How big of a deal would it be if the Entity blocked a vault after 2 vaults instead of 3?

    Just curious.

Imagine asking for vault nerfs after they have already been nerfed countless times before. If anything, they need to revert a lot of the vault changes because they have been incredibly clunky the entire year.

  • So you're basically saying people who don't throw down pallets while healthy are potatoes? That's the smart thing to do though, you should never start throwing pallets down with 5 gens up when you're fully healthy, it makes no sense to.

Finally a comment that tell the truth. People overeact because the servers is not perfect. As i know the live servers is not better (lag switch , dodge , high ping , hitbox) sure the dedicated servers have issue but live servers is not better.

He remind me that i got 5min queues as survivor with the live servers. Killer is instant though. I'm not on PC but i've seen many streamers playing without issues except a few desync animation.

It's sorta like dedicated servers help a minority of people while the majority is still having problems with dedicated servers.

Dedicated servers will be better than P2P connections.

P2P: The host is the server. You're at the host's mercy. Anything he does takes priority, since he's the host and therefor at ground zero of the server.

Servers: Everyone has to connect. All data is sent to the server, then sent back to every PC connection. While dependent on your ping to the server, this makes for a more even, fair experience.

So tell me again how dedicated servers (once working properly) are WORSE for the game than being at the host (Killer's) mercy?

I actually have never said dedicated servers will be better than P2P, and in fact, a lot of people have said P2P will always be better than dedicated servers for this game solely for the reason that this game was not made for them. I'd rather get lag switched every now and then rather than have hits come out of nowhere every single game.

The only thing that came out of dedicated servers that benefited the game is that you don't have to dodge 10 games to find a lobby where everyone has good ping. But then again, even 200 ping back on P2P feels better than 60 on dedicated servers.

Yes; don't be asleep. The snares only affect you if you are asleep.

And since failing a self heal, popping a gen, being awakened by a friend, or using an alarm clock are all ways of waking up, there's no excuse to be asleep.

And if Freddy hit you and started the chase, he clearly could be funneling you towards his snares. Keep your eyes open.

Okay, let me just wake myself up mid chase because even if he gets outplayed for a few minutes I still fall asleep because his ability is also passive.

  • @PhantomMask20763 said:

Hmm no, he's better for everyone right now. He's got counterplay and he's definitely not super hard to beat. As for him being made for toxicity, same could be said about literally anything else in the game. But anyways, I think he's fine, we dont want him to be garbage again

Yes because snares have a lot of counterplay when freddy can spam them at every loop to the point where its a guaranteed hit. :)

  • If these servers stay then grats to them for killing off the last of their old players because many are already not playing because of how miserable they make the game.

  • But hes not wrong, this game has gone downhill within the past year. The game just isn't as great as it used to be because the amount of bugs that make the game unfun to play just keep piling up. Add dedicated servers to that mix and it's just terrible. Not even trying to be rude to the developers but good grief.

  • We can only hope they bring back old sounds and lighting. Personally, everything just felt better back then when it comes to the atmosphere. The sounds now sound a little bit rough than compared to before.

Excuse me. Have I insulted you? I was explaining what body blocking was, in reference to the rules of the game.

Now, as I said, I feel that having the prompt be removed by someone standing over the other, or being under a hook for the slugging example, is an UNINTENDED bug. That is why I say "exploit" because it doesn't make much sense to me for it to be a thing other wise. Could you explain to me, why it makes sense to you that it happens?

If we are going to continue this conversation, I ask that you do not insult me. Thank you.

Don't quite understand why you feel attacked right now when all I said was calling body blocking prompts sounds dumb. Look at it this way, if 3 survivors are standing on top of someone that was downed, you can't get anywhere near them why would you get the prompt for it? You can body block the hatch prompt as killer, this is intended. It's just how the game works. Same with wraith and blocking windows/pallets when cloaked.

  • @UlvenDagoth said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/784997#Comment_784997

Hmm? Oh no, Body blocking refers to two different things there. A Killer standing in a corner then hitting you allows you to run away. You should not have got in the corner without checking.

The other is where the Killer traps you and holds you hostage. That is an exploit and bannable.

Also, by your logic, then the people that run in front of you in a chase to block you from hitting there friend is also body blocking and punishable.

Removing a prompt for an action feels like something that shouldn't be in the game, just for standing over someone. Much like if you are slugged and you go under the other hooked person so you can't be picked up.

Please think out your response, and have fun in the Fog.

Uh hello, are you really going there. What I'm trying to say is neither of them are exploiting, both are fair game. Calling a survivor body blocking a prompt exploiting is really dumb.

I’ve always played an even mixture of killer and survivor, almost always leaning towards. And even though I know most of the survivor’s tactics and how they’re used sense I have to as killer. I can never seem to either find a place for them or successfully use them when I play survivor.

As killer I can understand loops and mind games pretty well. When survivors use them smartly they can usually waste a good amount of my time before I get a hit or down. But when I play survivor I can only use the loop once or twice before I get hit or downed, and usually don’t stay in the chase for long at all.

I’ve been playing lots of survivor hoping to get better, but it just isn’t happening

Also what’s the point of leaving the gate on 99?

I'm not sure what build you run but I recommend iron will and and dead hard despite dead hard being a coin flip on dedicated servers right now. Don't throw down pallets at 5 gens, use windows and if you know the timing which it isn't hard after you know how to do it, when the killer vaults just run past him and that'll make a lot more out of a loop. Mostly works on regular jungle gyms and shack but you can really do it anywhere.

Another thing would be to know when and when to not throw a pallet. Don't throw pallets when uninjured, it's really not worth it especially if you run dead hard. Always look behind you in chases granted you know you aren't going to run into anything because that is for sure a big problem people have. I have seen countless people just keep their camera straight forward and not be able to even make it to another pallet because they don't awareness.

prettttty sure that's an exploit of some kind. That being said, it doesn't always work, cause I've picked people up under others. Even funnier with Trapper, you set a bear trap down to move the person or trap them, then pick others up

If that's exploiting then so is body blocking as killer because that is literally all it is lmfao. Get a grip.

They will never remove dedicated servers unless the absolutely have to. The amount of hours and money they have put into it is too much for them to just disregard and toss aside. It's not going to happen so there's no point in saying anything about it.

Then a lot of the player base will just stop playing the game, it’s as simple as that. Dedicated servers has not fixed anything. In fact it’s made a lot of things worse such as hits that should and shouldn’t register, vaults, pallets, etc.

The only thing decent about dedicated servers is that you don’t get lag switched anymore and you don’t have to constantly dodge when playing with friends.

There is no reason for them to keep them on live servers when they clearly aren’t ready, currently playing this game has been a miserable experience because when you think you’ll get hit you don’t for whatever reason but despite being miles away from the killer you still get hit.

I’ll be sure to make a compilation of the hits in talking about and come back to this thread when I’m finished making it since people seem to think dedicated servers fixed everything. :)

  • Just by the title I can already tell most of your hours you have in this game are from idling. There is no way you can be serious calling nurses basekit NOT strong.

If you can't learn basic empathy, maybe you should see a mental health professional, you sociopath.

Are we really calling people sociopaths for people telling you to chill and that its literally just a video game? LMFAO. Sometimes people on the forums really should take a step back and look at what they're typing.

I had damage to my hearing almost a year ago and developed hyperacusis. The macro flashlight is literally physically painful for me similar to nails on a chalkboard.

If someone is using a flashlight macro (So fast it's like one constant noise) I will facecamp them. I'm sorry but I am NOT putting up with that. It's actually painful and my only options are to get the macro-guy dead so I can move on and play the rest of the match, or DC and I am NOT going to be a killer who will be known as the "Disabled crybaby who ragequits over a little clicky clicky."

The extremely fast clickers are using external software and not mousewheel.

I also remember the days when the macro could actually cause some kind of DDOS like effect and result in all survivors simultaneously disconnecting and still getting BP. Presumably it would click so damn fast the data getting sent to the killer (Flashlight on, flashlight off) is just too much and the game poops itself.

One solution I saw someone come up with was turning the flashlight on uses up a small amount of charge all at once. If people are using macros their flashlight would be drained pretty fast while not interfering with normal gameplay.

It's the macros that bother me. People who click manually are annoying yeah, but the macro is to the point where I decide "Yeah screw this. I'm throwing the game and facecamping 'em."

Then maybe this game isn't for you. You could also turn down your volume if you are having problems with some of the sound effects in this game. Just a thought. :)

I did not miss the point. You just seem to assume something; that you're (the hypothetical person in the match) the only one who's fun matters. That you exist in a vacuum.

You see, there are 4 other people in that match you joined. Who are also looking to have fun, and 3 of them depend on you to be a good teammate. Do they not matter?

It would be like if you promised to bring all the chips to a party, only to show up chipless, and then leave, leaving everyone who DEPENDED ON YOU FOR THE SNACKS hungry and chipless, like savages, because you could not be depended on to be mature.

Or it would be like a football team refusing to take the field because they are going against the Patriots. 'They're 7-0. They're clearly OP! So why would we play?' They showed up to play a game, so they'd play it.

When you log in, you're making a commitment to play a game and either be the best Killer you can be, or the best Survivor you can be. Why is it a commitment? Because the other players are freaking human freaking beings who freaking deserve to not get screwed the god damn hell over by one player throwing a freaking temper tantrum because he/she 'does not like <insert Killer>' or 'hates <insert perk/addon/perk combo>'

It has nothing to do with taking the game seriously or not. It has everything to do with thinking about someone other than yourself.

And it's terrifying how many people on here can't seem to grasp common god-damned courtesy.

Yikes. And I mean, if I'm playing solo of course the only persons fun who matters is myself. Why wouldn't it? I play a video game to have fun, not for others to. Now I'm not going to go out of my way to dc every game or ruin another persons experience but I'm not going to cater to unfun gameplay.

  • @Centrum said:

It is the moral high ground because we're not so selfish that we can't comprehend that the other players are HUMAN GOD DAMNED BEINGS who deserve to have a fun round, too!

Holy crap! It's like treating people like freaking people is morally correct! Imagine that!

Please; imagine it. Try to become a better human being. It may hurt, but only for a moment. it's just your conscience finally maturing.

So, I see you missed the point of my argument. People play video games to have fun. If they aren't having fun, why can't they leave? If you go to a party and what they're doing there isn't fun to you, you would leave, right? What's the point in playing out a match with really boring addons when you can just suicide on first hook and have fun doing something else.

You're clearly taking this game way too seriously.

  • People acting like they have the moral high ground for not suiciding on hook against boring addons. 🙈

Kinda like people just want to move on to the next game where they have a higher chance of having fun before the original match would even be over.

  • The best part is still getting hit despite the killer whiffing due to dedicated servers being absolute garbage. Then there are the really fun hits through windows when you're 50 feet away.

  • It's kinda like there are more killers that take skill (with the exception of some addons) while most play nurse and spirit for an easy way out. Nurse currently is still incredibly strong don't quite know why you gotta mock someone for making a fair point.

  • @1saltypug said:

shouldn't be restricted from perks because people are exploiting communication to ruin a perk on purpose

Talking on discord is exploiting btw. I mean you realize people play this game for fun, if someone isn't happy with your build and dc's (even if your build relies on the obsession still being alive) who cares. It's just a game, if someone leaves there are more games you can play. Chill lmao.

  • It's a video game, if you aren't having fun then it's fine. Although, wouldn't recommend dcing every game because of the punishments for dcing too much.

  • Did you really call nurse's current basekit bad? Good god, I'd hate to see what you call good.

I mean there are spirit mains who are really good at the game who do say there is little to no counterplay at all so.

  • It's funny because the only people who say she has a lot of counterplay main spirit.

  • Yes, lets make yet another killer annoying by making his pink addon base. Very cool idea.

Why should a survivor be punished though for being able to loop the killer, if the killer can't catch you after quite a while you shouldn't be punished for playing well.

  • People treating this like the people dc'ing because they aren't having fun will stop even if they will be punished for it have really low iq's when people can just die on first hook.

What if you're out in the open?

What if while you chase one the downed one gets picked up? Just sayin if others can use annoying hypotheticals to make something sound broken, I can too

Except playing spirit isn't even hard but pop off ig. Saying things like flashlights are op in 2019 after countless nerfs due to addon changes and pick up time changes, you really have no excuses. Flashlight saves are a lot harder.

If you shouldn't need a specific perk to counter PB, then killers shouldn't need Franklin's to counter insta heals or flashlights :)

Sure insta-heals don't have many counters but flashlights? Do you not realize how easy it is to negate a flashlight save nowadays. Literally just stare at a wall, fake the pick up, slug until you know everyone is gone, etc. Seriously?

Killers like to pretend that they are the "weak role" in this game and that Survivors hold all the power. That's non-sense. There is a direct correlation between power and helplessness and the DC epidemic.

It's hilarious how killers easily notice and point out how often Survivors DC, then complain how Survivors are the Power Role.

    Does not compute, sorry.

I'd like to see Septics, and Shots make it so you can only use them on others.

BNP's in 2019, lmfao. Really flawed argument you got there.

  • You can keep playing the victim card like most killer mains on the forums play saying survivor takes no skill and that killers always get the short end of the stick when this is the easiest killer has ever been to play.

  • @BlueFang said:

What Dead Hard does is it temporally removes your hit-box it doesn't grant you an invulnerability state like Mettle or Borrowed Time do

Likely what's wrong with the dedicated servers is the DH lags behind meaning you either get the no hitbox status way earlier or later

But this was never an issue on p2p with the exception of really unstable or red pings. Now, even if you have really no latency you'll get hit even if you time your dead hard perfectly.

  • There definitely is some problems with dead hard, I'll have perfect timing and still get hit through my animation.

  • Check out this video on Streamable using your phone, tablet or desktop.

Hope they turn them off soon because this type of stuff is really unbearable.

  • Not quite sure how tbagging relates to taking a player out of the game after a single hook. Anything bm related when it comes to survivor has no effect on gameplay and often times will lead to them getting hit or dying because they didn't gain enough distance while they were tbagging you at a pallet or window.

Meanwhile, camping and tunneling (something that is very common too) ruins the gameplay because it is something that effects the way people play the game, not just a visual queue to make the other side mad.

Well than, let's see a common situation associated with taping gens.

You are at springwood, playing killer and you have a generator besides the tall brown fence right next to the school with the white window loop. That generator was at 90%, but you kiced it before and now it's regressing and is around 74%. Than you suddenly find a wild Bill between the back of the school and the 2 story house. He decides to run for the white fence and from there, start using the pallets in the building. While runing to the fence's window, he spots the regressing gen, taps it, and still makes it to the window before you could hit him because it took him nearly no time to do that. Than you either kick that gen again for the cost of losing him, or continue the chase knowin that the generator stays at 74% and anyone could quickly finish it even if you catch and hook that Bill with PGTW ready to smash.

Overcharge works as long as they aren't prepared for the skillcheck. But even if they hit it, that's a free and undeserved tap.

So you're saying if someone is looping you and they hit the skill check while running, thats an undeserved tap? That doesn't make sense whatsoever because it takes more skill to do that than complain about something that is easily preventable by chasing someone away before kicking a generator. Kicking a generator before you chase someone isn't the smart way to go when they can just loop and tap it to stop it from regressing, you really are just wasting your own time doing that.

  • Not quite sure why they game ban people for editing their save file but give temp bans to people that lagswitch, threaten, etc. Doesn't really make sense, both are bad but should definitely be flipped around.

Even Killer players agree Bloodlust shouldn’t be a thing. Multiple skilled and long-term players, including Monto and Tru3 I believe, want Bloodlust to be removed.

It’s already been nerfed and is better (by which I mean ‘more fair for both sides’) than it was before. Bloodlust used to make a Killer go like 130% or something, but now it’s much slower, which is a good thing. But it cannot be removed yet. Not until maps are tremendously overhauled.

Therefore your bloodlust argument is invalid

How is my argument invalid, they have allegedly fixed preschool and the new map but still haven't disabled BL for those select maps. It makes no sense whatsoever.

  • @Rydog said:

This is a dumb argument, especially considering that it used to be the way the OP wants it, and it got changed because it was too strong. Survivors don't need more time-wasting tools than they already have.

Also, if you ask me: If the chase takes long enough for this to become relevant, the killer has already made a lot of mistakes, and this is just a "win more" mechanic. "Win more" mechanics are almost universally awful in video games.

It's almost like killers get the same thing called Bloodlust, something that can be activated an unlimited time in a chase and rewards the killer for playing poorly (excluding infinites that no longer exist of course).

    Here’s an experiment for you.

    • Go outside.
    • Sprint as hard as you can till you are exhausted.
    • Stop.
    • While you are exhausted start running (not jogging) for 40 seconds and then immediately try to go for another hard sprint.

Experiment for you, get chainsaw'd irl, hooked, then unhooked. What happens after that, good as new? That type of logic is literally the worst thing when it comes to this game along with the worst argument to whether this game should be realistic or not.

Everyone feel free to watch the video and Express your opinions on these vaults

Yeah, not everyone knew how to do these though thats the thing. You can also still do a lot of these but you just have to have tighter angles now.

Nerfing vaults was something really nobody asked for until it actually got nerfed then people started acting like it was a problem.

  • But the thing is, the angles were still pretty hard to get to fast vault things that normally couldn't be fast vaulted. While I think they should revert any vault changes they made this year, I'd say the momentum change is the biggest thing that should be reverted, vaults just feel so terrible now.
