Jeff to get to the same level of Feng and friends, play him more with your friends or ask the community why they don’t like him as they do with others. Each character mostly has their target audience overall, and some just happen to be bigger than others. Again… Every games does it and it’s what gives them the biggest profit, and even like that lately all characters get a cosmetic at least every other major update (chapters and midchapters).

  • @LapisInfernalis said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3561287#Comment_3561287

I understand that as well, but it ends up in a spiral of doom. And it is very disrespectful of those who do not main Feng.

... How is it disrespectful? I do not play her and I do not care. Good for her players, idk. All non-licensed characters are getting way more attention cosmetics/content wise this year, the team in charge of that has improved and grown and it's easy to tell so. I am very satisfied with the quantity and quality of cosmetics lately. This rift is the best one and bigger one if we talk about cosmetics, tons of them.

  • If a character is popular and sells they are going to get more content. I think it's pretty easy to understand and every game works by that rule and the reason is because it works.

  • Same, this might be my only complaint as well. Feels odd to say the least.

  • I agree! I had so much more fun with builds that were more suitable pre-rework (and slugging one is not one of them). I really wish we could go back and just keep the part of pallet stuns not working while demanifested.

  • People complain a lot about perks such as Windows of Opportunity and call it overpowered. You’d think they’d be happy and craving more blindness status effect inflicting perks and addons as it is now to counter this so hated perk by them.

1 2 3 4 5 … 13
