Billy is the perfect example of a high effort killer for a weak reward.
Why bother when Freddy or Spirit exists? You can learn them in 10 minutes, Billy takes hours.

I'll agree that survivors have a few second chance perks that can combine pretty well but c'mon, don't be disingenuous about killers.
You have Undying which is literally Hex: Second Chance.
NOED, Rancor, No Way Out, Blood Warden, and arguably all gen regression perks.
No?
You can literally be AFK as a survivor and still get the effects of DS, Adrenaline, BT, etc.
Killer? You need to get hooks and be active in the match to have all those perks (except undying) activate or be used at their full capacity. Only NOED rewards bad killers.
-
Iron Will, but then if she has Stridor, there's no counter.
Just pray.
-
Survivors controlling your power is pretty bad design. Killer is already the less desired role and generally is seen as less fun, but then the Plague is at the mercy of survivors.

######### get gud.
FFS... the mediocrity I see from players of both sides on this game who refuse to deal with anything slightly resembling a challenge.
Ah yes, I'll equip mindbreaker and get gen rushed in 3 minutes.
lmfao what a joke some survivors are

gen speeds are fine killers just need to learn to apply better pressure like you stated. I've had plenty of matches to where gens were flying left and right but I just take the points and move on. you're gonna have those good and bad games. If you hate gens getting done so quickly than you can run those slow down perks to hopefully help you in your future matches.
You see, the advice of ''just apply pressure 5head'' isn't applicable to half the maps in the game. Unless you're Nurse or Spirit, how do you deal with:
-Four good survivors with DS/UB/DH/BT?
-Coldwind, haddonfield or the game which are the safest map for survivors.
-Playing with a low tier killer.
-Maps the size of Russia.
I think killers should take more responsibility, but there's been times where I'm Wraith on Haddonfield, against four very good survivors with Balanced Landing. That's an instant loss, there's nothing you can do. Same for any coldwind map really.
If every map was balanced like Coal Tower (small, fair pallets) then I think ''applying pressure'' would be sound advice.
-
Gen rushing is when survivors prioritise generators over saving their teammates. There's been times in solo queue, where even with Kindred, there will be 2 survivors working on a generator each and letting me hit stage two before coming to rescue me so they can get the generators done ASAP.
That's gen rushing. The killer failing, through his own fault, or the unfair mechanics of the game (OP perks, OP maps for survivors, etc) doesn't constitute as gen rushing, the survivors are just doing their objective and aren't pressured from it at all.
-
Wraith is way too low on yours IMO. After his buffs, he's much stronger now, easily B IMO. Here's mine anyway.

Balanced against what? As average play or against 4 person SWF sweat squad?
Just the 1v1 interaction. Billy still loses in 1v4 against very good and competent survivors.
-
Make it so if someone DC's, it's like a normal sacrifice. It takes a few seconds to register so the hatch doesn't immediately spawn when they leave.
-
Yup, nothing you can do. The killer can even stand on it and the survivor can still open it. Another reason keys are absurd. I really HOPE they make an animation for it, like a 5-10 second animation of opening it and escaping.
That way if the killer is near it or finds you, you can't just get out for free.

Hatch is there since the beginning of the game. I was killer main in 2016 when you couldn't even close the hatch and we had stand off between survivor and killer. Just waiting for the killer to make a mistake so the survivor couldn't get grabbed.
This game is incredibly snowbally and unfair for solo survivor. You can be a good player and still lose most of your game. As shown by the stats that show 70% killrate and thats with the hatch mechanics. Without the hatch it would be 4k every game. Without the hatch rework it would be stand off for 20 minutes every games.
And the game is just as unfair to killers in certain situations. Neither side has it good.

You are faster, you don't need to worry about getting spotted. You travel the map more during the game so you have more chance to know where the hatch is.
How is it survivor sided to have the gates at the opposite sides. Just get whisper and get good seriously. Not everything need to be handed to you.
That's rich considering this game hands survivors an escape with the hatch mechanic.
-
His kill rate is SO high because new Bubba's often face camp, something that guarantees the hooked person to die, or even the entire team when they're silly to try and save the hooked person, which isn't exactly rare.
As a normal killer, he's underrated, but high B tier at best.
-
DS will still be a meta perk, this nerf does nothing.
-
@Dizzy1096 said:
Least fun perk in the entire game. Nothing ruins the fun of the game for me like this perk, not NOED, not DS, it's just awful. No matter which killer I play their power gets cucked by this perk, mindgames get cucked by this perk. it's a third health state and an undo mistake button.
I genuinely believe it's a stronger perk overrall than mettle of man was and look what happened to that. If Dead Hard was made today there is no way it would be this easy to use, it would have a hefty requirement on it.
The way DH was made is quite fun and interactive for me. Being in an open field with no windows or pallets around, the survivor is staring back at you, waiting for you to swing, whilst you're staring at them trying to see who gives in first.
Now THAT is fun and that's actually a fair situation and encourages mind games. Using it for distance? Most unfair and boring thing ever, especially for the killer.

In a 1 vs 1 sure but it's a 4 vs 1 game. The 1 kind of should have an advantage against an individual from the 4.
Agreed, but the survivors should still have something to work with. Like, you can at least tell the Nurse is using her power or where she is aiming. Spirit? Who knows lol.

I myself use DH, it's hands down the best exhaustion perk. I don't blame survivors for using it, why would they not use the best perks? As well I don't blame spirit players, it's an extremely good killer. But that doesn't mean that this things aren't problematic, and it's up to the devs to offer a more fairer experience to players.
Sadly, this is the case. There's no reason for survivors to not run DS/UB/DH/BT, etc every single game and it makes it miserable for killers who aren't Spirit or Nurse because they can't handle it.
But then even these perks can't save you from a God Nurse or Spirit, so then it becomes miserable for the survivors.
-
@Nosferatu3145 said:
"JuSt BaiT or wAIt iT".
But yeah, it's one of the obligatory perk on red ranks. DS, UB, DH and BT/Iron Will. Every single game everyone has DH, ocasionally someone has SB, but it's rare. This third health state it's what made me stop playing nurse, too much trouble to make a perfect read just to be outperked and restart the chase
Yup, it's so obnoxious its unbelievable. I played Wraith on coldwind against four very good survivors with it. They used it for distance, getting to a window or pallet when otherwise I would've downed them and by doing this, it made it so I either had to abandon the chase or commit for another 30 to 40 seconds, because coldwind is a dumb map.
Oh, and they all had DH so abandoning too much was just a loss as well. Nothing I could do =)

After u master him u can be like 50% bubba in loops. Impressive. We Billy mains says he's not good anymore but u non Billy mains insist 'good Billy'. How about u become a good Billy and show us?
I mean, all the streamers and best killer players in the game regard Billy as better than Bubba. Not to insult your skill, but if you're still at a place where you perform worse than a Bubba, its because you haven't mastered Billy yet.
But like I said before, why bother mastering Billy when Spirit or Freddy exist? So much less effort for better reward.

Game tends to get stale after new chapters/mid chapters come out, I just wish there was more to survivor instead of it being looping 24/7. Game modes on DBD would be fun, but BHVR simply doesn't think it can work.
Funnily enough, the looping part of it and the killer interaction is very fun. I love getting tunnelled, because it means I get to have plenty of interaction with the killer, but that doesn't usually happen because there are other survivors to be chased, OR, its a killer you can't loop like Nurse or Spirit.
So a typical game is:
A) I get to play loops with a killer once or twice in a game.
B) It's a Nurse, Spirit, Freddy, Clown, etc, and there's no fun looping.
It's just boring TBH.
-
@Dizzy1096 said:
It's their egos. They've been boosted by second chance perks. E to undo mistake, and abysmal map design. Now they think they're the #########. Seriously if you go against green ranks you'll notice how they either say nothing or give a GG or perhaps even friendly. Soon as you got a red rank, especially high red rank like 1 or 2, whether they escape or die it doesn't matter they get extremely salty and toxic either way. It's all ego.
They think their skilled but they all need their E to undo mistake button and they all hold W in chase. Wow so impressive high skill gameplay right there.
Dead Hard is honestly, such a crutch perk it isn't even funny. I just played Wraith on coldwind and all four of them had DH and used it for distance and there was at least 5+ times where I would've catched them if not for the distance it made to reach a pallet or window.
It needs to go IMO, it's not even being used as intended, which was to dodge a hit, its just used for distance which has zero counterplay from the killer.
-
I will say that almost every single Freddy player sweats and tryhards games. I've NEVER seen one meme or be funny, they're all serious and boring.

Billy is nowhere near a top tier killer
He's A tier, easily. Top five, IMO.
No one ever plays him anymore because he actually takes skill and dedication to master. Why bother, when you can slap on Stridor to a Spirit or just switch your brain off as Freddy and get an equal or better result?
-
@Dizzy1096 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2043922#Comment_2043922
I don't see how. It's widely accepted that only Nurse and Spirit have a chance at the highest level....so technically it HAS to be one of these that is the most balanced.
''Balanced'' would imply that both sides have a fair chance to outplay the other, that's why Billy is often regarded as the pinnacle of balance by many streamers and people in the community.
Good Spirits & Nurses don't give you a fair chance to play against them. There's nothing you can do against a Nurse that never messes up, or a Spirit who has Stridor.
That isn't balance. Sure, neither is top ranked survivor(s) but that's a different discussion.
-
Yeah, I'm losing interest in playing killer at the minute. Matches are sweaty to even get a decent result and when I'm on survivor, it's just a yawn against any killer who isn't Nurse, Spirit or Freddy.. and when it is them, it's miserable.
Think I'll take a break until Trickster revives the killer role for me, because its very stale right now.
-
Oni would be pretty much the strongest killer, maybe behind Nurse. He's A tier and not S, because when he doesn't have his power up, he's just a standard M1 killer that struggles, especially with the survivors play very safe at the beginning of the game.
-
Billy, he has a fair interaction where both the killer and survivor can outplay or midgame the other, unlike Spirit who just leaves the survivor making educated guesses at best. I would also say Demogorgon as a close second aswell. His mobility is powerful, but can be negated. His shred is powerful, but can be baited by both sides.
@Dizzy1096 said:
Spirit. Has a fair chance of actually getting a hit at loops, does not rely on the other side making mistakes to get hit. Has mobility and chase potential but also has a cooldown to keep it balanced.
Oh sweet child.. for how you are so wrong.
-
I think the hatch is fine. They just need to adjust gates to be more killer sided, because some of them spawn on opposite sides of the map, which is advantageous for the survivor who just failed to find hatch.. which is a survivor sided mechanic as well.
-
Right so you want to combine DS and UB?
Man, let's just give survivors God mode at this point with these buffs.
-
Because using a mori was a free win essentially, even against SWF's.
It took away a easy option for the killer. It's just like how the DS takes away an OP power from the survivors.
-
"It's pretty weak"
Do you not have any idea how powerful it is? It denies the killer the ability to tunnel you, which is the strongest method they have to win the game and apply pressure.
I really don't understand why everyone thinks it's a trash perk now, it's still insane, just not OP.
Sure, Spirit's and Nurses ignore it, but they ignore everything. Against anyone else, it's so strong.
-
Sadly, this is probably a case of the survivors having a lack of information.
It's quite common to be all on a generator with the mindset of "someone else will get them" which in return leads to no one going.
Kindred is fantastic for this, since not only does it help you, it helps others make better choices. It's a must have perk for solo queue.
-
@Im_Tired said:
Why is a killer terrible for using NOED? Must be getting big value if people are always this mad about it ;)
Because its a second chance perk, the only one killers have.
Yet even so, it's not allowed apparently eventhough survivors have more than one second chance perks themselves and all of them happen to stack very well and are meta.
-
NOED only happens when survivors ignore totems and prioritise generators.
It's there to punish rushing the generators.
-
LMFAO its funny they're delaying the release when we already know they won't use any of our feedback to improve the chapter.
Just release it God dammit, I'd rather get it now than wait to see the SAME bugs unfixed and the killer STILL weak
A joke tbh

Aww, you sad you can't abuse a perk for its two minutes of invulnerability anymore?
Sad, maybe you'll need to be good at survivor to win games now.
-
Decisive Strike is still as powerful as it was before the nerf to prevent and discourage tunnelling.
It isn't a OP perk anymore that gives two minutes of invulnerability anymore, which is good.
-
Wait they're nerfing Dark Sense? LMFAO

Bubba's just mindless, he's honestly my most hated killer in the game and I'm being dead serious, if I could record it I'd say it straight faced. All looping him equates to is just "Window bad, drop pallet early, he one shot down for free", it's stupid. And Pig, I just don't like the helmets, they're a bit annoying sometimes but I just hate when they pressure you off of the box.
I suppose this is the case with Bubba, but you at least get to loop and play DBD. Spirit? Nurse? You're dying in five seconds. Freddy? Watch him use his 40 powers to overpower you fairly.
Pig's traps can be annoying but you get to loop her and have those sweet mind games.

200 countries that are not being purposefully excluded (and keeping in mind that original characters come from all walks of life and countries) vs. LGBT lore which was purposefully being excluded (by the devs' own admission, and keeping in mind that original characters' lore has been exclusively heterosexual). Doesn't seem like a fair comparison, IMO.
Yet when they make a character's race they're clearly choosing an ethnicity on purpose.
It's the same entire argument, just race instead of sexuality, but you tell this person to wait when that answer isn't good enough for you.
Kinda hypocritical tbh
-
Survivors should have the mechanic to build the walls, not break them.
They're walls in this game that prevent infinites or strong loops and since the killer can't create walls; it just creates problems.
However if survivors had the options to build them and strengthen the loop it's at, it would add a layer of strategy and another objective for survivors.
But the developers will never do it.
-
Aesthetically, they look better but from a gameplay point of view. They're just either a little better, or worse.
Ormond is better, but not by much.
They made the Game even worse.
Every rework gets shafted with 5 survivor infinites with a breakable wall for interactive gameplay.
God I hate breakable walls.
PLEASE STOP WITH THEM
